Ok so if we believe the last leaks, Galadriel will be saved three, no! FOUR times by a man in the last two episodes :

In the tent, Elrond gives her a pin to escape Adar

Outside, she's attacked by two Orcs she's perfectly capable of handling by herself, but thanks goodness, there's Arondir to save her

She jumps off a cliff but Sauron, who's apparently a Jedi now, uses the Tokien equivalent of the Force to stop her fall

But apparently despite that she needs serious healing (???), and is saved by Gil-Galad who uses Nenya.

Oh and let's not forget that her best friend may or may not be secretly in love with her and platonicaromantically kissed her.

The user on Reddit who leaked the kiss between Elrond and Galadriel said Sauron and Galadriel will not kiss in the finale. Sauron will flee to Mordor and that is how the season ends.

yada yada yada, isn't it a bit late to try and fear-monger with last week's fake leaks?

First of all, the 2x07 kiss leak didn't originate from reddit and it was never just one person spreading it, in fact several sources on multiple platforms claimed it was going to happen. And when that's the case with spoilers, I've long since learned that they're usually true, no matter how nonsensical they seem. And having now seen it, part of me thinks it was allowed to leak online only because it's so irrelevant.

Secondly, the spoiler about Sauron fleeing as a shadow was confirmed as fake first by someone who actually worked on the show and then by others who've recently seen the last episode! Again, if reliable sources say a leak is fake, then it's definitely fake. So sorry to disappoint you, anon, but they're not going to do a rehash of the S1 finale. And rest assured that Haladriel will not only survive but continue to thrive after the S2 finale, no matter if they kiss or not because their dynamic will still be the beating heart of TROP!

I'm afraid the only thing fleeing to Mordor as a shadow will be the lorebros after this show makes Haladriel canon!

Elrondriel - First Elf to Elf intimacy

While I ruminate on a fanfic I’m currently outlining, I thought I could get out my thoughts through this way because its going to be long possible two year wait before we are back into the world of TRoP. However, I’d like to preface that I pinged the chemistry between Elrond and Galadriel from their first ever meet in Season 1 and had I not been swept by Haladriel, I probably would’ve been shipping them fulltime then. The chemistry was taut in Season 1 and its even more apparent and greatly so in Season 2 with the culmination of a kiss that I don’t think anyone would’ve guessed or believed despite the leaks (I certainly didn’t).

I don’t care to interpret this as platonic, I’m not sorry. You can throw as many of the interviews as you can but actors can and have lied before, I’m well experienced with this. In actual text in the show, this scene is presented with the full fanfare of longing and romance down to the music cues. Yes, it had a functional reason of providing cover, but Elrond is smart. He could’ve done a number of things before a kiss on the lips no less. A kiss on the forehead, the cheek, corner of the mouth even. Had the chemistry not been there, this onscreen kiss would’ve been fallen flat and not much anger towards it would be this high but people can recognise the level of chemistry between. The level of intimacy between Galadriel and Elrond is only second to the actual onscreen romantic couples we’ve seen in the show and movies.

An analysis:

I think people don’t realise that the kiss between Galadriel and Elrond is the first elf to elf romantic intimacy we’ve seen onscreen. Between the PJ movies and TRoP, we’ve seen Dwarf/Elf and Human/Elf romances which have been depicted as the peak of star crossed lovers separated by immortality and time — of which Elrond’s heritage is a product of that and his descendants continue to be in the far future.

The arguments (of cope) I've been seeing proclaiming that's how elves platonically say goodbye to their friends is very paper thin against all depiction of Elvish intimacy where its been clear that kisses are romantic, an expression of agape.

We've seen it with Aragorn and Arwen:

Kili and Tauriel:

The first time we could've gotten Elf to Elf intimacy was in the Hobbit films with Legolas and Tauriel but we see an explicit rejection from Tauriel to Legolas for Kili and despite how close they were (though separated by rank), we could've seen the proposed platonic goodbye kiss but we didn't and we know why.

Okay, maybe the kiss is an outlier but physical closeness is surely the norm, right?

Not really, even under the guise of close friendship, Elrond and Galadriel remain outliers far closer and leaning to romantic. No other elves than them two interact the same way they do.

