Funny thing, there is this old tradition in many countries of Europe were you have to tell the bees of important events in your household. Births, Marriages, Deaths, etc. you go tell it to the bees. You tell the bees secrets too. But I observed a different kind of tradition in my household. See, my father had fish. He used to work with glass so he made the tank with his own hands and because he was crafty like that he also build a pump himself and other things. I grew up with fish and there were two special ones in there who grew up with me and grew very old too. I told my secrets to the fish. I feel rather connected with water you see. And fish. And now that I live in the house my father used to live in I sometimes get both hit with nostalgia and grief. Know what I do then? I walk the 15 min down to the river. Hazel posts a TikTok filmed in Steve and Eddie’s bedroom that starts as she says, “So, Pop has basically been moping–”

“I’m not moping,” Steve interrupts from somewhere off camera.

“He’s been moping all day,” Hazel continues, “Because Dad isn’t wearing his ring.”

She flips the camera and zooms in on a ceramic dish on one bedside table to show that it’s currently housing a small pile of rings, including the silver band matching the one Steve is wearing on the ring finger of his left hand.

She pans over to Steve, who’s sitting in bed with his iPad.

“Your dad is a grown man,” he says, not looking at the camera, “If he wants to pretend to be single for a day, that’s totally fine.”

From even further off camera, Eddie can be heard saying, “Alright,” and he appears in the doorway a moment later.

“Enough with the slander. I took my ring off because someone,” he pauses to look pointedly at Steve, “conned me into doing yard work with him this weekend and there was so much dirt under there it could’ve grown its own weeds.”

The TikTok cuts to Steve saying, “Hey, no judgment from me. If you want the world to think you're available to see what happens, more power to you. I personally don't get it, but–”

“Oh my god.”

The video cuts again to Eddie putting the ring back on.

“Happy now, princess?” he asks.

Hazel pans the camera back over to Steve in time to catch a smug nod.

Later, when both the camera and Hazel are gone, Eddie says, “I really don’t know what you’re worried about, man.”

“Uh, do you really not have any idea how good-looking you are?” Steve replies, “I’m not worried about you. I’m worried about everyone else.”

“Steve, when I see someone as old as us who is both hot and not wearing a ring, my first thought is to wonder what’s wrong with them.”

The post of Ford being naturally affectionate haven't leave my mind omg but (in your opinion) what about the other way? What would happen if the reader is casually affectionate to the Stan's? Rubbing their hand on their back, leaning their head to his shoulders, briefly touching their hair, etc

I think they are both naturally affectionate, it comes out in them in little ways. But omg if someone did it to them?! Absolutely flustered! I think we've seen a lot from the series and so forth to suggest that both of them don't quite know what to do when someone turns the tables on them, and is geniunely interested in them.

Stanley loves it, he'll not think too much of you putting an arm around him or something small like that, but more affectionate touching (e.g your hand rubbing his back) without him somehow initiating it? He's a mess, he's not used to it and gets flustered in the beginning! He panics just a teensy bit and if you ask if he's okay or try to stop the touch he'll reassure you its fine, but he's doing a bad job at maintaining that smooth, confident facade, for sure ^^'

He'll make a few little jokes about it if he feels too startled about you initiating casual affection, even ones that are a little flirty, cause he does like it, he's just not used to it. (like "woah there, toots! hands off the merchandise!" or "you feel that? that's made of husband material!" *wink wink*) xD

He may even confess he doesn't think he'll ever get used to it, which (un)fortunately for him only spurs you on to do it as much as possible. (On a sadder note, I think Stanley has gone without so much affection, especially romantically, or has been used to things going badly in the past, that he might have some moments he's suspicious that you have ulterior motives. But I think, since having the twins over for the summer and reconnecting with his brother he'd be less jumpy/paranoid.)

But he likes a little bit of PDA, Stan's heart will swell with pride and affection at some of those touches, especially if you lean your head on his shoulder, link your arm through his, those sorts of things. It feels 'gentlemanly' to him, like when he used to go to the pictures as a kid, where the young lead would 'court' girls in the movies he watched. I mean, he watches the duchess approves, this man has a romantic streak! Just don't call him a sap, he'll never admit to it. Though, after a while he'll lean into it, and when he does he'll 'get you back' for being affectionate to him, like when you came up to kiss him on the cheek when he had a lull in the tour he was doing? Expect 'revenge' in the form of being teased mercilessly

(the kissing exchange rate is exceptionally high, so now you will receive 5 kisses back! The next day it's 10 kisses, 'why is it so high', you say? inflation ya know? but then stan forgets to count and is like 'ah, screw it!' and drops the play act to properly smooch you <3 if dipper and mabel are around to see these antics they will voice how gross this is haha)

Stanford is more or less the same, in that he has gone without such affection for long periods of time, even if he had friends in other dimensions. Man is more touched starved and not as open (initially) to casual affection from someone, but once he becomes more familiar with you, he would be naturally affectionate too! It catches him off guard a lot more in comparison to his brother, though, he's still adjusting a little to 'normal' life, so its best to make sure he's aware that you're going to touch him as the contact might make him literally jump, out of pure instinct!

