Her family is literally crack personified. They are HEAVILY, EXTREMELY AND HARSHLY based on The Amazing World of Gumball, because that was my favorite cartoon when i was growing up and i adored how crazy the family was 💀HUGE ASS FUCKING FAMILY INCOMING Her dad practically married himself in woman form (but shes more chill and introverted than him- they're both chaotic as hell), and then her siblings (eight older brothers; two are adopted, two older sisters, middle siblings who are triplets ( sister, brother and ftm brother) three younger brothers and an adopted younger sister (BASICALLY AN ALL BOY FAMILY AND SOME GIRLS SPRINKLED IN 💀)

There's the oldest brother, Who's name I have no idea yet I just call him T. He's 42 years old and is a fucking unit. He has a family with a wife and three kids. (No idea how he looks either)

The second oldest brother idk his name either is 41 years old and is also a fucking unit. He's single and is an engineer

The third oldest brother is 39 years old. Don't know what to name him lol Also another unit but has a bionic leg. He's a single father and has a daughter.

The fourth oldest brother is also 39 years old. He's tall as shit but more skinny. He has a girlfriend and a boyfriend and is a mad scientist. (Legally? Probably not. Insanely smart and makes weapons? PROBABLY YES)

The fifth oldest brother is 37 years old, his name is Grizz. He's built like his dad (big and burly with a gut) and has his personality. He's a firefighter

And then the sixth older brother, he's 36 years old (no idea what to name him) he's a CEO of a company. He has a wife and five kids

They're all absolute units like good lord

There are two adopted older brothers. One of them, who is also 36 years old, was a son to a family friend. His family died and they took him in. He's a chef. The other one, his name is Sammy, he's 35 years old and is now a musician.

The two older sisters, aka: The Domino twins, the animator and the police officer. Idk their names dammit-- but they're both 35 years old. The police officer has an eye patch and grayed early, while the animator has a scar over her other eye and black hair. (Hence why people call them Domino)

And then the triplets, all 28 years old. The sister is a hairstylist and a cosplayer, the brother is a game designer named Ezekiel, and the other brother who is trans (ftm) is a voice actor and a professional gamer. (GUESS WHAT- DONT KNOW THEIR NAMES LMAO)

And then a younger brother, who's 18 years old (last year in high school BABBYYYY) And then the younger twins who are 10 years old and then the adopted sister who is four.

One of her aunts on the dad's side practically lives in prison because of the unlucky luck that runs in the family, the other one is the most normal one and she's a nurse, and her uncle on the mom's side that's literally a revolutionary war (to a war NO ONE HAS EVER HEARD OF) hero with HIS crazy ass family... NOT TO MENTION THE GRANDPARENTS AND GREAT GRANDPARENTS (ON BOTH FUCKIN SIDES) one was in the Italian mob and has connections that shouldn't be connections, and the other one owns a tiger, a lion and a raccoon that was the replacement for the bear when the tiger and the lion ate it. (I'll let yall decide who's who), and then one has a fortune but forgot where it's buried, and then the other one is a musician! (As I said, I'll let you decide who's who)

they invited her team(yes, Keegan as well), Los Vaqueros, and Krueger plus Graves to have like a welcome back cookout at their big country home

And the chaos IMMEDIATELY started when they got there.

The younger twins forgot that they set up a trap on the house, so when Sweetheart opened the door, she got hit in the face with a pan, fell on the ground, and then whip cream came flying out, hitting Soap in the face.

Chaotic Neutral to the core. There for a good time and kind of hates that Malgona makes him be the brain cell at times. Potentially has a crush on Jabari that he's purely confusing for friendly admiration.

Terrible at jokes. They either fall completely flat or get so out of control that a small nation is being destroyed in a civil war. This has happened TWICE. (Malacent: I can't joke with anyone...)

Unique Magic: Undiscovered. Unbothered and in no rush to figure it out.

The friendliest yet pettiest of the triplets. Has cursed his classmates multiple times over small things like someone taking the last pudding cup at lunch or not saying 'bless you' when someone sneezes. Strong magic but prefers sword fighting, enchants his weapons in his spare time. Claims to be Lawful Good but is Chaotic Good at best.

Has an odd blessing on him that in dire times, he will always be lucky. No one is sure where the blessing came from.

Managed to snap one of his horns completely in half as a child. Because of that, the other horn had to be shaved down to keep his head level, so Malicent's horns are noticeably shorter than his older siblings. (Malgona tried to bolt cut her and Malathew's horns off in an act of solidarity, but Lilia managed to stop her)

Unique Magic: Undiscovered. Bothered and pouting about it since Malgona got hers.

AITA for mimicking the girl I was modeled after?

Out of the gate it sounds bad, but I (19 [technicality], F [technicality]) am a Mirror Clone of a human girl, J (19F) and was supposedly created to be a daughter to my mentor. And something gor fucked up and my initial purpose became far less clear as I became an emotionless soldier built for killing.

I was trained for about 6 years after my creation (so yes, technically i've only been alive 6 years, but with the knowledge and phisique of a 19 year old) to do one thing: get revenge on the girl I was made after, the same girl who defeated my mentor DMK (idfk 30s??M) and his master DM (dont even ask me hell if i know).

So we caused a bit of commotion when I was ready, and J came to the Mirror World, where I promptly defeated her in a duel and sort of trapped her in a mirror prison. (This was my mentor's idea as he had done it before.)

So I went to her home anr eplaced her for about a week. And GOD. Was it HARD. At first it was hard because J had so many... feelings and I couldn't mimick them.

But soon I becan to grow attached to her older brother C (around 25??i think??M) and I learned to genuinely care for him.

This freaked me the hell out, but my mentor told me to just continue the mission. So I did.

And then I was caught. Long story short, J's twin sister H and cousin E (who i hated. he was so suspicious of me from the getgo.) noticed I was acting different. So, blah blah blah, I told cloud, almost died to this freaky cyborg thing, whatever.

I went home and H and J's other older brother Cy (im rlly not sure but not much older than C. M) planned to kill me. And I wanted a fighting chance, so I sort of made Cy kill H with some trickery.

And then I lost the fight anyways. C rescued me from an almost certain death, and I planned to never return after I left, since they had to be happier without me.

But C visited. And J visited. So I came back. And after a rocky few months, J and H called me their "triplet" ajd I was a part of thr family.

But my goal was never to hurt anyone but Jade. She was the only one I needed revenge on. So hurting H and Cy and all the others wasn't a part of the plan.

So... Thats my whole spiel. Sorry I don't know all the details. But even though I know what I did was awful, AITA?

these are based off the really specific lines in the scroll so. that’s what i’m hinging this off of

Guarding/Garden Giant

(put both words cause as it stands i’m not 100% sure which was said but i’m pretty sure it’s guarding)

this is like. for sure arlin. right? there aren’t exactly a ton of other giants in riptide.

the only others i can think of who could possibly fit the “giant” part are ollie (based solely off his belt) or someone who’s giant in another way. like giant being used more metaphorically, so someone powerful or popular could fit, but that widens the pool of potential people WAY too much.

and as for the guarding part, arlin is (presumably, according to what i remember niklaus hendrix saying) trapped in the hole in the sea/UNDER the black sea, somehow

and when chip saw him in his nightmares, he was protecting something. or guarding it, one could say

Nameless Prince

i have the least idea for this one tbh.

like at first i though “CHIP? HE WAS NAMELESS WHEN ARLIN FOUND HIM. COULD IT BE HIM?” but after like 2 seconds of thinking about it, that makes no sense

cause the nameless prince is the person in the book by the same name. he is described as spreading corruption, if i believe correctly?

and dr. ooze in the feywild seemed to be a victim of this corruption, having lost his home world to it

in the book, this corruption can easily be interpreted similarly to what happened to the sakura sea. but in dr. ooze’s memories, it manifests more as a. idk. flesh thing? a pulsing mass?

and needless to say, chip didn’t do that. (unless time travel was involved. somehow. or an ancestor..? no clue y’all.) there’s a possibility it’s connected to the hole in the sea and/or niklaus hendrix, but it doesn’t line up all that well, so it’s unlikely. possible, but unlikely.

