i have an episode idea in my head that involves six turning into an actual cat and peri has to deal with him, but she has a phobia of cats and/or hates them. yes he is huge hes a big kitty (and yes she is wearing fake cat ears, they are for cultural reasons of the cat-themed city/planet they are visiting)
#doctor who#classic doctor who#the sixth doctor#peri brown#classic who#first finished new art of 2024 technically#the city they're visiting is in a human colony and the mayor is obsessed with cats and had a bunch shipped over#so now the city is practically over run with stray cats#and sometimes he turns people into cats#and its like traditional to dress catlike on certain holidays or for a cat honoring festival going on#peri did not want to go here but six insisted

Sometimes, you do things and you do them not because you're thinking but because you're feeling. Because you're feeling too much. And you can't always control the things you do when you're feeling too much.

People from Vilanova i la Geltrú (Penedès, Catalonia) celebrating their city’s festa major (local festivity). Each town and city has their own festes majors, set on a different day depending on their patron saints. Festes majors are one of the biggest festivities among Catalan traditions, which are celebrated with traditional dance and music. Though there are festes majors throughout the year, most of them are in summer.

Second part, I guess? Not sure how to count these.
_
And here we finally have the other version with the better outcome of the school festival! (Because I think that it is better to end on a good result than vice versa).;)
_
As in the first scenario, Oz makes his rounds of the school festival to advertise, but this time is blindsided by the Interdimensional Prince, who proposes to him out of nowhere. Oz is feeling very uneasy about the situation. And it gets worse as more and more students look to them to find out what is going on. It's that moment when someone behind him grabs his arm and shouts a loud "That cutie is with me, so fuck off" at his unwanted admirer.
Without waiting long, Damien drags Oz through the crowd of onlookers and away from the pushy creep until they find a quieter corner on the school yard. All the way Damien curses to himself and only pauses when they stop. He glances over his shoulder at Oz and lets go of the smaller nerd's arm. Oz wasn't sure what to expect at this point. Had Damien helped him? Or was he in even more trouble now? His surprise grew when his temperamental classmate asked him: "You good?"
At first Oz thought he had misheard. Or that there must be some hidden threat behind this so simple sounding question. But… the Demon Prince, surprisingly, really looked like he was genuinely interested. "Yeah, I guess. Um… thanks?" "Eh, it's cool." Damien looked as chill as if he hadn't just helped him just now and had nothing to do with any of this. But Oz didn't miss the fact that the demon prince's yellow eyes kept wandering over his face and dress as if he was looking for something. The worried entity had already thought about leaving when Damien addressed him once again. "Listen. And don't think anything crappy because of it! But, I do have a request for you." Oh darn. He knew it! Of course there was a catch! Oz's body was already stiffening a little. Unsure what he should expect. "Soooo. Would you let me touch your hair?" Oz stared at the other with wide eyes. What? "I first thought it was a wig. Or hair extensions. But it is your natural hair, isn't it? And I was wondering how… " Did he understand correctly? Damien was just curious about his hair? Oz still blinked a little confused at this strange turn of events. "Oh fuck, it doesn't matter, just forget I said anythi-." "Okay. As long as it's just that." He could probably live with such a kind of request.
Damien's eyes lit up. First, he looked stunned and then downright thrilled. "Really? Okay, but no taking back allowed!" Oz swallowed, but nodded, suppressing the reflex to back away as Damien stepped toward him and reached out one of his hands with which the young demon lifted one of his long strands of hair curiously. "Feels different than I expected. Hmmm… " Oz could feel Damien's warm thumb stroking the strand of hair. Who would have expected that the biggest bully in their school, of all people, could take such an avid interest, studying his hair as if it were a scientific research paper. Well, Oz was already aware that his hair was a bit unusual. Just like the rest of his body. But that Damien would show interest in something like this? That was a… surprise. He noticed that some of his tension had eased again and he himself took the opportunity to watch Damien while the latter kept his gaze slightly lowered and mumbled some sentences to himself that were too quiet for Oz to understand.
"… would love to know how it would react if… or if I braided it like… " It took a good while until the devilish prince was satisfied. However… Oz didn't mind that much that the other had taken his time. Especially since Damien had been surprisingly careful. But when the cat-like eyes suddenly were fixed on his face and looked directly at him he almost jumped. "So you're into cross dressing?" Oz tilted his head a little. The question just sounded interested, not snarky or anything like that. Admittedly, Oz found this question difficult to answer. "Not necessarily. Today is just for our club and the school festival. I'm… not really sure how I feel about cross dressing." Strangely Damien frowned slightly at his answer. "I mean, how I feel about doing it myself. I think it's great when others can wear confidently what they are enjoying the most. But… I'm not quite sure how I feel about myself in this dress. It feels odd to me. I keep thinking that maybe it doesn't fit right, or that I look… "
"Or what? That you look stupid in a dress?" Oz winced slightly under the words. Damien was already turning his back towards him. Probably the demon had seen enough and wanted to find a new distraction. But before Damien left, Oz heard him say, "You don't. It looks good on you. But maybe you shouldn't walk around alone like that if you don't know how to keep annoying freaks at bay." Oz could only watch as the prince of hell stomped off, still busy processing the words of his classmate.
_
One year later.;)
"Looks good." "Thanks." "So you guys are doing your café thing again this year?" "Mmm." "And you're running all over the school again to advertise it?" "No, Vicky's handling the advertising this time. I think she's much better qualified for part than I am anyway." "And your job is… ?" "I'm taking over the cash register." "So I don't get a chance to be served by you if I'm in the mood for something sweet?" "Dames!" "Yes?" "… Maybe I make an exception if you really stop by."
Bonus:
Vicky calls from the background, "Guys, can you stop flirting please? We're about to open!"
"W-we're n-not flirting!" "Pffh, be thankful I'm not kidnapping him from you noobs to keep him for myself."
_
Just a picture of Damien lifting Oz up for fun.
_
And a little scene that took place during the clean-up on the evening of the festival.
"Your hair is still long?" asked Damien curiously when he finally found Oz in the storage room, where the little nerd was putting down a box. "I didn't have time to get it cut yet," Oz answered. "You could keep them that way," Damien suggested teasingly, earning a scolding look from his friend. "Oooor not." For a small moment, Damien remained silent. Not very long to be fair, though, before he asked: "What if I cut it for you?" His friend did turn to face him fully now, tilting his head askew and seeming to seriously consider the offer. "That…would be really nice of you," his friend admitted. Yes, it worked! "And would you let me test some stuff out first? I mean if we cut them short anyway… ", Damien asked with a gleam in his eye. After all, it would be a shame not to take this opportunity. "Okay, okay. I'll give you free hand. As long as I get my old hairstyle back in the end," the little nerd agreed with an amused smile in his eyes. Oh, this was going to be fun!
Bonus round:
Damien just couldn't pass up the chance to cross dress with Oz. Even though Damien is usually more into drag. But for a date, more comfortable clothes aren't too bad either.
In the end, Oz still prefers to wear pants. However, he does enjoy trying out different clothes together with Damien, even if it's something he wouldn't normally imagine wearing during his daily life. But to get dressed up together with Damien for one of their dates brings Oz plenty of happiness before the actual date even starts. Thanks to the demon prince, he also feels a little more confident when he wears something that is out of his usual comfort zone.
_
And that would be the end of the sketches about Oz's little cross dressing experience that I have for you. I hope you liked it.;)

