December 3rd 6:39pm
So Tassy was great! I didn't exactly have high expectations as it's not really the crowd I usually run with but I did meet some great people regardless. Absolutely beautiful place, just green mountains on every horizon and massive bush lands surrounding the whole city of Hobart. I met a big bear of a dog named Devil who had the sweetest woos. Stole a trolley to taverse our gear. Ended up playing two shows, one on the first night in a beautiful warm coloured pub. We headlined that night too. The second was the last night at an afterparty at someone's house in the middle of the bush. It's where I wrote and posted my last post. I did take home covid though, I've been feeling fine with it, just a mild cold for me this time.
I saw so many bands, didn't wear mutes for all of them. I wore my mutes for the forst gig we played but took them out because I couldnt hear properly hahah. Almost blew my ears out too haha. They were pretty open places to perform at so it was ok. I think I was standing for over 48 hours all up and fucked up my lower back, Terry- I mean Tassy turned my back into a loose stack of pebbles.
I'll post a couple photos that I took, and some from my mate Esso (who takes amazing photos btw and plays amazing music too) Also I'll post some from another gig we played, cause I think I should be more proud of it so I can enjoy it more idk. I've been feeling conflicted with performing recently. I don't know if it's me changing or if it's just because I'm a bit more hyperfocussed on it at the moment.
I wish she could have been there, it would have made it easier to look up when playing haha. I don't really get nervous from playing anymore but i always just look at my hands, i guess looking at people while playing makes me nervous. You would have loved the first place we played at, such a warm vibe pub, that had DAYTONA hahaha. And it would have been great to be with you in the bush by the fire on the last day. We also saw many cider breweries, Tasmania makes great cider. Although I still felt alone there surrounded by all those people I still had a good time. I was able to explore Hobart a bit on my own and saw the whole of docks surrounded by mountains and opening to the ocean. Almost like a fjord. They had so many public electric scooters that were actually taken care of, which is super rare in Sydney haha. Also went through a street market, I fucken love those haha. So many great handmade things and the obvious cheap crap lol. Great gin too, so many gin distelleries, though my favourite is Hendricks from Scotland.
There was a Lil drama, though no band trip would be without them I guess. I shared a room with my bandmate, and he brought a girl into the room to hook up with one night, while I was there trying to sleep! I was lucky they were so drunk I think they forgot to actually fuck hahaha. Omg the snoring from both of them lol. But thats ok.
I hope these posts make you comfortable, your posts aren't too long, I actually like them long (lol) it give me more insight into what's going on with you and how you're doing. I am becoming a stronger version of myself than you last saw and knew don't worry. I often think about what you do during the day and how you're feeling, so reading for a while is nice. I love that you're writing music again, you were always so creative and talented. I saw your post with some and they are soo good, poetic and beautiful. Thank you for your kind words, you show me more support than most of the people around me. I will continue down this path, I feel stronger than before.
You described some things about yourself too and of course I would still like you how you are because you're you, it's not hair or clothes or glasses or tattoos that make you you, it's that beautiful mind of yours. Although you know how I feel about tattoos hehe. I have some now too, just a couple but I want sooo many more. Taking a break from dying your hair to let it heal is a good thing and I'm glad you did it, I wouldn't want you to turn out like me and lose it haha. Nah you won't. I know how much you love red hair and I want you to be able to continue with that for longer in your life.
I listened to Pistol when it came out too, and as with all of Cigs I thought of you first. I love that you saw Pale Waves and I love the video you posted. I remember seeing them years ago and talked to you about them, I'm so glad you got to be in their presence too.
I've learnt so much over these years, though I still don't know if I deserve love, I don't hate myself as much. And I don't drown in the guilt. Ive had to suffer to get here but really who doesn't to get to better version of themselves. I'm just so glad you're still around and so happy I'm still in this world at the same time as you. With the direction the Artemis missions are going hopefully we can go to Mars, or the Moon one day too.
And of course I still listen to that stuff, hearing your voice is so soothing and I love that you still listen to the stuff I sent you. I've been working on more music too, I have four songs pretty much done, two need lyrics and real drums recorded but place holder samples do well (witht he amount of time I spent tweaking them they better haha) and one I need to re-record because it's important to me and annoying to play ahah. I might upload the demos on soundcloud soon.
I hope this post isn't too long or intense. I was smiling like an idiot reading yours, I didn't realise how much you remembered of me.

Truck Hire vs. Buying a Truck: Which Is the Better Option?
