Rediscovered my love for tremors today after stumbling apon the forgotten TV show that took place after the third movie, I love tremors and I was saddened to learn about two years ago they had plans for a new TV series but it was cancelled by the SYFI channel the day before airing. And after the shrieker island movie burt gummer the character died in the movie because the actor was getting too old to play burt so he had his character go out like a badass.

Just finished watching The last night at Tremore beach (La última noche en Tremor). It's pretty good. Only 8 episodes, but fairly long ones. Well acted, has a tense atmosphere, and it keeps you guessing until the end.

You expected this visit to be the same as any other to the prosthetics clinic usually was.
You were going to meet Dr. Gardner, the prosthetist who had been with you since you’d first been fitted for your prosthetic leg, and he'd make a slight adjustment to it, and then you'd leave again.
But instead of that being the case, when you walked into the clinic today, you were greeted by someone else. A man, much younger than Dr. Gardner, with a tall frame and dark curly hair stood by the window and was currently slipping on his gloves. The doctor, obvious by the signature-white lab coat he was wearing, calmly turned to you with a professional and slightly reassuring smile.
“Unfortunately Dr. Gardner’s out sick at the moment,” he immediately explained, his voice smooth and composed. “I'm filling in for him, so I’ll be the one handling your adjustment today. My name's Dr. Rudy Cooper, it's nice to meet you.” He shook your hand gently before gesturing to the chair in the middle of the room. “Please, have a seat.”
You nodded, sitting down and rolling the cuff of your pant-leg up, glancing at him curiously. “Well then let’s see if you’re as good as Dr. Gardner at putting me back together.”
Brian gave a small smile as he seated himself across from you, gently lifting your leg to begin his examination on your prosthetic. “I’ll try my best. Dr. Gardner’s very good at it, from what I hear.” His voice was light, but he was already scanning you, taking in the way you moved, the way you spoke.
When his eyes reached your hands, he had to do a double take, his world stopping. Your nails, painted in the exact same way his mother used to paint hers. The hues were extremely similar, and the order of the colors was identical.
It came out of nowhere and hit him like a physical blow. For just a second his breath hitched and his usually steady hands trembled at the sight.
No. It couldn’t be. But it was.
His mother’s nails, now on your hands, like some ghostly echo of the past.
The carefully constructed facade of calm professionalism flickered for a moment as a flood of memories surged through him.
His mother’s laughter, the smell of her perfume, the soft touch of her hand as she ruffled his hair. And then… the blood. Her blood, mixing with the colors of those very same nails.
How could this be happening? He hadn’t thought about his mother in this way for so long, hadn’t let himself remember.
Blinking a few times, he quickly put your leg down and reached for your file instead, fighting to regain control over his composure.
He couldn’t lose it here. Not now. It was just a coincidence anyway. Just some random woman with the same taste in nail polish.
Still, deep down the shock lingered, sending tremors through the carefully walled-off parts of his mind.
He flipped through your file as casually as possible, clearing his throat once to keep his tone friendly, but professional. “Just going over some notes here. It says the injury happened... a few years ago? Could you remind me of what happened, just to make sure everything lines up?”
Forcing a polite smile, the mask of Rudy Cooper slipped into place, though it felt more strained than usual. His eyes couldn’t help but glance back to your nails every time you so much as shifted, the image of his mother — and her terrified eyes, her pleading hands, those painted nails — almost overlapping with you. He could barely hear your voice over the roaring in his head.
Not noticing anything off, you nodded, hesitating for a second. You hesitated, not because the incident was difficult to talk about anymore, but because it had become such a strange story to tell. You’d almost made peace with it, enough to laugh about it sometimes.
“Yeah, it was... a pretty bad day. Tried to steal some drugs. Not for me, though.” You smiled shyly, a hint of awkwardness in your tone. “My idiot ex, thought I could help him out of a mess he got himself into. But then I got cornered by three guys with a chainsaw. Like something out of a horror movie, right?” You laughed a little, but it didn’t quite reach your eyes.
Brian’s hands paused again, but he kept his face neutral, even with the chaos inside him growing. Drugs? That was already close enough to the horrors of his past. But then you mentioned three guys with a chainsaw, and the floor seemed to fall away beneath him. Though his expression didn’t change and he resumed his adjustment on your prosthetic, the memory inside his mind hit him like a sledgehammer, and in vivid detail as well. His mother, the men, the chainsaw whirring. He was too young to stop it, too small to save her, but the memory had never left him. The blood, the screams, the way her nails had clutched at him in desperation before the world went red.
And now here you were, sitting in front of him, your soft voice recounting a version of his nightmare.
Brian exhaled slowly, maintaining a steady voice. “That’s... an intense way to lose a leg. It must have been terrifying.” His words sounded professional, if empathetic, but internally he struggled to comprehend how this was possible. How could you have survived something so reminiscent of what happened to her?
His disbelief mixed with something darker, something predatory. He had been powerless as a child, but not now. Not anymore.
The thought of you cornered by men with a chainsaw, just like his mother, made something in him snap into place. His shock was replaced by cold determination.
It was as if the universe had handed him a second chance, a way to rewrite the past. This time was different. This time, he wouldn’t be helpless. This time, he would stop the violence, before it consumed you, too.
You gave a small shrug and kept talking, oblivious to the storm brewing inside of him. “Yeah, it was... I honestly didn't believe I’d make it out alive. But it’s been a few years now and here I am, still standing. Just… in a slightly different way.” You offered a small, self-deprecating smile. “Guess I’ve learned to adapt. Well, kind of. I’m still getting used to the leg in a way, but hey, I haven’t fallen flat on my face in a while, so I guess that’s progress.” You smiled again, this time more genuine though, trying to lighten the mood. “And at least my ex didn’t get the drugs. Silver linings, right?”
Brian’s gaze darkened slightly at that, though he kept his tone light. “I see. That’s very impressive and brave of you, as I can only imagine how tough all that must have been. I’m hoping your ex is not someone you still have to deal with on top of that?”
You hesitated, biting your lip and avoiding his eyes, a little uneasy at the topic of your ex boyfriend. “Well, actually… he’s, uh, kind of been stalking me, on and off. Nothing too serious, but... it’s still annoying, you know?”
Brian's fingers flexed around your prosthetic, the material fitting securely into place. His eyes, though still composed on the surface, deepened in intensity and became more focused. Your ex was stalking you. Lurking, like a predator. His jaw clenched, and his disbelief at the situation melted away, replaced by a new resolve.
I couldn’t save her. But I can save you.
The idea of this man, your ex, still in your life filled him with an odd sense of purpose. He didn’t care about people, not really, but this was different. You had painted nails. You had suffered violence. You reminded him of her.
He would make sure nobody hurt you ever again. Starting with that ex-boyfriend of yours. Yes, he would definitely be dealt with. Permanently.
And going further, from now on, you would become his patient. Dr. Gardner had served his purpose, but Brian knew, with a chilling certainty, that you wouldn’t be seeing him again. Not if he could help it.
He forced a sympathetic chuckle, masking his true emotions as he continued to work on your prosthetic with his usual precision. “That sounds... frustrating. You’d think he’d get the hint by now.”
“Right?” You rolled your eyes playfully, trying to dispel the tension that came with the subject of your ex. “But I’m fine, really. It’s just one of those things I have to deal with.”
Brian simply nodded, his hands moving delicately, ensuring the fit was perfect, but his thoughts were miles away, plotting, considering what exactly he needed to do next to make sure you'd no longer have to do deal with it.
He was nothing if not methodical, his mind working like a finely-tuned machine, always planning, always calculating. When it came to taking care of your ex-boyfriend and Dr. Gardner, he would need to use two different approaches, that much was obvious.
Your ex-boyfriend would be the one to pay in blood. The man had been the catalyst for your suffering, the reason you had been put in a situation that mirrored Brian's own mother's gruesome death.
So your ex wasn't going to just disappear, that would be too easy, too nice. Instead, the bastard was going to feel every ounce of pain, every bit of terror that Brian imagined his mother and you had felt. He’d stalk him for days and learn his habits, figure out where he was most vulnerable. And when he’d finally make his move, it would be somewhere isolated, somewhere he could really take his time.
The act itself would neither be quick nor clean. Instead, Brian would make it messy, and visceral. He'd use tools that mimicked the chainsaw that had haunted both him and you. While he wouldn’t use an actual chainsaw, far too noisy and difficult to control, he would choose something just as violent, perhaps a hacksaw or an axe. He would let your ex feel the terror, hear the whir of a blade, and realize that his time was up.
