“Joel Miller”.
Was that a suicide mission? Probably, but you hoped not.
It wasn’t like you had a choice anyway. The moment you heard Joel’s name being called for this rescue mission, you knew you were going to volunteer to go with the party. Yes, he was going to get angry and try to talk you out of it, but it would be in vain. You would follow him to the end of the world if necessary.
You stood there by his side, the canteen rammed with people ― all of you looking towards the platform in the north corner. One of the leaders, Troy, kept on shouting names to the void. You glanced up at Joel, who was completely still, his eyes fixed on the podium. You couldn’t tell if he was upset or not, but he would soon be for sure.
Once Troy finished talking, an uncomfortable silence ensued, only broken by the quiet sobs of a young fellow whose named had been picked. Eric, you remembered. He must have just turned eighteen, because he looked so damn young. His mother was by his side, hugging him with tears on her eyes.
That scene broke your heart a little.
“Any volunteers?”, said the leader after a minute.
You looked around. No one was talking, everyone pretending they didn’t hear the question.
You felt Joel’s hand firmly grip your left wrist, silently asking you to remain quiet. He knew what you were about to do, but he couldn’t stop you.
You raised your right hand, eyes to the front, avoiding visual contact with him.
“I’ll take Eric’s place”, you said with a steady voice.
Joel grunted audibly, his fingers tighter around your wrist.
“The fuck do you think you’re doing?”, you heard him mumble under his breath.
You ignored him.
“Great, thank you. Y’all are dismissed, except for those elected. Come forward”.
Before Joel had the chance to even talk, Eric and his mother approached you. She hugged you, still sobbing, and you palmed her back in a calming manner. The young bloke stared at you, silently crying and mouthed a “thank you”.
“I’m eternally grateful. Eric is the only person I have left by my side. My husband, my daughter… everyone is gone”, whispered the woman in your ear.
You held the tears by gulping down the knot in your throat. Although you didn’t necessarily volunteer for his son originally, her emotion was so sincere it tugged at your heart.
The woman broke off the hug, touched your forearm in gratitude, and then walked off with her son.
You turned around to face Joel. His jaw was so clenched you worried he was going to chip a molar.
Joel wanted to shake some sense into you so badly, he had to tightly close his fists. He couldn’t comprehend why you would do that. He wanted to keep you safe, and you were not making it an easy task. What if he lost you? What would he do then? That simple thought made him feel sick. You were the glue holding him together, the only reason he woke up every day and didn’t give up.
The mere thought of losing you consumed his brain, whether he liked it or not. He… he loved you, all of you, but was too afraid to speak his mind, to jinx it. Because he was cursed. Saying it out loud would put you in the universe’s bullseye, he was sure of it.
When the woman and his son left along with almost everyone else, Joel pulled you from your elbow, slamming you against his chest. He really was trying not to lose his shit in public, but fear was gripping him by his neck, the grim reaper’s noose strangling him.
“You ain’t coming. I don’t fucking care if that kid dies, you’re staying right here. Tell Troy you have changed your mind now”, he muttered, teeth gritting, his fingers sinking around your flesh.
“You’re hurting me, Joel”, you whispered, and he relaxed his hand’s grip, although he didn’t let go. “Look, I know it’s scary, but if you’re going, I’m coming with you. You won’t get rid of me so easily”, you taunted him.
The joke wasn’t welcomed, which you expected.
“If you get hurt, even a tiny scratch ― I’m gonna fucking kill you myself”, his head was bowed towards yours, his mouth too close, your palms on his chest.
So close you couldn’t refrain yourself from placing a gentle kiss on his lips. That soothed him, but just a bit. You glanced at him, containing your amusement.
“Well, that’s a paradox, don’t you think?”, you spoke softly before taking a step back, holding his hand. “C’mon, they are waiting”.
“We’re not done talking about this”, he grunted.
You dragged Joel to the circle where the other six lucky people were standing around Troy, in time to listen to whatever he had to say about this mission.
“As I was explaining at the beginning of this meeting, our most experienced medic, Sasha, and her team, have not returned from their scavenging run. They went out a couple of days ago looking for medical supplies and we have not heard back from them in the last twenty-four hours. We must bring them back. That is, if they are still alive”, Troy explained while he flattened a map of the city on the table in front of him. “Their last contact was from Illinois Medical District, somewhere around Ogden Avenue. We assume they went in John H. Stroger, Jr. Hospital of Cook County”. Troy laid out the plan to follow, before finishing with a, “You’re leaving in three hours, good luck”.
“Have you lost your fucking mind?”, Joel growled as soon as the door closed behind him.
Even if he wanted to, he couldn’t stop himself from worrying. The memory of almost losing you still haunted him. The overthinking, the fear, the irrevocable doom ― it all made him feel uneasy. He just wanted to keep you away from all harm. That fateful night Joel swore to himself he would never let anything happen to you ― not while he was still breathing.
He had lost too much, but also gained so much ― he could not, would not, lose you too. Even if it was the last thing he did in this world. Over the last year, he had grown attached to you. You taught him there was light on the shore ― that life didn’t have to end the moment he lost Sarah, as much as he wanted it to. You showed him he could still care, laugh, protect, cry, worry, relax, feel. Feel so much, so vividly.
Joel could have said all that to you instead of his scolding question, but he didn’t know any better. His feelings were an entangled mess, one he didn’t have the experience to unravel.
His anger shimmered when you rolled your eyes at him.
“Honestly, I don’t know what you worry about, Joel. It will be fine. We’ve been through worse than this puny, little rescue mission. We’ll be okay”, you downplayed with a sweet smile, your hand stroking his forearm.
“What if we aren’t? What if you get hurt?”, he muttered, his jaw muscles rigid.
Your features softened; your sweet lips pursed.
“I can’t, you’ll kill me yourself, don’t you remember?”, he deciphered your joking tone, but to him this was no laughing matter. “Your paradox?”, you added cocking an eyebrow, mistaking his silence for forgetfulness.
“I know what I said. And I meant it. You can’t get hurt, got it? I forbid you”, his voice was serious. He knew you couldn’t make such a promise, but he insisted anyway, “Promise me”.
Something in you shifted because Joel saw your expression change from amusement to understanding. You got closer, sliding your arms around his waist. Joel draped his around your shoulders, his heart beating loudly in his ribcage. He held you tight, your nose poking his chest, your palms resting on the small of his back.
He shut his eyes, counting his blessings.
“I promise”, you conceded in a hushed tone.
His reply was simple ― he pressed his lips against your forehead as his body relaxed into yours.
At midnight, both you and Joel walked towards the 1999 Jeep Cherokee you had parked on South Damen Avenue. You had just done a reconnaissance mission around the hospital’s west wing. You had been in there for two full hours and didn’t find a living soul, just clickers. You were sweaty because of the physical effort, your gun still hot. You cleaned the blade of your knife on your jeans before sheathing it in your belt. You trotted to the passenger’s side while Joel headed towards the driver’s, both of you jumping in the car.
Two members of the team, Jordan and Margaret, had just taken over you after you reported back to them what you encountered inside. You saw them walking towards Winchester Avenue to sweep the north wing of the building. Daisy and Adam just returned too and headed towards the second car in West Polk Street ― they had explored the south wing at the same time as you had been inside. Luke and Taylor had just taken over them to inspect the east wing of the hospital.
“That was… interesting”, you said while closing the passenger’s door. “If they really went in there, there was absolutely no trace of them. It’s like they have vanished”.
“Yeah, it’s weird. Not even one clicker was dead before we entered. If they had encountered any issues, surely they would have killed some of them. We should have seen bodies or something, I dunno”, Joel thought out loud, leaving his firearm on top of the dash at the same time you did.
“Let’s see if Jordan and Margaret, or Luke and Taylor get back with news, otherwise this is going to be boring as fuck”, you commented as Joel leaned towards you to open the glove box. “What are you doing?”, you asked him out of curiosity.
“Looking for entertainment”, he then pulled a pack of cigarettes with a smile on his face. “You smoke?”, he asked while breaking the plastic seal around it.
You shook your head. It wasn’t a habit you wanted to pick up now, although you didn’t mind others smoking. Joel rolled down his window while pressing the car’s cigarette lighter against the tip of the fag. He then put the lighter back in its slot and laid his right hand on your left thigh ― his fingertips stroking your inner thigh. So possessive, your temperature started to rise, a slick warmth pooling in your lower belly.
You glanced at him with a raised eyebrow, but he didn’t notice ― Joel was looking through the driver’s window, his elbow poking out and resting on the door frame while he took a puff. You hovered your fingers over his on your thigh, your palm against the back of his hand, your digits intertwined in a fist as you slid them closer to your crotch.
“I could entertain you, if you wanted me to”, you whispered when his knuckles nudged your cunt.
Joel turned to look at you so fast you thought he might snap his neck. His eyes drifted down and darkened. He poked your pussy with his knuckles again, this time of his own volition.
“We shouldn’t”, a muscle twitched in his jawline.
You smiled.
“I’m sure Adam and Daisy can keep watch on their own for a while”, you bit your bottom lip as you flattened his hand against your belly and guided him down, underneath your jeans and panties. His palm flushed against your mound. “Please?”, you added, flashing your eyelashes at him.
Joel dunked his middle finger in your wet slit and stroked your clit. You pressed your lips, gazing at him like a needy puppy. He didn’t break visual contact as his index joined the middle finger, both digits tracing your damp furrow. You sobbed quietly as Joel took another drag, submerging his long finger until it disappeared in your weeping hole. He moved it in a circular motion, and you gasped.
“Is this what you need, sweetheart?”, he murmured. You nodded frantically. “Always so needy for some cock, aren’t you?”.
“Not just any cock, yours”, you emphasized with a stuttering voice, your insides melting for him.
His eyes flickered with lust, a sinful grin taking over his lips.
You whimpered, tilting your head backwards to rest against the headrest, as his index joined the middle one in your warm pit. You started panting when he caressed your g-spot non-stop while he finished his cigarette nonchalantly. Joel stubbed it out when he was done with it and then pushed his fingers in your cunt as far as he could take them, bottoming out, to the point where the force he was using made you lift your hips off the car seat.
You were so close to coming ― your sleek pussy beating for him, clasping around him. You were so soaked, his digits were drowning inside of you, making squelching noises as Joel fingered you relentlessly. You held on to his torturing wrist, feeling the rhythm he was imposing on you. Your drenched pussy palpitated, your clit on fire ― and so you came with a loud, prolonged moan, your knees shaking.
Joel rubbed your clit one more time before removing his hand from your underwear.
“C’mon, be a good girl now and do your job”, he ordered, cupping his swollen groin.
“Yes, sir”, you murmured, your cunt still gushing, deluging your panties.
He took your right hand and placed it on his bulge, rubbing your palm against the zipper of his jeans. You grasped the metal rod of his headrest while you leaned forward and ghosted his mouth, your playful hand kneading his erection. Your lips crashed and the kiss got sloppy ― his tongue wrestled with yours, while you unbuckled his belt and undid the zipper.
The palm of your hand slid off his length over his briefs. Then you pushed down the elastic of his underwear and his cock popped out. You ignored his shaft to massage his ballocks. You squeezed them gently and Joel let out a horny moan in the middle of the messy kiss. The most perfect melody you ever heard.
