End of Lease Cleaning: The Ultimate Guide to a Stress-Free Move-Out
Moving out of a rental property can be a whirlwind of excitement and stress. Amidst packing up your belongings, arranging your new home, and managing a long list of tasks, one crucial aspect often looms large: end of lease cleaning.
This final step can make or break your deposit return and is essential for leaving your old home in pristine condition. But fear not! We’re here to guide you through a seamless best end of lease cleaning in Melbourne process, ensuring you can focus on settling into your new space without a hitch.
Tumblr media
Why End of Lease Cleaning Matters
The end of lease cleaning is not just a chore—it's a crucial part of your rental agreement. Landlords expect properties to be returned in the same condition they were rented out in. A thorough cleaning can mean the difference between a full deposit refund and losing a significant portion of cleaning costs.
Additionally, a sparkling clean property reflects well on you as a tenant and can even enhance your reputation as a reliable renter.
Creating Your End of Lease Cleaning Checklist
To ensure nothing is overlooked, a comprehensive checklist is your best friend. Here's a breakdown to get you started:
General Cleaning
Dusting: Begin by dusting all surfaces, including shelves, light fixtures, and vents. Don’t forget to clean ceiling fans and high corners where dust tends to accumulate.
Vacuuming & Mopping: Vacuum carpets thoroughly and mop hard floors to remove any dirt or stains. Pay extra attention to high-traffic areas.
Kitchen Cleaning
Appliances: Clean inside and out of the oven, microwave, and refrigerator. Don’t forget the range hood and exhaust fan.
Cabinets & Drawers: Wipe down all cabinet surfaces, inside and out. Clean any crumbs or spills from drawers.
Countertops: Disinfect countertops and sink, removing any stains or residue.
Bathroom Cleaning
Shower & Tub: Scrub tiles, grout, and the showerhead. Ensure there is no soap scum or mould.
Toilet: Clean both the inside and outside of the toilet bowl, including the base and the tank.
Vanity & Mirrors: Wipe down mirrors and clean the vanity, including the sink and faucet.
Bedrooms & Living Areas
Windows: Wash windows inside and out, including any window tracks and sills.
Wardrobes: Empty wardrobes and clean both the interior and exterior. Wipe down any shelving.
Doors & Frames: Wipe down doors and frames to remove fingerprints and dust.
Final Touches
Trash Removal: Dispose of all garbage and ensure no waste is left behind.
Check for Repairs: Look for any minor damages and address them before the final inspection.
Professional vs. DIY: What’s Best for You?
While a DIY approach to end of lease cleaning services in Melbourne can save money, it’s often time-consuming and physically demanding. Professional cleaning services offer several advantages:
Expertise: Professionals are experienced and know exactly what landlords look for.
Equipment: They use specialised equipment and cleaning solutions that can achieve a deeper clean.
Efficiency: A professional team can complete the job faster, giving you more time to focus on other moving tasks.
When choosing a cleaning service, look for those with positive reviews, clear pricing, and a satisfaction guarantee.
Preparing for the Final Inspection
Once your end of lease cleaning is complete, schedule a final inspection with your landlord or property manager. Be prepared for a walkthrough where they will check the cleanliness of the property. If any issues are identified, address them promptly to ensure you get your full deposit back.
Summing Up
End of lease cleaning is more than just a task; it’s a key step in wrapping up your rental experience on a high note. By following a thorough end of lease cleaning checklist and considering professional cleaning services, you can ensure your old home is left spotless and ready for the next tenant.
With a clean slate, you’ll be free to focus on the exciting new chapter of your life in your new home.

Transform Your Home with Kitchen Renovations in Clayton Heights
Understanding Your Needs and Vision
The first step in any successful kitchen renovation is understanding your needs and vision. Consider how you use your kitchen. Do you love to cook and need a chef-inspired space? Or is your kitchen more of a social hub where friends and family gather? Understanding your lifestyle will help you determine the best layout, appliances, and features for your new kitchen.
Planning and Design
Once you have a clear vision, it’s time to plan and design your kitchen. This phase is crucial as it lays the foundation for the entire project. Kitchen Renovations Clayton Heights Collaborate with a professional designer who can bring your ideas to life while ensuring functionality and efficiency. They can help you select the right materials, colors, and styles that align with your vision and complement your home’s overall aesthetic.
