I'm not putting Wilson in the microwave. That sick twisted freak would enjoy it too much
I'm putting him in a room full of people telling him they love him and making him have good days where none of his patients die and House does a legal amount of mischief. This would freak him out because this man can't experience happiness without it being tinged with the anticipation of when it will end

i could genuinely write an essay on this cover it is so beautiful and wonderful and wow you can tell how much thought was put into it... wahhhh
gansey’s hand on ronan’s shoulder, only person who he’d allow to keep a steady hand on him like that. gansey smiling so wide at blue, oh, fuck, the way they look at each other. easy, gentle, like there is nothing that comes more naturally, than this.
adam being the one furthest away from the group, only one staring ahead, (at the future he tries so hard make for himself: “one day, one day…”), showcasing the divide he feels from the others… he looks so sad but his mullet! mullet adam win!
ronan stares at us because he knows things that he won’t share: secrets of a world outside of their own. of magic. of dreams, that he makes reality.
and noah… he stares at all of them, with a mix of disbelief. wonder. admiration. longing: oh. i have been on this quest before, but not like this. oh. this is what real friendship looks like. oh. i can’t be a part of this forever. oh. i don’t want to let go
#reblogging because this cover looks great but I haven't read this series yet#definitely will one day tho#the raven cycle

I'm seeing a lot of "ugh, so we can't even criticize fic authors anymore?" posts popping up on here and the ao3 subreddit and I just want to say, for the record: No one's saying you can't criticize (fanfic) authors publicly. They're saying it's rude and antithetical to positive fandom experience. And, yes there's a difference.
If this website was a conference and I had just spent a whole afternoon listening to a presentation on [unpopular fic trope] and after that was done, I got up on stage and very publicly told the audience that [unpopular fic trope] was illogical and anyone who writes it is woefully misinformed and should be banned from writing [relevant character], that would in fact be a dick move.
"But the canon character would never--" it doesn't matter. You're shouting down the hall at the person who just happily did a whole seminar on their OOC version of that character. "But I don't like that the author chose to make them--" good, you're well-acquainted with your likes and dislikes, time to find another fic.
We all run into fics and interpretations we don't like. But there's a huge difference between loudly talking about it on Tumblr where the author can see it, and just venting in a private discord or other group. Also, gentle reminder that this is a hobby for most writers and something they do purely because they enjoy it. Stop being massive dicks just because you feel entitled to a certain flavor of fanfiction you will probably be chasing until the Reformation of Krypton.

Hot take that might get me canceled but people who want adaptations to be word for word/shot for shot like the source material are incredibly boring. I’m sorry but it what world does that even make sense??? You cannot adapt a book and expect everything to be exactly the same. The PJO tv series for example: I understand having certain frustrations with the show, it’s definitely not perfect and deserves some criticism. But it was never going to be exactly like the books, things had to change and be excluded for it to work in a tv series format.
And with the HTTYD movie, wanting a live action adaptation that is just the animated movie but with real people is boring. Why would y’all even want that?? It’s like the Lion King “live action” movie all over again.
Y’all need to get a grip and understand that adaptations will never be a carbon copy of the source material. If you wanna experience the original work REREAD/REWATCH IT.

How to Ditch Amazon
Support your local libraries and the small businesses that are actually making the products you want. Fuck Jeff Bezos and the systemic, universal worker abuse, gaslighting, and brutality they live off of.
#hoopla is another good library app#you can only check out 3 things a month and idk if it has as much as libby#but theres still a lot on there and it comes in handy#books#libraries#digital library#book resources
