Today we celebrate our Venerable Father Leo the Great, Pope of Rome. According to some, this Saint was born in Rome, but according to others in Tyrrenia (Tuscany), and was consecrated to the archiepiscopal throne of Rome in 440. In 448, when Saint Flavian, Archbishop of Constantinople, summoned Eutyches, an archimandrite in Constantinople, to give account for his teaching that there was only one nature in Christ after the Incarnation, Eutyches appealed to Saint Leo in Rome. After Saint Leo had carefully examined Eutyches's teachings, he wrote an epistle to Saint Flavian, setting forth the Orthodox teaching of the person of Christ, and His two natures, and also counseling Flavian that, should Eutyches sincerely repent of his error, he should be received back with all good will. At the Council held in Ephesus in 449, which was presided over by Dioscorus, Patriarch of Alexandria (and which Saint Leo, in a letter to the holy Empress Pulcheria in 451, was the first to call "The Robber Council"), Dioscorus, having military might behind him, did not allow Saint Leo's epistle to Flavian to be read, although repeatedly asked to do so; even before the Robber Council was held, Dioscorus had uncanonically received the unrepentant Eutyches back into communion. Because Saint Leo had many cares in Rome owing to the wars of Attila the Hun and other barbarians, in 451 he sent four delegates to the Fourth Ecumenical Council, where 630 Fathers gathered in Chalcedon during the reign of Marcian, to condemn the teachings of Eutyches and those who supported him. Saint Leo's epistle to Flavian was read at the Fourth Council, and was confirmed by the Holy Fathers as the Orthodox teaching on the incarnate person of our Lord; it is also called the "Tome of Leo." The Saint wrote many works in Latin; he reposed in 461. May he intercede for us always + Source: https://www.goarch.org/chapel/saints?contentid=433 (at Rome, Italy) https://www.instagram.com/p/CoxiwgLr5u3/?igshid=NGJjMDIxMWI=

DIVE ARC 1: Chapter 6 - Alliance
Chapter 6: Alliance
With his hands folded behind his back Itoku peered out into the raging storm. Heavy snow caked into the corners of the high arched windows as the wind roared against the panes. The oak door on the far side of the room creaked open followed by the sound of heels clacking against the cold stone floor. Hearing the sound of the door closing again he continued to watch the tempest.
A pair of gloved hands placed themselves onto the ledge as a young white skinned woman approached. Itoku turned to acknowledge her. ā€œPrincess Sirah.ā€ She nodded.
ā€œItoku.ā€ Her soft lilac eyes glanced onto his facial features seemingly looking for something.
ā€œI assume you've called me here for something important especially at this hour.ā€ Soaking in the sight of her oval flat face and her deep violet ringlets he knew that there was something that the princess wanted. He could see it plain as day in her expression, there was something she had hesitated to mention before this meeting.
She swallowed knowing that he could read her like a book, something that she wasn't particularly fond of but knew how to put up with. ā€œYes, I'm sorry for pulling you from your slumber but there's something I needed from you that's... time sensitive.ā€
He cocked his head. ā€œTime sensitive? What possibly could be so dire that your adviser pulls me from my slumber at nearly three in the morning?ā€ Itoku scowled. Perhaps she had forgotten about the time differences between Tyrrenia and the 9th dimension? He wasn't sure.
Turning front on to the man she scrunched her hands in her lap wrinkling the long coat aware that he wouldn't appreciate her intentions. Not backing down from him she took a deep breath. ā€œTeteoria.ā€
ā€œTeteoria? What does Teteoria have to do with me?ā€ Itoku snorted.
ā€œEverything. You're one of the few people I can send to go and investigate.ā€ Sirah confirmed.
Itoku pulled a cigar out of his jacket hesitantly. ā€œInvestigate? Investigate what princess?ā€ His crimson eyes narrowed upon the young woman.
She eyed the small flame that seemed to have lit by its lonesome on the tip of his finger as he tried to ignite the end of the stick. ā€œI sent a group of seven people to check up on several reports of a spreading illness in the heart of Teteoria...ā€
ā€œThe Ifalyn.ā€ He paused before putting the cigar to his lips feeling the colour drain from his face.
ā€œYes.ā€ She acknowledged.
ā€œAm I able to talk to any of the people that you sent?ā€
She shook her head. ā€œUnfortunately only one of them returned. She passed on early this morning from whatever has inflicted the people there.ā€
ā€œShei.ā€ Itoku muttered under his breath.
ā€œI know you're probably not fussy on going but you're one of the only people who would be able to withstand whatever is radiating out from the Ifalyn. There's just one other thing I need to know...ā€ She swallowed leaving her voice to trail off. Glancing back out at the storm she was aware that Tyrrenia wouldn't fare well if the Ifalyn broke.
Itoku awaited for her to speak with a gesture for her to proceed. She turned back to him. ā€œHow good is your Teteorian?ā€
ā€œTerrible,ā€ He paused as her face slumped from the news. ā€œHowever I do know someone who is fluent.ā€
Sirah lit up. ā€œWho?ā€ She demanded.
ā€œMy younger brother Koro. He's a translator.ā€
ā€œExcellent, take him with you.ā€
Itoku stood stiffly. ā€œYou're kidding!? I can't drag him into that mess!ā€ He cried.
A sly grin crept up her cheeks. ā€œLook, I'll offer the two of you a reward if you do.ā€
He scoffed. ā€œYou can't possibly think about doing that. Neither one of us do what we do with anything of the like in mind. I'm not about to offer my help for what's offered in return irregardless of what wealth you're willing to give.ā€
ā€œWhat if I personally offered you something you couldn't turn down?ā€ Her grin widened.
Itoku folded his arms grumpily. ā€œLike what?ā€
Sirah beamed that he took the bait. ā€œI'm not going to tell you until you get back. You need to prove yourself first.ā€ She teased.
He rolled his eyes in response. ā€œWhatever you say princess. I'll fetch Koro, see if he'll come along, if not then I'll do it myself.ā€ Itoku groaned taking a long drag on his cigar. Sirah beamed like a kid during the winter solstice festival, one of Tyrrenia's biggest holidays.
ā€œI'll be waiting.ā€ She winked.
ā—‡
ā€œSo, let me get this straight, you want me to go with you to Teteoria to investigate the Ifalyn?ā€ Koro rubbed his eyes trying to wake himself. Itoku nodded. ā€œAnd princess Sirah wanted the two of us to do this?ā€
ā€œYes. I know it seems rash but apparently we're the 'only ones who can do the job'.ā€ Itoku mocked. Koro clasped his two hands together in front of his mouth giving Itoku the single miffed expression that told him that this was crazy.
ā€œYou know I wouldn't feel comfortable with you wandering off in there by yourself...ā€ His two bright pale violet eyes bore into his older brothers face.
ā€œI realize that.ā€
ā€œAnd so you should. You're always doing dangerous things.ā€
ā€œNot always...ā€
ā€œReally?ā€ Koro raised his brow making his long diamond shaped face seem longer than what it actually was. ā€œAre you sure about that?ā€
ā€œYes I'm sure!ā€
ā€œOkay... just reassuring myself that you're not going to lead me into some sort of painful death trap, that's all.ā€ Koro chuckled. Itoku stood sourly with his arms crossed tightly against his chest.
ā€œTruly, I'm not.ā€ Itoku huffed.
ā€œFine, fine. Don't be such a furutsha. I was only yanking your chain. Of course I'll come along, it's been a while since I've been to Teteoria. I'd love to see how everyone is making out.ā€ Koro rose from his bedside and patted Itoku on the shoulder. He couldn't help but want to get a rise out of Itoku who always seemed a little too serious for his own good.
Watching Koro and his lanky self stumble across the mess of scrolls and robes strewn over the floor Itoku found himself almost laughing at how tightly wound this had him. Maybe this wasn't going to be so bad, like many other people from outside of Teteoria he had forgotten that the realm had it's peaceful moments. People still lived there and carried on as if nothing was out of place. As Koro packed his bag he was sure that this wouldn't nearly be as hard as princess Sirah made it out to be. Perhaps he would find out what she had in store for him.
Only time would tell, for now the two would have to hope that everything would roll smoothly.