In his twisted mind, Brian believed that you deserved closure. You needed to know that your ex-boyfriend was truly dead. Maybe you wouldn’t know it had been Brian, but you’d know your ex had been taken care of — brutally, and publicly even. The police would find the body, bloodied, hacked apart, left in some abandoned place where no one could escape the horror of the scene. It wouldn’t be a neat kill; it would be a spectacle. The kind that left a permanent mark in the mind of anyone who saw it.
It would be justice for you, and revenge for his mother.
It would be perfect.
You were going to feel safe, knowing that the danger had been wiped out, grateful that the threat was gone.
Dr. Gardner, on the other hand, required a different touch. Brian held no ill feelings toward him, the man simply needed to die out of necessity. But the doctor was a respected figure in your life, and if he simply vanished or died a violent death, you might grieve too hard, or worse, become suspicious. So Dr. Gardner's exit had to be quiet, peaceful, and leave no room for doubt. Brian could easily make it look natural, the man was already old enough that it wouldn’t raise too many questions if he were to die in his sleep anyway.
He'd slip a small dose of potassium chloride into Dr. Gardner’s food or drink, undetectable and mimicking the signs of a natural heart attack. The man would feel a sudden, overwhelming pressure in his chest, his heart seizing painfully — but he wouldn’t be able to cry for help. And in mere minutes, it would be over, and the man would be found peacefully in his bed or his office chair, just another old guy who’d met his end from "natural causes". No one would question it, and you might feel sad for a little while, but definitely not suspicious.
And Brian knew grief over a natural death tended to fade more quickly.
Then you’d return to the clinic in need of further adjustments to your prosthetic in the future, and who would be there for you? Him. The friendly, capable replacement who’d been there all along.
As Brian thought about it all, his hands checked the fit of your prosthetic, his fingers running along the edges.
“Now, hopefully this adjustment will work perfectly for you,” he then said, his voice calm as ever. “If you need anything else, any follow-up, you can come back to me and I’ll take care of it.”
You nodded — still oblivious to anything going on underneath his professional exterior — as you softly smiled up at him and stood up, testing your leg and finding it already fitting better. “Thanks, Dr. Cooper, it’s great, and that’s really nice of you. I’ll be sure to come back if I need any more work done.”
Brian smiled back, but it was colder this time, more possessive. “Rudy, please. And I’ll be here, whenever you need me.”
As you left the clinic, you felt relieved, glad that everything had gone well despite the fact that Dr. Gardner wasn't the one doing your adjustment. Dr. Cooper, or Rudy, had been kind, careful, and understanding. He was a really nice man. Hopefully you'd have him as your prosthetist again if Dr. Gardner ever fell sick another time.
Watching you walk away, Brian was certain of your return. He intended to mold your future so that you would always come back to him.
You may not know it yet, but he was going to ensure you’d never need anyone else, ever again.

I was just reading through some of your older works with major (holy shit) and been seeing his Trauma with thunderstorms and I'm wondering if that ever comes into play during his time with Simon?
The Cycle series in chronological order (pts.1-30) | In the Dark (pt.30)
“...for Sunday to Tuesday, remaining unsettled with showers or longer periods of rain. Some of the rain may be heavy at times and temperatures will be close to…”
Cupcake lies flopped onto his side, curled up around a mug of hot cocoa, mostly ignoring the weather channel. The cocoa wasn’t his idea. Simon’s trying to fix things.
Simon is out of the room. That’s the only way Major can really relax.
“...for tonight, though, because - and cover your little ones’ ears - we’re going to have one heck of a storm. I mean, don’t even bother bringing your umbrella in from your car when you get home tonight. The wind’s already started up, and I know you hear that rain that’s already started up, if you live in these areas…”
An entirely new tension is building up behind Major’s shoulder blades. His eyes flit to the window to the left of the TV, scanning across the dark gray sky out there.
“Simon.” The croak comes out as a betrayal to his resignation to stay out of trouble, stay out of focus. But this is important, this is a time crunch. “Simon?”
It might have been the volume of his yell. The fact that he called at all. Or the panicked pitch. But something about it has Simon dropping something and skidding around the corner. “What? What’s wrong?”
The cocoa has spilled. Major hadn’t even noticed, at first, too used to being messy and destructive - the heat seeps into his clothes with the oddly nostalgic feeling of pissing himself. His arm is outstretched to point at the television. “Gonna - ‘bout to storm.”
The perfect picture of clueless-but-desperate-to-help, Simon stands there for a moment, mouth agape. “Uh - yeah. Looks like it.” He spots the spilled chocolate, the tremor to that arm. Whatever’s going on, it’s a big deal to Major. “So?”
The captive tries to shake loose words from his head. They are trying to come slow but he wants to explain before the first one hits. “I got… this messed up thing, happened… uh, you know, uh, I…” The weather report is repeating. Grating on his nerves. The clouds are picking up their speed with a vengeance outside. “I’m scared of thunder.”
It is his instinct, condescending as it might be, to crouch down to a less intimidating height and soften his voice. Simon watches as Cupcake starts urgently, impulsively chewing at his stubby nails. “I’m here.”
Uncharacteristically emotive, Major throws up his hands and waves them both in a no, you don’t understand gesture. “Really scared. Like, like - guy with magic, he…” Obscenely, his hands form the finger-penetrating-a-circle gesture, and then point to his own temple. “Made me scared. Crying and freaking out and sh-, and stuff.”
Brows raised and jaw set with concern, the captor nods slowly. “Will I have to restrain you?”
He itches at his curls idly. “Wha-...? No. Not gonna attack. I just… it’s embarrassing, you know? Can’t even calm down. Snotty and shit.” He leans to stare out the window again, too preoccupied to remember an apology for cursing. “...Sorry. Spilled the…” A distracted gesture to the now-stained beanbag chair.
“Do you want to go in the cage?”
Cupcake’s head jerks back to lock eyes with Simon’s. He looks hurt, frightened back into shoulders slumping.
Simon waves a hand dismissively. “Not like that. I mean, would it make you feel better?”
The healer shrugs. “Uh…” His eyes are aimed at his knees, now, sore red fingers picking at the carpet fiber that he’s stretched out. “Nah.”
Howling against the gutters first, then slowly picking up to moan against the siding, the wind insists on being noticed. Major hunches down in his seat.
“Then there’s only one thing for it. Come on, come with me.”
~
“What is this?”
Head ducked down to avoid cobwebby string lights, Major decides to just flop down onto the nest of pillows in the corner. Clothes hang above and distort the illusion but if Major chose to, he could believe this was a little magical space completely separate from the house it’s in. There is a short stack of books in the corner, a stash of snacks, a notebook, and a messenger bag.
None of it really makes sense. He can’t figure out why Simon would have this kind of hiding spot in his house, or why there’s a bunch of random shit stashed in here. But the pillows are soft, and the whole closet feels so comfortingly small.
Simon sighs and curls up on his side, too, to avoid having to hunch forward sitting up. Major’s eyes search for anything to look at but the face of his captor inches away. “An old place. I don’t have a reason to come in here anymore. The lights don’t work, sorry. Going to be dark.”
“S’fine. Hey, don’t - don’t grab on me or anything, in here. Please.”
His usual smug, calm expression smoothes out into one of plain honesty. “I won’t.”
Finally he settles on just closing his eyes instead of trying not to see Simon. Cupcake lets out a shaky sigh and grinds the side of his head harder into the tassel-fringed pillow. “If I scream, or cry, or whatever. When it starts. Don’t make fun.”
The soft nest shifts slightly as Simon shakes his head. “I won’t.”
A faint flash glows from under the sliding closet door. Major’s whole body jolts with a flinch. In the darkness, he reaches out blindly to find Simon’s hand and cling to it. The thunder is seconds away.
Seconds. Seconds that feel like hours. As if he only has those few seconds left to live, Major frantically angles his elbows to move, and scurries forward until his body is flush up against Simon’s, shielded by him. His grip on Simon’s hand is tight enough to risk breaking bone and his eyes remain screwed shut with a violent intensity.

KRISHNA IN VYAS MAHABHARAT AND THE POWER OF DUTY AND CHOICE (I)
Krishna in Vyaas Mahabharat
Trust me, I had seen Krishna's representation in TV serials and fictional books, but I always felt that something was missing. I understand the grand scale of Krishna, the all knowing Krishna, the mischief maker Krishna, the Dwarkadheesh Krishna, but I could hardly find nuances in the portrayal or how he exactly intertwines his roles together as one. In many instances, I feel like I am seeing actually different persons rather than entirely one. It should be one man enacting different activities, but somehow I felt fictions and serials cannot capture it well enough.
