Iseya Tabris: A headstrong and compassionate duelist/assassin rogue. Blunt, and sometimes vengeful, to those who show corruption, incompetence, or cross her; but endlessly kind to those in need. Absolutely did not want to get married, but always wore Nelaros's ring to honor his sacrifice and as a reminder (yes, I did full ass sacrifice a whole item spot for this in game the whole game). Iseya thought she would always sacrifice anything for her family and people, including her found family and her lover Alistair. She was prepared to die to stop the blight, and would have if not for Morrigan's offer.

*Hilariously I named my Warden years prior to the release of The Last Flight novel, but it really added a great element to her character.

Marian Hawke: A two-handy Reaver Purple Hawke who loves her family especially her sister. Even Gamlen grows on her after the death of her monther as she finally is worn down enough to see him better. Marian starts off as a confident sassy jokster who tries her best to make a new life, but as the years go on and she loses and lose and loses, her jokes become a coping mechanism. A mean streak also appears. By the end she's so tired and depressed that she doesn't even notice Anders pulling away from her. She spares and stands by him anyway because she needs this one thing to stay in her life.

*I just really like the default Hawke Names, I think they fit Hawke really well.

Shiren'ne Lavellen: A compassionate, kind, yet firm and decisive person, Shiren'ne prepared her whole life to become a worthy Keeper for her clan. Yet after she ends up with a new calling she takes it with stride, understanding her role in the world is now beyond just her people, but she always rebuffs being sent by Andraste and stands by her gods. Shiren'ne's favourite thing about the Inquisition was getting to know everyone and learn so much about other cultures and customs, and was always happy to share and demonstrate her Dalish culture (within reason). And although she had been so ready to be Keeper and she is Dalish to her core, after everything she knew she could never return and instead found a new quiet life with Cullen. Shiren'ne prefers slower ritual and practical magics and leans towards old nature and healing (I wish spirit healer had been a subclass), but is eager to learn about the fade, spirits, and the journey of ones soul after death, showing this by choosing vallaslin for Falon'Din.

*Took some research, but her name essentially means Voice of the Journey. She chose the name herself for her Valleslin ceremony as part of accepting and stepping into her role as First.

The only supreme is Fortiche - and a huge round of applause to them for the animation in S2. Every frame is like lickable visual cake icing and my eyeballs scream for more.

Also in keeping with food metaphors -

First 3 eps are good soup. Tasty soup. Well-presented soup.

However.

There are clumps in this soup that were absent in S1. The flow is not as seamless. Transitions feel jarring and the dialogue overall feels distinctly more flavorless. First time I watched S1, there were entire lines of dialogue I ended up memorizing, and that dialogue continues to pack a well-deserved punch 3 years later.

This time around, the scripts feel distinctly more... Marvel-esque?

High on quip calorie, low on substantive content.

I highly suspect there was a great deal of executive meddling behind the scenes, given corporate were not expecting Arcane to crunch the numbers it did + the scripts being incomplete. That, and the storyline kept getting passed between different writing departments, with different chefs trying to spice the broth. All of this might account for the relative lack of cohesion and its weird sense of hypercompression

I don't know if it'll improve or get worse. We're only at 3 eps, and the rest of the story's still waiting to be told, so I reserve any real criticism until then.

But overall, yeah.

It's still gourmet soup, but I feel as if the soup's been zapped in a microwave, ykwim?

Beyond that, the series is still a treat. Truly sumptuous soundtrack, and inspiring cinematography. The fight scenes legit made me catch my breath. You can feel the love poured into every frame.

Fuhrer Caitlyn gassing Zaun was not on my Bingo card, tho.

Nor was Jesus Viktor.

I am A-OK with the Arcane eating Heimerdinger. But gimme back Jayce and Ekko, pls. They got character arcs (and ship breakups) to suffer through </3

I also do not think the writers of the show were expecting world affairs to pivot quite the way they have - /gestures vaguely at RL - because leaving aside character motivations in a self-contained fictional setting, the critical literary lens and interpretive optics between Zaun and Piltover overall are gonna lead to some, hehehe, interesting fandom discourse.

On my part, I can't wait to see every single one of these beloved characters spiral to the depths, hit rock bottom, and hopefully climb back out as wiser human beings.

I also expect some of 'em to die.

Skz Husband Series: Hyunjin

He'd be loyal and devoted, i see him being really committed and truly all in, to the point where he goes above and beyond and sacrifices himself, or others for the sake of love. I also see there being huge potential for things growing really toxic just out of spite and stubbornness of not giving up on love.