You broke off the smooch to catch a breath, your hand still holding his balls, your thumb rubbing the ridge in between his nuts. You pecked his Adam’s apple as you wrapped your fingers around his shaft, moving your hand up and down slowly. Joel sat up a bit to remove his shirt and then rested his back against the car seat again. You kissed the centre of his collarbone, your lips drifting southwards on his skin.
You bit around his belly button when you heard him lit another cigarette, the smoke filling up the cabin. You finally went down on him and showered his cock with wet licks. Joel sighed audibly, relaxing on his seat, which made you smile. Your tongue twirled around the tip of his dick once before you backed off and spit on his erection. You slathered your saliva on his steely column, then bente forward with your mouth open to imprison his glans with your plush lips.
A controlled groan escaped Joel’s mouth ― squirming in place, trying to make himself comfortable when you took his dick in your mouth. He looked down, your head bobbing up and down on his lap, your lips pressed around his cock, creating a seal. He felt himself trapped in your throat, his tip touching the back of your wet cavity. His left hand put the cigarette on his lips and took a long puff as he placed his right hand on your neck. You were wearing a ponytail ― in a moment of weakness he grabbed it resolutely, forcing you down on him.
Your eyes watered, your gag reflex being tested, your chin caressing his testicles. You retched a bit, your throat adapting to his massive girth and length. He had gotten rough for a second, which meant you were pushing him to his limits. When Joel realised that you were struggling a bit, he quickly let go of your ponytail.
“Shit, sorry, darlin’”, he growled.
You freed his cock to breathe and giggled, your mouth full of sticky precum. You started pumping him, kissing the velvety skin on his balls, while his right hand travelled down your back until he seized the back of your underwear and yanked it. The rims of your panties slid over your skin and got stuck in your slit and butt crack, as if you were wearing a g-string. The clothing caught on your clit and you gasped as he pulled upwards, the garment scrunching in your fold, causing a delightful friction against the centre of your pleasure.
Joel stirred his hips, which told you he was close to coming. You sat back up, your teary eyes meeting his lustful ones. He wiped away a tear off your cheek.
“Come sit on my lap, baby, let me fuck that pussy of mine”, he offered, tapping his left thigh, and putting out the cigarette butt on the car’s ashtray.
Before you happily obliged, you pushed down your jeans and panties to your ankles and kicked your feet until they came off. Your t-shirt quickly followed, no bra. Then you hastily straddled him as commanded. Joel set down his hands on your ass and abruptly spanked one of your buttocks. You jerked your hips up at the surprise ― your cunt above his belly button.
Holding you there, he lapped your right nipple with the tip of his tongue. The tight button shrunk in excitement as you whimpered. Then his lips closed around the puckered teat and sucked it in in his mouth. This time you whined, the sound reverberating in your throat as you slammed your eyes shut. Your wanton pussy was dripping on to his belly while he alternated between your boobs to eat them like a glutton ― the discharge of your passion running down from your leaking hole on to his belly button, then pooling on the tip of his manhood, sliding off his happy trail and length to finally gather on his balls.
His tongue gave you no truce ― licking, sucking, taunting, smothering your nipples. You dug your fingers in his hair, pressing his gorgeous face against your breasts. Joel palmed your shivering pussy from behind, his fingertips caressing your clit, which he started tapping sweetly. Your head leaned forward in awe, eyes closed, to kiss his crown. His fingers became more intrusive, his mouth more demanding, until you couldn’t deal with it anymore. You wailed his name as you came, your knees quivering. Then he slapped you hard on your pussy ― one of your hands flew to your lips to stifle your own scream. Joel immediately massaged your puffed-up flaps, his cold skin a calming balm on yours.
“Good girl, sweetheart. Now fuck yourself with my dick”, he instructed you before trapping your nipple in between in his teeth and pulling.
You saw stars behind your eyes.
You let go of his hair, curved your back and cradled his face with both hands, tilting it up towards you so you could kiss him fondly as you dropped your hips. His cock found your pulsating opening ― it was like his body knew its way to yours blindly. Your palms flat against his cheeks, your breath and his collided like a tornado when you both moaned in each other’s mouths. You plummeted on his lap, burying him completely inside of you. Your hips rolled of their own accord. Slowly you rode him, up and down, back and forth, your lips attached to his at all times. The tip of his cock kept stroking the right spot over and over again ― every single time it would drag along your anterior wall, driving you crazy.
You felt like riding a rollercoaster ― your orgasm building up as you approached the top and then you tipped over with no warning. Your lips parted as wave after wave washed over you in bursts. Your cunt narrowed down, choking his dick, palpitating, involuntarily pleading for him to come with you.
“Fuck, fuck ― FUCK”, he groaned painfully, lifting your ass off his cock rashly.
Just in the nick of time, he came ― his cock twitching against your belly button, you wielding him, gently pumping his shaft as the last shots of cum spurted out the slit on his glans. You squeezed his erection one last time, kissing him lovingly on the chin.
Labouredly breathing, both of your hearts slowed down together as you recovered. His gaze darkened ― you could see the longing, the yearning in his eyes. The care, the affection, but also the fear. Your heart swelled at the realisation ― he hadn’t said it yet, but you knew, even though you thought he hadn’t realised it himself. You just needed to be patient with him. You had time.
With a doting smile, your thumb hovered over his lips before you pressed them with yours.
An hour had gone by, and there was no news from Jordan nor Margaret. You had radioed the second car ― they hadn’t heard back from Luke and Taylor either. The pack of cigarettes was only half full now, Joel chain smoking, both of you watching the building attentively. You tried to contact Jordan over the radio, but there was no reply.
You clicked your tongue, handing Joel the radio and grabbing the gun off the dash.
Joel’s eyes darted to you.
“Where do you think you are going?”, his brows furrowed.
“I’m just gonna have a quick look around the corner, that’s all”, you said, opening the passenger’s door.
“Then I’m coming with you”, he grunted.
Joel grabbed his firearm and left the radio on the dash. Both doors shut silently, the night was so eerily calm you could hear a pin drop.
The chilling early December air greeted you as you stepped out. You started walking towards Winchester Avenue, where Jordan and Margaret had disappeared from sight. Joel was a few metres behind you, covering your back.
Then you heard it before you saw it. You signalled for Joel to stop in his tracks. A quiet sob, a thud. With your back against the wall, you sticked out your head to sweep the entrance to the emergency room. Sasha was on the floor, all bloody, Margaret crouching over her. You couldn’t hear their whispers. As Margaret helped Sasha to her feet, the medic whimpered and hobbled, her knees touching the pavement again.
“Shit”, you cursed, running towards them, Joel on your heels. “What’s happened?”, you questioned, putting your gun away, grabbing Sasha’s left arm to drape it over your shoulders.
Sasha just wept, shaking uncontrollably, so you looked at Margaret for answers.
“Where’s Jordan?”, you asked before she shook her head with pouty lips and mournful eyes.
Fuck, you thought, the weight of a massive stone grounding your stomach.
As Sasha stood with you, Joel clutched his fingers around your left elbow, yanking you away from both women. You lost your grip on Sasha as you stumbled with your own feet, Joel’s hand steadying you to prevent you from falling.
You wanted to shout at him, but you refrained. He had drawn his gun and was pointing it to Sasha’s forehead.
“You’ve been bit”, he sentenced, unruffled, his hand still.
You looked down and then you saw teeth’s marks on Sasha’s forearm. Your eyes jumped to hers, a mixture of fear and sympathy.
Margaret sobbed, her hand flew to Joel’s wrist, trying to push down the gun.
“Joel, please, she’s my best friend, we can’t just―”, before she was able to finish, a commotion caught your attention.
Both you and Joel looked up at the same time, a clicker dragging its feet towards you. In its past life, it had been a teen girl, brunette, curly hair. Had it not been for the fungus growing around her mouth, her decomposed expression and awkward walking, you knew she would have been beautiful.
Then it lunged forward towards you, but Joel was quick enough to shoot it right between its eyes. You gasped, clutching onto him. You had a glimpse at his face ― he seemed to have seen a ghost, but the moment was fleeting, his demeanour composed again.
He turned his gun to Sasha once more. You really thought he was going to execute her there and then.
More clicking sounds, dragged by the wind. You could see movement through the glass doors.
“Are you coming or not? She’s staying though”, Joel repeated, his tone soulless.
There was no time to respond, as a small group of clickers tumbled through the emergency doors, throwing them open and running fast towards all of you, as if they had awakened from their lethargy.
Joel reacted before you did ― he snatched you and pushed you in front of him, urging you to run.
“Run! Run!”, he screamed at you, your legs taking you away as fast as they could, Joel racing behind you towards the car.
You heard the loud shrieks as both women were torn apart. You blinked to keep the tears at bay, and you didn’t look back.
Joel skidded through the mud, his hand grasping the handle on the driver’s side as you jumped inside. He swiftly put the keys in the ignition at the same time the radio went off.
“Abort! Drive! GO! THEY ARE HE―”, you both looked towards West Polk Street, the headlights of the other car blinded you as they turned the corner towards South Damen Avenue.
Three clickers were on the roof of the car, two on the hood. The driver steered the wheel to the left abruptly to get rid of the infected, but lost control of the car quickly ― and then hit a tree. Both Daisy and Adam jumped out of the car, horror folding their faces.
You opened the passenger’s door, standing on the edge of the car. The whole scene was hectic, your heart pounding so hard you feared it was going to explode inside your chest. You waved at them.
“RUN! OVER HERE!”, your screams drowned by the characteristic sounds of the clickers. And then the infected caught up with them, knocking them to the ground. “NO!”, you squealed as their deathly screams filled the air.
You froze in place, in shock. You couldn’t look away ― Daisy’s hand emerged from the mass of bodies she was buried under, her fingernails digging the ground to get away. You caught a glimpse of her imploring eyes, a silent plea asking you to save her.
Bile travelled up your throat, but you swallowed hard.
Joel grabbed the back of your t-shirt to pull you back inside the car and pointed to the crushed car, now on fire, the motor of yours roaring awake. Then you saw them. Dozens of infected coming towards you. Your eyes widened, but you managed to slam the door shut as Joel drove away towards Interstate 290.
His driving was manic, as if the devil himself was following you. He turned the wheel so harshly, so many times as he dodged anything and everything in his path, that you had to hold on to the grab handle.
You took a deep breath, trying to calm your nerves. You surveyed the outside world ― your forehead almost touching the window as you saw herds of clickers in motion. Hundreds of them pouring out of the buildings. You scanned the landscape in terror ― there were so many.
Now you understood why this was no man’s land.
Joel laid his hand on your left thigh, a soundless beg to look at him instead of out the glass. So you did. You gaped as if you were about to say something.
“It’s okay, we’re okay, baby”, he whispered, his eyes never leaving the highway.
You both were okay. But at what cost?
Sasha and her team. Adam and Daisy. Margaret and Jordan. And Luke and Taylor, most probably dead too.
So was the world you lived in. So fucking dead.
But you kept your promise, the paradox forgotten. You were okay.

