Day 11 is Tourahn. Went with scene/emo fashion for this one which was everywhere during the 2000s (I promise I’ll get back to the other decades fashion after this). I funny enough had some clothes like this growing up.

Finally getting back to drawing after not touching it for over a month. Sometimes that happens, I know a lot of artists fret about missing out on drawing this or that but I find that’s just not me. I don’t draw for an audience, I draw because I enjoy it and that’s perfectly fine. I’ve seen way too many people get upset that they’ll lose progress or that if they don’t do something productive daily that they’re a failure. Artists tend to be their own worst enemy sometimes, like sure it’s good to be harsh on yourself but there comes a point where you’re too harsh and you skip over what’s “fair” because let’s be real here - you’re still human and you still need to take care of yourself. Thinking you’re going to have machine precision in everything you do is silly. Personally I’m glad that my art is a casual thing, a lot of people ask me why it’s not my career. The answer is simple, for me if I made it my source of stress it would cease to be fun for me - I probably wouldn’t want to draw a whole lot at all if I had to rely on it for income. Plus the lack of job security is the other thing, I don’t want to be a “starving artist”. What I make is a niche thing because it’s made with exactly what I like in mind and nobody else, but that also means that I’m probably going to have a “cult following” - small but very dedicated. Either way, I’m happy with my hobbies even if it means I focus on other things in my spare time. Lately it’s been writing more of #DIVE - I finally reached the third arc of the story. I can’t wait to turn this into a webcomic so people can see what I see in my head. It’s going to be a wild ride. Happy drawing folks 💫 #Arc3 #wip #workinprogress #drawing #lineart #digitalart #fantasy #demon #demyra #Tourahn #Tarina #innerthoughts #artistproblems #surprise #hobby https://www.instagram.com/p/CEErQGmBjYJ/?igshid=3fkebszdqyx2

I almost forgot to post these but here's the expression sheets for both Toki and Tourahn. I think I'll have a lot of fun coming up with some of the more wild expressions these two are going to have for the more gritty scenes. That concludes the bulk of the main characters for DIVE for the expression sheets.
There's a few things I'm hoping to get sketched up within the next little while...

I was a lot of fun coming up with what sport everyone would participate in, I really wanted to think about where everyone came from and what they’d personally enjoy based on their personalities too. It was a great way to kill time since my city got shut down over a major snow storm, I had to do something while being stuck in the house.
Top to bottom: Anna, Cornelious, Hiru, Itoku, Mirroh, Mona, Schoukannaderou, Sirah, Toki, and Tourahn.

I’m late posting these here, but this is what I whipped up to celebrate the holiday season and the start of a new decade. It’s hard to believe that 10 years has flown by so quickly!
Cheers to another!

Here’s another glance at my process for a piece. I never did get around to fully colouring this one, but I do enjoy how cute Toki and Tourahn turned out, I will gladly admit I love the hell outta these guys (I’m not telling anybody what happens to them though, you’ll have to read DIVE to find out... well when I finish the chapter covers and get the remainder of it posted for arc 1 at the least).