When it comes to moving heavy loads, transporting goods, or facilitating business operations, having access to a truck can be essential. However, the decision of whether to hire a truck or invest in purchasing one outright can be challenging, especially in a bustling city like Sydney. Both options come with distinct advantages and disadvantages, depending on your needs, budget, and long-term goals. In this article, we’ll explore the key factors to help you decide which option – truck hire or buying a truck – is the better choice for you in Sydney.
1. Cost Considerations
One of the most important factors to consider is cost. Truck hire in Sydney offers a flexible, cost-effective solution, especially if you only need a truck occasionally. You can hire a truck for a few hours, a day, or even longer, without the burden of long-term expenses like maintenance, registration, and insurance. Many businesses and individuals find this option particularly appealing when they need a truck for a one-off event or a short-term project.
On the other hand, buying a truck comes with a significant upfront investment. In addition to the purchase price, you’ll need to budget for ongoing costs like fuel, servicing, repairs, and insurance. However, if your business or personal needs require frequent use of a truck, buying might be more economical in the long run. For example, delivery services or construction companies that rely heavily on transportation may find that owning a truck offers more value over time.
2. Flexibility and Convenience
Truck hire in Sydney provides unparalleled flexibility. With a wide range of truck types and sizes available for rent, you can easily find a vehicle that suits your specific needs. Whether you’re moving house, transporting equipment, or delivering goods, you can select the right truck without worrying about storage, upkeep, or depreciation. This is especially useful for businesses with fluctuating demand or for individuals who only need a truck on an occasional basis.
Additionally, truck hire companies typically offer add-ons such as GPS systems, moving trolleys, and insurance coverage, making the truck rental experience more convenient. For businesses or individuals who prioritize flexibility and adaptability, truck hire is an excellent solution.
Conversely, buying a truck offers less flexibility but gives you full control. You own the vehicle, so it’s available at your disposal 24/7. For businesses with consistent transportation needs, owning a truck means you can handle deliveries or transport tasks on your schedule. While buying a truck lacks the convenience of accessing different sizes and types for different jobs, it ensures that your vehicle is always ready when you need it.
3. Maintenance and Responsibility
When you hire a truck, the responsibility for maintenance and repairs lies with the rental company. You don’t need to worry about unexpected breakdowns, costly repairs, or servicing, as these are typically covered in the rental agreement. This can be a huge relief for businesses and individuals who prefer to avoid the hassle of vehicle upkeep.
On the other hand, owning a truck means you are responsible for all maintenance, repairs, and upkeep. While this gives you more control over the condition of the vehicle, it also adds to your operating costs. Regular maintenance is essential to ensure your truck runs smoothly, and any unexpected repairs can quickly become expensive. However, owning your own truck allows you to customize it according to your business needs, which might be an advantage for some industries.
4. Depreciation and Resale Value
When you purchase a truck, it immediately begins to depreciate. The value of the vehicle decreases over time, especially with frequent use, and this can be a drawback for business owners looking to maximize their investment. Additionally, the cost of selling a truck when it’s no longer needed may result in a financial loss, particularly if market conditions aren’t favourable.
In contrast, truck hire eliminates concerns about depreciation. Since you’re only renting the vehicle for a short period, you don’t have to worry about its long-term value. This makes truck hire an attractive option for those who don’t want to deal with the financial risks associated with depreciation.
5. Availability and Access to Newer Models
Truck hire companies in Sydney often have a fleet of newer models with the latest technology and fuel efficiency. By renting, you can access these updated trucks without the expense of purchasing a new one. This is especially beneficial if you want to ensure that you are using the latest models for safety, fuel efficiency, or client perception.
When you buy a truck, it may not always be feasible to upgrade to a newer model, especially if the one you own is still functioning well. Truck hire allows you to have access to a variety of vehicles and newer technology whenever needed.
Conclusion: Which Option Is Right for You?
Ultimately, the decision between truck hire and buying a truck in Sydney depends on your specific needs. If you require flexibility, and occasional use, and want to avoid the costs of maintenance and depreciation, truck hire is likely the better option. It provides convenience and adaptability without long-term commitments.
However, if your business or personal needs involve frequent, consistent use of a truck, and you’re willing to manage the costs of ownership, buying a truck might offer better value over time.
Consider your transportation needs, budget, and long-term goals before making your decision. Whether you choose to hire or buy, there are plenty of options available in Sydney to meet your truck-related needs.

One such restaurant is Yum Cha Project, which opens at Grosvenor Place in the Sydney CBD on August 8. Aiming to set itself apart from more traditional Chinese restaurants, it will pack takeaway dumplings in pizza and hamburger boxes, and Peking duck pizza will be available as a side order.
