I am actually really interested and invested in that Barty Jr./Harry thing you mentioned before. I've actually always been so drawn to them, and I would love to hear more on that.

[CW: ADULT X MINOR/STUDENT-TEACHER, ABSOLUTELY AWFUL PROBLEMATIC EVILNESS ON THE SIDE OF BCJ] It’s less of ship for me and more of an angst contrivance, Barty-as-Moody is one of Harry’s liked teachers and we know he’s seen under his clothes, Barty is generally a little weirdo and while he is evil and a blood supremacist he does genuinely seem to be good at teaching.

I do think canon Barty does actually have like the smallest bit of genuine affection for some of his students, including Harry, it’s just mostly buried underneath all his awfulness.

If we had them both be teenagers at the same, I feel Harry would be kind to Barty because he views him as a bit nerdy and off putting but ultimately harmless at first and they’re on the same Quidditch team, but then they start to get closer and Barty starts letting his true self shine through. Harry tells him to knock it off and Barty’s like “I know you wish you could do dark magic like me, you’re just being a wuss.”

And Harry never abandons him but they’re at each other’s throats. Accidentally became interlinked and Harry hates it.

They make out and fuck when they’re drunk and never talk about it much when they’re sober. They both want a father so badly and Barty is very open about this but Harry always denies it, so he’s always daddy.

If we’re doing student-teacher I see a scenario where Barty decides to help Harry practice spells to get through the third task instead of letting Ron & Hermione do it, Barty is a natural born pervert and Harry values his praise as Moody even more after he said Harry would make a good auror, so Barty tries to kiss Harry at one of their little sessions and Harry is just so confused but doesn’t think he wants it to stop so he doesn’t tell anyone(r.i.p). He thinks of Harry as like a dog who’s about to be put down and therefore should be indulged for the time being, and teaches him several dark curses he knows he probably shouldn’t as Harry could use them against LV but he just can’t help himself!!!!

He brings Harry off to the side before the third task for a quickie sadly.

Harry is convinced Barty-as-Moody actually likes likes him and is absolutely flummoxed when he takes him back to the castle after the third task and he’s acting so weird. He is horrified when he finds out who his D.A.D.A teacher actually is, and is cursing himself for ever trusting him like that(r.i.p). He vows to never speak of it again because he feels so humiliated.

Shes a sophomore at hatchetfield high, she doesn't have a lot of friends. She won't say it but she hopes to make friends on here. Her home life isn't ideal to say the least.

Her home life is fucked up, her parents are in a broken marriage they don't love each other. They didn't even intend to have a kid, so basically Willow was a drunken mistake. This caused her parents to resent her for basically ruining their lives when they were teens (especially her mother). This inturn caused them to be awful parents to her, they neglected her for most of her childhood and didn't give her basic needs like love or even food.

It continued like this until one night when she was 13, I have a post on my main blog explaining this event because it's a major turning point in Willows life so if you want to know more about what led up to that night then you can go find it on my blog. Her dad tried to SA willow when she was trying to sleep but Willow overpowered him and was able to run away. The only reason she was able to do this was that she had power from Wiggly (who saw the dire situation and like the feminist I hc him to be, he in a way saved her.)

She ran out of the house and ran deep into the Witchwood away from her father that was shouting and trying to catch up with her (he didn't get far as he lost her). And as her mother didnt do anything to stop her dad or help Willow, that was the day she became an orphan in a way, her parents were dead to her. As she's running she trips on the black book, she then spends the whole night reading it in the forest and she accidentally summons Wiggly. Having read about him she knew his nature and she begged to just work for him, no deal involved Willow just wanted purpose after her worldview was shattered. He accepts and feels an unusual sense of protection towards her and he wanted to shield and help her from the true horrors of the world.

She eventually forms a father daughter sort of relationship with Wiggly, as Wiggly grows more and more fond of her and Willow grows more comfortable around him, they eventually become a father daughter relationship (even though it's not biological). With her calling him dad and him being the only person she trusted with all her heart, she liked him more than life at that point.

What are your overall thoughts on Katherine Pierce? I don’t think I’ve ever seen you talk about her.

My personal opinion: Everyone always says she did terrible things in the her 500 years and make it seem like she had a choice in the matter, when she really didn’t. She didn’t have a choice in general regarding the direction her life went, she would be hunted by Klaus.

