« So I've got a message to Donald Trump and all his negativity and his whining: Stop shit-talking America. »
— Pennsylvania Gov. Josh Shapiro on MSNBC telling convicted felon Donald Trump to STFU with his incessant America bashing.
youtube
Gov. Shapiro reminded viewers that presidents appoint Supreme Court justices. Helping to elect Trump by voting for some turd party candidate with no possibility of winning paves the way for more Alitos, Thomases, and Kavanaughs on the Court who will be there for decades rubber-stamping the actions of Republican authoritarians.
Because of social media and then the pandemic, real world political volunteerism has fallen off in the past 15 or so years. It's necessary to re-engage people in real life. Potential voters are more likely to be influenced by people they know than by TV or online ads. Put your personal charm to good use this year in the service of democracy.

"We cannot allow this to be happening," Biden said in televised remarks. "The idea that there's violence in America like this is just unheard of."
...The idea that there's gun violence in America is unheard of?

Either way, this country has a history of both.

I think there needs to be a reckoning about how so many white (passing) American secular/nonpracticing antiZionist Jews can say "Not in my name, Israel doesn't speak for us!" and then think they can speak for Israel. How so many of them can have a limited familial connection to Israel, have such a disdain for Israelis, Israeli culture and society, and Israel as a concept, and then have the gall to act like their opinions matter?
I see their attitudes be described as fear, but to me it strikes me as more than just fear. A lot of them, I suspect, have incorporated antiZionism as a fundamental part of their Jewish identity. It's not just a disagreement, they're not just saving face. Take away the Goyim and talk to them privately and they still believe what they believe, and express it in the same way. They hate Israeli Jews.
And Israel is only going to become less Ashkenazi (aka less "white") as time marches forward. The bad faith hysterical Israel bashing and condescension is only going to look more and more like Orientalism, and frankly, racism.
I think it's very possible that calling something antisemitic can't just be a catchall term when this chicken comes home to roost. I think if there aren't already, there will be distinct forms of antisemitism, some that only Diaspora Jews face and some that only Israeli Jews face. And if this is true or will end up being true, it's pretty important that we not speak over each other's experiences. To do that we have to recognize these experiences and respect them. Do some Israeli Jews disrespect the Diaspora experience? Yes, from what I've seen. Is it nearly as vitriolic and is it growing nearly as quickly as the disrespect for the Israeli experience among antiZionist American Jews? Not even close.
All this divisive language to say: sometimes when Israelis say "so and so is antisemitic!" in the context of antiZionism, they're talking about themselves, their experiences, the stakes for them, and not Americans. So maybe we should all learn to stay in our lanes sometimes.
A lot of Israeli Jews disrespect, or at least are unable to grasp, diaspora existence, particularly when it comes to Americans. I can't even count the number of times I read Israelis say "Why are you American Jews so upset about Trump? Don't you see how good he's been for Israel?" Which is the worst damn argument a person could possibly use - it feeds into both left-wing and right-wing antisemitism, while ignoring that American Jews live HERE and are at risk from Trump's fascist cult and general lawlessness. And it is bad FOR EVERYBODY to have "pro-Israel" become the position of stroke-babbling grotesque racist criminals, and also for America to be too focused on anarchic decomposition and Yugoslav-style street warfare to be able to support Israel like it traditionally has.
And because turds of a feather flush together, Netanyahu wants ALAN DERSHOWITZ to be Israel's advocate if the ICJ case proceeds. I knew Netanyahu was a senile failure undermining all the strengths he had ever built for the country and this is just the shit cherry on top of the shit sundae. Alan Dershowitz is the ultimate stereotype of a Boomer who was kind of useful in the 1980s-90s and became awful and embarrassing now, Trump is surrounded by them (i.e. Rudy Giuliani). Your grandma in Florida remembers Alan Dershowitz for writing "Chutzpah" and being tough and quick-witted, and everybody under 40 knows Dershowitz as a Trump cultist and Epstein fuckbuddy. Big "Vladek Spiegelman can only compare his artist son to Walt Disney" energy. There are surely thousands of lawyers better-suited for the role, just off the top of my head I'd prefer Eugene Kontorovich and so should anyone who is more aware of the world as it actually is than how it was in 1994.
I say all that to parallel your original point, not to contradict it. Yes, the American Jews who performatively loathe Israel are by and large just an Extremely Online phenomenon of the most college-town bubble-protected, least observant, least affiliated, and least aware of non-Ashkenazim. It is not so hard for American Ashkenazim to stay protected from antisemitism as long as they totally unplug from their Jewish identity and any public-facing aspects of it. Can't be killed in a synagogue or JCC or kosher store if you never go in, head tap.