This is when I started reading Bori Ce, and oh man the way I was completely blown off by his portrayal! This is exactly what I had imagined Krishna to be! The all in one man showing all the nuances with perfect balance, not underdoing or overdoing it!
This man openly shows affection, anger, patience, courage and what not and has a strong command, a personality, a confidence in his stance that he has immensely knowledgeable and knows what is right and wrong.
KRISHNA IN MAHABHARAT IS AN ENTIRE PERSONALITY IN ITSELF.
There isn't a stiffness to his character which I always feel is shown, or the general notion of him being always in a mischievous mood throughout, nor he is the one who would always be ready to throw heavy "gyaan" in your way, everytime someone is upset.
1. Krishna, fitting in Mahabharat as a human and as a God: [ Krishna feels you, he gets you what you feel ] :
Krishna in Mahabharat, actually behaves like a person does as per required in a situation. He actually feels like a separate individual dealing with problems, fighting through it like anyone of us. Him being God, doesn't actually draw him from the fact that he will do a task with his command or Maya. Rather he takes up a situation, understands it and does his best to work upon it.
And you find him in a range of emotions while dealing with a situation.
For example, after the Dyut, he goes to meet Pandavas and Draupadi. The texts actually show how much he was shivering with anger, so much so that the forest seems like being caught in a storm, the sky in tremors and the earth is shaking. At that moment, his anger was disastrous. He was angry, very angry and he shows it. This is when Arjun comes, falls at his feet and recounts Krishna's past and cools him down. And Krishna gets very emotional at this.
Imagine you're very angry, and someone comes and says words of calmness and you melt almost immediately, and reciprocate their affection. That's exactly what Krishna does. He could've shown his superiority, could've destroyed the surroundings around just because he's God and knew that Dyut was unrighteous that happened. But he doesn't. He calms down and shows affection to Arjun by reciprocating how much he loved him and considered him is own. Such a contrasting set of emotions shown so well, unlike how we see Krishna not giving a damn about the Pandavas and running straight towards Draupadi. This was not him. He was angry, but was never so much that would overpower everything. He sees the Pandavas distraught and he actually comforts them.
He goes to Draupadi next and is heartbroken at her condition. Yes, Draupadi openly complains to him about what had happened and weeps. And unlike how we think or had seen Krishna giving a series of speeches of how "world does things to the one who is right, you should be strong Sakhi, rise up" he doesn't do any of it. Because he understood what Draupadi needed was a burst out of her grief, and some comfort. Krishna does the same, he infact goes on to say that fie upon Arjun and Bheem, the strength of Pandavas, and how all the Kauravas will be vanquished. He asks her to stop shedding tears and that the Kaurav women will shed more tears than her.
This is when guys, this is when I felt him. He actually acted like anyone of us who will comfort someone who is distressed, to an extent he/she would go on to support their stance, instead of asking to forget about it or be strong instead. No. Krishna wanted her to lament it fully and not store it up within her or forget about it. Krishna never asks to try to forget whatever happened. He knew what exactly Draupadi wanted that time, and let's her be. The grief stricken Draupadi who only wanted to pour her heart out. He comforts her after listening to her stance and anger completely. He's moved by her grief and reciprocates her anger by saying they'll pay for their sins and he'll make sure of that. And this is actually what a response should be, or we give to someone near and dear one who's been hurt or done unjust. He exactly acts like US.
But he was God. According to our thinking, He could've said to her that why are you crying? Be strong, have faith and all that....but Krishna doesn't. This is where the nuance of him being a human and a God is bridged.
It's not over yet. Krishna openly says, how he should've been during the Dyut physically, but he couldn't because of a war. He feels upset that he couldn't be there.
This again adds up to the emotional range of Krishna, that doesn't generally reduce him to an all knowing God who is detached from the world.
BUT HE ACTUALLY IS. HIM BEING GOD ACTUALLY DETACHES HIM FROM WORLDLY EMOTIONS! HE SHOULD BE DETACHED FROM MATERIALISM AND THAT HE IS!
And that is actually the beauty of his amalgamation of him being Godly and humanly at the same time! He isn't emotionally detached from anyone, he's completely involved in each emotion but to an extent it is required. What you call it as a balance of it. You see both angles together in his character subtly, not overpowering each other but coming together as a whole to make him KRISHNA.
Krishna follows the way how a human should work, he is that's why for a reason is called the ULTIMATE MAN.
It's not for his physical strength or power, but also because of a PERFECT blend of emotions he displays, akin to a man and teaches us how exactly should it be.
This is where Krishna appears like a whole character and doesn't appear subtly flat with a single dimension of a God. You know he knows, he knows you know that he knows, but still....that emotional strike you will get while reading about him from Vyas Mahabharat will give you that feeling in your guts. It will just make you feel closer to him

not really scary but:
Ghost n Roach watching a horror movie and something sets off Roach’s PTSD (we all know bud’s riddled with it) but hw doesn’t wanna say anything casue Ghost looks like he’s enjoying the movie? so like maybe ghost notices and roach gets wrapped in a blanket and held?
no pressure! love your writing <3
:)
Ghost had accepted he would be watching his favorite horror movies alone. He planned to newest Halloween, Scream and Prey. He liked a lot of the other ones but he didn't have time to watch a lot of movies so he wanted to catch up on those series.
So he settled on the hotel bedroom and relaxed. They were stationed there for a while and apparently the barracks hadn't had any places. It was the only reason he felt comfortable doing this technically on duty. He got through the newest Halloween movie before he got a knock on the door.
Ghost turned the tv off completely just in case and checked through the window outside to see who it was, not trusting the peephole. He saw Roach looking at the window, hands in gloves holding to cups from the local coffeeshop. He had a thick coat and wool hat on, but he still looked pitifully cold out in the snow.
With a sigh, he opened the door. "Gary."
Roach was smiling under his mask. "Simon. Your usual."
Ghost grabbed it and checked the tag. It was the large version, but yes, it was his usual. He had went every day over the past few weeks trying each drink until he found his favorite. He had them add whip cream to it and it was perfect. "Thanks Bug."
With the offering given, Ghost moved out of the way and let Roach in. They had only recently started to work together and a few missions and two times hanging out in a group didn't exactly make them best buddies. But he wouldn't leave him out in the cold.
"What brings you here?"
Roach looked up at him and then pointed to his movies. He started to pull his gloves off.
"I believe I said I would be watching a few movies alone."
"Oh. I thought it was an invitation..." Roach signed, shaking his hands to indicate trailing off in what was possibly the funniest way to make sure Ghost understood him.
"It wasn't. But... since you're here. Mask doesn't go over the nose." He took a deep drink and sat down, turning his tv back on. It restarted the movie, but he didn't care, just meant he didn't have to.
Roach sat next to Ghost. They fell into a comfortable silence while watching the movie. Well, it was definitely comfortable for Ghost.
Roach would occasionally glance over, eyes running along the tattoos that just barely peaked out around the collar of Ghost's shirt. It made Ghost reach up to adjust it, leaving the tattoos more exposed. If Roach wanted to stare, he'd let him at least see the full design of the Death's-head hawkmoth that was there.
To the actual movie, Ghost was intrigued. The yautja was fighting a bear and although it was upsetting to see it kill the animal, it was an interesting scene. He didn't blame Roach for closing his eyes during it.
Ghost took another sip of his drink, letting his focus fall away from Roach. He was his teammate, he was sure he could take care of himself.
Naru had just been put in the cage by the French and the cup of coffee Roach brought ran empty. Roach had been quiet for a while, but he wasn't too worried about it. Bug was always quiet.
Ghost glanced over anyway, just to make sure.
Roach's face had turned to a pale white and his eyes were glued to the screen. His hands white knuckled the couch, a tremor in them.
"Roach?"
"..."
"Gary?" Ghost tried, seeing Roach jump and glance at him. He blushed and glanced away. "You okay?"
Roach gave a very shaky thumbs up which was all Ghost needed to pause the movie.
"You can be honest with me. Cages bad for you?" Ghost got up and grabbed a blanket.
Roach nodded and looked at his hands. He only glanced back up when Ghost put the blanket around him. His big brown eyes blinked up at Ghost.
"Bug, do you want to switch to a different movie?"
Roach shook his head and tapped the couch next to him. Ghost settled back down and Roach leaned into him. He leaned over and pressed play before settling back with Ghost.
They watched in silence for a long while. Roach stopped paying attention, instead looking at Ghost's tattoos.
His fingers gently found their way to them, tracing them.
Ghost shivered under his ministrations. "What are you doing?"
Roach quickly put his hands back in his lap before being pulled back by Ghost. "Didn't say you had to stop."