When planning the layout, consider the kitchen work triangle, which includes the stove, sink, and refrigerator. This design principle ensures that these three critical areas are within easy reach, making your kitchen more efficient and enjoyable to use. Additionally, think about storage solutions such as custom cabinets, pull-out shelves, and pantry organization systems to maximize space and keep your kitchen clutter-free.
Selecting Materials and Appliances
The materials and appliances you choose can make a significant impact on the overall look and functionality of your kitchen. For countertops, consider durable and low-maintenance options like quartz or granite, which offer a sleek and modern appearance. When it comes to cabinetry, solid wood or high-quality laminates are excellent choices for a timeless look.
Appliances are another critical component of your kitchen renovation. Energy-efficient models not only reduce your carbon footprint but also save on utility bills. Look for appliances with the ENERGY STAR label and consider smart appliances that offer advanced features and connectivity for a more streamlined kitchen experience.
Lighting and Fixtures
Lighting plays a crucial role in setting the ambiance and functionality of your kitchen. A well-lit kitchen makes cooking and entertaining more enjoyable. Combine ambient lighting, task lighting, and accent lighting to create a layered effect. Pendant lights over an island or dining area add a touch of elegance, while under-cabinet lighting illuminates countertops for safer food preparation.
Fixtures such as faucets and cabinet handles are the finishing touches that can elevate your kitchen’s design. Choose fixtures that complement your overall style, whether it’s modern, traditional, or transitional. High-quality fixtures not only look great but also offer durability and ease of use.
Hiring the Right Professionals
A kitchen renovation is a significant investment, and hiring the right professionals is essential to ensure the project runs smoothly. Kitchen Renovations Fort Langley Look for experienced contractors and designers with a portfolio of successful kitchen renovations. Check references and read reviews to ensure they have a track record of delivering high-quality work on time and within budget.
Enjoying Your New Kitchen
Once your renovation is complete, it’s time to enjoy your new kitchen. Whether you’re cooking gourmet meals, hosting dinner parties, or simply enjoying a quiet breakfast, your renovated kitchen will become a central hub of activity in your home. With careful planning and the right professionals, a kitchen renovation in Clayton Heights can transform your home, making it more functional, stylish, and enjoyable for years to come.

Why Restaurant Equipment Cleaning Services Are Essential to the Success of Your Business
Whether you run a restaurant, own a cafe or operate a food truck, keeping your establishment clean is crucial to the success of your business. A restaurant cleaning service can help you keep your place spotless by providing services like sweeping, mopping, dusting and vacuuming. They can also help you deep-clean your kitchen equipment and sanitize areas where customers can sit and eat. If you’re looking for a restaurant cleaning company, it’s important to choose one that has experience with the specific needs of restaurants.
A good cleaning service will work with you to understand your restaurant’s unique cleaning requirements and develop a schedule that meets your needs. The type of cleaning services you need will also affect the cost. For example, more intensive services, such as hood degreasing, may be more expensive than general cleaning tasks.
Restaurant equipment cleaning services have a high turnover rate, so you need to be prepared to replace workers who leave for other jobs or become sick. This can increase the frequency of cleaning and sanitization needs, but an experienced company can adapt to meet your changing requirements without disrupting your daily operations.
A clean restaurant is critical to customer satisfaction and safety. If a health inspection discovers pests or contaminants in your establishment, you could face multiple health code violations and fines, as well as a tarnished reputation. A professional commercial cleaning company can eliminate these problems before they spiral out of control.
Kitchens are the heart of any restaurant, and they require regular, detailed cleaning to prevent cross-contamination and keep food safe for consumers. A reputable restaurant cleaning company can handle all of your kitchen’s needs, including sanitizing surfaces and equipment and washing ductwork. They can also help you keep your restaurant’s kitchen in compliance with all health and safety regulations.
If a restaurant is not cleaned regularly, it can harbor mice and other rodents that are carriers of diseases and parasites. In addition to contaminating food, these pests can cause significant damage to the structure of your establishment. A restaurant that is infested with rodents and other insects can be closed until the problem is resolved. A restaurant cleaning company can reduce the risk of pests by removing clutter, sealing cracks and crevices, sanitizing food preparation areas and preventing debris from being brought into the building on delivery trucks.
Bathrooms are a hotbed of bacteria and germs, especially in fast-food establishments. A reputable restaurant cleaning service will take a comprehensive approach to bathroom cleaning and disinfection, including sanitizing faucet handles, touch-free dispensers and hand towels. They will also use color-coded cleaning supplies for each area to avoid bacterial cross contamination.
