Recap? Nah. The Huss had my back all along.

God bless Andrew for doing the recap, I could not keep up the entire time. I now know that it's an entire solar system planet thing, with a sky world named Skaia at the center, and two moons (Prospit and Derse) orbiting it. Prospit is the "dream world" we saw Jade in, and Derse is the place that future Rose escapes to to avoid being wiped from the timeline.

There's a war between two sides: Light and Dark, and this is a war that Light is "destined to lose". On Page 1801, we see someone (implied to be the Wayward Vagabond) rise up, stop the fighting between the Light/Dark soldiers, and turn the Light/Dark kings(?) to their normal form.

Jack Noir swoops in, slices the Dark King's head clean off, and the staff he has goes flying off into a nearby waterfall.

The Land of Wind and Shade is where John is, the Land of Light and Rain is where Rose, Dave is set to go to the Land of Heat and Clockwork, and we don't know where Jade is yet to go to.

Apparently the trolls have a separate session of SBURB happening and are attempting to help the main gang not fuck it up. The ones guiding them from the future were the Midnight Crew (meaning Spades Slick is Jack Noir's doppelganger?) Because of the destruction of their home planet, they're living on the massive asteroid belt, The Veil.

Also there's a new guy, twinArmageddons. He's got some slick 3D glasses and types like an actual lunatic (you could say that for all them, him especially though).

Rose just misses making contact with John irl, as he steals her cat and jetpacks away. I wonder if them just missing each other will be a running thing.

The PM sets out to the battlefield to see the White King, but gets pickpocketed by the Courtyard Droll, (who is just Clubs Deuce but sillier). He steals the Queen's Ring.

Luckily, Jade saves the day by using a sick-ass flying kick and changing the art-style.

I'm beginning to notice that HS seems to change artstyles when a character needs to show more dynamic emotions/posing/flying kick moves. I don't mind it especially considering the sorta "lineless" art is really cool and the fact that HS's default artstyle is already hodgepodge to begin with.

I don't what the fuck will happen later but for now...

Here's what I think happened.

Sahlee likes to snoop on various private FTP servers, and happened to be watching the airwaves when Sollux uploaded Sgrub for his friends. They didn't know each other, but she did recognize his handle from the forums...

...and when twinArmageddons uploads what is clearly an encrypted game executable, she assumes it's the development build of some hot new game that hasn't been released yet.

Once she decompiled it enough to realize it was written in ~ATH, she realized she'd got her hands on something very special - but then she got a little distracted.

See, she'd just heard a loud noise outside her house.

It sounded like an explosion!

John is such a pure dork in his happiness and I love it.

He remembers Casey after he gently dunks the bunny which is great because Im still unsure if being captchalogued is comfortable or not. However I dont think leaving Rose with sudden child responsibilities is a good idea. Not that shed be unfit, more so this was Johns problem so he needs to see it through. While hes at it, he answers the computer for Rose.

This is the first time Grim has started trolling Rose and shes not even speaking to the right person. Apperently its more user error as she doesnt have her Viewport on and so cant tell shes not actually talking to Rose. The converstation goes about as well as you expect. Without a frame of reference, "Rose" comes off know it all and brash while still leaving room to be stupid. The best part is realizing how little John is putting in to make it seem like hes Rose. But he also seems to be bolder as Rose. Hes not normally so sarcastic and he actually has a good grasp on what Rose is actually trying to convey with her more poetic phrasing. In the end, he thinks himself really clever for seemingly having pulled one over on one of the trolls.

We then get to see the station the trolls have commandered and troll on troll conversation. Grim is sitting next to Toreador and another troll with a crescent hook at the end of their horn, behind them is Gallows who is confirmed blind. In another area is Carcino and a new troll, twinArmageddons. The convo we see is between them and Grim.

In it we find this is the hacker whos adamant in not interacting with the kids. From their conversation we find out:

Some sort of network is needing setup. Presumably Sburb offers temporal wifi so my guess is some sort of Local Network to help keep communications from leaking since they are supposed to be hiding.

Arma (twin sounds weird and armageddons is very long) used to be a more talkative type but being in the game has changed that

This change comes from Arma believing/knowing their group is supposed to die. Its not known if this is a Jade premonition situation or a Sburb specific situation.

Arma is kind of a dick.

Grim is fed up with Arma and chucks her 'missing' F1 key at their head, just to add insult to injury.

We go back to Derse to see Dave showing off his sick beats to Rose. There's some new music there though I dont currently know the names. Interspersed are cuts to the giant drawings of Sweet Bro and Hella Jeff as well as Lil Cals terrible eyes. Rose is having none of it and summarily thows him out the window.

