Reborn

He always looked sinfully carnal, but tonight he was especially so. He knew you were watching him, if the amused glint he directed your way was anything to go by. That’s why he wasn’t surprised when you led him outside the gala and into a private restroom.

Before you could blink, he spun you around, hands gripped your waist as he pinned you against the wall with his hips. He nuzzled into your neck, chuckling.

“What’s gotten you all riled up, amore mio?”

When you responded by smashing your lips against his, clutching his face desperately, his lips tugged up into a smirk. You gasped when you felt him bite into your lower lip, and when you pulled away, his eyes were dark. 

“I think I have an idea,” he purred. “Why don’t I take care of you?”

Skull

You were…surprised by how well Skull cleaned up, considering his default outfit consisted of his motorcycle suit. Even so, it took you awhile of gawking at him in the entrance to your shared bedroom before he became flustered.

“W-What?” He rubbed his arm. “Do I look bad? I knew I should’ve taken out my lip piercing, dammit, your parents wouldn’t like that…” he mumbled, turning to walk away.

He was interrputed by your arms wrapping around his middle, holding him in place. He called out your name, flustered, before you answered. 

“You look amazing.” He shivered at the lust weighing down your words, how riled up you suddenly sounded. “So sexy, in fact, I might have to cancel plans with them….” 

Tsuna

Even though he was the boss of a mafia family, he still struggled with things like putting on his tie. You smiled as you offered your help and he sheepishly agreed.

“I don’t know what I’d do without you,” he admitted, as you looped his tie around into a knot.

You rolled your eyes, smiling. “Well,” you said, stepping back to survey your work, and discreetly, the rest of him. Tsuna was always a cutie, but he had matured into such a… fine specimen. Especially in that suit. “I think you look… capable without me. Very capable. Boss.” You winked.

His eyes darkened, his hand shooting out to grasp your wrist before spinning you towards him. You landed in his arms with a squeak, his breath warm against your face, his gaze molten. 

“Boss, huh. I wonder what other names you’ll be calling me tonight.”

Xanxus

If he wasn’t so sexy in that suit, you would say he was an arrogant asshole. As it was, he was still both.

Some lackey from a small family had been chatting you up a little too friendly at the gala, and once Xanxus took notice, you can damn well be sure he told that trash to get a fucking life. But not before groping your ass in front of him, before declaring you were his woman.

And now you were in the bathroom, your legs wrapped around his frame, while he held you propped against the wall. His hand groped your breast roughy.

“Stupid. Why the hell are you entertaining loser trash?” He grunted. The sleeves of his jacket were shoved down, revealing his white button up.

You knew you shouldn’t incite him even further, but at the same… the sex was so much hotter when he was. 

“Maybe I just wanted to see you when riled up.”

No one came into the bathroom that night, deterred by the sounds the two of you made.

Yamamoto

Takeshi was trying on the suit the Vongola tailor had made for him, and he asked for your opinion. You were surprised when you walked into the dressing room, and he wasn’t anywhere to be seen.

“Takeshi?” You called out, before nearly screaming when you felt a hand wrap around your eyes. 

“Shh, it’s me.” You would recognize that playful voice anywhere.

“God, you scared me,” you said, swatting his hand away, before turning to face him…. Oh. Before ogling the way his slacks clung to his thighs, the way his shoulders looked so broad in that suit.

Yamamato, ever-observant, noticed your stare. You missed the wicked grin that stretched his face.

“Like what you see?” His voice was husky, and sent shivers down your spine.

You were already locking the door. “Very much so.”

True Hate's Kiss -Version 2 - Xanxus and Tsuna

"...No."

A collective groan erupts from the crowd of spectators. They have been arguing for nearly an hour already, and they are running out of time.

"No?! What do you mean 'no'?" Desperation has sharpened the edges of Gokudera's words to a fine point. It's clear he's on the verge of physically lashing out. Yamamoto and Ryohei subtly flank him in anticipation if they need to hold him back.

Xanxus, on the other hand, in a display of massive indifference, lounges in his chair and does not even crack open an eyelid in response to the distress swelling in the room. He also doesn't bother to elaborate on his answer. His second in command does this for him. Sort of.

"It means the opposite of 'yes', brat. Obviously." Squalo uncrosses his arms and draws an imaginary line in the air with his sword that Gokudera is not to cross, literally or figuratively. But while Squalo would defend Xanxus to the death from everyone else, the set of his shoulders and scowl on his face belies the fact that he is seriously contemplating using his sword to jab some sense into his stupid, stubborn boss.

"Boss. Boss! Let me do this for you! I will kiss the Usurper so you don't have to sully your lips!"

This heartfelt declaration from the Varia Lightening elicits more groans and a few "Shut up, Levi" 's, but there's not much heat in the words. They've had some variation of this argument a few times already, and no one feels like having it again.

Gokudera kneels next to the bed and gently brushes some hair from Tsuna's sleeping face. He casts his gaze over the rest of Tsuna's guardians. "Isn't there something else we can do?"

Yamamoto rubs the back of his neck. "Well, the sorceress was pretty clear. Tsuna has to be kissed by someone who hates him to break the spell."

"Lots of people have tried to kill the Tenth! There has to be more options!"

"Sure, but..." "But what?!"

Yamamoto shrugs. "Everybody likes him now. Except for, well, you know." Everyone in the room very carefully avoids looking at Xanxus.

"If we don't find a solution soon," says Gokudera, his voice barely above a whisper, "we'll not only lose the Tenth, but the whole flame system is going to start shutting down."