Choosing the right restaurant cleaning service is vital to maintaining a sanitary environment and ensuring your customers’ safety. Do your research and find a company that has been around for a while and has a solid track record with consumer protection organizations and online reviews. Limiting your search to companies that specialize in cleaning for restaurants can also make the process easier.

Wave Goodbye to Germs in Style: Our Review of the Moen Align Brushed Gold Touchless Faucet
Kitchen upgrades are exciting, but finding a faucet that seamlessly blends style, functionality, and convenience can feel like searching for a unicorn. Well, hold onto your whisks, everyone, because our team might have just stumbled upon the holy grail! Today, we're diving into our experience with the Moen Align Brushed Gold Motionsense Wave One-Sensor Touchless One-Handle High Arc Modern Pulldown Kitchen Faucet (yes, that's the full name, and yes, it's worth the mouthful!).
First Impressions: From the moment we installed this faucet, it was clear it was special. The brushed gold finish isn't just trendy, it elevates any kitchen with a touch of modern sophistication. And let's talk about that high arc spout – it's a dream come true for filling even the tallest pots and pans without a splash.
Touchless Magic: Gone are the days of struggling with germy hands and faucet handles! The motion sensor is incredibly responsive, allowing us to turn the water on and off with a simple wave. This is a game-changer for both hygiene and convenience, especially when our hands are covered in flour or raw meat. Plus, no more worrying about spreading germs to the faucet handle itself!
Spray Head Hero: Say goodbye to stubborn messes and hello to cleaning bliss! The pull-down spray head extends smoothly, reaching every corner of the sink for effortless cleaning. And when we're done, the Reflex docking system ensures a smooth, satisfying retraction – no more fighting with a stubborn sprayer!
Bonus Perks:
The one-handle design makes adjusting water temperature and pressure a breeze, even with soapy hands. The Spot Resist™ finish keeps the faucet looking polished and fingerprint-free, minimising cleaning time (because who wants to spend more time cleaning than cooking?). The Power Clean™ spray technology delivers a powerful blast of water for those particularly tough, stuck-on messes. And let's not forget the peace of mind that comes with a limited lifetime warranty!
A Few Things to Consider:
The brushed gold finish might not be everyone's cup of tea, depending on your kitchen's overall style. The touchless sensor requires batteries, so factor that into your budget.
Overall Verdict:
If you're looking for a stylish, functional, and hygienic kitchen faucet that doesn't compromise on performance, the Moen Align Brushed Gold Motionsense Wave is a top contender. It seamlessly blends convenience, performance, and a stunning design, making it a worthwhile investment for any kitchen. Ditch the germs and embrace the style – your kitchen (and hands!) will thank you!

Airbnb Cleaning: The Key to a Positive Guest Experience
Tumblr media
Introduction
Welcome to our comprehensive guide on Airbnb cleaning. As a host, ensuring a clean and inviting space for your guests is paramount to providing a positive experience. In this article, we will explore the importance of cleanliness in the context of Airbnb hosting and share valuable tips and strategies to help you maintain a spotless and welcoming environment.
1. The Impact of Cleanliness on Guest Satisfaction
Cleanliness plays a significant role in shaping the overall guest experience. When travelers choose Airbnb accommodations, they often seek a more personalized and comfortable alternative to traditional hotels. A clean and well-maintained space reassures guests that their comfort and well-being are top priorities. It sets the stage for a positive and memorable stay, leading to rave reviews, repeat bookings, and recommendations to others.
2. Crafting an Effective Cleaning Routine
Establishing a consistent commercial cleaning routine is essential to maintain the highest standards of cleanliness in your Airbnb. Let's delve into the key steps involved:
a. Gather the Necessary Cleaning Supplies
Before embarking on your cleaning journey, ensure you have all the essential supplies at hand. These may include:
High-quality cleaning products suitable for various surfaces (e.g., glass, wood, stainless steel).
Microfiber cloths and sponges for dusting and wiping.
Vacuum cleaner or broom for floors.
Mop and bucket for hard floors.
Protective gloves to safeguard your hands.
b. Start with Decluttering
Begin by removing any unnecessary items or personal belongings that may clutter the space. This step creates a sense of openness and cleanliness, allowing guests to feel more at ease.
c. Thoroughly Clean Each Room
When cleaning each room, be meticulous and thorough. Pay attention to the following areas:
Dust all surfaces, including light fixtures, shelves, and furniture.
Wipe down countertops, tables, and other frequently touched surfaces.
Clean windows and mirrors to achieve a streak-free shine.