Movie fan here, to me both are different flavors of fanfiction.
it's common knowledge that Troy is way more hated than TSOA, so I think there isn't any double standards favoring it when it comes to that.
People love to call TSOA a fanfiction but not Troy (2004) when it took like 1000 more creative licenses than TSOA and literally for WHAT
#the troy 2004 tag is literally only hate except for me and the two mutuals into it i have so i think people are aware it's not accurate#no one ever has defended troy over tsoa#what i have seen is people that hate both#long ago I said that i think troy is like a x reader fic and tsoa is like slash fic#and i still think the description is fitting

✩ℍ𝕒𝕧𝕚𝕟𝕘 𝔸𝕔𝕙𝕚𝕝𝕚𝕖𝕤 + 𝔹𝕣𝕚𝕤𝕖𝕚𝕤 𝕒𝕤 𝕡𝕒𝕣𝕣𝕖𝕟𝕥𝕤✩
Pairing: Achilles, Briseis x gn!child reader(platonic ovi 😦)
Genre: headcannons , fluff , light violence
Notes: this was requested by @helei-brain and argh I'm sorry it took so long to write this but life just keeps getting in the way truly truly sorry. Also um the Trojan war? Never heard of her 🥰 and sorry for this being so short.
----------------------------------------------------
Ok this would be utter chaos/pos
You'd live with your mother in Troy because most often your dad would be off hacking heads somewhere else
Your mother is very sweet and calm and of course very religious
Your dad however is violent , loud and slightly arogant
Briseis would teach you about the gods and how to respect them
Teach you philosophy and astronomy and anything you'd ever show curiosity in.
Take you or long walks , teach you to weave and how to get along with the high class pukes
But your dad would spend 3 hours a day teaching you how to remove someone's arm from their socket or how to knock some creepy Old man's lights out
He would teach you to swim and ride a horse properly
He'd always make a fool of himself in front of your family and you and your mom would be internally screaming the whole time
You would miss him terribly when he went off to fight but would always bring you back a token of apology, the finest linen , strings of jewels and jugs of rich oils for your mother.
If you ever fell in love your parents reactions would definitely be...something
Briseis would be happy but ask a million questions , she can't help but worry
I think Achilles would punch your partner even if they were one of the holiest gods
And let's not forget about your beloved relatives
Sparing with patroclus is a regular occurrence, and you often explore the shores of Troy with him.
And although Achilles might not like it , passing time and learning from Hector and Paris
Hector is much like his sister teaching you right from wrong and makes sure you are being treated justly
Paris is the fun uncle.
Teaches you to shoot and takes you on his hunting trips
Buys you gifts every time you visit
Gramp priam is nice , he also buys you expensive items but distances himself sometimes because of his distain for your father.
You have never met Achilles mother and you probably never will
You love your parents dearly and are grateful for every day you have with them.

summary - daughter of menelaus!reader two households both alike in dignity, In the fair Troy and far off Sparta, where we lay our scene.
warning - this is serisouly non-canon to Paris’s orginal story and to the Iliad. Like at this point it’s like I rewrote the whole thing-

~
Paris and Hector were sent by their father the wise King Priam to travel from Troy to Sparta to finalize peace treaties between the two countries.
The two brothers sailed on the wine-dark sea before they finally harbored, Paris’s heart beating faster in his chest at the thought of seeing you again.
The first time you and Paris met was back on his last trip to Sparta with his father. Priam traveled this time with only two of his sons, Paris and Hector in order to form an early form of the peace treaty that was soon to be signed, the princes expected to come back to finalize.
The first time around the people of Sparta welcomed the king and princes of Troy with a large feast, ready to prepare the papers that would be signed in months to come.
You caught Paris’s eye when you walked from behind those beautiful tall stone columns that decorated the dining hall. Your long pink dress that was tightened around your body with fine garments and long golden ribbons that were tightening the long fabric against your curves sent his head spinning the second it caught his eyes.
Your fingers brushed the edge of the column as you slowly walked towards the dining table, the multitude of foods that layed along catching your eye, before your stare left to the empty seat in between your father and a young boy you had never seen before.
His curly brown hair and bright brown eyes made your heart skip a beat as you slowly made your way towards the table and your reserved seat. The dopey smile that mindlessly crossed Paris's face lingering on his lips as you approached making you crack a smile.
“Ah, Y/n!” Your father proudly stood up and pointed towards you as you stepped even closer to the table and the multitude of your father’s guests. “Priam!" He turned to the king "Princes of Troy!" He nodded towards them. "I present to you my beautiful daughter, Y/n” His smile almost reached all the way up to his ears as he waited for you to walk to your seat. "Princess of Sparta." He eyed Priam and Hector who were sitting in front of him with a knowing look.
“Y/n.This is Priam, king of the Trojans.” He proudly pointed to the man with pepper colored hair sitting in front of him. “His sons. Hector” the one that was sitting in front of you and slightly bowed his head at your sight. "And Paris.” The young one sitting right next to you nodded his head repeating his brother's actions, his smile sending chills to your spine.
"They’re here to declare peace, Y/n" he explained to you as you took a seat in between Paris and your father. "Sparta and Troy will be good friends." He raised his glass "good allegiances make good friendships." He raised his drink to the fellow king.
“To allegiances" Priam nodded before bringing his cup up to clink it with your fathers.
You reached for a strand of grape, your thoughts being so loud you hadn’t realized Paris was reaching for them too, making you stretch your arm a little further accidentally bumping the prince's cup with your elbow.
"Oh, I’m so sorry." You quickly responded as a coat of red lightened your cheeks, you and Paris’s quick reflexes reaching for the cup at the same time, your hands almost intertwining around the cup.
"No, I am." He replied. "We both reached for them at the same time, don’t apologize for not having room for your elbows." He smiled, both of you still not realizing your hands were still laced together around his glass.
For a split second, you felt the world around you stop. The golden lights of the candle reflecting in his big brown eyes mesmerized you and kept you from looking away, Paris not able to retrieve his stare either. This small moment of peace and connection between the two of you didn’t go unseen by Priam, who even though was deep into a conversation with your father he always kept a close eye on his son.
That night, shatter went one between the kings and the multiple of guests, and your conversation with Paris never seeming to die down.
The laughter that lingered between the two of you went unseen to Menelaus, his preoccupations and ego blinding him to anything happening under his nose. Hector who was sitting right in front of you, going in and out of his father’s convos kept a close eye on you and Paris, an amused smile rising at the way Paris stared at you with his puppy dog eyes.
Bards and musicians quickly took the night’s main attention as the room started rising into a rich party, making your mind light up with an idea.
“How about we go take some fresh air?” You asked Paris as you eyed the room filled with men partying and getting drunk with wine, your father ignoring the look of bordem on Helen’s face, while Priam made small talk with Hector.
“I agree. Let’s go.” He nodded and you slipped away from the room, people barely noticing your absence.
“This is my favorite part of the gardens.” You pointed out as you arrived at an unlit area that looked over the sea. “Be careful.” You grabbed his arm as he was about to take one step closer to the edge of the cliff. “There’s a cliff!” You exclaimed with a puff of laughter as you heard a few rocks tumble down.
“You saved my life.” He breathed out with a prince charming smile making you roll your eyes.
“Saved you from hitting rocks, yes.” You chuckled before grabbing his arm and dragging him further into the dark.
“May I ask where are you taking me?” He questioned as you just kept walking forward.
“You’ll see.” You smiled and dragged him forward, directing him through the many rocks and things that covered the ground. You made a full stop at the tip of the cliff you had walked along, the water being higher than the previous edges, small drops of water occasionally hitting your face as the waves crashed to the coast. You looked at the beautiful sea before removing your sandals, sitting on the edge of the cliff, your feet sometimes brushing the tip of the waves that hugged the rocks.
“C’mon” You patted the ground next to you and it took Paris a second to come back to reality. He removed his sandals too, gently throwing them next to yours and sitting barely inches away from you.
“The sea looks beautiful.” Paris breathed out as he brought his stare back to you, the warm air of the night lingering on your skin.
“It always does around here.” You replied turning to face him again, silence breaking the conversation and for what felt like a few minutes, the world dropped quiet.
The warmth of the air lingered on and the only sound that was heard was the waves crashing to the shore, and some nightly birds chiming as they made their war to their nests.
The world felt as though you and Paris were the only two people in the world as you slowly both leaned in until you were barely inches apart, your breaths mixing with his. Your nose almost touching as your lips brushed together, the wind making you lean in a little closer and finally closing the gap. His sweet kiss sent shivers tumbling down your spine, the cold waves hitting the tip of your toes sending more chills to your body.
~
The next few days ran around back and forth flirting and sneaking around. The rush of the so-far hidden relationship making Paris’s stay on Sparta ten times better than he thought it would have been and the days you spent with him more interesting than your entire life in Sparta.
But as the days went on, the rush turned to love and you felt rocks flop in the bottom of your stomach as the end of Paris’s stay was quickly coming to an end.
Another feast who this time was to bring good fortune to the Trojans on their way back, this time highlighted the end of the short moments you were lucky enough to feel what love was like, ringing the end of Paris’s stay.
“Well look! How about we form a permanent allegiance!" Your father added letting his words be guided by his envy and thrive for power. "How about your fine son Hector, marries my daughter? Wouldn’t that make a fine match?" He patted your shoulder as Paris was about to choke on his water, Hector’s face lighting with an amused grin.
"That would be a smart match Menelaus!" Priam replied which only made the feeling get worst inside all your stomachs. You, Paris, and Hector sharing a confused look. "But I’m afraid I will only accept my sons to marry for love." His wise words sunk into your ears like a spring breeze, making the lumps in your stomach disappear in a snap. "Hector had his eyes on a fine woman back in Troy I believe." Priam eyed his eldest son. "And well Paris..." he let his stare linger between the two of you, his knowing eyes sending a flash of red across your cheeks. "Paris would be of marriage age when they come back to sign the treaties..." he turned back to Menelaus who was holding onto the man’s words like he would hold on to a sword in combat. "Maybe then we’ll see where his heart belongs." He let his words linger in the air before your father let out a stiff chuckle.
"Love?" He laughed again at the fellow king’s face. "Love has never made alliances- Do you think I married my first wife for love?" He let out a new puff of laughter which made you sick to your stomach at the mention of your mother. "Sure she was beautiful! But she ended up dying on me! At least it made Sparta expand!" He horrayed and the ways he talked about his past wife made Helen’s face twist in agony for you. "I remarried Helen, a little for love yes." He pointed out to the woman sitting on the other side of him who handed him a tight smile. "But allegiances matter!" He ended his sentence by lightly punching the table making few things jump.
"Well... we shall see." Priam’s modest words were all he needed to say before he turned his stare towards you and Paris.
"Do you think he knows?" You whispered to the prince that was sitting inches away from you.
"Definitely." He furiously nodded yes. "Your father?" he questioned.
"Nah he's clueless-" you whispered again before eyeing him as he was sitting barely a meter away from you.
"What are you guys whispering about?" Hector chimed in.
You didn’t say a word and ended up pointing to Priam mouthing a ‘he knows’ before waving towards you and Paris. Hector nodded a large yes with his head, the convos of discussing you and Paris’s future behind your backs with his father coming back to his mind.