Hello Mysterious, I hope all is well and continues to improve with you.
You don’t need to post this ask,but I just wanted to express my thoughts on the expansion of the far right across the world, in relation to your last post about France and Macron.
1. Putin
2. Trump and GOP
3. Elon Musk
4. Nigel Farage
5. Marie Le Pen
6. Venezuela president Maduro Moros, plus Argentina’s president Milea.
7. Canadian conservatives now far right party.
8. Corporate right wing media in Europe, North America across the globe.
9. Money, laundered, bit coin or otherwise.
10. War in Ukraine.
All ten are connected, with the source being Putin. He’s been involved since 2015 when he stole Russia’s state money and the oligarchs money. He’s rumoured to be the richest man in the world at one point, and what better use of that resource than to fund a world in your vision of the future??? What we’re witnessing today are the dying throes of this evil heinous collaboration. Putin was very much behind the Conservative Brexit movement in Britain and behind Boris Johnson and Nigel Farage. Not to mention putting trump in the White House. Those were his successes. Putin desires the dissolution of the EU and NATO, a united Europe. Trump was espousing those wishes when he was ‘President’. Elon and Trump are his voice in the west. Maduro was pushing to start a war in South America for oil rich land in Guyana, and was blocked by Blair and Clinton recently. The Guyana president visited Britain when all diplomacy failed on his part. I’m originally from Guyana so I was paying attention to those moves.
Putin has been funding far right causes all across the world for at least a decade now. And he should be reaping the rewards of his hard work. But sadly, no.
The media companies don’t mind the marriage and getting in bed with Putin to consummate the unholy alliance. Money is money is money. Let it rain. They don’t even draw the line at promoting his blatant propaganda as they are doing right now in bashing Biden in the US. The US citizens have to wake up and make the right decision on November 5th.
Yes I believe you when you say Macron will have a fight on his hands in November. It will be directly as a result of the upcoming US elections and its results. All are connected. Sow doubt and fear in France, bring violence to the fore. See??? this could happen to you in the US, a civil war…. But what would you have Macron do?? Submit to the far right and plunge Europe into a proper World War 3? IMO Le Pen will always do as Putin asks, she is his wh*** he just has to say the word and she will obey. And proximity to Russia is also a factor in this. Again as in the US the media is heavily involved too. Right now they are flirting with WW3 in Ukraine. My guess is that war won’t end until after November 2024. A LOT of decisions will be made after November 5th. Just my opinion and observations. Thanks for listening.
I sincerely think that Macron and Lepen are ready to sell the French system for money. I'm serious this time. The complicity of journalists is beginning to be revealed. I can only see an explosion of the 5th republic.
I sincerely believe that the financial system wants the skin of the population. I'm not a conspiracy theorist, you know me.
There's too much of a weird connection. We talk again about links and traffic with Kadafi (Libya)
I need to sit down seriously and look at my cards

Lando has really ruined his first race win for me personally. Like when I saw that he won (didn’t watch the race live) I was actually so fucking happy and then he goes on to actively praise Trump. He did NOT need to say all that, even if there was some kind of contract agreement that he wasn’t allowed to bash Trump or something
Not that there should be such a contract anyways because if the FIA is so strict about the no-politics-stuff when it was about human rights (same love, Black Lives Matter), they should not allow a politician in an active candidate campaign to go around the circuit and give out hats to promote himself.
'Oh but Lando is British, he probably doesn’t know much about America politics' I’m sorry, but then he’s just ignorant, because even a few years ago, when I was a teen who did not speak English very well, I knew what Trump did, said and promoted because it was everywhere on the news. If he genuinely didn’t know much about Trump, then why would he be able praise him for what he did?
'What was he supposed to do? Bash him live?' Well, he certainly didn’t need to praise him as excessively as he did.
'Mclaren probably just did that to gain American fans, they do not actually support him' They gave him publicity. They praised him. That is support. They didn’t need to do that. They wouldn't have lost any fans by not doing it. But I feel like a lot of McLaren fans are young people, and they certainly aren't gaining their favour by pulling stuff like that. One of their most prominent drivers is Mexican for fucks sake. (Also I think there are very little Trump fans outside of America and instead a lot of people who view him critically, at least that’s the impression I have)
#long post#this makes me feel super disappointed#Sorry lando fans but he was already not my fave after what he said in regards to the Christian Horner thing :/#Also sorry for being such a killjoy about this but I feel like we should hold drivers and teams more accountable#miami gp 2024#f1#mclaren#My post#anti trump#anti norris#i guess

