So regarding this post, and specifically this tag, this is hitting on something that I believe that's super unpopular.

I, as a disabled person, would rather live in a high rise than on the second floor of a low-rise.

Now first off, if a safety regulation ends up causing a height restriction that's not the same thing as a restriction purely about height, in my experience that's almost entirely about people's views unless it's near an airport.

(and even then might still be about the view, but for pilots and ATC which is safety, not because they like having coffee on their porch while looking at the mountains.)

So like, to begin with the premise that height rules are inherently a safety regulation is nnn.

But fundamentally the taller a building the more my safety as someone with limited mobility aligns with that of my able-bodied neighbours. When I live on the second floor and the elevator breaks, or a fire happens the expectation is that I can go down the stairs, I can't so I end up being stuck. When I live on the 15th floor and the elevator breaks or a fire happens the expectation is that it's not reasonable for me to go down the stairs regardless so there is more fire surpression required, there is multiple elevators required, the elevators must be isolated from the units and there must be systems to try and contain a fire to one unit, and one floor. And the elevators will be fixed much faster because all my able-bodied neighbours are also calling the building manager saying that they aren't going to carry their groceries up 15 flights of stairs.

That's also assuming that the low-rise even has one elevator.

Mostly just practice ✌️ and being obsessed with art YouTubers since I was little haha. My first drawings were like, recreations of “how 2 draw chibi face” :,) But yeah, mostly drawing because it is fun (fanart is a good motivator), and then mixing that with trying to improve through studies, tutorials, art classes, ect.

For those of you who have been round a while you might remember I had a story clear back in 2015/16 about a couple of necromancers named Gidge and Damon (the latter of which is undead). Their story's been through a lot of iterations, including a brief attempt at a webcomic, a complete kind of non-canon backstory short comic, and several other random attempts at storytelling but that is no more! For I am nearly done scripting the complete comic! I have 5/6 chapters completely thumbed and scripted and I'm working on the last chapter, then editing, and then this summer I'm going to try and crank out a backlog of pages! I want to get maybe ~40 pages backlogged before I start posting because I know how time management works and I genuinely can't live with just a 2-3 week backlog. And I think once I get 40 pages I'll be deep enough in the workflow to know what it takes for me. So this may still be a year+ out for release but I'm gonna do it I'm gonna tell their story

If it weren't for you, I wouldn't know Conclave. I was originally looking for Kaalamane but I ended up seeing a lot of fanarts and reposts of Catholic priests and thought "Why? 🤔". That's how I ended up reading the free online PDF version of the Conclave book.

I was surprised that Cardinal Vincent Benitez is Filipino like us, and they mention the Philippines in a more substantial manner. Thank you man!

I read the novel after watching the movie and was pleasantly surprised one of my favorite characters shared a nationality with me too. Wanted to start watching Superstore (partly in hopes of retail humor but largely because I'm low on options for disability representation that isn't depressing) but I'm finding it very hard to want to continue past season 1 episode 1 because of, and I'm sorry to be this guy, the absolutely nauseating amount of focus given to heterosexual romance

- Helly asking Mark in the pilot if she was dead and the Severed Floor was Hell.

- Mark and Gemma's story being a spin on the myth of Orpheus and Eurydice. A man who tries to rescue his deceased wife from being trapped in the Underworld.

- The musical notes that play during the elevator transition of Outie to Innie being a G and C#. A tritone, also known as the Devil's Interval.

- Mark mentioning Persephone in the latest episode, the Queen of the Underworld. Whose life is split in two, spending half her time down there, and the other half up above in the world of the living.

I definitely think Ryuji is the root of Shishido's archetype but that the closest branch If You Will is RGGO's Kagami. In not just being rugged and charismatic Kansai guys who live to fight and have the scars to show for it and so on, but in specifically being coliseum fighters with heavy involvement in an exclusive Den Of Debauchery (Shishido being an event coordinator at the Castle and Kagami being in charge of Purgatory), and in resenting their patriarchs for their (perceived) cowardice... and y'know... big cat-coded (lion and tiger)... big-ass bright-ass black and yellow coats... lol...

Given Gaiden was originally called 7 Gaiden, I feel like I could reeeasonably say that Kagami was split off into Tendo and Shishido in sort of a similar way as RGGJo was split off into Y7Jo and Aoki, but over a larger period of time. Made me laugh every time Shishido said some shit like 「あの人は関西極道のかがみです」 about Nishitani III like lmao... it may be purely phonetic but it's fun to think that's why Kagami's name is Kagami... because he is the model Kansai yakuza...

Also really funny because of your comic about Ichiban and Arakawa having a heart-to-heart while All That is going on in the background right because of the Kagami+RGGJo substory where Kagami starts shit indiscriminately in the meeting room hoping to test the new Omi captain's strength and then Arakawa shows up and knocks him out with one punch LMAO... Arakawa had to ignore that shit the fight woulda been Jover before it started...

Speaking Of Jo I still enjoy how blatantly RGGJo flirts with Kagami in that substory too... RIP babygirl you would've loved Shishido in the console timeline instead of just thinking of him as some Kansai punk </3

But to rewind, of course, Shishido does have that Aizawa DNA in being the Aizawa to Tsuruno's Morinaga, drawing Kiryu out of hiding with brawn and brains respectively, and in being a relatively straightforward ally Until He Isn't. It's joked about a fair bit that the talk about dreams in the finale absolutely was a nod to Y5, and it was.

That being said, I think Shishido and Tsuruno were more of an apology for how convoluted Aizawa and Morinaga's plots were without really going anywhere. I personally liked Aizawa and Morinaga a lot more when they were played straight, which Tsuruno is this time, and although Shishido isn't, I think he's signiiificantly better-executed than Aizawa.

Iiiiiiiiii do have to admit I have a lot of thoughts about Mine and Shishido as characters, because I think they're both very different people and very, very interesting to compare in terms of their trajectories and execution at the same time. At the very least, I love them--and Jo--for what I feel are incredibly similar reasons that I think go a little deeper than surface-level.

But I'll write in about all that when I have more time to... This Has Gone On Long Enough and also I have sooooooo much from the past week or more to write in about... and stream's soon...

To Be More Accurate yar i agree kagami is a closer comparison to shishido. fair to assert kagami was translated into tendo and shishido knowin em on that note too