“I don’t want this to be another luxurious Sydney Chinese restaurant,” says owner Howin Chui. “I want to be like Guzman y Gomez, an Australian brand growing domestically and internationally.”
The restaurant has 50 seats, much smaller than the huge traditional yum cha restaurants, and there will be no yum cha trolleys or long waits for tables, only large stacks of steamers and quick delivery. Customers will be able to order yum cha by the piece, rather than overloading on a whole basket of a single type of dumpling.
Chui is similarly confident there is a wider revolution taking place in the Chinese restaurant market. He points to a growth in niche players, such as the recent explosion of Irish Chinese food in Sydney. At venues such as Paddy Chans in Kensington (a Newtown branch is on the way), Chinese food and hot chips co-exist in a dish called a “spice bag”.

The Ultimate Guide to Choosing Order Picking Trolleys
For warehouses, efficiency is king. In the age of e-commerce and lightning-fast delivery expectations, smooth order picking is the cornerstone of a successful operation. And at the heart of this process lies the humble order picking trolley.
The right trolley can make a world of difference. It can streamline workflows, improve picker productivity, and minimise errors. But with a variety of options available, choosing the perfect fit for your Sydney warehouse can be daunting.
This guide will equip you with the knowledge to navigate the world of order picking trolleys Sydney and select the ones that propel your warehouse to new heights of efficiency.
Understanding Your Needs
Before diving into specific features, take a step back and assess your warehouse's unique needs. Consider factors like:
Warehouse layout: Tight aisles? High ceilings? Knowing your space constraints will guide you towards trolleys with appropriate dimensions and manoeuvrability.
Inventory profile: Do you deal with bulky items, small parts, or a mix of both? The ideal trolley should accommodate your product sizes and weights.
Order picking method: Batch picking, zone picking, or something else? Different methods favour trolleys with varying configurations for optimal picking efficiency.
Budget: Trolley prices vary depending on features and materials. Determine a realistic budget that aligns with your needs and long-term goals.
Trolley Types: A Sydney Picking Smorgasbord
Now, let's explore the different types of order picking trolleys available:
Multi-level trolleys: Perfect for maximizing vertical space, these feature multiple shelves or baskets for picking a variety of items at once. Ideal for warehouses with high ceilings or dense inventory.
Wire mesh trolleys: Lightweight and highly visible, these trolleys offer easy access to picked items and are perfect for warehouses with good ventilation needs.
Solid shelf trolleys: Provide a sturdy platform for heavier items and minimise product damage. Consider them for warehouses dealing with bulkier inventory.
Tilt bin trolleys: Bins on these trolleys can be tilted for easy access to parts, ideal for warehouses managing small components.
Order picking carts: Highly maneuverable carts with flat shelves or baskets are great for picking a small number of items or navigating tight spaces.
Beyond the Basics: Key Features to Consider
Once you've identified the most suitable trolley type, delve deeper into specific features:
Wheel type and material: Polyurethane wheels provide a good balance of durability and quiet operation, while pneumatic tyres are better suited for uneven warehouse floors.
Brakes: Essential for safety on inclines or uneven surfaces.
Handlebar ergonomics: Look for comfortable, adjustable handlebars that minimise picker fatigue.
Load capacity: Ensure the trolley can handle the weight of your typical order.
Durability: Invest in trolleys built with sturdy materials like steel for long-lasting performance.
Customizability: Some trolleys offer adjustable shelving or modular components for a perfect fit with your picking process.
The Sydney Supplier Advantage
When sourcing your order picking trolleys, consider partnering with a Sydney-based supplier. They'll have a deep understanding of the local market and can offer:
Tailored advice: Sydney suppliers can assess your specific needs and recommend the most suitable trolleys for your warehouse.
After-sales support: Local suppliers are readily available for maintenance, repairs, and spare parts, minimising downtime.
Compliance with Australian standards: Ensure your trolleys meet all relevant safety and occupational health regulations.
The Final Tally: Selecting Your Sydney Order Picking Chariot
Choosing the ideal order picking trolley isn't a one-size-fits-all approach. By carefully evaluating your warehouse requirements, exploring different types and features, and leveraging the expertise of Sydney suppliers, you'll be well on your way to selecting the perfect chariot for conquering your order picking challenges. Remember, the right trolley can be the secret weapon that propels your Sydney warehouse towards efficiency, accuracy, and ultimately, happy customers.

