*Shamal teaching Gokudera how to drive*
Gokudera: No I can’t do that, that would be giving the enemy information about my next move
Shamal: Hayato it’s a turn signal, it’s supposed to give information about your next move

i like the idea of Shamal being a genius who plays at incompetence
Pretending to be a bigger lech than he is because if you’re TOO useful you get your knee caps busted but if you aren’t useful enough you don’t get any work
Unfortunately for his desire to live a comfortable life in the wake of the disaster that befell his chosen family at the hands of Sunshine, Gokudera is the Decimo’s whether Tsuna inherits that title or not, and everyone knows that Gokudera Hayato was Shamal’s first before he was Tsuna’s. Never his father’s.

The fanon Midnight treatment is, as I understand it, turning her around into "I dress how I like and other people sexualize me for it but I'm going to use that as a weapon and campaign for more awareness and respect for this sort of thing."
For Shamal it could be about how growing up kind of pretty in the Mafia, especially as an independent, was dangerous and violating and as a result he copes by trying to completely in control of his sexuality, i.e. being the one to pursue instead of pursued, but it'd really help if he got some better coping mechanisms.
Question: thoughts on Shamal?
I’m frankly always torn cause he’s a pervert but like… he’s also scary competent.
He’s such an interesting character and if the perv angle was tweaked a bit he could be so much more fun. Like I think his relationship with Hayato could be explored so much more and we get so many glimpses of him actually showing how much he cared that are just never followed up on. Not to mention the fact he fights with mosquitoes carrying incurable diseases specifically because he is chronically ill and learned to make it work for him. that’s so fucking cool!
Tbh if he got the “fanon Midnight” treatment as it were he would be a great character

Day five! I know we have basically all of them made to fit their flames but if you could reassign the tenth vongola swuad new flames, which woulf you mix up? Anyone else in khr you'd assign a different flame?
Ohh, this was a really fantastic question! I actually had to stop and really think about this one for quite a while! I hope you’ll enjoy my opinions on the subject and thank you so much for sending this in!
When it comes to Vongola Decimo’s family, you are very right. The flames really are built up around each character, making certain that each of the Guardians really fits their flame types. The same applies to the Vongola Primo generation, who really are just sort of ‘copy paste’ of the Vongola Decimo family, so it makes sense.
I think the only thing I might possibly change at all would be Hibari’s secondary flame type. It really makes little sense to me for him to have a Mist Flame and I always felt like it was mostly done as a ‘haha, irony, he hates Mist Flame users but is one himself’ kind of deal instead of it being done because the flame type genuinely fits him. While I definitely do agree that he would be among the very few characters who can use multiple flame types easily, I always personally thought that his secondary flame type would be Sun or Storm. I’ve always leaned more towards Storm for him but have also seen arguments for Sun that really have swayed me in that direction as well.
Now, as far as the flame types I would change, I’ve always been very vocal about the fact that there are a lot of Flame types among the Arcobaleno that make no sense to me. They’re the group that I would definitely make some switches to and where I feel that maybe earlier manga colouring were the only reason they have the flame types that they do.
I really don’t think that Reborn fits the Sun Flame category, though I know I’m getting into really controversial and unpopular opinions saying that and I don’t get Fon being a Storm Flame. To me, I would honestly switch the flames between the two.
In my head, I really do think Reborn makes a better Storm Flame and I strongly headcanon that no matter what his primary flame type is, that he would be along the lines of Gokudera, a genius that possesses the capability to use different flames and that his main secondary flame would be a Rain flame, just based on his fighting style and prowess.
Meanwhile I do think that Fon fits a Sun Flame better, as a very hands on and physical fighter.
Other than that, it’s really only fanon accepted flames where I sometimes have to go…that just doesn’t compute to my brain, I really think this makes more sense. One example that I was just talking about with a lovely friend is what flame types fanon believes that Shamal would have. To me, Shamal is a classic Sun Flame. The trident mosquitoes use viruses lifted from his body, meaning he is quite literally fighting using parts of his body/blood and the fact that Sun’s ability is that of activation, and healing is part of that, it really suits his position as a doctor.
I also do think that Haru has a Storm Flame, while Kyoko is strongly a Rain Flame in my head every time, despite the fact that genetics say she has to be a Sun Flame. I do get the arguments for her being a Sun Flame, besides just that her brother is one but in my head, it just makes most sense for her to be a Rain Flame.
Also, there is nothing, nothing I have ever seen that makes me believe that Naito Longchamp is a Sky Flame. Yes, he’s a boss…no, I just cannot believe that he has a Sky Flame and the harmonizing abilities of it.