And as the feast ended, Paris slipped away from you and far off across the sea.
All that time that Paris was away, far from Sparta, the constant reminders that you were husbandless and the subtle sentence of Priam would often subconsciously made Paris aware that you were waiting for him. His love for you clouding his mind almost every day until he could finally make you his.
As he stepped on the warm grounds of Sparta, the sun was high in the sky making the land dry over the day. Paris took a second to admire the blue sky before following his brother, his heart almost beating out of his chest at the thought of meeting your eyes.
“You look stressed brother!” Hector placed an arm around his little brother with a soft chuckle the thought of you making Paris’s head spin making him laugh a little more.
“Not at all-” He chocked out as he opened and close his fist in stress.
Hector looked at him in disbelief for a few seconds before finally stepping into the city, his guards and Paris trotting behind.
“Welcome!” Menelaus welcomed the brothers with a large smile a gorgeous feast already getting prepared for their arrival.
You stood behind your father and nodded your head politely greeting the princes. Your eyes only for Paris you forced every bone in your body to not jump and kiss every inch of his face and feeling his arms around you.
“Y/n” Your father brought you back to reality, making your eyes drift from Paris to him.
“Yes?”
“You’re dismissed.” He simply replied, making your heart sink in your chest. “I shall discuss the peace treaties with the princes, I dare to think you’d be interested in politics.” He let out a puff of harsh laughter, your heart sinking deeper in your chest.
“I would-”
“Not another word!” He raised his hand to stop you. “Go now!”
You relentlessly took a step back as your heart became heavy at the thought of passing a few new hours without the love of your life, your stare lingering to Paris as you disappeared into the castle walls.
You eyed the door of the meeting room, anxiously waiting for the king of Sparta and the princes of Troy to come out. And when they finally did you felt your head spin at the excitement of meeting him again.
You watched Hector finish talking with your father as Paris mindlessly walked behind the two. You smiled as you carefully hid behind the large pillars that made you unseen by the three men who made their way to the dining hall.
In a split second, you grabbed Paris's hand sneaking him behind a pillar. He stumbled in confusion as it took him a second to realize it was your hand leading him into a small hallway.
"Hey." You smiled as you finally met his eyes settling yourself against a wall knowing you were safe from sneaky eyes
Paris didn’t even take the time to reply that he snaked his hands around your waist and smashed your lips to his. You smiled into the kisses that you had missed so much, barely stopping for air.
"I missed you." You smiled as you finally pulled away, feeling as though the air had gotten stolen from your lungs just by meeting his eyes.
"I think I missed you more." He chuckled as he rested his forehead against yours taking in your flowery sent as you both closed your eyes and took each other in.
You kept a few quiet seconds as you stared into each other’s eyes, Paris bumping your nose with his before bringing you back into a few new kisses.
“Paris!” Hector’s voice rang through the hallways as your exchange of kisses became more heated.
“Paris,” You chuckled trying to pull away. “we should probably head downstairs.” You chuckled placing your hand on his torso so stop him from kissing you. “Your brother is looking for you.” You smiled before he pressed once again a new kiss to your lips.
“But-”
“No but’s” You pointed out and let out a loud chuckle which caught Hector’s ears. “We have to go.” You pointed out.
“Alright.” He whined and his grip on your waste became a little tighter. “But on one condition.” He smiled which made you raise an eyebrow. “Marry me.”
His confident words made a small silence fall between the two of you. Your heart did a flip as you thought if you heard his words right, a grand smile creeping on your lips.
“You mean it?” You whispered in disbelief feeling tears start on the verge of your eyes.
“Yes. I swear it by the gods on Mount Olympus. Aphrodite herself could test my love for you and see that I mean those words more than I have meant everything in my life-” He rambled on before you cut him off by a kiss, sealing the question with it as your answer.
“Yes!” You smiled. “A thousand times yes.” You pressed a thousand kisses to his lips as Paris felt the pressure of the question slipping away.
Paris let a trail of kisses on your jaw, falling back to your lips.
“There you are.” Hector’s voice came out from nowhere making both of you jump. “I was beginning to wonder if you two had found each other.”
“Hector...” You cleared your throat, the red from your cheeks getting brighter at every second as you awkwardly looked down. “Hi.” You squeaked and a loud chuckle escaped his lips.
“Your father is waiting for you...” Hector awkwardly spoke up. “He mentioned something about how it’s a shame that I was married, and asked me what I thought about Paris making a fine husband for you.” He smiled before finishing his sentence. “Thought you might be interested...”
Both your eyes went wide and a large smile painted your faces as the words finally hit.
“I think your father approves.” Paris took his stare off his brother and back to you.
You gave him a large smile as an answer, locking your lips with his before slipping out of his grip and grabbing his hand, running with him towards the dining hall. Hector lazily followed as a large smile danced across his lips, the happy feeling of you two being together warming his heart.
You took a full stop in front of the dining hall, fixing the sleeve of your dress hand smoothing out your hair before walking into the large room, your hand tight around Paris’s.
“This is the part where you ask my father to marry me.” You whispered and Paris stood frozen in the doorway at the thought of facing your father.
He gulped as you shoved him towards the table and your father’s seat, his loud laugh not helping the anxiety that rose inside his stomach.
“Paris!” Your father loudly exclaimed as he watched Paris approach the table and you following not far behind. “How would you like to marry my daughter?” He questioned and Paris’s cheeks turned bright red.
“I-” the words caught in his throat as he tried to think of a good answer.
“I know your father wants you to marry for love but we can make it work-”
“Yes.” Paris interrupted Menelaus as he finally got his words together. “There's no need to do anything- I love your daughter sir.” He mumbled with his words.
“Love?” Your father chuckled and your cheeks turned bright red as you approached the conversation.
“I swear it by Aphrodite the goddess of love, I love your daughter more than Zeus loves Hera (tbh I doubt that’s a good thing to say to prove your love for someone shhm-) and if you will let me... I will her make my wife.”

Your touch brought forth an incandescent glow, tarnished but so grand.
Title: Another Taylor Swift song, I used ivy again and I am not sorry.
Pairing: Ivar x Fem!Reader
Summary: Ivar saves you in every way a woman can be saved.
Words: 6k(ish).
Warnings: Alright guys, bear with me cause we're going on a wild ride. Reader gets kidnaped by Harald and he tries to rape her (twice). Nothing happens cause our very own savior Mr. Ivar Lodbrok comes and saves the day. There's smut too, it's reader's first time, and it's Ivar's first time too, It's everything very soft. EXPLICIT, sex and violence, minors do not interact.
A/N: I deleted my other account (stylinsonliving) and all my works will be reposted here, any doubt send me an ask. Guys this is that scene in the Troy 2004 movie where Achilles saves Briseis, every resemblance is not a coincidence and every credit goes to Wolfgang Petersen, the director. My asks are always open: you can request a filthy smut, a relationship advice and my political opinion, I’ll answer to all of it. Feedback is always welcome and my mistakes are always mine.
The first thing you remembered from that night was the pain. As you were dragged out of your hiding place in the church your body drowned in the most excruciating pain you ever felt. You were pulled by your hair like you weighed nothing, that man would grunt like an animal, speak a language you didn’t quite know and look down at you with a scary smile plastered all over his face.
You screamed and struggled but as the seconds went by you learned that no matter how hard you fought you had no chance against him. Once he got tired of your shifting, he punched you hard on the head and everything went black.
A few hours later, the screaming woke you up, you found yourself bound to a tree while those same men screamed and laughed around you. As your heart started to race you noticed when one of them walked over to you, a creepy smirk on his face as he approached furtively until he was in front of you, one hand rested against the tree while the other held a cup. He smelled your hair, then your neck, dragging his nose against your skin while you tried to squirm away.
“Never been in between the legs of a christian woman.” He growled, bringing his wet finger to the cleavage of your chemise, then spilling the liquid on his cup over your breasts. “And I would love to be in between yours.”
He tried to kiss you but you bit his lip, strong enough to open a cut, his blood filled your taste buds and you spat down on the ground as he winced in pain, moving away a little and staring at you angrily. He quickly rubbed his opened lip with the back of his hand before closing it into a fist and punching you on your stomach.
You gasped. The strong man hit your face with more punches before signing to one of his friends to come close. They untied your arms then and dragged you towards the circle of men out there. They screamed like beasts, raising their cups and laughing at your pain. While one of them held your arms on your back, the other ripped your chemise in half, showing off your naked body to their hungry eyes.
“After I have my way with her, you can have her.” The same man who tried to kiss you growled while untying his tunic, but before he could do anything, another voice screamed from somewhere, putting everyone else in silence.
“Keep your cock to yourself, Harald.”
You widened your eyes, staring blankly over that man’s shoulder. Another man, a younger one this time, walked calmly from a hiding place deep into the woods. A small group of people, a few women included, followed him close behind.
“And why would I do that?” The man you learned to be named ‘Harald’ turned on his back and answered with gritted teeth.
“Because I told you to.” His smug face sent shivers down your spine.
“I don’t feel like doing what you tell me to do, Ivar.”
“You say that like I care about what you feel like doing, Harald.” He sighed. “I am very sorry If I gave you the wrong feeling that you have a say on this, because you don’t.”
“Don’t forget you’re out here on my back, little Ivar. The ships out there are mine, most of the men here are mine.” He grunted, grabbing him by his arm angrily. “And I am getting tired of you Ragnarssons stepping in my way.”
“And you have five of us to worry about.” Another insignificant head sign and four more northmen gathered around them and pulled him off of Ivar who pulled his own sword out of his belt and pointed at his neck.
You took that chance to hit the man behind you with your elbow as strong as you could. He released you in surprise but before you were able to run another one grabbed you, hugging you tightly against his chest.
“Take her to my tent.” Ivar ordered firmly. “And you…” He pushed the sword into his skin. “Stay away from her.”
You were calmly taken to Ivar’s tent, your body was treated with a lot more care this time, the man behind you didn’t dare to look at your bare body, covering your shoulders with the heavy fur he had on his hand. Once you were inside, he made you sit down on a pile of other furs gathered on the floor. A minute later Ivar pulled himself in, only then you noticed his legs and his crutches.
“My name is Ivar.” He grunted tiredly while pulling a chair to sit down, shifting in pain. “This is my brother Hvitserk.” He pointed to him. “We are…”
“The Ragnarssons.” You interrupted them. “I heard the stories.”
“We are very sorry for the way you were treated before.” Ivar continued.
“Would you treat me differently sir?” You teased defiantly.
“I just saved your life.” He answered with a knowing smirk.
“With what intentions?” You insisted.
“The intention to save your life.” He shrugged.
“I don’t believe that.”
“Then what are you doing in my tent? You can go out there if you want.”
You didn’t answer that, looked over the tent opening and then down your lap.
“Go find Ubbe and our men.” Ivar dropped on the floor and crawled towards you. “Keep Harald and his dogs away from here.”
“Stop telling me what to do, Ivar.” Hvitserk talked finally and didn’t seem happy.
“So do you prefer to let them in?” He asked impatiently and his brother just grunted. “Bring me that bowl and a rag. You can leave after.”