He's definitely flustered and surprised that someone else is initiating touch/affection with him, at first he is a little bewildered and feels insecure, he's out of his depth as he feels like doesn't know how to reciprocate and he hates the feeling; he feels bad because he is touch starved some of the time he becomes touch averse. (He'll have to bite the bullet and communicate that it's okay, instead of having an internal meltdown; he's been healing well from the past, so he'll quickly realise this is needed.)

So, he settles into welcoming it, he may be out of practice but it's nice to have someone who is comfortable around him so much that they would want to rest a head on his shoulder or hold his hand or let him hug them. That's just what friends do and he will start to trust and feel safer around you more, for the casual affection you show.

He's a little more reserved than his brother, but nevertheless he does like the attention - especially in public, though he's not really one for PDA, he likes holding your hand.

Just might take him a while to fully realise when its romantic vs platonic, potentially, but if you're already in the romantic zone, I think he'd be a lot more aware that you're being affectionate and he'd still have times he'll blush because of it and get all dreamy-eyed since he's not used to it, but also he just loves the reassurance your physical touch gives him that you love him too! He definitely confesses at points that he doesn't know if he'll ever get used to the casual affection you give to him so easily, will sometimes even apologise for being caught off guard by your affection. Does (rarely) get a little annoyed by your affection when he's absorbed in his work becuase he doesn't want to be distracted ^^' but that's only because physical touch is actually a strong love language for him, he tends to feel like he's been switched off or short circuiting when you rub your hand across his back or through his hair, he'll never finish those equations now! hehehe

“Passing” as a concept is bs but this is especially true for non-binary. You’re asking everyone else to pretend that we can’t tell what sex you are and to be up to date on gender trends so we can accurately guess how you want us to perceive you. Like is [some hypothetical male] wearing an ugly dress and lipstick in a trying to be a woman way or a trying to be non-binary way. We know we’re supposed to pretend he’s not a man but we also have to guess if we’re supposed to tell if he’s just badly dressing up as a woman or is deliberately being some other third thing.

Many trans identifying females only perform androgyny in ways that cater to the male gaze. Sure they’ll have a stylish short haircut and wear flannels but they almost always remove their body hair and continue to wear makeup in a “lighter” style. Unlike mean hairy butch dykes, who they would never look like (gross) they “reject gender” without meaningfully challenging gendered roles. They seek to position themselves as “not women” while safely obeying the most sacred rules of presenting as a woman. By adopting new pronouns or a new label they can justify fulfilling the tomboy, girl next door, effortless beauty male fantasy. A woman who rejects the patriarchal beauty standards without rejecting her identity as a woman is infinitely more transgressive than a woman who takes no meaningful actions and invents a new label to reframe her conformity as deviance. It’s just lazy.

I'd like to see more narrative/story-telling bits of your OCs! They're all so interesting and I only know little bits and pieces. You portray the emotions of their experiences so well that they do feel familiar even without this context though. :)

Oh that is a wonderful ask <3 And a spot on too because I have a lil booklet were I currently thumbnail comic sequences in my downtimes. Especially for Raptamei and another story I have now concrete plans on how to approach and pull off. Story illustrations for written things is nice and all but I have specific sequences nailed down I wish to present in comic format. Not a full blown comic, mind. I rather tell the important story beats and i will probably need a masterpost for chronological purposes XD But yes, you shall receive what you ask for. I have too much to tell about them and specific mannerisms and quirks, emotional shifts and moods are better conveyed in more than one singular illustration >3 Tho I am glad (and thankful ;w;) to hear that I can convey emotional beats well in the handful of illustrations I do have until now. There shall be more. I want to lure you in and live with them for a while, suffer, laugh, cry and overcome by their side. Raptamei is a big wild ride, mostly because it is so character driven and there are like 20 castmembers to get to know so... yeah... got my work cut out with this one.

Mental gymnastics...

I am flipping out. That's all. Just my brain doing cartwheels and whatever those things are called where you flip between those high bars and let go for a breathless second and then grab onto reality again. Or this...

Too much Olympics these past few weeks I guess... anyway.

WARNING: POSSIBLE SPOILER ALERT! I may or may not mention scenes in detail and their outcomes during these long rambling messy posts beginning with the next sentence.

Before I get into it... kudos to the staff for keeping up with these two and for suffering many extremely anxious moments as Jimin and Jungkook drove themselves through NYC, as Jungkook and then both Jimin and Jungkook rode the motorcycle through traffic, and the few heart stopping moments when JK flipped his kayak over and then they took off down the river alone before staff caught up with them. Not to mention probably looking up the nearest ER/urgent care facility in case Jimin got too dehydrated from his bout with the stomach bug.

Seriously though, their lives and global headlines had to flash before their eyes when JK disappeared underwater under that kayak... so big applause for the staff/production crew for not shitting THEIR pants thirteen times too.

So here are some of my thoughts. I'll begin with the first episode...

Episode 1:

In the opening scene, I'm assuming this is Antoya Korean BBQ restaurant. They were talking about JK's sore throat and that he had to visit a medical facility. Jimin kept on about it. It seemed like JK's "stop babying me" attitude bubbled up a little bit. Let them be them. As you can see, JK adjusted Jimin's beanie so he could see his eyes. They were fine.