.Whiskey. Tsuna doesn't like fighting. He has to. This chapter shows the guys looking for a spot for the Sakura viewing only to find out Hibari and his committee have claimed the spot for their own. Reborn shows up when they're arguing over the spot and tells Hibari that Tsuna wants to compete for it. Tsuna never said any such thing.
Tumblr media
This results in them all trying to fight Hibari one on one and each failing because the rules were whoever hit their knees first was out, Hibari took Gokudera and Yamamoto out easily, but though it looks like Tsuna brought him to his knees, we see it was actually Shamal's trident mosquito, which means Tsuna didn't have to fight but he was prepared to.
Tumblr media
I know I don't write Hibari but wanted to add this part because it foreshadows a major battle with one of my muses later where Hibari is easily defeated by Mukuro. Because while I love Mukuro, I think if this scene had never happened, Hibari could have possibly easily taken him down.

AI-less Whumptober - Day 21 - Drugged, “This will make you feel better, okay?” @ailesswhumptober
A shiver went down his spine as he felt the first signals of drugs in him, it wasn't the first time that Gokudera got drugged, but sure, it's been a fucking while since the last time. The Storm was a kid the first time they drugged him.
"This will make you feel better, okay?"
That phrase was a lie, Gokudera never felt better after that, he always felt sore, he would wake up the next day feeling his body burning, feeling like his blood was exploding inside of him. Whatever they did while they put him to sleep? It wasn't good.
Sure he remembers the times when the drug made him loopy, or even seeing things, oddly enough, those times he doesn't... Remember.
As he gets up from the bar stool he is. I... Need to get out of here. He mumbles as the barman helps him get inside and back to his room, Gokudera was glad that the bar he was in was his own fucking one, otherwise, he would be more panicked.
KISE! He soon was lying down in a bed as his eyes were fighting to stay open. A blonde tall guy came in from the open door. "Yes-ssu?"
Someone is drugging people here. Find... Gokudera shook his head, he wasn't expecting to be drugged in his own fucking bar, as he shakes his head. Bring Yamamoto... After. As the Storm closes his eyes falling asleep.
Kise looked confused at Gokudera, he was pretty sure that the guy called Yamamoto wasn't in Japan from what he heard. Frowning and shrugging he was going to take care of the drugging incident first, after all, it was frowned upon. The boss made it pretty clear that they should check up for drugs so it was safe for everyone.
After figuring out how the drug came inside and how everything happened there was only one thing he needed to do, it was in theory find Yamamoto? Without any clue how to do that, there was only one person he could call.
When Gokudera woke up a few hours later, what he found was a scowling man. "You know, I know you for being stupid, but this stupid?! This is a new level." The storm froze as he tried to push the fog from the sleeping drug he had. Shamal? What are you doing here?
He was very confused as the man handed him water and then sat down next to him. "Kise? Or whatever that blond's name is. Called me saying you were drugged and asked me to check on you. Apparently, you were so drugged that you asked for him to call Yamamoto."
Gokudera winces at that name, it's been a while since he broke up with Yamamoto, and the storm has been doing everything in his power to keep working for the Vongola, helping Decimo, making sure the Guardians were going to be okay, and even, working very hard to be present. There were still things he couldn't talk about.
I... Asked for him?
"Yes, now are you going to talk about it, or are you going to keep running away like the brat you were? Making everyone worried."
As Gokudera heard about it, she shrugs. I never was good at dealing with emotions Shamal... I fell deeply in love with him and he left that is all. I'm not sure how to deal with the left part. But I'm getting in there... Or I hope so.
The doctor didn't believe any bit about it, as he looked at the Storm and sighed. "I treated the drugs with the Trident Mosquito, you should feel better in a couple of hours. Try not to push yourself too much." With that Shamal leaves leaving Gokudera alone.
Looking at the ceiling he trusted Shamal, as the perv doctor had no reason to hurt him or even to lie, yet the burning feeling or the sore was there. His body was burning, he felt it sore, maybe because it made him remember a less than pleasant time. Or maybe because Gokudera related any drug with that other one in particular.
Whatever the reason he was holding his body tightly as he yelled. I guess... Tonight will be a different memory... He thought as his body trashed around in the bed, glad the room was sound-proof, yelling and yanking his clothes off, being too hot, or was it that his memories were making it too hot?
That... Wasn't going to be a pleasant night.

