net ruffled over and over again, pucks shot into it with a crisp slap from either winger. he’d only ever used the same set of pucks to practice with, and only allowed one person to use them other than himself. they never really talked when they practiced with @epigraphed, likely his own doing. chatter while crafting arts was a distraction in his mind. he saved it, instead, for when they take their water break. ❝ i have an idea, but you need to be open minded about it. ❞ long thought about it, and he still isn’t sure that it’s the right way to go about it. but the calder belonged to him, in his mind. ❝ we could both have a shot at the calder, if we work around— instead of through alex. ❞ who he’d been worried, would steal the entire show.

⭐ It's A Hockey Night in Pittsburgh! ⭐
The Penguins (11-13-4, 6th in the Metro) welcome in the Toronto Maple Leafs (16-8-2, 1st in the Atlantic) for the second matchup of the three game series.
The final game of the series will also be played in Pittsburgh at the beginning of March. Currently, Toronto leads the series 1-0 after defeating the Pens 4-2 back in October during the Leafs home opener.
In their last 10 games against the Leafs, the Penguins are 4-5-1. Their last win against the Leafs at home came on Nov. 25, 2023, in a tight one goal game that Pittsburgh emerged victorious in.
🍁 Shaking the Branches 🍁
The Maple Leafs have crossed the border for a rather long two game trip. First, they visit Pittsburgh tonight and then make their way to Newark on Tuesday to play the Devils. They are coming off of a three game homestand where they went 2-1-0.
Toronto's three game win streak was spoiled by the Washington Capitals last night (Dec. 6) , who defeated the home team 3-1. The sole Leaf goal was scored by John Tavares, his 12th of the season.
Projected starting goalie for the Leafs is Joseph Woll. The 26 year old goalie is in his fourth season with the Leafs and has a 7-2-0 record this season. Woll is 2nd in the league with his 2.11 GA/G and 4th with his .922 SV%.
Toronto is led in points and assists by Mitch Marner (36P, 9G, 27A). William Nylander leads the team in goals (16G, 6PPG).
Marner has recorded at least a point in eight of his last ten games, totaling 16 points. The 27 year old winger had a three point night in the team's win against Nashville on Dec. 4.
W. Nylander is emerging as one of Toronto's finest forwards, projected to reach 50 goals this season. He has not gone consecutive games in a row without recording a point since Oct. 28.
With captain Auston Matthews having missed nine games since the beginning of November, the Leafs needed their other superstars to step foward.
W. Nylander had no issue doing that and with the return of Matthews, the Leafs have looked like a dangerous team both in front of the net and on the blueline.
However, W. Nylander, Matthews and Marner did not record a point in the loss against Washington last night.
Across the league, the Leafs are 18th on the power play with a 19.5%, meanwhile, their penalty kill is 4th with an 83.5%.
One thing to note is that defenseman Jake McCabe, who has not played for the Leafs since Nov. 30, was placed on injury reserve today.
🏠 Home Team Advantage 🏠
The Penguins, like the Leafs, are also playing the second game of their back to back. After the game tonight, the Penguins will remain home for a matchup against the Avalanche on Tuesday.
Pittsburgh has a three-game home win streak right now which they are hoping to extend during this mini homestand. They are 7-6-2 at home this season.
After a deflating 4-2 loss to the New York Rangers last night, coach Mike Sullivan said that it was, "Probably the worst game we played in a month, maybe. Everything we talked about before the game, we did the complete opposite. We talked about managing the puck. We gave up six 2-on-1’s and a breakaway. We talked about bringing physicality to the game. We didn't touch anybody. You know, it's hard to win when you do things like that.”
The Penguins' strongest performance last night came in the form of goaltender Alex Nedeljkovic, who made several dazzling stops after the defense collapsed multiple times in front of the net. It's hard to be mad at Nedeljkovic when he faced 32 shots from this Rangers team, who were riding the wave of an emotional day after trading captain Jacob Trouba and extending goaltender Igor Shesterkin.
