This is a good question, thanks so much for asking! I'm sorry that I wasn't clear enough in my DNI.

I've just googled what 'transid' means, and I'm getting conflicting results. On one hand, some people are saying it includes things like 'transracial' or 'transabled' individuals, which I do not agree with and will not make space for on my platform. On the other, some people are saying it includes therians and otherkin folk, which I absolutely do agree with, love, and appreciate. Until I learn for sure what the label 'transid' is supposed to mean, I won't make a blanket statement, sorry.

And as for endogenic systems, I personally don't feel comfortable making a statement on that. As a singlet, I find it important to listen to plural people, and I have been given points from both sides of the 'issue', as it were, by friends that I hold very dear, and I just don't think it's right for me to definitively state that I know more about someone's own mental health/community than they do. I'm really sorry for my non-answer, and I know that by 'not choosing a side' I am, effectively, choosing a side. hiii long time no long ass recs post! i wanna recommend media that is popular w landmine types for newbies to the subculture, and recommendations for those who might have been here long enough to know the most popular media within jirai subculture and want some recommendations beyond that!

so without further ado...

1. Tomorrow, I Will Become Someone's Girlfriend

TW: unsafe sex work, abusive relationships, body dysmorphia, self harm, substance use, misogyny, and parental death

Okay you knew this was coming. It's probably the most popular manga amongst jirai girls as it literally is about Kabukicho, sex work, trauma, and jirai culture. Everyone's seen Yua at this point, and she is a jiraicon, but the other characters are interesting and may be relatable to jirai girls too!

2. Mahou Shoujo Site

TW: sexual assault, r@pe, abusive family dynamics, transphobia, self-harm, suicide, murder, gore, bullying, human sacrifice

This is probably also familiar to people in the jirai community and yandereblr. Super mega fucked-up parody of magical girl animes with a cast of memorable but mentally unhinged and often morally gray-to-terrible characters with a hopeful message at the end. The most unfortunate girls around Japan get given magical girl items to improve their lives, but using them drains their life force- and someone's on the hunt for magical girls, all while the countdown to the apocalypse ticks down on the mysterious magical girl site. DO NOT BOTHER WITH THE ANIME, JUST READ THE MANGA!!

3. Needy Girl Overdose/Needy Streamer Overload

TW: substance abuse, self-harm, murder (potentially), suicide, non-graphic sexual content, abuse (player is being abused by the main character), unreality, internet addiction

Duh. I can't not have this game on here! Created by a renowned menhera subculture artist and featuring Jirai icons Ame-chan and KAngel, this game has blown up unexpectedly since its release, getting art exhibits and collabs with brands like DearMyLove. You play as P-chan, Ame/KAngel's boyfriend and producer, while you try to help her achieve her goals of becoming an influencer and prevent her from killing herself or going insane along the way. If you've been in a relationship like this as the P-chan, I'm sorry we relate but this game was super therapeutic to me so maybe it'll help you process too!! Also the soundtrack fucks. Hard.

4. Neeko wa Tsurai Yo!

TW: agoraphobia, existentialism, substance use (kind of), ecchi (of both adult and high schooler characters), suicidal ideation, internet addiction

This is a super underrated personal favorite I've posted about a few times before. It follows hikki-NEET gacha gamer Niiko, as she faces jealousy of her little sister for being farther in life than her as a high-schooler, the trauma of a particularly horrific job rejection keeping her from going outside or trying for another job, and being totally fed up with her life. It's a pretty depressing read for the first half, but becomes a realistic story about recovery by the end.

5. Wristcut Warriors: Menherachan

TW: suicide attempts, self-harm (duh), parental abuse, parental death, parental neglect, attempted sexual assault, mild gore, societal ableism/sanism

Much more popular in the menhera subculture than anywhere else, but still popular enough with landmine types to be included, and a personal comfort series of mine. This is a satire manga about three teenage magical girls who have to self-harm to transform, meant as an allegory for how suffering and self-sacrifice for the sake of upholding societal norms is seen as more noble in Japan than speaking out etc. It's pretty short with only 20 chapters and some supplemental material, and tons of merch collabs but due to Ezaki being the actual fucking worst i encourage you to only but fanmerch and second-hand.