DIVE ARC 1: Chapter 7 - Indication
Chapter 7: Indication
Isontaro placed his head in his hands as he grumbled to himself after finishing a days worth of paperwork. He had searched for Verto for nearly a month and there wasn't any sign of him. After sending a group of two dozen Demyra to scourge Teteoria for the young man he had to face it that there wasn't any way he'd find him after this amount of time had passed. There was nothing he could do. He could've gone anywhere. Anywhere at all but Isontaro was certain that someone would've been able to pick up his trace especially since he knew Verto to be clumsy with covering his tracks. Baffled he slumped back into his chair flustered.
“Nifrha!” He slammed two fists onto the desk splintering the wood in a momentary relapse of sanity. How could one run of the mill man hide so well from him? Unless he was dead, which Isontaro hoped not but it wasn't out of the realm of possibilities. There was only one thing he could do, look for him himself which was he wasn't fond of but maybe he'd have better luck.
Before he rose from his chair Robina slipped into the room. She was about to say something when she noticed the state of the desk from Isontaro's small fit. He pulled himself together in a huff as she stood silently. “I'm sorry, I've just been under a lot of stress lately...” Isontaro confirmed as he circled round the edge of the desk taking a quick glance on the disrupted surface.
“I know, I should be the one apologizing for setting you up to such a crazy task in the first place. I didn't think Verto would be that hard to find.” She admitted folding her hands into her robes feeling a chill run down her body.
He shook his head. “I didn't either but I guess we were both wrong.”
Robina placed her hand upon his shoulder gently. “You're probably going to go looking for him aren't you?” Her sights pinned onto him.
He sighed. “That's the idea.”
“I was hoping you were going to say no, but...”
“Worried?”
“A little. There's been rumour of an illness spreading in Teteoria...”
“Hmm.” He solemnly adverted his eyes from hers.
She embraced Isontaro feeling frosty as night had well set in by this time. “When do you plan on leaving?”
He returned her affection as his two arms found themselves effortlessly wrapping around her as she shivered. “As soon as I can. I cannot afford to waste any more time, for now you'll be in charge when I'm gone okay?” He murmured into her ear. She stiffened straight.
“Me?”
“Yes, if you need any help please ask Savaeria or Therrian. They should be able to point you in the right direction.”
“O-Okay.” She stammered.
“You'll be fine. Trust me.” He kissed her softly before pulling away.
Robina returned her hands into the warmth of her robes. Giving a weak smile she watched Isontaro open the portal to Teteoria. “Alright, but come back in one piece.”
He winked. “No worries, I will. Love you Robina.”
“Love you too Isontaro.” She waved with the smile growing on her face. He blew her a kiss as he stepped through. Within an instant the portal closed leaving the room silent once again. How lonely it felt without Isontaro there but she assured herself that he wouldn't be long. She'd have to be patient, he'd be back within a few days.
Leaving the room she came face to face with Cornelious. “Oh, you're still up?”
“I am, I was wondering if Isontaro was around. I had something else that I had to ask him...” He replied with a hint of a nervous tone. Cornelious hated to bother the man but there were too many things left unanswered.
She paused. “What was it you needed to ask? Was it important?”
“Why?”
“Because Isontaro just left for Teteoria so he won't be back for at least a few days.” Robina informed him. She could see the ounce of discomfort the information brought him as his face tensed. He swallowed.
“It can wait then.” He shook his head.
“Are you sure?” Robina raised her brow wondering if he would ultimately take that as an answer.
“Positive.”
She chuckled deviously. “Are you sure you're sure?”
“Okay, maybe not, but I'm not exactly going to follow blindly after him.” He huffed.
“That's probably for the best.” Robina gave him a quick nod before she headed up the stairs on the left. He stood watching her with his mouth agape. What just happened?
Tucking his hands into the deep pockets in the long white coat he lost himself in thought. Cornelious had been more than aware of the stress Isontaro had gone through trying to find Verto and figured that he'd go and try to find him himself. There wasn't anything that stopped Isontaro once he got everything rolling. Only time would tell whether Verto would be found or no.
It would make for one long trip if Isontaro didn't.
Isontaro had spent nearly two days within Teteoria trying to pick up the faint flicker of Verto's power signature. He thought he had caught a hint of it when he first arrived but it had since faded. Desperately he scoured several areas trying to find it again. As he decided to take a break he noticed one thing, he had not felt so rejuvenated in nearly a lifetime. There was something about Teteoria that was off. He had a hunch but hoped he was wrong.