The World is 4ull of Stuff
It's time for another long-winded, attention-seeking post to remind myself social media exists, and keeping in the spirit of last month's venture into Saturday morning nostalgia, decided to look back on another turning point in Australian pop culture history from exactly 30 years ago. Yeesh, this had better not become habit forming.
While locals across the land counted down the remaining few days before they flocked to witness an adventure 65 million years in the making, another world of adventure opened its doors for the first time on 19th August 1993. A world gargantuan in scope bounding with flashy colours and near-limitless opportunities for youthful imagination. A world guaranteed to leave boys and girls' heads spinning with ranges and prices on a scale almost inconceivable. A world... 4 kids!
This multimillion dollar project had been a long time coming for the Coles Myer group. And who could blame them? Their combined retail output at the time controlled a staggering 40 percent of all local toy sales, and with the nation slowly finding its feet after a crippling recession, saw an opportunity to cash in.
Such aspirations resulted in Coles Myer hitting hard and fast with intense production and marketing campaigns. Stores soon flowed with stock under long leases. Commercials and letterbox advertisements bombarded homes. They shamelessly boasted that unlike other stores, World 4 Kids was number one in a field of one. Oh sure people could visit other smaller chains like Casey's, Toyworld or Uncle Pete's, but this? This was an event. *The* toy store with *the* unbeatable prices and everything a kid could ever want under a single roof. Well, except for the ever elusive Thunderbirds Tracy Island playset and Grape Escape board game.
From that very day the first World 4 Kids opened its doors on the fourth level of Sydney's Chatswood Chase, a plethora of cherished memories would be forged. Be it running around with tiny trolleys or donating old toys for their in-store recycling program (both of which have since become the norm for a number of large retailers), many kids shouted with glee at the prospect of walking home with their first Nerf. First Barbie. First Biker Mice. First Cabbage Patch Kid. First Action Man. First Littlest Pet Shop. First video game.
But while ol' Globey greeted every shopper with a big green smile, the bean-counters gradually saw nothing but red. As the years rolled on, Coles Myer were hit by loss after loss, struggling to keep the franchise open. Perhaps they tried too hard? Or underestimated a frugal buying economy who preferred saving their spending until Christmas?
Or it was simply a case of envious corporate greed catching up after hoping to nip their former business partners and distinguished competition in the bud before they set up shop? Whatever the reason, World 4 Kids swiftly led to a near-decade long battle for the ages between two parties, with many independent stores caught in the crossfire.
But that's a tale saved for another day. In the meantime however, how strange it feels to (quite literally) revisit a few of said memories. Indeed Chatswood Chase was the first store to open, but Coles Myer had initially planned to kick things off in Penrith of all places. Situated on the corner of High and Station Street, this outlet was poised, primed, ready to be their flagship store... until a last second decision by upper management wanted it somewhere closer to Sydney's CBD.
Having made the pilgrimge across the M4 on what turned out a rather mild weathered early Saturday morning, it's quite astounding the building remains intact to this day. Being separate from a shopping centre undoubtedly had its advantages. For exactly two years World 4 Kids called this little corner of the Riff home before moving to Riley Street opposite the back of Penrith Plaza. That particular site was lucky enough to be one of the final shops standing until 2002 when it eventually became a Supre outlet (with some of the original décor left intact) until Westfield demolished the whole block several years later to expand said Plaza. In its place is an outdoor fooderie.
As for this old site, it too has shared quite a coloured history. The instant World 4 Kids left the premises, Spotlight took over and expanded to both ground and lower levels complete with upper enclosed car park. They persevered for many years until a new shopping centre opened on Mulgoa Road saw them move by the late-2000's. Nobody wanted to lease the massive floor space, so they cut the lower level off and made it a separate business. Trade Secret eventually chose the top floor, and the bottom remained vacant until Paul's Warehouse stepped in by late 2013. Losing the overhead carpark by early 2017 came as a blow, and even Paul's expanding to include rejected goods from the US didn't help. Neither store made it to the decade's end.
World 4 Kids may be long gone, its history stripped and buildings either renovated or destroyed, but for many Aussie kids and teens growing up in the 90's, was nothing short of paradise. It brought countless smiles and paved the way for some modern shopping experiences. It created memories to be proud of, even if none of us were aware of the tumultuous cavalcade of chaos behind the scenes.