Roach's cheeks turned a deep red as he traced his tattoos with the very tips of his fingers again.

You've just dropped off the girls at school and, seeing that Dave is still home (a rare occasion this late in the day) you're secretly overjoyed and make an excuse to stay near him. Carol's car is not in the driveway, so you figure she must be at a salon appointment.
"I'm going to make some more coffee. Care for a cup, Mr. York?" you casually ask, watching him at the kitchen table.
He chuckles softly and looks up at you. The look on his face is slightly amused. "Sure." His deep voice sends a tiny tremor to your heart. "I'm always up for a cup of coffee."
You notice he looks less tired today and you want to ask what's on his mind, but as he's kept his dealings with you polite and professional, you aren't sure what to say. "Happy anniversary," you tell him, realizing you forgot to say it to Carol earlier. "Looking forward to dinner tonight?"
Knowing just how he likes his coffee, you prepare it just so and fix yourself a cup as well. Joining him at the table you sneak glances at him over your coffee cup - something you'd never dare to do in front of his wife. But she's not here.
You realize he hasn't answered you, likely hasn't even heard you. "Is something wrong?" you ask.
"Hm?" He looks at you, his concentration broken and for a moment you adore the lost puppy dog look in his eyes. "Sorry, my mind was elsewhere. Everything's fine, I'm just a little tired still. Late flight.. you know." He smiles but it doesn't quite reach his eyes.
You simply nod and the two of you sit in a comfortable silence. A torrent of rain falls from the sky and you both watch the downpour through the windows. "Looks like Mother Nature wants us to have a cozy day inside," he says jokingly, and your heart jumps to imagine what a day like that would be with him. Cuddling, kissing, fucking on the couch while an old black and white movie plays on the TV in the background.
"It'd be nice to get under the covers, read a little until I fall asleep," you say when you realize he's watching you. "Do you have to go to work today?" He was still in his pajamas: a white t-shirt and blue plaid wool pants.
"Unfortunately yes. I've got a big meeting today." He looks you over as he sips his coffee, licks the droplets from his lips. "What are you going to do with yourself all day?"
"Well, no cozy day for me either. I have to pick up the dry cleaning then make brownies for the girls' bake sale at school. And as usual, I'll be daydreaming about you.
He nods. "Well," he stands to stretch. "I'm going to go upstairs and shower."
"Of course. Don't let me keep you." Blushing a little you get up to do some dishes. By the time you're drying them, Dave comes back down, freshly showered and dressed for work. He smiles as he approaches you at the counter and helps you, and you get a little flustered at his presence, the nearness of him. "Please, you don't have to help. You're already dressed up." And boy does he look good. Black suit, crisp white shirt, and the tie that you gave him for a Father's Day present this past summer, red with silver stripes. Plus his American flag pin. In your sweater and yoga pants you feel unsophisticated. Young. Below his league.
And of course because you're flustered your clumsiness rears its head and you accidentally drop a plate on the floor and it shatters. "Oh my god! Sorry! I'll clean it up!" You race to get the broom and dustpan to tidy the floor. Dave helps you, assuring you it's fine, and when your fingers accidentally touch it's like a little shock of electricity. Your gazes meet, but you sense too much in this brief moment, and you glance at his hands, the band of gold that gleams upon his finger. "I almost forgot, I'm picking up Carol's wedding ring from the jeweler's today," you say as you sweep up the plate shards. "She's going to love the inscription you added for your anniversary." Your face is hot, as if Dave can see through your babbling. You reprimand yourself for talking too much during your nice little moment.
"Yeah, she's going to love it all right," he says faintly, as if deep in thought.
"Any woman would love that." You stand to put the broken pieces in the trash. Inwardly you berate yourself for your timidity, for perpetuating a crush that will go nowhere, and for thinking that it even could. Dave says something but you don't catch it. And when you turn around he's gone.
Tumblr media
That afternoon Alice and Molly help you with the baking then do their homework upstairs. Alone, you eye Carol's wedding ring in its box. You read the inscription on the back: 'Two are better than one'. Just out of curiosity you try it on your own finger, imagining that Dave has selected it for you, bought it for you, offered a life of love with this gorgeous diamond. You imagine yourself saying yes, hugging him, kissing him, telling all your friends and family.. it's a silly fantasy, but it makes you smile.
Then it gets stuck on your finger.
Carol must have the most delicate hands in all the world, because out of everything you try, nothing works. Ice, water, Vaseline: all useless. It's the worst thing that could happen, and on the worst timing. You feel like an idiotic character in a sitcom. You're still trying to force it off when Dave comes home. He sees the distress in your face. "What's wrong?"
"I did something stupid." You lift your hand and show him his wife's ring on your finger. "I just wanted to try it on, and now it's stuck. I can't let her come home and see me like this.."
He tries to help you remove it without hurting you, but it proves fruitless. "All right. Well, if it's stuck on your finger it's going to have to stay for a moment." He looks amused by the situation. "I guess you're going to be wearing it for now."
Your eyes widen and you glance at your watch. "She'll be home soon.. and you have your anniversary dinner tonight.." you feel a sense of hopelessness and you wish you hadn't been so curious about something that isn't yours. "I'll make it come off, I promise. It's my fault for putting it on in the first place."
Dave smiles warmly. "Hey, don't be too hard on yourself. It was an innocent mistake."
"Maybe we could keep this little incident just between us?"
"It'll be our little secret. I promise."
You hear Carol's car in the driveway. "Maybe you could distract her for a little bit? I think I know one more thing to try to get this off.."
In the kitchen you try a last minute remedy while also listening for Carol. You hear the front door open, and she says, "Aren't you going to welcome me home, Dave?"
With a rush of adrenaline you finally free the ring from your finger, put it back in its velvet box, and stuff it in your pocket. "Hi Carol! Please, let me get those grocery bags for you! I'm sure you want to start getting ready for your big date tonight," you say in a singsong voice. When she's not looking you hand Dave the box with the ring inside as you carry the bags to the kitchen.
You're shaking as you put the groceries away, but you're much calmer than before. You worry that Carol can suddenly read minds and that she'll know what you were doing with her wedding ring on.
"Dave and I are staying at a hotel after dinner tonight," Carol informs you. "We won't be back until the morning."
There's a little stab of jealousy in your heart, but it's not the first time you've ever felt it while working here. You hide your feelings with a smile and get to work on dinner for the girls. As Carol goes upstairs to get ready she leaves you and Dave alone in the kitchen. The air is rife with simmering tension, both of you curious about the other, yet maintaining a safe distance. Carol and the girls come down, the little ones ready to eat and the lady of the house dressed elegantly, leaving a cloud of Versace perfume in her wake. "We should head out now." She gives Dave a little peck on the cheek, causing both you and him to blush.
You think they've left, and you don't hear the door reopen. Dave comes back, looking a little shy, which is unusual for him. "I just.. wanted you to know how much you've meant to me since you started working here," he says, out of earshot of the girls. "You're more important to me than you think. You really help around the house and you watch over the kids. I'm glad you're here.. I'm very lucky to have you with us."
You've known Dave for several months, and he's not one to talk in circles. You have a feeling he's not saying something. "I'm the lucky one," you quietly reply.
Dave shakes his head. "You're really something, you know that?" His smile lights up his face.
You could stay here and flirt with him all night, but even though Carol's too much of a lady to honk the car horn while waiting for him, you let him know it's time to go. "Bye now. Happy anniversary, Mr. York."
He nods, winks at you, and leaves.

Chapter 15: Sympathy for the Devil POV (Y/n)
All my life I believed in what I could see and what I read because that led to what I could see. Getting all my information from my Dad, Bobby, my brothers, and lore books. I never would believe in a million years that I would be standing here in an abandoned convent at age twenty-four with the Devil ascending from Hell and my best friend being an Angel who I would slap silly for making me leave.
The whole building shook more and the light beaming more bright as he approached the surface more and more. “COME ON GUYS!” I shook them out of the staring gaze and we ran to the doors that of course slammed in front of us. “Oh come on give us a Damn break!” The three of us slammed our hands on the doors. Trying to get it open. It was no use the force was trying to keep us here. “I LOVE YOU GUYS!” I shouted over the shaking. “WE LOVE YOU TOO!” I closed my eyes to not be blinded before my death but it never happened.