I think majority of the things we see her do is justifiable or can be explained: it was for survival. If the protagonists gang doing immoral things for survival is justified, then why can’t Katherine? Speaking of protagonists, I absolutely despise the fact that she’s the villain when characters like Damon or Klaus do so much worse.

I don't talk about Katherine Pierce very often because I'm just not a fan.

I'm going to preface this by saying this is just my opinion and it doesn't mean liking Katherine is wrong. People tend to get offended when I don't like their favorite characters or ships, but it's just my opinion.

This is going to need some TW: SA/Rape

For me, I have a few deal breakers for characters and one of them is SA and rape. I know there is a lot of debate in the fandom about Katherine and Damon, but I've said it before, what Katherine did to Stefan is rape. She took away his autonomy and continued to have sex with him multiple times. No wonder when he turned into a vampire he hated her. I could never just move past this. I get a lot of what she does is for survival, but that was not. I can justify a lot of behavior because I think people can be pushed into situations where they do terrible things, but what Katherine did to Stefan has no justifiable reason.

But I can put that aside and talk about her as an overall character.

To me, Katherine had more of a choice in her life than a lot of the fandom gives her credit for. What the Mikaelsons and her own family did to Katherine when she was a teenager was beyond awful, but it doesn't blanket justify the next 500 years. Just like what Mikael did to Klaus doesn't justify the next 1000 years.

I would be more likely to feel more sympathy for Katherine if we saw any kind of evidence that she was living in fear for 500 years of Klaus. But we just don't see that. During the time she is supposed to be running for her life, we see the Mikaelsons hanging out in New Orleans never once thinking about her. Now we can insert some headcanons and say that the Mikaelsons had their network of vampires out there hunting Katherine, but we don't see that from Katherine's perspective either.

When she meets the Salvators she is just hanging out with them. I won't even get into her problematic relationship with Emily right now. But the Katherine we meet in the 1800s is acting like life is all just a game and inserts herself between brothers just for fun. The show just needed to spend more time showing her running or even just showing that Klaus even remembered she existed. To me, Katherine could have just settled down somewhere and stopped causing havoc and been safe. Much like Klaus from Mikael.

Katherine is the only person to know that she had a child and there was a possibility of more dopplegangers. Seeing as how she treated Elena, I'm honestly surprised she didn't seek out her doppleganger sooner to turn her over to Klaus. I personally headcanon that's why she ended up in MF. She was tracking down her ancestor to trade them for her own freedom and got distracted by the brothers.

I do think there is a lot of misogyny in the fandom and Katherine does face a bit of it. Her and Damon are essentially the same character and I have definitely seen her criticized for things that Damon is applauded for. But at the same time, I think Elena gets it a lot worse because of Katherine. Katherine is not a girls girl and is constantly making misogynistic comments. She criticizes Elena for the exact same thing she is envious of Elena. And it's not like Elena had some blessed life that Katherine missed out on. Elena also lost her entire family. I do think Elena had more of a support system, but that is in spite of Katherine's best efforts. Like Elijah points out, Elena was "fated to live the same life that [Katherine] endured" and a lot of that was because of Katherine.

To me, I think they needed to let the villains be the villains and that was something I appreciated with Katherine. Because, yes, she had a tragic past, but no, she didn't need to do a lot of what she did. The fact that half her motivations throughout the show was just trying to get Stefan back or ruin Elena's life made her more of a villain than a protagonist. What she did to Stefan, Elena, Mason, Caroline, etc. makes her a villain. I once saw someone say she only kills when necessary, but the scene at the party where she so easily kills a teenager to prove a point to Stefan makes me disagree. Much like all of the villains, she kills without reason or care. I wish they had gone more into her dark past to really cement her as a villain, but I actually like that they never redeem her.

I love a good villain and even more so when it's a woman. But, like I said, Katherine just went to far with Stefan and I can't look past it. I also didn't find her Stefan obsession that compelling. Or her hatred of Elena. I liked the season when she grows close to Nadia and when she did try and help Stefan with his PTSD, but other than that, I didn't find her to be a compelling character. Although, I absolutely love her entrance into the show. It will always be iconic.

Some people on Twitter are so...possessive and gate-keeping over canon characters, it is honestly scary to me. I am a multishipper, I love and respect selfship, OC X Canon and Canon X Canon. I love certain characters too (I haven't done any self-shipping myself before) but not to the point where I block others because they do ships of my favorite character with other canons, OCs or themselves?

To me, the more ships the character has, the better! Let them get all the love the deserve. The character is for everyone to be loved and doesn't belong to you.

