Your post regarding specifc places for things and some places dont need a vent channel it helped me realise that the people i follow online were damaging to my health. They were constantly sharing real people who died horrifically and saying things like "if you dont share you're supporting violence " while i only joined social media to view art.

I actively speak about real life events offline with my family, we always talk about whats happening in the world once a week and mention anything new within the local and worldwide news. I didn't understand why social media was worsening my mental health around these topics since i could speak about it in real life with my family. i assumed i was horrible for simply not wanting to see it online, When your post about a safe space came up i realised why it made me feel so bad, the artists i followed no longer were posting art and were just constantly sharing news daily about horrific events. It became inescapable and i was unknownly doomscrolling for hours on social media while hoping to see art (that just made me feel bad viewing after seeing so much death) , my only escape was going offline. I already made new accounts just for art and Im so thankful for your post since i did avoid everything that was about real world events since the account is only for art and i feel so much more.. i guess happier.. but definitely more mentally healthy if that makes sense? It felt like my mind was drained or foggy when scrolling through social media, and i wasnt actually paying attention before but now its a lot more, clear, healthy and positive. Im able to think properly and actually pay attention and appreciate the good things online

I'm so glad I was able to help you on your journey to bettering your wellbeing. Its an aspect of why I run this blog and talk about the things that I do.

So very often people don't actually register or realize what parts of their lives are causing stress. They attribute it to 'working too much' or 'not sleeping enough' without realizing that there are direct causes for things like not sleeping enough. And I'm not saying every single part of life comes back to activism, but very often we don't even realize how much negativity and forced awareness we're exposing ourselves to.

I used to religiously follow accounts on Instagram which posted about animal abuse. Other than a handful of celebrities my Instagram feed would be the most graphic videos you could imagine of people hacking into live dogs with axes, boiling cats alive in huge vats of water, jockeys tearing at horse's mouths until their teeth were loose and they were leaving a trail of blood as they walked the winner's circle.

I used to think if I wasn't constantly forcing myself to acknowledge that these things were happening, if I wasn't constantly reminding myself the extent at which these things happen, I was a bad person. I wasn't a real animal lover. If I truly loved animals why wasn't I sharing these videos? Why wasn't I sitting there with thousands of other people acknowledging what animals go through while I sit comfy at home doing nothing?

It got the point where I'd be throwing up constantly, I refused to sleep because I was terrified of the nightmares and my hands would shake as I opened up the Instagram app because I dreaded what I'd see today.

It wasn't helping me. It wasn't helping the animals. I'm just as aware now of what animals go through without having to see any of it.

But now, I have the wellbeing to actually devote myself to meaningful activism. Not just tormenting myself to no outcome. Now, I have the willpower and the energy to sign petitions and do research and take steps in my own life to better the welfare of the animals in my care.

Now I can sleep at night and wake up well-rested with the energy and the motivation to do things both for myself and for other people. Now, I can scroll Instagram and leave polite, correctional comments on misguided videos about animals. Now I have the knowledge to devote my attention and my efforts to where it actually makes a difference and changes animal's lives.

It is such, such a hard thing to drag yourself out of. We're so conditioned into thinking suffering shared is suffering lessened. We're so conditioned into believing that by spamming words anywhere we can we are the direct cause of change.

Its a hell of a learning climb. A steep one. But I genuinely believe the world would be better off for learning and changing as we both had the courage to.

Mostly OOC but since I mention a left-wing streamer who usually mostly does politics I'm going to vent about this here.

I don't usually watch Hasan. I don't really like his "America bad no matter what" attitude. But I do follow the fan Twitter account that's dedicated to his pet bear.

About a week ago or so he had a stream where he got a tour of an animal sanctuary and he advertised it with him feeding a young rat and the fan account retweeted it so I caved in and watched it. (Because I'm a sucker for animals.)

In the sanctuary there were some animals who were rescued from an illegal wild animal auction. (It's California, so I imagine that they mostly appeal to celebrities.)

There was a fox who was bred to have a shorter snout and he's just a bit too domesticated to be released into the wild, but still not domesticated enough to be a pet because he's not a pet. He has a really pretty gray/black coat and he was pretty nervous, probably because of where the hell he came from.

So here's where the venting really comes in- I went to a local pet store to get some things for my rabbits and they had a black Pomeranian mix who looks a lot like that fox. Anybody who wants a black fox who's been poorly bred could just get a damn dog who looks like one!

