In the tranquil home of the Cullen family, nestled deep within the picturesque forests of Forks, lived (Y/n), a young woman who had been adopted by this unique vampire clan when she was just a child. Raised as a human, she had grown up alongside the Cullen children, forming close bonds that transcended the boundaries of blood.
Emmett, the bear-like and jovial member of the family, held a special place in her heart. He had always been there for her, providing guidance, protection, and a shoulder to lean on. To her, he was more than a brother; he was a father figure.
Today was a day that had been looming on the horizon for (Y/n). She had reached her eighteenth birthday, the age at which Carlisle, the patriarch of the Cullen family, had promised to turn her into a vampire. It was a choice she had willingly embraced, drawn to the allure of immortality and the prospect of a new life with her adopted family.
Nervousness coursed through her as she approached Emmett, who was lounging in their living room, a reassuring smile on his face. (Y/n) knew that she could count on him to alleviate her worries.
"Emmett," she began, her voice tinged with anxiety, "can you tell me again about the risks of changing? I want to be sure I'm making the right decision."
Emmett's expression softened as he regarded her. He moved closer, wrapping his arm around her shoulder in a protective embrace. "You know, little sis, there are always risks with transformation. It's a painful process, and there's a chance it might not work out for everyone. But you're strong, (Y/n), and you've got the heart of a lion. I promise I'll be there every step of the way, just like you've always been there for me."
(Y/n) looked into his eyes, finding the reassurance she sought. With a deep breath, she nodded. "Okay, I'm ready now."
Emmett's grin widened, and he leaned down to plant a loving kiss on her forehead. "That's my girl."
With unwavering determination, Emmett used his venom to initiate the transformation, marking the beginning of (Y/n)'s journey into immortal life.
As (Y/n) embarked on her transformation journey, the entire Cullen family rallied around her, offering unwavering support and vigilance. Emmett and Rosalie, who had been her champions from the beginning, were particularly attentive, their protective instincts in full force.
The transformation was a process that spanned three grueling days. It was during this time that the unique abilities of each family member came to the forefront, their collective efforts aimed at making her journey as bearable as possible.
On the first day, Jasper, the empath of the family, was a constant presence by (Y/n)'s side. His ability to sense and manipulate emotions allowed him to understand her pain on an intimate level. He used his gift to create an atmosphere of calm and tranquility around her, easing the emotional turmoil that often accompanied the transformation.
Jasper's soothing presence was like a lifeline for (Y/n) as she slipped into a deep, coma-like state. His calming influence provided her with moments of respite from the searing pain that wracked her body.
Emmett and Rosalie took turns staying with her during the nights, their protective instincts on high alert. They whispered words of encouragement and love, promising her that the pain would be worth the eternal life that awaited her.
During the daylight hours, the rest of the Cullen family rotated their visits, offering their presence and support. Carlisle, the family patriarch and skilled physician, monitored her physical condition closely, ensuring that her transformation progressed safely.
Edward, Alice, and Esme remained on standby, ready to assist wherever needed. Edward occasionally used his telepathic abilities to communicate with (Y/n) on a subconscious level, reassuring her that she was not alone in this journey.
The dawn of the third day marked a significant moment in (Y/n)'s life—the end of her transformation and the beginning of her existence as an immortal vampire. As she slowly awoke from her coma-like state, her senses sharpened, and she became acutely aware of her surroundings.
Her eyes fluttered open, revealing crimson irises that bore the mark of her new nature. But as her vision cleared, (Y/n) felt a peculiar sense of disorientation. Her memories, once vivid and rich, seemed to have evaporated like mist, leaving behind only fragments.
She knew her name—(Y/n). She knew she had been human, but the details of her past were shrouded in a thick fog, and she struggled to grasp them.
Confusion clouded her expression as she gingerly got out of bed and glanced around the room. It was beautifully decorated, but the surroundings felt foreign, devoid of familiarity.
With a mix of curiosity and uncertainty, (Y/n) pushed open the door and stepped into the hallway. To her surprise, she was met by a group of people who appeared to be waiting for her. The Cullen family, whose faces should have been etched in her memory, were strangers to her now.
Edward, Alice, Esme, and the others greeted her warmly, expressions filled with anticipation. But among them was a face she didn't recognize—a human girl named Bella Swan, who had been determined to be there when her best friend woke up as a newborn vampire.
As Bella approached (Y/n) with a friendly smile, (Y/n)'s heightened senses went into overdrive. The scent of Bella's human blood was overwhelming, and the rhythmic beat of her heart echoed loudly in (Y/n)'s ears.
In that fateful moment, (Y/n)'s calm demeanor shattered, and a predatory instinct she couldn't control took over. With a snarl, she lunged toward Bella, her eyes filled with hunger and her fangs bared.
The room erupted into chaos as (Y/n) lunged toward Bella with predatory intent, her newborn instincts overriding her sense of reason. It was a harrowing sight, with the Cullens moving swiftly to intercept her, but she was fueled by an uncontrollable hunger.
Emmett, using his immense strength, bore the brunt of (Y/n)'s attack, his grip unyielding as he attempted to restrain her. (Y/n) fought with a fervor that defied her size, her energy projection ability causing flashes of destructive energy to burst from her, creating chaos in the room.
Jasper, with his empathic abilities, attempted to calm her turbulent emotions, but (Y/n) resisted his influence. Her confusion and aggression were too overwhelming, causing her to lash out at anyone who stood in her way.
Carlisle swiftly made a decision to protect Bella, realizing that (Y/n)'s fixation on her presented a grave danger. He turned to Edward, the fastest of them all, and instructed him to take Bella out of the room to safety.
Edward, his protective instincts in overdrive, scooped up Bella and moved at an astonishing speed, exiting the room in the blink of an eye. He knew that he had to ensure Bella's safety above all else.
Meanwhile, inside the room, Emmett continued to grapple with (Y/n), their struggle creating fissures in the walls and shattering objects around them. It was a battle of strength, with Emmett doing all he could to restrain her.
Jasper, determined to help, focused his empathic abilities to their fullest extent, channeling a calming aura towards (Y/n). The air around her seemed to shift as he forced her to experience a moment of serenity.
Gradually, the wild intensity in (Y/n)'s crimson eyes began to wane. The destructive energy she projected subsided, and she started to relax, the chaotic storm within her slowly abating.
Still, the Cullens maintained their hold on her, unwilling to take any chances. Carlisle, the voice of reason amidst the turmoil, addressed his family with a calm but authoritative tone.
"This is normal behavior for a newborn," he explained. "Sometimes their memories are wiped during the transformation. As long as we are patient and supportive, (Y/n) will come to remember us and her past. We must remain vigilant and ensure her safety during this crucial time."
With (Y/n) finally subdued, they continued to keep her pinned down, aware that the path to her full integration into their family would require time, patience, and unwavering support.