Once both of you were alone, Ivar took the wet cloth close to your face but you slapped it away. He tried It again, you slapped it again. He tried one more time and you kept slapping It until he gave up and threw the cloth on your face. You took it yourself and started to wipe the stains of dry blood spread on your skin.
“You were brave out there.” He sighed without looking at you.
“Brave enough to defend myself when I am attacked? Even a dog has that courage…” You grunted out, wetting the cloth and once again taking it to your face, cleaning the fresh wounds.
“It’s not easy to do that once you’re held by a bunch of hungry dogs. They hurt and threatened you, still you didn’t make it any easier for them. It takes courage to do that.” He was looking at you while talking, you couldn’t help your wandering eyes to drop onto his legs. “You didn’t expect much help from a cripple, did you?”
“What happened to them?” You dared to ask.
“I guess I just wasn't the gods’ favorite.” He answered while looking at his legs and then back at you.
“There’s only one true God.” You hissed, moving your gaze away from that man.
“To you.” He answered knowingly. “That’s quite a boring statement to me, you know? I truly believe it’s not possible for only one God to look after this whole creation. That would be too much work for only one.”
“There’s no such thing as too much work for God. He takes care of all his creations, we are his children, he has power to take care of us all.”
“Yeah? And where were him while you were out there being hurt by Harald and his men?” He asked with a curious smile. “If you’re his child, why would he let you suffer so much?” You didn’t have the answer for that question, but couldn’t look away from Ivar’s gaze. “See, my Gods would never let bad things happen to their children, but not every viking out there is a son of a God. My father was. And so are we, me and my brothers.”
“You just said you’re not your gods’ favorite.”
“You saw my men looking down as I walked past them, didn’t you? That wouldn’t happen to any cripple.” He grunted once more. “I might not be the gods’ favorite, little one, but I’m certainly part of the good ones.”
You spent the next few days hiding inside Ivar’s tent. Hvitserk and a girl called Torvi would come in with food and water for you during the day, Ivar would come back by night and a man would always stay outside whenever you were alone. You didn’t feel like a prisoner, but never felt free to go either, not alone at least.
Every night you would watch while Ivar slept peacefully, snoring softly with one hand on his naked chest and the other under his head, never paying any mind to you, leaving his knives and weapons at your reach. Every night the idea crossed your mind, taking one of those knives, taking his life and running back to the city, back to Wessex and your old life, but that seemed so far away that you would always brush the thoughts away.
After days of sleeping only a few hours your body was giving up already, couldn’t bear to stay awake, but could never rest when sleeping, never letting yourself to lay down all of your defenses. Until one day, the silence outside gave you no warning about the abrupt pull on your ankles, your body was dragged outside the tent through the muddy ground until you felt his weight on you, his half naked body dragging over yours and the bad smell of ale coming out of his mouth.
“Little bunny got all alone tonight, what a pity.” He grunted while messily kissing your neck.
“Release me!” You mumbled, trying to push him off of you, struggling with your legs trying to avoid him between your thighs. “HELP!” You screamed as loud as you could.
“Keep screaming… I like that.”
You heard when he, once again, ripped your new chemise appart, his muddy hands staining your untouched skin, rubbing painfully. The drizzle turned into a full on rainstorm, the noise swallowing your screams when he finally made It between your thighs, taking one of his hands between your bodies. Once again, he tried to kiss you and you bit his lips as strong as you could, sticking your thumbs on his eyes and making him roll off of you in pain.
Without giving It a second thought, you ran. You ran as fast as you could through the woods, hearing while the drunk viking ran right after you, feelin the broken branches piercing through the skin of your feet, looking behind your shoulders trying to keep an eye on the man behind you. You ran for what felt like an eternity until you bumped into something, into someone and when you raised your eyes you couldn’t help but feel relieved.
“Ivar.” You mumbled, tugging at his armor, nuzzling into his body, hugging him tightly like he was your life line, the only thing keeping you breathing. You didn’t even notice the group of people surrounding him, when he wrapped you under his arm everything else vanished and all you could sense was him and the strange sense of safety he brought to you.
“What happened? What are you doing out here?” He asked, worry all over his tone as he grabbed the back of your neck, his body trembling while trying to keep you with one arm and hold the crutch with the other. “What happened, little one?”
You didn’t have to answer, Harald finally reached you and you felt Ivar’s body stiff against yours immediately. You turned your head a little looking at Harald over your shoulder. Then you hugged him tighter, hiding your face into the crook of his neck, closing your eyes and trying to completely erase Harald from your mind.
It took a few minutes of silence until Ivar hopped up his chariot with you under his arm, the storm was getting stronger by the minute and you refused to let go of his body. Still holding onto him, as Ivar left with the carriage, you looked around quickly, in time to see Hvitserk and Ubbe dismount from their horses and head towards Harald, you closed your eyes again and leaned into Ivar’s body, hugging him until you reached the camp.
He didn’t say anything, but every time you shook in fear, he hugged you tighter. Once you got there, both of you left the chariot behind with another man, and headed to his tent as fast as you could. He couldn’t hug you while walking, but he made sure to hold your hand until you finally entered the tent. Before you could say anything, someone else showed up and Ivar’s features immediately hardened.
“Ivar…” He started, but was interrupted just as fast.
“Out.” Ivar grunted under his breath, the young man looked at you, a silent plea before walking out. “Stay inside.” He ordered firmly to you before following his man out.
Your eyes followed him, the little spaces between the tent fabric showing half of the scene that was unwinding outside.
“What happened?” You heard as he asked angrily. “You left her alone?” He shouted.
“I got distracted for a moment and…” The young man stuttered in response.
Before he could finish, Ivar pulled his sword from his belt and moved towards him, you yelled in panic:
“No!” You jumped out of the tent towards Ivar grabbing his forearm before he could cut the poor man’s throat.
“What are you doing?” He yelled at you.
“No more killing!” You yelled back.
The storm was unrelenting, and even though It was hard to see, you watched as the adam’s apple on Ivar’s throat went up and down, as if he was carefully thinking about his next words. Your body was the only thing between Ivar and that man, you were his only protection.
“What are you talking about?? It’s his fault Harald almost…”
“It’s nobody’s fault but Harald’s. And even If It was his fault, his death wouldn’t change what happened.” You insisted. “I don’t want anyone getting killed in my name.”
“You should be honored.”
“Innocent blood spilled for nothing, there's no reason to be honored. I won’t be an excuse for another man’s death!”
Ivar looked at you like you were insane, but gave up eventually, dropping his sword and sighing loudly. He then pushed you inside the tent and looked over his shoulder before following you inside.
“I wonder if I had Harald under my sword you would have the same reaction.” He mumbled while starting to untie his upper body’s armor. “Not so innocent blood, right?”
“It’s not your right to take any man’s life.” You mouthed, crossing your arms around yourself. “He will be punished for his sins.”
“You seem very certain about that.” He grunted as he pushed his soaked tunic over his head, showing off the wounds on his chest. You looked away, turning your back at him. “I could use some help.”
“I can’t. You’re naked.” You answered shyly.
“Isn’t your god teaching you to help the ones in need?” You heard as he fell with a tud on the chair, a tiny whimper following right after. “I’m the one in need at the moment.”
“You can do it by yourself. I saw you do it by yourself before.” You insisted, looking over your shoulder discreetly and finding his sparkling blue eyes looking right back at you. You shivered, turning your face again.
“Yes, but before I wasn’t coming back from a battle. I’m wounded, little one.”
“I can’t… I can’t!”
Another muffled laugh sent shivers down your body, you heard while he struggled with the crutches, next thing he dropped on the ground and crawled over the makeshift bed, only in his trousers, as always. After sitting over the furs, he cleaned himself a bit before laying down completely, covering his body and protecting himself from the cold.
“You should take off these wet rags.” He grunted, looking at you.
“I don’t have anything else to put on.” You whispered in response.
He laughed again, a humorless laugh as he looked at you in disbelief.
“You don’t have anything to worry about, little one. There’s nothing working down my waist. Even If I wanted to do anything with you, I wouldn’t be able to.”
“I-I… I don’t believe you.” You looked at him with widened eyes.
“I guess you won’t be sharing the bed with me either.” He mumbled with a smirk.
“You know I won’t.”
“That’s a pity. It’s very warm down here.”
It didn’t take long for him to fall asleep, only then you went to your corner, sitting down on the ground hugging your own legs against your chest, trying to stay warm. Either way, after the first hour your trembling body won the battle against your morals, you got rid of the ripped off rags and carefully laid down under the covers, right next to Ivar.
Your body warmed up almost immediately and you finally stopped shaking. You turned to your side, trying your best to keep some distance from Ivar but keeping an eye on him. He sighed suddenly and your body stiffed, scared he might try anything with you, but he just moved both of his arms under his head. You looked at him shyly, curiosity taking the best of you while you tried to understand what every figure painted on his chest could possibly mean.
“You’re staring.” His voice startled you.
“I-I thought you were sleeping.” You mumbled shyly.
“I was. You woke me up.” He turned his head to look at you, a grin plastered on his face.
“I am… Sorry.” You swallowed hard.
“Come.” He growled, pulling you into his arms, your naked chest pressed against his.
“What are you doing?” You snapped, pushing him away from you.
“Warming you up. Stop pushing me, I told you nothing can happen between us.” He insisted, but you kept pushing him away until you turned on your back, reaching for the knife he had left on the floor and quickly putting It against his neck.
“Killing me It’s a terrible plan, little one.” He whispered, his hands pressing against your back while you kept the knife against the skin of his neck. “But that’s your decision. So… Go ahead.”
Ivar raised his head giving you enough space to slit his throat If you wanted to. Your hands were shaking, your heart was racing against your chest and your breathing was erratic, you stared at him in panic.
“You’re insane.” You whispered.
“So I've been told.” He answered, moving his neck until the knife crossed the first layer of skin, a thin line of blood oozed down his neck. He then lowered his head, catching your gaze with his, a knowing grin spreading all over his face.
You didn’t notice he was moving, not until his lips touched yours softly. At first you freezed, widened your eyes staring blankly into his, but then you parted your lips a little, letting the viking suck your lower lip into his mouth. He pulled away, he seemed as surprised as you were.
“Will you take this off of my neck, little one?” He asked, and you nodded, pulling the knife away. “Let me kiss you again…” He inhaled, nipping at his bottom lip with a hopeful look, his eyes locked on yours.
Slowly, you pulled away a little, relaxing the grip around the knife. Ivar rolled off of you, laying on top of you, his thigh bending between your legs while his hands grabbed at your waist. He kissed you again, parting his lips and waiting until you parted yours so he could deepen the kiss, his tongue slowly massaging yours until he distracted you enough so he could take the knife from your hands and throw It away.
That was your first kiss and you blindly followed his silent commands, repeating his moves a little awkwardly. Ivar pulled away only when he had to breathe, and you followed his face with your eyes closed, yearning for his mouth. You didn’t see the smile forming on his lips before he kissed you again, grabbing your arms and putting ‘em around his own neck.
The weight of his chest kneading on your breasts was slowly making you ache between your legs and his thigh pressing against your core wasn’t helping either, every flex of his muscle sent shock waves through your body, your hips moving on its own accord seeking uncontrollably for the new sensation he was bringing to you.