Vacuum carpets and rugs, and sweep or mop hard floors.
Empty trash bins and replace liners.
d. Focus on Detail-oriented Tasks
To elevate the cleaning standards of your Airbnb, incorporate these detail-oriented professional cleaning tasks:
Clean and sanitize kitchen appliances, such as the refrigerator, oven, and microwave.
Disinfect high-touch areas like doorknobs, light switches, and remote controls.
Change and refresh bedding, ensuring it is crisp and inviting.
Pay special attention to the bathroom, thoroughly cleaning the toilet, shower, and sink.
Employ air fresheners or natural alternatives to eliminate any unpleasant odors.
3. Enhancing the Guest Experience
Apart from maintaining a clean environment, consider going the extra mile to exceed your guests' expectations. Here are some suggestions to enhance their experience:
a. Thoughtful Amenities
Surprise and delight your guests by providing thoughtful amenities that cater to their comfort and convenience. Consider including:
Fresh flowers or a welcome basket with snacks and beverages.
High-quality toiletries such as shampoo, conditioner, and body wash.
Extra blankets, pillows, and towels for added comfort.
Local area guides or recommendations to help guests explore the surroundings.
b. Attention to Detail
Devote time to inspecting your Airbnb thoroughly before each guest's arrival. Check for any maintenance issues that need addressing, such as leaky faucets, burnt-out light bulbs, or loose doorknobs. By proactively resolving such matters, you ensure a seamless and hassle-free experience for your guests.
c. Personalized Touches
Inject a touch of personalization into your Airbnb to create a unique and memorable experience. Consider displaying local artwork, incorporating tasteful decor, or leaving a handwritten welcome note. These personalized touches resonate with guests, leaving a lasting impression.
4. Professional Assistance
If maintaining high cleanliness standards becomes overwhelming, don't hesitate to enlist professional cleaning services. Experienced professional accommodation cleaners can help you maintain the pristine condition of your Airbnb, freeing up your time and energy to focus on other aspects of hosting.
Conclusion
Prioritizing cleanliness in your Airbnb is pivotal to providing a positive guest experience. By following the tips and strategies outlined in this guide, you can ensure that your guests feel comfortable, satisfied, and eager to leave glowing reviews. the woman is the king, part two
summary: a throughline of the matriarchal scullys; be they ethereal, sharp-witted, and ill-omened.
thank you to everyone who enjoyed the first part of this story! writing again has been so great and i’m excited for everyone to read where it goes from here!
part 1: melissa
part 2: dana
———
The exam room is harshly lit, brutally overclean. When the doctor gives the diagnosis, it knocks the breath out of her, and she has the audacity to declare her gratitude. How could she.
The fragility of her age comes to mind on the drive home; her eyes prickle watching her copy of her oncology referral slide across the dashboard.
Dana is only thirty-three. Melissa was only thirty-three. She ponders her mother, Maggie, at thirty-three. Her destiny already decided; along for the military ride. She was carrying the fifth Scully child that year. Their matrarical line is cursed by the thirty-third year.
She simmers with the news for a few days; plotting methods of delivering impending doom. Mulder, the usual harbinger of bad news, is the one she tells first, and she believes using a clinician’s touch might soothe her.
The pronoun that binds them, the “we” travels from his vocal cords to their air between them. When he pauses, she can fill in the blanks of how he wants the sentence to end. We can do something about this or we can fix this. The problem is, there isn’t anything to be done.
Inside her head is a glass and cancer is the water from a faucet turned all the way on. They are merely waiting for the overflow.
--
Tara is pregnant; she is having a boy. Her brother’s wife is thirty-three. It must be so nice, to be dubbed a Scully, and yet remain so blessed at this foredoomed age.
An appointment to be pumped with poison and Tara’s baby shower fall in the same week. What a scheduling nightmare, she jokes, when she declines the invitation with warm regards. Bill does not laugh and he buys their mother a plane ticket.
The total lack of skeletal structure takes her over, has her melted into the couch. Scully finds the initial nausea passes quickly this time. It is the wave of self-consciousness from Mulder bearing witness to this betrayal of her body that lingers.
“It must be kind of exciting,” Mulder comments. She is watching him wipe down the counter and she doesn’t remember a single time she has seen him willingly clean anything. He is not half-assing any of the responsibilities bestowed upon him by the Mrs. Scully.
“It might be more exciting if it were someone else,” Scully responds, forgoing her usual diplomatic response on the subject.