CHAPTER 2
<< CHP 1 | CHP 3 >>
Y/n gazed out of her kitchen window towards the tree line. Her mind else where as she continued to wipe the same dish over and over. Kim took notice as she raised an eyebrow at her cousin.
“Y/n? Are you alright?” She asked curious making y/n snap out of it. Turning her head to see the worry on Kim’s face she smiled. “Sorry I didn’t get enough sleep last night” she explained easing Kim’s mind.
Kim was spending the night. Both wanted to pull up to the bonfire together. But also get a private visit before anything. Although it was all Kim could focus on y/n‘s mind was scattered.
It had been a few days since she first started dreaming crazy. Ever since that first night and the dream of the girl, Renesmee, she's haunted her mind since.
In the dreams she’s always lost in the woods behind her house. Unsure of why she’s there or what she should do. Stuck in an ocean of darkness until she finds moonlight. The feeling switched between being hunted down or else she was searching for something.
Each time her mind tried to focus on avoiding Renesmee. As long as her legs didn’t give out. She would just run and run until it felt time slowed down.
“So how do you feel about tomorrow? Excited?” Kim questioned her. “Yeah I mean it sounds like fun” although she didn’t sound as enthusiastic as Kim wanted. She wasn’t lying about being excited for tomorrow. It’s just her mind was elsewhere.
“That’s believable” Kim said sarcastically making y/n scoff. “I am Kim really. I need a break from all this packing and unpacking” y/n said with a deep sigh. All she wanted was her dreams to calm down. Kim knew what would perk up her cousin.
“Put down the plate and let’s go sit on the porch” she said holding a joint in her hand. Agreeing instantly the two grabbed blankets and sat down on the bench outside. After a few puffs between them they sat in comfortable silence.
“So how does it feel living here? Must be weird with gramma and grampa out of the house” Kim said as she took the joint back. Y/n nodded her head as she exhaled. “I thought so too but now that my stuff is here… I don’t know it’s just different. I do miss him most days” she said staring out into the field.
The topic of her grandfather brought up her dream last night. Again she was lost being chased by something, and as she ran, her legs began to falter. She knew she couldn’t let herself stop. But she fell to her knees and hands almost instantly.
Again darkness and more darkness. Trees and more trees it never ended she thought. ‘Get up! Get up!’ She cried to herself but to no avail. Like a newborn foal who couldn’t find its footing.
Frustrated she tore at the ground beneath her. Ripping out every root and plant in her path. Clutching down on pine needles she winced in pain. Looking down at her hands upset at herself.
“Are you lost girl?” A voice beamed throughout the air. Searching around she knew who the voice belonged to, her grandfather Quil, he stood in the shadows to the left.
When she spotted him he laughed stepping out of the shadows. He looked like the old man that he was before he died. As he walked past a tree he appeared as his young former self. Shocking y/n as he smiled brightly once more.
Walking deeper in the woods he disappeared into the shadows. His laugh morphing into a howl echoing everywhere. Hearing not two feet leaving but four heavy paws trailing off.
“I desperately need a break from everything right now… I’m excited for tomorrow. Is there anything I should bring?” Y/n said as she took the joint. Passing it back to Kim she smiled “Well I mean you could bring more of this” Kim showed the joint making y/n laugh.
“But other than yourself? No you don’t need to bring anything. Everyone else has it covered” Y/n raised an eyebrow as she finally put the joint out. “Everyone else?” Y/n questioned as Kim realized y/n wasn’t used to her lifestyle.
“I just mean that Emily and Sam usually cover the food part. Sam is mean on the barbecue. Emily does the rest. The boys all pitch in for drinks if they don’t opt to just make jungle juice” Kim explained.
In high school Y/n used to go to bonfire parties in the summer with Quil and Kim. From what she remembers they were lots of fun. One could say maybe even too much fun.
“Yikes I don’t think I’ve had Jungle Juice since highschool” she cringed remembering some unsavoury moments. Kim laughed with her reminiscing. The two enjoyed the rest of the night together. Opting to do skincare masks and pedicures to pass time while visiting.
“Aw I should’ve gotten more earlier” Kim said as she showed her empty bag of w*ed. “Jared usually buys me some but he also smokes it up” she sighed annoyed before pulling out her phone. “There isn’t any dispensaries open this hour” y/n said while looking at the clock it read thirty minutes after six.
“Oh I know I’m texting Quil. He always has” she said with a smile. It didn’t take long for Quil to reply. Letting the girls know if they come over quick he could. He was going to be gone soon so if they didn’t stop by soon they’d miss out. Kim vowed she’d pay him back when she can head into town.
Up for a late night cruise the girls hopped into y/n’s car. Picking a song and turning up the music the two headed out. Luckily Quil’s place was close to y/n’s. As they pulled up they noticed a different car sitting in the driveway.
Kim recognized the car right away. “Who’s car?” Y/n asked Kim as they parked. “Oh that’s Embry’s” she answered as she unbuckled her seat belt before jumping out of the car. Signalling y/n to come with her she felt a bit nervous.
“Don’t worry he’s a good guy. Watch” Kim assured y/n as she knocked on the door. But as quick as her hand left the door Quil answered. “Hey guys” he greeted them as they walked in.
Unsure she gathered herself to enter the living room. There Embry sat at the table, he was tall but had a more slim build, dark skin and hair his eyes looked kind. Her nervousness washing away as their eyes met. Although he still had an underlying intensity to him.
“Embry this is my cousin y/n. She’s just moved here” Quil introduced the two as he rose from his chair. For a slim build under his flannel you could notice his muscles. He grinned at y/n showing off his fangs.
“Hey I’m Embry” he said as he stood beside Quil. “Hi” y/n said as she couldn’t help but blush. Which Quil took notice of as he glared at his brother. Who could only keep his toothy grin on his face while staring at y/n.
“Don’t mind this guy he’s not used to new people” Quil teased obviously annoyed as he ruffled Embry’s hair. Causing him to push off Quil, the two started to laugh, and get more rougher with one another. Startling y/n despite knowing the two were playing.
“Alright—Alright!” Kim said as she pushed past the two breaking them up. “You idiots better smarten up y/n isn't used to your rough housing” The two broke up and smiled before laughing some more. Embry looked down at y/n catching her off guard.
“I’m fine” Y/n said following behind her as the two girls made their way to the table. “I had to wrap it tinfoil I don’t have any plastic bags” Quil said pointing to where it was. Kim picked up the tinfoil making a face of disgust as she scoffed.
Quil shrugged his shoulders as Kim continued. “But this makes it look like I’m a crackhead. Who carries a ball of tinfoil?” Quil groaned as y/n laughed. “It doesn’t look that bad Kim” y/n tried to convince her.
“Hey beggars can’t be choosers” He said to her. It wasn’t long before her eyes lit up again. “Can I at least get a smoke off you ?” She asked and even though Quil looked annoyed. He still grabbed four smokes from his cigarette pack.
Kim thanked him and said she’d get him back. But y/n knew Quil wouldn’t want anything in return when she’d eventually return the favour. Embry on the other hand was eyeing y/n up and down. Kim noticed his eyes as if he was inspecting her.
Embry snapped out of his trance. Putting on a smile on his face trying to ignore Kim’s stare. “So y/n what do you think of the rez so far?” Embry piped up trying to change the subject, while also getting to know y/n, she intrigued him. Catching y/n’s attention as they locked eyes once more.
Quil once more quickly butt in. “She’s been coming here her whole life man. It’s not like it’d be a big change right sis” he stood glaring at Embry. Who took note of Quil’s defensiveness of his beloved cousin. Y/n hardly noticed the interaction but Kim had taken note.
“It’s been great y’know? I’m glad to be back here. Excited for the bonfire tomorrow” y/n replied as Embry had a look of excitement. “Hey I'm glad you’re gonna be there. Yeah it’ll be a good time. Lots of food and drink to go around” y/n nodded in response as he spoke.
Quil and Kim could see the connection between the two. For Quil it pissed him off to see Embry basically ogle y/n. Kim on the other hand was excited for the two and was already plotting for them to become a couple.
The two continued to make small talk. Talking about what each other does for a living, etc. Eventually the conversation turned back to the bonfire party. “Do you play any sports?” Embry asked her.
“Uh—“ she said trying to answer somehow without disappointing Embry. She figured sports would be a great excuse to get close to him. The thing was she utterly sucked hence she was an artist.
“Soccer? Football?—“
“Sorry I don’t play sports. Not since high school” she answered as Embry instead of being disappointed simply nodded his head. “Really? No sports at all? Do you even exercise or move around? Don’t wanna get a hunch back from sitting all the time— Ow!” Quil said as Kim slapped him on his arm.
“I go for runs, Pilates, if I really want to switch it up I’ll do yoga. But not sports sorry not sorry” y/n raised her hands up. Earning a chuckle from Embry and Kim.
“Well that’s fine you can sit and visit with me! I don’t play sports with the boys anymore either. I’ve learned my lesson from last time”
Kim replied as she sat staring into the floor. A moment of silence fell over the three as they remembered what happened. Y/n raised an eyebrow wondering if she should even ask.
“Anyway!— I’ll finally have someone to sit on the side lines with me. Leah always plays and Emily is usually off with Sam when she can” Kim gushed excitedly. “Okay okay let’s save it for tomorrow. Sko’ outside and we can share this before we have to leave. Sam’s expecting us” Quil said as he held a pre-rolled j*int.
The three stood outside Quil’s front deck to light it. The two girls only had a few puffs especially y/n since she had to drive. After a great but quick visit the girls headed out. Bidding goodnight the two went back to the house.
As she drove off she noticed how neither of the men got into their trucks. Instead they ran towards the back of Quil’s house oddly enough. Kim and her spent the rest of the night together eventually falling asleep.
Before going to bed she hoped she would be able to sleep. She was constantly tossing and turning each night. But like every night since she’s moved in her dream was intense.
Sucked right back to where she was last night, on her knees and hands buried into the dirt, unaware of her surroundings. The moon wasn’t as bright as it was the first dream. Instead there were levels to darkness she didn’t realize were possible.
She wondered if her grandfather were in these woods. Or maybe the mysterious girl Renesmee. She wasn’t sure why she was always stuck back to this part of the forest. At this point it was starting to frustrate her. It alarmed her how more lucid it was all becoming.
It always felt as if she was meant to search for something. Find something or maybe even someone. Struggling to figure out what to do she took a moment to think.
Before anything she could hear twigs and leaves crunching. Hearing the weight of something moving beyond what she could see. What truly awaited for her in the dark? Frozen in fear she didn’t even want to turn her head.
She could barely see a few feet in front of her. But as the clouds uncovered the moon it revealed many pairs of eyes. All glaring back at her with intent y/n couldn’t read. All she could do was freeze hoping they wouldn’t attack her.
In front of her eyes she could see the figure moving towards her. Witch each step she clenched in fear. Heart beat rising rapidly, this was a dream, would it even matter if she was attacked or not? For her it all felt way too real.
Out of the shadows was a wolf, which was abnormally huge, it's fur in different shades of grey. It stood still with its head lowered. Their grey eyes intensely focused on her own. And for the first time in a while she felt truly calm. Like she was looking at a part of herself.
All the wolves including the grey one whipped their heads to the right. Noticing something that she couldn’t. A few took off in that direction, the ground shook beneath their paws, showing y/n how heavy these beasts were.
In unison they all howled causing y/n to panic. The rest of the wolves ran past her swiftly. The grey wolf stood still turning back to her. She locked eyes with the grey beast once more, a brief moment of where she felt it understood her, before it took a step towards her.
She woke up gasping and in a cold sweat. Unsure of what it all meant and why these dreams kept happening to her. There was something bothering her but what was it?
The spirit of her grandfather and now wolves? She couldn’t help but question herself. All she could do is chalk it up to some crazy dreams. Although she hated to just ignore these issues her instincts told her she’d figure it all out soon.
Focusing on the rest of her day she went downstairs. Finding Kim scoping out the fridge. Bidding each other a quick good morning. “Do you have any coffee creamer? I can’t drink coffee without it” Kim asked.
“Ugh y’know what? I forgot to buy some last time I went. Should we just go to the lodge? I heard they have good iced coffee there” Y/n suggested making Kim perk up instantly. “Ou yes they do! I’m down” The two got ready and hopped into y/n’s car.
The lodge was a small diner on the reservation. Back in the day it served as a diner, you could find anything fried there, with a side of grease. But now it was reformed the menu having smoothies, teas, etc. Including a new cafe menu. Y/n hadn’t been there in ages.
The morning sky was beautiful as the sun still gave a warm tint. Orange, yellow, and blue hues filled the sky. There was still a bit of fog from the morning dew. It felt nice to drive around so early.
The two sat in comfortable silence for a bit. Taking a moment to look at their surroundings. While also waking up fully. Although it didn’t take long for Kim to break the silence.
“So~ Embry seemed to have an eye on you yesterday” Kim said as she looked up from her phone. Y/n’s face flushed pink as she smiled slyly. Before shaking her head in disbelief.
“No way you’re just saying that” she couldn’t help but gush at the thought. “I'm being serious! To me it looked like he liked what he was seeing” Kim although she was teasing she was truly being honest.
“Guess we’ll have to see at the bonfire tonight huh?” She said as y/n shrugged her shoulders. “Maybe” y/n said as she didn’t want to completely dismiss the notion of Embry liking her. She couldn’t deny he was handsome.
“You’ll be able to get to know him more after tonight. He’s always with Quil nowadays. This is coming from someone who’s lived here my whole life” Kim continued about how close Quil and Embry are.
As she drove she looked to the sides of the road. It felt like there was something in her peripheral line of sight. Moving along with her but every time she turned there was nothing. Hoping it wasn’t deer coming too close to the road.
“Look we barely met last night. He’s cute and all but I don’t think I have time for a boyfriend right now”
“Cmon y/n if anything you have all the time in the world right now! You’ve been crying around for a break well I think this is it. Wouldn’t hurt to have a boyfriend to have some fun with. Y’know? Stress relief?”
Kim said making y/n laugh but she knew she was being serious. “Is that what Jared is for? Stress relief?” Y/n teased as Kim immediately stopped talking and pouted.
“Hey me and his connection is more than just being sex fiends! We’ve been together for six—actually almost seven years now! We’re high school sweethearts—“
“Kim I just—“ Y/n tried to cut in and calm her down but Kim continued on. The shadow figure in the corner of her eyes flickered closer. Y/n’s attention started to focus purely on the road. She sat in a cold sweat gripping the steering wheel.
“I think our connection is something to be admired. Honestly! What me and him have is rare no one can tell us otherwise! I’m just trying to help you dear cousin find something close to what I have! And I strongly feel Embry might just be the one—“
With a sharp gasp y/n swerved off the road to avoid Renesmee. Who stood suddenly in the centre of the road. Kim whose head was turned looking at y/n missed the sight. The car swerved and turned as y/n pulled onto the side.
Y/n slammed the brakes and parked. “What the hell?!” Kim cried out as she sat in her seat shocked. Thankfully both were wearing their seatbelts she thought. Luckily they didn’t hit anything either or else it would’ve been worse.
“Did you not see that girl? Holy shit!” Y/n said as she panted heavily shaking in fear. Her hands sweaty, realizing how tight her grip was, she let go and rubbed her hands. “What girl?! There’s no girl?!” Kim said while scanning the area. There was no sign of the girl anywhere.
The two felt the after math of the whiplash of turning abruptly. Kim rubbed her neck sorely as she frowned. Y/n was still shaking from her shot nerves. She closed her eyes and shook her head thinking of what she just seen.
“I don’t know what the hell just happened. I swear there was a girl right in the middle of the road! She was just looking dead straight at the car. I thought she was going to jump! How could you not have seen her?”
“I don’t know! I was just—Well I don’t think we hit her… Did we?”
Kim questioned as the two looked at one another. Both went out and looked around. There was no sign of the girl anywhere including the car. With nothing on the grill Kim felt something was off. As the two got back into the car she questioned her.
“Did you see what the girl looked like?”
Y/n hesitated saying Renesmee’s name. How could she explain to Kim, “oh yes the girl Jacob was with”, without sounding crazy? “Tall, thin, and pale with brown wavy hair” y/n tried to be as vague as possible.
For Kim her mind started to turn. Y/n on the other hand was surprised Kim believed her. After a few seconds it clicked for Kim. There was no way it wasn’t Renesmee, after her and Jacob’s big arrival, there was only one vampire in town.
It wouldn’t be long before her family would follow. Kim knew she needed to alert Jared right away. Y/n noticed Kim’s behaviour change from surprised to serious. Kim turned to face her calmly, which in a strange way, comforted y/n immensely.
“Let’s just say it was a deer. Okay? I’m sure it was with how much wild life there is here… in the meantime we should get going… I needed my coffee like yesterday” Kim said finishing off with an encouraging smile.
Y/n who was still shaken up struggled to put her seat belt back on. But agreed with her nonetheless. She wanted to get away from this road at this point.
“Do you want me to drive?”
“No I’ll be okay. Just a bit shaken up but breakfast will cheer me up”
As the two gathered them selves for breakfast. Y/n pulled out and continued down the road. Although Kim felt her cousin was handling herself. In y/n’s mind all that she could think of was the cold eyes of Renesmee.
Kim struggled to think of why Renesmee would do this. She had hardly knew the girl. But she did know she was a vampire, that’s all she needed to know, all she could think was that she was hunting. Hoping she was a vegetarian like her family.
The thought of y/n somehow being on the menu for Renesmee terrified her. She knew she needed to keep y/n close to her side. At all costs even if y/n somehow got tired of her she decided.
Arriving at the diner it was a comfort for y/n. The building held a lot of close memories for her. It was also nice to just sit down and relax. Kim knew she needed to call Jared sooner than later.
“So I was thinking about tonight, and I wanted us to have a bit of fun before we leave, how about I get Jared to drive us? He can be our DD and you don’t have to worry about driving?” Kim was sincere on this offer. Jared wouldn’t mind knowing him Kim thought.
“You sure? I mean it’s no issue…Did I scare you that much earlier? I’m sorry I just swear I seen that girl. She was so close to hitting the car I panicked—“
“No no you’re good there I believe you! I still trust you and your driving skills. But like I said I wanted us two to pregame at least. Can’t pregame and drive at the same time”
Y/n thought of it as Kim was already texting Jared. “Y’know what? Sure why not” y/n agreed as she smiled while Kim got up from her chair. “I’m gonna call and ask him now. The sooner the better with that guy” she joked while heading outside.
“I’ll be back in time to order” she said to y/n before Jared picked up. Kim quickly told him the situation, about how they seen Renesmee, although he didn’t show it Jared was stunned. Kim knew it as soon as he became serious.
“I’m going to be honest with you Quil told us about her already. But I’ll look into where Renesmee was this morning. I’ll be by to pick you guys up around six” he promised explaining where he was currently.
Y/n sat inside deciding what she wanted to order. With their coffee already served she enjoyed the hot cup. Although it was already a chaotic morning she didn’t want to let it ruin the day. She had a lot to look forward to.
Kim made her way inside eventually. The two ordered and enjoyed their breakfast. Sitting in a booth by the window y/n enjoyed the view. All until two figures came out of the distant fog. A woman and man both tall, broad, and skinny.
She looked curious at the two as they came out of the tree line. Walking on the road towards the diner, it was obvious the woman was getting after the man, who looked younger the more close he got. The two walking in a fast stride together as she roughed up the young guy.
The woman had short black hair and a beauty she’d never seen before. Wearing a black leather jacket and ripped jeans her figure looked flawless. Even under such baggy clothes her slim body looked like a models.
The young guy didn’t look a day over eighteen. With tan features as warm as his smile. He wore only a cut off sweat shirt and denim shorts. Despite it being the beginning of the year. It was hardly spring with how cold it still was.
It was funny watching the two obviously bicker and fight. But also it was so early where were they walking from y/n thought? The two wore regular sneakers so it wasn’t like they were hiking. She couldn’t help but be curious over the two.
Kim noticed the strange look on y/n’s face. Looking back she seen Leah and Seth Clearwater walking in. In her heart she knew why the two were truly there. “Hey guys” she greeted the two siblings as they came to the table.
“Good morning” Seth said as he wore a joyful expression. Y/n felt stunned by the two especially the woman. Who wore a stoic expression as she nodded to Kim. “Who’s this?” Leah asked while looking at y/n.
“Remember that cousin I was talking about? Well guys this is her, her names y/n, she just moved back. Y/n this is Leah and her little brother Seth” Kim smiled as the two eyed her down. Seth’s eyes were kinder Leah’s was defensive and curious.
“Hi” y/n said nervously as Seth grinned. “Hi I’m Seth! Good to see a new pretty face around here—“ he said before Leah nudged him with her elbow harshly. Making him cough as Leah finally smiled at her.
“Yeah It was nice meeting you y/n. Kim we’re just gonna pick up our food and head out. Do you…?” Leah trailed on hoping Kim would take notice. Subtly hinting around if she needed any help. Kim knew Jared must’ve sent her to check on them.
“No I’m good. We’ll see you later” Kim said trying to dismiss them before y/n noticed anything. “Hope to see you at the party later y/n!” Seth tried to get out before Leah pushed him around.
“Hey yeah I hope to see you there y/n. It’ll be good to have another girl to visit. I wish we could stay and chat now but we’re on a tight schedule” Leah smiled making y/n feel more comfortable. Smiling in return she made Leah’s heart skip a beat. “Haha yes I’ve heard that before. We’ll see you guys there” y/n joked as Leah was instead being pushed out by Seth.
“Let’s go before Sam notices we left” Seth ushered Leah as the two grabbed their bags. Sneaking a quick breakfast sandwich on their patrol shift. The two bid goodbye before walking back the same way.
“Where are they even going? They legit just came out of the woods” y/n questioned as Kim’s eyes widened. She didn’t think she would notice them. “Uhh well they like walking—“ Kim choked a bit on her food “They live close near here. Y’know it’s not that weird most people from the rez walk everywhere” she tried to explain.
Y/n shrugged it off as the two paid for their meals. Kim loves her dear cousin, it was horrible she had to hide who she was, and what type of life she truly led. She wondered how long before the veil comes off.
The house was filled with music as y/n’s speaker played loudly. Luckily her closest neighbour was all at least 1-2 kilometres away. The two sat up in y/n’s room as she scanned through her closet.
“I feel like I need new clothes. I mean what can I wear? It’s so cold out you can’t really dress cute” y/n complained as she continued skimming through her closet. Kim sat on the edge of the bed filing her nails. She sighed and put down the file.
“True but I’m sure I can figure something out if you want me to look”
“It’s okay I think I got an outfit lined up. What are you going to wear?” She asked Kim as she perked up from her seat. “I have this really cute jacket I wanna wear. Some jeans and maybe a pair of boots” Kim continued. Eventually fading to background noise for y/n as she sighed.
In y/n’s mind the flashes of Renesmee’s eyes kept haunting her. How she appeared in her dream. All morning she had been trying to shake off the stressful feeling. It must’ve showed on her face since Kim looked worried to her.
“Don’t worry from what I’ve seen in your closet you’ll be fine. Actually I know you’ll be looking *fine”* Kim assured y/n as she grabbed her hips. Y/n giggled but then turned back to being serious.
“It’s not the outfit I’m worried about… it’s just this morning…” Y/n felt as if her mind was cloudy. All attempts of moving and brushing it off seemed futile. Kims eyes widened as soon as she mentioned Renesmee.
“That girl? Y/n—“
“Look I don’t expect you to fully believe me. I know how I sound…But it’s just I feel like everything is catching up to me”
“Everything?” Kim questioned as she looked upon her cousins weary face. She slowly approached her as y/n looked up. “I’ve been dreaming crazy lately. I don’t know how to explain it. But I’m having a hard time trying to explain and understand it all myself” y/n sighed this time more solemnly.
“Look I get it… Things have been crazy for you lately what with grandpas death, Inheriting this house to yourself, living in a new place. But I think you just need to take a moment. Gather yourself and let’s have a good time together. Right? When was the last time you and I had fun together besides last night? Tonight is just one night you can forget all your other worries”
Kim encouraged y/n which did help her a lot. Y/n looked up at herself in the mirror with Kim behind her. Who smiled as she hugged her from the back. Y/n held onto her arms as the two looked at one another in the mirror.
“You’re right… Everything in my life has been so serious lately. It’ll be a fun night tonight” y/n said honestly as Kim grinned brightly. “See? That’s the spirit! It’ll be great, I’ll introduce you to everyone, we’ll have a lot of laughs” Kim stepped away to grab one of y/n’s jackets off the rack.
“And I think you’ll look hot in this” she said making y/n laugh. “Well we should get ready soon right? Isn’t Jared coming by soon?” y/n said making Kim realize the time. She nodded as she pulled out her phone. Seeing her missed notifications from Jared.
“Very true. I gotta answer him actually he’s tried calling me once already” Y/n nodded as Kim left the room heading downstairs. Stepping out onto the porch Kim made sure y/n couldn’t hear. Once she knew y/n wasn’t in earshot she got her phone. After the first ring Jared had answered Kim.
“Hey”
“Hey there handsome. So what did you find?” Kim asked as she leaned against the porch railing. Jared sighed as he slammed the truck door. Tired as he walked inside Sam’s house.
“So we know Jacob and Renesmee are back in town. Sam’s all uptight because we know the Cullens aren’t far behind. I just got back from seeing Jacob actually” Kim cut in almost immediately. “What did he say?” She asked eagerly waiting for him to answer.
“—Well all I know is Renesmee has been with him this whole time. She hasn’t left his sight since they got here”
“What?” Kim asked confused, she thought y/n had seen her today, who else could move that fast? “Yeah Jacob swears she’s been home. I did my part and got the info out of him. Now you gotta explain why. Are you in trouble? Don’t tell me something happened with a vampire—”
Jared asked worried sick, because why would his beloved ask about a vampire, when he knew she could care less about them? Kim shushed him over the phone as she stepped further from the house.
“—Look we’re both fine! I can’t really explain at the moment. Maybe later when the timing is better. But for now thank you for the intel. And again we’re both fine! Perfectly fine! I’m busy with my cousin y/n right now remember? We’re tryna get ready for the party. On that note are you gonna—“
“Yes I’ll be coming by in a bit here to pick up the both of you. Let’s say in an hour? I still gotta do a patrol check before the other guys swap in” Jared answered before she could even finish. The two operated on the same wave length since forever.
For Kim it was always a lovely feeling when they were in sync. She smiled ear to ear as she thanked him. Before promising something special for him later tonight. Which made Jared smile the same way.
“But you’re sure you and y/n are okay? I can come by now—“
“Thank you! Love you I’ll see you in a bit” Kim said blowing a few kisses before hanging up. Jared sighed as he put his phone away. Kim decided to brush off the whole Renesmee ordeal. Because really it could’ve been anyone in front of the car. All that mattered to Kim was no one was hurt or killed.
On the other hand she was worried for her cousin. Kim knew she wasn’t crazy but something in her gut told her, y/n was going through something, Kim trusted she’d get to the bottom of it. Opting to watch over y/n closely from now on.
Jared arrived when he said he would. His pickup truck roaring loud announcing his arrival. Hopping in the truck y/n prepared herself for the whole ordeal. Wondering who else she’ll meet tonight.
The sky was filled with baby blues, soft orange hues, and pink highlights. As the sun was getting close to sunset it was already so colourful outside. The three chatting as Jared drove music blasting.
Pulling up she could see a group of people running around the beach. They were dressed as if it was summer. Shorts and hoodies some even wore cutoff shirts. Kicking around a soccer ball playing a game.
The three got out of the truck as Kim linked arms with y/n. Making her feel even more comfortable. At the main fire there were logs people were sitting on. One woman and one man sat together, rising up once they approached, the rest stopped playing and made their way to the fire.
“Hey guys” Kim said as the two people made their way to greet them. The woman had a scar right across her face but it didn’t affect her beauty. With dark soft straight hair, beautiful cheekbones, she was tall around 5’7. Y/n felt her self taken away by her beauty but was quickly overtaken by the man who was at her side.
The man was huge, at least 6’5-6’6 he stood with broad shoulders, looking fierce which made y/n feel intimidated. Black hair with eyes that matched he held the scarred woman close to her side. Giving off a very intense feeling to y/n.
“Hey glad you guys made it” the woman said as the two smiled. “Guys this is my cousin I’ve been talking about. Say hi~” Kim said as the rest of the group arrived. Rushing in as a huge pack they surrounded the three.
“Hey I’m y/n” she said as the group roared in excitement. From the group she could recognize was Quil, Leah, and Seth. No sign of Embry but a whole pack of rowdy boys eager to meet y/n. Before being able to mutter another word the boys spoke over each other.
“So you’re the new girl?—“
“Finally a new face pretty one at that—“
“New girl? I thought she was Kim’s cousin—“
“Do you play soccer?—“
The man with the scarred woman gave a glare to the group. Before anything they all straightened themselves out. As he turned back he gave a kind smile, so did the woman, as they reached out to give a handshake.
“Don’t mind these boys they’re just excited. I’m Emily and this is my Fiancée Sam” she said as the two shook y/n’s hand. “We’re glad you made it. Kim and Quil spoke great things about you” Sam replied. Both gave off a warm welcome making y/n feel more at ease.
“Thanks for the invite” y/n gave a small smile as the crowd was stifling excitement. “No problem. We’re happy to have new people around. Hope you’re thirsty and hungry there’s plenty to go around” Emily waved her hands to the area.
Before she could take another step Seth rushed forward. Blocking the way as he smiled brightly. The crowd of boys circled around him as an even bigger blockade. Kim and Leah expressed their annoyance with a loud “ugh” as Kim crossed her arms.
“So y/n these are my bros lemme show you. We got Brady, Thomas, and Damien here” Seth introduced the boys. All whose face showed their youth but their bodies showed otherwise. With stern expressions and tight lips they scanned y/n.
The three boys outside of Seth looked around his age. All had dark thick hair, with lean tall figures, and tan skin. Shuffling up to the front were the younger boys. Faces whose expressions were a mix of either excited or nervous.
“This is Colin, Don, and Lil’ Ricky” Seth said as he ruffled up “Lil’ Ricky’s” hair messily. “My names Rick you’re the only one who calls me Lil’ Rick” he argued under Seth’s rough housing. “Ricky Rick!” Colin chimed in as he joined Seth. Eventually the boys continued to all rough house on one another.
“Uh— Great meeting you guys” Y/n said nervously as she watched the chaos ensue. They didn’t look too different from one another, with boyish youth they were still small, lanky with lean bodies. Although they were quite tall for their ages they were still shorter than the rest of the guys present.
“Jesus Christ—“
“For fucks sake—“
Quil and Jared exclaimed as they cut them off quickly. Quil shoved himself into the middle of the blockade. “Alright that’s enough! You guys have to settle” he said before Leah joined in. “Yeah Seth chill out! Go play with these stink boys” she said as her and Jared grabbed them by the collars.
“You guys don’t even play right just straight dirty. My sis here doesn’t need you guys being rough with her“ Quil barked as the boys just bashfully laughed. “That’s this guy sending dirty kick shots” Thomas said to Don who began to argue once more.
Leah expressed her frustration by sighing, giving a glare to Seth, he took the hint. Shoving the rest of them in the direction of the play area. They just shrugged their shoulders and dusted them selves off. Still giggling and laughing as they went to continue the game.
“Sorry about that they’re usually not that… Well they don’t usually act like this” Sam said trying to excuse their behaviour. “It’s no issue. A little too much excitement maybe?” Y/n joked making the rest of the group laugh. “I mean I’m not much a soccer player anyways” she shrugged her shoulders.
“Great! You can sit with me and tell me all about yourself” Emily said as she ushered in y/n to the campfire. Settling into the campsite they all began to visit. Asking y/n where she’s from and what she likes.
“So you’re an artist? Professionally?” Emily asked surprised. “Yes it’s what I’ve been doing since I’ve been young, maybe 17-18, around there. I work and have trained to use most mediums”
Y/n continued since everyone seemed interested. Emily especially as she piped up in excitement. Which was a change from her usual nonchalant expression everyone else was used to
“That’s awesome. I’m an artist too” Emily said with a faint blush on her face. As Sam smiled with pride as he leaned on her. “Really?” Y/n asked glad to find a friend with similar interests. “Oh yes she’s one of La Push’s greatest artists” He proudly proclaimed.
“What type of art do you make?” She asked Emily earnestly. “I’m a weaver, I’m also a teacher, I teach kids weaving at the school here in La Push” Emily continued as Y/n was eager to hear more.
The two clicked together quite easily, finding a lot of each other in one another, in such a small amount of time. The rest of the group which was Sam, Jared, Kim, Leah, and Quil visiting one another. While the rest of the boys continued to play.
Eventually the group grew into a comfortable formality. The time passed like no other as the sun started to set among the horizon. The boys could no longer play without seeing. So they joined the others at the bonfire.
At this point all were fighting for the chance to talk to y/n. Kim and Quil had to remind everyone to settle every now and then. Since y/n sat being bombarded by questions. In all honesty y/n didn’t mind much, it was fun being around so much excitement, she appreciated how friendly and close everyone was.
“I heard you girls had quite the wild morning” Jared chimed in as everyone seemed to already know what happened. Given their reaction y/n could only nod in agreement. “Oh really?” Emily asked curiously as Kim gave a wild look to Jared.
Flashbacks of Renesmee’s eyes flooded y/n’s brain. So much for trying to rid herself of her worries y/n thought. Her anxiety about it all started to rise again. She wondered how much Kim revealed to everyone.
“Yeah it was crazy almost hitting that deer right y/n?” Kim said giving y/n the look of ‘just agree’. Y/n nervously laughed as she once again nodded. “It really was crazy I mean I’m glad no one was hurt” she said which was true for y/n anyways.
The group erupted once more with a hundred more questions. Intrigued by the idea of her and Kim “drifting” around early this morning. Kim and y/n stared at each other as Kim gave an apologetic look. A “Sorry I tell my boyfriend everything” type of look y/n would soon become familiar with.
“It all happened so fast I’m surprised y/n was able to stop safely” Kim continued as everyone looked at the two. “I’m sure you’re shaken up by that. I totally would be if I were you” Emily added as Sam pulled her closer.
Y/n hesitated to answer, trying to ease hee never slightly before she did, giving a reassuring smile to the group. “I mean I feel okay right now. I’d be way different if I actually hit the poor animal” she said causing Leah and Seth to laugh at the poor animal comment.
“Yep but they’re pretty shaken up I had to pick up these poor girls. Save them from driving and hitting another sucker” Jared cockily teased. Kim gutted him with her elbow making the group erupt in laughter.
“Oh please that was you crying to pick us up! Besides you’re just the DD tonight! Me and y/n are gonna have some fun and be drunk as fuck while we do it right y/n?”
“Wha?—Uh? I mean yeah—“ y/n said surprised before Leah cut her off “To getting drunk as fuck!” She yelled. Getting everyone hype even the young boys who couldn’t even drink yet. Emily and Sam gave each other a look before the two laughed shaking their heads.
Sam and Emily started to offer the group alcohol. Which had been sitting in the coolers on ice while they ate and visited. Different beers and coolers sat on the ice. Although y/n was wanting one she hesitated.
Seeing that some of the boys present weren't of age. She was nervous if the group would allow them to drink or not. Seeing the reaction Quil responded. “Don’t worry these boys are gonna go home soon. Just waiting for the rest to come before they take their rides home” as Quil finished one of them reached for a beer.
Before anything it was smacked out of their hand from Sam. “Smarten up these aren’t for you. I put Pepsi and other drinks in the other cooler” he sternly said as the boys pouted. Reaching into the cooler full of soda instead.
“Do you even drink y/n? Or are you just trying to be shy” Leah asked already sitting with an open beer. As if it were a challenge Leah stared down at her. Y/n laughed as she shook her head. “God no” she reached for a cooler making Leah give an approving smile.
In all honesty y/n had started to get that alert feeling again. She felt comfortable with the group. But she knew that wasn’t the cause of it. It was something else she couldn’t control.
Totally outside of her dreams, Renesmee, the nervousness of meeting new people, it was a different feeling entirely. At least this alcohol would help ease the weird feeling rising in her body.
As she cracked into it, the group of boys stood up suddenly, y/n didn’t notice until she looked up. Before she knew it there was a group of four men coming at them. Running across the beach from the tree line.
Y/n thought it was strange considering how late the hour it was. She felt the back of her neck tingle, the hairs on her body standing up all over, although she had yet to take even a sip.
The boys rushed out to greet the four men. But at closer look it was two young boys, Embry who finally showed up, and some other guy who she couldn’t see fully. Blocked by the crowd of rowdy boys in from of them.
The two older ones, the stranger and Embry, were talking with the boys. A gruff unfamiliar voice that scolded them about “getting their asses straight to their home base”. As Embry roughed housed one of the young boys.
To y/n the voice reminded her of an almost military command. ‘Good luck trying to get these boys to listen’ she thought as she took a sip of her drink. But to her surprise they all did as they all argued on who would drive.
Heading up to the trucks in a frenzy she watched in awe. Amongst them she could see the stranger but not clearly. As him and Embry made their way to the fire, their younger brothers rushing around them, the closer they came the more her heart paced.
“Don’t worry those are my brothers” Sam assured y/n sensing the uneasiness coming from her. She nodded as she awaited for Embry to at least join the group. One of the biggest reasons she wanted to come was to talk to Embry.
The rest of the group stood up to greet the four men as they approached. “They all may look big and scary but they don’t bite. Trust me” Emily said as a way of comforting y/n. She smiled to assure Emily but struggled to shake off the weird feeling she had.
As she stood up her line of sight met with him, breath taken away as he stared into her and her whole being, with intense black eyes and a wild look. Y/n stood frozen in place as soon as they saw one another.
She felt like a deer in front of headlights. But unlike the deer afraid of the headlights, and what they stood for, she welcomed it. For it was a feeling like no other. Wanting to bask in the light forever.
Time seemed to stop as she and this man looked at one another. Nothing else around mattered, it all drowned and faded out slowly, as she watched the man’s breath steadily become stronger like a pant.
Taking in his features he stood tall with strong broad shoulders. Tan brown skin with black coarse short hair. Full eyebrows that furrowed as he scanned her as well. He had rugged but handsome features. All which made y/n’s heart skip a full beat.
She had never felt such a strong intensity, such a strong need and desire, for a man like she did now. It was as if her feet and everything else were pulling herself to him. It was there and then she realized why she had been feeling this way for so long. Or at least her instincts told her so. He took a step towards her, lifting his hand slightly, everything in her seized ready for what was to come.
But upon seeing the man snap his head away, stepping backwards, his brothers tried to urge him to settle. She felt a tinge of pain and something that felt like rejection rush through her. As the men around him tried to make him stay.
Time and reality came crashing down onto y/n. Sucking the air back into her lungs she could hear noise coming back to her. As Emily and Kim rushed to her side, not realizing she was staggering backwards as well, Kim latched y/n’s arm under her own.
“Y/n! Jesus are you okay? You’re basically stepping into the fire. And you almost dropped your cooler” Kim asked as y/n tried to understand what just happened. Hearing the yells of Quil and his brothers calling out for the man. She looked up trying to find him among the group of men.
“I’m gonna take these boys home. I’ll be right back” he answered as he walked up to the boys trucks. “Paul!” They continued to cry out loudly as he gave one last look to y/n. Stopping for a moment just to look at her.
She somehow wanted to stop him. Maybe if she cried out like his brothers he’d stop she thought. Before he shook his head in disbelief storming away to the truck. Y/n began to feel a deep ache in her chest as she sat back down. Reminded of how much a stranger she truly is to them all.
Emily and Kim attempted to comfort y/n as she watched him pull away. As if they knew what she was feeling exactly. Taking the group of boys home in a hurry, spitting rocks as he pulled out, the guys left behind groaned.
“And that was my brother Paul” Sam said defeated by his behaviour. Giving a big sigh as he ran a hand through his hair. “He’ll be back” he added as y/n stared off into the distance. Trying to cope with what she all just experienced.
Y/n realized how crazy she seemed right now. Shaking her head in disbelief she couldn’t believe herself! Since when did she ever want to run into a man’s arms? A stranger at that. It was totally unlike herself.
Embry came and sat by her at some point. But she was too distracted to give him her full attention. She wasn’t sure what to do with herself. Left in a state of confusion. Instead she remembered Leah’s words from earlier. Continuing to finish the rest of her cooler drink.
Reminiscing the wild look in Paul's eyes her heart paced loudly. She hated herself at how much she craved to know him. Was that all it’d take for her to be impressed? She refused trying to keep herself in check.
All she could do was build up courage for when he returned. What face should she make? Should she even introduce herself? Why was she thinking about it all so hard? Most of all did he experience what she felt as well?
End of chapter 2, we finally get to meet Paul, although I’m sure not much expected this reaction. I took some extra time in between editing with adding more characters to the wolf pack. Since we’re told in both the book and movie there’s around seven more members. But the only names we know is Colin Littlesea and Brady Fuller. More to come in the future with both the wolves and vampires. Don’t be shy to leave a comment in the meantime 🫶😌