Without noticing, Ivar started to do the same, grinding against your thigh, his right hand searching between your bodies until it found your breast, kneading at the flesh, teasing your nipple with the tip of his fingers.
When the air became thin again, Ivar dropped his lips to your neck, starting to suck purple marks from your sensitive skin, making you shudder. Your hands found his braided hair and you let slip the tiniest moan, dragging a low grunt from his throat.
His sinful mouth kept his tour down your body until his lips latched at your nipple, sucking and teasing the little nub until it became pebbled and did the same with the other, sucking it into his mouth like a newborn baby.
Ivar opened your legs with his hips and, giving no time for you to protest, licked down your belly until he found your core, latching at your wet folds, sipping at your juices like the finest, the sweetest wine. You widened your eyes at the new feeling, arching your back on the bed as you gripped the furs under your body.
“Ivar…” You moaned shyly. He didn’t stop, starting to suck on your clit feverishly, making you gasp.
He kept sucking on you, messily sucking on you until you were dripping through the corners of his mouth, you could sense your core getting wetter and wetter by the minute, a weird coil on your lower belly started to form and you felt like you needed to go to the bathroom. You tried to pull away from his grip, but both of his hands held your hips in place and you felt his tongue enter you, you moaned loud, calling his name, closing your eyes as you buckled up against his mouth.
“Ivar!” You called again, still trying to push him away.
Your legs started to shake and as the coil snapped you pressed his head between your thighs, moaning loudly when you reached your peak without actually knowing what had happened.
Ivar kept licking on you for what felt like an eternity, before stopping to look at you from down there. You closed your eyes and covered your face feeling utterly embarrassed. You felt as he moved but then he stayed quiet, you looked between your fingers just to see him in awe staring at his own cock. Curious, you finally uncovered your face and sat down, looking at him with a frown.
“It never happened before.” He murmured, still looking at his up and proud cock, head an angry shade of red, leaking profusely down his length. “It ne-never…” He raised his eyes to stare at you, eyes widened.
“What?” You asked in shock, eyes focusing on his impressive size.
“My cock. It never… Worked before.” He whispered, reaching for your hand, pulling it until you touched him. “I made you cum and got hard…”
“Be-because… Because of… Me?” You blinked, looking at him while letting him move your hand up and down his length.
Ivar closed his eyes, lips parting as he sighed heavily. You looked at him, feeling strangely proud of yourself. Your fingers slipped easily, he was wet and hot against your palm, and as he moaned softly, all you wanted was to keep dragging those beautiful sounds from him. But all of that was completely new territory for you, an open field, you didn’t want to hurt him.
“Ivar… H-help me… I don’t know what… What to do.” You whispered shyly, making him open his eyes, his beautiful, sparkling, glossy eyes staring down at you like you were some kind of treasure.
“You don’t…” He gasped as you pressed your fingers around his girth. “Have to… Oh Gods…” He moaned again, eyes now focused on your hand.
You smiled to yourself, releasing his cock and crawling over to him until you were sitting on your calves, right by his side. You raised your hand to touch him again, but he stopped you.
“Sit on me.” He commanded, hands on your hips trying to pull you in.
You widened your eyes, scared. You kneeled on the furs as he held your hips, opening your legs trying to make you straddle him. You held onto his shoulders for balance and grunted in fear.
“Wait… Wait… Ivar…”
He stopped and looked at you, he seemed just as nervous as you were. You swallowed hard, tears gathering on the corners of your eyes. You blinked scared and his grip loosened a bit, only then you felt his hands shaking.
“I’m… I’m sorry, little one.” He breathed and was about to release you when you held his hand.
“Won’t be comfortable for you…” You murmured shyly, moving away from his lap and kneeling beside him again, he blinked confused. “Can you… Can you lay down, please?”
He nodded, moving over the furs until he laid down completely. You took a deep breath before straddling him again, you were wet enough to drip onto his hard cock, either way Ivar licked his fingers and touched you, smearing your juices with his saliva, making you even more wet. With his other hand he held his length, lining It with your center, your hands on each side of his head, eyes focused on his waist.
“Look at me.” He asked and you obeyed, looking up at his face. “Are you sure?”
“Just… Just… Just… Wait a second…” You took a deep breath before closing your eyes and nodding.
“But I need you to look at me.” He begged, his voice was trembling just like his hands. You obeyed, looking down at him with hooded eyes.
Slowly, you began to sit down on him, the head of his cock pressing into you, opening you. You bit on your lower lip, the stretch burning against your walls as he slowly entered you. When he found a thin barrier he stopped completely, holding up your hips .
“Ivar…” You whined, looking at him with glossy eyes.
“Hug me.” He asked and you nodded, moving down on him until your head found the crook of his neck, hands on his shoulders.
He kept you in place for a few more minutes, your walls hugging tightly around him while he used all his strength to wait for your time, he didn’t want to hurt you, not too much at least. Your heart was beating fast and loud on your head, you were breathing rapidly, frantically.
“You’re doing so good for me.” He mumbled, lips finding the skin of your shoulders as he started to suck brand new marks on you. Taking his kisses to your neck, Ivar moved your hair from his way, starting to lick on your sensitive skin, doing his best to distract you again.
You started to moan, absently moving on your hips, your walls fluttering around his girth. You kissed him, holding his face, letting him push you down a little more. You whined against his lips, breathing heavily as he kept pushing you down until he was balls deep into you. Both of you parted the kiss so you could moan loudly, Ivar closing his eyes as he felt your walls gripping him like a vice.
“Oh gods… This is…This is Valhalla…” He groaned.
Your vision was blurred by your tears, you never felt that full before, or that vulnerable. Ivar’s hands started to run up and down your sweaty back, whispering praises into the shell of your ear like prayers to a god, to a goddess. His hips started to buckle, his throbbing cock twitching inside you as your walls shuddered and your hips started to grind down, unconsciously meeting his timid thrusts.
“That’s It, little one, that’s it.” He mumbled in awe, both of his closed as he pressed you against his body.
Ivar covered your shoulder skin in kisses, thrusted up into you very slowly, waiting for you to meet down with your hips. Your cries were muffled against his neck, but as the burning sensation started to fade, your body started to seek the same feeling he brought to you with his mouth.
With your hands on each side of his head, you raised your upper body, unconsciously pressing your hips down even more, the new angle making the head of his cock nudge against a spot inside you, you had no idea was there, but sent electric shock waves through your body and dragged a loud mewl from your throat. You did It again, rolling your lips until you found that same spot, Ivar’s hands finding home on your hips letting you move the way you wanted.
“You’re so beautiful…” He whispered, looking at your throbbing slit. “So beautiful, little-oh-little one…”
Ivar moaned, one of his hands leaving your hip to knead on your breast, your hands quickly meeting his, covering them while you started to move a little faster. Your eyes rolled back into your skull, the feeling on your lower belly started to show up again, making you roll your hips faster. You felt when his hand snaked around your neck, squeezing softly. Your breath hitched and you gasped, his free thumb met your throbbing clit while you began to bounce up and down on his cock.
It was like your body knew exactly what you needed, while your brain went completely blank except for Ivar’s name, your hips circled, rolled and bounced naturally. Both your hands clung to the one he had around your neck, the coil on your belly became tighter and tighter by the minute and the mewls escaping through your parted lips mixed with Ivar’s grunts, filling the tent and probably soaring outside too.
“Ivar…” You started but got cut off by one particularly deep thrust, moaning softly.
“I know. I got you, you can cum on my cock. Make a mess for me, please.” His pleas came out as a broken cry, the sound went straight to your core, the coil snapped finally and you felt yourself clenching down on his cock. Ivar followed you close behind, a warm liquid spurted inside you and dripped down your core onto his cock and pelvis.
With your eyes closed, you fell on his chest, breathing heavily while he hugged you tightly, one hand on your head, caressing your hair while the other pressed down on your back. You stayed like this for a moment, Ivar’s cock slipping out of you after a minute or two. His chest went up and down against yours, rapidly after first, but then slowed down and yours followed.
Ivar moved under you and you squealed in surprise, moving your head to look at him, at his neck to be more specific. He looked down, his eyes meeting yours making you blush and hide your face on the curve of his neck, avoiding his gaze. He laughed softly.
“No need to get all shy on me now.” He whispered, moving the strands of hair from your face.
“It’s easier saying it than doing it.” You answered, still hiding.
He laughed again, keeping his hands on your body and for whatever reason, none of that felt wrong, quite the opposite. But you still didn’t know what to say, your brain started working fast, seeking for the dark side of that, of him. Slowly you became scared of the future.
“Am I still your prisoner?” You asked after some time.
“You never were.” He answered quickly. “But…”
“But what?”
“I don’t want you to go. I’ll be sad if you go.”
You finally looked at him, he looked back. Ivar seemed so young and vulnerable, far away from the scary man you were used to seeing.
“I want you to stay, little one. Stay with me.” He begged, hand meeting the side of your face and you unconsciously leaned into his hand.
You didn’t answer right away, after a moment he fell asleep and you finally found the courage to run away, you grabbed one of Ivar’s tunics and ran, making room for yourself through the woods until you finally reached the gates of Wessex. The guards saw you and immediately opened It, your fiancée jumping down the stairs until he reached you on the floor, pulling you in for a hug.
“Thank God you’re safe.” He whispered. “I thought I lost you forever!” He grabbed your face with both of his hands, leaning his forehead against yours.
Everything you knew was different then. Your hometown, your fiancée, your life. Looking into his eyes didn’t bring you any comfort or sense of safety, not as you found with Ivar. He looked at you for a moment before frowning.
“What did they do to you?” He asked angrily.
“Nothing.” You answered, holding his hands and pulling them away from your face. “I just need to go home, please.” You whispered.
He then covered your body that was half naked to protect you from prying eyes and walked you to the house you lived with your sister. Your parents had died years before, living both of you by yourselves, as soon as you got there she hugged you tightly, crying softly on your shoulder.
“I’m so sorry!” She whispered on your neck. “I shouldn’t have left you alone in the church.”
“It’s past now.” You tried to calm her down.
“Come, I’ll help you clean yourself.”
You said goodbye to your fiancée while she prepared a bath for you. As soon as you entered the wooden tub, the stains of blood between your thighs turned the water slightly pink. Your sister saw It but didn’t say anything, helping you to clean yourself completely. Moments later, you were sitting on your bed, covered in a clean dress while she brushed your hair.
“Are you alright?” She asked shyly and you just nodded in response.
As soon as you found yourself alone, you looked out of the window of your room, the night started to paint the sky a dark shade of blue that reminded you of his eyes. You felt deeply empty, for whatever reason, Ivar was the only thing on your mind. You looked around, none of that felt as familiar as his arms, as warm as his bed. You hugged yourself, feeling dirty, tears gathering around your eyes as you found yourself missing him.
Later, the screaming outside your house woke you up and just like you felt the drops of the rain on your skin on a stormy day, you felt his presence. You got up, sat up on your bed and looked out of the window again. The impulse was uncontrollable, you just left. Ran through your door, towards the noise because you knew he would be there.