Unborn Kings

okokok i am going WAY out on a limb here, but i had a cool idea so you have to listen now

i’ve seen a lot of people say this is talking about ollie being captain rose’s kid, but that both doesn’t make sense timeline-wise (ollie is 2 years too old to be his son), PLUS it was denied by grizzly. and while it’s perfectly possible for him to have lied, it still just doesn’t make much sense. ollie is also only one person, and this title is kings, plural.

so it’s not ollie. that being said, i DO think they could be the children of captain rose.

in the black rose pirates oneshot, captain rose announces his wife (i think?) and he were expecting a baby. he then falls into the hole in the sea, blah blah blah, you know the story.

what if it’s not one kid. what if she had twins, or perhaps even triplets? being the children of one of the four pirate lords, they could certainly be considered unborn kings of some sort. heirs to a throne, in a way.

that or we haven’t met these characters yet. or “unborn kings” is metaphorical, and these people have already been born, and “unborn” instead refers to being yet to come into power. which also narrow it down at all

Lore:

Primstalk was one of the first cats I fell in love with in Morningclan. Their beautifully patterned pelt stuck out to me as well as their pretty name. It also helped that I was so attached to their pretty calico mother, Bramblebee. I loved all Bramble’s other kits too, Egretpaw, Downclaw, Peatwhisker and especially Crouchwhisker and Tallbite, the only of the siblings to make it to elderhood together. The littermates other mother is quite special to me too, Slightflood, daughter of founding clan members, Waspholly and Rockstar. Back to Primstalk, they were made deputy quite young due to a lack of qualified cats in the early days of the clan. Their ambition and good fighting skills took them far. They chose Swanheart as a mate, a formerly abandoned kitty pet kit who had been left with the clan. He was always on the nervous side but was a talented hunter. I was concerned and pretty sad when Swanheart died after only having a single kit with his beloved mate. That kit is Jetshadow. Primstalk followed their mate to starclan but not before a fair bit of trauma, including a scar from an otter and nearly drowning in a river. They died in a battle against Roseclan, that same battle killed Bramblebee as well.

Jetshadow stole my heart right away. Dark fur with blue eyes is a lovely combo and I love the pretty berries she wears. Jetshadow is a calm headed warrior, and a great teacher to their former apprentice ferretbloom. She survived a wicked fight with a dog, earning scars and losing a leg in the battle. Her mate Ospreysky was a medicine cat, a good one at that and very loving. It’s tradition among my clans to make ginger cats med cats, and Ospreysky was no execption, especially when sickness raged through Morningclan, requiring more medicine cats to be trained. They were trained by Jetshadow’s relative Tallbite. Jet and Osprey had several kits together, their first litter is very close to my heart, Cedarwhisper and the late Mottlepelt. Cedarwhsiper is the spitting image of her parent, right down to the odd eyes. She is also a med cat trained by Tallbite, but not originally. She her first trained as a warrior, as evident by the scar she got from a twoleg trap during a patrol. The bold young cat is a great healer and never regrets changing her path to help her clan when they needed her most. The loss of her littermate, Mottlepelt was a tough time for her and her family. He was a strict cat and a great speaker. He suffered much before dying alongside many clanmates. He was ordered by Burdockstar to fend off a badger which caused him to lost his tail and he also lost a paw in a twoleg trap just like Jetshadow. The pair have younger siblings too, Brookheart, who was the resembled grandparent Swanheart, Antlerpelt who looked like Jetshadow, gingers Fadedfur and Fadedfoot and pale pelted Heronhollow, the black, or rather, white sheep of the family. After Jetshadow lost her mate, she took another, pretty calico Branchjaw. They have had one litter together so far, Burdockpaw, Frostpaw and Icypaw, who have just turned 6 moons old and started their warrior training. I’ll be keeping a close eye on Icypaw who takes after Jetshadow, the only surviving family member who does.

Heronhollow is the bloodline that grabbed my attention though, but not because of her, but rather her mate. But lets talk about her before we get into that. Heron is playful and smart, bringing light to the days of sorrow and loss. Thanks to the influence of her former mentor, Aurorafur, she learned how to be a fine warrior and become a lot more outgoing. Her mate is Buckspots. This cat didn’t stand out to me at first, aside from being Warmcreek’s daughter who was from a set of triplets I loved. But then Buckspots was ambushed by a wolverine, killing her instantly. Or so I thought. When I looked through Morningclan’s ranks, thERE SHE WAS. Long live the immortal Buckspots who said no to starclan. I’m sure her patrol mates were very confused to come home to find Buckspots just chilling after they witnessed such a brutal attack on her. Anyways haha, Buckspots is a wise cat in spite of her young age... and knack for walking into trouble. And a good fighter, escaping the jaws of death without so much as a scar to show for it. Her and Heronhollow have two litters of kits so far, twins Blossomspeckle and Ferretbloom who take after Warmcreek and his matching siblings, and newborn kits, Seedkit and Birchkit, who I hope grow up to continue this family line I love so much.

Margo-

- Margo is just so snuggly and cuddly, so she'll literally nuzzle into your arms like she wants to crawl into your skin.

- She has a smattering of freckles across her chest and belly that only intensifies in prolonged sun exposure, of course.

- Her favorite meal involves a lot of venison,,,

- She also sings very well and often sings to her unborn pups

Brandywine-

-Brandy always wanted to be a parent, but never really put much toward making that a reality. Enjoys the "curse" much more than they thought they would.

- They do the little tappy taps with their front hooves when they're super excited. Their tail also wags.

- They have a great of open water. Will not get this poor thing on a ship. Or in the air. They hate flying.

- They're secretly afraid Darby doesn't love them the way they want her to. (Don't worry, Darby does)

Rathemir -

-He loves having the scales on his flanks scratched. If you scratch those, he purrs like an overgrown cat and will shove his belly into your lap for more scritches.

- Rathe is secretly a big ol sap, despite being a murderer. He was just desperate to be an elf. He's easily soothed by gentle words and touches. Also secretly sweet as hell.

- Actually about 7'4 ft tall and highly muscular, even if there's a thick layer of padding over that. His belly overtakes his frame though.

- If he really really likes you, he'll wrap his tail about you and he won't let go.

- He can sing but dragons don't sing for just anyone.

- Loves human food so much. Unsurprisingly.

- had a change of heart when he tried to kill his friend but she struck a stake left from a trap, and bled out anyways despite Rathemir trying to help her. He still performed the blood magic. He still sucks.

- The dragonling is the reincarnated soul of the friend he murdered. She will begin anew and Rathemir will be her father. So he has to live with what he did literally. It's his chance to give back instead of take.

Mauthiia-

- Tried for years to conceive a child with her husband, Naethril, but was unable to. Naethril, frustrated and upset, left her to go on a pilgrimage. Mauthiia refused to wait for him and went out on one of her own, to seem out Avhena, goddess of fertility.

-Was a rail thin little thing before Elwin got hold of her 🤎 Absolutely loved indulging

- Absolutely falls in love with Elwin And Rathemir both.

- Is pregnant with triplets and will be for 2 years. She will only grow.