Tumblr media
“What the devil is your name” “Sa-Sa-Sa-Sa-Yo-Yosemite Sam.” “Is that freaking Lonney tunes?” I opened my eyes and on the little TV was indeed Lonney tunes. “What the hell?” Dean questioned and rightfully so. We were on a fucking plane. “Folks, quick word from the flight deck. We're just passing over Ilchester, then Ellicott City, on our initial descent into Baltimore—” “Guys we were just in IIchester.” “So if you'd like to stretch your legs, now would be a good time to—” The pilot was starting to say but then the light beam came up almost crashing into the plane. The masks came down and we all grabbed one I was in the window seat and I was forced to look out to the world and the horrors that were about to unfold.
We had rented a car that we were probably never going to give back. And it seemed the whole world had seemed imploded in five minutes. “—saying it's very unlikely an abandoned convent would be a target for terrorists, either foreign or homegrown.” Never say never. “Change the station.” Dean said not wanting to hear. “—Hurricane Kinley, unexpectedly slamming into the Galveston area—” Again changed. “—announced a successful test of the North Korean nuclear—” Again. “—a series of tremors—” “—swine flu—” I reach forward and turn off the radio.
“Dean, look—” Sam didn’t even address me I don’t why. “Don't say anything.” “It's okay. We just got to keep our heads down and hash this out, all right?” Pause. Sam looked like a scared kid caught he kind of was. “All right, well, first things first—How did we end up on Soul Plane?” “My guess angels right it has to be of course Cas would save us.” They both looked back at me unsure maybe it was it wasn't that was what made it scary. “Well, whatever. It's the least of our worries. We need to find Cas.” Dean finished eyes focused on the road. And then a feeling came over me like it had never come before, extreme worry.
Tumblr media
We arrived at Chuck’s house and we slowly arrived inside our guns raised. “Chuck…” Everything had been thrown around like a tornado. Sam was turning the corner when Chuck came around and hit him with a toilet plunger. “Geez! Ow!” “Sam.” Chuck said happily. “Yeah!” Sam responded with a little sarcasm. “Hey, Chuck.”  Dean and I greeted. “So...you're okay?” He asked Sam cautiously. Sam held his head in pain. “Well, my head hurts.” “No, I mean—I mean, my—My last vision, You went, like, full-on Vader. Your body temperature was one-fifty. Your heart rate was two hundred. Your eyes were black.” Dean and I were both shocked to hear that. “Your eyes went black?” Dean asked. “I didn't know.” Great that's just great. “Look let's just talk to Cas bout this I'm sure he has an answer, So chuck where he is.” I asked sounding so sure.
“He's dead. Or gone. The archangel smote the crap out of him. I'm sorry.” As soon as the words left his lips it felt like the world had titled and that the words speaking were fuzzy. “You're sure? I mean, maybe he just vanished into the light or something.” Before Chuck could answer I interpreted. “Chuck… where is your bathroom?” He pointed upstairs. I slowly made my way upstairs kind of in a zombie-like state. My brothers looking at me worryingly. I entered the bathroom and just stared at the mirror. “Cas you stupid motherfuc-” I breathed in deeply trying to keep everything in but it didn't work.
The more I stared the more I got angry he was gone and I let him go. I punch the mirror and it shatters in big pieces I pick it up and look down at my broken image and end up cutting my hand. “Shit, fuck!” The pain reminded me that this was real not a nightmare. That I couldn't wake up and call for him and he would be there. I didn't have time to wrap it before I heard voices downstairs that were not there before.
But one, in particular, caught my attention fucking Zachariah. I walk back to it looks like the Angels threatening them. “You had a chance to stop your brother, and you couldn't. So let's not quibble over who started what. Let's just say it was— —all our faults and move on. 'Cause like it or not— —it's Apocalypse Now.” They then notice me. "Ah, Y/n finally joining us I see.” I was seething with so much rage that I couldn’t muster out any words all I could do was just tighten my fucked up hand. “Huh usually you have a comeback. Aww your bestie dying really upset you huh now that's adorable.” “THATS IT” I jumped to do what against an angel I don't know what but I was going to do something. Before anything, Sam held me back. “LET ME GO!” I threw back my head hitting Sam. “Fuck- Y/n you can't touch them!” “I can try!” Zach looked very happy to see my reaction.
“NOW that’s the Winchester fight I was looking for!” “Now Dean back to you, we're back on the same team again.” Dean heavily scoffed at that. “Is that so?” “You want to kill the devil. We want you to kill the devil. It's...synergy.” “And I'm just supposed to trust you?” “Cram it with walnuts, ugly.” Zach started to look annoyed. “This isn't a game, son. Lucifer is powerful in ways that defy description. We need to strike now, hard and fast—before he finds his vessel.” It makes sense he is well was an angel. “His vessel? Lucifer needs a meat suit?” Sam questioned.
“He is an angel. Them's the rules. And when he touches down, we're talking Four Horsemen, red oceans, fiery skies— the greatest hits. You can stop him, Dean, but you need our help.” “You listen to me, you two-faced douche. After what you did, I don't want jack squat from you!” Yeah, Dean! Stick it to the Angel. “You listen to me, boy! You think you can rebel against us? As Lucifer did?” I then noticed Dean’s hand and realized his plan. “You're bleeding.” Zack now realizing. “Yeah fuck head it's in case you of you showed up.” I pulled the door sideways and slammed my hand. a burst of white came through and the angel's screams went with it. “Learned that from my friend Cas, you son of a bitch.” I looked around with tears still stinging my eyes. “This sucks ass.” “Yes Chuck it really does.” I wiped my eyes and started to walk out.
Tumblr media
We had found a shitty little motel where probably more dead people had been here than alive but it would have to do for now. I was going over any Lucifer lore I could find which was a lot while Dean meticulously cleaned his gun which was his way of doing dishes to keep something off your mind. Sam had entered throwing something at Dean. I looked and it was a hex bag. “Here. Hex bags. No way the angels will find us with those. Demons, either, for that matter.” I stood to get closer to it. “Where'd you get it?” I questioned seeing the details. “I made it.” Dean and I both gaped at Sam.” like no offense but how” Sam timely glanced down and answered. “I...I learned it from Ruby.” He answered hesitantly.
“Well, at least she was somewhat useful instead of just being a lying snake bitch.” I tried to lighten the convo well in my way. Dean just asked Sam the question that we had both been wanting to ask. “Speaking of. How you doing? Are you jonesing for another hit of bitch blood or what?” “I-it's weird. Uh, tell you the truth, I'm fine. No shakes, no fever. It's like whoever...put me on that plane cleaned me right up.” Well that’s… convent. “Supernatural methadone.”
“Yeah, I guess.” “Guys-” “Sam. It's okay. You don't have to say anything.” Dean answered but I really didn’t know what to say. “Well, that's good. Because what can I even say? "I'm sorry"? "I screwed up"? Doesn't really do it justice, you know? Look, there's nothing I can do or say that will ever make this right—” “So why do you keep bringing it up?! Look, all I'm saying is, why do we have to put this under a microscope? We made a mess. We clean it up. That's it.” Sam nodded but I knew there would be more to come. “All right, so, say this is just any other hunt. You know? What do we do first?” “We'd, uh, figure out where the thing is.” I suggested. “All right. So we just got to find...the devil.” Yeah super easy.
I was still looking through lore and Sam was rereading Dad’s journal for like the thousandth time while Dean had the news on that was reminding us that the world was ending. “How would you then explain an earthquake, a hurricane, and multiple tornadoes, all at the same time, all around the globe?” The guy that was the scientist was trying to make sense. “Two words. Carbon emissions.” “Yeah, right, wavy gravy” Dean scarasacally replied. There's a knock on the door and we weren't expecting anyone so Sam goes to open the door with his gun ready. But uh there's someone there that we definitely did not know.
“You okay, lady?” “Sam...is it really you?” Sam looked back at us confused as hell and a little scared. This Becky steps in the room bewildered to be looking at Sam holding him tightly. “Uh, do I know you?” She let him go. “No. But I know you. You're Sam Winchester. And you're—” She looked to Dean and was Disaponited. “—not what I pictured. I'm Becky.” Then she saw me. “And you are Y/n Winchester let me just say that I aspire to be as badass as you every day.” She shook my hand hard. “Uh thank you.”
“I read all about you guys. And I've even written a few—” A few WHAT? Maybe I don’t want to know. “Anyway, Mr. Edlund told me where you were.” “Chuck?” “He's got a message, but he's being watched. Angels. Nice change-up to the mythology, by the way. The demon stuff was getting kind of old.” I wish I could pick which monsters I fight day to day. “Right. Just, um...what's the message?” Sam questioned. “He had a vision. "The Michael sword is on earth. The angels lost it."” She repeated dramatically.