Last night, it seemed like the Penguins were playing catch up the entire night, never truly dominating the game for consecutive time. They had some chances where they had good possession time, but then it was coupled with the Rangers shackling the Pens in their own d-zone.
Tonight in net is confirmed to be Tristan Jarry. The 29 year old goaltender has picked up wins in his last three starts, the most this season. Jarry is 4-3-1, with a 3.88 GA/G % and a .884 SV%. Since returning from a conditioning stint in WBS, Jarry has looked solid for the Penguins. But he is only as solid as the team in front of him.
The Penguins are led in points and assists by captain Sidney Crosby (26P, 18A, 5PPA) . Rickard Rakell leads the team with 10 goals, one of which has come on the power play.
The Penguins are 14th on the power play with a 21.5% success rate and 15th on the penalty kill with a 80.2% success rate. Last night during the game against the Rangers, the Penguins were 0-4 on the power play, but killed off three penalties.
All defensive pairings are going to have to step it up tonight for the Penguins, otherwise, Jarry will be fighting for his life in the net.
To end two happier notes, coach Mike Sullivan is coaching his 700th game behind the bench for the Penguins. He becomes the 21st NHL coach to do so with a single franchise.
Likewise, captain Sidney Crosby played in his 1,300th career game last night with the Penguins.
Happy watching, think good thoughts!

okay inspired by @yabagofmalk I'm going to attempt to take the pens' numbers on my Spotify Wrapped and find a way to connect the song to the player.
we open with:
#87: Admit Defeat by Bastille
the universe has decided to make a mockery of sid with this song choice. ostensibly this song is about the futility of resisting your feelings for someone and needing to accept them, strong and inevitable as they are.
I admit defeat Won't be thinking 'bout anything at all tonight but...
that lyric ends with "you." but sidney crosby, oh no, he knows the real way the lyrics end. the way they SHOULD end: Won't be thinking 'bout anything at all tonight but... the crushing bitter taste of defeat. you think a song will get him to admit defeat? no. he bends the world to his will. he will swallow nothing. he will bend the very fabric of time to change the lyrics of this song. as we speak he's accosting dan smith in his recording studio and demanding he learns a more effective way to engineer sucess.
#71: СВБТ (Сатана всегда будет с тобой) by ЛЮТИК
once again the universe intervenes and gifts geno with a russian song. good. you think he's going to pay attention to english lyrics? as if.
this song is, however, about how satan is always watching you and you're doomed no matter what you do, so... much like geno, we get a nice peppy beat but he's only going to speak to the media when they team is playing like shit and someone needs to take the fall. go on, call him lucifer, he likes the drama of it all.
#58: GOD COMPLEX by Pkch
well. here. no lyrics, but a booming bass sensation that tickles the ears with plucky fun sounds. much like kris, this song spends most of its career shirking anything too serious and prefers a "no thanks" communication style, but it's charming and pretty-sounding so you'll let it slide. also it's called god complex; for a guy who's got a sense of pride, I think that's rather fitting.
#59: Kalahari Down by Orville Peck
You’ve been gone away, I’ve been riding around Running out the days, writing out a song On my daddy’s guitar Did you find your way? Skip another town? Said I couldn’t stay but it’s different now
correct, jake. your father, sidney crosby, let you borrow his "guitar" (puck, once, at practice) and then you unknowingly signed a contract to stay in pittsburgh for eternity to be sid's bestest, favoritest winger. congrats. you aren't skipping town. you signed your soul away and now you're sid's favorite child. welcome.
#8: Good As It Gets by Little Hurt
the first two lines of this song are as follows:
I'm not who I used to be I wouldn't know that guy if he was standing in front of me
need I say more? I needn't. sorry, dumo. tough luck but the crystal ball (spotify) doesn't lie.
