TW somewhat gory medical story:

Saw a truck/car accident off the side of the highway once, clearly fresh since there was only one cop on site so far. I pulled over to see if I could help. Convertible car had ended up sliding under a semi at perfect neck height. Body in drivers seat, head riding back seat.

I could hear fire rescue coming up behind me so I left the hyperventilating green cop and got my car out of the way. Not my circus that day.

But this is why shotgun suicides can be particularly traumatic for responders. It does not meet the requirements to let EMS not give life saving aid, but every single cpr thrust just pushes more brain dribbling out the top.

"That wouldn't be fatal!" It would."They couldn't survive that!" They could.

If my time as an EMT and instructor taught me anything it is that the body is both impossibly resilient and impossibly fragile, and almost any traumatic injury you can think of could either be fine or fatal depending on the whims of the universe.

So use that crap as liberally as you want to serve whatever narrative you're writing.
