Taken from the final night of my first self programmed #trainingblock. Here's the last set of 375x5x1, followed by 395x1 and then 405x1. I've pulled 400 for a triple and I've hit 410 for a single but I'd never pulled four plates before two nights ago. Good night...minus the late 90's Metallica being played. Remember kids: if it's not from the first four records, it sucks donkey sucks. Not the first five records, the first FOUR. Read that again so it sinks in. Last day of this LONG, nine week #trainingblock. Here's the last set of 375x5x1, followed by 395x1, followed by 405x1 for a new PR! I've pulled 499 for a triple and I've pulled 410 for a single but this is the first time I pulled four plates on the dot. I'm mostly satisfied with the way I programmed things. There are definitely some changes I'd like to make, but I'll discuss that in a few days. Road to Trans Alpine Run 2020 - Heute stand zum Ende des ersten 12- wöchigen Trainingblockes die 2. Leistungsdiagnostik bei ProAthletes in Köln an. Meine Zielsetzungen des ersten Blocks waren die Steigerung des Anteils der Fettverbrennung zur Energiebereitstellung, Steigerung der maximalen Sauerstoffaufnahme und Verschieben der anaeroben Schwelle. Ergebnis: Steigerung des Anteils der Fettverbrennung bei gleichem Tempo +400%, Steigerung der maximalen Sauerstoffaufnahme (VO2max) +16%, Verschiebung der Pace an der anaeroben Schwellen -21 sek.! The second to last night of this experimental #trainingblock. Remember something #personaltrainers, if you can't experiment on yourself, then how do you expect to successfully do so with potential clients? Anyway, this block culminated with my successfully hitting 152.5lbs, 95% of my 1RM, for 5x3, followed by my 1 RM of 160x2. I wanted to go for a triple, but my instincts told me to not even try it. I then decided to give 165 a whirl. I was a able to hit a single and, while I wanted to hit one more, my body told me otherwise. Live to fight another day. You can still train hard while still training smart.