I'm sorry but I am actually so disgusted by some of the ideas going around on this fuckass site. You are all so convinced that there's some innate evil in America and so everyone here deserves to just be thrown to the wayside and submit to the very real Trump regime that will arise from this presidency. You are convinced our survival and rights are not worth the same as others.
While not the entire reason why Trump won, multiple states could have turned blue if 3rd party voters had voted blue. Because people on Tumblr and TikTok kept bashing everyone who realized that voting Harris was the only way out, a lot of the GenZ who weren't poisoned by republican propaganda decided that she was just as bad. Even now, I'm seeing donation posts on here saying that Americans are being "selfish" and "stupid" for being rightfully fucking horrified about what this could mean for the country they live in instead of sending money to another country.
People are legitimately saying that Americans should not focus on the election and our country at all. That Palestine and Palestinian lives are more important than Americans. They genuinely can not comprehend a world in which we can matter as much as people in other countries. Being American is some sort of unforgivable crime and I do not understand why. Hot take, but I think all people are equally deserving of life and freedom.
Americans have every. right. to be worried about themselves, their friends, their families. We do not know how insane this situation could get. I don't think you grasp the lengths that Trump, the red senate, red house, and Supreme Court he will stack in his favor will go to. Americans don't know right now if they will be able to leave the country if they need to, if they need to get vaccinated before Trump is inaugurated, if they need to buy contraception and Plan B... All of that takes money that people might not have to spend otherwise. So excuse me if I don't think Americans are being selfish for being scared right now. Excuse me if I don't think Americans are stupid for saving money for the very possible emergency situations that might arise from this.
No. You are not a bad person for trying to figure out what's going on in this fucked situation. You are not a bad person for not devoting all of your time to a situation in a different country when your country's democracy is being threatened, when a dystopian reality is falling over you. You are not a bad person for that. You are not evil for being American, you did not commit a crime by being born here. Your life and your rights are not less important because of your nationality. You can care about two situations at once.

« It doesn't make you a man to pick on trans or gay kids, it just makes you an asshole. »
— Sen. John Fetterman (D-PA) quoted on CNN’s “State of the Union.”. Via POLITICO. 🏳️🌈🏳️⚧️
The senator essentially described most of the MAGA Republican leadership these days including Weird Donald Trump and JD "Couchman" Vance.
Fetterman was Pennsylvania's lieutenant governor during the 2020 elections. He had something to to say about vote fraud.
(Dana) Bash also asked Fetterman, who was lieutenant governor of the state in 2020, if he had any concerns over Trump spreading claims of voter fraud in Pennsylvania like he did then, given the problems he caused by refusing to accept the election results in 2020. Fetterman laughed at the question: “It's the same shit that he played in 20 and it didn't go anywhere." "I'm not worried about it. It's the same thing that he tried in 2020,” Fetterman said. “We had an absolutely secure election. There was voter fraud in Pennsylvania and it was a handful of Republicans and they had their dead moms voting for Trump.”
If you haven't voted early, don't worry! If you're legally registered, grab your ID and head to your precinct polling place on Tuesday during voting hours. The best time to vote in person on Election Day is late morning; crowds are usually small and there's plenty of time to post a selfie in front of the polling place so you can remind others to vote.
ARE YOU READY TO VOTE? | Vote Save America
Only you and your friends can keep Trump from turning America into a writhing homophobic sludge pit.
Electing Kamala Harris is the only way to prevent an anti-LGBTQ hell in the United States. Letting Trump win provides a massive empowerment to assholes.

On the subject of what is foreseeable.
trump has been attacking wives and families for a long time. Just two examples: 2018, Jill McCabe, wife of Andrew McCabe, the former FBI deputy director trump fired days before his pension would have vested; 2023, Judge Merchan's wife and daughter. This article includes other examples:
It's part of trump's long-term persona that he doesn't have to follow any rules -- not the Constitution of the United States of America, and not the old school mafia prescript that families -- the women and children -- should not be harmed.
Currently, trump is again gagged from attacking Judge Engoran's law clerk. So now he's been attacking Engoran's wife. Of course, the attacks are malicious lies. That's a given. Judges with integrity are very careful to avoid any appearance of impropriety in using their position and power to their own benefit in any way. (Obviously, some judges, like Roberts, Gorsuch, Thomas, Alito, do not meet this standard.)
trump can assess correctly that none of the judges involved in his "legal challenges" (a favorite media euphemism, which likely enourages trump), will explicitly prohibit him from attacking themselves or their families.
Plenty of people opine that it is stupid for trump to antagonize the judges.
Plenty of people note that trump is well aware of his power as a stochastic terrorist, with "credible threats" swamping those he spotlights, or rather, targets:
And plenty of people recite that trump's favorite legal defense strategy is, "Delay, delay, delay." (One big delay would do.)
More decent people -- not just trump's base -- should be considering that trump would be very pleased if one of his followers physically attacks Judge Engoran's wife, or makes an actual attempt.
No matter how much integrity a judge has, no one could see any judge as impartial whose family member was literally attacked as a consequence of trump's manipulations.
trump would like a mistrial declared. It seems evident that he is, in his stochastic terrorist way, trying for one. It's even more disgusting that trump's base would declare this a win.