Zelda Masterlist 🤍Fandom Masterlist
Six minutes and twenty seconds. That's how long you were able to relax before a series of knocks ruined your peace. Predictably, the sound is enough to echo throughout your small home followed by shrilling cries from the once silent cradle mere feet from your bedside.
You could almost cry yourself, although you're able to hold in your frustrations thanks to the smoothing pat your husband gives your head before sighing heavily himself and sitting up from bed. All the two of you wanted was one second of sleep - one second to collapse in bed next to each other and rest your eyes which feel as if they haven't shut in weeks, but apparently, that's too much to ask of this universe.
After giving a quick kiss to your cheek (and smirking at your annoyed grumbling), Twilight slides off the bed and makes his way to the cradle. There, he skillfully sweeps the wiggling newborn into his arms, cooing the distressed baby loving as they make their way to the front door. Seeing as this precious child has only existed for a mere week, it can't really be too much of a surprise that your home has become a hotspot for visitors. Between the village children excitedly wanting to see their newest member and their parents stopping by to offer meals, advice, and all-around support, it seems your door is almost always open these days (not you truly mind one bit), although as it would turn out, your current company doesn't fall into the excepted categories.
"What are you guys doing here?" Twilight suddenly doesn't feel so tired anymore once setting eyes upon the familiar group. They're all here - all eight of the heroes of courage; his treasured friends. This is, what, the third time his world has somehow crossed with theirs? This is really becoming a common pattern, isn't it, and for a split moment, Twilight feels a strike of fear at the thought of this being the start of yet another long, tiresome journey. Now!? He couldn't possibly leave now! What kind of partner and father would that make him? You need him here. He promised he'd be home for you, and for -
"- There's no danger, so don't fret. We've already investigated everything before coming here," Time, who must've read Twilight's worried expression, promptly explains things while failing to fall victim to the same jaw-dropped silence that strikes every other hero in the group as they all stare in astonishment at Twilight - or more accurately, the bothered baby huffing in his arms.
Instead of mocking surprise, Time’s eye casually drops to acknowledge the little one, his lips lifting into a pleasant smile, “...And this must be the famous pup I’ve heard so much about?”
“Wait, you knew?!” Sky gasps, everyone’s shocked attention snapping to the Old Man. He pays them no mind, too focused on his main priority of being the first to hold his great-great-something grandson who Twilight eagerly passes over.
“Ah!” The Rancher’s once worried expression changes like a switch, flashing away into an all-too excited grin. As has been common lately, having new company around immediately sparkles a rambling spiel fueled by his flooding avidity (which has impressively failed to die down even with the exhaustion of early fatherhood), “I was gonna send letters to y’all - it just slipped my mind. These past few days have been a bit chaotic while getting all adjusted. Yep, this one’s mine - lil’ Lupin. He’s officially four days old, born at 10:14 in the morning at a healthy 7.6 pounds -”
“- You’re gonna have to write all that down for any of us to remember it,” Wild rolls his eyes, although it’s in good spirit as he peeks at the tiny baby with a small smile. It doesn’t take the other boys long to notice that, like Time, their Champion doesn’t seem too surprised by this situation either, looking at the newborn with only a little bit more interest than he would a cute puppy.
“I take it you knew, too, then?” Four quizzes.
“He kept hinting towards it at first until I finally gave in and asked. I didn’t know when to expect them to be here, though.”
“It’s been nine months since then,” Twilight points out teasingly, causing Wild to huff and throw his hands up in the air defensively.
“How should I know how long they take to bake! Besides, judging by the way you practically sent me a whole novel about how excited you were, I figured it was only going to be a matter of weeks, maybe a few months by that point. How in Hylia’s name did you stand to be like that for nine?”
“I barely did! It was hell having to be that patience, anyone here could tell you…but Lupin’s here now and definitely worth the wait, I’d say,” Twilight sighs dramatically, looking lovingly at his son who by now has settled peacefully in the comfort of Time’s arms, no longer squirming and fussing. To be fair, his ancestor does have quite a bit of practice juggling twins at this point. One is nothing.
“He’s a beautiful baby, that’s for sure,” Time chuckles, at last taking his eyes away from his newest family member, “You did good, cub.”
Twilight preens at his mentor’s compliment, “Isn’t he? I’ve been around other babies before, but having one of my very own…It just hits different, ya’ know? …I actually wouldn’t mind a couple more -”
“- Don’t push your luck, mister,” On cue, you appear from around the corner, tiredly rubbing your eyes yet managing a smile to greet the rest of the Chain, "You weren't the one who had to go through nine months of heartburn followed by hours of torture.”
“- Eventually. I wouldn't mind a couple more ‘eventually’,” Twilight clarifies, quick to hook his arm around your waist and pull you against himself the second you’re close enough, “Besides, you handled it like a queen.”
You roll your eyes while resting your head against his shoulder, “Flattery won’t get you anywhere different.”
“That’s not what you said nine months ago~” Twilight smirks, pressing a kiss to your forehead only to earn himself a swat against the head.
Warrior originally elected to ignore the heavy knocking at his front door which threatened his peaceful morning's silence. Whatever this kingdom demands of him, they can simply add it to his tab. He's comfortable in bed where it's warm and you're snuggled in his arms, looking as beautiful as ever with a mess of bedhead and matching dark circles under your eyes. Best of all? Your son has achieved a new record of sleeping for three straight hours - THREE!
Now, Warrior is relatively used to less-than-ideal sleep schedules as a hero and captain, so having a newborn around hasn't quite hit him with the same force as it might a typical man, but that doesn't mean either of you are going to be ungrateful towards this new parenting milestone. No, you were planning on taking full advantage of it actually, wanting nothing more than to spend a lazy morning in bed until your little monster inevitably awakes...however, it seems the universe always has other plans.
The knocking only grows more frequent and loud, drawing a groan from your fiancé who finally relents. Pushing himself out of bed, he reluctantly answers the door without much effort put into hiding his annoyed expression - that is until it naturally snaps into one of mild shock and excitement at the sight of his visitors. Instead of it being someone from the Castle or military, he's pleasantly surprised to find his old traveling companions, the other heroes of courage.
"What are you all doing here?" He suddenly doesn't feel so tired anymore, in fact he’s stricken with more life and a bright smile while gazing over the group to count each familiar face. Yep, they're all here - all eight of them. It's been so long! Well, maybe not that long. It hasn't even been a full year yet since visiting Twilight's family together, but that's still plenty of time to miss old friends.
"Well, some of us have been talking lately and we thought, why not put some time aside from our busy lives to have a little get together - just us heroes, for old times’ sake!” Wild announces enthusiastically, practically inviting himself inside, not that Warrior stops him or any of the others for that matter.
“It could be a little tradition of ours. Once a year, type of thing,” Sky explains more professionally, although he isn’t any less excited than the Champion.
"A nice boy's trip to save you from the misses," Legend rephrases, elbowing the Captain’s side with a wink while passing by.
Warrior will admit: it is an intriguing proposal - getting away from the stresses of a hero to spend quality time with brothers who understand your woes. If only the Chain had visited a few months earlier, he’d be willing to entertain such a trip, but alas, he must give them a sympathetic smile instead, “As much fun as that sounds, I’m afraid I won’t be able to join you. At least not this time around.”
Immediately, the group’s uplifted smiles drop into disappointed frowns emphasized by a chorus of dejected groans.
"You knights and all your fancy work kissing the royal family’s ass," Legend huffs, and Warrior was just about to bite back on that comment with a jab of his own, however their conversation is suddenly interrupted.
A piercing cry catches the entire Chain off guard, many of the boys looking around wildly for the possible threat while others - namely Time and Twilight - are jolted by that familiar protective instinct they know all too well of from their own home lives.
“Actually, there’s another reason,” Warrior doesn’t hide his amusement towards everyone’s reactions nor does he hide his tired sigh once realizing his free trial of peace-and-quiet has ended.
He doesn’t even make it to the doorway before you appear, already rocking the baby gently in your arms. It takes some fussing from both of you to smooth his tears, calming him down just long enough for Warrior to turn back to his friends while proudly gesturing to the newborn in your arms, “Well, allow us to introduce our son, Einar.”
From there, it takes mere seconds for the Chain to snap out of it and instantly crowd you both, each fighting to get a good look at this ‘son’ in question.
“Since when did you guys have a kid?!” Hyrule awes.
“He’s so little…He can’t be that old, right?” Sky gasps.
“Only a few weeks, I reckon,” Time observes calmly from the back, tall enough to simply gaze over the sea of shoulders and heads.
“Hey, move out of the way! I can’t see! I wanna see, too!” Wind whines, shrugging to push his way through the barrier of bodies.
Twilight, steps back from the chaos to throw a playful smirk Warrior’s way, “Here I thought you were waiting for kids.”
“Us too,” You roll your eyes.
“Life happens,” Your partner merely shrugs, not even attempting to act ashamed of himself as he accepts responsibility of holding Einar while you excuse yourself to prepare a bottle once he starts whimpering again, “But we wouldn’t trade him for the world.”
“Geeze, you’re all getting old on us,” Legend mocks, eyeing Warrior, Time, and Twilight, “Not even three years ago, the Old Man was the only one of us in a committed relationship, now all three of you are suddenly tied down with children!”
“Don’t go sounding too jealous, Vet. I’m sure you’ll have your turn someday,” Warrior smirks, resulting in the other hero sticking out his tongue in disgust.
“As if. Me? A dad? You sure the world should be subjected to that?”
“Right. You might actually be doing everyone a favor by not reproducing.”
“Oh fuck off -”
“- Shh! Not in front of the baby!”
“I, for one, wouldn’t mind being a dad one day. It seems like a lot of fun,” Sky, coos, letting little Einar play with his finger, “If you ever need a babysitter, just let me know.”
"Careful. We might end up taking you up on that offer with how little we've been sleeping lately."
"Get accustomed to it, my friend, because it doesn't go away anytime soon," Time advises with a pat to the back, failing to hide the mirth filtering his voice as the new father sighs exasperatedly.
Legend isn’t usually the type to delight himself with hosting guests, nor is he much of an initiator when it comes to any sort of social interaction, so suffice to say, the Chain was rather thrown to have received unprompted invites to visit his world and home. Why the sudden open door? He gave no explanation, leaving all of the boys guessing, although Time has a few notable theories swirling in mind.
It all goes back to months ago when Legend had unexpectedly appeared at Lon Lon Ranch, claiming to have simply ‘been in the area’, yet Time knew better than to believe that. An experienced man like himself immediately took notice of his friend’s frazzled and irritable mood, such a state of dishevelment hinting towards one thing: problems at home - problems likely relating to you, to be exact, seeing as your boyfriend was swift to avoid any mention of your name when prompted.
Realizing that prying would be ineffective against someone so notorious for his emotional barriers, Time had allowed Legend to stay with him and his family without question. He, of course, kept a close eye on the young man, trying to deduce the situation the best he could from all those frustrated grumbles while working chores and pitiful sighs as the two sat together on the back porch after dinner.
It was then that Legend had taken the moment to ask Time a rather odd question that had admittedly hung in the Old Man’s head for days afterwards along with a curious conclusion as to the true reason behind his sudden visit, however nothing more was said that night beyond some wisely woven words soaked in hidden meaning.
By morning, the veteran hero was visibly relaxed when quietly expressing his plans to return home to you. Clearly, whatever troubles that once plagued his mind had been resolved following a day of reflection and a goodnight’s sleep, so Time felt confident sending Legend back on his way with a wish of luck and an offer to return whenever needed.
Perhaps that incident and this friendly invite are unrelated, after all, it’s been months between the two, although Time can’t help but wonder, the memory of Legend’s question being of particular interest as the Chain approaches their destination.
Some of the boys share their concerns along the way, a bit unsettled by the thought of Legend wanting to see them. Warrior even suggests the possibility of their friend having gone through a bad break-up, insisting there’s logic behind his guess since losing you would be the Vet’s lowest point, the extreme heartache being enough for him to abandon all stubbornness and reach out to the Chain for moral support. Arguments deemed his theory outlandish, however when Legend opens his front door to greet them, the boys begin to worry Warrior might indeed be a good prophet…
“It took you all long enough,” He huffs, his voice worn and scratchy which really sends home his obvious lack of sleep when paired with his unkempt appearance; heavy bags under his eyes and shaggy hair that stands up on all ends, “Come in, come in…”
‘Oh Hylia!’ The Chain thinks, sorrow for their friend already sinking into their bones as they illy prepare themselves for a story of true despair. Yes, Legend can be difficult and stubborn at times, and maybe you had your reasons, but surely he couldn’t have messed up bad enough to warrant you leaving him! Hasn’t the poor guy already been through enough?
“...Hey man, you doing alright?” Warrior was just about to rip the bandage off, his hand placed supportively upon his friend’s shoulder which earned him a sleepy look that falls sort of its intended glare, however before he can get any reply -
“- BABY!” Wind’s gasp pierces ears and makes several of the others leap in their skin. Indeed, if following the youngest hero’s excited point, it'll lead to where you stand in the doorway with an amused (that be it tired) chuckle…So, you didn’t leave after all? You’re still here, looking as rough as your partner which is probably excusable since in your arms is, in fact, a new baby.
“Hello everyone. I’m glad you could all make it.”
“...Oh thank Hylia you didn’t leave him!”
“What -?” Legend raises an eyebrow at Warrior’s dramatic sigh, yet he doesn’t get much of a chance to be offended. No one would notice anyway, their attention having swiftly abandoned their dear old friend in exchange for you and the baby you introduce.
“His name is Liron,” You note, earning a chorus of awes as the sweet little bundle scrunches his tiny face in displeasure towards the disruption to his peaceful sleep; already, he looks so much like his dad.
“So this is why you invited us over, huh?” Hyrule glances back over the sea of shoulders to send Legend an amused smile, “We thought something bad might’ve happened!”
“We wanted it to be a surprise…” The Vet sighs, unable to stay mad at the group’s energy, after all they have every right to be amazed. His son is pretty damn beautiful.
“Well, I’ll be darn. You gotta kid now,” Twilight smirks, even going as far as to elbow Legend’s side which, as always, packs more strength than probably intended, “And after all that hell you gave us!”
“Yeah, yeah, karma's a bitch. Laugh it up - HEY! Wash your hands first!” Legend’s focus is immediately diverted from rubbing his sore ribs to pointing an accusing finger at Wild who’s stopped mid-reach from taking the baby you pass towards him.
"I did!" The Champion gasps in offense.
“Not here you didn’t. Do it again! Sinks in the kitchen!”
Wild grumbles, forced to forfeit his turn in holding the baby. A glare is all it takes for Hyrule to follow him shamefully as well, allowing Time to be the first to actually hold the little one since his hands successfully pass cleanliness approval. Nevertheless, despite his spotless palms and seasoned experience as a father himself, the older hero must put up with Legend's paranoid hovering which isn't too unlike a hawk's, ready to snatch back his baby at a second's notice if deeming the situation to be too ‘unsafe’. Fortunately, Time's nice enough not to mention this behavior beyond a silent smirk.
“...What went through your head when you realized you were going to be a dad?”
Now Legend’s question - as random as it had seemed those many months ago - makes complete sense. The timid whisper that spoke it, the nervous avoidance of any eye contact, and that deep, thoughtful frown while listening to Time’s honest answer - all signs that pointed towards a worried father-to-be desperate for direction as he fought to keep his own insecurities and fears at bay.
At least Time can finally rest easy knowing their past conversation did some good for his friend. The young man may be fidgeting while impatiently watching his new child be passed around the group for each to see, your gently hand upon his shoulder only doing so much to relax his anxieties. You’re also both beyond tired, fitting to Time’s warning that parenthood is by far the most difficult journey one can ever take, yet there’s a switch of softness that overtakes Legend’s expression the second your son begins to mumble his disapproval, apparently fed up with all this attention that he’s receiving.
In an instant, Legend’s there, stealing back the small infant and clumsily doing his best to smooth such sharp cries. Yes, it’s difficult and nerve wracking to become a parent, especially for the first time, but to see all of your efforts throughout the years take form into such a beautiful and amazing being of pure innocence…that’s the most rewarding adventure yet, something Legend’s clearly already beginning to realize himself.
Sky's been practically bursting at the seams all day - well, all week, to be more accurate - but today is especially special since you’re both expecting a visit from some of his closest friends, the other heroes of courage who haven’t been by Skyloft in far too long.
Seeing as their reunion has been so long overdue, it should be no surprise that your dear husband has been bubbling with eager anticipation all morning (long before the sun had even risen thanks to your shared lack of a proper sleep schedule). While he does genuinely miss his old traveling companions, a majority of his restlessness comes from wanting to share some exciting news about a recent ‘development’ in your lives, one he’s had to hold himself back from spoiling in their routine letters (which are shared far more often than in-person visits).
Before you can even process the knock at your front door, Sky is already darting across the room to answer it, matching the delighted smile worn by all the other boys. He eagerly ushers them inside, his impatience finally spilling over by this point, something he can’t help. As already mentioned, he’s been waiting for this moment for quite a while - and has dreamed about for far longer than a simple ‘while’.
You can only chuckle at how quickly you’re swarmed by curious eyes, the other heroes not hesitating to stand and kneel around your chair just to catch a glimpse of the tiny bundle you cradle. To say it took them off guard would be the understatement of a century. It completely knocked them off their feet to realize what you're holding and what Sky’s excitement has been all about!
It’s a baby - a tiny newborn with puffy cheeks and itty-bitty hands balled into fists! She doesn’t even look real, or perhaps this whole situation itself just doesn’t feel real. In the Chain’s defense, it’s been years since Sky and you announced your intentions of starting a family of your own. Unfortunately, your struggles in achieving this goal became no secret, and your friends had begun to slowly lose hope with you. They truly worried the day might never come which explains their complete awe now.
“Her name’s Azure,” You tell them, wiping away the tears that bubble in the corners of your eyes. Curse these hormones! Your daughter is already a few days old yet you still cry each time you see another’s reaction to her. Can you be blamed? It only solidifies the reality that this is, in fact, your baby. Sky and you are officially parents!
“Congratulations, man!” Warrior throws an arm over your husband’s shoulder and pulls him close into a side hug, “You’ve earned it!”
Sky shares his laughter with a shake of his head, his eyes immediately drifting to yours, “My wife deserves most of the credit. She’s the one who endured all those long and tiresome months to get little Azure here.”
“And you took amazing care of us both throughout every second,” You point out just as quickly with a gentle smile, “I couldn’t have asked for a better partner to go through this with.”
“Now we’ll have to start planning some playdates with all our kids. Let ‘em tire each other out,” Twilight points out, giving Sky’s other side a nudge with his elbow.
“Maybe being around Azure will get Hope to stop asking for a sibling for a while,” Hyrule sighs exhaustively.
“Yeah, no, that has the exact opposite effect. Trust me,” Legend huffs with crossed arms.
Wind’s hand pops out from somewhere in the back of the crowd, only seen as he eagerly tries to jump up and down to gain attention, “Oh-Oh, Tetra and I can babysit if you ever need it!”
“I didn’t think she even liked kids?”
“She ‘likes’ kids, she just doesn’t like being ‘around’ them,” Wind rolls his eyes at Legend’s comment as if the reason isn’t obvious, “But she said she’s been wanting to get better with them to practice the whole ‘being a nice princess’ thing -”
“- All of that can come later,” Time swiftly interrupts the wandering conversation, “I’m sure as new parents, these two would appreciate rest above all else for now. There’ll be plenty of time for playdates later down the line.”
“We’ll definitely set some up once Azure is old enough,” Sky chuckles in agreement before kneeling by your side to help fix the blanket around your sleeping daughter. Although there’s quite a bit of time until then, the idea of finally being able to participate in such arrangements is exciting to you both. No more standing on the sidelines feeling out of place with your hearts’ yearning. You’ll finally be able to share the joy all of your friends feel.
“You both look like happy parents. Congratulations,” You preen at Time’s compliment, looking to each other through tears in your eyes which then drop to Azure who snuggles closer to you, blissfully unaware of the effect she already has on your hearts as she merely enjoys the comfort of your loving embrace. Your most special treasure, indeed…

Master List
Trying to ignore the sweat that dripped down your brow, you continued to watch Talon hack and swing at the dummy that was set just outside of Link’s treehouse. He had left, again, on a dangerous mission that you had little to no information about. Once again left in the dark. So you didn’t think he’d mind if you used his equipment for training. You're being filled with sorrow for multiple reasons, but the main one at the moment was for Talon, who felt the need to learn how to fight to protect the village. A task that you had failed at. Something that ate at not only you, but Rusl, Colin’s own father. It ate at you for a different reason than Rusl, as not only had you failed at protecting the other children, but you had failed Link, who had set out and brought them back. A task that shouldn’t have fallen onto his shoulders solely, but became his burden to bear as both you and Rusl were too hurt to travel, let alone fight.
You had cried when he came back (much to your embarrassment). Cried happily that he returned. Then cried solemnly when he had told you about how he not only saved the children of Ordon, but had saved all of Hyrule. Cried for just how quickly he had to grow in the few months of his travels, how he found solace with someone that wasn’t you (you knew that was selfish, but you just couldn’t help it). If the villagers had thought you and Link were close before, they were surprised that you had managed to become closer. You never left his side, always trying to do chores before he had the chance. Link needed time to rest, but you knew he would refuse to…so you had to force him somehow.
That felt like forever ago as he once again found himself placed with an even heavier burden than before. Traveling through different dimensions to kill some sort of shadow beast. You weren’t one hundred percent on the details as Link as rushidly explained that he was leaving and he wasn’t sure for how long. That had been months ago, and you found yourself taking over his role in the village. You were the ranch hand now, as well as the defender since Rusl was needed at home to help take care of his newborn. Which led you to this moment, teaching Talon how to defend himself. He was still young, so he had time to learn of the best stances, strikes, defenses, and more. And even if you weren’t as great as Link when it came to a fight, but you were still pretty darn good, which is why Talon asked you.
You were brought out of your reverie when Talon let out an excited cheer, jumping up and down as he pointed out the broken pumpkin that once acted as the dummy’s head. With a small smile, you congratulated the young boy, telling him to go take a break and play with the other kids. To your satisfaction he did just that, running off into the village as you let out a sigh. You didn’t mind the kids, in fact, half the village were kids. No, you just weren’t as close to them as Link or Ilia were, but they didn’t seem to mind your awkwardness. Just as you were about to make your own way into the village for your much needed break, you were caught off guard as you were brought into an embrace. Panicking, you went to elbow whoever decided it would be a smart idea to catch you off guard, only to be swung around in a circle. You grasped onto the strong arms that held you by your waist, turning your head only to see your greatest cause of stress for the past few months.
A mix of emotions washed over you as Link set you down, letting you turn to face him fully. Happy once more to see the man you loved, relieved to see that he was not only alive, but no visible injuries, and a bit annoyed. Annoyed that he just pops back in and acts like nothing had happened, like he hadn’t just left you alone again, like he hadn’t just left for a mission that could’ve left him dead in a world he was unfamiliar with. Where you would’ve never known of his status, if he was alive or dead, left to forever ponder the fate of your childhood friend. In the end, your relief won, staring into his azure eyes that shone with pure adoration and happiness.
“You’re back already?” You whispered, like if you spoke any louder he’d shatter before you and you’d wake from a dream. He nodded, always one who expressed himself with his actions instead of words. “To stay?” You clarified, and that was when your heart dropped. His smile fell, and his gaze drifted away from you.
Yet he still refused to let you go, if anything he pulled you in closer as he spoke in a similar hushed whisper, “Came here to restock our supplies.” Before you could ask what he meant by ‘our’, you heard multiple footsteps approach, causing you to pull away from Link much to his dismay. Each time he was pulled away from you he felt like he was missing a part of himself. He almost downright refused to leave you when he came back from saving the forest temple and saw you laying battered and bruised in your bed. Your despondent attitude had caused him great heartache, unable to stay and lift your spirits as he had to clear the twilight from the rest of Hyrule. Instead, he kissed your battered and bruised skin that day hoping that his love and adoration for you would seep through your skin and reach your bruised soul. Instead, it seemed his affection had done the opposite, and as you littered his own face with kisses of your own, he could feel the regret, self hatred, and sadness drenched in each and every peck. You had given him the most soul crushing look as he exited your room to continue his journey. He knew at that moment you blame yourself for the children being taken, for not being able to come and help him on his journey.
And just when everything seemed to go back to as normal as life could get, it got uprooted once more. That sorrow filled your eyes once more when he brought up leaving soon. Once more, he longed to stay by your side as your hand cupped his cheek, stating that he shouldn’t have the world rest upon his shoulders again, how it wasn’t fair he couldn’t just live his life like any other hylian. Deep down Link knew you were right, and as he met the Links from the other dimensions, he knew it was unfair that they also had to bear similar burdens. Yet at the same time it was a solace that he met others who were dealt similar hands as him. So when it was time to go back to his dimension, where you would be there to greet him, Link had been overcome with eagerness, wanting to see you once more, talk of his adventures, and give you a few items he deemed you’d enjoy. He completely forgot it wasn’t to stay, and when your loving expression turned sour he felt his heart drop.
Before he could try to cheer you, the rest of his group had finally caught up, causing you to stare at the multiple blond men who wore green tunics. You blinked rapidly, wondering if you had hit your head to cause such a sight, because it almost seemed like many Links of different variations stood before you.
“So this was why you were running so fast,” One of them huffed, the only major difference was the scarf he wore around his neck. An awkward air settled around you all, and you found yourself itching for a reason to excuse yourself. You’re sure anyone Link would travel with was nice, but you always had a harder time getting to know new people.
“Everyone, meet my friend,” Link gestured to you, a warm smile lining his lips once more. Then he introduced you to each individual. Apparently they were all Link, just from their own times/dimensions. It was honestly hard to wrap your head around the whole situation, but they all went by unusual names to clarify who was who. Your Link being called Twilight (or Twi) due to the darkness your land had fallen to years ago.
“It’s nice to meet you all,” You smiled politely, hoping to not come off as awkward as you felt. “Unfortunately I have to go help Fado with the ranch now.”
“I can–” Before your Link could offer to help, you sent him a sharp glare that quickly shut him up.
“You need to rest,” You scolded, and as your gaze fell onto the others you clarified. “You all need some rest. You should stay for the night at least, Link—Twi has room in his house to fit you all.”
“But–”
“No buts,” You shook your head, already starting to walk towards the village, the argument ending before it could even begin. You could hear some chuckles from the group, but you paid no regard.
To clear your mind from everything that just happened moments prior, you found yourself cleaning the goats stalls at Fado’s ranch. Clearing and refilling their food and water troughs, shoveling out their poop, stacking hay bales that will be used the next day, then preparing to herd all the goats back into the barn. A routine you had grown accustomed to in Link's absence. This was his job…had been his job, but it was yours in the meantime. It unsettled you how well the village could do in the absence of Link, how no one dared to utter his name. Or perhaps they thought the topic would upset you…they wouldn’t be wrong in that regard.
Just as the sun started to set, you closed the doors to the barn, ready to head back to your home and prepare a warm bath to rid yourself of the grim accumulated from a day of hard work. Of course things could never be so easy. Link stood by the gate, watching you close up. As you approached the blond hero, those tumultuous feelings from earlier rose once more, unsure if you could handle any more emotional encounters.
“Come,” Link waved at you, nodding towards the village. “Wild made dinner.” You planted your feet, ceasing your movements as you felt your eyebrows furrow. On one hand, you felt like you were being unfair to Link's companions, but on the other, you felt completely exhausted both mentally and physically. Waking up before the sun rises and falling asleep long after it sets does one to someone's body. Not to mention the constant work that was piled onto you, from working on the ranch to training Talon, you hadn’t had much time to yourself, and you weren’t sure if that was a good or bad thing. And when Link sensed that you stopped, turning around to face you, you're sure the bags under your eyes, slouched posture, and how you could barely keep your eyes open screamed everything you felt. The bone deep ache that just wouldn’t go away.
Still, he grabbed your hand. His calloused palm slotted in perfectly with your own. As he pulled you past everyone’s house, stopping in front of his own you almost gave in, too tired to fight back. Instead he quickly went in and came out with two bowls of what you assume is stew. You quickly grabbed the bowls before he could spill them on his climb down. Once more, he grabbed his bowl, then your hand, and pulled you towards the spring.
The crystal water lapped at your feet after you pulled your boots and socks off, curling your toes in the pristine sand. Both you and Link sat in silence as you ate, the starry sky peaking through the trees that swayed with the small breeze. Slowly, you found your body unwinding, each tense muscle coming loose with each small wave of the spring. The stew was good as well, filling your stomach with something other than the basics you had been forcing yourself to eat. You scowled into your bowl when you realized you were feeling better than you had in a long time, and that always seemed to be when Link was by your side.
Like he could sense your thoughts, he scooted closer to you, arm to arm, nearly thigh to thigh. Lifting your gaze, you were met with his worried one. His eyes searched your face like he was deciphering a language only he could…and in a sense maybe that was true. With a full belly and an exhausted body and mind, your eyes started to droop and you leaned against the blonde next to you. No matter what, he was still Link, still your childhood friend that you grew up with, and you’d always cherish him.
“I missed you,” He muttered, gently brushing away any hair that managed to fall onto your face.
“I missed you too,” You mumbled back, the warmth of his body inviting you into a peaceful sleep. A comforting silence had fallen over you both, making it harder for your struggle to stay awake.
“I love you,” Was all your mind could barely comprehend before you fell unconscious.
When you awoke the next morning, you half expected to be by the spring with a sleeping Link by your side. But to your disappointment you were in your room. Of course, being the gentleman he is, he carried you home and even tucked you in. You’d have half the mind to be embarrassed, but this was Link we’re talking about. You both had done and said more embarrassing things around each other than you’d like to admit. And when you opened the curtains you nearly had a heart attack realizing you were late as the sun had already risen a good amount. You shuffled around the room and put on your clothes, trying to ignore the thought that Link had undressed you for your comfort the previous night. Stumbling into your last boot, you ran as fast as you could, ignoring your rumbling stomach in favor of not getting scolded. (Not that Fado would actually scold you, if anything he’d be thanking Ordona for letting you rest a bit).
Arriving at the ranch, apologies lining your tongue, you felt your mouth drop at the sight of all the Links already at work. The smallest Link, Wind, if you remember correctly, dropped his crate at the sight of you and ran over. You winced, hoping that the crate didn’t contain eggs or glass, but got sidetrack as the young boy smiled brightly at you, asking a ton of questions right out of the gate.
“Good morning! Did Twi go out with you last night? What did y’all do? He seemed pretty happy when he came back. How did you both meet? Are you both–” Wind was quickly cut off as an older Link approached with a stern look.
“Wind, you know better than to toss crates around,” Time scolded. “And don’t overwhelm the young one with too many questions. Now go and finish stacking those crates.” With a pout, the kid gave you one last look before dashing back to his previous task, leaving you and the older male alone. Helplessly, you watched all the chores you typically get done ten times faster than you’ve ever seen, feeling unsure what to do without work. Seeming to sense your cluelessness, Time spoke up once more, mentioning that Twilight had stayed behind at his house. And so, you found yourself wandering over, only to pout this time. Link was watching Talon’s new skills with the sword, all the village kids watching them both.
Beth had spotted you first, shouting your name and waving at you with a giant smile, “Look! Link’s back and he’s gonna spar with Talon!” “Spar?” You repeated as you blinked. Talon was in no way shape or form ready to spar yet, but Link had a sparkle in his eye that only spelled mischief when your gazes met. Talon was jumping up and down, excited to not only see Link again, but to do something you had been holding off on. With a resigned sigh, you only shook your head, letting out a short ‘okay.’ The two got into a fighting stance, and you had to fight the itch to correct Talon’s incorrect posture. Instead, you continued to watch from the sidelines as Link let Talon start with the first strike. The skill difference was obvious, and it was clear that Link was going easy, but in the end, Talon ended up knocked to the ground. And as you expected, Talon complained, waving off his own mistakes and pinning it onto someone or something else. To your surprise, instead of asking for a rematch, Talon ran off with his friends following shortly after.
Bumping your shoulder slightly, Link drew your attention back to him, a boyish smile resting on his lips. After all this time, all the hardships he went through, he still managed to have a young air around him. You weren’t sure how he did it. You reciprocated the gesture, bumping into his shoulder slightly harder.
“I don’t know what to do,” You couldn’t help but confess. “All the work is getting done and I feel like I should be doing something.” Link looked up with a hum, tapping his chin in thought for a few seconds. That cunning grin once again settled on his face before he grabbed your hand and sprinted towards the springs.
“The springs, again?” You asked with a short laugh. “Didn’t we do this last night?” You felt your skin prickle as he sent you a devious look, picking you up like you were nothing and tossing you into the water. Thankfully, he threw you into the deeper part, or else that fall would’ve surely hurt. Wiping the water from your eyes, you sent the man your best glare you could muster, grabbing the front of his tunic and pulling him in further. In retaliation, he sent a wave of water at your face with a chuckle. With a huff, you tried to do the same, but the wave wasn’t as big as you’d like it to have been and you both laughed. You felt the darkness that had enveloped your heart slowly melt away as both you and Link played like you used to when merely children. Something you had missed dearly in the past few years.
As your playful fight slowed, you couldn’t stop yourself from watching Link, or how the water fell from his hair and dripped back into the spring. The last three words he muttered last night rung back through your head. All the love and adoration you held for him gathered into a pool, ready to spill past your lips, and who were you to fight that? Not you, you thought as you eyed his lovely smile, one you would die for.
“I love you,” You stated, heart beating wildly as Link turned to face you. At first he looked at you with shock, but that melted into pure warmth and affection as he waded closer. So close that you felt your body warm at the mere thought of his touch, felt your heart quiver in anticipation for his next move, and stomach flutter with all the love you held.
It was silly. When you were younger, you recalled that you’d pretend to be his spouse and play house. How you stated you’d both get married someday, and how he would always go along with your nonsense. You said all those things with your full chest before, but now saying your true feelings felt like a battle. It made everything more real, and as you grew older you assumed he had never taken your childish ramblings seriously. Yet you seemed to be proven wrong as he gently cupped your face with one hand, the touch sending heat blazing throughout your entire being. As he leaned in closer, you closed your eyes, expecting a kiss…only for him to nuzzle your nose with his own. Yet the disappointment was drowned with the fuzzy butterflies that flew in your stomach at such an intimate act. One so loving and pure.
Link’s actions screamed volumes louder than any words could as he littered both your cheeks, forehead, nose, chin, or anywhere he could reach with kisses. A bittersweet reminder of the day he came back after twilight had taken over. And just like that day, you reciprocated, this time with a heart full of light and happiness. Instead of ending it there, you pulled him in for a proper kiss, one you had wanted for as long as you could remember. He wasn’t as surprised by your actions as you wished he’d be as he reciprocated without hesitation. You didn’t mind his chapped lips, or the way you both kissed clumsily, because this was Link. Your Link. And you wouldn’t have him any other way.
And once you both pulled away breathless, ignoring how you both still stood in the spring with sopping wet clothes sticking to your skin, you took in the other's presence. The warmth you both offered each other, the happiness, the love, the need and the want. You were like two pieces to a puzzle, a part of you missing with the other gone. And in that moment, everything felt like it clicked into place. He may still need to continue his journey, but you knew that he’d always find his way back to you, just like he’d always know where to find you.