-Will hold Rathemir's head in her lap as best she can to stroke his hair and sing him to sleep. It's a very touching scene. A cruel beast at the hands of an elvish lady 🧡🤎

☆Kaylin☆:  Kaylin Bowman moved to Saffron Bay a few years ago and is currently a foster mother raising six children, of different ages and backgrounds. She’s devoted her time to raising them and focuses less on other things like dating. In her free time, she paints or writes as she works in the Homemaker career and City Hall pays her to foster and raise children.

☆Marisol☆: Marisol Sheppard(14), is a young teen who was put into the foster care system by her parents who could no longer take care of her. She’s been from house to house, different towns, before finally landing in Saffron Bay and was immediately taken in by Kaylin who’s loved her ever since. Marisol is no longer in contact with her parents but has not stopped thinking about them ever since. She’s a smart kid and hopes to go either in a science or medical career and plays the piano as a part-time hobby.

☆Kadyn☆:  Kadyn Hernandez(12) is a young boy from France who was left behind by his father and thus put into the foster care system. He’s a shy boy who keeps to himself most of the time if Chana or Virginia aren’t bothering him. He longs to travel and visit not just France again but other places too. He spends a lot of his time in the treehouse that Kaylin had built for the kids and likes to stare up into space a lot. ☆Libby☆:  Libby Walker(10) is a young child who was found and adopted by Kaylin. She wasn’t born in Saffron Bay and came from another nearby town but was found wandering outside by herself late at night. She came from a tough family home and ran away to find her older sister who had gotten kicked out. She’s still on the hunt for her older sister but she’s thankful that she has a nice home to come to and Kaylin takes good care of her and her other siblings. She follows closely after Kaylin and wishes to run a daycare when she’s older.

☆Chana☆:  Chana Fuller(9) is the little troublemaker of the household. She’s constantly setting booby traps around the house and pulling pranks. Chana’s backstory is unknown but Kaylin suspects she came from a big unmanaged household, hence her anger issues and her mean personality. But she has high hopes for Chana. Chana may not do the best in school but she’s good at building her skills like cooking.

☆Virginia☆: Virginia Chang(7) was brought in at the same time as Kadyn and Chana. She’s really close with both of them and all three sort of act like triplets but from different families. She does great in school and is a quick and fast learner and strives to be friends with so many kids at school. She’s been begging Kaylin to get a pet for the family for so long.

☆Aileen☆: Aileen Castillo(2) was put into the foster care system when she was just born, as her mother died during childbirth and was her only guardian. Kaylin took her in the minute she heard about what happened and is searching for anyone related to Aileen so she knows whether or not she still has a biological family left.

Moon Dancer

Role: Major Character

Manual Info: She's that Moon Jumper guy's twin sister. She's a really good dancer!

Appearance: Moon Dancer, like her brother, has the same smoky blue skin and face but her crescent moon is flipped. She has bluish-golden yellow hair that she keeps in a bun. Her eyes are, instead of being red with black sclera and has rhombuses in the right one, hers are green with white sclera and has hearts in her left eye.

She wears a ballerina costume in shades of pastel pink, pastel purple, and white and a matching, multi-layered tulle skirt, a glittering silver tiara, a pair of white tights, a pair of pink and purple pointe shoes, and a white satin choker with a heart-shaped pink diamond centered on it.

Personality: Moon Dancer is described by others to be a polite spirit who treats everyone with respect. She is often seen dancing for the Subconites as a way to keep their hopes up. When Hat Kid, Bow Kid, Badge Boy, and Tie Teen are caught and forced into a contract by Snatcher, Moon Dancer suggests that she becomes their temporary guardian, showing that she has a soft spot for those who fall into Snatcher's traps.

In Vanessa's Manor, it is revealed in a diary entry that both her and Moon Jumper were Vanessa's siblings, as they were all triplets. When the Prince was thrown into the dungeon, Vanessa had both her brother and sister locked in separate places, being the attic and the old cabin turned tower that was a bit farther from the village. She ends up turning into Moon Dancer when her magic overtakes her mortal body and transforms her into a Spirit while the same happened to her brother who became Moon Jumper.

one thing i love about svsss is that we never had much info about the other peaks so it's basically a free for all for OC creation. that being said, i hc that SQH has one (1) female head disciple and three (3) inner disciples who are triplets.

SQH's head disciple is a no-nonsense young woman who assists SQH on his daily peak lord work. meanwhile, the triplet inner disciples are in charge of the other peaks. four (4) peaks for each of them so there's a proper delegation of tasks.  they all report to SQH at the end of the day.

the triplets are from a family of assassins who had a life debt owed to SQH because he once gave a member of their clan tips on how to grow their crops because a very specific PIDW monster used to terrorize their lands which left their people starving.

SQH’s head disciple came from a family of elite warriors (whom the triplets’ family serves) and her mother was once traveling in a caravan attacked by thugs while SQH was on his way making deliveries. he passed by the very pregnant woman trying to hide from her assailants and smuggled the woman on his cart to get her to safety.  

their families learned of SQH's ascension to peak lord and vowed to serve him by sending in their heirs, their very best.

listen, the real clincher here is SQH didn't know that his most trusted and favored disciples are OP assassins and warriors. he just thinks they're his cute little disciples who are always helpful and always makes sure to An Ding peak runs smoothly even when SQH is away.

SQH only learns about his disciples' OP backgrounds during, well, when MBJ came to cang qiong for the duels to be had in the process of picking up the "bride”, that is to say, SQH.

there was a bit of a squabble among the peak lords about who will challenge MBJ for SQH's honor because, despite whatever SQH thinks, his martial siblings actually care for him. LQG was adamant to be the challenger but it was decided that SQQ will face mbj considering he somehow seems to be the closest to SQH.

MBJ is ready to face the immortal master despite his reservations considering SQQ is LBH’s consort. perhaps this is why cang qiong has chosen SQQ. stiil, MBJ will face this difficult challenge for SQH. but when MBJ got to SQQ, the peak lord merely hummed and tapped him on the shoulder with the guard of his fan and said, "he's your problem now."

MBJ is a little confused but doesn’t question it and just bows to SQQ nonetheless. that was...unfathomably easy. he starts to think that this whole procession will be easy if the rest of the challenges will be nothing more than just for formalities. but then he got to An Ding and who should be standing there in challenge but SQH's inner disciples and his head disciple.

SQH, in the distance: my king! please go easy on my kids! 

MBJ, who took it to heart when sqh once said his disciples are like his children: this king will go easy on our children 

SQH: wait what

first up are the triplets, who attacked MBJ all at once and with deadly precision. they put up a good fight against the demon lord considering they're from a family of assassins. they use teleportation talismans to overwhelm MBJ on all sides. MBJ enjoys himself and defeats them by trapping them in ice cages.

the final challenger is SQH's head disciple. she smiled at MBJ pleasantly with a jovial wave and a greeting of, "hello, your highness! forgive this disciple's insolence but this is for shizun's honor after all!" MBJ just nods and waits for her to attack.

SQH's head disciple fought well and good enough for the fight to last half a shichen. it ends on a draw with her sword against MBJ's neck and an obsidian ice sword on hers. she smiles, taps out with a bow, and thanks mbj for going easy on her.

meanwhile, SQH is losing his shit! he honestly didn’t expect them to fight?? he just thought his cute disciples prepared silly games for his king!! how!! is he just finding out NOW?!! that his disciples are trained assassins and warriors?? no offense, this shizun loves you all dearly, but why are you guys in An Ding?? Bai Zhan peak is Right There!!

then they reveal their families' debts to SQH which of course he DOES NOT and CANNOT remember for the life of him lol 

SQH: where do u even find the time to train?! 

head disciple: oh, you don't have to think about that, shizun 

triplet 1: yeah! don’t worry you're pretty little head about it! 

triplet 2: the challenges are over! go and get married! 

triplet: his highness has been waiting long!

do other disciples cooperate more with An Ding now after witnessing SQH has assassins for inner disciples and a warrior for head disciple who just fought a demon? hell, yeah of course.  

does Bai Zhan try to recruit them? totally. they will remain in An Ding though thank you. but an invite for an occasional spar on their free time sounds nice. 

another thing SQH find funny about them is that...they actually like the monotony of An Ding work considering their backgrounds. An Ding is peaceful, steady, and routinary. they find comfort in that.

anyway, just imagine SQH with a literal trained protection squad and he doesn't even know it lol. MBJ is at peace knowing that SQH will always be safe wherever he is.