#17: Dangerous by Set It Off
This is really my night, gonna take it right now Yeah, I'm feelin' like a Mack truck goin' downhill The people on the sidelines screaming "Slow down" But you can't kill my vibe
yeah, rusty, we're asking you to slow down because despite your enthusiasm, you are horrifyingly streaky and are also kind of compromising geno's line right now. if embodying a truck will get you your mojo back, then, please, by all means, go forth and drive, buster.
#16: Line Of Sight by ODESZA
jason's curse of being perpetually flung about the ice like a rag doll (due to his style of play, his incessant need to be a pest, and his OVERWHELMINGLY "ferda" personality) is Known to the almight Spotify:
I turn full circle round and round So will you help me down (help me down) Come grab my hand for solid ground
he does need a hand to help him off the ice every time he's been flung to it by his own enthusiasm and another player. someone help him out, please, he can't keep getting injured.
#35: About Love by MARINA
"I don't really know a lot about love", this song proclaims.
for dear tristan, we can shorten it:
"I don't really know a lot," period. or, if you desire: "I don't really know a lot about icing." maybe one day he'll figure it out. he's loved regardless.

1,5,14 for Isolde OC Ask Game 🌚❤
If you want ask me about Isolde Hiwatari, or any member of her family (Tadao, Amanda or Jacob), you see this list and ask me!
Well, come on. Thanks for ask me, @aleapple1216 (y sí, está largo):
1. What is your character’s reaction to a minor inconvenience? Such as getting their jumper caught on a door handle?
It's depend if she doesn't have others problems in her mind or her mood in this day. If is a good day, only she shrugs and repairs her sweater if it was damaged.
But, if she had a worse day, it would be the icing in the cake, and she isn't a good mood. Cursed herself, the door and the jumper and probably, Isolde could vent her anger in someone (it's the reason she usually isolates herself to avoid this action) if they ask her, but quickly she apologies with this person, explaining generally why she is in this mood (with her closest friends, she usually tells the reason and how she feels herself).
If you read "Cumpleaños" , you could see she was mad for Trelawney's "predictions" about her relationship with Talbott. She wouldn't reacted in that way if Isolde wouldn't have received Amanda's letter where Isa read her mother was going to Hogsmeade to visit her, but Hiwatari didn't want to meet Amanda.
5. Do they have any nicknames or pet names or other aliases?
You know some of them, when you asked me if Talbott and Isolde have nicknames do they call each to other. And I have a other publish (here). But actually I added some news and the last publish I responded in Spanish. Thus, I write here again:
When she started to study in Hogwarts, many students called her “Monster Hiwatari”, “Cursed Child/Girl”, “Nightmare Hiwatari”, because Jacob’s actions. Since she was in third year, the people started to call her "Curse-Breaker"; and in her seventh year, "Heroine of Hogwarts". All of them doesn't like, the first four for obvious reasons; the two last, because she feels uncomfortable with them. She thinks she isn't any of them, because she only broke the curses for find Jacob and protect her friends, not for she wanted to do or for the glory to save everyone.
------
Her paternal grandparents, Tadao, Rowan and Talbott called her (and sometimes I do, too) "Isa". Tetsuo and Sac-Nicté called with the Spanish variant of her name, Isolda, too.
------
Tadao called her "My little princess/Mi princesita" and "Periquita". (The last because she spoke a lot when they were together and asked him about his job/about everything [estaba en la edad de los por qué]). Amanda only calls Isolde for her name.
------
Jacob calls her "Pip/Peque" (canon). Also he can use "Pitufina/Smurfette" (he teases her about her height, but he would say anything because he's 1.70m/5'7'') or "Mi hermanita chiquita bebé (My little baby sister)" .
------
Rowan used two: the first, she call Isolde her "Little sister". Their friendship development to sismance. (F for JC, in Isolde's history they were close). The second, since Isolde and Talbott are in a relationship, "Mrs. Winger" (In sixth year called them Mr. and Mrs. Winger, only for teased them, but really she though/wish/knew they'll be together).
------
Bill and Charlie: "Our Non-related-blood Sister" or "Our Honorary Weasley".
