Now Dan is no coward. He’s not. 

But this stupid child body does have an effect on his reactions to things and honestly it’s a horrible thing that’s too small and too weak for him to use all his abilities. He could barely manage a fireball if he concentrated, yet everything caught fire with a mere outburst! His control was utterly gone, and a tantrum resulted in having to wear a stupid child leash backpack. 

It wasn’t like he was really a child, and it wasn’t like he’d get lost or some stupid shit that Danny would insist. Ugh, this isn’t even fair, technically he was older than him yet was stuck in a smaller body that he kept tripping over! 

Urgh, he’s even insisting on rewarding ‘good behavior’ and shit- must have talked to Jazz or something- because… Oh. No he wants the constellation bear, give! His star bear now, no takes back and, urgh, stupid baby body! 

Well, on the other hand, it’s utterly hilarious how much Danny sputters whenever he calls him Mom, not to mention strangers’ utter befuddlement. He ignores how Danny seems to be trying his best to live up ro the title. 

But! As he was saying, he’s no coward! He’s also not an idiot though, and having no control over his powers isn’t exactly a good thing. It’s really not a good thing when there’s a murderous-looking hero that he thinks he might have maimed in the future- which they apparently remember- staring down at him. So, he has to call in the big guns to fix this. 

“Mom, there’s a creepy fruitloop staring at me!” “There’s WHAT?!” Hah. Take that hero he doesn’t remember the name of.

Like it is played into so much more than most actually popular DC slash ships, but I borderline hesitate it to call it queerbaiting because they're so unsuccessful at actually baiting shippers. I swear they get more attention when they just have batman and superman stand in the same room.

Eleven years after the War, Harry Potter showed up at one of Draco’s lectures.

It’s not the fact of his appearance that surprised Draco—although, perhaps, he would have expected it sooner, and thought Potter would be more sneaky about it; pretending he was on Auror business, or Glamouring himself, or something equally transparent.

But no. Potter was sitting there, third row, in old jeans and Nikes, taking notes.

Afterwards, Potter loitered by the door, and when all the students had left, he just tipped his head towards the exit. 

‘Coffee?’

They each paid separately. Harry got an Americano, extra shot, and Draco a chai latte; he couldn’t do caffeine this late in the day. They sat at a table by the window, the long summer sun pouring over them.

‘What is a conspiracy theory?’ was Potter’s first question, almost as soon as Draco pulled in his chair.

Bart is frozen. He’s terrified- his heart is beating faster in his chest than it’s ever done before yet he couldn’t even start to force himself to run, his body practically vibrating in place as he shook. 

There was a familiar feeling in the air, one he’d never thought he’d ever feel again once he’d slipped back in time. He couldn’t breathe, everything felt like it was falling away except for that horrifying fiery aura- 

“Kid, are you okay?” There was a hand on his shoulder, light as a feather (he’d learned that from gramps!) yet grounding. 

He finally managed to suck in a breath, however wheezy, and looked up to answer, the words dying in his throat before they even began. 

“Kid? Holy shit-” Bart didn’t hear anything else as his poor brain fizzled and he fainted. 

Danny blinks down at the barely-teenager who seemed to just have some sort of attack before fainting practically in his arms. He’d say diabetes or something, but he has no way to be sure and is maybe panicking himself. 

“Wow Mum, wha’ you do?” a toddler Dan- he knew what he did but honestly his baby lisp was adorable- snarked from next to him, chewing on his kid leash. Which he wasn’t getting out of until he could both stop floating whenever he saw the stars (yes he knew he used to do the same thing, shush) and walk out into traffic.

I want a hard travelling heroes TV show but when I say that I don’t mean I want a faithful adaptation. That would be terrible. I want an adaptation that’s faithful in spirit. Give me a ridiculously topical political commentary on America (but more nuanced, sorry Denny).

I want to see Green Arrow and Green lantern deal with the futility of the opioid crisis and go against MAGA and corrupt cops. I want to see them help undocumented immigrants after Hal’s expressed concerns that what these people doing is illegal and Ollie calls him a fascist bootlicker. I want the finale to be Hal deciding to wreck the Ferris air base after he finds out they hurt the anti war activists protesting them and quitting for good as he contemplates his own complicity in their actions. (He does that in the original over environmental concerns btw)

Give it to a bunch of angry, promising leftwing writers and tell them to go off. Hire a diverse writing room to tell the stories. Green lit a DinahHalOllie polycule subplot. Make the anti woke crowd fume.