He can get heartbroken really easily and i think marriage with him will have many heartbreaks along the way, mainly from his side and dealing with his "fragile" heart and turbulent emotions, him jumping to conclusions etc and mostly him hurting himself - will be something constant. What im also seeing tho is that as "fragile" as his heart might be or look at first glance he's actually really really tough, maybe even too much. And can take much "abuse" before he finally can't handle more. He doesn't let go easily and can and WILL endure a lot before he does.

He's a rich bitch and likes spending lavishly, he'll spoil his partner to no end, not only cuz of affection (of course that as well) but also because he likes to uphold a certain status/standard for himself and his partner has to match that so i see him spending quite the buck on his s/o, but also on himself and on lavish stuff and luxury altogether. Spending and luxury's gonna be a big theme in their married life.

He might get starved very easily tho, for attention, for confirmation, for security, i think he'll be constantly needing some sort of validation and confirmation because he naturally seems like a very devoted, die together type of vibe and i think in general in his relationships, when he loves, he always loves harder and i think he has gotten pretty paranoid when it comes to that so in the marriage he'll have those phases every once in a while where he feels gloomy and almost in a victim mentality, keeping himself in a state of mind and false beliefs that don't really equal his reality. So emotional labor on his partners side will be needed quite often, a readiness for that and a talent innit as well. I feel like his partner will have to have a eep understanding of psychology or just good intuition and people knowledge, to know well whats going on inside of him and be able to do and say all the right things, the right way at the right time to actually be able to calm him down and take him out of that spiral - cuz otherwise the outcome could be the absolute opposite and blow up in their face.

I see marriage with him would have two kinda contradicting sides. One light and one dark. And i think Hyunjin will definitely be the leading role. He's gonna be the hand and the voice of the relationship. His feelings, his moods will lead the way. And his partner will just have to follow. I don't think they have any power to steer in another direction. Hyunjin doesn't either. He has such a powerful inner world that i don't think he himself can control it all that well. So they're both kinda left at the mercy of his own...depths(?)

The rest of the reading isn't very reality focused, like talking about how he would be as a husband but rather just repeating the same energy over and over again, despite me drawing quite a few cards...so i think the takeaway from that is that having him as a husband will be very luxurious and really elevate ur standard of life, but it would also be very tricky and emotionally draining - tho the reward after is really really worth it as he is a deeply devoted guy that loves very hard and is ready to do everything for love, doesn't give up easily and you can count on him and know he'll always be there and love and accept u the way you are with all ur imperfections and flaws. He might even love you strongly for them sometimes depending on what kind of imperfections we're talking about. Once he accepts and loves you he does! Although doubts, fears etc will constantly creep up - u have to have the gist to deal with them and resolve them for him.

Ok so thriller bark was meh and kinda draggy. The whole arc of the invisible lion dude peeking at nami in the shower and then trying to SA/abduct her over and over again gave me SO MUCH ick ew.

I mean obviously it was meant to introduce Brook and Bartholomew Kuma (Bible holding demon istg he scares the fuck out of me) so i watched it all the way through. The foshfoshfosh and haraharaharahara laughs of that zombie princess Perona and dr. ogback were annoying as hell 😭😭 i wanted to smack them so bad. It had its funny moments tho. Perona flooring everyone with the negativity ghosts and not being able to even nudge Usopp was hilarious. "I'm always negative! 😡😡😡" I feel ya bro. And sanji and zoro's zombie versions fighting 🤣 chopper my favorite baby all round cutie always A+ for him 🥺❤️

But soon after that we reached Sabaody Archipelago and WE ARE SO BACK BABY!! excellent, excellent season which transitions smoothly into amazon lily and impel down. The uncomfortable reality of the world and the Luffy being the only one with a spine, YAS MY BOI love to see that ❤️✌🏼A lot in this season made me very very uncomfortable but in a good way. The jokes about Zoro's 0 direction sense are timeless, truly 😭. Amazon Lily was basically how men imagine matriarchal societies to be 🤣. If there ever existed an island like this, the inhabitants would likely not be wearing such uncomfortable looking skimpy clothes 😭 they'd get boob rash from so much boob and so many strings lmao. But the Snake Princess falling in love with Luffy is classic "my toxic trait is falling for unavailable men" lmao, her overdramatic delusional internal monologues were hilarious, loved her (even though she kicked little animals - WHY GIRL - which one bit you). Her backstory was heartbreaking, 10/10 execution. Luffy my golden boi, giving the ace representation we deserve even though your brother is named Ace lol. Suguru always thought this would make him happy.

