Despite a months-long campaign against the organizers and content of the Congress of Palestine solidarity groups, the event began on Friday afternoon in Berlin-Tempelhof. On Friday, politicians from all parties continued to stir up opposition to the congress. in case there are insane people like me who want to watch Tatort but don't speak German, here's my process to translate the subtitles :

download the episode (mediathekview*)

download the subtitles (mediathekview*)

open the subtitles file in Subtitle Edit (free to download, easy to use)

select all the lines and copy+paste them in a word document (*)

open translate.google.com and translate the document (i usually do "detect language" so that it translates all the languages in case there are several)

download the translation and open the document

copy+paste all the text into subtitle edit

save the file as .srt (the usual format)

open the episode in vlc, drag & drop the sub file into vlc and voilà !

*mediathekview is in german but you can manage to use it quite easily even when you barely understand a word. if not, i also use internet download manager and its firefox/chrome plugin, it recognizes when there's a video in a webpage, and it'll even download the subtitles (vtt file) !

(*) if you want a better translation, before copy+pasting them, you can "unbreak the lines" with the "unbreak line" button just below the lines. subtitles are broken up into 2 lines, and sentences then lose meaning when google translates them as two different sentences.

Blind Channel - Gekirock

The new heroes of the rock scene taking Europe by storm is the six-piece group nicknamed the Finnish Linkin Park, Blind Channel. They just made their Japanese debut last December with their album "Lifestyle of the Sick & Dangerous" , their new song "Flatline" is already available on all streaming services! They also released a choreographed music video in which the right arm is parallel and pressed against the chest to represent a flatline. This choreographed music video is said to be the first of its kind by a metal band; it had become a topic on TikTok and elsewhere.