So.... Hayato and Shamal's canon relationship basically is reluctant mentor and reluctant apprentice right? I always thought it was weird. Like.... Shamal's pretty strong. If I remember right he's pretty well known. I think he wouldn't be in Japan, training Hayato if he really didn't want to. And I'm pretty sure that if Hayato wanted he could find someone else to teach him about bombs. So yeah, I think they actually genuinely like each other, I'd say they're family actually.
Au idea....
So Shamal is pretty well known yeah? So he must have at least some ennemies (..... Like the husbands of some of his lovers lmao) so I think.... I think he acts like he doesn't really likes Hayato because showing that he cares would make him a target for Shamal's ennemies. That's dangerous, and he doesn't wants Hayato to be hurt! (he's already been hurt enough) plus, Shamal's thing with disliking the company of men actually works pretty well with the act.
On Hayato's side, he's playing along for several reasons. 1 : if he ever became well known in the mafia, then it would be his ennemies who would go after Shamal and that's not okay because he cares about Shamal and Shamal doesn't have a Famiglia to protect him! (I think.... We don't know much abt him). So he must preemptively establish that NO he doesn't cares about Shamal what are you talking about. 2 : he's also playing along because Shamal being afraid for him makes sense. He doesn't wants to be targeted by Shamal's ennemies, thank you very much! 3 : he also goes along with it because Hayato being attacked genuinely worries Shamal and Hayato doesn't wants Shamal to worry and stress himself out! It's for his peace of mind (also knowing that Shamal cares enough about Hayato that he built up a whole act so that Hayato wouldn't get hurt? It's nice. Warm.)
So the animosity.... Is an act! When they're in private and safe they're actually pretty domestic and affectionate because Hayato is a biiiit Touch-starved and Shamal is a pretty touchy person and he's also lonely sometimes.... And they study medical stuff together and study flames because flames are fascinating and think up new uses of flames and lots of brainstorming (ha) basically. And hm..... Hayato allowing himself to let his guard down around Shamal because while Hayato thinks of anyone older than himself as an enemy.... Shamal is the exception to the rule, because Shamal never really betrayed him and he helped him get over some of his food issues and his music issues and he knows Shamal would protect him if they were attacked and Shamal's safe. He's safe. So it's okay for Hayato to not have to handle everything himself and he can allow himself to ask for help.... And relax....
I'm thinking about them curled up on the couch of Shamal's apartment, Shamal's arm over Hayato's shoulders and they're watching a science documentary and hm... When it ends Hayato asks if they can watch something about aliens next and Shamal (Long-suffering about the aliens) just goes urgh fine as if he hasn't recorded several alien movies just for Hayato. But Hayato's smile is worth it.
On Shamal's end.... First of all, he loves Hayato. He would protect Hayato even if Hayato didn't trust him. But Hayato does trust him and it's incredible. Because few trust Shamal, with reason. Who would trust someone who can make you deadly ill before you even notice it? It's huge that Hayato trusts him, because Hayato never trusts adults so for him to trust Shamal out of all the adults? It feels quite heady, actually. And Hayato.... Hayato is his kid, you know? He's basically the only family Shamal has. He's bright and strong and determined and so so so important to Shamal.
Basically. I want them to be a family
(and because it's me and I always come back to outsider POV, I'm also thinking about an outsider pov of various people in namimori witnessing the staggering difference between Hayato and Shamal's dynamic when they're outside and acting VS while they're safe and with people they trust)

Or it could just be a lie to mess with Tsuna. But having the ability fold and mold the plot timeline like a puff pastry is definitely up Reborn’s alley in particular.
rereading khr ch. 15

