Let's Fall In Love With Pink City - Jaipur

Jaipur, known as the Pink City, is the largest city in Rajasthan. It was founded in AD 1727 by Maharaja Sawai Jai Singh II and is renowned for being the first city to be planned by Vidhyadhar Bhattacharya. In 1876, when the Prince of Wales visited India, Maharaja Ram Singh of Jaipur painted the entire city pink, giving it a unique and vibrant appearance and a symbol of hospitality. In 2019, Jaipur, popularly known as the Pink City of India, was added to India's World Heritage Sites by the UNESCO World Heritage Committee. Additionally, the city is connected to two UNESCO World Heritage Sites - Amer Fort & Palace and Jantar Mantar Royal Observatory. Jaipur is among the best tourist places in India and South Asia, by many famous consortiums. my fursona, but doing the pose in the art style of the cover art for Patricia Taxxon’s Techdog 4 (art by TwistCMYK). but also in the outfit of the Numismatist from the short-ish film On The Third Day of an International Manhunt.

i associate the fifth track of Techdog 4 with the Numismatist’s quest for his missing coin and joy when he finds it… these two media are completely unconnected but they’re totally connected in my mind.

So I recently started up an art Instagram and I realized I never posted this or the other art piece I uploaded on my Tumblr. This is an art piece from school. The goal was to make a diptych about plants but I missed that memo and only made one art piece. The subject I chose was the magnolia, but I took some creative liberties with the leaves. The base colors were made using watercolor and the shading and highlights were made with color pencil. This piece is supposed to get hung up at the Lyndon House this fall so this isn’t the last time you’ll see this piece. If there was one thing I could go back and change about this piece, it would be to keep the magnolia white like it was in an older scan of this.

I feel like the white would’ve brought more ‘light’ to this piece and caught the eye better, but at least the final flower is eye-catching in its own way.