6. Danganronpa

TW: murder, suicide, ableist depiction of DID, misgendering (kind of, im not getting into ******* discourse so ill put it jic), SA, addiction,and general violence and blood

I'm biased as a Danganronpa multi-kin and selfshipper but I personally think every jirai should play Danganronpa, read the supplemental materials and watch DR3 if they can. Quirky teens with mental issues locked in a school and forced to kill each other or themselves? Prime insanity and mindbreaking ensues, with some really cool characters coming out of the franchise. Despite the premise, theres a pretty hopeful message.

7. Oshi no Ko

TW: stalking, teen pregnancy, exploitation of minors, suicide attempts, murder, terminal illness, age gap relationships, bullying, abortion, parasocial relationships, and... sigh... pseudo-incest is apparently in the manga as well

If you are into idol anime and expect your standard cinderella story about passionate girls and guys hitting it big... Oshi no Ko isn't the idol anime you're used to. This doesn't even follow the hit idol herself- rather, her two children who are reincarnated fans. They have to find their way in the exploitative and often dark showbiz world while trying to solve their mother's murder.

8. Bocchi the Rock!

TW: agoraphobia, alcohol abuse

I only watched this one recently, but it's already an all-time fav. It follows agoraphobic and severly socially anxious Hitori (aka Bocchi), and her newfound friends as they do their best to become a successful local band! They make odd friends along the way and Bocchi starts to try to recover and better herself, with often comedic failures along the way.

9. TUYU's interconnected songs

Okay so... ik the timing is bad but I meant to make this list ages ago and this was on it so... a lot of the TUYU songs and MVs are interconnected! Some specifically cover jirai kei and ryousangata otaku topics! My favorite songs and MVs are the ones involving my favorite characters, Anhiro and Anzu, who are heavily featured in the Under Mentality album.

I loved the anime, so I picked up the manga recently. I'm only a little ways in, but I want to complete it since the anime didn't cover it all! You don't even know the plot until the final seconds of the first episode, where it's revealed that Yuki is the only member of the squad who doesn't realize what's going on- she's not in school for class, she's living there for shelter in a zombie apocalypse. Oh, and she sees dead people. She has moments of clarity, and the story often follows other characters' memories and POVs, so you still get to have a clear look into what happened and what's going on for real.

toonimal aka ezra orena is a tumblr user who also ran a website for "big three" paraphiles (pedo/necro/zoo), including those who are pro-contact and including minors. this obviously led to a bunch of pedophiles sexually engaging with minors and exchanging abuse material.

ezra was already known for being pro-contact in some spaces and had been called out for it. ezra was thus banned on aethy, which is an 18+ proship website, i assume due to the following rules:

there was mild pushback to the fact that aethy also banned ezra's callout, not just ezra; however, this was due to the fact that spreading a callout about ezra's website would also spread links to a pro-csa space:

despite the aethy ban, ezra wasn't called out in the mainstream (to my knowledge) until more recently, when a super huge google doc rolled in with evidence of the abusive behaviors on his website

also despite this, when this doc dropped, some people targeted and doxxed a completely unrelated moderator of aethy for something they had no involvement in.

the google doc. is bad. i understand the good intentions, but it includes irrelevant fantasy as evidence and, more importantly, does not censor victim names. it also does exactly what aethy mods were seeking to avoid by providing a platform for this site, rather than sending it to the proper authorities and letting it get handled properly. statement from an aethy mod:

however, the doc includes lots of evidence for toonimal and his site's users being abusers. its Bad. really really really bad.

because many people did not know toonimal was advocating for abuse prior to the doc being shared, toonimal had some popular posts on tumblr.

one of these posts is a post about "killing the cop in your head" re: accusing people of being degenerate or dangerous over fetishes and kinks that are taboo. while the post might seem weird with the context that ezra is a pedophile, this post was incredibly popular among people who didn't realize. it was just a solid discourse post at the time:

in fact, i checked, and i reblogged this post back in the summer, before i knew that toonimal was advocating for pedophilic contact. this post was not part of some "niche pedophile community." this post currently has 19,000+ notes. it does not mention contact with children. it mentions kink and shipping. drastically different from the content on ezra's site!

and even if you did elect to check ezra's about page before posting, ezra isn't an "open" pedophile. there's a reason his site was secret.

