painful intercourse, to the point there are times i cant ignore it and we have to stop, this leads to me feeling insecure and feeling like im disappointing my partners.

extremely painful periods, to the point i went to the hospital almost every time i got one

intersexism and internalized intersexism

i grew up with no gender marker on any of my legal documents

painful cysts on my ovaries

being made fun of by sexual partners for having abnormal genitalia

having intimate photos of myself shared because AND I QUOTE “you just look weird down there”

never feeling like i fit in with the girls or boys

not feeling like im trans enough because i was never female to start so im technically not even FTM trans

having to argue with doctors because they used to acknowledge i was intersex and refuse to diagnose me as such

people not understanding when i say im intersex and having to explain my diagnosis every single time because people wont let it be at just “im intersex, that means im not male or female” and they always want more details

people staring at my genitalia, people taking photos up my skirts and asking to see my body

being made fun of when i was little for being too masculine and having male features

being excluded from the LGBT community

long story short i get stared at every time i go out all because i have tits a dick and im currently growing facial hair.

shits rough out here i just wanted to being awareness to some of the things intersex people go through on a regular basis.

Maybe it's being intersex maybe it's being trans but I think the "force feminize our femboys, real femboys take e" jokes are all absolutely disgusting. I understand it's a joke about trans women eggs but it does not rinse the rancid taste from my mouth.

I was forced against my will to be feminized. I was traumatized, watching each day my body further betray me. Trans femboys exist. There shouldn't be barely ironic jokes about forcing or pressuring people into transitioning. Not in the sense of "one trans person represents all of us to bigots" but in the "we are fucking trans and should understand being against forcing someone into a gender. It's not funny just because you have the power" way

Regardless of what the discourse is, there's a really uncomfortable trend I've noticed regarding the language people use in these discussions.

"Roleplaying", "pretending", "faking", and the usage of "real"/"actual" are all, quite honestly, really inflammatory language and I've never seen it end well.

Even for points I may otherwise somewhat agree with or find interesting, the usage of this language and the act of assuming in/authenticity in this way (as well as the assumption that one can determine who is and is not in/authentic) makes me not want to engage at all, because it's just a very cruel way of framing it to me. I've seen this language really hurt people. I've seen people really spiral and become suicidal over it. It's not language that should be tossed around.

I just saw a post talking about “transintersex” people. The tone of this post was angry, sarcastic, and derogatory.

Now, the reason for that anger is legitimate: if you are perisex, meaning you are not intersex, you cannot “transition” into being intersex. There is a history of perisex trans folks misusing intersex terminology while also managing to completely ignore and dismiss actual intersex people.

I've browsed the tag and also seen some folks who are actually intersex and trans who use this word too, so it seems like it has mixed usage. The following is therefore only aimed at perisex trans people.

Some perisex trans people do in fact want a mix of sex traits. This is not intersexist on its own. It is perfectly ok to want a dick and a vagina, for example. But this does not make you intersex. You cannot transition to become intersex.

If you are perisex and have been identifying as transintersex, I understand that you are probably just trying to find a word that describes your experience. Unfortunately, you’ve been causing harm to our intersex siblings. Fortunately, there’s already a word for how you feel that has been around since 1996 and that doesn’t appropriate from or harm intersex people:

Salmacian.

This identity is for anyone who wants mixed genitals.

If you don’t want mixed genitals, and just want other mixed features, then nonbinary, agender, bigender, genderless, genderqueer or neutrois may work for you.

Stop appropriating intersex language.

im going to hold your hand when i tell you this but…

yes, yes they can… have you heard of gender affirming care before? yeah…

for example getting a phalloplasty without a vaginectomy,, would you not call someone with those genitals intersex?

or getting a vaginoplasty without a penectomy

like at least do research before claiming something cause all it took was a google search and multiple different types of gender affirming care came up for transintersex or nonbinary folks, there are options out there.

edit: yall arent getting the post and thats okay but theres no need to attack me for it. im not saying that intersex = both bits, im saying that could be considered intersex and its possible to transition to having intersex traits. im not saying you can transtition to have a DSD but you can definitely transition to not be male or female… making you intersex.

ANOTHER EDIT: intersex is a term for those born with physical sex characteristics that cannot be traditionally classified as male or female. what would you classify someone with mixed genitals if not intersex?

I follow intersex tags on my main, as a cisintersex person. This way, I get good ol' intersex content on my dash often, and what do I see? Some clown placing 'transintersex' people among horrendously intersexist things. These people actually believe someone who wants or desires to be intersex/more intersex is in the same boat as fucking TERFs who call us "people with DSD" and at this point I fear the person who made that post may be too far gone if they genuinely believe that.

There is a point where, in your brigade to call everything intersexist, that you need to actually analyze things that actively hurt ALL intersex people. 'DSD', which stands for 'disordered sex development' for those who are unaware, actually harms the community. Forced binaries, such as 'amab/afab genitals', 'TME/TMA', painting 'cis/trans' as clear cut opposites where you can only be one, etc actually harms us. Genital surgeries, forced HRT, the fact that DOCTORS still see us as things to be fixed... THAT harms us. The vehement erasure of intersex people at pride events harms us.

For somebody to sit behind a screen and even acknowledge the horrors intersex people face, only to throw transintersex people under the bus while they're at it, is upsetting to me. I see all this hatred, cries of intersexism, towards transintersex individuals and cannot for the life of me see the point or reason behind it. It's possible that it's just cashing in on the current transID hate fad, which has poisoned so many supposed safe spaces... but it's still so upsetting to watch multiple communities I'm a part of waste their time on transID folk.

Whether or not you actually believe transID is all fetishization and that, in turn, means bigotry, one cannot waste their time on ultimately harmless shit when coercive sex reassignment (among other actual issues) is still a fucking thing. There are bigger issues at hand here, and the nonissue that transID people pose is not fucking important and never will be, because again it's a NONISSUE.