After the first year experience they started to form a friendship.#And after a few months Damien asked Oz if he would like to be his boyfriend.#Oz said yes.#Congrats Damien!#So by the time of the second school festival they were already together.

One of the most essential aspects of this event is the use of the colour black, which is often considered unlucky to wear on fortunate occasions. I mean
Catalan and Occitan people in the Pireneus have a similar tradition, named Festa/feste de l'Os, but with brown bears rather than groundhogs
So. Yeah. Some other countries do something similar
do other countries have a groundhog day? do you all gather on February second and watch with bated breathe as a groundhog emerges from its hole? do you forecast the next six weeks of weather based on if the groundhog is frightened by its own shadow and returns to the hole?
#they don't actually go look at bears emerging from their den obv#but the tradition says if it's sunny on Feb 2nd the bear will go back hibernate for 40 more days & winter will keep going on#while if it's cloudy the bear stays outside and winter is ending#and there are festivities with people dressed as bears and as hunters and such

Embracing Gypsy Culture: A Halloween Costume Story
My employer has a Halloween costume contest this year, which has generated a buzz among various teammates, although I’m not quite sure if there will be any prizes for the winners. Despite the uncertainty, I have decided to join in the fun, even though I will be the only one from my area who dresses up. I primarily decided to join in for Ashley’s sake. I had initially thought that PA would be…