Perfect(Seth Clearwater)
Paring: Cullen!Imprint!Reader x Seth Clearwater
Summary: Seth never expected to turn into a wolf, let alone imprint. But after the new born army Seth imprents on the youngest Cullen. they become love sick puppies and just try to have the time of their lives at Edward's wedding. (sorry for any spelling errors)
Twilight Master list
I found a love, for me
Darling, just dive right in and follow my lead
Well, I found a girl, beautiful and sweet
Oh, I never knew you were the someone waiting for me
Me and Seth hung close together as we walked around the sea of people, Bella and Edward's wedding reception was going off without a hitch. I didn't really want to be here, I hate huge croweds, but it was my big brother's wedding. It also helped I was with Seth.
He knew I didn't really want to do this, so he succeeded at spending the whole making me laugh. During the ceremony we couldn't stop giggling and making jokes about Bella, Sue had to literally sit in between us in the middle of my brothers vows. She found out that separating us wasn't gonna stop us.
This was Seth's first real party and he was always willing to try anything. We were know as the the sweet and innocent couple, we do are best to uphold that name.
“you guys are so cute together” Rose smiled, you knew Seth must be doing something right if someone like Rosalie saw him more as just a 'mutt'.
We tried to run off and get some cupcakes but Rosalie stopped us to get a photo. The first one was sweet but then they started to slowly become unhinged to the point Rose dismissed us. Emmett laughed as we went to sneak some cupcakes behind Alice's back.
'Cause we were just kids when we fell in love, Not knowing what it was. I will not give you up this time
But darling, just kiss me slow
Your heart is all I own
And in your eyes, you're holding mine...
If your wondering I'm the only human in the Cullen family and the only one who has actual documents of Carlisle and Esme adopting me.
I didn't know much about the pack till I befriend Jacob. Dispite my family he had a soft spot for me, I met Seth threw him even. Of course I didn't get to officially meet Seth intill the newborn Fiasco.
What my family nor the pack was prepared for was Seth imprinting on me. Jacob had invited me to a bonfire with the pack and that's when it happened. This of corse cuased some problems with the treaty and all, but with the newborn army coming everyone let it go.
I never felt so happy to have him, I watched my siblings get married and fall in love and I was left by myself, thst was unitll Seth. He had my heart from the start.
Baby, I'm dancing in the dark
With you between my arms
Barefoot on the grass
Listening to our favourite song
When you said you looked a mess
I whispered underneath my breath, But you heard it
Darling, you look perfect tonight...
“come on! Dance with me” I said pulling him towrds the swarm of other couples. Seth laughed and spung me around before pulling me to his chest. I wrapped my arms around his neck and we swayed to the music in a uncoordinated way, we didn't have to dance like Baby and Johnny from Diry Dancing to have fun.
He took my arms and we just kinda playfully bounced around and bumped each other. Things didn't really calm down till a slow song started to play, wonderful tonight by Eric Clapton started to play.
“may I have this dance?” Seth playfully bowed. “you may” he smiled and pulled me to his chest and way slowly swayed to the soft love song.
Well, I found a woman, stronger than anyone I know
She shares my dreams, I hope that someday I'll share her home
I found a lover, to carry more than just my secrets
To carry love, to carry children of our own...
I looked into his chocolate eyes never wanting this to end. We never really had a moment that didn't involve danger, so it was nice to just have a night of fun and laughter.
“have you ever thought about having a wedding?” Seth asked taking my hand in his and twirled me. I smiled softly. “of course, but we're too young to get married” I chuckled.
He smiled. “I know that...I want get a job and a maybe a small house on the res for us before we do all that”
“sounds like a plan” I smiled.
I knew in the future when it came down to either Seth or the family, I would chose Seth. I love my parents and siblings, they gave me a second chance when they adopted me. But then we move all the time and I'm not taking Seth away from his sister and mother.
We are still kids, but we're so in love
Fighting against all odds
I know we'll be alright this time
Darling, just hold my hand
Be my girl, I'll be your man
I see my future in your eyes
“you got somthing on your face” I said to Seth as we were eating the cupcakes we we're not supposed to eat yet.
“where?” he asked licking the frosting off this thumb.
I smiled and wiped the frosting on his nose. “there”
“hey” he laughed and his eyes went crossed to look at his now white nose. He stuck his toung out and tried to get it. I laughed at his failed attempts, he gave me an 'oh yeah?' look and wipped some frosting on my cheek. I laughed and pushed him away.
He stumbled backwards and accidentally bumped into Alice. “sorry Alice” he quickly said. She rolled her eyes.
“you guys aren't supposed to eat those yet and please act your ages” I rolled my eyes, Alice wasn't used to Seth yet but I didn't care what she thought. I would fight Seth for as long as it takes.
“we are acting our ages, we're at the prime of our youth and we only live once” I said smiled big, Seth nodded agreeing.
I ment the 'only live once' because that's what I wanted, as much as I loved my family I want to grow old with Seth and have a happy, normal future with him.
Baby, I'm dancing in the dark,
With you between my arms
Barefoot on the grass
Listening to our favorite song
When I saw you in that dress, looking so beautiful
I don't deserve this... Darling, you look perfect tonight
“have I told you how pretty you look tonight” Seth asked as we walked around the house, the music was getting old so we went somewhere more quiter.
I blushed. “Yes, about a million times” I playfully blumbed his shoulder.
“well it's not enough.. I don't deserve to be in the presents of such beauty” he said in his best medieval voice as he playful bowed to me then pulled me into his arms.
I have faith in what I see
Now I know I have met an angel in person, And she looks perfect...
Everything seemed to be perfect when I was with him and even if we were just 'kids' I couldn't wait for the future... And whatever desserts we can steal behind Alice's back tonight.