You'll see a familar scene of this

Their physical closeness (there's never a space for Jesus!), exceeds far beyond of other elves and their friendships, even for Elrond and Durin and its been consistent

Even when they're angry at each other, it doesn't stop or impede their physical closeness. This is not a one time thing, but a consistent effort between them you don't see with the other elves.

This doesn't just stop in the show, but also in the movies. The chance to depict interaction between a married canon Elven couple and it was cold and distant between them.

PJ didn't care for Celeborn clearly but he could've easily had him in here taking on the role that Elrond is doing for his MIL :) But his omission is pointed and you have Elrond fulfilling that instead.

If you didn't know the history or lore about them, I guarantee most would've assume they're together

The fandom needs to touch some grass and stop seeing celeborn or celebrian in any random character. It’s annoying tbh :/ That's why I don't really want them to appear on the show

celeborn is missing, celebrian is not born yet. celebrian will either 1) not be introduced in the show at all bc her presence will be a reminder that elrond is her babydaddy and that would be too weird for the gen audiences to consider 2) have a minor background npc role that she does in the lore but only after a time-skip in s4/5.

right now, c+c have nothing to do with anything happening in the show.

honestly, i'm this 🤏 close to muting the words "celeborn"/"celebrian". it's so boring and tiring to constantly see the discussion be about them instead of the actual story whenever a new episode drops that has a focus on haladriel/galadriel.

and i don't want to mute "elrond" but all of us need to chill, the whole who kisses who speculation has gotten too frustrating for everyone. there are only 3 eps left, we will find out soon enough. so far the only actual narrative we've been getting is that galadrel is shaken to her core by her taboo feelings for sauron and sauron is obsessed with her. so why do we talk more about the speculative scenarios than the actual plot?

either way, we know the lorebros demand c+c and spread fake e/g kiss leaks bc they want to "end" sauron x galadriel relationship. well, galadriel is still fighting sauron while she has a family and sauron is still groping to see her in lotr. with trop context, we can say they do the mutual obsession thing till the end. neither c+c nor elrond will save u from the villainfuckery, lads.

Ok, the way this all thing was phrased gave me “Game of Thrones season 8 leaks” vibes for some reason (I was around for that, and oh boy). I don’t know if this was copy-pasted from somewhere, or if it’s anon theorizing, but I’m inclined to believe the first. If that’s the case, it’s fake. There are no real leaks, and this is S2 top secret scene. If it’s a theory, this scenario is underwhelming and anticlimactic.

And it gave me Star Wars episode 9 leaks flashbacks ! Different franchise, same trauma 😭

Why do I always see people saying that armored Galadriel is not faithful to Tolkien when in fact she is ?

In memories Galadriel is described as very tall, very strong in battle, extremely wise, of great beauty, etc.

Then who on the other side criticizes Galadriel for being a fucking Mary Sue in ROP... ?

The same girl who is stubborn, never thinks, who the characters yell at and who literally gave hope to SAURON ?! Has an inclination for power ! Like, if it's for her enormous, extraordinary abilities... she's a fucking elf ?!

Oh, and that Galadriel is good at fighting is no surprise if you look at Tolkien's writings...

If it was adapted to the letter of what Tolkien had written for Galadriel people would also cry mary sue ! From @motziedapul : "he described Galadriel as Amazonian, "man-maiden" and excellent in athleticism on top of generally being one of the most powerful Elves in Middle Earth and being the favorite of an angel [Maia] who she lived with for a while."

Also, the only one who seems to me to have understood that Sauron was a first-rate scammer when he was among the elves.

Galadriel was around 2 meters tall, much taller than the other Noldor women. (Which gave her the name Nerwen meaning young girl man by her mother. Her father had first named her Artanis which meant noble ladies. Galadriel was the name Celeborn gave her) She was vigorous in body as well as in spirit, capable of standing up to anyone in terms of knowledge as well as physical skills. She also always had the gift of clairvoyance, allowing her to read the hearts and minds of others. Her great beauty was recognized by all the Eldar and her hair was considered a wonder of this world. It would also be the gold and silver reflection of Galadriel's hair which would have inspired Feaonor for the creation of the Silmarils. For all these reasons, she was quickly considered the most illustrious of the Noldor. She had also quickly learned everything the Valar had been willing to teach her.

