to everyone’s shock, Eddie Munson is incredibly organized when it comes to taking trips. he has an itinerary and a packing list, and he’s got his budget figured out weeks in advance. even the smallest road trip for the weekend is planned in great detail so there’s no surprises.

even more shocking is that Steve Harrington is the exact opposite. he closes his eyes and points to a place on a map one day and buys a plane ticket the next. he packs the night before and almost always forgets something because he didn’t make a list and didn’t research the weather patterns for the area.

they drive each other absolutely batty the first few times they travel together.

but then Steve is pointing at a small island near scotland and Eddie is calling airlines and one of only two bed and breakfasts on the island. Steve is setting aside their money for the trip while Eddie packs after calling Jeff’s mom, who vacationed in scotland when all her kids grew up and left the nest.

it all comes together somehow, the two of them making the perfect combination of chaos and control.

when they arrive in scotland, ready to take the ferry to the island, Steve reaches in his backpack for his map of the island and freezes. it’s not there. it’s not in Eddie’s bag either.

it’s one of their most prized possessions for this trip and he lost it.

Eddie comes back from talking to the ferry operator holding a piece of paper and smiling despite the heavy mist descending on them.

it’s the map.

Steve hides his sigh of relief, smiling back.

“you dropped this,” Eddie says casually.

“oh, did I?”

Eddie’s only response is shoving it in his own bag.

yeah, it’s probably best he hold onto that.

it’s not the only time during that trip that Steve messes up one of their plans on accident.

he buys breakfast one morning instead of eating the free one at their bed and breakfast.

“it’s in the name, Steve!”

“I wanted a croissant, Eddie!”

he forgets their rain jackets when they go on a walking tour of the coast and it inevitably rains.

“wet denim isn’t ideal for walking tours, Stevie.”

“I’m well aware, Eds.”

but no matter what, Eddie always gives him that smile. the one that lets him know it’s okay that he’s a little chaotic with this stuff. it’s okay that he’s a little forgetful and more focused on the fun than the making sure everything’s right.

because love is about balance and in every area, that’s exactly what they do.

anyway the other day my ex-coworker was saying how she’s never been to nyc and I had to hold back the instinct of ‘we should plan a trip’ because while I genuinely would like to, that would’ve come from auntie impulse. sister was saying ‘yeah you need a little sister trip not an auntie trip. I think you need to find someone with more auntie energy than you’ and I think she’s right. I need an omelas auntie.

When she's not running around as Ninja or Summoner , Arsay's next choice is the lance. Being bestowed a source of draconic power by Midgardsormr moments before his slumber, and knowing how to channel the powers of Bahamut with dreadwyrm trance, Arsay's power as a Dragoon rivals that of even the former Azure Dragoon. With that said, she'd much rather use her polearm to hunt monsters.

thinking about taking a little bit of a step back from social media for a bit for mental/physical health reasons (as in: chronic severe anxiety is causing chronic health issues and I need to remove stress Somehow). consider sanuso bodyswap where Sanji is of course "admiring" Usopp's body and Usopp is trying desperately to keep himself from getting worked up so that he doesn't light himself on fire.

Luffy and Chopper are not helping. They are in fact doing the opposite of helping. They've ramped up their pranks and are doing anything possible to get Usopp angry so that he combusts, freaks out, and then dives into the ocean to put himself out. They think it's hilarious.

Nami and Brook are Also not helping, since they're conspiring with Sanji to put on a fashion show with Usopp's body. Sanji called it "not wasting a precious opportunity to get him in something other than overalls". Usopp called it mutiny and he was gonna- dive into the ocean, holy fuck Sanji why is it so easy to catch fire?!

Best part about this is that Sanji assured him, several times, that his body doesn't get hurt by catching fire. Usopp still jumps into the ocean every time.

Robin pipes up at one point, asking if Sanji was immune to just his own flames or all flames. Sanji just kind of shrugs and said it depends. Franky, having just been leisurely watching all of this gets an idea. Would his Franky Fireball hurt Sanji's body or just give him more fire to work with?

He tries to coax Usopp into agreeing to test it out and, somehow, he manages it. Albeit, Usopp is all knocking knees and chattering teeth, a very odd sight from 'Sanji'. As part of the deal though, he can only shoot a fireball the size of his hand.

Usopp meant his small hand. The one Franky used for tinkering and fine detail work. He did not, however, clarify this.

So, when a fireball the size of Franky's big hand comes out, well. Usopp runs for his goddamn life.

It takes him a few moments- and the voices of his friends sounding distant and below him- to realize he hadn't, in fact, run to the men's quarters, but rather into the fucking sky.

And oooooh, boy he is gonna kill Sanji one of these days. Why was his body's first fucking instinct when running to go up, what the actual HELL-

Usopp lit himself on fire again.

He curses out Sanji as his Sky Walk fails in the same moment and he plummets towards the deck.

still thinking about the Thalla fight because. what ACTUALLY happened in my playthrough was that both Kai and Marius went down, and I forgot my heal/revive so Cynewulf proceeded to take the ogre down by herself, with her little bow and her little dodge, and then she ducked back into the alley where the fight started, revived her buddies, regenerated some health and then they went back out on the street and killed the rest of the Sparrowhawks together.

and like. I keep thinking about Kai and Marius coming to and realizing that not only is the envoy not dead, she has taken Thalla down on her own, David and Goliath-style (holy shit his corpse is right there and he has no eyeballs left to speak of, it's all arrows), and all she needs is like. to take a breather.

like I think maybe at this point the realization occurs that the funny pink mushroom girl is also one of the emperor's most deadly people. like she's had a rough start in Dawnshore but she is, in fact, capable of both Incredible Killing and Incredible Survival and now that the adjustment period is over we're starting to see her actual capabilities and it's kind of a lot.

I also think she might get into the Paradisan spirit (by which I mean: violence and power plays) and like. cut off Thalla's head and nail it to a wall someplace prominent. to send a little message. you know she's really getting sick of being talked down to and jumped on the streets Go Back To Aedyr-style