So given Jill Stein wants to talk smack to Kamala Harris and a certain vocal minority wants to bash her and say Third Party candidates are the most moral (not saying they all aren’t!), I figured why don’t we just go over the main three Third Party Candidates that everyone talks about, shall we?
First off we have Jill Stein and her connections to Putin have long since been exposed:
And people love to say how she’s Anti-Genocide but she not only supports Russia genociding Ukraine but wants to pull America out of NATO (you know the reason we even have ALLIES in the first place?!):
Next up is Cornel West who not only owes half a MILLION in back taxes and child support:
And he ALSO wants to pull us out of NATO and supports Isreal too:
And lastly is RFK Jr who is not only a prolific Anti-Vaxxer, but also declined to take down a Confederate Soldier, played with a DEAD ANIMAL BODY AT 60 and was exposed to LITERALLY be a way to help Trump get back in the office:
But yeah they’re the most moral candidates, right? 🥴
In this election; Third Party votes along with Non-Votes ARE in of effect votes for Trumps. Indirect ones but still so PLEASE vote Blue for everyone you all know and love.
Thank You 🙏

Asawin Suebsaeng and Andrew Perez at Rolling Stone:
Martha-Ann Alito, wife of Supreme Court Justice Samuel Alito, is incensed about seeing rainbow Pride flags during Pride Month, according to a new recording obtained by Rolling Stone. If it were up to her, she would be flying a Sacred Heart of Jesus flag in response. Or she might design her own flag, one sporting the Italian word for “shame.” In recent weeks, Martha-Ann Alito has been at the center of a national firestorm over two flags seen flying at their residences that have been associated with right-wing movements that question the legitimacy of the results of the 2020 election. Justice Alito has blamed his wife for flying those flags — and rebuffed calls from Democratic lawmakers to recuse himself from upcoming decisions in cases related to the Jan. 6 insurrection at the U.S. Capitol. Like her husband, Mrs. Alito is unbowed by the criticism and controversy — as she makes clear in comments recorded by liberal documentary filmmaker Lauren Windsor. Windsor, posing as a Christian conservative, spoke at length with Mrs. Alito at a dinner reception hosted by the Supreme Court Historical Society last week. Windsor attended the dinner as a dues-paying member and bought a ticket; a colleague joined her.
Rolling Stone first reported on Windsor’s conversation with Justice Alito on Monday. While several outlets have recently relayed stories of Martha-Ann’s tense interactions with neighbors — apparently in response to a sign opposing Donald Trump — Windsor’s recording presents the justice’s wife in her own words. The audio, provided exclusively to Rolling Stone, paints a picture of a right-wing ideologue that matches with the private reputation that Mrs. Alito has developed in the Republican Party and judicial social circuits in the D.C. area and beyond.
In the most jarring moment in the recording, Windsor attempts to pose the same prompt that she presented to Justice Alito, about how, in order to take America back to “a godly place,” conservatives need to win. She doesn’t complete the thought before Mrs. Alito starts complaining about having to see rainbow Pride flags in June, Pride month.
“You know what I want?” Mrs. Alito says. “I want a Sacred Heart of Jesus flag, because I have to look across the lagoon at the Pride flag for the next month.” Referencing her husband, Mrs. Alito says, “He’s like, ‘Oh, please don’t put up a flag.’ I said, ‘I won’t do it because I am deferring to you. But when you are free of this nonsense, I’m putting it up and I’m gonna send them a message every day, maybe every week, I’ll be changing the flags.’ They’ll be all kinds. I made a flag in my head. This is how I satisfy myself. I made a flag. It’s white and has yellow and orange flames around it. And in the middle is the word ‘vergogna.’ ‘Vergogna’ in Italian means shame — vergogna. V-E-R-G-O-G-N-A. Vergogna.” “Shame, shame, shame on you,” she adds. (Last year, the Supreme Court’s conservative supermajority ruled that businesses can discriminate against LGBTQ customers.) In other points of the conversation with Windsor, Martha-Ann Alito agrees there is no negotiating with the radical Left. She claims “the Femnazis believe that [Justice Alito] should control me,” adding: “So they’ll go to hell. He never controls me.”
[...] Mrs. Alito has for years harbored a disdain and bitterness towards others in the D.C. elite, whom she has bashed for supposedly excluding or shunning her and her husband, and for being too mean about them and their unabashedly conservative beliefs. Sources add that Mrs. Alito also has a longstanding reputation in influential GOP circles for ranting about politics, the culture wars, the Left, and the burning grudges she’s nursed since at least the George W. Bush era.
Rolling Stone’s report on Martha-Ann Alito’s unhinged temper tantrum about the LGBTQ+ Pride Flag and her whining about “woke liberals” is something to behold. She is just as much as a fanatical right-wing extremist as her husband Samuel is.