If he was truly surprised or even thought the other boy would care, Suguru would’ve went over to him and said something but it wasn’t worth it. Satoru was just like him.

The way you turned to look at him with such concern almost made Suguru laugh. Here you were angry at him, going through your own shit, and still somehow harbored enough care to be concerned with his health.

“You carry around an empty pack?”

More than anything she was scared, alone, and believed every lie Jeonghan spouted. His abuse stopped after two occurrences, which led to their separation and Seungcheol saved her by the dead end of the night.

That same night Jeonghan left Astrid on the street, she was contemplating who to contact considering her phone was low on battery. She quickly contacted the first person who appeared up on her screen and sent her current location. Within seconds before her phone died, the said person replied, ‘Wait for me. I’ll go to you.’

She didn’t doubt Seungcheol for a second. He drove to her location and found her sitting on the benches, her face stained with tear marks, swollen eyes and red nose. He quickly got out of his car and ran to her, engulfing her into a hug. He caressed her hair as she couldn’t hide her emotions from him, breaking into a sobbing mess as she held onto him tightly, “It’s okay. Shh, I’m right here. I’m not going anywhere.”

“Don’t worry, love,” Seungcheol glanced down at Astrid, slowing down his pace once they were at a good distance away from Jeonghan. “I’ll make sure he doesn’t do anything at all. He won’t go anywhere near you.” He rubs her hand with his thumb still holding onto her, soothing her from the anxiety building up inside.

Tears began to form in her eyes, threatening to fall as she gave her boyfriend a small smile. “I know..” She knew deep down, Jeonghan still had an effect on her.

The trauma was still evidently there but she was slowly healing with the help of Seungcheol. He was patient with Astrid. He gave her every reassurance when she was at her lowest. Respected her space when she needed it.

He would pamper her with affection, and shower her with words of encouragement to get through the day. Seungcheol gave her love and security. She felt safe in his arms. The epitome of ‘if comfort was a person.’

Seungcheol's heart sank witnessing his partner break into tears. He faced her, cupping her face into his hands, and lightly squished her cheeks, "Trust me. I'm right here- always, Ash." He lowered his head to kiss her on the forehead. He would do anything for his partner to smile, preventing her from harm and never wanting to see Astrid cry.

Astrid smiles at his kiss. She rests her head on his chest and wraps her arms around his waist, pulling him close to a hug. In return Seungcheol wraps his arms around her, his chin resting on top of her head, gently playing with the ends of her hair whilst rubbing her back. They stayed in that position until Astrid calmed down from her anxiety.

With a deep breath, Astrid blinked away her tears and looks up at Seungcheol, “I’m good now, Cheol.”

He looks down with his brows knitted together, concern in his eyes, “Are you sure? Do you still want to continue on with our date? We can go back to my place and I can order us take out instead.”

As much as Seungcheol loved going on dates with Astrid during their free availability, her well-being mattered more than anything.

“Are you sure? You already made reservations at the restaurant though. It’d be a waste to not go,” Astrid pouted, unlocking herself from the hug.

“I want you to feel comfortable despite anything. We can always reschedule it,” he nods, pulling out his phone from the back pocket of his jeans with one hand and the other interlocking with hers as he plants a kiss onto her knuckles, “So, what do you say? It’s your call, Princess.”

ANYWAYS in a high school!au setting i see a lot of ppl like to hc jungwon as class/stuco president, but i think he’s definitely more on the quiet side .. he’s popular, yes, but not too popular if that makes sense. for him, though, this is perfect ... he flies under the radar, and him missing school a couple days in a row every month or so goes virtually unnoticed. HOWEVER, you’ve always had a sneaking suspicion .. it’s not like you and won are Rivals—there would be no merit in picking an unnecessary fight with the boy who volunteers at the soup kitchen on the weekends and feeds the stray cats near the gym and asks the lunch ladies how their days are going—but, there’s something strange going on. you’re sure of it.

jungwon comes into school one day w a busted lip and a black eye. everyone is fawning over him, asking him what happened—did he get mugged, did his face hurt, did he give the other person a run for their money? you don’t bother checking in on him when he takes his seat next to you. you just hand him his calculus test (he did better than you again n it’s infuriating) and clench your jaw, willing yourself to disappear. that familiar, green monster hangs in the shadows behind you, and its breath fans across your neck as it attempts to coax a physical manifestation of jealously from your lips. eventually, you excuse yourself to the nurse’s office and skip the rest of the day.