Cold One. (Chapter 2)
Anyone but her.
PAIRING - Volturi!Riki x Cullen!fem!reader
GENRE - Twilight AU
CHAPTER WC - 7801 (I got carried away)
WARNINGS - Vampires, graphic violence, blood, death (like a lot of it). Very plot heavy. Morally grey Riki (this is a complete work of fiction and is in no way a representation of him).
☽✦✧†✧✦☾✦✧†✧✦☽✦✧†✧✦☾✦✧†✧✦☽✦✧†✧✦☾
The throne room is silent, save for the footsteps of a messenger approaching the dais. The hooded figure kneels before the three kings. Aro, perched on his throne, eagerly extends a cold hand for the messenger to press his own against.
Excitement flickers in Aro’s eyes—then, he laughs.
“Well, well,” he muses. “Carlisle has turned another for the first time nearly a century.”
Riki, leaning against the carved stone walls with his arms crossed, finally looks up. Very little intrigues him after exactly 200 years of this life, but hopefully this is something as rousing as the Cullens’ hybrid debacle from 18 years ago.
Caius scoffs in distaste. “I assume this one will be another vegetarian?”
“If Carlisle turned them, he must believe they’ll adapt to his way of life,” Jane says simply from the side, youthful face as stony as ever.
“Pity. Setting up yet another for an eternity of insatiability.” Marcus shakes his head.
Aro hums. “What do you think, Mind Stealer?”
Riki’s crimson gaze meets the ancient ones. “He’s sired several, before.” He shrugs.
“Such apathy,” Caius sneers.
“Someone has to keep an eye on the bigger picture.”
Through his several altercations with them, Riki knows that this coven doesn’t seek trouble, but they’re always at the center of it, and it always finds its way to Volterra.
They are a family of honor. As honorable as he once was.
☽✦✧†✧✦☾✦✧†✧✦☽✦✧†✧✦☾✦✧†✧✦☽✦✧†✧✦☾
Present day.
The crack of thunder drowns out the sound of the victim’s screams.
You finish feasting on the redhead, and toss her corpse into a nearby dumpster like she’s nothing but an empty sack.
To be fair, that is true.
Let the cops find her. Even on the off chance that they could trace this back to you, then what? You can now take 20 of their strongest in a heartbeat.
As you saunter out of the alleyway, a lone car drifts by, music playing in the dead of night.
“Ooh, you set my soul alight,” you sing along to the familiar tune beneath your breath, off-key.
This is what sets your soul alight. The hunt. The taste running down your throat like no expensive champagne ever has.
Your heart? A different story. Perhaps it’s your human self’s dedication to saving lives rather than ending them trying to peek through.
But your heart stopped a month ago—so it certainly does not win this battle. It is merely a symbol, just like your humanity altogether.
You are now certain of three things.
First is that you are now a vampire.
Second is that your parents were murdered by vampires.
And third is that you are now a murderer.
You strut without a care in the world. Even if someone were to discern your features despite the dark, Vancouver is full of interesting characters. No one would bat an eye at some messy hair, and you could easily play off your blood-stained lips and red eyes as some new goth makeup trend.
You consider chasing the car’s driver, but you’re full.
For now.
So why you ended up finding yourself at your aunt and uncle’s neighborhood? You can’t really tell—you’re just going off on the instincts that have carried you thus far.
There weren’t any street cameras back when you lived here, but just in case there are now, you use your speed to move so fast they wouldn’t even be able to catch a single glimpse of you, and you enter the damned house without a sound.
The only problem, probably, with being a newborn is how heightened your emotions are. This isn’t you, (Y/N), you have to endure, Carlisle tried to tell you the last time you saw him.
But he doesn’t know a single thing about you.
He doesn’t understand the bitterness you carry.
You’re 11 years old, standing in this same doorway, clutching your school bag that’s soaked from the rain because they conveniently forgot to pick you up.
“I don’t know why you insist on acting so pitiful,” your aunt sneers, “if you weren’t so ungrateful, perhaps we’d actually want to help you.”
She wipes imaginary sweat from her brow as she flicks through primetime channels. “Do you know how hard it is to take care of a child that isn’t even ours? We had plans, (Y/N). You ruined them. We should’ve sent you to a foster home.”
You’d scrub the floors until your fingers ached, only for her to find some invisible speck of dirt and make you do it all over again. You remember how they’d lock the fridge at night, how they’d turn off the hot water before you could shower, how they always reminded you that you don’t belong there.
And your uncle’s attention would only come in the form of disappointment. “The chores aren’t done? Didn’t we feed you last night? Maybe you need to start earning your keep before you start demanding so much.”
But the chores were always done—just not in his wife’s eyes. Demanding so much? The only thing they give you is a roof over your head—and even that comes with strings attached.
You never forget.
And now you truly don’t belong in this house, so let’s see if they recognize you.
Your lips curl into something between a grin and a snarl in preparation as you hear footsteps coming down the stairs.
“(Y/N?)” Your uncle gasps as he rounds the entryway.
You can only imagine what he’s seeing. It’s what you saw that first time you looked in a mirror after you woke up. You, but not really you. A version so polished it almost gives off the uncanny valley effect.
You wonder if he noticed your eyes. If they’re unsettling him as much as the dreaded man’s did to you.
“Hi, uncle!” You chirp.
He gulps. “Um. How did you get in? We had the locks changed years ago.”
You inwardly scoff. Of course they did. Surely, the second your 16-year-old self left, they decided that you’ll never be welcome here again. It was probably your aunt’s idea—he’s always been her puppet.
You’re glad you’re seeing him first. That way, you can save the best for last.
“Hm? Aren’t you happy to see me?” You ask, faux confusion dripping from your voice.
Your uncle takes a step back, bumping into the console table behind him. The lamp wobbles, but he doesn’t seem to notice. His eyes are locked onto yours.
Then—her voice.
“Who the hell are you talking to?”
Right on cue.
You hear her heels clicking as she approaches, the sound triggering something deep in your bones. An old instinct, long since buried. But that fear isn’t yours anymore.
She steps into view, arms crossed, annoyance painted across her face. “Oh, it’s you.” Her gaze flicks over your bloodstained clothes, your too-perfect features, your red eyes. She scoffs. “God, you look ridiculous.”
You grin. She has no idea.
Your uncle makes a noise—half gasp, half whimper. She turns to him, irritated. “What is your problem?”
That’s when you strike.
You’re on him in an instant, fingers wrapping around his throat, lifting him clean off the ground. His feet kick uselessly.
“You should’ve been nicer to me. I would’ve spared you.” You fake-pout.
A choked gurgle escapes him, cut short when your teeth sink into his flesh.
The first time you were forced to scrub wine stains out of the carpet, you cried. You scrubbed and scrubbed, but the red wouldn’t come out.
Now, you don’t care if the stains never fade.
Your aunt screams.
You drop his lifeless body and turn to her, licking the blood off your lips.
She stumbles back, trembling, clutching the silk of her robe as if it’ll protect her. “What—what are you—”
You mimic her earlier words, tilting your head. “God, you look ridiculous.”
She turns to run. You let her. For just a second.
She barely makes it three steps before you cut her off, slamming the door shut with one hand.
She gasps, spinning around, eyes wide with terror. “Please—”
“Please?” You chuckle. “Please?” You lean in, voice dropping to a whisper. “You never listened when I pleaded.”
Then, you take what’s yours.
Afterwards, you finally step outside, not caring enough to hide the bodies the way your parents’ killers did.
The night air is cold and crisp, carrying the faint scent of rain-soaked pavement and something else—something vaguely familiar. You stiffen.
“Newborns. Always so messy.”
The voice is warm, teasing. You turn just as a towering figure steps out of the shadows, arms crossed over his chest, dimples flashing.
“Hey, little sis.”
Your jaw clenches. “Emmett.”
From behind him, Rosalie emerges, golden hair cascading over her shoulder, arms folded like she’d rather be anywhere else. Her sharp eyes flick to the bodies inside the window, then back to you.
“I see subtlety isn’t your thing,” she remarks dryly.
Your lip curls. “What are you two doing here?”
“Looking for you,” Emmett answers. “Carlisle was hoping you’d come back on your own, but…” He gestures vaguely at the crime scene. “Yeah. That wasn’t happening.”
You scoff. “And what, you’re here to convince me? Because I’m not interested.”
Rosalie rolls her eyes. “You’re barely over a month old, and you’re already acting like you know everything.”
“I know enough,” you snap.
Emmett sighs, stepping closer. “Look, I get it. You’re angry. You think we don’t understand, but we do. We’ve been there.” He gestures between himself and Rosalie. “But this isn’t the way.”
You bark out a laugh. “And what is? Playing house with a bunch of self-righteous hypocrites?”
Emmett doesn’t flinch, but there’s something softer in his gaze now. Something that makes your throat tighten.
“Come back with us,” he says. “Just for a little while. Hear Carlisle out.”
Your eyes flick between them. Rosalie’s expression is unreadable, but Emmett… Emmett is genuine.
You glance back at the house, at the bodies cooling inside.
Then, after a long beat, you sigh. “…Fine.”
You follow the couple as they run to Victoria, your feet taking you faster than a helicopter could have. The ocean breeze whips against your face as you make the leap from the mainland to Vancouver Island, landing on the rocky shore with grace.
Within moments, the Cullen house is in sight, nestled in the trees, glowing softly against the dark night. Emmett and Rosalie lead you inside, not a word spoken, but the tension in the air thick enough to taste. You cross the threshold into a house that doesn’t feel like home but feels oddly familiar all the same.
Carlisle is the first to greet you. He’s calm, even in the face of your obvious disdain. “(Y/N),” he says with a warm tone. “We’re glad you’re here. Let’s sit down, please.”
You look around at the family, noting their stiff postures, their eyes full of… concern. Each couple stands off to a side, watching you, even the dhampir girl with brown eyes with her werewolf—now human—mate, who has long since healed from the tiger shifter attack since the last time you saw him.
Carlisle gestures for you to sit, and you do so reluctantly, crossing your arms. “We need to talk.”
You don’t respond at first, your eyes narrowing as you keep your attention on him. Carlisle continues, his voice steady. “There were questions about you at the hospital. They asked if we had seen you. I told them you had to leave suddenly. Your uncle fell ill, so you went to take care of him.”
You freeze for a second, a bitter laugh slipping from your lips. He did indeed fall.
“Does Dr. Park know?” Not that it matters. It’s not like you’ll be returning to that open buffet of death.
Carlisle nods. “He knows, but he can’t say anything without directly implicating himself. It’s why he just… let us go.”
“Our chief convinced the tigers to make a treaty with the Cullens—with you—to leave them be as long as they no longer turn anybody else or drink from locals,” Jacob, the wolf, speaks up.
Which drags your eyes once more to Renesmee, next to him. There is blood coursing through her veins, and her scent is very sweet. It doesn’t beckon you as strongly as human blood does, but it doesn’t stop you from looking.
Bella follows your eyes, and her head whips toward you instantly, eyes narrowing. “Stay away from her,” she warns, voice low and dangerous.
You raise an eyebrow and lean back in your seat with an exaggerated casualness. “Relax, Bella,” your voice drips with amusement as Renesmee rolls her eyes, her vampiric side giving her enough courage to not be phased by your red gaze. “She smells good like perfume, not like food.”
She’s still tense, growling ever so quietly, but her shoulders relax a bit.
You roll your eyes and turn to Carlisle. “I’m obviously not welcome here. Can I go now?”
He sighs. “You are always welcome here, (Y/N). You’re one of us now—this can be your home. We really needed to make sure that you were safe.”
“Safe?” You echo with an incredulous laugh. “I am safe. You want to weaken me with your animal blood.”
Carlisle’s eyes darken, but he doesn’t push. Instead, he waits for you to continue, and you do, your emotions swelling as the words slip out without thought.
“Do you know what my entire life has been about, doctor?” you ask, the last word bleeding with mockery. “It’s been about studying so I could get away from my aunt and uncle, or wondering what happened to my parents—why they were murdered, why I was left behind, and working on how I could be the savior I couldn’t be as a three-year-old. But now? Now I know, and now I can live.”
The room goes silent. The family watches you, each of them processing what you’ve said. You don’t look at them as they exchange glances. You don’t need to. Your mind is already made up.
You stand to leave, but Carlisle doesn’t back down. “I understand you’re angry. But what happened to your family… it doesn’t have to define who you are now.
“What you call weakness, is actually anything but. It’s the strength to endure, to be able to live publicly. You can learn to temper the cravings, if you would just allow yourself to try—you’d thank yourself for it, in the long run. And you’ll never have to be alone.”
You can feel the anger rising within you again. You’ve heard this speech before. The right way. The safe way. You’re done listening to those words.
“I don’t feel alone,” you growl, eyes locking with Carlisle’s, and your voice comes out cold, controlled. “And don’t treat me like I’m broken, because I’m not. I’m free.”
You’re not sure if you’re convincing them or yourself. If this is true freedom, or if you’re letting yourself into a new cage, one barred by thirst.
The Cullens are silent, watching you carefully, but you don’t let your voice waver. Every single one of your senses is telling you what you want, so no one is going to take that from you.
“Don’t worry.” You turn to them one last time. “For saving me, I’ll respect you enough to not drink from locals.”
You step outside, where the only sound accompanying you is the crunch of leaves and snaps of twigs beneath your feet.
Until another set of footsteps catches up to you, and you groan.
“I know what it’s like.”
You turn around to see the quiet one—Jasper.
“The hunger. It’s like an intrinsic part of you that you can’t outrun. And I didn’t. When I first turned, I couldn’t fathom living without it. Every human scent, every drop of blood, it felt like I was drowning in it… and I enjoyed that drowning.”
You quirk an eyebrow.
He groans, as though remembering his red-eyed days pains him. Whether out of temptation or guilt, though, you can’t tell.
“It wasn’t like I decided to become vegetarian overnight,” he continues. “At first, I kept giving in. I slipped up, again and again. But I needed to learn that I’m now different, and that I can’t spend an eternity surviving instead of living.”
You cross your arms, but it feels like your armor is starting to crack.
“It was about progress. Day by day, it’d get easier. Of course, I had Alice through it all.” He smiles fondly at the ground at the thought of the pixie girl. “She was my anchor.”
You don’t respond right away. You feel your jaw tighten as you scoff inwardly. An anchor. Right. How nice for him. Alice might have been there to hold him steady, but you? Nada. Romance, connection, it all seems so… impossible with your current circumstances. You’ll never have someone like Alice, and you sure as hell won’t let yourself rely on anyone else. Not now.
Jasper watches you closely, sensing your hesitation, but he doesn’t push. He simply waits.
“I don’t know if I can do it,” you say, the words leaving your mouth before you can stop them. The idea of controlling the thirst, figuring out a whole other way to live this life that still feels so foreign, it’s completely overwhelming.
Jasper gives a quiet, knowing smile. “I can train you, if you want, because I didn’t know if I could, either. But I didn’t let myself give up. And neither should you. Not if you want to be more than just alive.”
For a moment, silence hangs between you, and then, finally, you nod. “Okay. I’ll let you train me. But don’t expect me to be easy to work with.”
His grin widens just slightly. “I wouldn’t expect anything less from a newborn.”
A week.
Two weeks into this stupid training.
And it’s not getting any better.
You’ve always tried to be someone who dealt with things head-on, but this… this is something else. The thirst is an ever-present beast, gnawing at your insides, and yet, no matter how hard you try, the animal blood just doesn’t sit right with you.
Jasper’s patience is a constant, though. Every time you fail to control your desire for human blood, he’s there, offering gentle guidance, but it feels like you’re fighting a losing battle. And you hate it.
“Come on, (Y/N),” Jasper urges, his voice calm but persistent. “You’ve got this. Just focus on the hunt.”
You growl, fangs flashing as you push through the motion, trying to force yourself to focus on the deer in front of you. But every time you go in for the kill, the blood is just… wrong. The taste is foreign and metallic, the warmth lacking. This hunt isn’t the same.
“I don’t get it,” you mutter under your breath, stepping back from the animal. “Why can’t I just do it my way?”
Jasper sighs. “Because, (Y/N), that way isn’t sustainable. You’re a doctor, for fuck’s sake. You will have to live with the guilt for eternity once the newborn frenzy passes.”
You were a doctor.
You’ve been trying, for weeks now, to make the animal blood work, but it’s just not you—not the current you, at least, and to hell with that meek, old version. It’s too bland, too unsatisfying. Like trying to replace a steak with a bowl of cereal.
“This isn’t living.” You shake your head. “This is sacrifice.”
Before Jasper can respond, a smooth voice breaks through the tension.
“What a nice surprise!”
You both turn to see a black-haired girl leaning lazily against a shadowed tree, arms crossed, watching you intently with a smirk playing at her lips. You catch the now-familiar smell of immortality. A vampire with the relaxed air of someone who’s seen a lot and doesn’t care to hide it.
Jasper’s eyes narrow slightly, recognizing her. “Misora.”
“Jasper.” She nods coolly, pushing herself off the tree and taking a few steps forward, her gaze shifting to you. “And who’s this? A new recruit?”
You glare but say nothing.
“Carlisle turned her a couple months ago, and I’m trying to teach her how to hunt animals.” He turns to you. “Misora is a nomad. We traveled with the Mexican coven around the same time, over a century ago.”
“Still not fond of animal blood, huh?” Her smirk widens, voice dripping with casual amusement. “You know,” she continues, her voice low and thoughtful, “forcing yourself to drink from animals is never going to feel right. It’s unnatural. But that doesn’t mean you have to give in to the bloodlust completely. You just need to learn how to control it in moderation.”
Jasper stiffens at her words, but Misora doesn’t seem to care. Her gaze never leaves yours, her confidence only growing as she speaks. “You’ve got that thirst in you. I can see it in your eyes. But the trick is not to drown in it. You can learn to kill subtly. Take what you need, don’t waste. You’d be surprised how much you can get from a little. You’re a predator, after all. You just have to think like one.”
She walks by close enough for her red eyes to shine beneath the afternoon sun, and for her skin to sparkle as brightly as you and Jasper’s.
You look at her, stunned. “You… drink from humans.”
“Of course I do,” she responds with a chuckle. “Why would I waste time hunting animals? Humans are far more interesting. And, let’s face it, they’re a lot more filling.”
Jasper steps between the two of you, his eyes flashing with warning. “I don’t think this is the kind of training (Y/N) needs.”
Misora raises a brow, clearly not intimidated. “Oh, I’m sure you’ve taught her all about controlling her impulses, Jasper. But there’s a world out there beyond your little rules. She needs to learn how to survive in it. You can’t live in a bubble forever.”
She is speaking your language.
“You’ll never feel alive if you’re constantly fighting yourself. Live for what makes you feel whole,” she says with a knowing look.
You feel the pull of her words, and for a moment, you’re caught between the two very different perspectives: the Cullens’ careful, controlled existence and Misora’s unapologetic freedom.
You turn your eyes to Jasper. “Well. I already gave your way a try.”
The girl grins as you walk over to where she stands in the clearing.
“I’m gonna teach her the Nishimura way,” she laughs in Jasper’s direction and drapes a hand over your shoulder as she leaves, and without a second look, you choose to follow.
Your life is too long for you to not explore every option.
Over the span of just a week, the girl helps you adapt to the art of subtleties—of doing what you want, but having the peace of mind that you did not cause a ruckus.
Not that you’d ever felt guilt at your messiness, but you’ll take the Cullens’ word for it that you’ll be hit with more sense after the newborn frenzy passes.
See? You did gain something from the righteousness they spewed.
“So where are you from?” You ask your new mentor.
“Japan.”
“A long way from home, huh?”
She remains quiet for a second, jaw clenched, not turning to you. “There is nothing that makes it a home for me there, anymore. Hasn’t been in over 150 years. It’s why I travel all over, except Japan.”
“How did you turn?”
Misora doesn’t speak right away, her lips pressing into a thin line. For a moment, you wonder if you’ve overstepped.
“I was sick,” she finally says. “I knew I didn’t have long.”
Something tightens in your frozen chest. “What kind of sick?”
“Didn’t have a name for it, back then, but it was the same thing my father had. My body was weak. My bones ached, my breath was short. Healers tried, but I always knew.” She shrugs. “So I lived as much as I could. Climbed mountains, even when my lungs burned. Ate what I wanted, danced even when I was coughing blood.” She pauses. “I wasn’t afraid. I made my peace with dying. I was surrounded by my mother, my sister, my friends, and if I’d died, I would’ve been with my late father and brother.”
Her smile is all sorrow, but you can do nothing but listen with furrowed brows.
She lets out a short, humorless laugh. “But I woke up, and I was this.”
You don’t have to ask what this means. The blood-red of her eyes, the effortless grace in her every movement, the unnatural stillness that clings to her. The inescapable weight of eternity.
“I don’t even know who did it,” she admits, voice bitter. “One moment, I was dying, and then… I wasn’t. Instead, I was forced to live long enough to be the one watching everyone I love die.”
You don’t know what to say. You think you should say something, offer some kind of condolence, but what would that even be worth? Misora doesn’t seem like she’d appreciate it anyway.
“I hate this,” she says, her voice raw, but her expression carefully blank. “I hate this immortality. It’s a curse. A joke. But I have to make the most of it, I guess.”
You glance down for a second, before deciding to ask the question you’ve been wondering for a while. “So why do you bother being discrete? Fuck this world and its rules. It’s not like anybody could harm you, anyways.”
“Oh, but there are people who can.”
You frown. The Cullens—Carlisle, especially—always made it sound like it’s morality.
“If we’re that powerful, we should be able to handle it.”
Misora laughs—actually laughs—but it’s sharp-edged. “Tell that to the Volturi.”
“The who?”
“The leeches who think they’re kings,” she says dryly. “They’re the reason we hide. The moment a vampire gets too flashy, too ambitious, too noticeable—” she drags her thumb across her throat. “Gone.”
You tilt your head. “And they’re strong enough to make everyone listen?”
“They have numbers. And power.” Her pale fingers flex at her sides. “There are vampires in their ranks who can do more than just be strong and fast. They can blind you, torture you, there’s even one they call the Mind Stealer, or the Puppeteer—very few people actually knows his name, but he can make you do whatever he wants with a single thought. If he wanted, he could make you kill yourself, and you’d do it with a smile.”
A chill runs down your spine, remembering the moments you behaved quite noticeably. Did Emmett and Rosalie clean up after you?
Misora scoffs. “Cowards, all of them. They hide behind their pretty little powers, thinking they’re gods.” Her lip curls. “Aro, their dear leader, is the worst of them all. Slimy little bastard.”
You smirk at her words. “Not a fan, I take it?”
She laughs, sharp and cold. “Not in the slightest.” There’s a dangerous glint in her eye. “If I was able to, I’d rip those smug assholes apart, just to watch the dust settle.”
So you follow in the cynical, but lively vampire’s footsteps.
In the span of another week, you feel more spirited than you did in the two months before. Hell, in the 22 years before.
Every night, you and Misora scour various cities, blending into the nightlife, finding your prey with ease. Her laughter is infectious, and her confidence bleeds into your own.
Tonight is no different.
You lay your lovely squad of victims near a warehouse deep in the city—somewhere no one should care to notice, but you’ll clean up after yourselves regardless.
Then you indulge.
Your movements are gradually growing more precise, with razor-sharp instincts. You sink your teeth in before the woman can scream, drinking deep, feeling the familiar rush flood your senses. The warm tang of fresh blood coats your tongue, leaving you buzzing with energy and satisfaction.
You wipe the corner of your mouth, chuckling at something Misora’s saying, but the laughter dies in your throat when moonlight casts a silvery glow over the woman crumpled at your feet.
A middle-aged woman. Her face is ashen, eyes wide open, unseeing, accusing. Your hands shake as you take her in. The faded scars along her limbs. The slight dent in her chest where a surgeon once worked to save her life.
Your hands worked to save her life.
The memory crashes into you like the most vicious wave. Around six months ago, your first week as an intern at Victoria General. A late-night car crash. Blood pooling on the gurney.
You’d stabilized her, alongside Dr. Cullen.
And now, you’ve killed her.
Your breath hitches, the remnants of her blood burning like acid in your throat. Memories flood back—the beeping monitors, the tense urgency as you prepped her for surgery, the relief that had filled you when it went well.
Something inside you breaks. Your knees buckle, hitting the cold, hard ground. The weight of your actions crashes over you, suffocating and heavy. This isn’t just a random victim. This is someone whose life you held in your hands—twice.
“(Y/N)?” Misora’s voice is sharp, alarmed. She crouches beside you, her hands gripping your shoulders. “What’s wrong?”
You shove the body away like it burns. Your fingers tangle in your hair, pressing into your scalp, like you can dig into your own skull and tear this moment out.
But you were never able to do that.
“I—I knew her,” you choke out, eyes glued to the lifeless body. “I saved her. I saved her, and now she’s dead because of me.”
You were a doctor. You were supposed to save people. Not this.
The breaths you don’t even need, just taking them in because you need to feel human right now, rattle in your throat. The newborn instincts that have ruled you since your turning are drowned out by something deeper. A guilt so raw it feels like it’s killing you. The heightening of emotions makes your horror so unbearable, it’s sickening.
Misora’s expression shifts, her usual indifference faltering, shifting to worry, as she processes your turmoil. “Shit.”
The world tilts, spinning around you, and all you can see are the faces of the people you’ve drained. Were any of them people you saved, too? Are you undoing all the good you did in your human life?
Misora tugs at your arm, desperation seeping into her voice. “We need to get you out of here.”
You don’t resist as she hauls you to your feet, your body numb as she practically drags you away, leaving the carnage behind.
The night blurs past you.
And suddenly, you’re at the Cullens’ doorstep. The house is quiet, lights dim against the backdrop of the dense woods. Misora pounds on the door, her urgency echoing through the trees.
Esme answers, her eyes widening at the sight of you. Blood on your trembling hands. Red eyes shattered. “What happened?”
“She’s breaking down,” Misora blurts, a rare tremor in her voice. “She needs help, and I’ve never dealt with this before.”
The Cullens are there in an instant, guiding you inside, their faces painted with concern. But your gaze remains fixed on the floor, unable to lift the crushing weight pressing down on your chest.
For two days.
You don’t hunt.
You don’t move.
Carlisle sits with you in quiet understanding. Esme’s soft voice tries to soothe. Jasper subtly tamps down your emotions when they get too overwhelming. But none of it fixes the gaping hole inside you.
You don’t know how to live with this. You can only sit with the haze of guilt and horror hanging over you like a storm cloud.
But then Alice gasps.
Your head snaps up, and find her with her fingers gripping the back of the chair, knuckles like stone. Her golden eyes are distant, unfocused.
She’s the one that can see the future.
“Alice?” Jasper’s voice is low, worried.
Her voice is barely a whisper, laced with dread. “The Volturi. They’re coming.” She turns to you, eyes shaking. “For you.”
The room falls into a suffocating silence, everyone’s eyes on Alice as the reality of your actions settles over them. You share a glance with Misora, and it hits you.
You didn’t clean up after yourselves.
Now you’re gonna be the prey.
You brace yourself for the fallout. For Carlisle’s disappointment, for Esme’s soft but inevitable grief. Maybe even for Bella to suggest running and get her own little family away from everything, or for Rosalie to outwardly scoff that this isn’t her problem.
But Carlisle steps forward, his expression calm, steady. Decisive.
“Then we prepare.”
You blink. “What?”
His voice is firm, without hesitation. “We stand with you.”
Your chest tightens.
Esme nods, her warm, unyielding presence wrapping around you like a shield. “You’re family now,” she says softly, like it’s the simplest truth in the world. “And family doesn’t abandon each other.”
Alice finally blinks, the vision fading, and when she refocuses, there’s something sharp in her gaze. “They’re not here yet. We have time.”
Jasper crosses his arms, his posture shifting into something subtly protective. “Not much, though.”
Emmett grins, cracking his knuckles. “Doesn’t matter. Let them come.”
Rosalie exhales sharply through her nose, but there’s no venom in it. “You’re a reckless idiot,” she mutters, but then, after a long pause— “And if you die, it’ll reflect badly on us.”
The words are sharp, but the meaning underneath them is clear.
She’s in.
A lump forms in your throat. You don’t deserve this. You don’t deserve their loyalty. Not after what you’ve done.
But they’re giving it to you anyway.
“I’m staying too.”
You snap your head toward Misora.
She leans against the wall, arms crossed, but her usual smirk is gone. There’s no amusement in her eyes, no mischief. Only something cold. Determined.
“You don’t have to—”
“Oh, shut up.” She rolls her eyes. “I messed up right there with you. Do you think I’d let you die alone?” She shoves her hands into her pockets. “You’re annoying as hell, but you’re my friend, now. And besides, the Cullens are gonna need someone on their side who actually knows how to fight dirty.“
Jasper arches a brow but doesn’t argue.
Night shifts to dawn. Saturday shifts to Thursday, and the air isn’t any less thick with anticipation.
A suffocating stillness settles over the clearing outside the Cullens’ house. As the sun starts to rise, your skins begin to glimmer, a show of beauty despite being braced for a fight. With bodies coiled like springs, golden, crimson, and even two pairs of brown eyes lock onto the shadowy figures emerging from the trees.
A group of five. No fanfare, no grand entrance—just the soft rustling of their cloaks as they step forward, but the air of authority that radiates from them is unmistakable.
“Why is it always your family, Carlisle?” A blonde girl, barely a teenager, starts.
“Lovely to see you again, Jane.” He responds with a curt smile at her.
There’s a guy who’s identical to her, another guy who’s insanely tall. But it’s the fourth one that steals your breath away.
The moment you see him, something in you stops.
He is the most beautiful thing you’ve ever seen.
Of course, all vampires have an unnatural allure, but him? It’s something else entirely. Sharp jawline, full, rosy lips, hair as dark as the midnight sky. His presence is quiet, effortless, but every movement is precise, lethal in a way that doesn’t need to be flaunted. And his eyes—deep crimson, glinting like polished rubies beneath his hood—fix on you, unreadable.
Jewels. Not the bloodstains that are your eyes, that are the eyes of the vampire from your childhood, but rubies.
You should be afraid. You are afraid.
But a part of you can’t look away.
Until Misora gasps. A choked, disbelieving noise.
She’s staring at him, wide-eyed, something breaking across her face.
Edward stiffens beside you, his eyes flicking between them as he reads her thoughts. “Riki is your brother?” He murmurs.
Your gaze snaps to Edward, then back to Misora.
Misora, whose lips part soundlessly, whose expression is stuck somewhere between recognition and denial.
“Riki?” she echoes, like the name is foreign in her own mouth.
You whip back to her, confusion knotting in your chest. “I thought you told me your brother was dead.”
Her hands clench at her sides, voice barely above a heartbroken whisper, “My brother is dead.”
☽✦✧†✧✦☾✦✧†✧✦☽✦✧†✧✦☾✦✧†✧✦☽✦✧†✧✦☾
For the first time since Riki became the Volturi’s most valuable weapon, he is distracted.
He doesn’t get distracted. It’s not possible. His gift demands complete control. His mind is a fortress—impenetrable, untouchable, locked into his duty like an ironclad machine. He does not waver. He does not hesitate.
And yet.
When his eyes land on her, something fractures.
She is standing among the Cullens, body tensed. She’s afraid, but she’s hiding behind the bravado of a newborn. But all he can see is her eyes. They aren’t golden like the rest of the coven. But it’s not just the color that pulls him in—it’s the weight behind them, the quiet storm she carries in her gaze.
She is the most beautiful thing he has ever seen.
A foolish thought. A human thought. One that shouldn’t exist in his mind.
But it lingers.
Then, he sees the other pair of red eyes—a stranger vampire who didn’t stand with the Cullens 18 years ago.
At first, he doesn’t register who she is. Because this girl—no, this woman—is not Misora. Misora was fifteen. Misora was still human, still soft around the edges, still warm. This person standing before him is none of those things. She is tall, fully grown, her limbs no longer awkward with adolescence but poised, sharp. She does not have a heartbeat.
And yet—
He knows.
Knows in the way an older brother knows his little sister, no matter how many centuries, how much distance has warped them apart.
For the first time in decades, something cold and dangerous slides under Riki’s ribs. An emotion he was never supposed to feel again.
What have they done to you?
Jane is saying something. Bringing up all of the newborn’s victims.
Riki isn’t hearing her.
The words slip past him, distant and irrelevant. Even the steady presence of the guard beside him is background noise.
His focus is fixed entirely on his baby sister, except she’s not.
He takes a step forward, the movement small but purposeful. The Cullens tense. The girl with the beautifully scarred eyes watches him with something unreadable in her expression, but he barely registers it.
He does the only thing he knows how to do.
“Step forward.”
The words are soft. Deceptively calm.
Misora flinches.
And something inside Riki wrenches.
The command had been soft—barely more than a breath—but the moment the words leave his lips, he sees the exact second she realizes what’s happening.
She knows.
She knows what he’s doing. Who he is. What he is.
A flicker of resistance shudders through her, instinctive and useless. His grip is too strong. His gift—so carefully honed, so ruthlessly wielded—is absolute.
And still, she fights.
Misora has always been stubborn.
Even now, as her body jerks forward against her will, her jaw locks tight, her eyes burning with defiance. The others react immediately—a low growl from the golden-haired one, a blur of movement—protection, Riki realizes, they’re protecting her—but before anyone can intervene, Misora lifts a hand. Wait.
Riki swallows against something thick in his throat.
He tightens his hold, his gift slithering into her nervous system like an iron vice, seizing control of her vocal cords, pressing against her prefrontal cortex. His voice, when he speaks, is measured. “What is your name?”
Misora’s jaw locks.
But against her own will, against every ounce of resistance in her body, the truth gets wrung from her throat. “Misora Nishimura.”
The sound of her voice, of the name he hasn’t heard in centuries, his name, hits him like a stake to the heart.
“This isn’t the newborn we were sent to kill,” Demetri leans in to whisper, “this is her accomplice.”
But Riki knows, and he doesn’t care. Not anymore. He holds up a hand to silence the guard—his peer in title, but Demetri knows which one of them is truly in charge.
“When and by whom were you turned?” He forces his expression to remain neutral.
Her teeth clench. She’s fighting so hard.
Something curdles in his chest. This is the girl that used to play fight with him, when he’d come home from a long, painful day with the Yakuza. She didn’t fight against him. She’d tug on the sleeves of his kimono, demanding his attention.
“1832. I don’t know who turned me, I was sick.” A tremor runs through her limbs. Her eyes burn with fury, with desperation, with something pleading.
And for the first time in 200 years, his hands start to shake.
And he lets her go, taking a second to steady himself.
He turns to the other girl—the one who isn’t his sister, the one he should’ve questioned first. The one who, for a split second, had stolen his breath before the rest of the world fell away.
But now, he hesitates.
It’s a minuscule thing, barely a fraction of a second, but in his line of work, in his particular skillset, a fraction of a second is an eternity. It’s the difference between absolute dominance and doubt. Between control and chaos.
“You’re working with her?” He asks Misora, voice quieter than before, almost contemplative.
He shouldn’t have asked. He should’ve commanded. He should’ve taken the answer like he always does, forced his will into her bones the way he’s done with so many others.
But he doesn’t.
And Misora—now free, her limbs shaking, her breathing ragged—fixes him with a glare that’s both razor-sharp and filled with something wounded, something raw.
And then she scoffs, a harsh, humorless sound. “Eat shit, Riki Volturi. Or should I say Mind Stealer? Or Puppeteer?”
The name lands like a strike of lightning, coming from her mouth.
Not Nishimura. Volturi.
His jaw tightens. He doesn’t let himself react. Doesn’t let himself acknowledge the way it burns. But she’s staring at him like he’s nothing, like he’s a stranger, like he’s already long gone.
He remains silent as he sorts his mind for what to do. A side of him that has long been dormant is now resurrected, and he doesn’t know what to sacrifice.
“You hesitated.”
The other girl with red eyes.
The girl with eyes like his. Maybe his eyes are even as broken as hers, right now.
One whose voice sounds like music to his ears.
Carlisle and Esme try to tug her backwards, but she’s already caught his attention.
A scoff from the guard behind him. “Hesitated?” the vampire sneers, like the very idea is laughable. “The Mind Stealer doesn’t hesitate. Don’t delude yourself, newborn.”
Riki doesn’t react.
Alec takes a step forward, eyes gleaming with malice. “She’s wasting our time. They’re wasting our time. Kill the two girls and be done with it.”
Kill them?
Anyone but her.
Misora stiffens beside (Y/N). The Cullens brace themselves, prepared to strike.
And Riki exhales his first breath in two centuries.
Slowly, deliberately.
“No.”
Silence.
Absolute silence. Like the Earth has stopped rotating.
“What?”
Riki doesn’t look at Alec. He doesn’t need to. His focus is elsewhere.
He takes a step forward. Towards Misora. Towards her.
The Cullens shift instantly, poised for defense, but he doesn’t stop.
He’s barely taken another step, when he’s met with white-hot agony.
The force of it is instant, an explosion of suffering detonating inside his skull. He crumbles to his knees before he can stop himself, hands clawing at the cold ground.
A curse tears from his lips.
Jane. He doesn’t have to see her to know. He can feel her amusement, her punishment from here.
“You dare defy an order?” Her voice is sweet. Delighted. “How strange. Have we gotten soft, Mind Stealer?”
Another wave of pain. It burns. He grits his teeth, locks his jaw, and endures.
Through the ringing in his ears, he hears something. Murmuring. The Cullens. Something fast.
Then the pain stops.
It’s not gradual. It doesn’t fade. It just… ceases.
Riki gasps, shuddering. He blinks up at the sky, disoriented, reeling, and realizes he’s standing.
Not collapsed. Not writhing.
Standing.
He turns, dazed, and then he sees it.
The translucent shimmer of a shield encasing him.
Bella Cullen’s eyes are locked on him, jaw set, hands clenched at her sides. And the shield he found his way around 19 years ago is protecting him.
The murmurs behind him are hushed, but Riki hears everything.
“This shouldn’t be possible.” Felix’s voice is low, urgent. “Chelsea’s gift, she’s supposed to bind us. Our loyalty. Our devotion.”
A beat of silence.
Then, Demetri exhales sharply. “She does. But her ties don’t work when opposed by true love.”
True love.
There was a time when he would’ve mocked such things—love, feelings as a whole, even—after spending a century with the Volturi, and forgetting how to feel them, to begin with. He would’ve thought they were a liability.
But Misora is not a liability. She is his sister. And he truly loves her.
The realization settles into him like fire in his veins. Steady. Absolute. And love—true, unbreakable love—frees him.
So he does what would’ve once been unthinkable.
In a flash, he turns faster than any vampire could expect.
His power surges outward, deadly and precise. He seizes two minds at once—Jane and Alec, the Volturi’s twin nightmares, their most precious weapons besides him.
Their limbs jerk violently against their own will. Jane’s eyes widen in shock, and Alec lets out a strangled sound of protest.
Let them scream. He isn’t focusing on their vocal cords, right now.
They reach for one another.
Gasps ring out, but he doesn’t stop to relish in the astonishment. Jane’s shriek is cut short as her own hands grasp Alec’s throat. Alec’s arms move like a puppet’s, seizing her head in turn.
With their own hands, they rip each other’s heads off.
Silence.
Horrified, disbelieving silence.
The twin blades are reduced to nothing but limp, severed bodies.
The Cullens stare. The newborn stares. Misora stares.
Even Felix and Demetri are frozen. The two guards—once his comrades, witnesses of centuries of executions—stagger backward, fear flashing through their crimson eyes.
And then they run.
They don’t fight. They don’t look back.
They flee, blurring into the trees, retreating to Volterra. To Aro, Caius, and Marcus. To report the unthinkable.
Riki doesn’t stop them. His hands are still shaking, but he doesn’t care to.
Because for the first time in centuries—
He is free.