From there we return to the ruins on LOLAR that Mom was seen at. As Maplehoof the pony. Inside the walls have glyphs similar to what was at the frog ruins but this time we see turtles. As Maplehoof wanders further, they stumble upon a vast amount of grist. "A large and terrible monster must surely have been slain here." You don't say? A bonkers implication that Mom has managed to defeat the denizen somehow. Maplehoof collects all the grist and it ends up in Roses grist cache.

This is entirely too much grist of too many exotic types for such a low level player. [...] The grist overflow is gathered by the GRIST GUTTER utility supplied by GRIST TORRENT. It is stored and gradually redirected to other players.

It certainly will be welcome for the kids as they create more and a great way to make sure distribution is equal. Maplehoof wanders further and witnesses Mom transportalizing somewhere, easily following suit.

We then take a turn to find Dad. As his hat. The Breeze moves into action and carries the hat easily in front of Dad. Shortly after collecting it, Grandpa appears in the distance at another set of ruins. He is displayed in an inverse of other gaurdians, black silhouette with white features to Dads white silhouette and black features. Grandpa flashes the stolen Sassacres in abid to convince Dad to follow him, likely using Dads concern for his son. Theres no facial expression but something about the way the oil is splattered on Dads hat makes me feel like his face is full of concern as to why this stanger is carrying the family tome. Dad follows and they both transportalize elsewhere.

In a shocking and unexpected episode of 'Jade Is Different To Other Characters', she has additional contacts in Pesterchum Enamel (Much Shinier)! Below her Chumroll (John, Rose and Dave) she has a Trollslum, which may be a blocklist, or could be a different, custom category she's made to group 'best friends' and 'worst friends'.

Either way, there are at least five new names, maybe more as it looks like there's a scrollbar to the right. And while I'm still waiting for wellPressedAttire, officeurchin1280, and Dad's other associates to take their starring roles in the narrative, I'd also really like to hear from these guys and find out why Jade has relegated them to the trollslum.

carcinoCeneticist [CG] - Currently online and Rancorous. Prefix 'carcino-' means tumor or cancer, from the Greek for 'ulcerous sore' or literally 'crab🦀'. 'Geneticist' is a biologist who studies genes and variations in organisms or a doctor who diagnoses genetic disorders, so this is someone who studies cancer biology at the genetic level. As a specialized scientific profession, this echoes John's username, ectoBiologist, but is far more grounded in reality and feels darker because of it.

arachnidsGrip [AG] - Arachnids are a group of carnivorous or parasitic arthropods that includes spiders, scorpions and mites, while grip is a firm hold or tight grasp, or more generally, control of a situation. Spiders especially are seen as calculating and malicious planners, and to be 'in the arachnid's grip' would be to be caught in their tightly woven web and beholden to their plans.

twinArmageddons [TA] - Twin refers to a pair of very similar or related things (literally, two children from the same pregnancy). Armageddon is colloquially a world ending event, or literally, the final and conclusive battle between good and evil as described in the Christian Bible. Homestuck has already seen one extinction level event with the meteors currently swarming Earth, leading to a battle of light vs dark at the center of Skaia. Could these two events - within and without of Sburb - be the twin armageddons, as they occur together? Or is there another and entirely separate armageddon still to happen?

terminallyCapricious [TC] - 'terminally' means extremely, incurably or leading to death, while to be capricious is to have impulsive and unpredictable moods and behaviors. So this person's username is functionally 'I'm an asshole and I will not stop' which feels appropriate for the trollslum. To be terminally capricious is for changeability to be the only unchangeable part of someone's personality, or for someone to be so impulsive that it leads to their own death.

caligulasAquarium [CA] - Caligula was a Roman emperor known for beginning a reign of kindness and generosity but quickly descending into tyranny, working to increase the Emperor's already sizable powers and demanding to be worshipped on a level with the gods. An aquarium is an enclosure for observation and research of aquatic plants and animals. So Caligula'a aquarium would be where underwater life is ruled over with an increasingly iron fist, forced to obey the humanity that once emerged from beneath those waves.

All five of these usernames carry a negative valence - cancer, spiders, the end of the world, people of unpredictable moods and tyrannical rulers are all things people commonly dislike or fear. They all have a connection to death, as spiders can be venomous especially in fiction, and Caligula was assassinated.

Thinking about internet trolls - people who deliberately try to provoke other internet users with controversial statements that they may not actually believe, the only goal being those users' reactions - these people probably would choose usernames with strong negative and dangerous associations. They'll probably come across as extreme and inflammatory, even more so than Dave (who I don't think is intentionally trolling anybody) although might be very different in person, should we be lucky enough to meet them the way we've met John, Rose, Dave and Jade.