------
Talbott used them:
“My Little bird / Mi pequeña avecilla” , even Isolde thinks it doesn’t fit with her, because she is taller than Talbott when both are in their animagi form. (She’s a golden eagle, too. But the females are bigger than males). But really Talbott called her with it because she is shorter than him in their human form. And he's the only authorized to call her with some nickname related with her height.
“Princess Isolde”, because for the “Legend of the Tragic Love of Isolde and Tristan”. He usually puns her a little with it. But she responses, since they are in a relationship, Talbott is her Knight Tristan, but without the tragic love.
"My Mockingbird or My Nightingale/Mi Cenzontle o Mi Ruiseñor", because he loves to see her singing every song she likes (and she does very well).
-----
When she started to work in the Auror’s office in the Ministry of Magic, her codename is “Cuauhpilli” (Eagle warrior in náhuatl).
14. Are they a simple person to please or difficult?
Isolde is a simple person to please. She doesn't need that you give her luxury or expensive things, neither Isa isn't very exigent to go out in a expensives sites. She loves spend quality time with the people who is important for her, and if you gift something from the heart, she appreciates it.
-----
Finish! I hope you like. And sorry for the long post.

Which players should the Penguins protect? Three Post-Gazette staffers play GM
MATT VENSEL
Pittsburgh Post-Gazette
JUL 15, 2021 5:18 AM
Ron Hextall has been mum about which Penguins he plans to protect in next Wednesday’s expansion draft. We have educated guesses but won’t officially find out until the weekend, after teams must formally submit their protected lists to the new Seattle Kraken and the rest of the league.
In the meantime, we decided we would steal Hextall’s comfy GM chair for a moment, kick back our feet, swivel around a little bit and share which players we would protect if Mario Lemieux was crazy enough to let us run the team.
Who’s we? Post-Gazette beat reporters Matt Vensel and Mike DeFabo and columnist Ron Cook, game-day regulars over at PPG Paints Arena.
We also projected which guy the Kraken would grab in each scenario.
All three over us opted to protect seven forwards, three defensemen and a goalie instead of eight overall skaters and a goalie. And while we all agreed on most of the players we would keep, there were a few differences. So we explained the rationale behind our personal protected lists.
Finally, these protected lists are somewhat based on the personal preferences of each of us. But there is some actual intel buried in here. So enjoy, let us know which of us is the smartest and feel free to share your lists, too.
Matt Vensel, Penguins beat reporter:
FORWARDS: Sidney Crosby, Evgeni Malkin, Jake Guentzel, Bryan Rust, Brandon Tanev, Teddy Blueger and Kasperi Kapanen
The first four guys are no-brainers. Tanev and Blueger are quick calls for me, too. Tanev is a guy who can provide a spark on a random Tuesday in January and help you win playoff games in May. He is also integral to the team’s off-ice chemistry. Blueger has become an effective shutdown center and added 22 points in 43 games last season. The final forward spot comes down to Kapanen and Jeff Carter. Carter is the more useful player to Pittsburgh for 2021-22, especially with Malkin out indefinitely. But I’ll gamble that Seattle passes on the 36-year-old and I will instead keep Kapanen, an imperfect middle-six winger but a tradable asset.
DEFENSEMEN: Kris Letang, Brian Dumoulin and Cody Ceci
Letang and Dumoulin are the easy ones. And young blue-liners John Marino and Pierre-Olivier Joseph are exempt, so need to worry about protecting them. No one else is a priority. Mike Matheson had a nice first season here and fellow lefty Marcus Pettersson is well-rounded with perhaps a little more room to grow. Unfortunately, both have pricey, long-term deals that eat up too much cap room relative to their level of performance. Ceci is an unrestricted free agent but he is someone whom the Penguins should and will consider resigning. I’ll keep his rights, which could maybe be traded for a future asset if we can’t afford him.