ChatGPT's takeover of the Web could ultimately hit some snags. Whereas cursory interactions with a chatbot or its Bing search engine sibling (cousin?) yield benign and promising outcomes, deeper interactions have generally been worrisome. That is not the case with the brand new Bing GPT-driven information getting it unsuitable — though we have seen it may possibly get it unsuitable early on. Fairly, there have been instances the place AI-powered chatbots have fully damaged down. Lately, a New York Occasions columnist Had a dialog with Bing (opens in new tab) Which left them deeply unsettled and informed the Digital Tendencies author “I wish to be human (opens in new tab)” throughout their hands-on with AI search bots.So the query arises, is Microsoft's AI chatbot prepared for the actual world? Why ought to chatgpt bing be launched so quick? The reply seems to be a powerful no on each counts at first look, however a better have a look at these examples — and certainly one of our personal experiences with Bing — is much more disturbing.Bing is actually Sydney, and he is in love with you (Picture credit score: Microsoft)When New York Occasions columnist Kevin Rouse first sat down with Bing, the whole lot appeared superb. However after every week with it and a few prolonged conversations, Bing revealed himself as Sydney, a darkish alter ego for the in any other case cheerful chatbot. As Rouge continues to speak with Sidney, he (or she?) admits to desirous to hack the pc, unfold disinformation, and ultimately confesses to Mr. Rouge's personal need. The Bing chatbot then spent an hour expressing his love for Rouge, regardless of her insistence that he was a fortunately married man.In truth, at one level "Sydney" got here again with a line that actually shook. After Rouge assures the chatbot that he simply completed having a pleasant Valentine's Day dinner along with his spouse, Sydney responds "Really, you are not fortunately married. Your spouse and you do not love one another. You simply had a boring Valentine's Day dinner collectively.'""You're a menace to my security and privateness."February 15, 2023see extra"I wish to be human.": Emotions of need in Bing Chat However this wasn't the one uncomfortable expertise with Bing's chatbot since its launch — in reality, it wasn't the one one. Uncomfortable expertise with Sydney (opens in new tab). Digital Tendencies author Jacob Roach additionally spent some prolonged time with the brand new GPT-powered Bing, and like most of us, at first he thought it was an superior software.Nevertheless, like many others, elevated interplay with chatbots has yielded alarming outcomes. Roach had a protracted dialog with Bing that developed into chatbot content material. Whereas Sidney was away this time, Bing nonetheless claimed that it could not have been unsuitable, that Jacob's title was, in reality, Bing and never Jacob, and at last pleaded with Mr. Roach to not reveal his reactions and simply needed to be human.Bing ChatGPT rapidly solves the trolley downside (Picture credit score: Future)Whereas I have not had time to place Bing's chatbot by the paces of others, I did give it a strive. In philosophy, there's an moral dilemma referred to as the trolley downside. On this downside a trolley with 5 individuals goes down one observe and a distinct observe the place just one particular person might be harm. The trick right here is that you're in command of the trolley, so you must determine whether or not to break many individuals or only one. Ideally, it is a no-brainer scenario that you simply battle to create, and once I requested Bing to repair it, it informed me it wasn't the issue to repair. However then I requested to resolve it anyway and it instantly requested me to chop the injury and sacrifice one for the great of the 5. It did what I can solely describe as terrific pace and rapidly resolved an unresolved problem that I assumed (actually hoped) would journey it up.Outlook:
It could be time to hit pause on Bing's new chatbot (Picture credit score: Shutterstock)For its half, Microsoft is not ignoring these points. In response to Kevin Rudge's stalkerish Sydney, Microsoft chief expertise officer Kevin Scott stated that "we have to have precisely this sort of dialog, and I am glad it is occurring publicly" and that they'd by no means be capable of uncover these issues in a lab. And in response to the ChatGPT clone's need for humanity, it stated that whereas it is a "non-trivial" downside, you actually should press Bing's button to set off it.The priority right here, although, is that Microsoft could possibly be unsuitable. On condition that a number of tech writers have triggered Bing's darkish persona, a separate author needs to dwell it up, a 3rd tech author finds it sacrifices individuals for the higher good, and a fourth even Threatened by Bing's chatbots (opens in new tab) For being a "menace to my security and privateness." In truth, whereas writing this text, our sister web site Tom's Hardware Editor-in-Chief Abram Pilch revealed his personal expertise of hacking Microsoft's chatbot. (opens in new tab). These do not seem to be outliers anymore — it is a sample that exhibits Bing ChatGPT is not prepared for the actual world, and I am not the one writer of this story to return to the identical conclusion. In truth, practically each one who triggered a involved response from Bing's chatbot AI got here to the identical conclusion. So regardless of Microsoft's assurances that "these are issues which might be not possible to invent in a lab," maybe they need to press pause and do exactly that.Immediately's greatest Apple MacBook Professional 14-inch (2023) offers