In the distance was a strip of bright blue illuminating the crimson sky as the sun crept behind the hills. That was his destination as he strode across the grassy savanna. He thought he felt another minuet flicker of Verto from beyond the miasma gate. Picking up pace he dashed for it.
Transpiring through the gate feeling the tingle of what felt like ice grace his skin as both Itoku and Koro came into view. Ice caked in their hair as snow swirled across the forgotten city. Catching up to the two Itoku shivered ferociously.
Isontaro laughed. “Cold?”
He shot him a dirty look “Y-Y-Yes. V-Very.” Koro shrugged not minding the cold. He had been smart and packed his heavier set of robes.
Isontaro took off his armoured jacket with its soft wool liner and offered it to Itoku. “Here, I'm sure you'll need it with all things considered.” Grumbling and cursing he took it off of his hands slipping it on leaving Isontaro in only his short sleeved dress shirt.
“Not cold I take it?” Koro chirped.
“No. It doesn't bother me, ice is one of my main elements after all so why would it?” Isontaro casually admitted.
“I didn't realize it was. Hmm.”
“So what are the two of you here for?”
“The Ifalyn.” Itoku chimed rubbing his arms trying to get warm.
Isontaro halted in his tracks. “The Ifalyn?” His hunch nearly affirmed by that instance.
Itoku turned back towards him, his face grim. “Princess Sirah asked for our assistance, she had told me that she had sent a group of her people out here to investigate some sort of illness. Sirah had a hunch that it could possibly be the Ifalyn weakening since every one of the people she had sent are now dead. Why would a group of her top people all perish within such a small time frame?” Itoku tucked his hands into the jacket's pockets shuddering at the thought of what they might find.
Koro turned to find the two men stopped. Isontaro silent in thought running the possibilities through his head. Everything had started to fall into place but neither of the three were sure as to the cause only that princess Sirah might've been right.
“Hey! We need to keep moving!” Koro called as he turned back to the dirt road and continued down the slope.
Itoku and Isontaro snapped out of their trance and trailed behind Koro by a good twenty feet. Small chatter was made between the two over other matters as the two suns dragged down beyond the horizon. The night drew into a bitter frost as they trudged on through the fragment of the realm. Isontaro knew it would be another day or two before he'd see the miasma gate.
Having travelled across the frozen wasteland for the better portion of two days Koro plopped himself onto a nearby rock. He slouched forward tired. “I'm hungry.” He groaned.
“Did you bring anything?” Isontaro inquired.
“I did but it's not enough for the three of us and certainly isn't enough to keep any one of us going.”
“Okay, we'll just have to hunt something. No problem.”
Itoku propped himself next to his brother. “And where do you see anything that could possibly be called food?” Itoku snorted. Isontaro scoffed at his lack of faith.
“Give me an hour and I'll come back with something.” He assured.
“Alright. Fine, I doubt it but go ahead.”
“Psht.” Isontaro shook his head and left the two in search for something. He might've been absent from Teteoria for quite some time but he did know the layout of the realm fairly well.
He was certain that he'd find a heard mirla around somewhere. They were odd four-legged creatures with two sets of antlers that were found in the colder parts of Teteoria. Almost resembling deer they would prance about in the snow munching on several species of winter berries and shrubs that grew in abundance.
It wasn't long before he came across the strange creatures that were easily twice the size of him frolicking in the thicket. Swiftly he conjured a massive blade of ice near one of them. Lopping off the mirla's head the others around it scrambled back into the forest. Isontaro made his way over looking at the mess he made. Shrugging off the thought he heaved the mighty beast over his shoulders.
Itoku had slumped into his brother in a heavy slumber. Koro had passed out long before Itoku did and was folded over nearly head first into the snow. Both were startled by Isontaro dropping the mirla in front of them. The two men were spooked by the sight of Isontaro and his catch. His stern face spoke more than it needed to.
“Start a fire. My job is done.” He commanded as he went and curled up in the snow for a quick cat nap. Itoku scrambled to his feet as Koro sat in a daze of what just happened.
“You're not going to carve this thing? Remove the innards?” Itoku protested.
“Nope. You two can do it.” Isontaro rolled over ignoring them.
He awoke nearly three hours later to the smell of freshly cooked meat. Koro and Itoku sat around the smouldering fire pit with a leg in each hand. The carcass still held captive over the fire. The deep cream coloured hide of the beast was stretched between two sticks several feet away.