neither of these things mention paraphilias. you have to click on a separate link in the about page to see the tags/warnings that mention lolicon (which is fiction anyway) or illegal paraphilias. even after clicking on those, ezra still upheld on tumblr at the time that he was anti-contact.

the above screenshot is from 3 months ago. now, ezra posts things in the pro-contact vein, but again: he was denying this three months ago. his post was popular even back six months ago. in fact, ezra denied he was pro-contact a week ago, but when evidence popped up he just resorted to insults.

now that we've established that ezra being a pedo was not common knowledge and his post was literally just a popular kink discourse post...

tumblr user txttletale aka healed, who is a trans woman, reblogged it with the following comment months ago:

and later makes a post expressing her opinion on games like stardew valley having somewhat problematic elements to them. in response...

random tumblr cis gay man gets mad and says that healed aka txttletale "markets incest shipping and loliporn as an inherent part of queer sexuality" because she reblogged the toonimal post with 19k notes MONTHS before ezra was called out

reread the toonimal post. there is no mention of loliporn.

even if there was, thats a drawing. its fiction. just like the farming simulator is fiction. who cares

roadhogsbigbelly then doubles down and says that, well, healed might not have mentioned loli, but ezra would support loli. the problem is, again, ezra was not even entirely open about this. why on earth would healed be endorsing that solely by reblogging ezra's post?

then, people start to accuse healed of being in a secret pedophile community with ezra and other popular trans women on tumblr, like predstrogen and maia crimew

a bunch of them notably being from a group of bloggers who love to harass people over stupid shit, be exclusionists, and make conspiracy theories about "closet pedos" and generally just talk shit about anyone they deem below them - especially tgirl bloggers

most of this harassment operates on the idea that healed was mutuals with ezra or aware of ezra's behavior, meanwhile she reblogged ezra's post 3 reblogs down a chain and literally didn't directly interact with ezra at all. neither of them followed each other

people also brought up healed's past controversies, most of which have been apologized for or were simply not fucking relevant

even if healed did follow ezra, the insistence that loli aka drawings is what is sooo sketchy about ezra rather than the fact that he had a site full of ADULTS INTERACTING SEXUALLY WITH REAL MINORS is absolutely fucking batshit

also healed has posted stuff against loli and proship fic/art before. healed literally doesn't approve of that stuff fucking anyway which is imo hypocritical to the kink thing but still proves the accusations against her are false

having paraphilic feelings isnt a crime, but involving real children is. genuinely fuck all of the adults on ezra's site

aethy and its moderators experienced targeted harassment over shit they were uninvolved with. this included doxxing and harassing their families. this is especially cruel since they seem to be one of the few sources of common sense in the situation

the targeting of healed, avery, maia, and others: completely just transmisogyny. this shit is insane and nobody should be held to the batshit standards they were held to. please pay attention to this shit and dont let it happen again. don't let stupid discourse un-person a trans woman for something she literally didn't do.

Star Trek - Jim and Spock share a mental link that was created by accident and allowed intermittent empathy/mild telepathy of both a conscious and subconscious nature. this is evidenced in several episodes, but a particular moment on the bridge in The Immunity Syndrome is my solid basis for this. (I promise I'll keep writing "Always Will"... Star Trek is the fandom of my heart. I'll come back to it. I promise.)

Kim Possible - (angst alert! tw: infant death. tw: child death. tw: miscarriage. i hope i did that right...) Drakken and Shego had twins that didn't survive. The event brought them closer together and made them re-think their priorities... This is post-canon when they were dealing with the good vs. evil issues already, and the only thing they knew for sure was they wanted to be together. This event also led them to realize...they want to be parents. (Yes, my fic "Rekindling" is in fact, headcanon...)

Soul Eater - I haven't posted a fic about this one yet so I'm leery to share it... But a story is already in the works. And I'll be very, very vague... Stein's "experiments" on Spirit were extremely mild and rapidly turned into something else... Something Stein was doing to cover for Spirit, to protect him from something else going on in his life... And that's where I'm leaving that because I want it to be a surprise when I post the story! But a couple people I've told might guess this, heheh. (No title for this story yet... Titles are my worst enemy.)

your satisfaction has to come from responding to your own creative drive.... i suppose that's where the advice starts. make sure your motives are in the right place. and... hey, if the creativity is sated? allow yourself to rest! as i'm writing this (it's being queued so, not coming out near the same day it was asked), my writing well is a bit dry. you might want to create, and feel bad you're not doing so... but it's okay to rest! if your mind just wants to daydream but the hands don't want to write the story or draw the piece right then... just let yourself be. allow yourself that space. i think you'll find creativity is better for it in the long run.