Don't make me believe that if we had an adaptation of the character of Galadriel including all of this, people wouldn't be also screaming at the mary sue ?! Dare to say it ! Because it’s just obvious they would have done it !

Which does not mean that Galadriel is a mary sue in the original story, since she has her defaults in the canon of Tolkien too, notably once again an inclination for power, which is expressed by the desire to have one's own kingdom and its temptation almost until the very end of Sauron's Ring, etc.

The antis Galadriel people are ridiculous. To say that she's a mary sue and that that makes her unbearable is stupid. They clearly don't know what a mary sue is for say she is one... Then there are those who complain that Galadriel has too many flaws, so please confirm that you just can't stand women who are perfect saints. I'm really fucking tired of the Galadriel critical.

They don't understand the character of Galadriel.

For them, the canon Galadriel is simply a sort of figure of purity like the Virgin Mary, but a powerful magician in addition.

And sorry, but Galadriel is not that. Oh at least she's not just that.

This. Honestly, I’ve seen all matter of hateful shit written and vlogged about TROP’s Gal and even worse about Miv. These assholes have called her too ugly, a bad actress, accused her of blaspheming their own (incorrect as you point out) ideas of Galadriel. And this misogyny goes back awhile. Let’s not forget that PJ’s FOTR had some leaks early on that Arwen would be a fighter and….the purist dudes lost their EVERLOVING MINDS. Bear in mind, this was just based on set pictures. So PJ scrapped that altogether and it was written out. And that was one of the earliest examples of writers and producers changing their course due to hateful fan feedback (*cough*Star Wars*). PJ had had a free pass ever since.

To your point, not only is Gal all of those things you listed but she’s also ALOT older than Legolas was in LOTR so yeah, she’s fucking good at fighting. And when Legolas parkoured down an oliphaunt’s trunk none of them said shit.

And what are the actual whereabouts of Morgoth's crown at the end of Ep 7. Like, you'd think Adar would want it if he was making a last charge toward Eregion to take Sauron down, but clearly he wasn't packing it. It's possible Gal smuggled it out under her large Uruk cloak, but then where would she have hidden it in the meantime? Is it really possible that the magical crown needed to kill the maia is just... sitting in its little storage box???

I just need to know how all the People and the Objects are gonna make it to the same place in like the 17 minutes of screen time that's gonna get allotted to tying up Eregion because we all know the Harfoots are gonna get THE OTHER 45. 😡

start of lore; okay so I was doing G&G the other day and unlocked the order aeon's, ena, story. so in the aeon war, ena and qlipoth had a deal, right? (mind you I'm writing the names from memory I can't SPELL NWNSHSHSJ) qlipoth would get rid of the swarm and ena would deal with another aeon, oroboros I think, I'm not sure. but when the time for the deal had come, xipe rised to aeon-hood, and since the order clashed with the harmony, xipe absorbed ena if I remember correctly. end of lore.

so the thing I'm getting at is Sunday being so detached from the harmony, trying to keep the harmony in order. thinking that his sister is the embodiment of harmony and he's the exact thing on the other end of it's spectrum.

and with all the christian/biblical motifs Sunday has (sorry if whatever I'm saying might come as offensive as I am not christian or religious as a whole) like the thorns and angelic-esque powers he has, heck, his name is Sunday. and religion is all about order, if you're out of a certain box, don't fit into line or stereotypes, the religious religious people might call you out or pick on you for being different (I don't know about most of the world, but that's pretty much how it is in my country), so Sunday just seems like he'd bring about disharmony. pretty sure there was a leak saying it's not Sunday but an emenator, but still, Sunday pulled some crazy stunts all in order to keep the harmony in order.

he's very well written in my opinion, I'm waiting for him to become playable in all honesty to read his character stories.

I often bully him but, all jokes aside, I think he's very interesting character. While having rather complicated feelings towards Christianity, I'm a huge fan of the Christian motives in art and media so I'm waiting for 2.2 like its a full-course meal.
