Writing you love letters in phlebotomy class

and watching the crease of my elbow bloom. I look in the vials and you’re in my water. Robbers of you. Coagulating. I’m learning new words: brachial, cephalic, basilic. Redefining butterfly. Dizzy as a centrifuge. Won’t you spin me, darling? Separate me into serum and plasma and lovesickness. Layers of liquid and you. Suspended in heparin.

I’m finding romance in what’s sterile. The preparation and the site of insertion. Kissing your hand and retrieving an alcohol swab, making a ritual of caring. Devoted. Is a blood panel a prayer? An appeal to a higher power? There’s an intervention between syringe and autoclave. That’s where I live. Cleric of blood, acolyte of leeches. Their honest thirst. Their small sharp mouths.

I marked you twice, once on the back of each hand. A bruise like a kiss, livid and real. Hematoma of love. Your stubborn veins. For a moment I couldn’t draw anything forth, and I quavered at your altar. The needle begs the salt to follow. Release and flash. Relief and sting. Then the hot wet pulse inside the vial— a tourniquet loosened around my heart as the proof of your life warmed my palm.

I line up my instruments and remember your lovely wrists. When it comes time to puncture another, may they feel the echo of your faith in my touch; how, when I asked for your love, you gave me your arm.

But because it means safety.#Because it was something he was denied and the idea of not having control in his life again is unforgivable.#'Happiness' isn't a goal. We are looking at someone still stuck at the bottom of Maslow's hierarchy of needs.#Everything and everyone is a piece in a game. Bonds and friendships are assets. People are dispensable.#He wants to climb for the sake of climbing. He wants praise and recognition because he feels it is deserved. It's all so hollow.#We could go deeper into his psyche on this.#But these are also tags under a comic in which 'evil penis music' is the punchline.

#legend of zelda #loz #twilight princess #loz tp #i'm still reeling that someone sent me an ask about this one.. that they took the time to find my tumblr and tell me they liked it #it really meant a lot; thank you to anyone that stops to leave comments like that. they make me happy #but yeah! here's the usual symbolism ramble:#i thought it'd be cool to have the 'spirits' flowing one way and the cats walking through them the other way #to kinda show the difference in life inhabiting the village in the past and present #link's face is covered because impaz was just waiting for 'the hero' so his clothes are what matters; not his face #and it (hopefully) gives a surreal and intangible sense to 'the hero' she could only hope would actually show up #you can feel free to interpret the glowy blue sheikah as ghosts or just as memories of the past! i couldn't decide either way #the one on the bottom left is oot impa since she's implied to be the village founder. so i guess she would be a ghost actually?#fan art #my art #project stuff #and ahhh the book-- everyone's stuff is so beautiful!!#especially the writing. some of the fics made me really tear up and some were so fun and clever. i really love them #a lot of them captured the sheer burden of the role of the sheikah; all of the time and grief and doubt #i know i always say this stuff about every project but. the people i get to work with in these are truly so skilled every time

I didn't get him (and I need to save my keys for Silver's birthday, sob) so I looked up his groovy, and I'm not over how incredibly dramatic and epic and cool it looks in direct contrast to the absolutely ridiculous context. just look at that dynamic action and his majestic sparkling tears and keep in mind that this is pretty much right after a bunch of characters have been dance battling for his soul.

and then even the actual moment of the groovy is just like

this is NOT a negative in the slightest, I love it all, this truly was an incredible update in so many ways

One of the things I realized when I watched Fury Road directly after Furiosa:

Furiosa doesn't treat Max like she treated Jack. She treats Max like Jack treated her.

There are so many parallels - the way they meet, their conflict with each other that quickly turns to partnership, their journey to The Green Place (and how it fails)...

But where before it was Jack reaching out to her, now it's Furiosa who is asking Max his name, teaching him the kill sequence for the rig, trusting him to have her back in a fight, giving him everything he needs to leave (even when she wants him to stay).

Furiosa doesn't see Jack in Max, she sees herself. Everything from the muzzle to the nightmares to the fact that he barely speaks is a direct parallel to what she was like when she met Jack, and Furiosa knows it. And so as someone reached out to her, she reaches out to him, this feral, half-mad Wastelander. She reaches out and offers him hope, just like Jack did to her when he came back for her on the Fury Road.

And together, they find some kind of redemption

three times kara told nia “you have me”. each time, a different part of kara’s identity.

first time, it was kara zor-el, because she wanted to assure nia that she’s not alone. that someone understood her. kara allowed nia to see her true, full self. she trusted her friend and wanted to make her feel less alone.

second time, it was her friend kara danvers who assured her she’d always be there for her when she needed someone to lean on. nia was grieving and having that support from a friend was really important.

third time, it was her crime-fighting partner supergirl. for the first time in her superhero career, dreamer was faced with a problem she couldn’t tackle on her own. it was important for her to know that she didn’t have to, that she’ll always have someone to stand with her against injustice.

i’m so grateful for their friendship on the show and it’s a shame they didn’t develop them even further. they truly brought out the best in each other.