GOALIE: Tristan Jarry
Protecting Jarry is not endorsing him as my No. 1 entering 2021-22. I just don’t want to be caught without a goalie when the record screeches on the offseason game of musical chairs. I still hope to bring in a veteran with some semblance of a playoff pedigree to push or potentially outright replace Jarry on the roster.
SEATTLE SELECTS…
Jared McCann. I crossed my fingers that Kraken GM Ron Francis would take one of these bigger cap hits off our books. But they pass on Matheson, Pettersson and winger Jason Zucker and roll the dice on McCann. The former first-rounder has speed, a wicked wrister, versatility and a reasonable $2.9 million salary. The Kraken hope that the 25-year-old finally puts it all together on his fourth NHL team.
Mike DeFabo, Penguins beat reporter:
FORWARDS: Sidney Crosby, Evgeni Malkin, Jake Guentzel, Bryan Rust, Brandon Tanev, Kasperi Kapanen and Jeff Carter.
The Penguins might be willing to play a game of chicken with Seattle and assume the Kraken will not select a 36-year-old who has just one year remaining on his contract. In fact, I’d expect them to take this bet and leave Carter exposed. But if I’m playing GM? That’s too big of a gamble now that we know Evgeni Malkin underwent significant offseason knee surgery that will force him to miss the beginning of the season. Who knows when Malkin will actually return? Who knows how effective he’ll be at 35 with a wonky wheel and a disrupted offseason program? The Penguins need a reliable insurance policy. Carter is exactly that. Carter fit in seamlessly in the dressing room after he was acquired at the deadline and made his presence felt on the ice, too, scoring 13 goals in 20 games, including playoffs.
DEFENSEMEN: Kris Letang, Brian Dumoulin and Mike Matheson
There’s an argument to be made that the Penguins should leave both Pettersson and Matheson exposed and try to entice Seattle to take one of those long, expensive contracts off their hands. However, the way the Penguins’ speed-oriented system highlighted Matheson’s strengths makes him a player that I wouldn’t want to lose for nothing.
GOALIE: Tristan Jarry
Jarry’s postseason performance didn’t inspire a lot of confidence. But where will the Penguins be if Seattle selects their No. 1 netminder? I’d still try to add a goalie to challenge Jarry for starting time or possibly even supplant him. But knowing he’s on the roster gives the team more options and a safety net.
SEATTLE SELECTS…
Teddy Blueger. Give the 26-year-old center credit. He’s almost always the last player on the ice at practice, fine-tuning his game as he adds an offensive dimension to what’s already a consistent defensive game. But let’s not make him out to be more than he is. He’s still, more or less, a fourth-line center on a team filled with talented forwards. The Penguins would have a much-easier time replacing a fourth-line center than a second-line center like Carter.
Ron Cook, Post-Gazette columnist:
FORWARDS: Sidney Crosby, Evgeni Malkin, Jake Guentzel, Bryan Rust, Kasperi Kapanen, Brandon Tanev and Teddy Blueger
Only the final spot was difficult for me: Blueger or Jared McCann. I’m gambling the Kraken won’t take Jeff Carter at his advanced age even though he would be a perfect leader on a young team. It would be nice if Seattle would take Jason Zucker and his inflated salary off the Penguins’ hands, but that isn’t going to happen. I went with Blueger over McCann because he is more qualified as a center.
DEFENSEMEN: Kris Letang, Brian Dumoulin and Mike Matheson
The Penguins don’t have to worry about losing much on the blue line. Matheson and Marcus Pettersson are more than expendable because of their high salaries, but the Kraken won’t be interested in either player. It’s good that John Marino is exempt from this draft. I see him coming back next season and having a good year. Getting bigger and tougher on defense should be Ron Hextall’s No. 1 offseason priority. Opponents go virtually untouched in front of the Penguins’ net.
GOALIE: Tristan Jarry.