Disaster ship - "Femme Fatale and the Apex" (Jennifer x Sonya "Sonnie")

Here's some disaster queers! [Also note that I did not get any faceclaims not draw at least a face for Sonya so I went for Jennifer's canon appearance and the closest thing I could find that would work as a reference to Sonya's appearance... which is the Kraang Leader's exosuit from the Rise of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: The Movie] Anyway on with the show:

This Disaster Ship is called "Femme Fatale and the Apex", between Dicko's personal assassin/trophy blonde Jennifer (no last name) and god-complexed angry beastie lesbian Sonya who came from the question "what would have happened if Sonnie had been taken by an inter-dimensional insane scientific creature called Malvolio after the traumatic incident that destroyed her original body but left her mind alive and was enslaved to do 17 death battles for combat data?"

These two are in a tense situationship, both are women (though Sonya doesn't mind being called "it" and has fully embraced what was meant to be a dehumanizing statement), Jennifer is 25 while Sonya is 30, Jennifer is bisexual while Sonya is a lesbian. Why are these two are so problematic? Well Jennifer is a remorseless killer who has murdered plenty of people under Dicko's command, while Sonya went on a murder spree as soon as she was released from Malvolio's programming. Also she developed a god-complex during her confinement under Malvolio (a worship/praise kink as well).

How compatible are they truly? 53%. They are both horrible and kinky enough that they're perfect for each other but so horrible that they are awful for one another so its a 50/50 chance besides the fact that the only people they can stand is each other. How compatible do they personally think they are? Well Jennifer believes she really isn't that compatible with Sonya, considering the human/beastie has a very high opinion of herself and looks down on everyone but she's also a slick looking beastie with an almost monster-god like appearance and that awakens something in Jennifer that she thought she grew out of. Sonya on the other hand is just delusional and thinks their perfect for each other except for the fact Jennifer makes her take baths and doesn't get bloody enough. And when Jennifer has to keep appearances up where its like she's the boss, she doesn't miss an opportunity to boss around Sonya which both gets her off and annoys her.

The biggest complaints they have with each other? Jennifer's top two is that Sonya calls her weak (and not in a kinky way nor the degrading kink she wants) and the fact that Sonya is an absolute bitch to clean blood off because the stains just stick to the metal, so she has to spend Dicko's savings to deep clean the beastie. Sonya's complaints about Jennifer lay on two issues; she worked with a pimp (who she didn't even kill and take power from) and Jennifer spends more time looking pretty than she does getting bloody.

Both are extremely jealous of one another (for varying reasons) and get jealous when they pay more attention to someone else more than they do the other. Both are very manipulative and pull out anything they can use to keep the other. Both are extremely dangerous, though Sonya more due to the advantage of being a beastie. Though Jennifer is more prone to wandering eyes (from Sonya's perspective, Jennifer is looking for other options, but in actuality, Jennifer is just contrasting everyone from Sonya, like "tch, they don't compare to the elegance of Sonya") and is also a criminal to boot. There's also the fact that Jennifer can be rather oblivious (as in clueless about the dangers of the criminal underworld would do after finding out a woman was in power of a powerful operation like Dicko's). Sonya can be pretty absent, and is very self-absorbed.

Jennifer hasn't had any experience with love so she's quite confused when her feelings grow beyond the sexual fantasies she achieved to make reality and she's absolutely seething about it. Sonya is a mixed bag, on one hand she knows that she's in a unhealthy sense of love and thrilled about it (delusional). Sonya's reasonable side is also seething about it too, due to it being Jennifer, and she's absolutely confused on that. Jennifer ups her seductive charm to keep Sonya wrapped around her finger, though can be irritating at the wrong times, while Sonya is a mix of stoic, sappy and charming at the same time. Jennifer and Sonya cannot stop thinking about one another the moment they "met" through Malvolio. The difference is the fact Sonya hogs Jennifer's attention at any given moment while Jennifer would rather try to ignore the love epiphany. Jennifer is like a revolving door; on good days, she sees Sonya as an ally and would never think to hurt her (not just because of the disadvantage it gives her) but there are days where Jennifer is so pissed off at Sonya that she'd definitely try and intentionally sabotage their efforts out of spite and sell Sonya if she could. Sonya on the other hand, despite what she may say, is too obsessed with the fact Jennifer doesn't mind her new appearance and rather finds it attractive to the point of sleeping with her to even think of hurting Jennifer.