Title: That's your Future
Fandom: Twilight
Pairing: Alice x Jasper x M!Reader (Platonic)
Warnings: Alice and Jasper have adopted (Name) as their own, violence, death, heavy ANGST, good ending.
Everywhere (Name) looked all he saw was dead bodies and fights. (Name) never really liked violence. Especially with how his "Creator" was when he was only a Newborn. Much like his father figure. (Name) was created for war. So he always hated fighting.
(Name) grunts as a guard grabs him from behind. (Name) quickly wrapped his left leg around his captures and easily broke it off. Easily maneuvering the Volturi guard over him and quickly breaking the Vampires neck. (Name) winced at the breaking sound before shaking his head. He needed to stop being so distracted.
(Name) looked around. Trying to find his parental figures. When he was unable to see either pixie or cowboy he grimaced and ducked under another guard. Quickly ending the fight and wincing once more at the breaking sound. He'll always hate the sound they make when their killed.
Being a Vampire definitely wasn't what it's made out to be. He finally caught site of his mother figure and breathed a sigh of relief seeing her alive. He frowned when he noticed she was in two Volturi guard arms and immediately started racing forward. Until he heard his father's pained gasp.
(Name) froze and snapped his head to where the sound radiated. His undead heart broke seeing how the guards were holding Jasper. It was like time slowed when Demetri cut his hand down. (Name) could slowly hear the scream of his mother and knew what he had to do.
He never really understood why his gift was what it was. Being able to swap places with others was never a very powerful gift to have. Although considering how much trouble his newest Auntie and Cousin has caused the last few years. It's come in handy multiple times.
~
Edward snapped his head behind him. He quickly reached out for his nephew. Only to grab the shoulder of his brother as (Name) had swapped his and Jasper's places. Upon seeing (Name)'s head hit the snow and both Alice and Jasper's pain filled screams both sides froze momentarily.
Alice quickly broke the hold from the guards and sunk to her knees. Reaching out for (Name)'s head. The sad smile broke Edward's heart. Edward's hand tightened on Jasper's shoulder. Both brothers raced forward. Tackling the stunned Demetri and Felix to the ground.
Jane upun seeing her guards taken down tried using her gift. But when it didn't work she looked to the side. Bella Swan with a rage and grief filled face was using her gift. Protecting her husband, brother in law, and her sister in law. Jane stumbled back hoping. Both male's would be busy with her guard. Letting her escape.
Until she heard the sound of snow crunching behind her. She briefly looked back. Until to see a emotionless Alice Cullen chasing after her. Jane's eyes widened and she turned back forward. Trying to run faster. She was the slowest of the guards, but her gift made up for her weaked speed.
Jane looked back only to not see the racing Cullen. Until she turned back around. Running straight into her. Alice snarled as she gripped Jane's throat. The imagine of her sweet son's head rolling to her feet kept playing through her mind. So instead of just ripping her head off and giving her an easy but quick death.
Alice Cullen walked forward. Multiple fights stopping to see what would happen next. Until a large black wolf stalked forward. The hand of Jane's twin Alex hanging from his mouth. Jane's eyes watered as she tried breaking from Alice's hold. Only to fail. Alice stopped a few feet from the wolf. With a icey tone Alice threw Jane forward.
"Here. A new toy Sam. (Name) would be glad to know you broke it."
The large black wolf didn't hesitate before jumping onto the screaming Jane. Quickly snapping his jaw around her head. He ignore her tearing at his snout. The picture of a happily laughing (Name) flashed before Sam's eyes. Before his jaw snapped tighter and he ripped his head to the side. Completely breaking shattering her head.
Upon seeing his best guards taken down. Aro frowned and looked around for his targets. His eyes caught Edward first. The Cullen's eyes were filled with grief and rage. Aro smirked before racing towards the telepathic male. Bella seeing the scene raced forward. Using her anger to her advantage.
Aro slammed Bella back towards her husband. Sending them both down. He tried using that to his advantage. Only to fail as Edward quickly turned. Using the momentum Bella kicked Aro's face. Stunning the Volturi King. Edward threw his wife towards the King. Bella kicked Aro in the chest multiple times before being thrown away.
Edward ran forward. Trying to remove the King's head before Aro quickly turned the tables. While he was distracted Bella jumped onto the King's shoulders and pulled upwards. Frightening the King momentarily. Edward using the distraction kicked the King's legs out from under him.
As his head flew forward all Aro could see was Bella thrusting the fire into his face. Mouthing out, "For my family." The guards trying to intervene were quickly handled by the other Cullen's and friends.
~
Aro stunned blinked multiple times. Seeing the absolute fury upon Alice Cullen's face. He looked around. Meeting the eyes of the other Cullen members. He stared at the tensed Edward Cullen. Who had an arm wrapped around his wife and his other arm on the shoulders of his nephew.
(Name) flinched when his eyes met Aro's. Making Emmett step in front of the male. Multiple heated glares and growls sent his way. Upon seeing the King staring at her son Alice snarled quietly. Her tone filled with anger, ice, and a warning.
"That's your future."
Jasper glared at the staring King. Ignoring the tightened hold from the guards. His own deep and threatening growl leaving his chest. Making multiple Volturi guard flinch and step away. The guards holding him winced feeling the power of the growl. Aro's eyes snapped to Jasper before meeting Alice's eyes.
"That's your future unless you change your mind."
~
(Name) held his unneeded breath. He had no idea what vision was shown. But upon feeling his Uncle Edward literally yank him towards the end. He could guess a few factors of what happened. But the feeling of one of the Vampire King's was very unwelcomed. Especially since both his Uncles tensed.
He relaxed when his Uncle Emmett stepped in front of him. (Name) seriously hated this. He wanted to get his family and go back to the Cullen house. Away from their so called "Royalty". Everything else happened so fast. Aro made some kind of speech (Name) honestly didn't pay attention to.
His attention was towards the wolves. (Name) happily waved towards the wolves. Not noticing the chuckling surrounding him or the retreating Volturi. Only when his mother almost tackled him into the snow did (Name) realize what was happening. Without hesitation he wrapped his arms around her. So thankful that they were both okay.
Jasper crashing into the hug did send them into the snow though. Which made almost everyone laugh. (Name) was very confused on why his parents were so clingy at the moment but (Name) couldn't really see his mother's visions. So he shrugged off the confusion and instantly relaxed in the arms of his parents. Glad that everything was over and their family safe.

Parings: Paul Lahote x Reader
Description: Y/N a member of the Cullen family is imprinted on by one of the wolves, she is shocked, he is shocked. She is struggling with drinking animal blood over human, and he is disgusted by a vampire for a soulmate… But maybe it could work..?
Rating: General Audiences
Warnings: None
Words: 1,349
It was a few hours before the fight, and we were all standing in the clearing, well besides Edward who was with Bella. The wolves would be here soon. I was struggling, I could smell Bella's blood, it was making me thirsty. Jasper knew too, he was close to me, ready to hold me back from making another mistake.
I was ready though, ready to kill some newborns, plus I'd be able to see Paul. As a wolf, I miss his face, and his eyes and his smile. Wow, I sounded like a love sick teenager. Brilliant. I'd come to the realisation, that our time apart had made me realise I was so in love with him. I hated to admit it, since I had never felt it.
When the fight began I stopped caring about all that and focused on killing. It felt good actually, I liked punching something until it broke. Fighting the new borns was difficult though, I was struggling a little, I think they noticed I was the weakest. Due to my slip up a few months ago, I was still weak from drinking the animal blood.
The wolves were here now, and new borns was shocked, they had never seen them before. It was great to see them fight.
Soon there were only a few left, we were punching our way through the last when suddenly, one of the new borns knocked me, hard into a huge bolder. I was knocked to the floor, and everything hurt. I felt my skin crack along my limbs. I cried out in agony.
The pain was so intense I had never felt my skin crack before, I had seen it happen to other vampires of course, but never felt it myself. Rosalie was by my side in seconds.
"It's okay Y/N, it'll heal you'll be okay" She whispered stroking my hair. I noticed there was a wolf next to me too, I looked up and smiled, it was Paul. I reached over and he nuzzled into my hair. It made me feel calm.
"The wolves need to leave" Carlisle suddenly yelled. Rosalie helped me up, and I hobbled towards my family. And one young vampire.
"The Volturi are coming" Alice told me, I nodded, falling to the ground again, leaning my head against Esme. I lifted my top to see the damage, it was healing but there were obvious cracks starting from my hips going up to my shoulders.
Jane, Alec, Felix and Demetri walk from the forest into the clearing. I smile at them, I also got along with them besides Jane. That little vamp was annoying.
Carlisle was speaking to them, they were impressed we killed all of the new borns, of course they don't know of our alliance. Jane was surprised we did kill them, also she was annoying Bella was still human.
Bella announced the date had been set which I didn't know. And then Jane noticed the young vampire.
"She didn't know what she was doing" Esme yelled. I slowly felt my strength coming back. I could feel Alec feeling worried if I was okay. I smiled at him and nodded.
Felix stepped forward to kill the little vampire. I could tell Esme was upset. I held her hand as I was still leaning against his leg. And the volturi left.
"Y/N come with me" Carlisle spoke, holding his hand out to me.
"Where are we going?" I asked.
"To Jacob Black's house, he was hurt. But Paul will be there" He smiled.
"Think he wants to see me?" I asked.
Edward piped in at that moment
"He does, he was really scared when you were hurt"
I nodded and followed Carlisle, we sped to Jacob's house and he went into to treat Jacob. I noticed Paul standing with the others, there were so many more wolves now.
He didn't smile at me, but he held his hand out, I smiled and took his hand. The warmth feeling so familiar. Before I knew it, his arms were around me, and I was resting my head on his shoulder.
"I thought I lost you for a moment" He whispered. I held on tighter, not too tight because I could probably hurt him.
We pulled away from each other, and our eyes met. I missed him so much.
"I missed you too" He whispered. Did I say that out loud?
"I'm sorry, I was so spooked when I saw your red eyes, I won't lie this won't work if you hurt people" He said. I nodded completely understanding.
"I'm so sorry I did hurt someone, I never want to feel without you again Paul, I won't hurt anyone" I say, smiling when I felt his hand tighten around mine.
He smiled at me, and moved forward, I smiled back and closed the gap in between our lips.
Now this felt like magic.
_________
"A wedding?" I repeated, Alice giggled bouncing up and down.
"Yes a wedding!" She squealed and then bounced away.
I had to admit I was excited, I had been to Carlisle and Esme's wedding, Jasper and Alice's and Rosalie and Emmett's. And now I get to go to Edward's and Bella's. I was excited and looking forward to it, I was also looking forward to not wanting to kill Bella all the time.
I would be able to ask Paul if he would attend too! Once my eyes had gone back to normal, I had been using contacts while the red faded, it was fun, because I could use different colour contacts. Which Edward said was silly, but I liked having green and blue or brown eyes for a short while before I went back to amber.
Paul was a bit hesitant around me at the moment, I don't think he quite understands how difficult it was for me to be around blood, crave it with every fibre of my being. I wish I could stop for him. Become human for him. I knew eventually it would become a problem, Esme suggested adopting one day so we could have a family. But the only way it would work, would be to have a child who becomes a vampire, other wise Paul and I would watch them die. And I knew Paul could only just about handle me being a vampire, let alone anyone else he cared for.
I felt so sorry for him. And for me in a way. We couldn't have a normal life together. I still don't quite understand how I'm his imprint if I was born 100 odd years before he was born. Fate is weird.
Suddenly. I was pulled from my thoughts, to see Bella smiling up at me.
"Hey, Paul is outside" She smiled. I nodded, and stood up. Quickly, I put in my contact lenses. Blue this time, and rushed outside to see him, standing there. Handsome as ever in his scruffy shorts and sweat shirt.
"Hey" I smiled, leaning forward to kiss him cheek. He chuckled, and took my hand.
"Let's go for a walk love" I gripped his hand lightly, and let him take the lead.
"Bella and Edward are engaged" I said, stepping over a small log. He nodded.
"I know, Jacob told us. He isn't very happy"
I frowned, of course Jacob wasn't happy. He was probably feeling heart broken. Poor kid.
"Would you go with me? I mean, as my date, obviously" I giggled nervously. Paul smirked, but then frowned.
"I don't know Y/N, there will probably be tons of blood suc- vampires there, right?" He asked, I frowned a bit at his almost comment.
"A few yes, probably our cousins. there is only four five of them" I smiled, swinging our arms together. He nodded.
"Will I get to see you in a fancy dress?" He asked, I smiled and nodded. "Maybe underneath it if you're lucky"
If I could blush I would, I was being ballsy.
Paul however, did blush. Result.
"I might make an appearance"
I smiled, and did a little jump for joy.
I can't wait...

The God of Life. Among the divine, some whispered that you held the highest honor—to craft wonders, to breathe existence into the birds that danced in the sky and the fish that glided through the seas. You were the architect of beginnings, the harbinger of beauty and growth.
But to you, it was an endless, wearisome dance—an intricate cycle of creation and destruction, a fragile symphony where every crescendo eventually fell silent. For all your power, you were helpless to halt the inevitable.
For a god of life, attachments were a cruel luxury. To grow too fond of anything was to invite despair, for everything you nurtured and cherished would, in time, fall into the hands of Solivan, your eternal counterpart—the God of Death.
Solivan, with his quiet resolve and shadowed presence, was the immutable balance to your existence. His touch was inevitable, inescapable, as much a part of the cycle as your own. Where your hands gave breath, his hands took it. Where you painted the world in vibrant hues, he cloaked it in the stillness of the void.
And so, you tried not to linger too long over your creations, no matter how perfect they seemed. You reminded yourself that they were fleeting, that every heartbeat you granted carried the promise of an eventual silence. Yet, in the quiet moments between creation and release, when the first cries of a newborn echoed or the petals of a flower unfurled in the morning light, you felt the faint ache of rebellion stir within you.
"Why must it always end?" you asked Solivan, your voice heavy with sorrow as the two of you walked through the cobbled streets of a town in its twilight. The fading light bathed the crumbling structures in a soft, golden glow, a cruel contrast to the reality of their inevitable demise.
Solivan paused, his dark, enigmatic gaze sweeping over the quiet scene before settling on you. His expression, as always, was unreadable, his voice steady as he replied, "Because that is the only way it can truly begin."
"It isn’t fair," you said, your voice breaking. "Not just for me…but for you too, Sol." You stopped and turned to him, your hands trembling as tears brimmed in your eyes. “You deserve to enjoy… living.” Your gaze, both angry and heartbroken, bore into his, demanding something—anything—that could make sense of the endless ache.
Solivan blinked, momentarily caught off guard. For eons, he had been content to simply exist by your side, a silent shadow to your radiance. To him, nothing else mattered. You were his light in an otherwise gray and barren eternity, the one who filled his existence with beauty, breathing life into the void he governed.
Your presence painted his charcoal world in hues he could never have imagined—a world he could only experience through you. Every laugh, every fleeting joy you shared, etched itself into the fabric of his being.
He wanted to tell you that. To explain how you had shaped him, how you had given meaning to his otherwise cold and mechanical purpose. But the words felt clumsy and inadequate for what he felt. So instead, he did what he knew best—he stepped closer, his hand reaching out to cup your cheek gently.
“I do not need the kind of life you speak of,” he murmured, his thumb brushing away a stray tear. “You are enough. You are all the life I will ever need.”
For a fleeting moment, the ache in your chest softened, replaced by the warmth in his voice and the tenderness of his touch. But even as you leaned into the comfort he offered, a quiet sadness lingered. Deep down, you knew that Solivan, the unyielding God of Death, deserved more than the endless cycle of endings. He deserved to live.
“Then promise me this…” you whispered, your hands rising to cup his, your fingertips grazing the coolness of his palm. You nuzzled against it, your touch gentle yet resolute. Looking into his fiery red-orange eyes, now softened by the golden glow of the town’s fading light, you searched for reassurance. “If… if at the end of all ends, when everything has faded away, I want nothing more than for you to find me and be by my side once more.”
For a moment, Solivan was silent, his gaze studying you intently. Then, a rare smile spread across his lips—soft, genuine, and laced with a quiet reverence. “Hmm… only if you will promise to be my soulmate, (Y/N),” he murmured, his voice low and rich with emotion. Slowly, he lowered his head, resting his forehead gently against yours, the closeness anchoring both of you in the moment.
Your breath caught, and a blush rose to your cheeks, the warmth spreading across your face. Sol chuckled softly, the sound deep and melodic, resonating in the quiet space between you.
“I think…” you began, your voice trembling but filled with sincerity, “I think I would love that, Sol.”
And for a moment, as the world around you faded into the backdrop, time itself seemed to pause. In that shared vow, a fragile yet unbreakable bond was forged—a promise that no cycle, no end, could ever sever.
“Excuse me?” Solivan turned away from the classroom window, his crimson-orange eyes locking onto yours with quiet curiosity. The light streaming through the glass framed his sharp features, softening them just enough to take your breath away. For a moment, the world seemed to still as he took in the sight of you standing there, clutching your artbook tightly to your chest.
You swallowed hard, mustering the courage to speak despite the slight flutter in your chest. “Do you have a partner?” Your voice was steady, but your heart raced with every passing second.
Solivan blinked, caught off guard by the directness of your question. His expression didn’t waver, but a faint flicker of intrigue danced in his fiery eyes. He replied simply, his tone calm and measured, as though the question hadn’t unsettled him in the slightest. “No,”

Come back to me Part 2

A/N: Before you read this, I want you to know that my native language is different. So I am very sorry for any mistake. Nevertheless, I hope you will like my story and enjoy it.
A/N2.0; I have to confess, this part was finished yesterday, but I couldn't translate it into English because I had to cry for the first time with my own story.
Summary: The love story between Alec Volturi and Y/N Swan, was an unexpected one. Both didn't know what to make of each other when they found out they were soul mates. But they worked on it and created a beautiful strong love that not even Bella's hatred for the Volturi could destroy. But as in any good love story, tragedy was impossible to avoid in theirs. It came as unexpectedly as their love itself, and made the Cullens and Bella seem to win, while Alec and the Volturi were losing their light in the darkness.

It all fell, it all fell down, it all fell down, eh It all fell down, it all fell down, it all fell down And all I gave you is gone it all fell down, it all fell down, it all fell down Thought we built a dynasty forever couldn't break up - Dynasty/ MIIA
Coldness Darkness Numbness
These were the first feelings that crept into Y/N's mind. She had the feeling that something was lying on her chest.
Something that prevented her from breathing.
Something that stopped her from opening her eyes.
Y/N tried to move her arms, to move anything, but the numbness inside her hindered her.
Voices around her grew louder, but she couldn't understand or recognize them.
Y/N tried to shout at them, to ask for help or simply to silence them, but she could do nothing.
Total helplessness spread through her, giving the darkness more power. The young girl tried harder and harder to fight the numbness, the darkness and the cold, but it didn't work.
She didn't know how long this feeling lasted, but she managed to open her eyes. She needed to blink several times to get used to the bright light. Groaning, she turned her head, paused and tried to move her hand to her throat.
"Don't."
A hand closed gently around her wrist. Startled, she flinched at the coldness of this hand. Her eyes drifted to the owner. He looked at her happily, which confused Y/N.
Carefully and thoughtfully, she let her gaze glide through the unfamiliar room. Y/N looked at each face individually, some familiar, others unfamiliar.
Her gaze returned to the man standing next to her. She looked at him closely. His black hair, his almost white shimmering skin, his red eyes that looked at her with so much hope.
Y/N released her wrist from his grip and opened her mouth,
"Who are you?"
---------------------------------------------------------------
Alec didn't know exactly what he should be feeling right now. All he knew was that he had stumbled, or rather been thrown, from one nightmare into the the next.
"She can't remember anything?" Alec looked at Carlisle, who was standing in front of him. "Y/N recognized everyone just…" Bella interrupted him, "Except for you and your sister." She shrugged her shoulders. "That should be your cue to leave."
Jane stepped out from behind her brother, "Choose your next words wisely newborn or your eternity was only seconds after all!" Alec ignored them both and looked at the Cullen Doctor more sharply. "Y/N has been awake for less than 24 hours, I can't say with any accuracy what's going on yet." "Then make a guess." Alec looked at the blond vampire demandingly.
"It would appear that Y/N has lost part of her memory." Alec turned his head to the side and watched his mate, who had fallen back into a deep sleep. A window separated them, but Alec had the feeling that it wasn't just this window that separated him from Y/N, rather an entire universe.
"How could this happen, how could…" Alec had to collect himself for a moment and looked back at Carlisle, "You said there were no injuries that could have caused any major trauma, so what happened?" The man shook his head. "It could have been anything, the shock, the cold. I can't tell you. I'm sorry Alec." " Could her memories come back?" Alec looked at him hopefully. "I honestly can't say." Jane snorted, "Can you say anything at all about Y/N's condition?"
Bella stepped forward before Edward could stop her. "I'd show a little more respect if I were you. After all, it was Carlisle who saved her!" Jane looked at her angrily, "Careful…" Bella interrupted her, "Forget it. My sister was dying just a few hours ago and if I had to guess, I'd even say it was your fault." She turned to Alec, "Yours, to be exact." "How could it have been my fault?" Alec looked at her undefined. Bella shrugged her shoulders. "No one can explain what happened, why Y/N went off the road." Alec's eyes literally began to burn. "I would never…" "I'm not saying you did it, but you and the rest of your Volturi gang have enough enemies that were just looking for an opportunity to get their hands on Y/N alone."
Silence fell as Bella eyed Alec angrily. "You've never made a secret about her. Never hidden the fact that she is the 'sunshine of the Volturi'. But she was also never alone without one of you. This time she was."
"Enough Bella…" Carlisle raised a hand, but it didn't silence her. "Remember what I told her and you back then. Loving you will be the death of her and look where we've ended up. Look at my sister Alec, she barely escaped death." Bella took a few steps towards the black haired man. "I pray that Y/N won't remember you, because this way I can protect her from this world, this way I can protect her from your enemies." Bella turned and walked back to Edward, but paused once more, "If you truly love her Alec and want her safe, let her go. Let me take her away to where neither you nor any other can find her."
-------------------------------------------------------------------------
"Alec?" Jane looked at him questioningly as she re-entered the hospital room. He was once again standing by Y/N's Bedside. " You would think, the way she's sleeping so soundly, that she's fallen back into a coma." He carefully stroked his hand through her hair.
"Are we just going to ignore what Bella said?" Jane looked more closely at her brother. Alec simply ignored her and gave Y/N his full attention. Jane snorted. "How about we just take Y/N with us. We can sort everything else out in Volterra and then…" Alec stopped running his fingers through Y/N's hair.
"She can't remember anything. No more of our time, no more of our world. That means Y/N is a normal woman again." Jane tilted her head. Alec gave her an annoyed look. "She can have everything I could never give her." Jane stood up straight again. "That would be?" "Children? Growing old? A life in the daylight!" Jane's expression changed to one of bewilderment. "If Y/N really wanted that, she would never have agreed to be changed." Alec looked at his sister. "Love blinds you to the things you've always wanted." Jane shook her head, "Alec…"
Alec lowered his gaze, leaned down to Y/N and placed a long kiss on her forehead. He separated his lips, remaining a few inches above her forehead. "I've waited so long for you, that I'm ready to let you go." The vampire stood back up, running his hand over his lover's cheek once more, "Find me in another life. In one where I get more time with you, in one where I can love you longer."
He turned away from the bed and tried to walk towards the exit, but Jane blocked his way. "If you do that, if you leave now, you'll regret it for the rest of your life." "And if I stay Jane? Then what?" Alec looked at Y/N again, "She got lucky this time. What if she's not lucky next time? I ignored it, for so long. But her life got more and more dangerous the closer I got to her." Jane shook her head, "Don't let Bella win. She's been trying to break you two apart since you got together." Alec looked down at his sister, "It's not about winning, it's about Y/N safety Jane. She's not safe with me or anywhere near her, no one is."
"What if Y/N wakes up one morning and can remember? She'll think you don't love her, she'll think you abandoned her!" Alec looked at his sister. "Jane…" "No!" the blonde vampire raised her voice, but Alec cut her off. "We're leaving Jane, my decision is final!"
----------------------------------------------------------------------------
"Alec, it's been a long time since we've seen you in Volterra." Aro closed the book he had just opened and placed it on the table. Caius turned to the twins. "Is everything okay with Y/N?"
Demetri, Felix, Santiago, Afton and Chelsea looked back and forth between Jane and Alec. An awkward silence stretched out. Alec looked at his kings, "Y/N is awake."
No one said anything, they just watched the twins. Everyone realized that all joy was missing from Alec. He looked lost and Jane couldn't look at anyone. Her eyes were fixed on the ground, which was never the case.
"What happened?" Aro took a few steps towards Alec, but didn't want to touch him yet, he wanted to listen to his words first. "Y/N is no longer part of our world, she is no longer part of our lives. She can't remember anything from the last year." Alec looked Aro in the eye. "My mate woke up, but she woke up in a world I'm not a part of."
Caius stood up, "How?" Alec's gaze lowered to the floor. His voice broke, "Carlisle doesn't know." "Then we must bring her to us…" Caius wanted to continue, Aro silenced him with a raised hand. "May I see?" Aro held out a hand to Alec. The black-haired man immediately placed his hand in his king's.
After a minute, Aro let go of Alec's hand. "Is this the path you really want to take?" Alec looked back down at the ground. "You know she wanted to become one of us." Alec nodded and looked up. "She'd never be safe." "I know."
Aro turned and walked back to the table.
"Spread the word that Y/N is dead."
"What!" All the vampires in the room, excluding Jane, Alec and Aro shouted this at the same time.
"Our young friend has decided to give his mate, our sunshine, a mortal life. A life without the knowledge of the supernatural and away from our enemies. I support him and so do the rest of you."
Demetri shook his head and walked towards Alec. "You can't do this to us. Alec…" Alec looked at him blankly, "This isn't your decision to make." "How can you just let her go, how can you…"
Alec took a step towards Demetri, "Do you think this decision was easy? Do you think it's not tearing me apart? I love this woman with everything in my being, she's the other fucking half of my soul. Do you think the decision to let her go and know that she won't be in this world in eighty or ninety years was easy?" His voice broke and he shook his head. "Then you're an idiot, it's been the hardest decision of my life and I'll definitely regret it."
"Then why?" Felix looked at him questioningly, while others were shocked. No one had ever seen Alec get so emotional.
Jane gave a humorless laugh and drew attention to herself. "Because Bella managed to get inside his head." Confused, everyone looked back at Alec. He remained silent, but Jane continued, "She thinks that Y/N's car went off the road because one of our enemies made it do it."
"This is ridiculous!" Demetri tried to grab Alec's shoulder, but he slapped the blond vampire's hands away. "Really? We, the Volturi, have more than enough enemies. Everyone we care about has been killed. Think of the secretary who loved you Demetri and was killed because of it. The woman you loved Felix? Chelsea, why is Afton a vampire now? Why don't you ever let him go somewhere without you?"
Everyone looked at the floor.
"I thought so. Loving any of us Volturi is like a death sentence. I'm not willing to do that to Y/N when she's been given a second chance."