When your eyes found his, the sparkling blue lit up under the dim light of the fire surrounding him. He surely seemed like a god bringing chaos into your lull. He seemed hurt, he looked at you angrily at first, but then the relief painted down his features.
Your fiancée grabbed you by your forearm, dragging you through the mess of screaming people while you struggled to get released, you screamed but he didn’t seem to hear you. For a moment you gave up until you heard his voice, right behind you both. He approached in his chariot, crossing in front you and stopping you in your tracks.
Ivar didn’t say anything, he looked at you. He looked at you and for the very first time you felt truly seen. He offered you his hand and without a second thought you jumped into his chariot, straight into his arms. He then smiled at you, beautifully, dragging a smile from your lips before kissing you feverishly.
“Let’s go home, little one.” He whispered against your lips, before leaving all that mess behind.

"It's okay I couldn't sleep anyway" you look at the night sky as he stands beside putting his hand on your back "Why do you love me?" you stare at the floor as he looks at you confused "Why do you ask that?" he gently lifts your head to look at you kissing your forehead then your nose. "I love you for you, I have loved you ever since I saw you when we were kids in the lake in the sunrise, I fell in love with you when I saw you helping the poor, You may not see it but you're my heart and till you can see the raw beauty that lies within you, I'll be the reflection of your soul" he kisses your cheeks and soon the two of you were in a gentle, affectionate, and loving kiss leading to kisses down each other's body, I love you's and words of cherishment, and sleeping in each other's arms hours later when you wake up smiling at him pressing a kiss to his chest "You are my heart too but you are my life and as long as I have you I will never treat myself bad again" you go back to asleep on his chest as he opens his eyes smiling wrapping his arms around placing a kiss on your eyelid going back to asleep a second later.

The 20 Best Star Wars Books of All Time (Canon and Legends)
With the recent reveal of the Star Wars: The High Republic mixed-media series, now seems like a great time to look back on the novelizations, stand alones, and book series that have been an integral part of building the rich and expansive universe that we know and love today.
The first Star Wars novelization was released six months following the premiere of Star Wars: A New Hope. Ghostwritten by Alan Dean Foster, but credited to George Lucas, Star Wars: From The Adventures of Luke Skywalker was the first venture into worldbuilding beyond the cinematic universe.
Over the course of forty-three years, nearly five hundred books have been added to the Jedi Archives, uh — I mean the Star Wars library. In 2014, almost four hundred of these novels were decanonized by Lucasfilm to refocus the canon around The Walt Disney Company’s restructuring of the franchise.
The Expanded Universe was rebranded as Star Wars Legends, but it was far from forgotten by its fans or the authors of the new canon novels.
The Ten Best Star Wars Legends Books
Heir to the Empire by Timothy Zahn (1991)
You would be hard-pressed to find a fan of the Star Wars Expanded Universe who doesn’t love Timothy Zahn’s novels. He introduced us to beloved characters like Mara Jade and Thrawn.
Set five years following The Return of the Jedi, Zahn kickstarted the Expanded Universe with an enthralling story that followed the continuing adventures of Luke Skywalker, Princess Leia, and Han Solo. Grand Admiral Thrawn attempts to track down a pregnant Princess Leia, while Luke Skywalker faces off with the smuggler Mara Jade (who just so happens to be the former Emperor’s Hand).
It is by far one of the best stories in the Expanded Universe.
The Han Solo Adventures (Trilogy) by Brian Daley (1979-1980)
Daley’s series recently returned to Star Wars discourse after High Republic author Cavan Scott tweeted out his current reference material for another project.
The trilogy follows Han Solo and Chewbacca through their days as smugglers in the capitalistic Corporate Sector, as they uncover a slaving ring, rescue kidnap victims, and face-off with a religious cult.
If you loved Solo: A Star Wars Story, you’ll love this trilogy.
The New Jedi Order: Vector Prime by R. A. Salvatore (1999)
Set twenty-one years following the destruction of the Death Star, Salvatore did the unthinkable in Vector Prime. Sanctioned by George Lucas himself, the character death depicted in this novel is the only original series character to die in the Expanded Universe.
It is the first novel in a nineteen-book series entitled The New Jedi Order. While this novel sacrificed the life of a beloved character, it also introduced the villainous race of the Yuuzhan Vong.
The original trilogy characters are paired off with the younger generation (the Solo children) throughout the novel, before converging at the crux of a devastating battle.
Star by Star by Troy Denning (2002)
The Yuuzhan Vong continue their ruthless campaign throughout the galaxy, leading Anakin Solo to concoct a dangerous plan to thwart their attacks. Denning’s novel delved a devastating blow for the Solo family as their youngest son Anakin Solo sacrificed his life to buy time for the rest of the team to kill the voxyn queen and escape from the Vong.
This is a book filled with death and destruction, and it proves to be a real page-turner.
Dark Journey by Elaine Cunningham (2002)
If you love Jaina Solo, then the tenth novel in The New Jedi Order series is the one for you. Dark Journey follows Jaina as she struggles with despair and her need for revenge following the death of her brother Anakin Solo and the Vong’s capture of her twin Jacen.
They retreat to the Hapes Cluster, where they encounter the grieving Teneniel Djo and the familial struggles of the Hapes. The Former Queen Mother attempts to arrange a marriage between Jaina and Prince Isolder — an offer Jaina rejects.
Enemy Lines (Duology) by Aaron Allston (2002)
This pair of novels can easily be read as a singular story. It follows Luke and Mara Jade Skywalker, Han and Leia Solo, Lando Calrissian, Wedge Antilles, and Jaina Solo as they respond to the Yuuzhan Vong’s capture of Coruscant.
Wedge is a stand-out character throughout this novel, and I believe this characterization is one of the reasons that he remains a beloved minor character. The rebellion’s determined efforts lead them to a victorious battle on Borealis, though the Vong are far from defeated.
Shadows of the Empire by Steve Perry (1996)
This novel was Perry’s contribution towards the ambitious mixed-media series (also called Shadows of the Empire) created by Lucasfilm in 1996. The series included both a novel and junior novelization, a comic book series, a video game, action figures, a soundtrack, trading cards, role-playing games, posters, and so much more.
Set between The Empire Strikes Back and Return of the Jedi, the novel introduced readers to the Black Sun criminal overlord, Prince Xizor, whose primary motivation is to seek vengeance against Darth Vader. He does that by plotting to murder Luke Skywalker once his heritage is revealed. It’s a brilliant book that can be read as a stand-alone or as part of the mixed-media experience.
Survivor’s Quest by Timothy Zahn (2004)
Three years following the marriage of Luke Skywalker to Mara Jade, the couple struggles to balance their marriage and their duties as Jedi. Led by an urgent transmission, they journey together on a quest to locate the remains of the Outbound Flight expedition, which had been destroyed by Grand Admiral Thrawn on the planet of Niruan decades ago.
Expecting to find a graveyard of destroyed Dreadnought ships, they are surprised to find intact vessels and signs of life among them. Luke and Mara Jade come up against the vicious Vagaari to rescue the survivors of the errant Outbound Flight project. If you love Mara Jade and Luke Skywalker — this is the novel for you. They are at their best when they’re working together.
Black Fleet Crisis (Trilogy) by Michael P. Kube-McDowell (1996-1998)
Sixteen years following the end of the Original Trilogy, Kube-McDowell’s novel picks up with an era of peace for the New Republic. This trilogy of novels sits somewhat outside of the canon of The New Jedi Order and X-Wing series and provides a slightly different approach to the beloved heroes of the universe.
Chewbacca returns to Kashyyyk to be with his son; Luke works towards higher Jedi enlightenment in a self-built hermitage on Coruscant. Unlike other novels that focus on the characters and their arcs, this series is more focused on political and military plots.
The story follows the genocidal campaign of former Imperial slaves, referred to as Yevethan forces, as they seek to conquer the Koornacht Cluster.
This story deviates drastically from what we know about Luke and Leia’s mother, Padmé, thanks to the prequel trilogy, as Luke travels to the planet Fallanassi to learn more about his mother’s homeworld. Overall the trilogy makes for a great Star Wars story.
Wedge’s Gamble by Michael A. Stackpole (1996)
Wedge Antilles and his X-Wing pilots, the Rogue Squadron, plan to infiltrate the Imperial High Command controlled Coruscant. Still, first, they free the imprisoned Black Suns criminals in hopes of bringing down the Empire.
The story is a race against time for the rebels as they work to take down the planetary shields protecting Coruscant. In the process, allies are lost, and a traitor is discovered among their ranks.
It’s the second novel in a ten-part series and proves to be a fast-paced read.
The Ten Best Star Wars Canon Books
The Last Jedi by Jason Fry (2018)
Of the three novelizations included in the Sequel Trilogy era, Fry’s work stands out. He masterfully adapted Rian Johnson’s screenplay, Star Wars: The Last Jedi, and shed new light on aspects that may have been lost to the casual viewer.
The book provides readers with a look inside the heads and hearts of nearly every character seen in the movie — which genuinely enriches the story.
Star Wars: Bloodline by Claudia Grey (2016)
The novel delves into the ramifications of Senator Leia Organa’s heritage, as trusted allies turn against her at the revelation that she is Darth Vader’s daughter.
Grey delivers an incredibly poignant look into Leia’s psyche throughout this ordeal as well as how she handles balancing being a mother and a senator.
Star Wars: Resistance Reborn by Rebecca Roanhorse (2019)
If you were not overly thrilled with the dynamics between Finn and Poe in The Rise of Skywalker or were hoping to read more about Leia’s last days with the Resistance, this novel is a surefire favorite. Roanhorse truly knows these characters inside and out, and she brings a fresh, exciting adventure to bridge the gap between the Battle of Crait and the Resistance’s base on Ajan Kloss.
Leia works diligently to rally the forces after their defeat at Crait, which brings the familiar Inferno Squadron members, Shriv Suurgav and Zay Versio, into the picture. An interesting element of the novel is the recruitment of defecting Imperial forces that are welcomed into the Resistance. Overall the stakes are low in the story, but it still manages to deliver a memorable read.
Last Shot (Star Wars): A Han and Lando Novel by Daniel José Older (2018)
Created as a tie-in to Solo: A Star Wars Story, Older’s novel covers five storylines told in five parts with a mix of flashbacks between Han Solo and Lando Calrissian as they face a new threat by an old foe.
It also covers aspects of Han’s marriage to Leia, as well as his relationship with his young son, Ben Solo — which helps readers understand how things fell apart by the time The Force Awakens occurs. If you loved Daley’s Legends series about Han Solo, you’ll love Older’s novel.
Star Wars: The Aftermath Trilogy by Chuck Wendig (2016-2017)
The trilogy expands the extensive period between the end of Return of the Jedi and the start of The Force Awakens. Wendig introduces readers to Norra Wexley and her teenage son Snap Wexley (later seen on screen) and delivers an engaging storyline for Wedge Antilles.
The story follows the New Republic as they work towards defeating the remaining members of the Empire. This series also introduces Emperor Palpatine’s Observatory on Jakku — an exciting piece of foreshadowing for The Rise of Skywalker.