What was their first meeting like? Ugly. Very ugly. Not only was Sonya under voiceless enslavement with Malvolio using her to perform in the beastie death matches (with the possibility of dying) and Jennifer was the trophy girl of the pimp hosting the arena who she tried to signal for help but kept getting ignored. By the time she was released, the programming that kept her under Malvolio's control also restricted her ability to feel pain so... Sonya was not in a happy mood, and pretty much slaughtered everyone except Jennifer, Wes and Ivrina (Malvolio and Denise managed to escape through his secret tunnel/portal). Jennifer acts indifferent but she's as obsessed with Sonya as Sonya is with her. It's all about the power they hold which attracts them. They know they're relationship is more situational than well-thought out, but Sonya probably thinks their already married by the fact she's "claimed" Jennifer through bites and marks. Sonya can't really communicate a lot, but Jennifer doesn't generally overshare more than she just shares more than Sonya does. Both would hide a body with one another; hell, Jennifer hid a slaughterfest for Sonya. They're both in it to make the other worse and get more power.

Why are they together despite it all? Both are in it for common interest revenge against Malvolio, Denise and the wealthy men who look down on them. Plus Jennifer is an apologetic monsterfucker and Sonya thinks Jennifer's hot. Redeeming qualities both appreciate about one another? Jennifer appreciates Sonya's cleverness and intelligence, especially when helping her navigate being a king (or rather, queen) pin. She also admires Sonya's noble revenge against Malvolio, intending to prevent him from ruining anyone else's life permanently, which Jennifer can't help but be shocked by the fact Sonya would want to do it for those reasons. Sonya on other hand appreciates the fact Jennifer has some moral lines despite being a otherwise remorseless killer, and also that despite being vain at times, Jennifer is not lazy.

Do they get along? Sonya thinks they do, Jennifer still has problems with Sonya though. Do they have fun? Oh hell yeah they do. Do they like each other? Despite the problems and unhealthiness of their relationship, they do like each other for the person hidden underneath all the resentment and immoral attitudes they present.

Have you seen the newest tweet about the next Helluva Boss episode? Looks like Striker's coming back, and once again Stolas is gonna be a focus in the episode. I'm assuming it'll be a Stolitz wankfest again with Striker being jealous. Something tells me they'll have blown a lot of budget on getting Norman Reedus again, so they may kill Striker off.

I'm a former supporter of the show (before I knew about all the horrible shit that happened behind the scenes), who slowly began to lose interest during Season 1, before leaving the fandom in Season 2.

I'm worried this episode will be more of the same. Thoughts?

I personally just feel that Striker's entire existence is a Stolitz wank fest. Even from the beginning, they made him have the brain of a rock (he tried to shoot someone with the door unlocked, in a populated house- WHAT THE FUCK?! 😂🤣) just as an excuse to have that angst fest with Blitz to make us feel like it's somehow "wrong" for Blitz to be with Stolas. When Stolas is awful?! He's the literal monarchy that's being a jerk to their species? Is this series seriously trying to suggest that the audience should side with the monarchy who owns slaves in the show just because the writers find them to be hot? What kind of message is that?!

okay i've been going back and skimming through the translation of the odyssey on project gutenberg, since i hadn't fully read it before, and now i'm even more upset about the sirens.

i've heard the story of odysseus and the sirens before - the whole bit about his crew tying him to the mast of his ship so he could hear them. because epic is so drastically different i just assumed i had the wrong hero. but no.

with that in mind, the decision to not address the crew butchering the sirens feels even worse. so that's now two potential places to address sexual assault against men that have been softened, and two places where violence against women, including sexual assault, has been added in and focused on. all to show how violent men are. there's three, actually, if we count circe and her nymphs. the implication that she turns men into pigs because of what past men have done to them gives her a motivation not present in the odyssey, but it does come from further sexual assault against women.

this isn't to say that sexual assault against women isn't present in the odyssey. however, it's perpetrated by heroes and villains alike as they claim women as prizes in battle.

this is exactly the sort of circumstance feminist critique asks us to question the inclusion of violence against women, particularly sexual violence. can we really call it "realistic" to add in sexual assault simply to characterize male characters? particularly given that actual cases of sexual assault in the source material are ignored.

epic does not want to have a discussion about sexual assault, particularly as it exists in the odyssey. it doesn't engage with the cases present in the source material, and in two of the three places it's added in, it is presented from the perspective of the aggressors, not the victims.

frankly, if a discussion about sexual assault against women is something the creator wanted to engage in, the odyssey was not the text to use. it's certainly possible, if you want to focus on the unnamed women confined to the background of the text. but the female characters present in the odyssey have stories that aren't defined by sexual assault, and there are so many other greek myths you can turn to. persephone and demeter. helen. even medusa. there's no shortage of violence against women in antiquity. why go out of your way to add more? and why do it by taking focus from one of the few places sexual assault against men is presented?

i'm not upset by the removal of sexual assault in the story. it's not something the musical wants to engage with, and presenting characters as both heroes and perpetrators of sexual assault is definitely messy and problematic to modern audiences. but the addition of violence against women absolutely should be questioned, and i wish the fandom at large realized this.

