Fascinating situation at work today. Not sure if this is a straight normative thing to do or a neurotypical thing or a combination of the two but anyway I didn't really anticipate or understand it at all.
We had to do, for fun, a personality test at work to categorise ourselves. (Naturally they Harry Potter themed it bc why not use a cultural touchstone 15 years out of date & now divisive)
So naturally I answered the questions honestly and got the result I expected. (🐍)
Only to then find out that everyone else in my team had done one or more of:
1) tried to cheat the quiz to rig it for a particular result
2) aimed for the answer they assumed the boss wanted to hear
3) answered all the questions in a way so as to appear non threatening, submissive etc. - let me reiterate this was a bit of fun and the results weren't saved anywhere
(Or maybe for some of them this was the natural state)
I've never before seen such a blatant example of adults (aged 30s-60s) literally manifesting peer pressure on themselves and each other over something so ridiculously trivial.
Suddenly it makes sense why we never seem to get anything done or make strides to progress through things if everyone is always second-guessing and trying to give the 'right' answer rather than following logical process.

I spend hours mapping out Rowling's network of hate and the only thing I archieved was making me sad. Why does she hate people like me so much she associates with the worst possible kind of people? Sexists, Racists, Antisemites, I could keep going…
She once said the vice she most despises is bigotry. That gonna be a lmao from me, Joanne.

Apparently Rowling hasn't tweeted since her cyber bullying meltdown, and I'm thinking that might be related to Imane Khelif's lawsuit, and now I'm wondering if we can give her an additional gold medal for being the first person to ever get JK to finally shut the fuck up.

Somewhat forgive me for any "annoying writing" here. But it was to my bestie and my partner, you're more the after thought. But it's funny enough to share imo.
Today in things that aged like milk, a bumper sticker saying "not today mugglefucker".
And if you can't think of why this aged like milk, besides rowling's transphobia/sexism/racism/etall consider how there was a time the right was adopting death eater slang, calling the antivaxxers purebloods and people who got it mudblood). You really wanna try to make a curse/insult like you-vxcausedautism-fucker?
But play Sherlock for a moment with me. Do you notice the color differences?
Pretty sure the driver has removed the bottom one. You can ascertain that because its the same color as the car but it has a shiny appearance due to recent rain. Residue.
But not the top one. That one is white, still a contrasting color.

Dr Gregory House making the leap from fictional character to reality just to invade a famous author's house and diagnose her well-known case of TERF as actually being a case of horrendous mold poisoning would in fact be the most hilarious way possible for JKR to be redeemed at this point.
does JKR actually have black mould growing in her house? probably not. but until such a time as she publicly provides proof to the contrary such as doctor's note i think we should all continue to say that she has black mould poisoning. its only fair.

There are a huge number of gender-crossing elements in the Harry Potter books!
Honestly, not to beat a dead horse here but it’s utterly WILD that JK Rowling, head British TERF managed to put into her fictional world that she didn’t want to have any trans-ness or gender barrier crossing within elements including:
A gender-neutral school uniform worn by all students
Gender-neutral clothing that is worn by all adults, including males wearing bright, traditionally feminine colours and fabrics like lace, satin, silk, with nobody finding this strange or unusual
The one sport participated in at Hogwarts and the largest sport in wizarding society is co-ed, with male and female players on the same team both at school and professional level, not divided into men’s and women’s leagues
Changing rooms are co-ed, with the implication at multiple points that cis boys and girls change clothes and shower communally in front of each other, with no suggestion that there are cubicles or other such barriers
The large, bearded hero Hagrid has many traditionally feminine accoutrements, likes the colour pink, and refers to themself with she/her pronouns on multiple occasions
The first book includes a pivotal scene where cis boys have to go into the girls’ bathroom in order to rescue a girl and the girl is very thankful that they went in to save her. Teachers witness this and do not punish or admonish the boys for entering the girls’ bathroom.
The second book includes many pivotal scenes where cis boys are in the girls’ bathroom. They are invited in by a girl who is perfectly comfortable with them being there. If they had not entered the girls’ bathroom they would not have been able to participate in multiple major plot points, and a female student would have died because they had not been there to save her.
A potion exists by which people can transform their whole bodies into other people - which can be used to change gender, which is demonstrated on multiple occasions
Certain people exist who can transform their bodies into other forms without the aid of potions
The most famous band in the wizarding world is The Weird Sisters, a group made up of males only who are quite comfortable using a feminine name for their group. Nobody finds it unusual or remark-worthy that none of the Weird Sisters are women.
One male and one female Prefect are chosen from each year group and they have their own special bathroom. This bathroom is co-ed and the bathing facility is one communal tub, with no indication that there are also separate bathing or showering facilities, separating screens or anything for privacy or modesty
Male characters frequently have long flowing hair which is typically associated with female characters in children’s fiction
It is visibly hard to tell the gender of non-human magical beings, which is described on several occasions
Characters who are most stereotypically and self-assuredly masculine or feminine (the Dursleys, Cormac McLaggen, Lavender Brown) are looked down upon and are figures of embarrassment and fun for the heroes of the story.
In isolation any of these elements could be taken as a hint that the author was quite open-minded or did not care so much about traditional views of gender, normality and/or propriety. The fact that Rowling was able to write in all of these elements when she didn’t need to and could quite easily have chosen to not include them, if she firmly wanted to depict a world with strict gender boundaries, is thus either a sign of exceptionally poor writing, blinkers on as to what kind of society she was actually describing as opposed to what she intended to portray, or a suggestion that in actuality the lady doth protest too much - and that much of her latest rants and ramblings about trans people and the threat they pose are more stubbornness at being challenged and/or trying to stay in with her ‘new friends’ rather than views she has consistently held all through her life.
How does it all possibly add up, otherwise?

If you're not on Xitter, you might have missed the whole "JK Rowling has black mold seeping through her walls in her profile pic, and that's why she's Like That now" debacle.
And can I just say, as someone who also had black mold in the walls of my house that was making me deathly ill and affecting my mental health, I'm really not enjoying the connotations that breathing in black mold spores make you a racist transphobe.
Like I'm just saying. There's off your rocker because you're becoming Patient Zero and then there are the life choices and decisions she has chosen to make because she's a bigot.
The two are not the same.
Stop making excuses for her.

Like the problem with buying Harry Potter merch is that Rowling uses that money to fund bigoted movements, not that "the Harry Potter books suck". Like good on you if you never liked Harry Potter, but the literary quality of the Harry Potter books is completely irrelevant to why we shouldn't buy the merch

Let me put it in simple explanation for all you brainless peeps out there:
Lovecraft: creator is dead and therefore makes no profit off work and is not given a platform to spread hate, okay to buy and talk about.
FNAF: creator makes profit and has funded conservative campaigns but does not use his voice to support it so its okay to pirate and talk about.
Harry Potter: creator is actively making profit off of and using the popularity to continue hate. will NOT stop spreading hate even if money is stopped through pirating, therefore not okay to buy, pirate, or talk about.
I hope this is fucking simple enough.

I've made a strong resolution to unfollow anybody who is supporting Hogwarts JKR game.
And then one of the most important influencers in hair maintenance polish universe (who is btw autistic) listens to the games music.
So not buying the game. And I suppose the music is great quality, said by many. And I think that that person might by not aware of all boycott transphobe thing.
So I broke my resolution and I hate it.