“The Michael sword?” Dean asked. “Becky, does he know where it is?” “In a castle, on a hill made of forty-two dogs.” “Becky, what the Fuck does that mean?”   “It doesn't make sense, but that's what he said.” Becky stepped closer again to Sam. “I memorized every word. For you.” She hugged Sam tight again. “Uh, Becky can you stop hugging me?” “No” “Okay Becky thank you.” I grabbed her but she had a bit of a death grip. “Becky Let go!” “Never!”
Tumblr media
We had finally gotten Becky outside but holy shit she could be a contender for a strong man contest. There’s another knock on the door and thankfully it wasn't a crazy fangirl. “Hey Bobby” It was good to see him especially after... Cas. When I went to hug him something felt different maybe it was the situation but it felt muddy hugging him. “Good to see you kids all in one piece.” “You weren't followed, were you?” Dean checked with Bobby. “You mean by angels, demons, or Sam's new superfan?” We all chuckled. “I heard, Romeo. So...sword of Michael, huh?” “You think we're talking about the actual sword from the actual archangel?” “You better friggin' hope so.” Bobby opened a lore book to a picture to the Archangel Michael.
“That's Michael. Toughest son of a bitch they got.” “You kidding me? Tough? That guy looks like Cate Blanchett.” Dean committed. “Well, I wouldn't want to meet him in a dark alley, believe me. He commands the heavenly host. During the last big dust-up upstairs, he's the one who booted Lucifer's ass to the basement. Did it with that sword.” “So if we can find it…” “We can kick the devil's ass all over again. All right. So, where do we start?” Sam finalized. “Divvy up and start reading—try and make sense of Chuck's nonsense.” I go back to the lore while Bobby asks Sam “Kid? You all right?” “No, actually. Bobby, this is all my fault. I'm sorry.”
Dean and I look at each other In what’s about to happen. “Lilith did not break the final seal. Lilith was the final seal.” “Sam-” “I killed her, and I set Lucifer free.” “You what?” Bobby was confused. “You guys warned me about Ruby, the demon blood, but I didn't listen. I brought this on” Oh Sam. “You're damn right you didn't listen. You were reckless and selfish and arrogant.” “I'm sorry.” “Oh, yeah? You're sorry you started Armageddon? This kind of thing don't get forgiven, boy. If, by some miracle, we pull this off...I want you to lose my number. You understand me?” What the Hell!? I understood that he messed up but he’s Sam our Family I would have to talk to Bobby later. “There's an old church nearby. Maybe I'll go read some of the lore books there.” “Yeah. You do that.”  “Sam I'll come too.” “You sure?” “Yeah let’s go.”
Tumblr media
The church was kind of abandoned everyone had gone home to their families with all the horrible shit going down. The books had dust covered all over them. “Um I'll start here and I'll start here.” Sam pointed a direction for me but I think he needed a different one. “Sam what Bobby said he didn't mean it.” “Yeah sure he didn't.” We sat on a table. “We just all are scared.” “Y/n why haven’t you said anything to me about Ruby?”
“Well, I don’t think me saying I told you so would help anything.” “But aren’t you angry at me? Hate me.” I was shocked at that. “Sam of course I'm… angry but I could never Hate you.” “Really?” He stared at me tears welling up. “With Dean dying last year and… Cas I don’t think we have time to hate. Why would I waste time hating when I could love the people who mean the most. Sam, you're human you made a mistake now you get to make up for it.” I smiled at him and squeezed his hand. “You're the best sister a brother could ask for.” “And you're the best big brother a sister could ask for.” We hugged. “Okay let's actually look.” Sam sniffled and went to the books.
While I somehow made my way to the front of the church sighing and sitting on the pew. “Ha, I can't believe I'm here again.” “Look, God, I know me talking to you is kind of insane you know I didn't even believe in you until a prayer was answered. By an Angel who saved my life.” The tears came rolling down. “Castiel you can't be… dead there I said it you can't because I'm still here because of you so you have to be too.” I wiped the tears. “Y/n you okay?” “Uh yeah let's go”
Tumblr media
We walked into chaos Bobby was on the floor bleeding out. “NO!” “Heya, Sammy. You miss me? 'Cause I sure missed you.”  A woman demon said. “Meg?” FUCK “Hey N/n I heard you had an angel on your shoulder where is he?” She tilted her head in amusement. “Oh, you asked for it Bitch!” I punched her square in the nose. “I see you got better at fighting good I like a challenge.” She kicked at my feet but I dodged it and threw her against the wall. The three of us cornered her and she smoked out like a coward. “Bobby!” I applied pressure to the stab.
We had gotten to the storage room after dropping Bobby at the ER even though we wanted to stay. We entered and there were two dead demons on the ground. “I see you told the demons where the sword is.” “Oh, thank god. The angels are here.” “And to think...they could have grabbed it any time they wanted.” Zach peered at Dean. “It was right in front of them.” “What do you mean?” “We may have planted that particular piece of prophecy inside Chuck's skull, but it happened to be true. We did lose the Michael sword. We truly couldn't find it. Until now. You've just hand-delivered it to us.” I glanced around seeing no sword.
“I knew you were ugly Zach but not blind.” I practically spit out to him. “We don't have anything.” “It's you, chucklehead. You're the Michael sword.” “What, you thought you could actually kill Lucifer? You simpering wad of insecurity and self-loathing? No. You're just a human, Dean. And not much of one.” “What do you mean, I'm the sword?” “You're Michael's weapon. Or, rather, his...receptacle.” “I'm a vessel?” “You're the vessel. Michael's vessel.” “How? Why—why me?” “Because you're chosen! It's a great honor, Dean.” Zach is being a huge ass. “Oh, yeah. Yeah, life as an angel condom. That's real fun. I think I'll pass, thanks.” “Joking. Always joking. Well...no more jokes.” Zach raises his hands like guns. “Bang.” And suddenly my leg is broken. “AHH” So is Sam’s.
“You son of a bitch!” “Keep mouthing off, I'll break more than their legs. I am completely and utterly through screwing around. The war has begun. We don't have our general. That's bad. Now, Michael is going to take his vessel and lead the final charge against the adversary. You understand me?”  “How many humans die in the crossfire, huh? A million? Five, ten?” “Probably more. If Lucifer goes unchecked, you know how many die? All of them. He'll roast the planet alive.” “There's a reason you're telling me this instead of just nabbing me. You need my consent. Michael needs my say-so to ride around in my skin.” “Unfortunately, yes.” “Well, there's got to be another way.” “There is no other way. There must be a battle. Michael must defeat the serpent. It is written.” “Yeah, maybe. But, on the other hand... Eat me. The answer's no.” “Okay. How about this? Your friend Bobby—we know he's gravely injured. Say yes, and we'll heal him. Say no, he'll never walk again.” “No.”
“Then how about we heal you from...stage-four stomach cancer?” Dean doubles over spilling blood. “No.” “Then let's get really creative. Uh, let's see how...Sam does without his lungs. And Y/n no heart.” He snapped his fingers and I felt my body stiffen up. “Are we having fun yet? You're going to say yes, Dean” “Just kill us.” “Kill you? Oh, no. I'm just getting started.” There was a burst light then talking but I couldn't make it out. Then the pain stopped I looked up and It was Cas standing over me putting his hand over my heart. “Cas….” Then everything went black.
Tumblr media
“CAS!” I woke up in a hospital bed. “Woah woah take kid take it easy your heart literally can't take it.” It was Dean. “Dean, what happened?” “Uh, Cas came in saving us he healed you.” “Where is he?”I dont know.” “The doctors said that you probably wouldn't have made it if you had not the CPR aka the Angel healing. But they want to keep you for observation.” “How's Bobby?” “About to find out you just rest kid we have lots to tell you after.” “Kay” He left and I am left to think. But I knew whatever what was going to happen it was going to be okay. With Cas alive everything was okay.
Tumblr media

What’s your favorite scene in the Tremors series?
Bestie this is the hardest question in the world so have 1 per movie:
Tremors 1: the "pole vaulting" scene - when I was little I would take a long stick and jump around the yard. It had a lasting impact.
Tremors 2: "I feel I was denied critical, need-to-know, information!"
Tremors 3: the entire junkyard fight scene lives in my mind rent free
Tremors 4: not-Burt coming back with the punt gun is iconic
I'm not going to mention 5-7 because, eh, and I haven't watched the TV series in so long.

