Indeed.
it needs to be said by youtubers with common sense sometimes, to make people wake up again. Because it keeps happening.

I don't like gingerphobic people, and it's too much
I've seen too much Maddie hate in this community. I am sick of these people who posted about disliking her in the comments or post. Members in this community, please DM me if you want to talk about her. I'm so tired looking at these; I need real help, please.

I must write it…
months ago, around September, I was publishing the chapters of an old Fanfic. I personally asked for criticism, but constructive, and instead in the reviews I found this:
This is one of the average comments, which appeared in the reviews of the last two chapters I published. It says that the Fanfic is ugly and that it is not creative. Which is not false, because it was a rewrite of TWDG, made without too much effort, as a hobby. started from a revisitation of episode 3 and then, in the following chapters, which I never published, I would detach myself, creating a more creative plot. I have, however, challenged this type of comment, not for the criticism itself, but for the attitude. These guys did not write reviews, but actually spit flames, without saying anything, because apart from writing that sucks and is little creative my plot, otherwise they said nothing that could be useful to me to improve.
of course, I challenged this attitude by some users, very aggressive, derogatory and not at all critical of me, here on Tumblr. There are still the two old posts for those who want to read them. Within a few days it happened that, some users here on Tumblr, they started talking bad about me, behind my back:
According to them, I would be immature, I could not accept criticism, that is my Fanfic is uncreative and sucks. So I should, according to them, accept as criticism of comments and denigrating empty as true criticism, because they actually say nothing constructive. It is clear, that Fanfic was problematic, but the aggressive comments they wrote in the reviews section of Fanfiction.net, are not justifiable with the baseness qualitative of the Fanfic itself.
Here after months I publish my new Fanfic Mariù, it’s written better than the previous one, it’s always set in the universe TWDG, but on reddit happens this:
Since I didn’t set it in Georgia or Richmond, with characters like Lee, Kenny, Clem, Carley, Lilly, Louis, Violet, etc…. then the Reddit mods have deleted my post. Attention, the people in the reddit community, from the average user to the content creator to the moderator, are the same people you find on Tumblr and on Fanfiction.net. They are always the people in the community.
I obviously do the Fanfic for fun, for my pleasure, not to please others, but I start to be confused. At this point the question arises, what do you want from a Fanfiction? let’s leave the quality alone, I talk about the content. If it is uncreative you cry like children, because I rewrite the plot and you want something original obsessively. If it is creative, set in the universe of TWD and TWDG, but it is set in a place outside the USA, with original characters, it is not good because there is no correlation with TWDG or TWD. So what do you want? please tell me, because as far as people in the Fanfic sphere are concerned, you are toxic and a bit ridiculous as attitude.
Between September and October, you threw mud at me for my lack of creativity and now that I’m creative, it’s not good. I am sincerely confused and perplexed. Now, am I the immature, intolerant to criticism, or is it the Fanfic Community that is toxic?
Tumblr users comment, express your opinion.

It amazes me how much Zoro fans are willing to defend Zoro’s “6-month long” fight with Lucci. Whereas when it comes to Usopp’s “10 years of uselessness” they’re just quick to not consider that not much time has actually passed in the OP world. So, I guess Zoro’s given more grace since he’s the second main character of One Piece. And the “not much time has passed in the OP world” reasoning is only justifiable when it comes to him.
Got it.
#zoro fans and power scalers couldn’t handle the scrutiny and trolls#meanwhile Usopp fans experience this on a regular basis#I don’t dislike zoro but again#as I’ve said in previous posts#the fandom loves to alienate him from the rest#this doesn’t apply to every zoro fan#I’ve been on Reddit and YouTube a lot so…#the hypocrisy is real#Usopp#one piece#manga#anime#zoro vs Lucci#Dressrosa#zoro v Lucci#egghead arc#zoro#roronoa zoro#sniper king#usopp one piece#op usopp#usopp op#one piece fandom#toxic community#wesleysniperking