When Bella moved to Forks she was surprised to not see her sister there. Well adopted, after Renee took her and left Forks, her father was heartbroken. He slowly worked his way up and became chief of police. And on one of his usual patrols he found a young child wandering out of the woods. The child was covered in dirt and her hair stuck up like she was struck by lightning. He quickly pulled his car over and bundled the child up in his jacket before putting them in the car. He had brought the child to the hospital, and stayed there for a few days as the child recovered. The only thing that the child could remember is her name, and her age. No one came forward to claim the child, and Charlie didn’t want to send her into the foster system so he adopted her.
Renee and Bella leaving left a hole in his heart, but it was slowly healing with the help of your presence. You grew up in the town of Forks and everyone loved you. You were the towns local sweetheart, and you were kind to everyone. And when Bella came to visit you made sure to make her feel comfortable. You grew close with her even though you were a little older than her. And when she stopped coming for the summer you were going with Charlie to California. As you got older you would notice weird things happening. When storms were coming, you were drawn to them. When they would come in you would be on one of the cliffs letting the wind blow through your hair. And when you would touch metal you would feel a small zap.
And then one day everything fell in place. Yo had been on the cliffs, your legs dangling over it as a storm brewed. As you watched the clouds move across the sky a bright light flashed beside you. You turned your head and beside you was a man, a beautiful man. He was tall with long orange hair and pointed ears. He introduced himself as Professor Palladium, a teacher from Alfea the College for Faires. At first you had laughed at how ridiculous it sounded until he showed you the proof. And then you were whisked away to Alfea after saying goodbye to Charlie. You were still home for the visits with Bella but she didn’t know the truth. It stayed between you and Charlie, who now new about the supernatural world on earth. You knew how dangerous it was from him to know the truths of other supernaturals so you both agreed for him to play dumb.
Since you were in the magical dimension with your friends, known as the Winx, you missed everything that happened with Bella. You weren’t there when James attacked her, when the Cullen’s left, her trip to Italy or the Newborn army. Even though you weren’t there Charlie still kept you updated on everything that you missed. And when you found out about Bella being drug into the supernatural world, you were pissed to say the least.
You were celebrating the defeat of the Dark Wizard Valtor when you received the call from Earth. Charlie had visited the Cullen’s after Bella’s honeymoon, and he found a newly turned Bella. He still pretended to not know anything as he saw his other daughter and was introduced to his granddaughter. He called to tell you everything that he found out, and not long after that call you received one from Bella. She was asking you to come home to visit her,and of course you couldn’t say no. What you didn’t know however was the predicament that the Cullen’s and Bella had gotten themselves into. And that leads us to where we are now. In a snowy clearing two groups of vampires are seen. On one side with the wolves were the Cullens and on the other side dressed in black cloaks were the Volturi.
"Aro, let us discuss things as we used to do.
In a civilized manner." Carlisle stepped forward and spoke surely and clearly.
"Fair words, Carlisle." Aro said. "But a little out of place, given the battalion you've assembled against us."
"I can promise you, that was never my intent." Carlisle said. Everyone watched Aro peek around him at Renesmee. Bella glared at him and held her closely.
"No laws have been broken."
"We see the child." Caius stated firmly. "Do not treat us as fool's."
"She is not an immortal!" Carlisle shouted.
"These witnesses can attest to that. Or you can look." He gestured back to Renesmee with his hand. "See the flush of human blood in her cheeks."
"Artifice!" Caius shouted back.
"I will collect every facet of the truth." Aro held up a hand to silence them. "But from someone more central to the story. Edward, as the child clings to your newborn mate, I assume you are involved." He held out a hand and walked a few steps forward.
Edward gave Bella a look and then walked forward towards the Volturi member's.
Aro took Edwards's hand in his own, cupping it, reading his mind. Aro's face went through a series of emotions, before he dropped his hand and looked over at Renesmee and Bella again.
"I'd like to meet her." He said intrigued.
Edward hesitantly turned around and gave them a look, telling them to come forward. Bella grabbed Renesmee’s hand and began walking forward with Jacob by their side. After a few steps she stops and turns back to where Emmett stood with Rosalie. Without a word being said he starts walking with them to where Aro stood with Edward.
"Ah." Aro said as we all arrived. The smile on his face was big. "Young Bella." He elongated her name.
"Immortality becomes you." Aro listened to the sound of Renesmee’s beating heart, and laughed his high pitched sound.
"I hear her strange heart."
Renesmee looked up at Bella and she nodded. Reassuring her it was okay. Aro bent down slightly looking at her. Renesmee slowly walked away from Bella toward's him ready to show him everything, just as she'd done so many times before. Jacob let out a low growl.
Edward and Bella tensed, standing together.
Emmett stood ready to stop anyone in who had any idea's on harming her.
Aro's hand, went out toward's Renesmee, but she stayed serious and looked up at him ignoring his hand.
"Hello, Aro." Her sweet voice came out soft and serious.
Renesmee slowly moved her hand toward's Aro's face, confusing him for a moment, until she touched his cheek. His face showed complete amusement.
"Magnifico." Aro said softly. His face once full of wonder and curiosity, turned sullen and he backed away from her. Bella quickly stepped forward and pulled Renesmee back toward's her.
"Half mortal, half immortal. Conceived and carried by this newborn, while she was still human." He gestured back to me, speaking every word slowly.
"Impossible!" Caius scoffed. Jacob began snarling as Aro whipped his head around toward him. Edward, quickly ushering them all back toward's the family behind them.
"Do you think they fooled me, brother?"
Jacob snarled once before walking back with them. Which the Volturi found amusing. Caius never stopped gazing at Aro and called out behind him.
"Bring the informer forward." The guard brought Irina forward and everyone moved closer with them. She gave a sorrowful glance to her sister's.
"Is that the child you saw?" Caius asked, pointing a finger at them as they reached the rest of them family.
Irina looked at the small family before looking at the ground.
"I-I'm not sure."
"Jane." Caius called out to her, for her to use her gift's.
"She's changed." Irina said quickly. "This child is bigger." Her voice filled with emotion.
"Then your allegation's were false." Caius stated.
"The Cullen's are innocent. I take full responsibility for my mistake." Irina looked over to her sister's, Tanya and Kate, mouthing to them that she was sorry.
One of the guard member's, lit up a flame.
Everyone stood still watching as the following event's unfolded before them.
"Caius, no!" Edward shouted, realizing whatever it was before them all.
Felix, stepped forward and swiftly, took Irina's head from her body. Caius grabbing the flame and bringing it down on her body.
"Irina!" Tanya and Kate screamed for their sister. The two blonde's ran forward screaming in agony at them.
Many member's of the group attempted to grab them. Bella grabbed Renesmee and placed her on Jacob's back, putting the backpack she packed on her. Emmett dashed after Tanya and Eleazar tried to get Kate, only to be zapped away. Garrett came up behind her and wrapped his arm's around her tightly. She was shocking him with everything she had.
"Blind them." Emmett said to Zafrina.
Both Kate and Tanya immediately stopped struggling as hard, given that they couldn't see.
"Give me my sight back." Tanya shook with anger.
"Tanya, this is what they want. If you attack now, we'll die" Edward walked over and spoke softly to her.
As they try to calm the two sisters down, a clap of thunder is heard and a rain shower pours over Irina’s burning body. The rain successfully puts the fire out before Irina can turn to ash. Everyone stands absolutely still as this unfold in front of them. The sisters now being able to see, can see their sisters body that was still intact other than a few burns on the ground.
“Now that just wouldn’t do.” You say as you walk out of the woods line, your boots crunching on the snow.
Bella breathes your name out in horror.
“I swear Bells I can’t leave you alone for five minutes. I leave for school and you manage to bone a vampire and make a little hybrid.” You say as you shake your head in mock disappointment.
“Who is that?”
“Why is there a human here?”
Murmurs are heard across the clearing as you reach where Bella is standing.
“Now where is my niece that Dad told me all about.” You say before spotting Renesmee on top of Jacob.
“Ah there she is. She has your eyes Bells, but I believe we’ll have time for introductions later. Now I believe I have a body to retrieve.” You say as you turn and begin walking toward the Volturi.
“Wait. You can’t-“ Bella says trying to stop you.
“Bells trust me I can handle myself.” You say before continuing on your path. Your eyes trail over the line of menacing vampires. You knew very little about the Volturi, but you were able to figure out who was in charge. They all had matching red eyes, but that was the only matching feature. Your eyes trailed over the leaders, the first one was a tall man with long brown hair. His face looked like he was full of sorrow, and could turn to dust at any moment. The next one was an average height man with long black hair, and a sinister smile. And finally the last one was a blonde man that stood with a menacing look, but that look changed when your eyes met. Something felt like everything suddenly clicked into place.Caius’s piercing gaze locked onto yours, his usual icy demeanor faltering as something unspoken passed between you. His jaw tightened, his expression a storm of resistance and disbelief, but his eyes betrayed him, beneath the veneer of control, they burned with recognition.
You mentally shook yourself, wanting to stay focused on the task at hand.
“So it seems you have brought another human into the midst Carlisle.” The man with the black hair says as you slowly get closer. You let out a snort at his words as you stop a few feet away from them.
“A human you say. Well sorry you big disco ball, but I’m not human.” You say as you lean down and begin to pull Irina’s body towards you.
“How dare you-“ Alec says as black mist begins to leave his hands, but he stops when Aro raises his hand. You continue to pull Irina’s body making sure to grab her arms and head.
“Not a human you say. That makes things interesting then.” Aro says with a sinister smile and begins to step closer to you but is stopped by Marcus. Aro turns to his brother who was holding his hand out towards him. Aro quickly grabbed his hand like it was made of gold. As the two were distracted you motioned for the sisters of Irina to come and get her body. They sped over and took the body from you both giving you appreciative smiles. You give them a small nod as they move back to the other coven’s beginning to put their sister back together.
Aro's voice broke through the suffocating silence, that filled the clearing.
“The soulmate string,” he whispered, the words so soft they should have vanished into the air, yet they echoed like a bell tolling in the distance. He let’s go of Marcus’ hand and they turn to where you stood, not far from them. Your gaze followed theirs, drawn by something primal and magnetic, until you saw it, a shimmering thread of light, delicate yet unyielding, stretching from your chest to Caius. The string pulsed with a rhythm that mirrored your own heartbeat, radiating an ancient energy that defied comprehension. Gasps rippled through the clearing as Marcus’s gift allowed everyone to glimpse it, just for a moment, a bond that transcended centuries, lifetimes, and even the laws of their immortal existence. The thread shimmered like starlight, golden and iridescent, before it faded from view, leaving only the weight of its presence behind.
The clearing stayed tense between the groups, and with you right in the middle. Carlisle took a few steps forward looking at Aro.
"Aro, you see there's no law broken here."
Carlisle stated, ready to have everyone go
home.
"Agreed." Aro gave a slight smile. He licked his lips and tilted his head.
"But does it then follow that there is no danger?" He took a few steps forward. "For the first time in our history, humans pose a threat to our kind.Their modern technology has given birth to weapons that could destroy us." He looked back to the Cullen’s curiously.
"Maintaining our secret has never been more imperative." His words as he nodded caused most of the guard member's to smirk, making everyone all frown. "In such perilous times, only the known is safe.Only the known is tolerable, and we know nothing of what this child will become. Can we live with such uncertainty? Spare ourselves a fight today, only to die tomorrow."
You take a few steps back closer to where your sister stood, your body tense and prepared to fight. Edward perked up after a second looking to the woods next to them, gaining everyone’s attention. Out from the forest walked Alice and Jasper, side by side.
"Alice." Edward said quietly.
"Alice." Aro gasped in excitement.
Alice walked by giving Bella a knowing look, and giving you a small nod in greeting.
But they didn't stop to stand with the covens.
They walked straight over to the Volturi side. Met quickly by Demetri, stopping them from going any further.
"My dear, dear Alice, we're so glad to see you here, after all." Aro said happily.
"I have evidence that the child won't be a risk to our kind." Alice stated, trying to push through the guard members holding her back.
"Let me show you." She held out her hand as she spoke kindly.
"Brother." Caius said unsure. Aro motioned for her to be let through. Alice pushed away the guard members and walked over toward's Aro. Demetri slapped Jasper face as he tried to fight to go with her. Aro grapped Alice's hand quickly, being pulled into whatever her vision was, and he looked almost frightened. Everyone stood in their places, untouched as Aro slowly removed his hand from Alice's.
A terrified look crossed his face as he glanced around at all the people before him. Edward smirked, knowing Aro was terrified of Bella.
"Now you know." Alice growled. "That's your future. Unless you decide on another course."
"We cannot alter our course. The child still poses a grave threat." Caius stepped forward talking lowly to Aro.
"But what if you were sure she could remained concealed from the human world?"
Edward called out to them. "Could we leave in peace?"
"Of course. But that cannot be known."
Caius called back to him with a scowl.
"Actually it can." Edward said softly with a smile. Alice walked away from Aro smiling. Two figures emerged from the forest, which Alice and Jasper had come from. It was a younger man and woman. They walked all the way up to Alice and stood by her.
"I've been searching for witnesses of my own among the Ticuna tribes of Brazil. " Alice spoke softly.
"We have enough witnesses." Caius spat.
"Let him speak, brother.” Aro hushed him.
"I am half human, half vampire. Like the child."
The man named Nahuel said.
"A vampire seduced my mother, who died giving birth to me. My aunt, Huilen, raised me as her own. I made her immortal."
"How old are you?" Bella stepped forward calling out curiously.
"150 years." He looked back at Bella and smiled.
"At what age did you reach maturity?" Aro asked.
"I became full-grown seven year's after my birth. I have not changed since then." Nahuel replied Bella looked back up at Renesmee , reaching out and holding her hand. She smiled down at Bella, still on Jacob's back.
"And your diet?"
"Blood, human food. I can survive on either."
"These children are much like us." Marcus said amazed.
"Regardless, the Cullen's have been consorting with werewolves, our natural enemies." Caius stated. Aro turned and placed a hand on his shoulder, shaking his head.
Knowing what he had seen in Alice's vision, was not a chance Aro was willing to take.
Though, he had much more knowledge than before.
"Dear ones, there is no danger here. We will not fight, today." Aro said looking at the Volturi group. The outer part of the group beginning to retreat into the forest. As the the Upper and Elite guard begin to follow.
"We have them on the run. Now is the time to attack." Vladimir said walking up to Carlisle.
"Not today." He smiled happily at them.
"You're all fools! The Volturi might leaving. But they will never forgive what happened here." Stephan yelled. Everyone ignores them and you begin to walk towards your sister, wanting to officially meet your niece. The rest of the Volturi turn to leave when it happens. Vladimir and Stefan both speed towards you. Knowing that if they take you out then Caius will retaliate. Edward catches their thoughts and turns to you.
“Vladimir! Stefan! Don’t.” He yells, but they ignore him. They continue speeding towards you, but no one here knows what you are, well except for Alice and Aro who saw you in the vision. Vladimir reaches you first and his hand goes around your throat in a tight grip. Bella let’s go of Edward and speeds over to where Stefan was getting ready to join his partner. She grabs him by the back of his neck and slams into the ground, cracking as the vampires body comes in contact. The commotion behind them cause the retreating Volturi to halt and turn. Then suddenly and animalistic snarl is heard through the clearing, and everyone turns to the source. Caius. The vampire king stood there with fury etched onto his face as he sees his mate being held by her throat. He begins to take a step forward, but is stopped by Aro’s hand on his shoulder. He whips his head to his brother with a snarl. How dare Aro stop him from protecting his mate.
“Brother don’t. Just watch. Your mate will handle it.” Aro says calmly already knowing of your capabilities. Caius lets out on angry huff but turns to where you are. His hands clench tightly by his sides as he sees Vladimir’s grip on your throat.
“I suggest you let me go.” You say calmly your (e/c) clashing with red.
“Or what? You’re just a pathetic little human.” Vladimir says with a sneer as he grip begins to tighten. He expects you to cower in fear but you do the opposite and laugh. Dark thunder clouds begin to form in the sky strikes of lightning beginning to hit the ground surrounding the both of you.
“For the last time. I AM NOT A HUMAN. NOW ENCHANTIX.” You yell. A bright light surrounds you as you transform into your fairy form. Your regular clothes change in your fairy outfit that was a mix of black, blues, and silver. Your wings sprout out of your back, a combination of blue and silver. The storm clouds circle above the clearing as the air around you grows static. All of the vampires in the clearing look at you with awe and a little fear.
“You vampires really think you’re the most powerful supernatural creature. You think it all revolves around you.” As you speak you reach up with your hand, grabbing Vladimir’s arm, and fill him lightning. You could channel lightning into your body like Kate was able to.
“But here’s the thing. You really aren’t, I just fought a very powerful Dark Wizard before my sister called me. All creatures have weaknesses, and for you vampires its your cockiness. You believe yourselves to be invincible.” Vladimir’s hand falls from your throat as the lightning continues to pour into his body. His knees buckling causing him to kneel in front of you. You look towards Bella and you share a look with her. You tilt your head towards the Volturi as you grip Vladimir by the back of his neck. She nods as she realizes your idea, and the both of you begin to drag the Romanians to where the Volturi stand. As you both get closer Demetri and Felix break formation as soon as Aro nods. They meet you in the middle and each one grabs a Romanian holding them in front of the leaders.
You turn to Bella with a smile and bring her in for a hug.
“Go back to Edward Bells. You guys deserve to be happy. I’ll handle everything here.” You whisper into her ear as her arms come up to carefully hug you being mindful of your wings and her strength.
“Are you sure sis. They might hurt you.” She says her voice dripping with concern. You pull back with a smile and glance behind you to where Caius stood, his eyes glued to your form.
“I’ll be okay Bells now go be happy. And tell Wolf boy if he does anything to my niece I will drown him with rain.” You say, and Bella laughs with a smile.
“Keep in touch with me sis. I love you.” She says before speeding back to her family. Edward sends you a nod and a smile before the Cullens retreat with their allies. You send a nod back before your wings lift you off the ground and you fly to where the Romanians are kneeling in front of the kings.
“You know you guys never really had a chance with defeating them.” You say you circle above them.
“Its kinda sad that you had to wait for someone else to challenge them.” You were taunting them and they knew it as they both let out snarls.
“Now Now Cara Mia no need to rub salt in their wounds.” Aro says as he takes a step forward and you turn towards him.
“Hmph no one ever let’s me have any fun.” You say with a pout as you flutter above them.
“No need to pout la mia tempesta.” Caius says as he also takes a step forward. Your heart skipping a beat at the sound of voice, and seeing his smirk you knew he heard it. He walks closer to where you’re fluttering above the ground.
“Why don’t you come closer and help me rip their heads off their pathetic bodies.” You fly closer to the ground hovering above him before landing. He holds his hand out for you to take and you do.

The darkness enveloped her as she lay motionless, suspended in a realm between life and death. (Y/N) had always been aware of the existence of vampires, the elusive creatures of the night that haunted the realm of myths and legends. Little did she know that soon, she would become one of them.
Her journey to this otherworldly existence had begun weeks ago, when she was selected by the three vampire kings themselves. Chosen for a destiny she couldn't fathom, her life had taken an unexpected and perilous turn. The transformation had been agonizing, a relentless torment that seared through her very soul. It felt as though her very essence was being torn asunder, only to be rebuilt with newfound strength and power.
The moment she awoke anew, (Y/N)'s senses were immediately heightened. The world was no longer shrouded in darkness; instead, it was bathed in an eerie, crimson glow that revealed details she had never noticed before. Every sound was amplified, every scent a vivid tapestry of the world around her. The hunger, that insatiable thirst, clawed at her throat.
Her first instinct was to test her newfound abilities. She needed to understand the extent of her power and how to control it. Pushing herself to her feet, (Y/N) hesitated for only a moment before making a decision. She would call upon the other guards chosen by the kings, her comrades in this new existence.
With a thought, she summoned the twins, Alec and Jane. They appeared before her like wraiths emerging from the shadows, their expressions a mixture of curiosity and concern.
"What is it, (Y/N)?" Alec inquired, his voice like a whisper of silk.
"I wanted to know if you could could train me,” Alec raises a brow at her as if he knew there was more to just this training she suggested and urged her to continue, “And I also wanted to see if I had any abilities," she replied, her gaze determined. "I want to see what I can do."
Jane nodded in agreement, her crimson eyes locking onto (Y/N)'s. "Very well, let's see what you've got."
As they began to train and test her newfound powers, Felix and Demetri approached cautiously. These two were seasoned guards, their loyalty to the kings unwavering.
"May we join the training?" Demetri asked, his tone respectful yet inquisitive.
(Y/N) considered their request for a moment. She was well aware that their skills were far superior to hers, and she had much to learn. "Yes, but only if you promise to train me," she responded, a note of determination in her voice.
Felix cracked a half-smile, revealing his sharp fangs. "We'd be honored to help you, (Y/N)."
Underneath the oppressive weight of the castle, the dungeons sprawled out like a dark labyrinth. This was where the guards typically trained newborn vampires, where stone walls bore witness to countless battles and training sessions. As the chosen guards of the three kings, Alec, Jane, Demetri, and Felix led (Y/N) down into the depths of the castle, guiding her through the dimly lit corridors.
Felix was the first to speak as they descended into the dank underground chambers. "This is where we hone our skills, (Y/N)," he said with a sly grin. "Prepare yourself for a taste of true vampire training."
(Y/N) met his grin with a determined nod. She had come to embrace her new existence as a vampire, and this was her opportunity to prove herself. Felix's offer to be her training partner was a challenge she eagerly accepted.
"Alright, big guy," she replied, her eyes flashing with excitement. "Let's see if you can handle me."
In an instant, the cavernous training room became their arena. The shadows danced around them as the others stepped back to watch the clash of strength. Felix and (Y/N) circled each other, their eyes locked in unwavering focus.
The fight began with a blur of motion. Felix lunged at (Y/N), his movements fluid and precise. She countered with agility and speed she had never known before, dodging his attacks with grace. Their movements were like a violent ballet, each one testing the other's limits.
As the battle raged on, Felix's immense strength became apparent. He was relentless, his blows powerful and calculated. (Y/N) had to rely on her agility and quick thinking to avoid being overpowered. But she refused to give in, her determination burning brighter with each passing moment.
Then, in a split second, Felix managed to land a powerful blow, sending (Y/N) sprawling across the stone floor. She grunted in pain but quickly pushed herself back onto her feet.
Felix chuckled, a deep rumble that echoed through the chamber. "Not bad for a newborn," he taunted.
The taunt hit a nerve, and (Y/N)'s emotions flared. Her anger, intensified by her newfound vampire abilities, surged within her. With a flick of her wrist, she sent an invisible force toward Felix.
Time seemed to slow as Felix froze in place, his eyes wide with surprise. He stood immobilized, as though trapped in a momentary stasis. The others watched in astonishment as he teetered on the brink of balance before finally collapsing to the floor.
Demetri's incredulous expression mirrored the bafflement in his mind. He had seen countless battles and faced numerous opponents, but what he had just witnessed left him bewildered. "What even just happened?" he muttered, his voice tinged with confusion.
(Y/N) stood over the immobilized Felix, her heart pounding in her chest. Panic began to creep into her as she tried to wake him, shaking him gently, but he remained unresponsive. "Felix, come on!" she pleaded, her voice trembling.
Her attempts to rouse Felix only escalated her panic. Desperation welled up inside her, and she could feel the powerful emotions threatening to spiral out of control. She glanced at Alec, who had been watching the scene unfold with a concerned expression.
Alec stepped forward, his eyes locking onto (Y/N)'s with an intensity that sent a shiver down her spine. "I need to numb your emotions," he said firmly.
(Y/N) nodded, unable to speak as her emotions threatened to overwhelm her. Alec extended his hand, and a soothing wave of calm washed over her. It was as though a heavy fog had settled in her mind, dulling the frantic panic that had taken hold.
Demetri, still bewildered, retreated from the training area to alert the kings about the unexpected turn of events. Meanwhile, Jane approached Felix, her crimson eyes focused. She reached out with her own unique power, attempting to rouse him, but there was no response.
She persisted, her brow furrowing in concentration, but it was as though Felix had been locked in time. The others watched, tense and worried, as minutes passed without any sign of change.
Finally, the kings, Aro, Caius, and Marcus, accompanied by another formidable vampire, entered the training chamber. Aro's eyes, which seemed to miss nothing, scanned the scene before him.
Alec, sensing their presence, withdrew his powers from (Y/N), allowing her to regain control of her emotions. She gasped for breath, still shaken by the events.
Aro, with his perceptive gaze, turned his attention to (Y/N) and inquired gently, "My dear, what happened here?"
Trembling, (Y/N) recounted the events that had transpired—the fierce training with Felix, her newfound power, and the inexplicable immobilization of her training partner. Panic threatened to overtake her once more, but Aro's calming presence held her in check.
Caius and Marcus exchanged knowing glances, while the other vampire in their company observed with keen interest.
Aro stepped closer to (Y/N), his voice soothing. "You have a unique gift, my dear," he said, his tone filled with a mixture of curiosity and intrigue. "One that we have never encountered before."
Aro's crimson eyes gleamed with curiosity as he watched (Y/N) closely. His fascination with her newfound ability had not waned since their encounter in the training chamber. He decided to delve deeper into this enigma and turned his attention to the other vampire who had accompanied them.
"Scan her, and tell us what you find," Aro ordered, his voice smooth as velvet.
The other vampire, whose power lay in the ability to discern the presence or absence of abilities in other vampires, stepped forward. Their eyes met (Y/N)'s, and in an instant, their expression shifted from curiosity to astonishment. Their eyes widened, an unprecedented reaction that had never occurred during their countless assessments.
Caius, growing impatient, broke the silence. "Well, speak already! Is this the doing of a gift, or are we wasting our time?"
The assessing vampire nodded slowly, their voice measured. "Yes, it is the result of a gift," they replied, their tone filled with a mixture of wonder and uncertainty. "But it is unlike any gift we have ever encountered."
(Y/N) felt a pit of dread forming in her stomach. The anticipation in the room was palpable, and she couldn't bear the weight of their scrutiny any longer. "What... what is it?" she stammered, her voice quivering.
The assessing vampire hesitated, their gaze still locked onto her. "It appears that (Y/N) possesses the unique gift of life and death," they explained carefully. "She has the ability to both end and restore life to a vampire, even when they have been incapacitated."
A stunned silence fell over the chamber as the revelation sank in. Aro, Caius, and Marcus exchanged incredulous glances, while the other guards looked on in a mix of awe and uncertainty.
(Y/N) felt her heart sink as the implications of her power became clear. Her mind raced back to the training chamber and the moment when she had unintentionally restored Felix to life after immobilizing him. She had never meant to wield such a gift, and the consequences of her actions weighed heavily on her.
"I didn't know," she muttered, panic lacing her voice. "I didn't mean to..."
Aro raised a calming hand, his expression thoughtful. "There is no need for distress, my dear. Your gift is a remarkable one, and it may prove invaluable to the Volturi. We shall train you to control it and ensure that it serves our purposes."
Despite Aro's reassurance, (Y/N) couldn't shake the guilt that gnawed at her. She had unintentionally brought back a fellow guard, altering the course of events in the most unexpected way.
(Y/N)'s heart raced with a mixture of fear and curiosity as she watched Felix being led away by Alec and Jane. She couldn't help but worry about what lay in store for her, especially after learning the true nature of her unique gift.
Turning her gaze to Aro, she voiced her concerns. "What's going to happen to me?" she asked, her voice trembling.
Aro's smile remained serene as he responded, "Nothing to worry about, my dear. You will receive training to harness your abilities properly, and you will become a valuable asset to the Volturi."
Relief washed over (Y/N) at Aro's words. She trusted the guidance of the Volturi, despite the unexpected turn her life had taken.
Her gaze drifted to Marcus, who had remained silent during the discussion. His eyes held a deep understanding, and she couldn't help but ask, "What happened to Felix?"
Marcus sighed softly, his voice gentle as he replied, "It appears that when you used your abilities on him, it not only ended his life but also brought him back in a human state."
(Y/N) was stunned by this revelation. Her gift had the power to bring a vampire back to their human state? It was an astounding discovery, one that left her with more questions than answers.
The assessing vampire who had revealed her gift's nature stepped forward to explain further. "It's a complex interplay of life and death, (Y/N). When you unintentionally ended Felix's life and then brought him back, it seems to have triggered a transformation back to his human state."
Aro, his eyes gleaming with fascination, absorbed this information with a calculating expression. He said nothing but appeared to be pondering the implications of her gift.
(Y/N) was still trying to process the extraordinary turn of events. She hadn't meant to turn Felix human, and the fact that her abilities had such a profound impact on him left her bewildered.
"I didn't know," she whispered, her voice filled with remorse.
Aro, ever the observer, spoke softly, "My dear, your gift is a wondrous discovery. It may hold secrets and possibilities beyond our current understanding. Rest assured, we will study it further."
(Y/N) couldn't shake the overwhelming desire to see Felix. She had unintentionally changed his life, quite literally, and the weight of that responsibility weighed heavily on her. With the kings' permission granted, she was led to the room where Felix was being kept.
As she entered the room, her eyes widened in amazement. There he was, Felix, sitting on a bed and looking every bit like a human. It was a sight she couldn't have imagined, and it filled her with a mixture of awe and remorse.
Felix looked up as she entered, and a warm smile spread across his face. "Well, look who it is," he greeted, his voice tinged with amusement.
(Y/N) couldn't help but feel a rush of gratitude that he wasn't holding what had happened against her. "Felix, I'm so sorry," she said, her voice filled with sincerity.
He waved off her apology with a chuckle. "No need to apologize, (Y/N). It's not every day you wake up as a human after being a vampire for so long. It's... an interesting experience."
Feeling a surge of relief and happiness, she couldn't contain herself any longer and wrapped her arms around him in a tight embrace. But in her excitement, she momentarily forgot her newfound strength.
Felix winced, his face turning slightly red as he struggled to breathe. "Careful there," he managed to say through strained breaths.
Alec and Jane, who had been standing nearby, quickly stepped in. "Easy now," Alec cautioned. "Remember, he's human, and you have to be more delicate."
(Y/N) released her grip on Felix, her face flushed with embarrassment. "I'm so sorry, Felix. I forgot."
Felix let out a hearty laugh, his humor infectious. "No harm done," he assured her, his smile never fading. "Just reminds me how much it sucked being a human."
As the three of them shared a moment of laughter
The harmonious laughter between (Y/N), Felix, Alec, and Jane was abruptly interrupted as the door to the room swung open. Aro entered, his presence commanding immediate attention. His smile remained charming, but there was a hint of business in his demeanor.
"My dear (Y/N), I'm afraid it's time for you and the others to leave," Aro announced, his voice carrying a note of finality.
(Y/N) exchanged a worried glance with Felix, uncertainty gripping her. "But what's to happen to Felix?" she asked, her voice quivering.
Marcus, ever the one to speak the truth, stepped forward. "Felix is a valuable member of our guard, and we cannot afford to lose him," he explained. "He will be changed back into a vampire."
Aro nodded in agreement, adding, "It is the only way, my dear. Felix will return to his duties, and you will continue your training. We have a destiny to uphold."
(Y/N) felt a mixture of relief and sadness wash over her. She had grown fond of Felix in the short time they had spent together, and knowing that he would be changed back into a vampire was bittersweet. She nodded, her understanding clear.
The three of them, Alec, Jane, and (Y/N), prepared to leave the room, but not before one last look at Felix. His expression was a mix of gratitude and determination, ready to embrace his role in the guard once more.
As they exited the room, (Y/N) couldn't help but feel a sense of responsibility weighing on her. Her unique gift had brought about both wonder and challenges, and her journey among the Volturi was far from over. Felix's transformation back into a vampire was a reminder of the complexities of their existence, and it was a chapter in her story that would shape her path in ways she had yet to discover.