@belfryprepz Thanks for putting a book in my ask box!! I’ve had a few fanfics on my mind, it’s hard to pick just one to talk about. I recently revisited one I currently call “Here Comes the Trouble” which is a comedy (shocking considering that like 98% of my fics are pure uncut angst) inspired by Charlotte Dobre’s Bridezilla series on YouTube. The plot involves a lot of stuff about some OCs, so I recommend reading my “Burns Family Headcanons” post before this one to fully understand, but I’ll put in info about the OCs when I need it.

Part 1-

The plot starts with an in-story recap of some pre-plot events. It’s told to the audience that Heath has three adult sisters: Briana, Diana, and Susana. They’re bitchy (read: Karen) triplets born in that order, and per an old unstated tradition, Briana thinks she’s entitled to get married before Diana because of their birth order. Diana thinks that’s stupid, and happily says yes when her boyfriend proposes to her. Pissed that she didn’t get married before her “younger” sister, Briana was an absolute bitch to anyone within a 50 mile radius for the entire planning and actual wedding. The fact that Diana was a total bridezilla also made the situation about 10x worse. Briana ended up convincing her boyfriend to propose to her at Diana’s reception. Diana was enraged that Briana ruined her wedding by upstaging her at her own reception, and now that she’s planning her own wedding, is also being an absolute bitch to anyone within a 50 mile radius. And it turns out that Briana is an even bigger bridezilla than Diana was. All of this behavior is of course enabled by their entitled (read: Karen) parents and friends.

Trapped in the middle of all of this needless drama are Heath, Holt, and Jackson (and Holt and Jackson’s mom, Fiona Burns, but she’s not the focal point), who are sadly related to these people and were already begging for this dumpster fire to just end since the second it was started. Now they’re gonna have to relive the whole nightmare all over again plus some, before the first one has even had a chance to settle down. Fiona is putting on a brave face to deal with her brother and nieces, and the boys have just about had it with their family’s entitlement and rudeness. They’re hoping to lay low and ride out the storm from afar, but things take a turn when Briana starts insisting that Holt DJ her entire reception and is incredibly rude when he asks for some money to cover the costs of transport and the mixtapes. Fiona tiredly tries to convince him to just do it to “not cause drama and shut them up, because they’ll never hear the end of it from Briana and her mom Isabelle”, but Holt has had it! This is the last straw! He initially refuses and storms off to his room. But while he’s in there, he gets a deliciously horrible idea. So he goes back to his mom and apologizes for storming out, he’s rethought it and now agrees wholeheartedly to DJ the wedding for no cost whatsoever, much to her relief. He then messages Jackson and Heath with his idea and waits.

Since I can’t draw right now (it’s like 1 AM) I decided I’d just write things down about Domestic DUno AU (I still don’t have a proper name for it!!) so here we go~

Info below the cut to spare the mobile users my ramblings~~

BACKSTORY STUFF 

-Donald first became PK as a teenager (14 or 15), pulling petty pranks and avenging perceived wrongdoings. He ended up accidentally becoming a hero after stopping a thief and unknowingly saving a young girl’s life, and he realized he could direct his temper, anger and frustration not at making other people miserable, but at protecting others. Gyro, who went to school with Donald (Donald and Della attended a private school that would accommodate their adventure schedule; Gyro, being the absolute genius he is, attended on a scholarship) was there and ended up helping, being the one to inadvertently provide PK with the weapon he fended off the criminals with. PK talked to Gyro and the two became partners in crime-fighting that way.

-After deciding to become a hero, it was small-town villains mostly that he dealt with. Thieves, and the like. He didn’t start fighting mutants and those kinds of things until he was 17 or so, and the Evronians didn’t show up until he was 18. This is when Scrooge gave him a summer job at his newly acquired tower, figuring since Donald didn’t want to go with him and Della on a three-month adventure (as Donald was needed in Duckburg, he couldn’t be gone for three months!!) then he may as well work and earn a little money. As Duckworth was still alive, Duckworth was in charge of the manor, so Donald didn’t need to worry about upkeeping the mansion.

-Donald met Uno after a failed attempt to fight the Evronians, and they partnered up, with Uno providing Donald with otherworldly advanced tech that Gyro... would probably understand if given the time and chance (come on, he built a time machine out of a bathtub, he could totally understand future tech). After the first battle with the Evronians that Donald eventually wins, he realized that the game had just just 10x more dangerous. Between working on his doctorate and interning for Scrooge’s science department (something the scientists working for Scrooge were salty about), Gyro didn’t have much time to work on new and improved inventions for PK so when Uno contacted Gyro about him stepping down from helping PK, Gyro agreed, acknowledging that the mysterious Uno Ducklair would probably be a better benefactor for the hero. He didn’t know PK’s identity, though, so he didn’t take the memory erasing candy. Instead he focused on his work.

-Years passed this way, with Donald and Uno working together. Of course Donald had his other adventures, such as with Jose and Panchito and Mickey and all them lovely folks, but Uno was his closest confidante and biggest supporter. He was the one he vented his frustrations with Della and Scrooge to, and the one to give him advice on how to deal with it and talk to them about it all.

-At some point during this time, Gladstone finds out Donald is PK. Of course it happens in the typical Lucky way- him finding out saved Donald’s life. Gladstone is shaken up by the knowledge that his cousin/brother is in danger every day and has almost died multiple times. Gladstone becomes a sort of third member of the whole Crime Fighting thing, yep, you heard it right, Cloverleaf is real here. He figures if he’s out in the field with Donald, then Donald will never die because of Gladstone’s supernaturally good luck. Uno, while frustrated with Gladstone’s unpredictable and illogical luck, accepts this. Donald is less keen because he doesn’t want Gladstone in danger’s path but when the gander makes up his mind it’s made up, yo.

-PK and Cloverleaf (CL from here on out) and Uno work together for 3 years before the Spear of Selene incident, where Donald is suddenly left with three eggs. Donald’s priorities now shifted, he quits being a hero and buys the houseboat so he can raise the triplets without Scrooge’s influence. Gladstone does what he can to help while trying to continue to protect Duckburg, and while watching CL on the news Donald has the sudden realization that Duckburg still needs him- new parent or not. So he (metaphorically!!) throws the eggs into their pram, rushes to Ducklair Tower, begs Lyla to watch the eggs for him and rushes off to CL’s aid. 

-After the danger is over, Donald collects the eggs, thanks Lyla for her help, then meets up with CL and Uno on the 151st floor where they have a serious conversation. Donald acknowledges that Duckburg still needs PK, but Della’s children also need him. The three eventually come to the conclusion that the kids would be raised by PK and Uno there in the Tower, where they would be safe- and they would be trained so they’re ready for anything thrown at them. (Gladstone is actually the one who is like “nah cuz you be their dad I’m not cut out for that, I’ll be the cool uncle, I don’t wanna live in the tower! No offense Uno” so it isn’t like Donald just decided to leave him out of the parenting)

-The eggs hatch and Donald names them sensible (AKA not Della’s list) names (and pronounces Llewellyn correctly dammit) and Donald and Uno have a time learning hands-on how to be parents. (“I’ve read twenty different parenting guides in the last five seconds and they’re all saying different things, Donald, WHAT DO WE DO-”) The whole “raising kids together” thing brings them even closer than before and forces them to have a chat about their feelings, too. 