Mulder pauses, focuses in on her eyes, and in unsaid words, he nods in agreement. He throws the wet rag into the sink with a stomach-churning squelch and falls beside her on the couch.
“You know,” she adds, “Melissa always said she wasn’t going to have kids until she was forty.”
Melissa would goad her into increasingly ridiculous futures; nothing is more ridiculous than futures that will never exist. Neither of them could have predicted such an outcome.
When they were young, one Scully sister was rarely found without the other. It was only the intricacies of adult life that would split them apart. Melissa yearned for adventure; to shed ideals and expectations from their youth in far off places. Their parents envisioned a certain fate for their children, and Dana followed it, until she didn’t.
As she conjures up those conversations about where their lives would go, she realizes she cannot even remember her voice. It rolls over her like a wave, the awareness of fading memories, and it cracks her guise held barely together.
Her glassy eyes brim and she finally crumbles, feeling wholly pathetic. She lacks her usual resiliency that he is accustomed to seeing from her as she weeps, “My sister is gone and I have cancer, Mulder.”
“I know,” he says.
“I’ll miss everything,” she whimpers. The weight of mortality hits her; the decades worth of wasted holidays and the lost memory of her nephew’s birth. Scully will never stand in resolution with her partner after their tireless work for the truth. The loss of an uncomplicated life feels enormous.
She laments what she was never sure of even desiring; the two-story in the suburbs, the babies of her own, the one true love...
“Let’s get married.”
--
His offer hangs in the air. Scully cries a bout of nausea and bolts for the bathroom. When she emerges, Mulder is there to tuck her into bed.
The sun sets and it rises again on a new day. She comes out of the bedroom apprehensively. Finding Mulder on one knee in her hallway isn’t an idea she can rule out completely. It wouldn’t even come close to the craziest thing she has seen him do.
Sitting at the kitchen table, Mulder rubs circles into his forehead with his cell phone pressed to his ear. She gets close enough to vaguely hear the caller on the other end, listen to the outrage behind, “I couldn’t even put the kettle on without her standing right behind me. In my own home, Fox,” and making it seem as though this is the only issue in the world that matters. And Scully kind of wishes that was true.
“That’s her job, Mom,” he replies. The tone of his voice almost makes her laugh. A polite but clear get me out of here she knows well that comes out during conversations with authority figures, midwestern cops, and not unsurprisingly, mothers.
Their eyes meet, he looks at her as though she is his unsurpassable savior. He begs off the phone, making the usual adult child promises, and sets his cell phone down on the table.
Scully commends Mulder for trying to be more involved with his family since his mother’s stroke. But what a fate he has, caring for the medically and emotionally broken women in his life. He gives her a tight lipped smile and she asks, “Is everything alright?”
“Jury’s still out,” he declares with a shrug. He stands and starts walking toward the kitchen. “Can I get you anything? Water, toast, a ring?”
A certainly interesting turn of events for them, a question that could develop into an actual conversation about the night before.
“Mulder.”
“We could get married, Scully.”
“This is so like you, Mulder. This is your stream of consciousness decision making,” she counters. Scully flattens her hands on the table, takes a breath, and attempts to change her tone to sound a little more kind. “I know the idea that I’m dying is bleak. But there are implications to getting married. I couldn’t do that to you.”
Scanning Mulder’s eyes, Scully can see he understands what she means by implications. “Don’t think about that,” he tells her finally, “If you really believe this is the end, what do you still want to experience?”
Scully’s eyes flash away, toward the door. Four years ago, she stood in that spot, and assured her sister unequivocally of her absolute disinterest in dating her new partner. Even if he were just a guy.
Selfishness has often forced a wedge between them; a precursor to many experiences they would have as partners. His brilliance and humanity drew her in then, not unlike the way it does now. When the question was posed--just any guy--their debates were thrilling, a little flirtatious even, and now they can absolutely infuriate her, but she respects his ideals, and she knows that sentiment is reciprocated.
On occasion, Scully is even a little selfish, and allows herself to appreciate just a guy with a little flop of hair that falls onto his forehead, and with the most charming smile.
Whether it be guilt or admiration, Mulder wants her to experience everything before it gets taken away. She can admire the altruism.
Mulder doesn’t ask again, he only suggests. And she accepts.
--
The commencement of their marriage is without fanfare in a government building on a Friday afternoon with grocery store flowers and a safe kiss on the cheek to clinch the deal. There are no rings but he holds her left hand as they bound down the courthouse steps. During their late lunch at a local diner, the waitress notices their attire, and offers them a free slice of pie, any flavor they want, because it is a special occasion.