Sitting up disturbing the fresh blanket of snow Isontaro brushed himself off planning to partake in the meal. Itoku and Koro sat ignoring Isontaro for the time being with their preoccupation of the food in their hands as he carved off a piece digging his claws into the flesh of the beast. Quietly the three ate until they couldn't take another morsel before stumbling into the dark. Itoku had the tanned hide draped over his shoulders more than glad for the warm pelt.
It would be another week before they'd reach their destination. Isontaro was certain at that point that Verto must've been alive as another flicker of his power signature rang out over Teteoria's broken face. As soon as it lit up his radar, it was gone without a trace. He hadn't the clue of how Verto managed to flicker by as if he had transcended the plain of existence into the dark.
Gazing over the resting place of the Ifalyn, Isontaro came face to face with the high walled temple encasing Teteoria's heart within. He paused soaking in the sight of the weathered runes carved across the white stone he felt a dread overcome him. Itoku shifted uncomfortably in Isontaro's jacket and the animal pelt as Koro was the first to approach. Step by step he made his way up slowly to the entrance past the pillars that towered over the cracked floors. Begrudgingly Isontaro and Itoku followed suit.
Once inside the temple Isontaro had helped Koro push open the heavy wooden double doors to the inner sanctum. Itoku walked in first laying eyes upon the crystals encrusted into the stone walls. Isontaro and Koro nearly bumped into him as he came to a sudden stop.
“About time you arrived.” There across the room sat a figure with their arms crossed on top of the carved stone seal that kept the Ifalyn in place. Thousands of paper talismans plastered across the giant stone escaping onto the surrounding tiles that sat beneath.
“T-Tourahn. What are you doing here?!” Isontaro demanded.
Tourahn calmly hopped down from his place, the long straight locks of deep sky coloured hair tumbling over his shoulders. “Keeping the Ifalyn in one piece for now.” He said bluntly. There was something alluring, almost ethereal about his presence as Isontaro knew fully well that if given the chance, he'd surely kill him yet here he stood unprompted and undeterred. Not even phased by his presence.
Isontaro tensed. “How long do you think it'll last?”
He shrugged. “Don't know, could be a year, could be a century. Only time will tell.” His fierce orange eyes keeping themselves pinned onto Isontaro's tense face. It had been far too long since he had seen the pupil-less orbs within the face of the man that was practically a spitting image of himself.
“Surely if you're here then you must know what has tampered with the Ifalyn.” Koro stepped forth past Isontaro. A boldness had swept over him but quickly faded as Tourahn came nearly face to face with him, even with being over two feet taller than the navy coloured man he felt a shot of terror drop into the pit of his stomach. He felt cold glancing upon the outline of the scars that trailed up his hands, over his forearms and eventually across his chest. Koro had thought silently that he was the strangest Demyra that he had ever seen with his flesh fading from a deep sea blue to a nearly ghost white down through his face and his core. Nearly every vein he could trace across the paleness.
Amused he smirked. “I have a hunch.” He turned to Isontaro. “I think it might have to do with that man you're looking for. What was his name? Verto?”
“You know where he is?”
“Not exactly, but if I find him he's dead.”
“Why?”
Tourahn grabbed Isontaro by the chin and stared him square in the face. “Because he's part of the blame for this calamity. I can't have him screwing anything else up.” He released his grip. Isontaro shook the feeling out of his head, even if he wanted to he wouldn't be able to lay as much as a scratch on Tourahn. His power was taking far too long to return.
“He's my problem, I'll take care of him.” Isontaro confirmed. Both Koro and Itoku looked upon him apprehensively, would he really do that?
Tourahn chuckled. “You better because if he gets in my way I won't hesitate. I will kill him and I won't be nice about it.” Nonchalantly he turned to return to his spot on top of the slab. Isontaro swallowed, he knew very well that Tourahn didn't joke about such threats.
In a hushed voice he ushered the other two out of the temple making sure to close the doors behind them. The fresh image of Tourahn and the brilliant white markings on his face burned into his mind. As far as he knew he was the only one with them. There was something unsettling about it that unnerved him in his lesser state. Isontaro prayed that he'd be able to regain his power before Tourahn figured out Talimyn had been reincarnated back into the world.
He had agreed with himself that returning home would be the best decision for now. Itoku and Koro agreed to join him, they had some questions to ask Robina before they met back up with princess Sirah.

