In Poland, the holiday Andrzejki is celebrated on the night of the 29th through 30 November. The main ceremony involved pouring hot wax from a candle through the hole in a key into cold water.

The shape formed by the wax from a candle is supposed to represent something that will happen to you in the upcoming year.

So for the "fortune-telling" prompt I decided to put (Linnetagain's) "The Season's" main family in a Polish situation, since it taught me that fish and chips is a dish of Polish origin, apparently. Also, it wormed "con te partiro" into my brain.