-When the triplets are small and starting to run around, Uno baby proofs everything. He has a hard time keeping them from escaping their playpen (which is essentially a huge room with an amazing view of the city, he doesn’t know why they’re so intent on escaping). Then eventually the inevitable happens- both Don and Glad end up stuck on the other side of the world for nearly a whole month, and Uno realizes taking care of three toddlers is much easier when you have a body. So while they’re gone, he balances his time between advising them on their mission, taking care of the triplets and building an android body that can handle an AI as advanced as him (throw out that “an AI who is only good could never make a full person” shit cuz Uno can be petty as hell, he’s a whole ass person even without Due yo). By the time Don and Glad get back he’s testing his prototype. Donald is thrilled, of course- his boyfriend has a body now!

-The triplets gain a sister! Everett brings a child to them one day, a little Coronan girl who was for reasons I haven’t decided yet cast out of her family and Everett, with his weird Enlightened Powers shit, went and found her and brought her back to the people he knew would take care of her well (considering his own past failures...). And so the triplets have a little sister who is an alien! Yee! Yes it’s Asveya (Ve). She came to them when she was ~2 and the triplets were 3 or 4, and as she didn’t have a name Donald named her after a friend he met as a child, when he regularly adventured with Scrooge and Della, and whom he ended up meeting again as a young adult.

-Uno perfects the body over time as he learns more things about being a person (he very purposefully leaves out pain receptors, though he includes the best parts of being a physical person ofc- he wants his cake and he wants to eat it too!). Everett decides now that Uno has a body, it was time to introduce him as his son officially and hand the business over to him (stating that it’ll be good for the kids if at least one of their parents had a proper job and income, since savings don’t last forever), and as the kids get older Donald begins training them so they’ll be able to take care of/protect themselves if need be. Uno creates a training field/obstacle course that is fun and age-appropriate, and by the time they’re ten they’re like little superheroes in training. They can give Webby a run for her money. Ve is less interested in being like PK and more interested in being like Uno- AKA the techie behind the gadgets.

-The triplets are already playing with some rudimentary pieces of tech Ve made, playing like they’re superheroes (or villains, gotta have someone to fight!). Uno finds out when he reviews the Tower footage and immediately confiscates anything that can be dangerous, but lets them keep the more innocent stuff.

MODERN DAY STUFF (AKA the time the show takes place)

-As the kids got older Donald and Uno allowed them more freedom, even letting them go out on their own (with the promise of being back before dark, not telling anyone what their parents did for a living, they all stuck together and they didn’t speak to strangers beyond what was necessary). When the triplets were 10 and Ve was 8 or 9, Uno learned that a powerful artifact (not the gem) was in Atlantis and that if a villain got their hands on it, it would be... very bad. So Donald decides it’s time to put on his metaphorical adventure shoes again and go get it. By this time Gladstone got trapped in the casino (Uno has been looking for him, after not hearing from him for over a week) and Uno had a Big Business thing to attend, real important too, so they talk about getting a babysitter for the weekend they’ll be gone. The kids manage to convince them they don’t need one, as they’ll be safe in the 151st floor (“We’ll be safer there than anywhere else, right, Uncle Uno?”). Donald tried to call Lyla but she was unfortunately in the field, so he agreed to let them stay home on their own until Uno got back (Uno did the math and figured he could stay for a few hours to just make a good faith appearance, talk business with some stooges and then come home the same day).

-Of course, the kids get caught. Uno had already left out for his business thing at like 5 AM, and Donald was about to head out to Atlantis in one of the Duckmobiles. He happened to check on a whim the back of the mobile, where he found his surprised ducklings staring wide-eyed up at him. He knew then that he needed to cash in on a favour- he called Beakley and then drove the protesting children to the mansion. (“Come on, Unca’ Donald!” “It’s a mansion! We wanna go to the lost city, too!” “Come on, we’ve been doing real good in training!” “Please, dad? We promise we’ll listen!”) The excitement over meeting THE Scrooge McDuck is overshadowed by the disappointment that they can’t go on this mission.

-Besides, who cares about a mansion and a rich adventuring duck when your parents and uncle are not only rich adventurers, but they’re also superheroes???

-Donald gives them a forehead kiss goodbye and heads off, and Scrooge has Beakley put the kids in that old room. “It’ll only be a few hours” they said. “Until Uno gets back.” Unfortunately, Uno calls Louie and tells the duckling there’s been a problem and he won’t be back until later- Donald already informed him of the changed arrangements and he’s already contacted Beakley.

-The kids decide to escape the old room, putting their hero training into action, but are ultimately swept up into Webby’s trap. Webby is super excited to meet them when she realizes who they are (though she has no idea who Ve is), and she cuts them down from the net without them having to escape themselves. The kids know they’re not supposed to let anyone know about the “hero family” thing so try to act like normal kids, though it becomes apparent Webby doesn’t know how to be a normal kid either.

-Through shenanigans, the children inspire Scrooge to adventure again, and Dewey lets slip about lost cities and Scrooge has a moment of realization. Thus, he drags the kids to Atlantis with him. While there, the kids each get a chance to show off their moves (which they’re SUPPOSED TO HIDE but you know, when arrows are flying at you ain’t got no time to hide). Donald is pissed when he notices them in Atlantis, and Uno is pissed when he calls Donald and learns the kids are in Atlantis, right where they are NOT supposed to be.

-Things pretty much follow the episode, though with the triplets able to hold their own and Donald gunning for a completely different artifact. When they escape and get back to the surface with their respective artifacts, they’re met by a livid android who absolutely chews Scrooge out for dragging four ten year olds and an eight year old to a dangerous place like that.

-Donald decides that it might be okay for the kids to visit with Scrooge sometimes, to get a little real-world experience, and at precisely that moment something crashes into the 151st floor of Ducklair Tower. Uno is absolutely furious (“MY TOWER???”) cuz that’s gonna take a bit to fix- at the very least it’ll appear to take a while- and when the kids question “what now?” Scrooge offers up some rooms in the mansion. The kids are excited cuz they’ll get to live with Webby and explore a new place. Donald and Uno say “just until the tower is fixed” (Gladstone had Donald’s boat at the time he went missing so Donald doesn’t have it) which is good enough for the kids.

-Scrooge being sus of Uno for like a whole arc cuz he’d never heard of Uno Ducklair before recently and also his nephew?? got married??? 

-Gladstone finally gets a message out to Don and Uno for help, and they go immediately- but not before Scrooge makes it a family adventure. Scrooge is disparaging of Gladstone, but Donald is just worried about his cousin. They manage to save Gladstone without pseudo-sacrificing anyone. Scrooge gets a little sus when they get back to Duckburg, and days later the missing Cloverleaf has shown up again. 

-HDLV ended up spilling the truth to Webby as she got closer with them, but they swore her to secrecy. Of course Beakley found out because Webby is a terrible liar.

