LCF AU in which Og!Cale, ever since he was a kid, can understand aquatic creatures. Not only the normal animals, not only the magic ones, but also the lake spirits that live in the forest near his home, the youkai that hides in the Ubarr territory's coast, the ghosts haunting a pirate ship, the undines he saw when his mom took him in a trip, all of them.
So, when he feels the lake spirit calling him one night in the bar, he stops mid-sentence, tilts his head to listen and leaves.
Once he reaches the lake— the dangerous one, not the poisoned one— the lady herself comes out to the surface to meet him. Long, translucid water snakes surround her and move in front of her, carrying a giant bubble with them.
"She worked hard for this life of yours."
The bubble floated towards the shore.
"So take good care of them. Prove him she was right."
"Who?"
His hand touched the sphere.
"Gods. Our Sea Goddess may not be a major god, but she's loyal and her love is as endless as the ocean. She won't allow the last with her blessing to be stepped on so easily."
That night Cale learned that his ability was a gift. A sign of the blessing that held his family once upon a time.
As soon as the lake spirit submerged again and the waters calmed down, the bubble exploded. It was a good thing that Cale had always been a creative mind, because he doesn't know how he would had managed to carry three men down through the mountain otherwise.
"Hahhh."
He only wanted to drink, cause a little fuss to ban himself from the next noble event. Why was that when he finally was starting to feel drunk for once— well, maybe he did wanted to get drunk this time, it had been a hard week, ok?— the universe threw him a new task.
Now he was trapped building a semi-sleigh with three unconscious men at his side. It just had to be Tuesday.
Bonus:
Back at the bar,
Cale: Harris Village? Why should my fa— *goes still*
Choi Han: (His fa?)
Cale: *tilts his head, brows furrowed in concentration* Huh. *Leaves*
Choi Han: ...what happened?
Bartender: The fuck I know. The Lord's castle is right at the end of that path. If there's something to report, go there and talk to the guards or Hans, the butler.
Choi Han: Thanks.
Bartender: Now get off if you're not going to drink. You're scaring my customers.
Beacrox, hiding in the shadows: *confused assassin noises*
[After Choi Han leaves]
Bartender: Phew.
Waitress: You okay, boss?
Bartender: I feel like I lost half of my life. Who enters into a shop holding a sword and covered in blood? Youth this days.
Waitress: I'm mostly relieved the young master left when he did. He had that look in his eyes, again.
Bartender: *gets stiff* Thanks grandma in the heavens. I'd have to close if that punk was killed here.
Waitress: Oh shush. You love him.
Bartender: He's a noisy punk. He comes, drinks some bottles, breaks something and then he's gone again. He's part of the bar routine at this point.

"I should've seen the signs" I feel like Stoick was basically reliving the way he lost Valka.
To him, after a lifetime of wanting nothing but to kill a dragon, Hiccup's suddenly and inexplicably changed his mind. To him, Hiccup saying he can't kill them is just like when Valka refused to and tried convincing others as well, then as a result was 'killed' by one herself.
To him, way Hiccup tossed his weapon and shield to the side then approached Hookfang while speaking about how dragons aren't what people think they are probably bares an uncomfortable resemblance to the way Valka put down her weapon and stared a dragon in the eyes and as a result was taken.
To him, attempting to do anything but preemptively defend yourself against a dragon will only end in tragedy, so he has to do anything he can to stop Hiccup before it's too late.
(And just like with Valka, he unintentionally escalated the situation by trying to protect Hiccup but only agitated the dragon, causing it to panic and react, inadvertently putting someone he loves in danger. again)
Stoick of course, wasn't acting rationally, but it makes sense when you think about how traumatizing Valka's 'death' must've been for him (and how much Hiccup reminss him of her); he watched her get taken, presumably killed, and couldn't do anything about it.

I don't think you've already done it (and if you did, sorry for the double!!!) but would you have some HC for Wendy with the Raijishuu+ Laxus? I think she deserves to be everyone's little sister <3 (but also they would make such a fun team!)
!!!!
Yes, omg, I love them! I firmly believe Wendy is their little sister
They all know Wendy is a badass and are usually the only ones willing to let Wendy do hard jobs
So they tend to take her on more challenging jobs
Of course, they watch out for her and make sure it's something they can handle just in case
But all of them wanna see her grow and become the strongest version of herself
Now that being said, they also refuse to admit that Wendy is aging and growing up. She is forever 12 and their precious baby sister
She might be a total badass but she is their baby
Wendy will make them flower crowns and they will wear them. Nothing like seeing the entire Raijinshuu covered in petals, giggling with the girl
Evergreen absolutely gushes over Wendy. I'm taking hugging her and squeezing her cheeks talking about how cute she is
Evergreen also tries to give Wendy girl talk and advice but it is usually pretty terrible. Wendy, being the angel she is, usually thanks her and pretends she's learned a valuable lesson
Laxus has protective big brother energy all the time. He's always hovering behind her in public just to make sure people know not to fuck with her
Wendy has done Laxus' makeup on several occasions. At first, he was super embarrassed by it but then Wendy got sad that he wiped it off before a party and now he wears it with pride every time she does it.
Similarly, Wendy is all about styling Freed's hair. Freed is super particular about his hair but he is a sucker for her puppy dog eyes
They did their best to keep Wendy away from Bickslow's bad influence. That man is always trying to turn Wendy into a delinquent (he's failing miserably but that won't stop him)
Bickslow is the best at cheering up Wendy. Like no matter how sad she is, that man can get her to smile within seconds. He's very proud of this skill
Bescause of the Raijinshuu, Wendy knows so many swear words. Including ones in different languages. She doesn't use them but boy does she consider it
They are Wendy's biggest cheerleaders during the grand magic games. They showed up one year wearing t-shirts with her face on them (to her absolute horror)

wait, why can’t a decent amount of the members in proto-thunderclan not hunt?
A lot of them have serious physical disabilities! It's enough that it poses a logistical problem, which they are committed to overcoming together.
Thunder Storm's three legs makes him slower than his companions. He's ferociously powerful, but like a male lion, he has to rely on his "lionesses" to slow a large animal.
Bright Storm has asthma from her heroics trying to save SkyClan cats from a fire. She's taking that from Gray Wing, who is famously the first major death now. Like her son, she has a difficult time with chasing prey.
Bumble is dyspraxic. She's a terrible hunter and fighter and struggles with self-worth because OTHERS used it to dehumanize her, and continues to, even after an entire society forms out of love of her.
Sunlit Frost has permanent nerve damage in his arm from the fire, and ends up working so hard that it makes his disability worse. A bite on the good paw from Snake becomes infected after he refuses to sit out from digging graves after the First Battle; I am planning a chunky B-plot about Sunlit coming to terms with the fact he has to retire early.
That's FOUR major members of a small group with physical disabilities that make hunting hard or impossible. They have a lot of logistical problems that I will actually be exploring solutions to.

I realized something just now. You know how queer discourse (biphobia, aphobia, kink at pride discourse, etc) keeps queer people at each other's throats instead of fighting back against queerphobia that comes from outside the community?
It's just like pretendian discourse in the Native community. In both cases, we're so focused on trying to find, essentially, spies inside our own communities, that we don't expend our time and energy doing things that could actually help improve our situations.
This goes for every community you're in. Focus your efforts on taking back your power rather than trying to weed out people who you think don't belong.