warning(s): post break up - nightmares - descriptions of possibly graphic occurrences - Y/N is bitter - Agatha is shocked - we learn (a little bit) more of Y/N’s background - my italian is…not good so i relied heavily on google translate, my deepest apologies - feels rushed (?) - Y/N's brothers are from another cinematic/tv universe but I couldn't help myself lol - I'm not Italian, I have not yet been to Italy (but I will be this summer), I am American and all depictions of Europe/italy in this fic will be most likely stereotypical bc as stated before, I have not been to Italy and all my references are movies
prompt: agatha breaks up with you in the late 1800s because she can’t handle the idea of you dying. little does she know that you’re also immortal. years, years, and years later, you both run into each other in a market
part two: the past collides
Tumblr media
You knew to expect the nightmares, the visions of that day, that week, playing over and over in your head like some demented film. At night, you could feel the heat, the ash settling on your skin, a blanket that trapped you within your mind. The haunting screams of your neighbors sent chills up your spine.
At one point, they had gotten better. You could sleep at night without the smell of charred flesh keeping you awake. You could sleep without the suffocating survivor's guilt weighing on your chest. You could sleep without reliving the destruction of your home.
But then, she left you. Left you to fend for yourself while nursing a broken heart.
And so, the nightmares returned.
-
When the tremors began, no one panicked. No one fled the city, no one put up any precautions, not one person felt the stillness in the air, like the gods above were holding their breath. Years later, you admitted to an itch under your skin, like you were waiting for the proverbial shoe to drop.
You were in your courtyard, examining your lemon crops, enjoying the warm breeze as your light weight dress swayed around your ankles, when the sky screamed and the ground shook. Cries of your city rang through the air as hot ash fell from the ashes, burning skin and destroying livelihoods.
Hours compacted into minutes as you stood frozen, watching the destruction of your city. Building crumbled, people encased in ash, waves of heat blowing by to take the last strands of hope away. You remember crawling out from your crumbled courtyard, desperately looking around until you looked up to see a rock falling from the giant cloud of darkness, hurtling, hurtling, hurtling, until your vision went dark.
-
Gasping, you sat up in your bed, clutching your sheets to your chest, breath erratic. Slowly, you calmed down, running a hand through your hair and dragging it down across your face until you checked the time. Sighing, you leaned back in bed, the bright 6:00am numbers blaring in your mind. Today would be a calm day, you told yourself, melting back into your blanket, letting your eyes close, going back into the peaceful darkness-
“Rise and shine!”
The door to your room burst open, revealing one of your brothers holding a tray full of food, some of which looked extremely unbalanced.
“Damon, I swear to god-”
The tray plopped down on you, splashing your face with orange juice and coolled bacon grease. You struggled to hold back a smile as you wiped away the offending juices, sending your brother an amused look as he stood at the end of your bed, hands behind his back as he looked at you expectantly.
“Did you do this yourself?”
You asked, picking up a piece of bacon with slight skepticism. Damon rolled his eyes, a smile tugging on his lips.
“Don’t worry, Sofie helped, and Stefan, if you count pointing out the fact I was holding a knife wrong helping.”
You snorted, digging into your breakfast after learning it wasn’t solely the work of your brother.
“We should really give Sofie a raise, I mean, being stuck with me for eternity is a gift but you and Stefan? Oof-”
You threw an apple slice at Damon, who dogged it with a laugh.
“Come on, sorella, when you’re finished eating, get dressed, we’re going down to the farmers market. A friend of our fathers is in from Croatia with some extremely expensive fabrics he thought you might like.”
-
Agatha walked through the ancient streets of Italy, breathing in the clear air as her footsteps echoed on the cobblestones. She had pulled back her hair, her long dark curls swaying in the warm summer wind. This was exactly the escape she needed after the disaster in Westview and her breaking free of the mental torture Wa- The Scarlet Witch had put her in.
It was earlier in the morning yet Agatha heard the voices of a crowd a few streets down. Turning a corner, she saw a market place, filled with Italian goods and imports from all over Europe and the world. Swallowing down a pull in her heart, a pull that reminded her of the times you would ramble about your homeland, of the clear air and the markets full of goods, Agatha made her way into the market. She twirled her fingers nonchalantly, purple smoke poofing Italian euros into her pocket. For once in her life, the witch had no agenda.
She made her way through the crowd, stopping at every other vendor to examine the goods. At one stop, her eyes caught a gorgeous roll of fabric, its captivating color dazzling in the sun. Agatha reached for it, as if in a gaze, not noticing the other hand also going to grasp the cloth. As her hand brushed the skin of the others, a spark went up her arm, causing Agatha to gasp as she pulled away, her eyes widening as she saw a ghost from her past.
-
After breakfast, you got dressed while joking with Sofie about what had happened in the kitchen this morning. Your flowing skirt with a lightweight blouse tucked in would help you keep cool in the summer’s heat. Just as Sofie finished braiding your hair, a tradition you two had kept since the eruption, your father walked into your room with a wide smile on his face.
“Are you ready, il mio fiore?”
You nodded, standing up and hooking your arm with Sofie’s.
As you walked down the streets of your homeland, your mind couldn’t help but stray into the differences that had occurred over the millenia. The culture, the architecture, the people, had all changed yet you still couldn’t ignore the distinct sense of home you felt as you passed by every house, shop, restaurant.
Once you were in the market, Sofie made her way to the vendor which sold Venetian glass so she could definitely not flirt with the vendor's son. You wandered through the market, your father at your side, rambling about how he saw an Avenger yesterday. You nodded and smiled at a passersby, laughing slightly at your father’s ridiculous story. He gently touched your elbow, causing the two of you to pause in front of the vendor with the gorgeous fabric. When your eyes met the cloth, your mind started calculating all you could make with it. Definitely a dress for Sofie when she landed a date with that vendor’s son she definitely wasn’t flirting with. A shirt for Damon, a belt for Stefan, a pair of spectacular slacks for yourself- You hadn’t noticed you were reaching for the fabric when your hand brushed against someone else’s. You gasped, looking up as if to apologize for your daze when your eyes met shocked blue ones. Taking a step back, it was like time paused around you. Your father continued to speak with the vendor as you stared down the lookalike of the woman who broke your heart. Cocking your head to the side, you barely registered that the woman was stuttering out incomplete sentences, obviously as shocked as you were. You felt an air around her, one which you dismissed all those years ago. Magic. Agatha was a witch. This wasn’t a lookalike, this…this was truly Agatha Harkness.
“Y/N?”
Her quiet voice broke through your thoughts, causing your eyes to snap once more to hers.
“How is this…? I mean, I thought you were…”
Dead. The unused word rang between the both of you.
You had also assumed Agatha dead, you had mourned her in the 50s, not leaving your bed as it had crashed upon you that your great love had passed.
“You were wrong.”
Your cold tone caused Agatha to visibly pale, her own words from so long ago echoed back to her. She opened her mouth to speak but you turned toward the vendor, your tone deceptively sweet.
“Mi scusi signore, vorrei il resto di questa stoffa per favore.”
As the vendor carefully wrapped your purchase, you felt Agatha’s eyes boring into you. After you paid, you told your father you would be leaving, letting him have more time with his friend. But as you turned to leave, a hand grasped your arm, fingers tightening desperately. You didn’t turn around but you did pause.
“Y/N, please, how is this possible?”
Sighing, you did turn around.
“I guess there are things about me you never got to learn.”
a/n: ahhhhh I finally finished part 2!! hopefully you enjoyed this!! sorry for the sudden ending though lol

4 Dead, 60 Injured As "Strongest Earthquake In 25 Years" Hits Taiwan
At least four people were killed and nearly 60 injured Wednesday by a powerful earthquake in Taiwan that damaged dozens of buildings and prompted tsunami warnings that extended to Japan and the Philippines before being lifted.
Tumblr media
Officials said the quake was the strongest to shake the island in decades, and warned of more tremors in the days ahead.
"The earthquake is close to land and it's shallow. It's felt all over Taiwan and offshore islands," said Wu Chien-fu, director of Taipei's Central Weather Administration's Seismology Center.
Strict building regulations and disaster awareness appear to have staved off a major catastrophe for the island, which is regularly hit by earthquakes as it lies near the junction of two tectonic plates.
Wu said the quake was the strongest since a 7.6-magnitude struck in September 1999, killing around 2,400 people in the deadliest natural disaster in the island's history.
Wednesday's magnitude-7.4 quake struck just before 8:00 am local time (0000 GMT), with the United States Geological Survey (USGS) putting the epicentre 18 kilometres (11 miles) south of Taiwan's Hualien City, at a depth of 34.8 kilometres.
Three people among a group of seven on an early-morning hike through the hills that surround the city were crushed to death by boulders loosened by the earthquake, officials said.
Separately, a truck driver died when his vehicle was hit by a landslide as it approached a tunnel in the area.
Social media was awash with shared video and images from around the country of buildings swaying as the quake struck.