If Donald Trump returns to the White House, close allies want to dramatically change the government's interpretation of Civil Rights-era laws to focus on "anti-white racism" rather than discrimination against people of color.
Why it matters: Trump's Justice Department would push to eliminate or upend programs in government and corporate America that are designed to counter racism that has favored whites.
Targets would range from decades-old policies aimed at giving minorities economic opportunities, to more recent programs that began in response to the pandemic and the killing of George Floyd.
Trump campaign spokesperson Steven Cheung told Axios: "As President Trump has said, all staff, offices, and initiatives connected to Biden's un-American policy will be immediately terminated."
Driving the news: Longtime aides and allies preparing for a potential second Trump administration have been laying legal groundwork with a flurry of lawsuits and legal complaints — some of which have been successful.
A central vehicle for the effort has been America First Legal, founded by former Trump aide Stephen Miller, who has called the group conservatives' "long-awaited answer to the ACLU."
America First cited the Civil Rights Act of 1964 in February in a lawsuit against CBS and Paramount Global for what the group argued was discrimination against a white, straight man who was a writer for the show "Seal Team" in 2017.
In February, the group filed a civil rights complaint against the NFL over its "Rooney Rule."
The rule — named for Dan Rooney, late owner of the Pittsburgh Steelers — was instituted in 2003 and expanded in 2022. It requires NFL teams to interview at least two minority candidates for vacant general manager, head coach and coordinator positions.
American First argued that "given the limited time frame to hire executives and coaches after the season, this results in fewer opportunities for similarly situated, well-qualified candidates who are not minorities."
In 2021, Miller's group successfully sued to block the implementation of a $29 billion pandemic-era program for women- and minority-owned restaurants, saying it discriminated against white-owned businesses.
"This ruling is the first, but crucial, step towards ending government-sponsored racial discrimination," Miller said then.
Zoom in: Other Trump-aligned groups are preparing for a future Trump Justice Department to implement — or challenge — policies on a broader scale.
The Heritage Foundation's well-funded "Project 2025" envisions a second Trump administration ending what it calls "affirmative discrimination."
Part of the plan, written by former Trump Justice Department official Gene Hamilton, argues that "advancing the interests of certain segments of American society ... comes at the expense of other Americans — and in nearly all cases violates longstanding federal law."
Hamilton is America First Legal's general counsel.
Such groups have gained momentum with the Supreme Court's turn to the right — most notably its recent rejection of affirmative action in college admissions. The court ruled that programs designed to benefit people of color and address past injustices discriminate against white and Asian Americans.
In 2021, a federal judge blocked a $4 billion program to help Black farmers.
Earlier this month, another federal judge ruled that the Commerce Department's Minority Business Development Agency was discriminating against white people and that the program had to be open to everyone.
What they're saying: The Trump campaign directed Axios to the candidate's already stated positions bashing Biden's policies promoting equity.
"Every institution in America is under attack from this Marxist concept of 'equity,' " Trump said in 2023. "I will get this extremism out of the White House, out of the military, out of the Justice Department, and out of our government."
The Trump campaign's Steven Cheung added: "President Trump is committed to weeding out discriminatory programs and racist ideology across the federal government."
The NFL and Miller declined to comment. CBS didn't respond to a request for comment.
Between the lines: A CBS poll last November found that 58% of Trump voters believe that people of color were advantaged over white people — just 9% of Biden voters said the same.
Polls also show, however, that Trump is gaining support among Black and Latino voters.
Zoom out: Trump has portrayed himself as the victim of racism amid his legal troubles.
He repeatedly has said Black women prosecutors in Georgia and New York are "racist."
His political career really began in 2011 as the chief Birther-agitator, questioning Barack Obama's eligibility to be president.
When Trump jumped into the presidential race in 2015, he accused Mexico of dumping criminals and rapists into the U.S.