Penguins management insists it still believes in Jarry despite his playoff flameout. I wasn’t buying any of it until someone I trust in the organization told me that the coaches and players know the truth about Jarry – that he was injured late in the season, didn’t get to practice before the playoff series against the Islanders and lost his edge. I still have my doubts and want to see the team bring in a veteran goaltender to challenge Jarry for playing time. That wouldn’t be good news for Casey DeSmith, who is a solid No. 2 netminder. Who knows? DeSmith might have given the Penguins a better chance against the Islanders if he hadn’t been injured.
SEATTLE SELECTS…
McCann. Sadly. The Penguins won the NHL’s most rugged division last season so you know they are going to lose a good player in the expansion draft. That will be McCann. I will hate to see him go despite the fact he came up small in the postseason the past two years. I see him as a solid NHL player for many years.

Hpma Charecter Profile ♦️
Hiii, so even if i already made one before i chaged somethings ! But mostly all is the same 🤌🏻
I share canon with these beautiful people: (Where i'll be making a drawing with them of how they meet or sm)
Tristan Winger @khamoise || ♡
Nathaniel @jasminediaz ||
Adalia Untermann @maleliddell ||
Scarlet Bianchi @immagrosscandy ||
Charlotte Sorell @aleapple1216 ||
Crowen @tiny-chiro ||
FunFacts:
-> He's very popular, thanks to the fact that it is very easy for him to make friends.
-> when i say he just wants to be loved is that it's not hard to make him fall for anyone. (Also... Pansexual)
-> yep, in 6th - 7th grade he has his first real/official relationship with Tristan Winger, and that is an interesting story we'll talk about later.
-> He has lots of hairstlyes, but you'll never see him with short hair.
-> Even if he hates the fact that the Frey twins do and are bullies, something prevents him from not getting along well with them. He says that they can change, they are just kids looking for attention. Although he cant say the same for Cassandra, he just doesn't like her at all.
Past story:
> He lives on the land of Svolvær where it is always winter with nice people near the lake.
> The town remained traditional and cultured for a long time, when his grandfather was going to leave the position of chief to his son, he fled with his beloved, leaving his son
> Now being raised by his grandparents, Everard was supposed to, once he was old enough, be in charge of the town's affairs.
> His first strong manifestation of magic was at the age of 4 when he got lost in the woods following a cougar to fight with it
> [When the cougar became aware of the presence of the child, it hid and went from being the prey to the hunter, keeping the curious child in its sights, when it was slowly approaching to attack it, Everard saw it and remained quietly in shock, not knowing what to do , apparently unconsciously he wanted to be a bear to defend himself and instead of that he seemed to call a real one, causing this bear to defend him from the cougar, when he won he passed by the boy ignoring him, for Everard it was incredible he would never forget that moment].
> After that he did tricks with the other children of the town, his grandmother who was the wise of the town said that his mother was a witch that Everard had inherited it from her.
> Everard was always an outgoing child who loved to get lost in the woods, he learned that he should always put others before himself, but he was not going to be embarrassed for that .
> Everard always came out to defend those who were given unfair treatment since childhood.
> That's why he used to get into several fights since he was little, Adults and Parents couldn't interfere in a fight because from there the value of each one was demonstrated, Fortunately Everard managed to win each one of them.
> When he received his letter from Hogwarts accompanied by Hagrid, his grandparents were not very in favor of letting Everard neglect his education and responsibilities with other kinds of people, but in the end, they accepted it.
> Everard very happy to know the outside world and discover why his parents had abandoned him in order to get out of that place, he understood them, the outside was incredibly wide and different, he got excited imagining that so many adventures await him.

Boston Bruins’ Brad Marchand’s six-game ban upheld by NHL commissioner Gary Bettman
NHL commissioner Gary Bettman upheld Boston Bruins winger Brad Marchand‘s six-game suspension Friday, saying that his conduct was “intentional and involved an excessive and unnecessary use of force” against “an unsuspecting player.” Marchand was suspended by the NHL Department of Player Safety on Feb. 9 for punching and high-sticking Pittsburgh Penguins goalie Tristan Jarry.
