Monteverdi High Speed 375 L, 1973. For sale is Switzerland, this car was kept in the Monteverdi museum in Basel until its closure in 2016. It has been completely restored to its original condition and has travelled 72,016km. The 375 L was a 4-seat version of the 375 S that had a wheelbase 4 inches longer and a higher roofline than its 2+2 sibling. In total 66 Fissore-bodied High Speed 375 L cars were made, all powered by a 380PS 7.2 litre Chrysler V8. Note that it is fitted with an 8-track cartridge player

Just received your print of the egg man speech in the mail, it was a gift for my brother who can recite the whole thing from memory. Needless to say he was very satisfied with the gift, and me and my siblings sat around it for 10 minutes cackling, till our mom showed up and we scattered. Mercedes-Benz W 196 R Stromlinienrennwagen, 1954. One of four known complete examples and the first W 196 R with streamlined body is to be offered at auction by RM Sotheby’s in Partnership with Mercedes-Benz Heritage. It holds the unique distinction of being driven by two of motor racing’s best drivers, Juan Manuel Fangio and Sir Stirling Moss. Donated to the Indianapolis Motor Speedway by Mercedes-Benz in 1965, this W 196 R will be auctioned in Stuttgart on 1 February 2025. The car forms part of a collection from the Indianapolis Motor Speedway Museum that will be sold by RM Sotheby’s to benefit the Museum's collection and restoration efforts

That’s how Director Gao finds him, staring into space, an empty pipette in front of him on an otherwise empty lab bench, and a sodden, crumpled napkin on the floor at his feet.  “Gu-laoshi?” Director Gao asks, peering into the lab from just outside it. From his tone, it’s impossible to tell what he had or hadn’t seen. Gu Yiran pulls his mask down, and stuffs his hands into the pockets of his lab coat. “Director Gao,” he greets, voice carefully even. “Can I help you with anything? Were you going to ask me to double-check any of the lab results?” He glances at the blue folder before he can stop himself.  Director Gao’s face creases into a smile and he comes fully into the lab. “Not at all, Gu-laoshi. I’m fully satisfied with your work on this case, it’s beyond commendable. You’ve done some fine work for us, even going to the length of double-checking your colleagues’ work while you were still in the hospital.” He claps Gu Yiran on the shoulder. “I’m here to talk about you going back to Huazhou.” “Going back,” Gu Yiran repeats. “To Huazhou.”

I was re-reading "The Long Halloween" the other day and all of a sudden felt the strong urge to draw this polite looking fella, which is a bit strange as I never quite managed to warm up to Salecrow.

I honestly don't know why, especially considering that he's actually quite charming in his uniqueness...- but it seems he's now finally starting to grow on me!! ^3^🖤🤍