I drew this a while ago when Arby’s came out with their ‘Meat Mountain’ sandwich so knowing me I had to draw something funny for it. I’d love to do more sketches of silly stuff like this, it’s a lot of fun to make these little side comics.

A small follow up comic for my pride picture since it flew entirely under the radar. It’s once again the artist curse of a picture you spend a long time on and out in some good effort gets no love compared to a crappy sketch or other low effort pieces.
I’m not too mad getting to finish my isolation drawing this. I absolutely love the dynamic between Itoku and Tourahn. Their personalities clash pretty well on occasion, but it adds a nice helping of spice to the story. I enjoy having fun creating characters that aren’t all the same.

Happy pride month to everyone!🏳️‍🌈🏳️‍🌈🏳️‍🌈
For this year’s piece I decided to go with Itoku and Tourahn. I did up two cute girls so I wanted to change it up and do two guys instead.
Canonically Itoku isn’t queer, I picture him being the type the might experiment under certain circumstances but he’s definitely not digging any guys anytime soon. He’s your classic lady killer. Tourahn on the other hand (like some of the other main characters) swings both ways, it makes for some very fun interactions throughout the story.
Personally I like leaving people’s sexualities ambiguous and let the readers imagination run wild. It’s fun to just experiment and have a little bit on fanfare for folks, after DIVE is a fantasy story and anything goes - I did make it with what I wanted in mind.
Either way I’m super pleased with how this turned out (it’s a fantastic example of what my full colour pieces look like). I might draw more along this vein within the nearby future.

Tourahn is one character that also hasn’t changed much design wise. I’ve really refined him over the years and I’ve tweaked his character arc along with it. He started as more of an antagonistic character but I think with the changes I’ve made I think people will enjoy his progression arc.
The outfit you see him in is actually Isontaro’s, but I’m not going to spoil why he’s wearing it for anyone who’s along for the journey. The sword he obtains in the third arc (I had a lot of fun writing that chapter).
Tumblr media
Physique wise he’s one of the more unique looking characters due to his curse. The fade effect is only see on a couple of other characters. I kept his design fairly similar to Isontaro (considering they’re two halves of the same soul albeit both men change over time and become somewhat different people). Tourahn is slightly taller but his overall build is the same save for a couple of small stylistic choices (his face being the biggest difference).
Tumblr media
He undergoes a couple of trials and tribulations during the second arc that makes the deep hue of his skin recede like the above. I’m undecided if I want to keep it spite the events of the third arc, I might - I really like both but I’m sure I’ll make a finalized decision once I get to that portion of the story (It’ll be a while before I get there).
Overall Tourahn is pretty solid, being one of the main characters within DIVE I can’t see myself making further changes. I’m quite happy with how he is currently.

Here’s some of my favourite entries I did for the Artober/Inktober art challenge this year. I’m happy to say I finished it this year without any problems.
I’ll definitely be doing it again next year, not sure if I want to do it in colour or if I want to go and do it in just ink instead of adding any marker. I’ll have to decide that when the time comes. I think I’ll definitely be doing my own prompt again instead of going with the pre set one that other people make.
I’ve got any idea already of what I want to already so all I need to do is wait for next October.
Cheers!

I had a bout of drawing a lot of little sketches, some of the ideas that I had for the 2nd or even 3rd arc of DIVE. I love showcasing the contrasting colours of the characters I have (I swear it’s partly why I decided to have a story that doesn’t focus on some sort of human-like species). It’s fun to go ham with the colours, I do love the big, bold, and bright.
These were all drawn within the span of a few weeks so please excuse the fact I put ‘18′ for the year on the middle one. I must’ve been asleep. Either way, enjoy.