I love that dog. He's super friendly and is absolutely loving the attention he was getting from me, but when I was petting him I was still getting mad. Just get a fucking dog if you want a fucking dog!

Or don't, actually. I don't trust anybody who would want a selectively bred wild animal as a pet to ever have any pet. Somebody who will buy a wild animal only wants the novelty of owning a wild animal, not a companion.

Dazai's Father was a monster.

It wasn't even what he did to Dazai that made him that way in Dazai's eyes. Dazai had raised a cat from a very young age, bottle feeding it, and it was his constant companion for many years.

In the end his Father tortured and killed it in front of him just to get a reaction out of him.

He will forgive his Father for abusing him, but he never forgave him for that specific instance. Ever. He considered going back to his family home to murder him many times while he was in the mafia.

In the end he chose to leave it alone and walk away. No one really understands why he made that choice.

Unfortunately this is very common in Kalos because tourists love the look of the cute eeveelution that they so rarely see in their own region-- and then they get a Pokémon they cannot manage. Lots of Sylveon on the streets of Kalos where they do not belong :/

Actually, yeah, I AM going to expand on how I don't fucking trust any eevee breeder that adopts out sylveon or eevee they guarantee will evolve into sylveon.

There's two ways, but both involve techniques similar to "love bombing."

The eevee is neglected. Physical needs will be met (food, water, shelter), but the breeder will ignore them and/or berate them. They'll occasionally switch to showering the eevee with affection before suddenly withdrawing it. Sometimes two people are involved. One the neglector and the other the love bomber.

In either process, the eevee will have a broken since of love and trust and will STRONGLY bond to the little bits of love they're given. They'll evolve into a sylveon for them.

Sylveon form strong attachments to whoever they evolved for, but they usually start getting ignored again after evolution so they're ready to attach themselves to someone new. You! Or whoever is adopting.

Same exact thing goes for eevee that are advertised as a "guarantee sylveon!" The breeder can only guarantee it because the eevee were neglected. Of course a new owner is going to shower them in love.

Whether it's an adoptable sylveon or a "guaranted sylveon" eevee, both will likely result in strong behavioral issues. Possessiveness, aggression towards other Pokémon and/or people, intense separation anxiety, and other destructive behaviors.

DO NOT SUPPORT THESE BREEDERS. They are absolutely wicked people abusing the naturally adoring nature of these Pokémon.

And yes yes, not every breeder that's adopting out a sylveon neglected them. Sometimes they held onto the eevee for a little too long, maybe the eevee was a little more excited and loving. Maybe this wasn't even a Pokémon they personally bred. But breeders are typically VERY careful about this sort of thing. It shouldn't be a common occurrence.

Also, I hope you've gotten your license for that key stone. If you haven't gone through the rigorous training required before attempting Mega Evolution, it's a felony in a lot of regions, since it's considered Pokemon abuse in that case.

I am sick and tired of seeing shit takes from people about how characters like Sawako (Kimi ni Todoke) and Miyo (My Happy Marriage) are "unfeminist" because they're shy and soft-spoken. One of my neighbors is antisemitic and threatened to shoot my dog. My other neighbor has now made it a habit to have her gun within reach and openly carry it with her when I take my dog out to pee. I'm both very grateful to have someone who will be a bodyguard for my dog and exhausted that my dog needs a bodyguard to pee in his own yard.

"But Palestine", the guy says, whenever he sees me, and I want to scream. My dog is not oppressing Palestinians. He's peeing in a yard in Wisconsin. No Palestinian lives will be improved by shooting him.

one of the saddest things abt having a rescue animal in which you don't know its past is just being able to tell they were abused at some point in their life. i've had my cat bella for about a year now—she appeared in my yard one day out of nowhere, with an injured leg, skin infection, and full of worms, and even though she was terrified of me at first, i earned her trust enough to take her to the vet. spent weeks earning her love and nursing her back to health. she was microchipped, and her previous "owner" lived over a two hour drive away. despite numerous attempts to get this woman to come pick up her cat she said she wanted, she never came, which is for the best. i know there is no way that cat walked that far. i know she was dumped. but legally i had to try to contact the owner. on the final phone call with her, she confessed she was not coming for the cat, and ghosted me after that.