'but i'm worried my followers will be disappointed?' now, there you're not creating for you again... if they're friends, they'll still be there. if they're just...a random number in your stats, then again... your motives aren't in the right place. i'm a firm believer in...don't base your self-worth on internet stats. it's just not something i can get onboard with. your value is not determined by number of views, comments, reblogs, etc...

ahhhh hmmm.... i haven't done any immediate clicks in awhile. i'd say if something squicks me pretty suddenly. but blessedly, with AO3 tagging, i can often avoid accidentally running into those things.

wanna be clear though, writing is in art itself and sometimes... well, i'll give an example. i read a fic not too long ago with a twist ending. it is the sort of thing i would not have read had i known. but, had they tagged for the twist it would have ruined the story. so i was not bothered by the lack. i personally would have done the same. am i haunted by what i read? yes. but storytelling is its own art and well...yeah. it's not like in picking up a physical book we're gonna get the tag warnings.

that was slightly off topic, uhhh... i think mostly just if one of my squicks shows up i'll click away. something that's not my thing. and depending on how good the fic is, i'll try to push past it. but if it keeps happening... like there was one long, long multi-chap where main char was kidnapped and tortured and my poor li'l happy-ending heart didn't realize until i was fairly deep in that the whole point of the fic was torture that just got worse and worse... closed that one, never finished.

oh okay but one thing... if a story is VERY out of character, then i'm not interested. like.... the whole point in fanfic is to see more of the character so if it doesn't read like them, then... yeah. that's actually probably the most immediate thing for me. i can handle poor grammar and formatting and english-second-language writers and new writers who are learning the craft... all of that is fine. long as the character is in character, i'm pretty game to read most things.

People who say that asexual isn’t an umbrella term make me mad tbh

For context, I’m asexual, specifically aegosexual. For me, I use this term because I do experience sexual attraction. However, I have a sort of detachment of self from these feelings. Most of my attraction stems from fantasy. I like the idea of sexual intimacy, and I am aroused by it. However, when I am in a situation where I am “intercoursing”, I either get bored, I generally don’t like it, or I cry. Sex isn’t really a fun thing for me either way, and I don’t enjoy it. I only enjoy the idea of sexual intimacy through fantasy. I often don’t even imagine myself in these fantasies, I project myself onto other fictional characters or I create a self insert of some kind (maybe because I’m a system but idk lol) Regardless, I experience sexual attraction somewhat, but only with fantasy.

Point being, asexual is an umbrella term, and I don’t like people trying to tell me that my experience and feelings towards sexual attraction isn’t real or valid. Im living proof that it’s an umbrella term. Plus, there’s other people out there who fit inside this term who all share different experiences with their attraction or lack there of. Not all asexuals are sex repulsed, while some are. Some asexual people enjoy the feeling of sex while others do not. We’re all different and we all have our own experiences that have led us to use the asexual label. It’s so stupid that people think that asexual must mean that all asexual people lack any kind of feeling or desire towards sex. “Lack of attraction” can be expressed in different levels and in different ways. It doesn’t mean that all asexual people feel repulsed and/or absolutely no attraction. “Lacking” doesn’t mean “none”.

If a building is lacking windows, it could mean that it has absolutly no window, or it could mean that there are simply to few windows. Where is the building lacking window? Maybe the building lacks windows on the second floor, but not the first. Maybe there’s only windows on one side, but not the others. Now apply that to asexual people.

Guilt and fear of punishment washed over Samson -- he confessed to his wife, who unveiled she had long known of his activities. He had fooled others; she would never be so blind. To avoid detection, and to break away from his family, Samson and Evelyn swept their belongings into a moving van, and hurried away. His father and mother died within a month of each other years after he left -- his brother still believes it is the malevolence of their younger son, that caused their passing.