(my hypothesis would be that the tiktok fandom skews younger, as this is the kind of conversation i remember starting to see a few years after i joined tumblr. it generally necessitates a certain amount of fandom maturity - maturity that certainly isn't tied to age, mind you. some people ignore that development and turn to fandoms that don't encourage critique. the most likely culprit though is that the algorithm promotes popular opinions, and the only unpopular opinions that can get views are ones that can get engagement - and it's easier to tear apart a poor argument than admit to changing your opinion due to a well-crafted one.)

(also, now that i'm skimming the actual odyssey: there's a whole bit in the underworld where "the wives and daughters of all the most famous men" show up to tell odysseus their stories. obviously they're focused around men, and there's plenty of stuff in the underworld about how awful women are. but if you want to give women a voice, that seems like a pretty good place to do it.)

ho boy, let's see.

there's definitely a general feminist critique to be had about how few women are in the musical and how small their parts are. obviously i realize the musical primarily follows the leading man and his male crew because that's just how the odyssey works. but it's still a conversation worth having, especially since there are ways to make the existing female characters better. the decision to base this on the odyssey is still a choice.

i don't have much to say about most of the monsters/goddesses. aeolus and scylla are fine. circe is okay, and she actually gets a few songs. personally i think god games should just be cut entirely; it's just athena justifying everything odysseus has done. hera is fine. i don't like how athena stops talking to aphrodite once ares shows up; the line that convinces her is "tell your lover that a broken heart can mend," which is directed at ares.

not mentioning anticlea until she's already dead means her death doesn't really have the weight it should. he's desperate to get back to penelope and telemachus, so it just feels like he forgot about his mom, which makes that tragedy feel a little unearned. he should be just as concerned to get back to her as he is the other two, which means he should mention her whenever he sings about them in the first act. then it would actually matter more when we find out she's dead.

the rest is under a read more because i wrote a lot about athena, and because i need to give a trigger warning for sexual assault for my other points.

athena is clearly the strongest female character and is positioned to be a foil to odysseus. that being said, i didn't really follow her shift in philosophy - going back to look at the lyrics it's because she blames herself for teaching him to be cruel? the goodbye at the start is weird - she's mad at him for not being ruthless, but really the problem is that he's arrogant - which is still something she could chastise him for. idk. either way i don't think her evolution was explored well at all - she basically just changes her mind because she misses him, not because she has actually seen anything to suggest mercy is good. and it's weird that she's only at the beginning, in the wisdom saga, and at the very end. her stuff isn't terrible, but it needs to be better distributed throughout the musical so there can be an evolution. give her one more song towards the end of act one, break up the wisdom saga so her story feels like it's part of the musical instead of a weird distraction in the middle, and actually show us why she starts to think mercy is good. as is her character is too reliant on odysseus in a way that really hurts that the story. bringing up telemachus earlier and exploring that relationship, or penelope and ithica, gives you a chance for athena to see something that helps her change her mind. (i have more to say about her story but that's just about fixing the plot. i think i've made my point here.

okay trigger warning for real.

calypso is really weirdly done. she has one song where she's pressuring him to be with her, and then a song where she refuses to apologize for "unrequited love" or something. odysseus is upset with her and struggling with ptsd in the first song, and then says he loves her in the second. it feels like the musical wants you to have an overall favorable impression of her. there's a lot of discussion about whether or not this is a case of sexual assault in the fandom posts i've seen, but i don't think that's something the musical is discussing. if anything, it takes the stance that it isn't, at least in this version, and that calypso is just some sad girl who wants to be loved. that being said, i've seen some pretty disgusting hatred directed towards calypso in those posts - not clear if it's for the original version, this one, or if there's any difference. either way, the musical needs to decide if calypso is bad/problematic or if she's good/misunderstood, and both of her songs need rewriting. (there's also something to be said about her being the only visibly black female character, but i don't know much about the actual actors for the musical so i'll leave this be for now. but that did stick out to me while watching the animatics.)

