#This piece murdered my green and purple color pencils QwQ

So I recently started up an art Instagram and I realized I never posted this or the other art piece I uploaded on my Tumblr. This is an art piece from school. The goal was to make a diptych about plants but I missed that memo and only made one art piece. The subject I chose was the magnolia, but I took some creative liberties with the leaves. The base colors were made using watercolor and the shading and highlights were made with color pencil. This piece is supposed to get hung up at the Lyndon House this fall so this isn’t the last time you’ll see this piece. If there was one thing I could go back and change about this piece, it would be to keep the magnolia white like it was in an older scan of this.

I feel like the white would’ve brought more ‘light’ to this piece and caught the eye better, but at least the final flower is eye-catching in its own way.