later that night, you’re trying to study in your room, but you keep getting distracted by the daily bugle’s twitter updates. spiderman is out and about again, and they won’t let the poor guy’s good reputation rest. it’s all “spiderman fights villain and knocks over streetlight onto local man’s car” and “spiderman forgoes saving lady’s churro to destroy half of grand central station”—and, honestly, you feel a bit bad. he’s trying his best. but, as rain patters against your window, the sound threatens to lull you to sleep. exhaustion overtakes your body, your eyes are drooping, and your head keeps falling from your hands. and then BOOM—the loudest noise you’ve ever heard startles you from your fatigue-induced trance. with a look of fear in your eyes, you glance over your shoulder to look at the window and the sight that greets you is enough to freeze every molecule in your body.

the aforementioned hero is clinging to the side of your building, banging his fist on the glass and practically begging to be let in. his movements are frantic and a bit scary. you open the window as quick as you can and let him slide through the small gap you’ve created. there are copious tears in his suit, blood flows from a nasty gash on his shoulder. rushing around on some crude form of auto pilot, you grab a clean shirt from your closet and press it into his wound. you tell him to hold it there and instruct him to sit in your desk chair. he's sopping wet from head to toe, and all you manage to think about is how glad you are that your parents are away for the weekend.

eventually, after only almost vomiting once, the cut is clean and bandaged up. "you're so lucky that i've been trying to get rid of this shirt forever, mr. spiderman," you scoff as he perches on the sill of your window, preparing to swing away into the night. "if i had grabbed one of my favorite outfits, i would've killed you before that wound could have."

a giggle escapes from his lips, and for a moment, you find yourself taken aback. he sounds like a high schooler—young, lively, and everything but the twenty-something year old man you thought he would be. "sorry about that ... i'll have to swing by and drop off some laundry detergent one of these days," he laughs. his voice sounds so familiar, but your mind is still reeling from your recent discovery. the hero offers you a wave and gestures toward his previous seat. "sleep well—and, good luck on that calculus homework."

the next day at school, jungwon is nowhere to be seen. you thank whatever happens to reside in the sky that he can't see the bright red 67 at the top of your most recent calculus test. the next next day, however, jungwon comes in with his arm in a sling. as his seatmate, you're the one that has to help him out for the rest of the week. but, when you're sitting in free period, you happen to take another glance at the bandages around his shoulder as jungwon naps next to you. a sharp column of ice pierces through your lower abdomen; under jungwon's sling, the lowest layer of bandages are covered with dried blood and sweat.

they look eerily familiar. almost like the ones you used to patch spiderman up over the weekend.

but, jungwon couldn't be spiderman. he couldn't be—he's too sweet, too gentle, too kind. peeking over at his backpack, you note that it seems a bit bulkier today; a recognizable purple cap winks at you from the unzipped main pocket. a chill tickles the length of your spine as you register what happened to be resting against his class notebooks.

random and like idk if i've asked this before but what is appealing to you abt Ruggie? like gen q cause I wanna know, idk how to explain it tho lol

Ok but seriously now 😭 this might be a bit long so my answer will be under the cut!

At first I really didn't care about Ruggie at all I thought he was just a guy😭😭 like he was just there living his life and I didn't really pay attention to him 🤷🏻‍♀️ in book 2 I didn't really like him but I got glimpses of what I would like about him at the very end during Leona's overblot and my soft spot about him grew once I read his Ceremonial Robes vignette!

Appearance wise he is the type of the "cute character" that I am very drawn towards, so that was obviously what gave me the soft spot, but what truly made me like him was his personality (since like I said I didn't really mind him before).

Ruggie is a very determined character, he is dead set in making his life better no matter what it takes, and he's always working hard to make that a reality (literally, he is never resting Ruggie pls you need to rest😭); on the outside he's extremely selfish and greedy, which I don't blame him because of his upbringing, imagine never having anything for yourself? Of course you're going to grow up being like this, but Ruggie is actually someone way kinder than he makes himself out to be, and way more caring too... 🥺🥺

Hyenas, at least from what Jack said in book 4, have a sense of community, and Ruggie shows that sooooo much. He's extremely grateful for all the sacrifices his grandma took for him, taking care of him all by herself even when his dad abandoned them and his mother died, not only that but because he grew up around so many other kids in the same situation he took care of them and acted as a big brother figure to them... Because of that he (at least it seems to me) is very family oriented and is always trying to take care of his community, he's very good with kids. These are traits that I really admire in people in general. His "payback" after Leona nearly murdered him in book 2 was MAKE HIM SMILE. It shows that Ruggie is way more caring than he believes himself to be... And that makes me go crazy😭😭 he clearly cares for Leona and he shows it in his own Ruggie way, which I love<3