Firefighter!Kagami Taiga x F!reader
Note:( Fluff fic, Domestic Fic, Firefighter kagami au, Based on a tiktok video I saw where a firefighter was holding his newborn child in his bare chest and it reminds me of kagami in some ways)
![Tumblr media](https://64.media.tumblr.com/5816e07244c160532b30aac5e3ea7809/7ac316e7228c9b56-d3/s540x810/69868bf25bb854384d026486bc8e4d8027739158.jpg)
The sky outside had darkened, soft hues of twilight slipping into the room through the curtains. You rocked gently in the glider, the faint hum of your daughter’s breath filling the quiet as she rested in your arms, her tiny fingers curled against your chest. The day had been long, punctuated by diaper changes, feedings, and snatches of sleep in between, and yet there was a peacefulness in this moment as you held her close, feeling the weight of this new life in your arms.
And then, you heard the unmistakable sound of the front door clicking open. A warmth bloomed in your chest, knowing who it was even before you saw him. Taiga was finally home.
You looked up as he entered, his tall frame filling the doorway, and your heart skipped a beat. His face was tired, a day’s worth of exhaustion etched across his features, but his eyes softened immediately as he caught sight of you and your daughter together. Without a word, he moved toward you, an almost reverent gentleness in the way he crossed the room, leaving his work boots by the door.
Taiga always looked handsome, but there was something about him after a long shift that made him feel like a real-life hero. Maybe it was the way his shoulders sagged just slightly from the weight of his day, or the lingering scent of smoke and fresh air that clung to his clothes. He was still in his firefighter uniform, soot and ash dusting his jacket, his hands rough from a day’s work. But as he reached out to gently touch your shoulder, he looked at you with such tenderness that it made your heart swell.
“Hey,” he whispered, his voice deep and soft, as if he didn’t want to disturb the calm.
“Hey yourself,” you murmured back, smiling up at him. “Long day?”
He nodded, his eyes glancing to your daughter, his expression melting into something vulnerable and sweet. “You have no idea.”
Without another word, he pulled off his heavy, flame-resistant jacket, tossing it onto a chair. The undershirt he wore beneath clung to his broad chest, and you watched as he took hold of the fabric and tugged it over his head, revealing the lean muscles of his torso, damp with sweat. You swallowed, unable to stop your eyes from wandering across his shoulders, his arms, the faint line that trailed down his abs and disappeared into his pants.
It never failed to amaze you how strong he looked, his body a testament to the work he put in every day, protecting others and risking his life to keep people safe. And as he stood there in just his firefighter pants, his boots left by the door, he looked every bit the hero that he was.
“Do you want to hold her?” you asked softly, trying to keep your voice steady as you took in the sight of him.
His face broke into a gentle smile, his eyes softening as he reached out for your daughter. He moved with such care, his large hands cradling her head as he took her from your arms. And when she settled against his bare chest, he held her as if she were the most precious thing in the world, his every movement tender and deliberate.
Taiga gazed down at your daughter, his expression filled with wonder as he ran a finger along her tiny hand. You couldn’t look away, mesmerized by the sight of this strong, fearless man so completely captivated by someone so small. Your heart swelled with love, and you bit your lip to keep from letting out the soft, giddy sigh that was building up inside you.
Watching him, the man you loved, holding the life you’d created together—it was almost too much. He looked up at you with that same look of awe, his gaze filled with a deep, unspoken love that made you want to wrap your arms around him and never let go.
“She’s so beautiful,” he murmured, his voice filled with pride. His daughter stirred, letting out a soft sound, and he pulled her closer to his chest, his fingers brushing gently over her head.
You couldn’t help but smile, your eyes tracing the lines of his face, the way his brows furrowed slightly as he looked down at her. He was completely captivated, his every movement infused with a tenderness that seemed almost at odds with his rugged, powerful exterior. And in that moment, you were reminded of why you’d fallen for him in the first place—his heart, his strength, his devotion to the people he loved.
“She gets that from you,” you whispered, reaching out to brush a stray piece of hair from his forehead.
He chuckled, a low sound that rumbled in his chest, and your daughter stirred in his arms, letting out a tiny sigh. Taiga leaned down, pressing a soft kiss to her forehead, his eyes filled with a love so deep it made your chest ache.
When he looked up at you, his gaze softened, his expression warm and adoring. “I missed you both so much today,” he murmured, his voice rough with emotion.
“We missed you too,” you replied, your voice barely above a whisper.
He reached out, wrapping an arm around your shoulders and pulling you close, so that you were both leaning over your daughter together. In that quiet moment, as you felt the warmth of his skin against yours, his arm solid and reassuring around you, you knew that this was everything you’d ever wanted.
You leaned into him, resting your head on his shoulder, feeling the steady beat of his heart beneath your cheek. There was a calm in his presence, a strength that reassured you, that reminded you of everything he was—the protector, the provider, the man who had given you his heart and, in turn, filled yours.
“Thank you,” you whispered, reaching up to run your fingers along his jawline. “For everything.”
He smiled, his eyes filled with love and gratitude, and you knew, without a doubt, that he would always be there for you, just as he always had. Taiga wasn’t just a firefighter; he was your home, your heart, your everything. And as you sat there together, the three of you cocooned in that quiet moment, you knew that there was nowhere else you would rather be.

Stories usually start with a "Once upon a time," a simple phrase that loosens the veil between the familiar and the forgotten, leading listeners into worlds safely confined to dreams. But this story was different; it felt like a secret, like shadows pooling at the edges of your vision, waiting to pull you into a night where time doesn’t pass, where mysteries linger, and every whispered word tastes like something forbidden. This wasn’t just ink on a page; it was a door to someplace half-real, someplace where darkness wrapped you close and left you wondering whether you'd ever find your way back.
This world isn’t like that. Instead, it’s a place where time stands still, its hands frozen in a perpetual twilight, neither moving forward nor offering escape. For some, it feels like eternity, an endless stretch of nothingness where the hours blur together, unchanging. But for others—those who wander the shadows or fall prey to what lurks within—it’s a once upon a nightmare, a story where the darkness never relents, where hope is a fleeting, hollow echo swallowed by the night.

In the year 1663, as dusk painted the sky in blood and shadow, the people of London knew better than to linger outside. Each night, as the first stars appeared, every family bolted doors, snuffed candles, and whispered fevered prayers as they hid behind thick walls. Beyond the windows, darkness belonged to those who had vowed to fight it: priest with holy scriptures clutched tight, town braves with sharpened stakes and pitchforks dispatched in blind white anger, sworn to rid the world of creatures who defied mortal law. Blood demons, shapeshifters, and witches—they were all condemned as sin’s cruel agents, hunted as monsters by men who claimed their duty was divine.
As the town’s lamps extinguished, the silence was cut by hounds howling at the scent of something unnatural. The synchronized march of boots clattered against the cobbled streets, while shouts and commands ricocheted off stone walls, penetrating even the thickest household walls and rattling the bravest hearts. Fear and faith held sway in equal measure as the men marched, some clutching crosses while others wielded silver weapons they designed thinking it would pierce the skin of creatures they had never truly seen.
But beneath the city, where no torchlight reached, another world had been hiding—a world of thirsting hunger, of whispers, of sleepless dark eyes. Through the damp and nearly caved-in sewers, slick with grime and infested with rats, a vampire coven had staked their claim. For months, they’d made their den in this forgotten labyrinth of foulness, surviving in silence, drinking only when the thirst grew unbearable. They’d kept to themselves, unnoticed by the townsfolk above, their existence a secret safeguarded by shadows and silence.
Yet tonight, their precarious sanctuary would be breached. The hunt’s new leader, a young man, by the name of Carlisle Cullen, had taken over from his now deceased father and previous Anglican priest, saw the world through different eyes. Only twenty-three, bold and relentless, he refused to limit his search to open fields or deserted woods as his predecessor had. People would whisper that he was smarter, shrewder; that he sought darkness where no one dared look. And tonight, that unyielding curiosity and grim resolve drove him down, down into the labyrinth of decay beneath London where he’d sworn he saw the monsters lurk. A little far behind him, lanterns casting jagged shadows as his men held their breath and followed.
With each step, the air grew colder, thick with the stench of age-old rot and black mold everywhere. Carlisle pressed forward in step much faster than the others with only two other men at his side, determined until he found it: the coven his father had hunted for two decades and never found was but three arm lengths away from them.
Chaos erupted as soon as the men were heard by this coven. They saw their bright burgundy eyes and weakened bodies suddenly stirring with a vicious, desperate hunger faster than their eyes could keep up. Blood splattered the stone as some of the creatures broke away, dragging one man into the darkness while another, a man speaking in Latin, lashed out on the spot, jaws bared, too starved to hold back. And amid the frenzy, she appeared.
She stood apart from the others, more kept and clean, her form delicate yet unyielding, framed by a grey gown that looked lavish, handmade of silk and cotton. Her skin was impossibly clear, like striking stone, and her fathomless eyes gleamed with something between rage and sorrow. Her lips, faded smooth, curled slightly into frown as she observed the slaughter around her, a cruel beauty etched in her features that seemed both ancient and timeless. She was like a statue come to life, a creature of elegance wrapped in death's chill, and as her gaze locked onto Carlisle, the air thickened.
Carlisle, though terrified, refused to flee. Heart hammering, he charged forward, blade in hand, toward one of the creatures—the one who chanted something fierce in Latin, rallying the other swift, chilling figures that blurred through the shadows as they ran away. But then, in one brutal moment, the world tilted; he was thrown to the ground by the man who had gone into a sudden frenzy, his side searing with pain. Blood seeped from his wounds, pooling on the grimy stone, and his breaths came shallow and sharp. He opened his mouth to scream but bit back the sound, fear taking hold as he thought of the townspeople—would they turn on him, claim he was infected, cursed by the vampire’s disease?
As he clawed at the ground, desperate to pull himself to safety, his gaze drifted upward, and there she was. He could do nothing but stare. Her form seemed to emerge from the darkness like a dream or an illusion, her skin radiant as though lit from within. Every inch of her invited him closer, her elegance disarming him, and he forgot, for a moment, that she was one of the monsters he’d been sent to kill.
“Miss!” he gasped, breath shaky, arm outstretched in a futile plea. “Hurry, quick! Get inside or hide before they… before they kill you!” His voice wavered, a desperate edge creeping into his words as he beckoned to her, oblivious to the danger she posed.
Her expression softened, a flicker of sadness crossing her face, almost as if she pitied him. Then she spoke, her voice ringing out like a gentle chime that seemed to drift through the chaos.
“Dear boy, you should not have come here.” she spoke, her tone light and melodic, as though she needn’t draw a single breath to speak. Her words lingered, brushing against him like silk.
He faltered, as tears traced down his cheek from pain and blood loss trickling from his arm and leg, mingling with the dirt. Confusion contorted his face as he fought to understand while staring at her, then all at once, the truth struck him like a blow to the chest. She’s one of them, his mind spinning, his eyes widening with horror. How easily, how effortlessly, he had been drawn in.
“Don’t be afraid,” she murmured, tilting her head, her dark gaze unwavering. “I won’t kill you.”
“Why wouldn’t you?” he spat, a note of anger mingling with the brokenness in his voice. He could feel the cold tendrils of despair creeping in, the bitter realization that he’d been charmed, deceived by beauty. A little hope that she may put an end to his suffering.
Her lips curled into the faintest smile, her eyes glinting with something unreadable. “I’ve been watching you—son of Cullen,” she replied, a strange fondness in her voice.
“You’ve piqued my interest. You dream of becoming like your father, don’t you? But you desire more. You wish to help others, to save them, and yet here you are, hunting us when you’re worth more. Tell me, why do you follow such cruel orders by such a man that cared not for you?”
Gracefully, she lowered herself to his level, kneeling close enough that he could feel the chill radiating from her. He was breathless, the words caught in his throat as he stared into her dark burgundy, fathomless eyes. The scent of blood hung thick in the air, mingling with the faint, sweet perfume that seemed to cling to her skin. Around them, the body of one of his men lay motionless, strewn like a broken doll across the ground, his eyes glazed and empty.
“You know nothing of me!” he shouted, his voice cracking, the burn of tears threatening to break free. He was shaking now, fear and anger warring inside him. All he could hear were the distant cries of his comrades, the faint echoes of those still coming to join the fray. Yet, for all their noise, it felt as though he and this creature were alone, the last souls in a world drenched in blood and shadow.
Her expression softened, her gaze flickering over his face as if she saw past his fear, his hatred, into something deeper. And for a fleeting moment, he wondered what lay behind those dark eyes, what truth might live within a creature so cold, so deathless. But he pushed the thought away, forcing himself to look anywhere but at her.
“You won’t have to suffer for long. At least not like right now,” she said, a frown lingering on her lips. “But I will tell you this—there is a price to every vow, every hunt, every act of mercy shown. And one day, you’ll have to choose what you stand for.”
Too weak to move, he lay trembling, silent cries catching in his throat as the cold of his skin pressed in. She watched him with a sorrowful frown, her eyes shadowed with something almost tender. And then, with a suddenness he could barely comprehend, she swept him up in her arms. The world blurred, and in the span of a breath, they were far from the echoes of shouts and the clamor of pursuit. She lowered him carefully onto the cool grass beside a riverbank, the night air thick with the quiet gurgling of the slow-moving stream.
“You don’t have much time left,” she murmured, voice softened. “Too much blood lost—you’re dying.” She paused, gazing down at him, her dark eyes almost regretful. “But maybe. . .maybe you’ll take this chance and do something good with it, with this second life. There’s light in it, I swear, if you find it.”
Her words were little more than a whisper, slipping through the cool night air like secrets meant only for him. She took his limp arm, holding it gently before lowering her mouth to his skin. Her fangs pierced his flesh with a sharp, burning pain of silver, and he gasped, feeling the warmth of his blood slipping away, mingling with something that felt like ice, binding him to a pain unlike he felt previously. And then, in the blink of an eye, she was gone, leaving nothing but the faintest swirl of mist where she had knelt.
For a moment, he thought he’d dreamed it all—the pain, a fierce burning agony that raced through his veins, igniting his senses, hollowing him out from the inside out. His arm throbbed with searing heat spreading up to the tips of his fingertips and into his heart, each heartbeat like a pounding fire surging through every inch of him. His breath caught in his throat, unwilling to let out, vision blurring as the transformation began its slow, merciless work.
It would take three days for the change to complete, for his body to surrender fully to the chilling darkness now coursing through him. In those days, he would be caught between two worlds, his mind twisting, his memories reshaping, his humanity slipping away like sand through his fingers. And by the time he would open his fresh red eyes, the girl—the one who had granted him this second life—wouldn’t be seen again. It would be decades before their paths crossed again, though the memory of her face, her voice, her lingering sadness, would haunt him through every year of his endless life.

"Sweetheart, what have I told you about playing with your food?" the smoke leaving the gun blew in their face when the bullet left its cartridge with a loud *bang*, followed by the body thumping to the floor. Y/n shook their head like a parent scolding their child, eyes drawn to their partner feasting upon a human to regain his strength.
It'd been a night of unpleasant surprises. What began as a typical track and dispose of a single target ended with a fight between the two and the vampire's clan. Demetri, who was currently draining his third human of blood, had taken a hard hit.
"That's the last of 'em," Y/n discarded the empty magazine, replacing it with a fresh one before placing it back in its holster. Boots clicking against the pavement as they approached. "How you feeling, pretty boy?"
The sweet taste in Demetri's mouth came to an end, the tracker sighing as he pushed the body away and stood up. "Like a newborn soothing their first quench of thirst." Turning to face Y/n, the hunter chuckled with teasing eyes, Demetri watching them remove a handkerchief from their pocket and bringing it up to his lips.
"I could tell from how messy you are," the cloth swiped over his lips, grazing along his chin and parts of his jaw where the liquid had spilled. "Haven't seen you like this in ages. You sure you can make the trip back in one piece?"
"Very funny," Demetri rolled his eyes, leaning into their touch when they pulled away, but not before placing a sweet kiss to his lips. Few times they'd kissed and Y/n unfortunately got a lick of the iron taste in their mouth. After one too many, Y/n made sure to keep tissue or rags on them at all times.
"Don't worry," they winked, dumping the cloth on the ground to mark where they'd burn the bodies. "I won't tell Felix."
Demetri playfully shoved Y/n away, their giggles filling the alley. They both hauled the bodies--ten to be exact when you count the rogue vampires and three humans--to the middle and quickly set the pile a flame. Reducing it all to ash.
Y/n lit a cigarette, taking a deep inhale before blowing the smoke out, eyes watching the flames dance against the dark. "I'm serious though, babe," they turned to look at Demetri, "Are you okay? You took a pretty hard hit, and I know you just fed but still."
Demetri smirked, crossing his arms over his chest while peering down at Y/n, "Worried about me, hunter? That's a first." They scoffed, making his smirk widen.
"Don't be coy with me, vampire. You might be as strong as Zeus and as old as the Pyramids, but I still worry about you." Y/n took another drag, leaning into his side which had Demetri place an arm around their shoulder. "We're a team. I can't have you dying on me yet."
See now that was pretty much a declaration of love.
Demetri knew it too. An indication by the way his red eyes seemed to sparkle, and his face morphed into genuine awe.
"A pretty good team, If I must say," a gloved hand came up to run his fingers through their hair, Y/n leaning more into his embrace.
"Exactly. It's only been a decade," their voice then lowered, laced with softness as the affection conveyed in their gaze. "You promised me forever."
"And forever you shall have, my darling hunter." Came the vow, affirmed with the gentle press of lips to their forehead.
By now the fire had lost its fuel. Ash remained, and the wind breezing by lifted it into the air. No trace left behind.
Y/n collected the casings of their bullets, dropping them into a little pouch secured on their belt holster. Demetri moving to grab his cloak that had fallen in a scuffle. Once they made sure the coast was clear, Demetri pulled Y/n onto his back, speeding out of the alley and to the borders of the neighboring city.
"Well that was fun," Y/n sighed with a smile, grasping Demetri's extended hand once they were back on their feet. The two now walking to the hotel Aro reserved for them. The moon was high, shining its light down. Stars pained the sky, and businesses opened late were getting ready to close as the hands on the clock drew near 2am. "But then again it always is."
Voices of drunken patrons and tourists sounded around the couple. The streets of Madrid clearing with each minute, as humans desired sleep and hurried to their homes.
"Do you remember that night in Budapest?" Y/n asked suddenly, catching sight of a man and woman locked in a passionate kiss. Demetri followed their gaze, lips curling up.
"You mean the night we met?"
"What a night it was," Y/n hummed, squeezing his hand. The coldness of his marble skin felt comforting against their gloves. Y/n smiled when he squeezed back, "Can't believe it's been ten years."
Demetri looked at them amused, "If I remember correctly, you tried to kill me." Y/n gasped.
"Excuse me, vampire. You were the one trying to kill me."
"Oh I was only doing my job." He defended without actually putting up a fight. Fueling the natural banter between them they both loved. "Following orders mind you that were strict and would have me answering to Aro if I failed. It was you who got in the way by shooting my target."
Y/n shrugged with a roll of the eyes, not offended at all. "You were the one taking so damn long with your speech. I only speed up the process. Besides, the guy had a bounty on him. I was following my orders." They then mumbled under their breath, "Lost the payment thanks to you."
Demetri had incapacitated Y/n by knocking them out and stealing the body to show Aro. An action which had the hunter track his ass down in Volterra. Catching him off guard once again and igniting round 2 of their attempts to kick the others ass.
Eventually--after six months of constant one upping the other to the annoyance of the Volturi and Y/n's Hunting Committee, the two came to a truce. Followed by partnering on jobs or teaming up when they both ran into each other.
It wasn't long before feelings formed between hunter and vampire. The attraction was already instilled, both Demetri and Y/n admitting to themselves but never aloud. They sat on opposite sides of the spectrum. It was a forbidden fantasy. Not to mention they got under each other's skin. Y/n teased Demetri's professionalism and authority, he found them to be reckless and impulsive. It took time to find a balance.
Once that happened, the volcano was about to erupt.
"I apologize," Demetri stopped under a streetlamp, pulling Y/n to him so their chests met. The golden light illuminating their face, enhancing their features they were like an angel walking among him. "How can I ever make it up to you, my sweet, brave, supernatural hunter and lover?"
Laughter echoed, Y/n tilting their head back allowing the light to dance across their cheeks. Demetri brightened at the sound. A melody he swore he could get drunk off of. Vowing to kill any threat that came to Y/n to make sure he got to hear that sound for the rest of his undead life.
Composing themself, Y/n connected their eyes with the red ruby ones they loved. "Just keep watching my six, pretty boy. That's all I'll ever need from you. Forever."
"You said it yourself, darling. We make a pretty good team."
"The best team."