"I wanted to run out, but I wasn't dressed. That was so strong," said Kelvin Hwang, a guest at a hotel in the capital, Taipei, who sought shelter in the lift lobby on the ninth floor.
Dramatic images were shown on local TV of multi-storey structures in Hualien and elsewhere tilting after it ended, while a warehouse in New Taipei City crumbled.
Local TV channels showed bulldozers clearing rocks along roads to Hualien, a mountain-ringed coastal city of around 100,000 people that was cut off by landslides.
President Tsai Ing-wen called for local and central government agencies to coordinate with each other, and said that the national army would also be providing support.
The National Fire Agency confirmed the death toll, adding nearly 60 people had been treated for quake-related injuries.
Regional impact - In Taiwan, Japan and the Philippines, authorities initially issued a tsunami warning but by around 10 am (0200 GMT), the Pacific Tsunami Warning Center said the threat had "largely passed".
In the capital, the metro briefly stopped running but resumed within an hour, while residents received warnings from their local borough chiefs to check for any gas leaks.
Taiwan is regularly hit by earthquakes as the island lies near the junction of two tectonic plates, while nearby Japan experiences around 1,500 jolts every year.
Across the Taiwan Strait, social media users in China's eastern Fujian province, which borders Guangdong in the south, and elsewhere said they also felt strong tremors.
Residents of Hong Kong also reported feeling the earthquake.
China, which claims self-ruled Taiwan as a renegade province, was "paying close attention" to the quake and "willing to provide disaster relief assistance", state news agency Xinhua said.
Fabrication at Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Company -- the world's biggest chip maker -- was briefly interrupted at some plants, a company official told AFP, while work at construction sites for new plants was halted for the day.
The vast majority of quakes around the area are mild, although the damage they cause varies according to the depth of the epicentre below the Earth's surface and its location.
The severity of tsunamis -- vast and potentially destructive series of waves that can move at hundreds of kilometres per hour -- also depends on multiple factors.
Japan's biggest earthquake on record was a massive 9.0-magnitude undersea jolt in March 2011 off Japan's northeast coast, which triggered a tsunami that left around 18,500 people dead or missing.
The 2011 catastrophe also sent three reactors into meltdown at the Fukushima nuclear plant, causing Japan's worst post-war disaster and the most serious nuclear accident since Chernobyl.
Japan saw a major quake on New Year's Day this year, when a 7.5-magnitude tremor hit the Noto Peninsula and killed more than 230 people, many of them when older buildings collapsed.

Can we get a sneak peek at any wips you've been working on?
you know i'm weak to this kind of question pal. not counting the stabbing story, i got four one shots on the backburner/sideburners:
chase-13 friendship story (90% complete, fighting the last scene):
“You think our patient and her boyfriend are gonna last?” she asks. “For a couple of months,” Chase says with confidence: he’s clearly thought about it. “She’s still in recovery. He won’t leave before she gets better.” “I heard she’s going with the pig valve,” Thirteen counters. “She’s doing what he wants, not what the internet tells her.” “She’ll pretend to be a good girlfriend for a few months, but go right back to her old ways.” “Okay, House,” she says, amused. “I thought you were kind of into the no secrets thing.” Chase hums. “Obviously you’re not, Thirteen.” “Of course I’m not,” she admits, laughing, although it isn’t at all funny. “I keep secrets about myself from myself when I can.” She glances down at her hand, as though she’ll see a tremor. Curls her fingers into a loose fist. “Like you’re any different? You broke House’s nose…” “He was taking shots,” Chase says, smooth and prepared. “He’s always taking shots. You were sick of people asking about Cameron.” She sort of hopes he’ll flinch, or react, let her know she’s nailed it, but Chase just stares down at his glass and takes another swallow.
mutual babytrap death spiral (???? not sure how much i have left playing it by ear. maybe 50%?)
House has been making fun of him for taking out his phone so often, and Chase is sure House knows — not only that Chase keeps thinking of calling Cameron, but why and for what purpose. Somehow, no one seems to have realized she was there the night of the lockdown. That he’d signed the divorce papers, that they’d had sex in an exam room, although he’s sure that if House knew about that there’d be no mystery left. Can practically hear it: So, how did your pathetic last-ditch attempt to win her back work out for you? Very well, if you looked at it one way. Terribly, if you looked at it another. Since Dibala, he’s been going to church again. It’s a reoccurring disorder. Goes once every couple years and it turns into addiction, confessing all his petty sins for the relief of forgiveness. Placebo effect, pure and simple. Eventually the rush wears off. He starts self-editing. Confessing to little things he doesn’t regret, leaving out Father, I don’t think my wife would leave me if she was pregnant. The odds are decent, he thinks, that the Church would agree.
inklings of a pre-series chase working for house alone story (10% but recently i had some Good Ideas so we'll see):
“There’ve been three… four others in the fellowship program,” Wilson says. It’s a quieter day in the clinic, and their assigned shifts overlap this week. “Three of them lasted a couple months. The fourth guy quit before the end of his first day.” “I met Dr. Reynolds,” Chase says. They’d overlapped by about a week before the shouting match in House’s office. Reynolds had grabbed his coat and stormed out without a glance in Chase’s direction and he’d had the urge to cringe down in his chair. House had stayed silent and stayed in his office. After a few minutes, he’d turned on the TV. The machine by the clinic is always out of order, so Chase had needed to trek to the cafeteria to get them coffees. Wilson had been faintly embarrassed by the gesture, which made him eager to return the favor with gossip. Chase sips his own coffee, which tastes both watery and burnt.
this goddamn "chase meeting cameron's parents" thing i started forever ago and have no idea how to finish but it seems like a perfect storm of asskissing and daddy issues and reddish flags. i'm in a longterm war with this thing:
She pulls into her street. Her driveway. Eyes fixing, as ever, first on her bedroom window: second floor, second from the left. She likes knowing it’s still there. Likes knowing it still exists. The house is boring suburbia: a split level built in the 60s. Beige sliding, fake bricks. “Here we are!” she says, full of pep and false cheer: Chase stares transfixed, and she feels a moment of self consciousness. “I know it’s not much compared to whatever mansion —“ “I didn’t grow up in a mansion,” he corrects irritably. She’s being mean again. Cameron bites her lip. Unbuckles her seatbelt. Chase doesn’t move for a long moment. “Are you nervous?” she asks, and feels guilty it hadn’t occurred to her before. Guilter as she considers it. Chase doesn’t talk about his family much, but she knows his childhood was far from happy. “Your parents will like me,” he says, again, and it occurs to Cameron that he’s reassuring himself as much as her.

A few days ago I was turned onto “Tubi”, another online TV/Movie streaming service.  On the surface it’s nothing special, but it does cover a lot of territory that the other streaming services leave empty.
It’s fully ad supported, so there are no fees at all.  That does mean it comes with commercials, but at least it’s not commercials with an additional fee on top.  I’ve also heard (But cannot confirm) that the commercials are noticeably less frequent than other free-with-ads streaming services.
The bigger selling point is that it does not require an account for use, all of the content is directly available from its website without any login.  You can create an account if you want (View your history, set parental controls for children, etc.), but if you’re traveling or got a new computer you don’t need to worry about any login issues or concerns about sharing your account info.
Babylon 5 is how I first discovered the service, when I went looking for places to stream the series after it left HBO Max.
The rest of its library is absolutely fascinating.  It’s missing a lot of the bigger hit TV shows and movies, which isn’t surprising since so many studios and media conglomerates are setting up their own independent exclusive streaming services.  But what it does have is a lot of content that I can’t find streaming anywhere else.  Reboot from my childhood, the full series for Andromeda, and Tremors: The Series.  It has the original Generation 1 The Transformers cartoon, plus what looks like almost every subsequent series (Including Beast Wars).  Even the Strange Empire TV series that was my first introduction to Cara Gee.  There’s a lot of the deep-dive backlog that normally you need to find on websites of ill repute instead of a proper streaming service.
The biggest downside seems to be that they don’t stream in the higher HD specs.  The highest they go is 720p, and not every video is available in full 720 even if there have been HD releases elsewhere (Babylon 5 is only available in 576p, even though they are the remastered episodes that were released in 2021).  This isn’t a huge problem, I’ve long been a proponent of “good enough” home media distribution, but it is a drawback if you’re trying to find something in 1080 or 4K.  On the upside, the uploads have not been highly compressed for streaming, so the video quality is quite good despite the lower definition.
If you’re looking to save money by ditching cable/satellite TV or subscription streaming, this could be a big help.  Even if you don’t want to completely ditch the other services, this grants access to a lot of content you won’t find on the big name websites.