FROM NICHE TO MAINSTREAM ENTERTAINMENT: SHOULD VIRTUAL SPACES HAVE FANDOM ETIQUETTE?
For those unfamiliar with fandoms, these are online communities where people come together to enthusiastically discuss about their favorite media franchises. Nowadays, some have expressed complete dismay over the lack of etiquette wherein anyone can be toxic without having to deal with the consequences or better yet engage in respectful discourse. Thus, netizens should apply what is considered as “Fandom Etiquette” on any social media platform whenever we consume any form of entertainment.
The thing is…there has already been untold Fandom Etiquette or Three Laws of Fandom that can be applied in multiple fandom spaces in which the latter is a meta essay made by user “Ozhawkauthor” from Tumblr. The Fandom Etiquette post talks about how to handle fanart, fanfiction and fandom in general on how to behave yourselves in those spaces such as “if you want more of it, support it”, which can be applied to both fanart and fanfiction. Meanwhile, the Three Laws of Fandom are self-explanatory, mainly on the first and third rule: “Don’t Like, Don’t Read” and “Ship and Let Ship” which tackle on ignoring the content you don’t like and just ignore the romantic pairing that you dislike as well and leave those who like it. However, not many people seem to get this idea of a proper etiquette when all the rise of toxicity and Cancel Culture became rampant which can affect multiple content creators, artists, and writers in those fandom spaces to the point they’ll consider quitting or transfer to other fandoms to stay away from the hate they’re receiving. This mainly applies to TikTok and Twitter because these two social media apps are popular to engage in those spaces, and the toxic side of those fandoms happen to be the loudest ones, which can lead to conflicts in public discourse, wondering who exactly is in the right. Recently, TikTok user “_Das_Hazel_” talked about how it is starting to affect a popular fanfiction site called “Archive of Our Own” where users are debating if they should have a dislike button, or better yet make a new archive for unproblematic works of fanfiction and it already has a name called “The Protectorate Archive” and they have a list on themes that shouldn’t be in fanfiction and emphasize on the word “Normalize” to combat problematic works, which has lead to another debate on what makes the contents deemed “problematic”. Matter of fact, what is the reason why fandoms have become more toxic and problematic in this modern age? While TikTok can be a cesspool of toxicity according to others, users who engage in those fandom spaces have pointed out and agree that it all started during the pandemic, where people have nothing else better to do and have never experienced fandoms before in general getting into those spaces. According to TikTok user “Msaleshadiva”, half of those people find it to be cool since it is a community to discuss their favorite franchise or form of entertainment while others openly discuss it in a derogatory manner, even confused why those who engage in these spaces are being weird and tackling topics like it’s the norm on the internet, hence getting called a “Weird Kid” to begin with. Thus, the toxicity has become increasingly clear and more people in those spaces begin hating each other whether they’re a content creator or a fan in a certain fandom. In the end, based on strong evidence, there has to be proper fandom etiquette in engaging with others on various online spaces not only for the modern age but for future users as well. This should apply to multiple, if not all fandoms. Let there be encouragement among those in the community when it comes to fan creation for a certain franchise rather than spreading hateful comments and creating unsolicited criticisms. If you dislike what you are seeing, all you simply have to do is to block the user and scroll away, this actually helps and people on Twitter began advising others to do this if you don’t like to engage in the content you’re seeing. It is just as simple as that and you can apply that principle in multiple forms of media, you don’t have to force yourself to engage in it, and sometimes if you want to say something that is not nice, say nothing and move on, that way both parties can go on and continue doing what they love.

don't be in fandoms for more than a year.
they'll do everything after that time, to chase you away, especially if you're an artist. even if you never hurt people. even if you tried to appreciate people.

Minecraft Community: *Bullies and stalks devs, says Mojang devs are worthless while spending $15 a month on a mod that's super tiny and has stolen assets, bitching and not shutting up about the Minecraft movie, posts/thinks a shit ton of negative stuff about Minecraft, promotes being toxic as a good thing, is always negative*.
Me: You do know being toxic is not gonna fix Minecraft or it's movie, can't you guys at least think positive things for... Like maybe a month or so?-
Minecraft Community: SHUT UP YOU FUCKING RETARD!! WE'RE MINECRAFT FANS, WE'RE ARE NOT ALLOWED TO THINK POSITIVE THINGS ABOUT MINECRAFT!! AND IF YOU THINK THE MINECRAFT MOVIE IS NOT REALLY THAT BAD, YOU'RE RETARDED, ONE TRAILER IS ENOUGH, HATE IT, HATE IT!! HAAAAATE IIIIIIITT!!!

"stop drawing the ship so you won't receive threats" is the WORST advice one could ever get, here's why. (i got it recently and i laughed)
they'll find something else.
THEY are playing dictators by telling what you can and can't do on your own page. they're threatening you. they're toxic abusers, while you're making art.
worst thing you, dear threatened reader can do, is allow them to do any of that. DON'T. don't allow them, because who the fuck are they?
nobodies. fuck them. make art.

The way people hate the movie because it’s “queerbait” and the actors aren’t part of the “lgbt+” community” so sorry… SO SORRY PEOPLE HAVE TO COME OUT TO BE IN A GAY MOVIE!! pretty sure you can’t ask people, pretty sure no wants to share their sexuality to be part of a movie that’s so good. Sorry we don’t get movies are shows like this often?!!
Guess people still haven’t learned from the kit Connor situation.
THE LGBT+ community is literally so toxic sometimes

I just want to rant a bit. I am SO SICK OF THOSE STUPID INSTAGRAM COMMENTS. Are you so bored with your life, you comment on someone’s cosplay from a show and say: “No one watches that stupid stuff”!? Other comments on that post also made me lose brain cells, like someone saying: “This is going on my su###de note”, because the costume looked a little weird. You don’t have to like it, but don’t shove it in other people’s faces. I don’t watch or like Miraculous Ladybug, but I don’t scream about it at fans.
I’m so sorry, I know those people don’t deserve attention, but it’s never this bad on other social media platforms, that I know of at least.