Yes, No, Maybe? (A KHR Fanfic)
Fandom: KHR Word Count: 1,029 Prompt: Yes, No, Maybe? Ship: Hibari Kyouya/Mukuro Rokudo (1869) Characters: Hibari Kyouya, Mukuro Rokudo, Sawada Tsunayoshi Event Host: @flufftober
It wasn't a hard question, just a simple yes, no, or even a maybe would suffice. However when you don't realize your feelings, that's one of the hardest questions to answer. "Do you like Mukuro?" Tsuna asked it so casually Hibari almost went into fight or flight mode as he questioned if the herbivore before him was the same damn one he'd fought against before.
Of course he didn't like Mukuro, there was absolutely nothing to like about him and never would be. He was a liar, a cheat, he was an outright low down, no good, completely crooked bastard. Illusions were Mukuro's specialty and illusions were merely tricks used against people. In Hibari's eyes, illusions were a way of cheating, therefore Mukuro was a cheater and always would be a cheater and nothing more according to him. So when asked that, it wasn't exactly as easy of a question as Hibari thought it would be.
Of course he could have just said no and walked away but he realized something, Tsuna could have used that against him and then turned the tables and asked "Then why do you want to fight him so badly? Why do you want to be around him again so badly?"
Hibari could argue in return that it was simply out of spite, he wanted to defeat Mukuro himself fair and square once and for all. However when he went to open his mouth and protest the herbivore's statement, he suddenly went mute and just shut his mouth once again and went back to glaring.
What was it exactly that he hated so much about Mukuro? Was Hibari really that petty that he couldn't find anything to like because there was so much he hated that he didn't know where to start. But if there was so much Hibari hated about him, then logically he should have just stayed away from him, shouldn't he? Hibari wasn't always one to use logic so quickly and everyone in the Vongola knew that.
Known for his loner nature, Hibari wasn't exactly a very social guy to begin with. He had few people he trusted in his life and ever less that he actually considered friends. He was gentle with children and animals and understanding of those weaker than him. However, Mukuro was one person he never understood and would probably never try to. He didn't actively want to understand him in fact, in Hibari's eyes he'd be a criminal and never anything else anyway. However, he did have to admit Mukuro was indeed a very strong opponent and possibly the first one to ever beat him, even if Hibari would always think it was by a means of trickery and nothing else. Mukuro wouldn't admit it but Hibari had been one of his hardest opponents to take on, though he did feel a bit guilty for using illusions of cherry blossoms when he knew Hibari was suffering from a disease of Trident Shamal's that made him weak to them, so weak the illusion was enough to completely immobilize him, though he would never tell Hibari this.
Oddly enough Hibari would never tell Mukuro the reason he was always so desperate for a rematch was that Mukuro had excited something deep inside him every time the two of them did clash, something he didn't feel around opponents he deemed weaker. Many people talk about romance and attraction being likened to a spark, a flame between two people. Oh Hibari saw sparks flying when he looked at Mukuro but romantic was the last way he'd honestly ever describe it to anyone.
Yes, no or maybe would have been a simple enough answer to suffice common everyday questions like "Do you want to order take out?" or "Should we take a walk later?" or "Did you do your homework?"
But when it came to his feelings for Mukuro, a yes, no or maybe wasn't the first thing that came to mind. Every emotion he had for him did. Respect for his skills was first. Then admiration for his looks. Anger at his attitude. Hibari swore if anyone tried to say he liked Mukuro or had feelings for him at all, Hibari would have popped a blood vessel right there just from the stress and overthinking he would do over it all.
There were probably aspects of him that Hibari did like, but he didn't want to admit them. Liking someone was more complicated than being attracted shallowly to their looks. He could acknowledge the other's skills in battle and admitted yes he was indeed good at what he did, but that was far from liking Mukuro at all.
Besides, it wasn't like Hibari owed an answer to a mere herbivore like Sawada Tsunayoshi, the loser of the entire school, right? That's what he told himself at least as he turned and simply walked away, leaving the question unanswered.
Though Tsuna didn't need an answer directly. Anyone who had seen Hibari interacting with Mukuro for any longer than five seconds would understand that it was frustration out of attraction and not anger or complete hatred like he'd try to claim. But though he was a bad liar, Hibari would try his best to cover it up. "No. I've never liked Mukuro and never will."
Leave it to Tsuna to ask something that would make Hibari choke on his own spit when it rolled off the Boss's tongue. "Then why can't you stay away from him if you don't like him at all?" Tsuna didn't mean any harm by it, he just couldn't understand why Hibari would continue to seek out Mukuro if he didn't like him at all.
Hibari's eyes had never twitched so fast in his life when he realized what Tsuna was implying by saying that. There was honestly nothing Hibari could use to argue against it and that pissed him off even more. He had no reason to hate Mukuro but didn't want to admit that he liked him either.
Tsuna smiled. "So you do like Mukuro then? Yes, no or maybe?"
Hibari turned red and put his head down, hiding. "Maybe."