Like I said before because of his upbringing Ruggie is someone who's unwilling to give up no matter what, even when Leona was hurting him in book 2 and almost killing him, when Leona told him to give up he REFUSED. HE'S SO DETERMINED AND THAT INSPIRES ME TO BE DETERMINED TOO!!!😭😭😭😭 He never backs down when faced with adversity and that just!!! It makes me smile!!!!

Other than the serious stuff, small things like his huge appetite and his greediness (which I don't blame him because of how he grew up) are just things that once you start loving Ruggie, you grow fond of that... Like suddenly you're not sighing in disappointment when he steals someone's food you're actually very happy and giggling and you're cheering for him to get away with it so he can eat😭😭😭

I think Ruggie is an amazing character and way more in depth than what people give him credit for, and these are a few of the reasons on why I love love love him so much<3

Jen Tortures Herself With Every Dreamworks Animated Movie Ever: Prince of Egypt

Papa Bless (literally) its time for me to talk about one of my favorite animated movies, nay, one of my favorite MOVIES ever made. Prince of Egypt is a work of art. Hands down, it is one of the most incredible movies I have ever seen. I'm not even religious (I did grow up Christian and am now a Filthy Heathen but that's beside the point). The real point is that this movie is one that I think can be enjoyed by anyone reguardless of religion. At its core, they took a simple biblical story and turned it into something with raw passion and emotion and art. And I simply adore it.

Every time I watch this movie, its such an experience for me. I always fall in love with new things, from the fantastic character designs, to the insanely lovely animation to the beautiful songs and score to the way the story is told and the emotions the characters go through with it. Everything in this movie feels huge, weighty, and important. It's very respectful to its source material while making changes that make it work better as a film, particularly the brotherly dynamic between Moses and Rameses that adds a whole new layer of drama onto the story.

As for that story, we all know the Exodus story by now so I'll spare you on that and discuss the things the movie does on its own. That dynamic between Moses and Rameses is at the heart of the movie and it really is just a devestating tragedy to watch them break apart and become enemies because of the huge responsibilities thrust onto both of their shoulders. The fact that tragedy ends on such a heartcrushing note too its just... god. (literally god, get it? cause this is all his fault lol jk ok)

Moses is fantastically written, a great main character to follow who has compelling drama, at first about his true identity and how he struggles to comes to terms with it and then grappling with having to oppose Rameses to set the Hebrews free. Rameses himself may just be one of Dreamworks best villains, you really do feel bad for him but you also know he's bringing so much of this suffering on himself because of his own stubborn pride. The rest of the cast is also fantastic, Tzipporah is lovely and really fun, Miriam is an absolute sweetheart, Aaron is a sassy little loser but I love how he comes around in the end, and well, God is God (the burning bush scene tho, can we talk about that? fucking INSANE)

The MUSIC man, each song is SO damn good its hard for me to even pick a favorite. Deliver Us is such a strong opening, a wonderful way to set the stage that makes the stakes feel high right from the start. All I Ever Wanted is a great way to show the life Moses always knew cracking from the inside out. Through Heaven's Eyes is just a bop with a lovely message about change and growth. Playing with the Big Boys is delightfully sinister and the Plagues, oh GOD THE PLAGUES???? INSANE MAN SO DRAMATIC AND INTENSE AND THE IMAGERY IS JUST??!?!?! BRUH! When You Believe might be my favorite though, it starts out somber but grows into this hopeful triumph of excitement and relief and its absolutely beautiful.

This movie is so beautiful to look at too! The composition of some of these shots, the storyboarding, the facial expressions, the set pieces, the movement of the animation, its all so expertly crafted, so entrancing to watch every second of it. Like I said at the start, this movie truly is an utter work of art in every sence of the word.

I've been gushing about this movie for long enough I think, but I can't help it! It's honestly that good! And its so hard to believe that it came hot off the heels of a trash heap like Antz. Like bruh how were they cooking that shit and the godsend that is Prince of Egypt at the same time??? Insane, utterly insane. This studio is ridiculous.

Anyway, Prince of Egypt is the GOAT and I will fight you if you disagree.

Overall Rating: 10/10
