coming back home to canada after vacation is so disappointing lol.
#even tho it was cold and rainy the last few days in Dublin it was so nice to be in another country and culture#I mean I always have rose-tinted glasses on whenever I leave North America cause it always feel refreshing#and Ireland is going through a housing crisis too and the cost of living is extremely high#but i truly believe being in Europe is so much better than being here#the quality of the food is so high. all our meals were incredible and fresh#people prioritize social time whether it’s being at the pub or just taking advantage of being outside#you don’t live to work but work to live#I would rather make less money and have more vacation time and work/life balance than be grinding all the time and working for the weekend#and you are already in Europe#you can hop on a flight and be in another country in less than an hour#versus it takes an hour to fly within our province cause the land is so big#idk#I so often think about what it would be like to move out of Canada and how I could do it#but I know it’s no easy feat and it’s hard to be away from family and friends#no country is without its problems#but I feel like if i was around more greenery I’d have less problems !!!

#does florida have some really bad traits? yeah obviously#the tourists the traffic the politics#but i can't fuck with people painting with a broad brush because there's so many wonderful things about florida#the everglades the beaches the wildlife#like you can't possibly tell me there's nothing good in flroida when the everglades exist#she provides 8 million people with drinking water. she has eight separate habitats.#she protects and houses many critically endangered species like the florida panther the american alligator egrets#even the ghost orchid#if you really think florida is nothing but a hellhole you lack the ability to see beauty all around you#and lack of understanding in how important a part nature plays#it's not perfect but it's home#like how can you look at a manatee and say that florida's nothing but a hellhole?#maybe if you visited blue springs park to watch the manatees you'd calm down#or take a glass bottom boat ride at wakulla springs or go tubing down the ichetucknee#go look at some birds and alligators and frogs#go collect sharks teeth off the beaches in the gulf#florida has a truly beautiful and unique ecosystem and i feel bad for people who can't appreciate it#oscar talks to himself

I spent almost two hundred dollars on storage (decent storage...all of it see-through) and now my room is finally tidy again and it is so cozy.
#I have finally had to confront head-on the fact that i really and truly do struggle with object impermanence quite a lot#and that it's not something i can successfully train out of myself#so i bought a bunch of wire baskets and glass canisters and already it's working so well#and it's only been a morning and an evening#my room went from “horrible cramped hole”#to “most comfortable place in the house”