i have very mixed opinions about the sirens. the imagery of a group of men standing over and brutalizing a group of women as they beg for their lives was pretty heavy. i don't hate it - it very much sells the idea that the men have become monsters. however, it really bothers me that it basically just. happens. and then we move on. odysseus agonizes over so many choices, but this one seems like it was easy for him, and he doesn't suffer any guilt over it. no one challenges it. so overall it just comes off as a reason to brutalize women, which leaves a sour taste in my mouth. i wish we'd at least get pushback from some of the crew so there's at least some conversation about how maybe this isn't 100% justified. instead, the only mention of the sirens is in god games, where... apollo gives a half-hearted argument about how the sirens sing catchy songs. the other gods at least have a point. and with all of this, athena's retort just feels very victim-blame-y to me. overall, i think there's a way to keep the stuff with the sirens in - but there needs to be more delicacy in how the whole thing is handled.

and finally, penelope. she's probably the worst-written female character in the musical. she exists to 1) be odysseus's motivation/prize, and 2) assure odysseus that he's actually a good person and sure, every terrible thing he did was totally fine, no issue. her first song, which isn't until the last saga, just 1) tells us she's sad, and 2) gives us odyssey plot. the challenge doesn't really do anything to the musical's plot, so you might as well cut it. and her only other song is the finale, where she assures odysseus she loves him and never doubted him and she has no qualms over anything he did because she's a Strong Woman so she still loves him unconditionally. also the bit about the bed is confusing. it's clearly only in there because of the odyssey, and it makes no sense for the musical. penelope has no character in this musical.

(i acknowledge this is a bit hypocritical, but i would actually cut the actual penelope out of the musical. the mentions and cameos of odysseus's idea of her, and the bit with the sirens, can stay, but actual penelope never shows up. i would lean into the idea of her being his prize in a way that leaves you a little unsettled. but also i think odysseus should be the bad guy in the end, so.)

and finally, i hate the decision to introduce the threat of the suitors gang-raping penelope. we already know the suitors aren't great. they're demanding penelope marry one of them. they beat up the kid. there's no need to evoke such a graphic image; i felt sick the first time i heard it, and i don't even have experience with/trauma related to sexual assault. the only point of this song is to justify odysseus slaughtering the suitors, because actually they're all terrible, horrible people. which again just weakens the idea that odyssseus is some kind of monster, because this very intentionally makes him look like a hero. between the decision to downplay the idea of circe or calypso sexually assaulting odysseus (both interpretations popular in what fandom posts i have seen) alongside the brutal violence perpetrated against the sirens and the intentional addition of a whole song about gang-raping penelope, the musical has an uncomfortable focus on violence against women. it's gratuitous and serves no purpose.

So let me get this straight. I was taught by Tiktok that proshipping, or problematic shipping, is bad and disgusting because "you shouldn't ship/romantize/fetishize minor × adult, beastially, etc." That proshippers are terrible people and deserve to get off the internet and into jail.

And then there's Tumblr, who's full of proshippers and people who support proshipping.

Does the law not care about what fiction we write? Why is one website against proshipping but another is for it? I decided I'm still anti, and I'll explain why.

"We seperate fiction from reality!" Yes, but have you consider what the fiction saids about YOU? If you're not careful, people will see you as an awful human being. If you are purposely romantizing, glorifying, and/or fetishizing things like abuse, incest, pedophilia, zoophilia, and even RAPE, of course people won't like you for it, especially those with truamas of those topics. You gotta be VERY careful with these kind of topics, you hear me.

Now, I do know there are different reasons for being a proshipping. If you're doing it out of truama, I understand. I'd still suggest healthier coping mechanisms, but I understand. If you do it because you're legitimately a incest supporter, pedophile, zoophilie, etc, then I can't really forgive it. If you write these dark topics for awareness or for specific plot reasons, I can let it slide, especially if you do a good job at doing so.

For example, I had a best friend who forced me to write whatever she wanted for our fanfiction series. There are things that one would consider problematic or simply uncomfortable, such as:

Horrible depiction of DID, TWICE (And my friend wanted more DID)

Horrible depiction of OCD that only appeared in one episode, I'm not kidding.

Yandere and murder in a "kid-friendly" fanfiction series, the yandere in which was a DID alter.

Semi-detailed pregnancy, twice.