Pause and reflect: they didn't know what to expect with this idea of a travel show. The moment above happened on Thursday evening, July 13. Both of them were working. Jimin was still working on his concepts, photos, MV and whatnot, planning to finish everything for Muse in the coming months. Jungkook had a full schedule for promoting Seven which was dropping the next day. He had to get up early for Good Morning America concert in the park.

I'm stating all this for point of reference. Nothing is static. JK was in work mode: he had a performance the next day and also not feeling well himself. Jimin had been on a plane for 14 hours. Just keep these things in mind before jumping to conclusions.

In the next scene (the next day) back at the hotel after JK's done with his performance and when he's packing to go on this trip he's all in and ready to go. Hurry up Jimin!

Jimin asked him how the live performance went. As we know, the GMA live performance was mostly rained out. Before the storm came through, they quickly pre-recorded the performances before it would have been time for the live broadcast and then shut it down. Jungkook had to be driven quickly to the studio to be interviewed to fill the leftover time in the program that more of his live performance would have taken up.

Hearing Jungkook say "this isn't my first rodeo" was never going to be on any bingo card in my lifetime.

I don't know what he was scribbling on that iPad but it looked geometric. He was focused. Maybe it was something for the next week's performance, maybe it was a sketch for music show staging, trying to recreate that flower archway they saw at Antoya the night before? maybe he was doodling in Canva... we don't know.

Me either, Jimin... (this was the first of all the hilarious gems that begin to shower down on us).

They are both known to be perfectionists when it comes to their work. And we know they've also both performed when feeling less than 100% on that stage. Jungkook realized there were circumstances beyond his control and he took it in stride.

FYI, in New York City, they stayed at the Loews Regency on E. 61st Street in Manhattan. It is between Madison Ave. and Park Avenue and not far from Central Park. Swanky. The suite looks like the 2-bedroom "Park Avenue Suite" and runs $2100 a night... gasp. Yes, its the same suite where JK did his live after his rained upon GMA appearance. During this live he mentioned being poked with needles, IV's and shots in the butt as well as teasing us with what would become Are You Sure:

No, I don't think Jimin stayed in this suite with JK. Jimin's room had a smaller bathroom and a shower curtain instead of a glass shower door. Staff with camera woke him up.

To be that beautiful when rolling out of bed... anyway, I digress...

It truly was unplanned and spontaneous as if they were doing this with the idea of "let's try it and see if it can be viable." Even Jimin wasn't sure if any of this could be aired.

Once they got in the Jeep they started to find their groove. Being alone, just them, was what they needed. They could focus on what was ahead of them. The driving moments were some of the best for me.

We eventually learn that Jimin wasn't feeling well and I'm certain this is what Jungkook was telling Yoongi during that episode of Suchwita, along with the elbowing in the nose.

Seems like Jimin's stomach trouble started when they were at the first restaurant, the burger place. The bathroom visits continued at the brewery and into the evening at the campsite.

Jimin had some sort of stomach bug that kept him on the toilet a lot and he ran a little bit of a temp. I am sad that he wasn't feeling 100% when they were on the yacht the next day but he still seemed to enjoy it enough to find the humor in his situation. He was a real trooper.

It sure didn't stop him from eating. My man was very brave in that regard. Me... no way I'd be stuffing my face with a big greasy burger when at any moment I might need to make a run for the toilet.

They get back on the road and these are the moments that I wait for:

After arguing in satoori about who is the worst driver between them, they start shopping at Dick's.

And get recognized...

After shopping excursion at Dick's, they finally head to High Nine Brewery...

Jimin's first sample wasn't to his taste (again). His taste buds were probably a little off since he had the stomach thing going on... but JK's eyebrows say that his sample was pretty good.

They finally settle on a hard seltzer and a pale ale and relax for a little bit. Jungkook is still wondering what would make good subject matter to film. They are truly making it up as they go...

Jimin proceeds to explain and an interaction happens and I am not sure what to think about it:

I am going to end this post here because they are now on their way to the kayaks and that segment deserves its own post and I have too many screen shots of it to fit in this post.

Celebrimbor and Galadriel have an interaction *ON SCREEN* about the similarities of their interactions by Sauron. How they both weren't strong enough. How they are both fighting him in the wrong way. How their feelings parallel each other. This is not extra-textual authorial words. This is on screen. In a pivotal moment for those characters to have this realization.

I beg you to stop erasing the importance of Celebrimbor to the narrative because you imagine people are trying to erase Galadriel and put her in the kitchen. That isn't gonna happen -- the authors of this story clearly love her, she is gonna be an important character in all 5 season -- even if she isn't interacting with sauron. It frankly feels homophobic at this point the insistence that no m/m relationships (whether you read it as platonic or sexual) shown on screen could have the same emotional weight as the m/f one (whether you see it as platonic or sexual).

Romantic M/F relationships are not the only ones that are important and significant and are not what makes female characters relevant or interesting. I feel so many of the canon ship wars about Galadriel revolve around this feeling. It's not the feminist take you think it is.