**So basically Donald + Uno parents, a kid that calls them her dads, good Uncle Gladstone, Brotherly Gladstone + Donald, Competent Cloverleaf, PK + Cloverleaf teamup, little-hero triplets. Gyro will end up teaming up with Gizmoduck when Fenton takes up heroing, too, just like Launchpad teams up with DW (DW’s story for this AU will be different, also, just a heads up) and basically all their combined kids become a badass team of children (Huey, Dewey, Louie, Webby, Ve, Boyd, Gos, and of course Lena and Violet join in later...) Gyro teams up with Gizmoduck because every hero needs a tech guy (even heroes who are also scientists....) and he’s not only very capable, he’s worked with a hero before so he knows the ins and outs :D

However it is now 2 AM and I need to sleep so I’m gonna end my musings here but I am thinking of them so much right now I’m

Stuff I noticed at Snow Queen Fire & Ice and Miraculous Ladybug 😀

I just had to. Even if it is a waste of time. 😅I've done one a long while ago between Miraculous and Monster Buster Club. This one had to be done as well, all just because of those small, little spirits 🥺😥

To be clear, I’m not comparing it to what is better and whatnot. I’m comparing the similarities between the two. The spirits there made me think of the kwamis? Funny I didn't pay attention to it at first xD But then the fun part came......Three times I have watched the movie and I suddenly began to think......Hmm Gerda has the creation powers like Ladybug and Rollan destruction......Holy brick! They could be the lovesquare as well if they had added more romance into it 😂 How did I not see? (It's because you saw Kristanna mixed with Hansanna you nut)

So where do I start? Well just to summarize the shows for those who don’t know one/both of them:

Short info about both, if unfamiliar:

Miraculous Ladybug is a French animated TV show, that debuted in 2015 and is set in the modern metropole Paris and is focused on the lives of the clumsy Marinette Dupain-Cheng and the famous teeny-model Adrien Agreste. Both wield special magical jewelry, which is called a “Miraculous” which they use to transform into the superheroes “Ladybug and Cat Noir”  The two don’t know each other’s identity, but funnily Adrien has a huge crush on Ladybug and in the civilian life he sees her as just a friend, while Marinette is obsessed with Adrien and sees Cat Noir only as his trustful crime-fight partner. Both students are around 14 years old in the show.

As superheroes they fight villains, that were akumatized by Hawk Moth. (He owns the butterfly miraculous, with which he can create supervillains by sending an akuma (Butterfly jinxed by Hawk Moth’s magic) and Hawk Moth’s miraculous sends people’s negative feelings such as anger, sadness and disappointment and uses his akumas to follow them and akumatize them and they’re transformed by Hawk Moth into a specific-themed supervillain.

Snow Queen 3: Fire and Ice (Release year: 2016)

Snow Queen 3: Fire and Ice is the third installment of the Russian franchise "The Snow Queen" It consisted currently out of 4 movies, an upcoming 5th installment, and a pre-school TV show. The first movie came out in 2012 and was also the studio's very first movie.

Resume from the first two movies is the young girl Gerda, which lost her parents to the Snow Queen makes her way through the entire snow lands to find her younger brother Kai, which was kidnapped y the north wind. With help of Orm, Snow Queen's servant she makes her way up to the Palast and defeats her, saving her brother and waking up Orm's eyes to a "better world" The sequel is focused on Orm's continuation, which makes a promise to never lie again and this promise made a reflection of himself come to life and appear near him, when he had no idea, what to do with life issues. The more he began to create white lies and bigger lies, the more life his reflection gained until he was able to get out to the real world. The reflection, which calls itself "The Snow King" tricks Orm and leads a fight against Troll warriors by sending his ice-made minions. Gerda was the last warrior to enter and make it to the main hall of the palace to miss Orm, which was fading away due to Snow King's existence and he pretends to be an injured Orm, which is warmly embraced by the girl, but then gets frozen by him, not realizing she had fallen into a trap. When things were over for everyone and the bad guys had won, Orm figured out how he would make everything okay by confessing his mistakes, which erased Snow King from existence and unfroze all warriors and friends again, which were angered at the naive troll.

This is lowkey spoiler-free. I didn't want to go into much detail here, but I would suggest you watch these movies, mostly no. 2 and 3, which are really worth seeing. As well you can see the first and see how much the studio had improved since the first up to the 2 and 3 one.

The Fire and Ice one, I'm supposed to be talking about happens a few years later, Gerda and Kai left the orphanage to go live on their own and make money to be able to at least be able to eat. Their last visit didn't make any profit and they took a ride with an old friend of theirs Alfida (The Robber girl) to pass the night by Orm, their troll friend, which had matured and was responsible to babysit the triplets of his cousin. On said night, a Spanish boy named Rollan shows up by his doorstep and is introduced to the visitors as a friend he met shortly. After the dinner ended in a disaster Kai and Gerda split and Rollan followed Gerda to give her rights, then bonded with her from being looking for his mother as well and introduces her to a map with an artifact called "The Wishing Stone" which grants any wish. Gerda agrees in tagging along and together they make it to survive the dangerous tomb encountering the wishing stone. Fact is the wishing stone was something else and this is where the powers of the Snow Queen and the Fire Demon were kept and due to Gerda and Rollan's touch on the stone, it had awakened the spirits, getting the two infected with the powers of said villains. Soon as they find out with Orm what happened, they need to get back to the tomb to retrieve the powers before the north star rises and makes their transformation complete, which means both would lose their soul/bodies to the villain. .

The "Alter egos"

Marinette is the face behind Ladybug and Adrien wears the mask of Cat Noir.

Gerda is possessed with the ice-powers of the Snow Queen and Rollan wields the fire-power of the Fire Demon.

Gerda and Marinette share the creation ability, while Adrien and Rollan are responsible for the destruction. They're each other's opposites.

Differences: Gerda and Rollan are aware of each other's identity and recognize each other's faces, despite small differences. Adrien and Marinette don't know each other's hero identity and weirdly have minor differences in their looks.

Marinette and Adrien's personality as heroes is quite different from their civilian ones, while Gerda and Rollan's don't seem any different.

It's unknown if, during the time Rollan and Gerda are under possession, their personalities are slightly altered by the villains or not. Rollan is shown to get quickly tempered with Gerda's friend, when it comes to their mishap, which usually turns into arguments.

Gerda with Rollan. Rollan's seems more relaxed with pressuring into retrieving the powers back, unlike Gerda. Rollan's easy tempter with Orm, when he's blamed for his issues annoys her as well. Gerda has shown interest in Rollan since the night she has met him and they bonded over the night when heading to the forbidden Tomb. Rollan has shown interest in her as well, but not as much as her.

Chapter 8: Auditions

A few weeks passed, and it was the week of auditions. Logan had eagerly joined the astronomy club, making a few other friends. Patton had joined the cooking club, becoming a favorite of Mrs. Calypso with ease. She’d given him a recipe to try at home, with permission from his father, of course.

Which lead him to now. He was working on mixing his ingredients in a bowl, listening to Roman do his monologue.

“If, however, your feelings have changed, I will have to tell you: you have bewitched me, body and soul, and I love, I love, I love you. I never wish to be parted from you from this day on.” Roman finished, before doing a little bow. “How was that?”

“That was amazing, Ro!” Patton squealed, putting the mixing bowl down and running over to hug him. “You’re definitely going to get a part!”

“Yeah, not bad, Roman.” Virgil said as he walked in from the entryway.

Roman whirled around. “When did you get here?”

“Just now. I heard the last bit.” Grabbing his water bottle, Virgil chugged a good portion of it. When it was empty, he unscrewed the cap and put it in the sink. “Pat’s right, there’s no way they won’t give you a part.”

“I’m glad you guys think so.”

The twins turned toward him in sync. Patton was the first to break the short silence. “Do you not think you’ll get a part?”

“I know I want a part, but that doesn’t mean that I’ll get one.” Roman’s shoulders were starting to droop. “What if there’s enough people better than me? I know there’s a ton of leads in the cast, but that doesn’t guarantee me a part, you know? And if I do get a lead, there might be some seniors that get mad that they didn’t get a part.”

Virgil sat on the stool next to him. “Roman, you’ve never cared what people think of you. Why start now?”

“What?”

“You’re one of the most outgoing people I’ve met in my entire life.” Virgil explained, turning to fully face him. “I’m a little jealous that you’re brave enough to just go for things, no matter what the outcome might be. You were in the play and did amazing. I’m sure Mx. Stokes and Principal Sanders are going to remember that. Just go up there and do your best.”