A human (Akira Kenjou from Kirakira Precure A La Mode) x a talking hamster fairy with a human form (Harriham Harry from Hugtto Precure). I had friends tell me this is zoophilia.

I panicked about my reputation and still do to this day, especially the DID and the human x hamster. I didn't want to write these topics, but my best friend did.

Another time I met a DeviantART user who wrote erotic fanfiction of Pikwikpack, some of which had rape. They complained that pregnancy art, vore art, and inflation art of Pikwikpak was pedophilia, which was ironic to say the least.

TLDR: I'm still anti proshipping. Ships and fiction can say a lot about someone, you gotta be careful with your problematic fiction. I can never be a proshipper because I very much fear for my reputation.

tagging this as incest n shit because i'm not going into this lightly. we all know i love problematic ships. this isn't crazy, this is GENIUS. this has SO MUCH awful toxic potential.

the first thing which makes these 3 an AWFUL combination is the fact that these guys are the 3 characters in DL who i think have BPD. they're all different sub-types. i wrote a post here about why i think subaru has BPD (borderline personality disorder) again i want to make it clear that having BPD does not make somebody inherently abusive. i have BPD too, been diagnosed for 2 years, in therapy for 2 and half years, and medicated heavily for the past year. so again, i know what i'm talking about. if you want to read more about BPD, check out that post first.

and like i said before, people with undiagnosed/untreated BPD can do some really shitty things. it's a trauma response and an explanation for some behaviours, but it's not an excuse.

there's four sub-types of BPD (i'm petulant) and these are what i think subaru, kou and laito have:

Subaru - self-destructive (intense feelings of self-loathing and bitterness, turn to self-destructive behaviours)

Kou - impulsive (difficulty with impulse control, high risk of suicide attempts - kou is the character with the biggest history of suicide attempts)

Laito - petulant (strong need to manipulate or control others, experience dissatisfaction and possessiveness in relationships)

it doesn't take a professional to look through that combination and think, God, without any kind of help or intervention, that'd be FUCKED.

obviously laito isn't a stranger to incest and since subaru was also born out of incest, i feel like there'd be a sense of self-fulfilling prophecy combined with a desire to be loved. if being in a toxic relationship makes him feel like shit then he'd probably take this as being deserved.

i think this twisted fucked up polyam relationship would probably start with subaru and kou being together. i really wouldn't put it past kou to cheat on subaru with laito, especially if laito set his sights on kou and decided he wanted him.

once subaru finds out about kou cheating, i think kou could probably manipulate him into staying, but then somehow laito comes in. at first, i'd say subaru and laito would compete for kou.

since laito has this very strong belief that if you're happy in love, you haven't been hurt enough, i can imagine him going in to hurt subaru, simply out of jealousy that subaru wasn't hurt the way he was by cordelia. i'd say that's where the incest comes in.

i would not be surprised at all if the first instances of sex between laito and subaru was non-consensual. when kou found out he'd definitely be mad but laito is very good at manipulation and i can imagine him coaxing kou into thinking the 3 of them should all be in a relationship.

from that point, i think it'd be a clusterfuck of manipulation, possessiveness and jealousy. if two of them hook up, the other is mad and jealous. this fic has a chapter where laito gets subaru off then kou comes along like "you're mind back off laito". furthermore, kou has a history of suicide attempts both as a kid and in canon (dark fate, dark 10/epilogue) and i DEFINITELY think he'd use that against them.

laito is the most controlling and would definitely love-bomb then pull away. subaru would probably be the one in the most awkward position but he's bold when he needs to be and i can imagine him doing self-destructive shit when the fear of abandonment kicks in.

with that said...

all three of them CAN be incredibly loyal and loving. when they're not in fights or jealous battles competing for each other's attention, i think they'd have fun doing things together. i can 10000% see them getting drunk or doing drugs together. god, don't let me go off on a tangent and talk about them being drug addicts too. not to mention, when they're in a loving mood, i think the threesomes would be WILD, in a good way.

so, yeah, i think this a good ship IF you like problematic stuff.

That is a complex question to be asking me, but the answer is pretty simple: The Great. It's altogether a more strongly-written, strongly-acted show.

