The woods were sacred. Horrible things happened to anyone wandering into them with an axe. Any woodsmen attempting to ply their craft walk in... and are lucky to be found long after they perished. Yet, there was a little farm on the border. A little hut with just enough farmland to keep the little farm running.

Rin loved it, because it was home. Ze spent hir days caring for it, the creatures living on it, and the crops hir family grew. Ze spent hir nights being cared for by it. Eating the food that came from the land, being warmed by the fire from the wood ze gathered from the forest floor. Rin and hir family had done such since time immemorial. Including the little song or chant they recited while gathering wood.

"By thy leave, gather what we need... gift what we can, like ev'ry mortal man," Rin recited, collecting sticks into bundles. Tying them up with a simple cord. There was a basket hooked onto hir waist for forage. Another loop for any animals that found hir traps, not that those traps had anything in them this day. But there was a small bird in a large spider's web.

Challenge #04216-K198: To Solve the Problem

A person who ran a massive Inn asked Wraithvine, Gikka, and the small dragon hiding in the guise of a brownie to please bless the Inn with protections. The Innkeeper never charged the poor for food and shelter, but did their best to help, but the local rich lord was getting VERY angry about this. -- The New Guy

Challenge #04316-K298: Healing Hearth

Wraithvine, Gikka, and Birbrid disguised as a gnome were at an Inn. The leaves were falling and it was quite peaceful that cool fall night. An aged, unwell, human whose sight was poor hobbled into the Inn, sat near the fire, and ended up using Wraithvine's leg as a pillow as they fell asleep almost as soon as they sat on the floor. -- Anon Guest

When the inn is small and far from many places, when the family that runs it have long since gone to their beds... it's long been acceptable for people to nap in the common room. It's not unusual when people arrive for rest and shelter during the small hours, and it's not unexpected for them to take what's easily available.

They pay for it anyway.

For that purpose, many isolated inns have long, wide benches that can double as a bed in a pinch. Or, if that fails, very comfortable chairs or no doors on the nearby barn.

Abandoned by the crew, nearly friendless, so she thought, the human took her to get therapy, recognizing the ill health stress had caused. After a long time of therapy, and the human keeping open their friendship, she, tentatively, began the process of trusting again, though the human was obviously not happy with the crew that had filled her head with horror stories before telling her to flee like that.

Like, I’m thinking about the video of JQ getting to meet with Metallica and play with them and Hetfield asks if he wants them to sign the guitar and Joseph gets so excited about it.

Eddie at an after party or something and he left Steve (and Robin because she refused to not be invited if Steve was coming (he gave her a “job” just so she could come)) to go get them some drinks and when he comes back Steve is talking to Brian May like he’s just a normal guy. Steve had been talking to Robin about Dustin getting an internship at NASA and Brian May inserted himself so he could ask about Dustin’s job.

Eddie comes over, nearly vibrating, and Steve introduces him to “Brian, he’s an astrophysicist!” and Eddie nearly passes out when he shakes his hand as if this isn’t a member of Queen.

It becomes a theme for them at events where Steve makes conversation with these world famous musicians about real life things all while Eddie is trying to act like a normal person standing in front of James fucking Hetfield.

The eventually develop a way for Eddie to subtly signal to Steve that this is one of his heroes so that Steve can steer the conversation to music and give Eddie an in.

I just need more social butterfly Steve and his music nerd boyfriend Eddie who panics whenever Steve befriends a famous person.