Iā€™m a little late to the party posting this here but I went with drawing something fun for Easter this year. I decided to give some of my side characters some love namely Raei (left) and Jact (right). I really enjoy the dynamic with these two, being the rulers of Fantaesia and Tyrrenia respectively.
I really love their base designs, went well for the colour scheme I went with for the holiday season. I havenā€™t drawn some guys in bunny suits since 2017 so I wanted to change it up this year. I love making pinups and Iā€™m thinking Iā€™ll probably have something spicy for Halloween, Christmas, and even New Years so keep your eyes peeled!

I donā€™t know if Iā€™ll ever finish this but hereā€™s the flat colour of the promo I did a while ago. I rather enjoy showing off everyoneā€™s colours, itā€™s nice to see how they mesh together.

Design wise I really love Itoku, he really sticks out from a lot of the other characters (partly due to a friend I used to have helping me come up with his current design that I just happened to keep). Heā€™s one of the few guys in the story that has short hair seeing as most of them have long hair which I kept as a moreĀ ā€˜culturalā€™ thing the Demyra have.
I almost feel that DIVE follows him more than Robina spite her being the main character. I will admit that heā€™s probably one of my favourite characters that Iā€™ve come up with, thereā€™s been a lot of tweaking to Itoku over the years. He actually started out as an antagonistic character but I completely flipped his role in the story, made him a lot more grounded and perhaps down to earth than what I had him.Ā
With regards to his physique I wanted to make him somewhat strong looking but nothing ridiculous, I didnā€™t want to make him as beefy as Isontaro or some of the other characters even if he is strong in his own right. I was very tempted to go fullĀ ā€˜dad bodā€™ with him but I made him a bit leaner than that. I think with his job, the amount of travelling and moving he does he wouldnā€™t have time to be idle so I couldnā€™t see him being that type.
Tumblr media
When it came to his outfit, I once again with something practical in mind. I wanted something to reflect what he mainly does for what heā€™d wear. I also kept in mind where he normally lives (the realm of Tyrrenia which is typically fairly cold - winter is a big thing there) and the fact that one of his main elements is fire so being all snuggly and warm wouldnā€™t bother him (hence the fur hooded jacket). I actually kept his outfit I came up with a while underneath the coat (Iā€™m sure thereā€™s photos that Iā€™ve drawn even fairly recently with him wearing it). I cannot see myself changing his outfit design overall. He wonā€™t be wearing the same thing 24/7 (I think itā€™s strange that a lot of manga/anime have this for their characters but I digress) but this is what youā€™ll primarily see him in.
His design overall is solid and wonā€™t be changing. I cannot see myself tweaking anything, heā€™s one of the few characters thatā€™s perfect the way he is.