Glancing up, Virgil caught his dad hovering in the doorway. Emile smiled and gave Virgil a thumbs up before heading down the hall and out of sight.

“Can I hug you?” Roman asked, already halfway off the stool.

With a sigh, Virgil opened up his arms, hugging Roman back with force.

“Thank you.” Roman said once they pulled apart from each other. “Now go take a shower, you smell.”

The temptation to show Roman a choice finger was there, but Virgil caught the look Patton was giving him from across the island. Instead, he lightly stepped on Roman’s toes as he left the room, not bothering to hide his laughter when he heard Roman’s dramatics from down the hall.

Once the day of auditions rolled around, Roman was exceptionally nervous.

“It’s normal to be nervous for something like this.” Virgil said as they ate lunch. “Just let the nerves melt away when you get onstage and you’ll be good.”

“What if they don’t melt away?”

Virgil whacked him with his fruit by the foot. “Stop being so anxious, that’s my role in this friend group.”

When Roman started laughing, they were all relieved to see some of the tension melt from him.

Once the final bell had rung, Virgil headed to track practice. Auditions weren’t until four, which gave some of the students time to head home and eat if they needed to.

“Coach Leo?” He asked as he walked onto the track.

The coach looked up from his clipboard with a smile. “Virgil! How is my track star?”

Virgil flushed at the nickname. “Alright. Um, there’s auditions today and I was hoping to go for moral support.”

Coach Leo nodded. “No worries. We’re having a short practice today, with plenty of time for you guys to hit the showers before auditions. There’s plenty of kids here that do track and act, so we do our best to work the schedules out.”

“Oh, that’s awesome! Thanks.”

Once practice was over, and they had info about their first meet that weekend, the team headed for the locker room.

Virgil quickly realized he hadn’t showered in here yet, and he really didn’t want to. But if he didn’t shower, he risked smelling awful during auditions.

“Hey, V!” Ted’s voice cut through his thoughts. “I’m heading home to shower quickly and then coming back to watch Tanya’s audition. Need a ride?”

Thanking his lucky stars, Virgil nodded. “Yes, please.”

The two of them beelined for the front of the school, knowing they only had half an hour to be back before auditions started.

Mrs. Task was waiting in her van, a bit surprised when Virgil climbed in after Ted. “Oh! Virgil, good to see you.”

“Is it alright if Virgil rides with us?”

“Oh, of course!” Mrs. Task said, pulling out of the parking spot. Glancing up, she met Virgil’s eyes in the rearview mirror. “Honey, anytime you need a ride, just find one of the triplets. It’s no trouble in the slightest.”

“Thank you.” Virgil picked at his backpack. “I haven’t showered there yet and I won’t if I can help it.”

Ted nodded, pulling a granola bar out of a side pocket and munching down. “Dude, I feel you. I’m not going to be the victim of a towel whipping.”

Soon enough, Mrs. Task pulled into her driveway. Virgil raced across the grass, giving a thumbs up as Ted said they’d be leaving in twenty minutes.

By four o’clock, he was entering the auditorium with Ted. Patton waved from where he and Logan were seated.

“Did you want to sit with us?” Virgil asked, waving in the direction of his brother.

Ted shook his head. “Nah. Thanks though.”

He headed off to find his own friends. Virgil took his seat next to Patton, jumping slightly when the lights were lowered and raised.

“Alright, we’ll be starting auditions here in two minutes.” Mx. Stokes said, a microphone easily carrying their voice across the buzzing auditorium. “First up is going to be Tanya Task.”

“Hell yeah!” Came Ted’s cry, earning a giggle through the audience.

Tanya was more than happy to go first. Once she got the signal from Principal Sanders, she launched into it. Patton gasped when he realized it was the speech from the end of Legally Blonde.

A few more people went, some doing well and others not. Roman was one of the last few people to go.

When he reached center stage, he glanced over at his friends. Virgil could see how nervous he was. Patton and Logan each gave him a thumbs up, but Virgil let out a loud whoop. Ted echoed it back from the other side and soon the audience was cheering.

With a huge smile on his face, Roman went through his monologue. He captivated the audience, the rise and fall of his voice perfectly matching the tone of the words.

As soon as he’d finished, there was an uproarious applause. Beaming, Roman gave a small bow and headed to his friends to watch the final few auditions.

After the final person finished, Mx. Stokes flicked the microphone on again. “We have a very talented bunch for this musical. Give yourselves a hand!”

Once the applause died down, they continued. “Thomas and I have our work cut out for us. We’ll take the weekend to go over your auditions and post the cast list on Monday before school. Thank you and have a great weekend!”

People started filing out of the auditorium, heading outside to get picked up by their parents.

All four of their phones went off at the same time.

“Dad’s wondering if we can ask the Tasks for a ride home.” Patton read off the screen, squinting through his glasses. “He has a late client.”

“Our dad said to either walk or find a ride.”

Across town, Remy slipped his phone back into his pocket. He’d been meaning to give his sons a ride home, but it was taking him longer at the library than he’d expected.

Looking at the slip of paper in his hand, he headed to the 520s.

“Oh shit.” He mumbled, realizing there were a lot more books on astronomy than he’d thought.

Knowing he could only check out a limited number of books due to his lateness in the past, he grabbed the first four he saw and headed toward the front desk.

“Remy?” 

Emile Picani stood in the front area of the library, looking at the stack of books in his arms. “Do you need some help with those?”

“I guess I could use some help.”

Emile took the top two books off the stack, following Remy to the check out desk. The librarian took their books.

“Library card?”

Remy handed it over. “What are you doing here?”

“I had a late client, and then I decided to stop by and grab the boys and myself a few books. It’s supposed to storm all day on Sunday so I figured we could turn on the fireplace and read.”

“Sir? You have fines on this card.” The librarian said, holding it in the air. “I’m afraid I can’t allow you to check anything out until they’re paid.”

Remy sighed. “How much?”

“It totals to $30.43.”

“Crap.” Remy pulled out his wallet, finding no cash. “You can just put those back then, I’ll pay off the fines and come back for those later.”

“Are those astronomy books?” Emile asked, picking one of them up.

“Yeah, I was hoping to understand at least some of what Logan talks to me about.” Remy slid his wallet back in his pocket, grabbing his keys instead. “Roman’s been over at your place most of the time, so Logan doesn’t have anyone to talk to except for me.”

The sad look on Remy’s face tugged at Emile’s heartstrings. Before he could think he had his wallet out, handing two twenties over to the receptionist. “I’ll pay the fines.”

“Emile -”

“You’re just trying to understand your son. That’s admirable.” The librarian handed the change back to Emile, who put it away. “You can just pay me back later. Deal?”

Lore

Lugh (pronounced Loo), is a Celtic (Irish) God of many many many talents (or skills). He is the god of oaths, granting domain over rulers and nobility. A god of justice in many forms, often without mercy. A sun god (as he was worshiped as such) as well as a fierce warrior. Let’s not stop there, he was also known as a god of storms, in particular to thunderstorms. Last, but certainly not least a god of light and god of all arts and crafts. 

Despite some of his wholesome roles, Lugh has also been known to be a trickster, willing to lie, steal, and cheat to overcome his opponents. This is quite the contrast to his son Cú Chulainn who is born later in his lore.

“What are his talents?” one may ask, his talents just to name a few are those of a carpenter, a master blacksmith, a warrior, poet, harpist, scientist, physician, sorcerer, and sculptor. He is one who can do all of these. Due to his many talents Lugh is typically associated with the Greek god Hermes/Roman god Mercury and to some degree Apollo through his association with Lugus. Then there the possibility of him also being a triple god comprising of the Gaulish gods Esus, Toutatis, and Taranis.