Both shows do come with TWs, imo; rape is either depicted outright or mentioned in both of them, they're pretty murder-heavy. The difference is that almost everything dark in The Great is dealt with... emotionally, but with a ton of dark, satirical humor. While The Borgias has its fair share of dark humor, for all intents and purposes the show is a straightforward historical drama whereas The Great is an anti-historical comedy (I'd arguably dramedy, but the humor is heavy). The Borgias is VERY inaccurate, but it follows.... to a light extent... an idea of the Borgia family's history, and it presents itself as a retelling of their story, whereas The Great literally has a disclaimer at the beginning of every episode about its inaccuracy, and its lack of intention to be accurate.

Both of the shows, for me, lived and died on their main ships. But I would say that The Great generally has stronger plot threads going on in the background, a more interesting array of supporting characters, whereas The Borgias.... Honestly didn't. I was ENTHRALLED by The Borgias while it was on, because I was waiting for that ship to happen. But then it did in the final season and after all was said and done I was left disappointed by the overall skeleton of the show.

And to be clear, both of these ships the shows live and die by are problematic lol. Catherine and Peter on The Great are basically Tom and Jerrying it, trying to kill one another while also falling in love. Cesare and Lucrezia on The Borgias are........ full blooded siblings. But ya know, I watched that show live, and 90% of the fandom was into it. Waiting to watch those people with the same DNA kiss kept the lights on for three seasons. So. To each their own.

Main pros for The Borgias:

--really good main ship, incredibly chemistry.... if you're okay with the incest angle

--individually, Francois Arnaud and Holliday Grainger are very entertaining as "sexy bad man who only becomes worse with every season" and "innocent virgin who grows into a vamp and is like I Can Make Him Worse"

--David Oakes does his fabulous "troubled brother of a more famous historical figure" schtick and it is EXCELLENT

--beautiful costumes, beautiful sets, Much Italy (but really it was Budapest)

--family drama. I don't really care super much for a lot of Jeremy Irons's performance on this show; to me he got waaaaaay too much focus when his character was kind of only important in season 1. However, he does flip a table when trying to tackle David Oakes, his son, at one point, and it is hilarious

Main pros for The Great:

--genuinely EXCELLENT writing, Tony McNamara has been on fire for the past few years and it shows

--Nicholas Hoult and Elle Fanning acting their former child star asses off and having enough chemistry to make you forget that he tries to drown her in the first episode

--a good supporting cast! Aunt Elizabeth is my favorite, but we have Archie, the bisexual shrooms fiend who runs the church; the scheming Swedes; Marial in the first season; Grigor!!!!; Gillian Anderson showing up to be a milf in season 2; Jason Isaacs showing up to be a ~~~~ghost dilf~~~~~ in season 2. Some people enjoy Orlo.

--great costumes also

--due to the fact that this show truly doesn't give a fuck, there is a feeling of excitement and unpredictability

Both of these shows feature Sebastian de Souza as Aw Man, That Poor Guy Who Really Shouldn't Be In The Middle of This Love Triangle, Shucks He Is In A Bad Spot. I will say that this is MUCH funnier on The Borgias, as in this case the other two people in the triangle are again, FULL BLOODED SIBLINGS, and he's like oh this is an easy win for me, I'M NOT HER BROTHER and they're like lol who knows

So. Watch both I say, but watch them knowing that The Great is a lot better.

Hey I just read the tags you left on that last reblog and it broke my heart. I'm so sorry people are being nasty to you over TDC. I just wanted to say I've always loved your TDC art, especially your OkLach stuff and your interpretation of urSan.

Thank you so much! You have no idea how much that means to me, you're one of my favorite artists, and you really encourage me to try and be better with my own art. You're really inspiring both artistically and as a person. I wish more people in this fandom were like you. I am gonna talk a little bit about stuff for context, but also because explaining things helps me calm down. In SkekAth's story, miscarriage is an element in it, but only because it's an issue that's incredibly important and personal to me. It's a tragedy, and I treat it as such in universe. That incident has lasting scars, and effects certain parts of Ath's life when he's very little. But it's also an explanation as to why there aren't any other skeklings around because it's incredibly hard for a skeksis to even have offspring at all. That's actually a canon thing. I also tag any and everything that has to do with that subject, so if people are uncomfortable with that topic, they don't have to see that darker part of things. Also, Ironic that they accuse me of being insensitive while sending me an ask about freaking EPOXY RESIN. These were all sent very quickly in-between each other so it's likely that they were the same person. It's just disgusting and ironic that I'm being called insensitive when they have the gall to say something so awful. Also those assumptions about me solely based on me being openly Christian were incredibly hurtful and stereotypical. You can't just say that to someone it's just awful. Also, Straight pride?