Helltown appeared to Samson as the perfect manifestation of his dreams -- a sleepy, unassuming stretch of land, perfect to disappear in. It promised him the quiet normalcy he craved, along with a lucrative position within the church. Samson was closer to the heart of the church than the preacher; it is he who holds the purse strings in a vice grip. But Helltown was not what it seemed -- he will wonder late in the night if the town had transformed itself upon his arrival, a false image planted to lure him in. Because he'll never leave, and it is not the disarray of his past that arrests him -- he too is bound to the darkness locked within the church walls, and Samson cannot help but long for answers. As of late, Samson has stared within his church, and felt all is not right -- the rot that gnaws at the fabric of Helltown has begun to permeate the church's walls. He sees new faces mixed amongst the old, and feels a cold sweat take him; neither, appear called to these hallowed walls for a pure purpose.

Parishioners -- Whether they're regulars at church, they went as kids and never came back, or they're the type that only show up on holidays! Samson is a regular church attendee in tandem with his job, and he's very into his image as a church going, family man; he'll offer his own sermons to anyone who will listen, or try and entice the youth back to church. He's likely a polarising figure -- either you think he's probably earnest but corny and slightly annoying, or that there's no way anyone is as perfect as they claim. The power that he holds is well known, and cannot be universally liked or agreed upon as a good thing. And in turn, perhaps they are there for the wrong reasons; Samson suspects them, but has no name for their transgressions.

Older helltown residents - Samson's been in Helltown for twenty four years, and he'd rather act like he's born and raised here than talk about his past in Florida. Friends, enemies, neighbours, acquaintances, tennis friends etc; maybe some he's opened up to about parts of his past, or people who have known him for so l

Babysitters, dog-walkers, favorite shop employees -- people that Samson sees regularly, whether it be he's paying for a service or visiting their place of work. Samson likes to project the air of a man who has money (even if its origin is far from holy) who is a striving, upstanding member of the community. 

True-crime and sleuthers -- Samson is very vehement that Helltown is a normal place, and everyone trying to find dark or seedy goings on, merely pollute the community with a sinister energy -- despite his reservations regarding what the parishioners are up to, he's entirely at odds with anyone trying to investigate what's going on.

I really don't want to be mean but can you guys please stop sending me asks or tagging me in stuff to do with this situation? I'm sorry , I know it sounds pathetic because I am an adult but I'm also a survivor of CSA and SA and this whole mess is taking a heavy toll on me because of my chronic illness.

I'm sorry, I know a lot of people look up to this account as the big brother of the Ares cabin, and I love all of you /p and I want to be there for you as an older figure in the community, but I just can't deal with this topic. It's close to home, it freaks me out and is just.

Stress makes my symptoms worse, and that's not anyone else's fault. It's my responsibility to manage but there's a reason I haven't made a personal statement on the situation. A friend made one on our group account. We don't want to be involved, I'm sorry. I'm very frail and as pathetic as it sounds, something like this can really weaken my immune system and take me out for days. Again, nobodies fault, I'm not blaming anyone for my health issues, I'm just trying to offer an explanation as to why I really really cannot be involved. I don't want to go into details but right now I'm very much on bed rest, and I'd really not like to exacerbate my situation. I'm sorry. Really am.

I've recieved negative asks sending me death threats as my friend did include the @ for this blog in their statement on our group account. I dont want to be involved personally. I understand most of you are kids, and are upset because of how your friend feels, and that's natural. But you cannot be sending death threats or telling people to kill themselves. That's a legitimate cyber crime. If they did go through with it, it's highly likley their phone would be investigated and you could face severe legal trouble. And you'd have been responsible for the loss of a human life. Anon protects you from community identification. It does not protect you from being discovered by law enforcement or the tumblr moderation team.

Please know that even if you decide you don’t jive with the comics or a show or the games (though I do recommend the games by rocksteady, the first one in particular is a great love letter to Batman) you are still a fan and more than welcome here. I do want to warn that if you explore the comics, two characters have experienced SA. One is Bruce, which resulted in Damian but that has been retconned I believe. The other which is more…blatant, is Dick/Nightwing. It’s a really shitty thing written by a writer most people do not care for and is handled terribly (not acknowledged for what it was), and most of fandom ignores it. I just want to warn you in case you dig into comics or see the discourse pop up. There was also an attempt with Tim but it did not happen. I don’t have the issue numbers on hand but I’m sure there’s a list somewhere online.
