The hobbits (and eventually also Aragorn) definitely drive to Rivendell in Merry's minivan--I have not picked a model yet, but something very Practical--but after that the Fellowship obviously need a larger vehicle and I think the answer is a pre-2007 Ford Expedition (models after that only have 8 seats instead of 9)

Also Frodo hotwires a Kia Soul (probably) to get himself and Sam to Mordor after the Fellowship falls apart. (Bilbo taught him how) but I haven't made up my mind yet what Gandalf shows up in when he returns so I need all your input. I am considering making Shadowfax a 2007ish Toyota Highlander because my family bought one of those when I was maybe 10 years old and the thing still fucking runs, which I feel like is the right energy for the King of Vehicles, but I don't know if it's the funniest answer.

Other candidates: An equally old (or older) Honda Accord because they have the same sort of energy, something else known for being very fast or indestructible (a Toyota Hilux would be great except I'm setting the AU in the US and you can't get those here), or a car that's just funny to imagine a wizard in. Please give me your thoughts.

Awkward road trip between Xisuma and Etho

They're in Xisuma's shitty old truck, gear in the bed and rooftop tent set up over it

It's not that they're not friends or get along, but it's definitely an experience to sit couped up in a small cab with someone for extended periods of time

They're driving to go visit Ren and a few more of their mutual friends, it's cheaper (albeit slower) to carpool like this instead of flying

There's definitely hints of something going on between them but they've never actually talked about it

Etho is having fun trying to navigate and sightsee, forced to sit shotgun the entire time because he never learned stick and isn't about to now

Xisuma's just happy that Etho hasn't gotten car sick yet, that and it's nice being able to spend time together even if a road trip isn't horribly exciting

The last night before they get to Ren's, they set up the tent in a national park type thing a couple hours away

The stars have never been brighter

It's nice quietly talking about everything and nothing at the same time, to hear the soft chirping from crickets the crackling of a fire

It's colder than expected that night but Etho has already accepted his fate as Xisuma's personal heater

i feel so sad that mina hakuba is such a nothingburger character in castlevania canon when she has the potential to be so much more.

konami you can just casually drop that mina has connections to a belmont, a belnades witch AND alucard prior to aria of sorrow and not say anything about that???? she comes from a family of powerful exorcists! her (presumed) grandpa sealed dracula inside a solar eclipse!! she has all the cards to be such an interesting and compelling character, but she’s just swept under the rug

and despite her the cviii legacy characters, the only relationship that is given any sort of depth is her relationship with soma. and all she does there is help soma beat the homo allegations and be another “reincarnation” of lisa

i wanna see more interactions between mina and yoko since they have a close, sister-like bond! also mina’s one of the only characters that kinda sorta figures out arikado’s identity without being told about it!! surely she must be friends, or at least acquaintances with him

mina’s such an underrated character that deserves so much more than konami ever gave her