He associated with the raven, crow, and lynx, and has a magical hound. Aside from this Lugh has several magical weapons as his disposal including an invincible Spear, one of the treasures of the Tuatha Dé Danann. The spear is said to never missed its target (sound familiar?) was called Gae Assail, Areadbhar, or “the Slaughterer” (depending the writing). It said the spear was so bloodthirsty it would often try to fight without its owner. According to other stories would fight anyone wielding it. Due to Lugh being a god known for his many skills he was called many things such as Lugh Lámhfhada (Lugh of the Long Arm), Lleu Llaw Gyffes (Lleu of the Skillful Hand), Samildánach (Skilled in All the Arts), Lonnbeimnech (fierce striker, sword-shouter) or Macnia (boy hero).

Descended from two bloodlines, Lugh is the son of Cian, the son of Dian Ced, healer of the Tuatha Dé Danann and Ethniu, the daughter of King Balor of the dreaded Fomorians. Cian had disguised himself as a Druidess entered Balor’s stronghold, where Eithne (Balor had his daughter locked up for reasons…) lived and seduced her. In time this fruitful relationship between Cian and Eithne produced triplets. Due to a prophecy from a druid that said Balor would be killed by the hands of a grandson. The main reason to why he locked up his daughter to begin with. Practically had her raised in a tower being unaware of men.

In order to avoid the prophecy from coming true Balor gathers the triplets into a blanket and orders them to be drowned in a whirlpool. Lugh is the only to have survive his would be death. As luck would have it the messenger that had carried him and his siblings to their death had unwittenly dropped him in the harbor where he rescued by Biróg. She brings the baby Lugh to her father and the father then gives him to his brother, Gavida the smith, in fosterage.

Gavida is one of many foster parents to Lugh as his foster parents varies depending on different stories: the Irish sea god, Manannán mac Lir; Tailtiu, Queen of the Firbolg; and of course, Gavida, god of the smiths.

When still a young man Lugh had travelled to the Hill of Tara to join the court of King Nuada, the high king of Ireland. Lugh wanted to join the Tuatha Dé Danann in their fight against the Fomorian King Balor. King Balor had been governing the Tuatha dé Dananna unfairly. He wanted to join them despite being half Fomorian. Due to being half of a hated enemy he wasn’t particularly trusted.

One day he arrived at the gate of King Nuada’s palace as a stranger. At first he was denied entrance into the hall, because no one could enter (or were admitted) without being the master of some craft. The gatekeeper doing his job inquired about Lugh’s profession and the conversation between them proceeded as such:

“I am a carpenter,” said the stranger.

The gatekeeper replied that the king already had a skilled carpenter and had no need of another.

“Then tell the king I am a master smith.”

“We already have a smith,” answered the gatekeeper.

“Then I am a warrior, too,” said the stranger.

“We do not need one,” replied the gatekeeper. “The great Ogma is our champion.

”The stranger proposed all possible professions he mastered, even poet, harpist, scientist, physician, sorcerer and sculptor. Each time, he was told that the king Nuada already had such a professional at court.

“Then ask the king,” said the stranger (Lugh) to the gatekeeper, “if he has with him a man of all these crafts at once, for if he has, there is no need for me at Tara…”

With this Lugh had managed to charm his way into the court and into the highest position one could possess in the court of a king: that of the Chief Ollam. This position afforded Lugh much of the same reputation and attributes only afforded to the king.

Lugh would eventually become the salvation (or bring it) for the Tuatha dé Danann. Nuada had put Lugh in charge of the coming war against the Fomorians. With Lugh being determined the Tuatha dé Nuada take an offensive stance rather than a defensive one to approach Fomorians. The war could not proceed when the First Battle of Moytura took place in the Country of Galway against the Firbolg. It was during this battle that Nuada had lost his hand, forcing him to step down as High King, because a kingdom could not be blemished. His replacement was a Bres, a half-Fomorian (or Fomorian-favoring) who ended up delaying the against his kin.

Meanwhile Cian had met his end by the hands of Tuireann, his great foe. The sons of Tuireeann’s, Brain, Iuchar, and Iucharba had hunted down Cian. At the time Cian had transformed into a big. Before the final blow was struck upon his person, Cian had turned back into his human form. This would grant Lugh a right to seek revenge for his father. The sons attempted to bury Cian, but twice the ground spat him back up. They managed to bury him on the third try. It was by chance that Cian came upon his father’s grave. Lugh asked the ground who laid there and replied it was his father’s grave. From there he started to plot his revenge.

Revenge was set into motion when he invited the sons of Tuireann to a grand feast. Unaware of what was about to happen to them a question was asked what they would require if someone murdered their father. Of course, they replied that death was only answer. Surprise surprise, falling into his trap like he thought they would, Lugh revealed he was Cian’s heir and demanded the same justice. Being a god of games, a series of tasks was given and each task was overcome. The last and final task given was an impossible one and Tuireanna pleaded for mercy on his sons, Lugh unfortunately for Tuireanna, would not relent. The final task wounded each of them and Lugh had withheld their magic pigskin that would have healed the wounds. This was how the Tuireann’s sons had died. In his own grief Tuireann died as well giving Lugh the justice and victory over his father’s enemies.

Even though Bres’ was married to Brigid of the Tuatha, the Tuatha dé Danann were enslaved once more. This further injured the already strenuous relationship between the two groups. Bres’ reign lasted for twenty-seven years.

Lugh’s grandfather and uncle crafted a silver hand and then a hand of flesh for Nuada, thus removing his blemish. He then took back the throne from Bres and Bres was than exiled. After Lugh had finished planning for the war he sought the council of the Phantom Queen, the Mórrígan. A Second Battle of Magh Tuireadh then took place.

During the battle Nuada was beheaded by Balor of the Evil Eye, but Lugh had managed to secure their victory in the end. He had killed Balor with a sling-stone and shot him straight in the eye that sank into Balor’s brain and then cut of his head. This incident wrecked chaos among the Fomorian soldiers and fulfilled the prophecy saying that Balor would be killed at his grandson’s hand. Lugh was placed in power and Bres was subjected to teaching the Fomorian enemies the skills of harvest. This was a very menial and insulting task compared to his once all-powerful position.

Lugh became King and reigned over a united Ireland.

Bres was eventually killed in the form of hospitality of receiving three hundred wooden cows filled with poisoned red milk. He didn’t deny the hospitality and drank each pail of milk without hesitation and died.

Eventually Lugh would meet his own end after his wife Buach took Cermait, son of the Dagda, as a lover. Cermait was then killed by Lugh upon discovering this affair. In turn Lugh was drowned in a lake by Cermait’s three sons who had sought their vengeance against him. The lake Lugh was drowned in was named Loch Lugborta. Lugh’s ruled lasted for forty years with his end marking the decline of the Tuatha dé Danann.

In death, Lugh dwelled in Tír na nÓg, at times appearing in the mortal world. Due to this he had sired the Irish war hero of the Ulster Cycle Cú Chulainn with a maiden by the name of Deichtine. He later appeared to his son during the Cattle Raid of Cooley, healing him over three days during battle.

Weapons

Aside from his spear called, Gae Assail, Areadbhar, or “the Slaughterer” depending on text. Lugh also possessed a sling-stone that he used to kill Balor. 

Apart from those items, Lugh had affiliations with Manannán mac Lir, God of the Sea, through some of his other instruments. He had a horse forged by Manannán allowing it to pass over land and through the ocean. He was also in possession of Manannán’s sword, “the Answerer” after Manannán’s death. Aside from those mention Lugh has other powerful objects at his disposal.

Lugh had many wives, including Buí and Nás, daughters of Ruadri, King of Britain, as well as Echtach, Englic, and Rosmerta.