anyway, after a few months trying and failing to find this cat a home with multiple people saying they wanted her and then changing their minds, i finally decided to take her in for good because i knew i had the capacity to care for her and this whole jumping around homes thing was not good for her. even though i was really afraid of how she and my other cats would get along

nowadays bella sits on my desk every single night, happy, healthy, well cared for and well fed, but even though I've never shown this cat anything but love and kindness, she still flinches when i move. she still becomes defensive and bites or scratches me if i move in a certain way that scares her. she still carries that fear with her. i can show this cat as much love, patience, and care as i can, but it will never take away the fact that earlier in her life, someone she trusted hurt her and abandoned her. and i will never stop feeling sick knowing that somewhere within the first 6 years of this cat's life, she was living in fear & being hurt by someone. but i have no proof other than how she behaves. but i know what causes that behavior. and i am so glad she has me now, someone who she can spend the rest of her life with, knowing nothing but love. im at least thankful that out of all the yards to randomly appear in, she chose mine

Unfortunately, I feel like US is a bit behind in a lot of these areas. Declawing cats is another thing that absolutely 100% should be illegal but sadly isn't (though I do believe it depends on the State?).

You're also not allowed to separate kittens from their mom until they are 12 weeks old in Denmark (not sure about puppies), which is the age when they naturally start to become more independent, and looking at the cat we adopted from a shelter in the US, there is definitely behavior issues likely stemming from being separated too early.

It's illegal in a lot of places--most of Europe, I think, at least. But it's still legal in the US, though a lot of people are still trying to get it banned, same with tail docking.

Do you think a nightmare would force Killer into 1 to punish (tourture) him?

Like, killer goes too far, nightmare knows killer doesn't really feel anything in 2, 3, or 4 (him just getting more distant/violent), so instead, he forces him into the only mode where Killer feels anything and then punishes him accordingly?

I mean it’s a possibility, but Nightmare would need to know what triggers Killer into stage 1, and if I know one thing, is that Killer won’t let Nightmare in on what could triggers him to that stage

Nightmare’s negativity has no true power to switch him to stage 1, but rather it switches him to stage 2

I’d say Killer would be extremely careful of being in stage 1 at all in Nightmare’s presence, or whenever he’s even within his vicinity at all, he knows Nightmare would be unforgiving, even torture him at that stage if he was in the mood for it, not to mention, the environment he lives in doesn’t allow for vulnerability or weakness, something that Killer himself hates in himself, so I think Killer might find ways to prevent Nightmare from knowing he’s at stage 1 if he can help it

It doesn’t mean that Killer never was at stage 1 or was never on the verge of switching to it a few times within Nightmare’s presence, but he tries not to be in that vulnerable position if he could

If Nightmare somehow found a way to forcefully switch Killer to stage 1 (which I believe would be a very unpleasant experience to Killer), then I don’t see him above actually forcing him to that stage just to torture him

The thing is though, I think despite any stage, Killer can be tortured in any way, whether physically, mentally, or emotionally

While Killer is dissociated and distant at stage 2, and that dissociation only intensifies the higher the stage, Killer is still Killer despite the stage he’s in, cause while Killer can have a love for physical pain in stage 2 for example, it’s crucial to understand that his love for that pain stems from the want to be tied to reality, pain grounds him

I think Nightmare would only truly want to have Killer at stage 1 if he wants killer to respond to that torture in a more typical manner, such as begging for mercy, or a genuine look of fear on Killer’s face, otherwise I think Nightmare would have no problem to torture Killer at any stage really, cause Nightmare knows that despite Killer’s atypical way to respond to torture, he’s still being tortured regardless

Not that I believe Killer can’t have more typical responses to torture at stage 2 or higher, but Nightmare would have to know exactly what to do to get those more typical responses (such as taking Killer’s soul away for weeks on end) but generally, his responses are not typical

Not to mention, Killer is prone to switching stages rapidly at a very short period of time, when Nightmare tortures Killer’s cat, Killer is seen at stage 1 at first, only to switch to stage 2 after everything is over (all while his soul is still wavering) it’s an obvious sign that Killer dissociated himself from what was happening at the moment that he ended up at stage 2, but is in a shaky position where he’s conflicted on what to do or feel

Which is why, to me at least, torturing Killer works at any stage really, cause even if Nightmare were to torture Killer at stage 1, Killer would simply dissociate cause of it and end up at higher stages regardless

The Spell Ball is made using a mix of Heal and Dusk Ball parts, along with a tiny bit of Level Ball fuckery. This Ball is specially purposed to house Dragon and Fairy Types, making them easier to catch in a battle!

The Engine Ball is similarly made, instead using Quick and Timer Ball parts to be effective for Electric and Steel types!