"I know." Yamamoto catches Squalo's eye. Squalo sighs heavily. Time for a Hail Mary.

"VOI Shitty Boss, you ever gonna do this or are your damn lips broken?"

Xanxus finally opens his eyes in a heated glare. When he speaks, his voice is low and dangerous. "The hell did you say, Trash?"

"I'm loud. You heard me."

"You think I can't do this?" Xanxus stands and stalks over to Tsuna's bed.

"I think you're delaying." Squalo makes an impatient face. "Let's get this show on the road! We've all got better things to do than sit here and watch Sawada drool in his sleep!"

"The Tenth does not drool!"

Squalo waves a dismissive hand at Gokudera, but his eyes never leave Xanxus. He smirks. "The sooner you do this, the sooner you can hold it over his stupid head that he owes you his life."

A slow grin spreads over Xanxus's face. "Yeah." He none too gently lifts Tsuna's chin, leans forward, and quickly checks to make sure there really is no drool.

In that pause, a small voice speaks out. It's Fran.

"You can use my chapstick first, if you are embarrassed by your dry lips," he offers.

There is an almighty scuffle as Varia and Vongola work together to tackle the young mist to the ground lest he undoes all the progress they've made.

Xanxus's eyebrow twitches as he watches the scene. He swears to God that when he is done saving the world, he's killing them all.

So does Vongola Family mostly speak Italian or Sicilian language? I saw your posts about Xanxus surpressing his Sicilian and trying to mostly speak Italian, but could you please elaborate more?

I believe, Reborn will push Tsuna&co to learn both languages (just because he can), but which one will be first in line for learning?

Oooh what a great question!!

I think its time to deeper in the dialect argument.

In big cities not everyone speaks dialect. The lower you go on the social ladder and the older you are the more likely you are to speak dialect. The lower in the social ladder you go, the more likely it is that people dont know how to speak italian well.

But, tendencially, everyone speaks italian, and italian is the primary language of people. Many young people from "respectable neighbourhoods" dont grow up listening to dialect, and cannot really speak it. What happens is that words or phrases in dialect get incorporated into the current italian speech, sometimes even being italianised in the process. What remains the most is just the accent.

So, who consistently speaks sicilian in the Vongola? Probably only the lower goons that do stupid shit and dont get to interact with important people.

The ninth and his generation can most likely speak dialect too, because they come from a time when it was much more common to speak and hear, but italian is their language. They too sometimes use phrases or words in sicilian, when they fit into the discussion. When interacting with people from lower classes they also may just switch to dialect.

Xanxus, on the other hand, was born into a "non respectable neighbourhood". He was born in a place where dialect was the only language, and only then learned italian. Growing up he does not try to speak italian, he just knows it. And oh boy if he learned fast. It did not actually require that much effort, he was a kid and everyone around him spoke italian at that point. And he went to a school where everyone spoke italian too, and he studied the grammar and everything else too. He did realise from the beginning how important it was to learn italian, but it was not a hard thing to do.

One thing i also believe, though, is that he subconciously suppressed most of his accent. It's not like he speaks without any accent, everyone can recognise that hes from the south. But not many could pin point from where. He most likely tried to get rid of his accent because it was too heavy and think, something that would give his origin away. Funnily enough, people surrounding him have a thicker accent than he does, the ninth too. Though i like to believe that sometimes, when hes drunk the right amount or when he says specific words, he just says things with the thickest accent ever. Cause certain words can only be said in that way.

One prime example of "born in a respectable neighbourhood" i can think of is Squalo (whom i hc as palermitan too!): he cannot sustain one conversation in dialect, he does not even understand it well if its too fast or emphasized (like, if xanxus actually speaks it). But he does have the accent and he does use words, especially those that convey concepts that are not present in italian, or that do so faster and more directly. He would never say "Com'è nuvoloso oggi" (Today is very cloudy) when he can just say "Che cielo accupuso". And even then, che cielo accupuso is not real dialect. It is italianised dialect. Real dialect would be something like "chi cielu accupusu" (but even then, i dont really know! Im just like squalo!)

Now for the last part of your ask: I dont think tsuna and the others would directly learn dialect. reborn, at least to me, is not sicilian, so he couldnt even begin teaching it, not really. and socially it is not that important, not in "high society", so there is no actual need to learn it. He would probably try to teach italian to at least tsuna, but considering that such a thing was not present in the manga (of course it wasnt, i dont even blame amano), i cannot see any urgency in doing so. And Tsuna being as disinterested he is in everything mafia (most realistic thing of the manga, good for him), he would probably not be so enthusiastic in learning italian either! Even less sicilian!! So learning would take quite some time.

To me its more probable that others in the family learn italian faster, for reasons that are completely separated from tsuna and reborn:

Yamamoto would probably learn it through Squalo, who wouldnt even do many lessons but just. Speak it some just because, or even just on the phone with someone in varia villa. Hes a fast learner, after all!

Chrome has Mukuro, Chikusa and Ken to teach her! With their dreadful milanese accent (jk my norherner friends!). Mukuro would be the only one actively teaching her though, i believe.

Kyoko and Haru would probably start learning it on their own, once they understood that Italy is gonna become part of their lives somehow. They are just happy to learn new things, especially if they come in handy!

Lambo is just italian, so he has nothing to learn. Though he is so little... maybe he actually forgets it some. But its very easy to him to just pick it up again.

Ryohei and Hibari i dont really see making any effort in learning, but of course over time they end up doing so. Maybe Hibari has... a certain someone from italy... helping him in a way or another. who knows.

as for Gokudera, that's for another time!