Star Wars: Thrawn by Timothy Zahn (2017)
The first in a series of three novels, Zahn returns to Star Wars and reintroduces Grand Admiral Thrawn to the Star Wars canon. The story begins with the exile of the Chriss warrior, Mitth’raw’nuruodo (Thrawn), and follows his path to the Empire alongside Imperial Cadet Eli.
Thrawn offers to serve Emperor Palpatine in order to protect his people. Throughout the novel, Thrawn’s calculated tenacity allows him to climb the ranks within the Empire, ultimately rising to the position of Grand Admiral. Thrawn is a fan-favorite, and this series is just the beginning of his storyline.
Catalyst: A Rogue One Novel by James Luceno (2016)
If you watched Rogue One and wanted to know more about Orson Krennic or Galen Erso, this is the novel for you. It covers Erso’s research into the energy kyber crystals under the Celestial Power project and follows his concerns as he realizes his research might be used for something devastating.
It’s an interesting approach to members of the Empire and shows the duality among the ranks and the inner confliction at the advent of the Star Destroyer. Familiar faces like Tarkin and Saw Gerrera also appear in this novel.
Battlefront II: Inferno Squad by Christie Golden (2017)
Golden’s novel follows the members of the Empire’s elite team of soldiers, the Inferno Squad, as they deal with the ramifications of the theft of the Death Star plans. The central characters, Lieutenant Iden Versio, Lieutenant Junior Grade Gideon Hask, and Lieutenant Commander Del Meeko, are all featured in the EA Game’s Star Wars: Battlefront II.
Versio and her team are tasked with eradicating the remaining members of Saw Gerrera’s Partisans, newly reformed as a terrorist cell known as the Dreamers. Gideon and Del infiltrate the Dreamers, while Iden is arrested for alleged sedition after intentionally revealing her disillusionment towards the Empire — which leads to the Dreamers rescuing her.
It’s not often that we get to see how members of the Empire fully believe that their actions are the right actions, and this novel delivers.
Alphabet Squadron by Alexander Freed (2019)
The first of a trilogy of novels focused on a group of New Republic pilots. The series crosses over with Marvel comic series Star Wars: TIE Fighters and has a forthcoming sequel novel Shadow Fall arriving in June. The book explores the costs of war in the wake of the Battle of Endor as it follows Yrica Quell, an Imperial defector.
Freed introduces readers to a colorful group of pilots (featuring X-Wings, U-Wings, and Y-Wings) who react with different degrees of suspicion when Yrica joins the squadron. It’s a compelling piece of fiction that is rooted heavily in the military aspects of Star Wars and strongly reminiscent of the 1990s X-Wing series.
Star Wars: Ahsoka by E.K. Johnston (2016)
Dave Filoni created Ahsoka Tano for the animated series Star Wars: The Clone Wars, and she quickly grew into one of the most beloved characters from the Prequel Trilogy era. The young adult novel starts with Ahsoka during the Siege of Mandalore and explains how she came to adopt the pseudonym Ashla after fleeing to the remote Outer Rim Moon, Raada.
In the shadow of the growing threat of the Galactic Empire, Ahsoka works alongside Bail Organa and the Rebellion to evacuate the at-risk villages on Raada. Obi-Wan Kenobi also appears in this novel and struggles with the grief of Anakin’s betrayal as he remains in hiding on Tatooine. Overall it’s a great novel exploring an aspect of Ashoka’s life that had yet to be explored.
The final season of The Clone Wars is currently airing on Disney+.

I hope reader will find happiness in these arms 🙏
In These Arms - Achilles x (Fem) Trojan!Reader
Warnings: Paris dumped the reader for Helen before she gets to meet Achilles. Includes break up angst + discussion of cheating.
Summary: Heartbroken and publicly humilliated after being abandoned by Paris, you seek peace in the promise of giving up on men without realizing the consequences of his actions would find you one last time.
Turned into a war prisoner and handled to the leader of the myrmidons, the unusual comfort of your master offers you a second chance.
Note: Inspired by two prompt lists by my dear friend @alysinwonderland-at-tea
Angst list - Prompt 4 " Everyone told me you were going to break my heart. I should have listened to them. "
Fluff list - Prompt 2 "I think about you. Ceaselessly."

If everyone else in Troy had reasons for sorrow, on top of theirs you were the most damaged. The man you loved had returned home bringing someone else on his charriot. A stolen queen, woman you didn't have the slightest chance of comparing yourself to given the charm of her famously inhuman beauty. Even when Paris never made any expressed promises priorly, love confessions had once been mutually retributed and you believed in that.
You trusted him going against the advice of many people who attempted to warn you. His own brother had told you that no matter how much he spoke of it, Paris knew nothing about love. Blinded by your feelings, you didn't care, and it turned out the worst mistake of your life.
" Everyone told me you were going to break my heart. I should have listened to them. "
It took you all the strenght you had left not to cry, but at that moment of confrontation it was him the one sobbing in front of you.
" I never meant to! Dear, what I felt for you was real … But it wasn't true love, and I had no way to tell the difference untill I meet Helen. "
You couldn't believe the excuse that was being given to you.
" It was for me, Paris … and because of you I think I will never love again. I gave you everything, but turns out all I am wasn't enough. "
The assumption seemed to have offended him.
" You know I don't mean that! Please, try to understand! "
" What's left to understand? You betrayed your homeland and you betrayed me. You too deserve each other, indeed: a cheater for a cheater … Lovely couple to doom us all! And me the first."
He gave you a hurted look, as if after what he did he still cared for your forgiveness.
" My heart breaks for you, and i am ashamed of myself for the pain i'm causing you … But what can shame do to stop the intensity of love? I would have never accompanied Hector to Sparta if I would have known there I would fall like this for someone else. I couldn't return pretending nothing have happened, and making you live a lie would have been even more unfair than this. You deserve better, I still hold good feelings for you. I swear it on these arms that had comforted you countless times before. "
Paris attempted to pull you closer for a hug, but you stopped him ríght away.
" You humilliated me in front of the entire city! And how strongly I wish I could get granted the mercy of never seeing you again, but Troy is not big enough for that. Blessed is the king of Sparta, who gets the ríght of spreading hate without having to see his wife in the arms of other man every day! Me, instead? I get doomed to watch you smile happyly from afar in the balcony of the palace alongside your mistress for the rest of my life. Do you call that justice, Paris? If that is your mercy, I would rather get your hate. "
In the most twisted way possible, the gods granted at least one of your wishes.
Promising yourself to never love another man ever again after your first love had ended so bitterly, you took the first step into the only path allowed for a woman in your position. With the help of Briseis, who remained your friend despite what happened with her cousin, you seeked to get choosen to take vows in her temple. It was a quick way to restitute your honor in the public eye and be left alone as well. Unfortunately, you didn't get to even try on the priestess robes before the concecuencies of Paris' actions reached you once more.
Greek warriors brought to avenge the husband of his new lover destroyed the temple, killing the priests and taking you prisioner. You would never get to see the great city of Priam again and, despite the sorrow you felt when thinking of your family, that also caused you a dark sense of relief. Because of Paris you have lost everything, even the most bassic of goods such as your freedom. Only after loosing so much, of hitting rock bottom, you had a real chance to be free of him.
Enslaved to Achilles, but liberated from everything you were before, the worst part was having to stand the provocations. The myrmidon enjoyed himself attempting to seduce you, but wasn't forcing you into his bed, and that worked good enough for you in that context.
At one given time you did found his teasing going too far, and only then you became fully honest with him.
" Why did you choose to love a god? I think you will find the romance one sided. "
It made your blood boil, even if you could tell he spoke to you like that because he had no idea of who you were despite knowing your name. Achilles believed to be teasing a priestess and in the discoverment of his mistake you ended up laying eyes on him for longer than you should.
He was wearing the same type of long egyptian styled robes Paris would typically wear in the domestic environment, keeping arms and shoulders covered while fully exposing the torso. It was matched with the same sort of long skirt made of light fabrics opened at the side for more cassual expousure. You could vividly remember he wore a black outfit almost identical to that one during the first night you made love.
And yet, that man looked nothing like him. His sun kissed skin and the sculpted muscles were as contrasting as his blond hair and blue eyes.
" I have choosen nothing, fate forced me to seek shelter in the cult of Apollo after being abandoned by the love of my life. I told myself that, if i could never love again, I could at least give my devotion to the regent god of my city. Because of you I never got to become a priestess, so now i'm a double spoil: rejected for marriage and dragged out of the temple. "
Although standing ríght in front of you, disbelief faded some of the cockiness.
" You won't be rejected here, that's a promise. I had a minor altercate with Ajax because we found you so pretty we both wanted to keep you."
He sat on the ground ríght next to you and observed you with tenderness before taunting you once more.
" Did I ruin your life, or arrived just in time to restaure your faith in men? I don't understand how a girl like you could think of running to hide inside a temple instead of getting herself a better man. "
You answered with the truth, but carefully crafting enough disdain.
" There was nothing I could have done to keep him with me when the competition was the most beautifull woman in the world. The majority of men would have done the same, and that's why I have choosen not to believe in any other ever again. "
Achilles wasn't expecting to find out he was struggling for the attention of the woman that the trojan prince had left behind in his pursuement of the spartan queen.
" Will all mankind pay for the crimes of Paris? That bastard is not even a man. You are so much better without him, consider that perhaps the queen has made you a favor. If he is your reason to give up on men, I have to say it's quite offensive for the rest of us. "
You could tell where his speech was coming and you tried to stop him.
" You would have given me to Ajax if Briseis wouldn't have ran away. I didn't left with her only because I have nothing left to live for. Living in Troy is unbereable for me, but at least here I don't have to worry about seeing them and that's the only perk i expect. Don't try to pretend you could be any different, specially when I'm here because you couldn't find any other more beautifull slave girl to claim yours. "
His hand was then on your face, lifting up your chin so your eyes won't leave his as his thumb caressed your lips.
" I think of you, ceaselessly. If there is any daughter of trojan judged more beautifull than you, I don't need to know and I don't care, because I want you over any other. "
Your hand followed his and pulled down, rejecting his contact.
" Sweet lies won't win me over, not this time. "
It frustrated him, but wouldn't make him desist.
" Would you believe me if I bring you his head on a spear? I can make him cry a painfull death to pay for your tears. Whatever vengeance Menelaus dreams of would be called mercy compared to what I can do to that trojan bastard in your name."
The strange rush of passionate defense encouraged you to reveal yourself.
" Revenge is not on my interest, all I want is to forget. Can you make me stop thinking of the first man who made my heart beat? The moments when we were happy still haunt me like a disease of the spirit, but then I remember someone else occupies my place now and it's like my heart gets eaten raw inside my chest. Pain and regret is all I have for you, son of Peleus. Paris drained me of anything else. "
Achilles got rid of his black robe and wrapped your shoulders with it.
" One night in my arms is all i think that would take me to vanish the memory of that fool from your mind. You haven't yet been loved by a real man: whatever he gave you would taste like few once you would have tasted me."
The fabric was still warm from the contact with his skin and he was holding both sides of it on top of your chest in an attempt of wrapping you tighter.
You didn't try to escape him that time and he used the new proximity in his advantage to trap you in his strong grip, pushing your body against his.
" In this arms you will find happiness again, if you allow me to show you how good I can do just for you. "