A few paces ahead of her on the way to the car, Mulder opens her door. “Your getaway car, my bride,” he teases. The smile on her lips quickly fades. His jovial face morphs to confusion.
But it’s the drip. Blood splatters on the clean, clear plastic protecting their chocolate cream. She tries to maneuver for her purse but he quickly procures tissues from the inside pocket of his jacket.
He squats next to the passenger side of the car and holds tissues to the nose of his bride.
--
Something is weirdly, intangibly incorrect.
It starts with weekend plans. Mulder is already well aware of her singular escape, her monograph for the Penology Review, with its looming deadline coming up.
He normally makes comments about her unwavering professionalism. It is a mutual agreement to keep their marriage to themselves. The federal government has no investment in the inner workings of their lives; they are legally married and they both know that could easily mean reassignment for both of them. It doesn’t stop him from sneaking in a few witticisms for his own amusement.
Mulder knocks. That’s weird.
The wine is truly suspicious. Except for the occasional beer, Mulder was never much for alcohol to begin with, but what is especially bizarre is the sudden lack of concern over her doctor’s recommended meal plan. He had been following it down to the last letter, and while a glass of wine is not exactly forbidden, it is not the first item on their shopping list.
“We never really talk much, do we?”
Admittedly, the shared looks and delicate touches of silent communication is where they excel, but the question is still somewhat puzzling. Since beginning a routine of casual marital cohabitation, she believes they talk quite a bit. The minutiae of everyday life is often a topic of conversation in ways it never has been.
Scully still plays along by agreeing that, no, they don’t talk. She sips wine and tells him true-ish stories of Marcus, the prom date of a Scully, but not herself, and the infamous pumper truck scandal involving her brother Charlie.
Romantic intimacy has not exactly been a component of their marriage and she has found that cancer does not make one feel like the most desirable of specimens. He has never expressed anything to make her believe he feels anything for her beyond friendship, despite the deep affection they share.
He leans in now; his eyes closed and head cocked. Kissing him isn’t a repulsive idea, but it just seems off, because Mulder is acting so strangely out of character.
Scully scrambles off the couch to get away from the man that is so clearly not her partner. Absolutely horrified, she stares at Mulder, and has no reservations when he steps forward to cuff the pathetic and vile man that invades her living room.
--
Many lines have still not been crossed and she doesn’t think they ever will be. The cancer is still aggressively present with the treatments doing very little.
Scully prepares herself for the eventuality of hospitalization, potentially for good, and it is very tempting to keep that from Mulder, to allow them to remain in their bubble, but she knows that isn’t fair.
Her car idles on the street outside Harold Spuller’s care home and three soft raps sound on her driver’s side window. She sucks in air deeply and wipes the tears from her cheeks before rolling down the window.
“I didn’t mean for things to get so heated back there.”
“Me neither,” she agrees. When her eyes flash up to his, so guilty and fond, her words fall out in a tumble, unable to prolong this evasion of the truth any longer. “I don’t know why I lied to you. I’m not fine. My treatments aren’t working and my doctors don’t think another round will change that.”
“I’m in this with you, Scully.”
“I know you are,” she affirms. She ducks her head down toward the steering wheel, like a little girl caught eating dessert before dinner. “I’m tired, Mulder.”
“I’ll follow you.”
His headlights shine in her rearview mirror, trailing behind all the way back to where they began this night in Georgetown. Arriving in the apartment, she shuts the door behind them, and informs him, “I’m going to take a shower,” and he nods, reaching forward to squeeze her shoulder. He loosens his tie and starts meandering toward the bedroom.
The phantom ghost of his touch remains on her shoulder and it reminds her of his romantic soul that she is only now been introduced to. Mulder is more emotionally open and affection than she is. He treats her like a wife. They are married, after all.
Their marital bliss is of their own design; enjoyably innocent with its lack of certain intimate elements left largely undiscussed. However, there is delight to be found in mere shared company. With a no-work policy now enacted in her home, the opportunity to see funnier, more relaxed, and domestic sides of each other often makes it feel as though their marriage could be real.
An unspoken agreement to live this arrangement without rules creates something representative of authentic matrimony. Ignoring the initial awkwardness when sharing a bed leads to the normalization of pressing into his warm side each night; falling asleep faster and deeper. Leisurely playing with his hair while reading on the couch one evening introduced a few form of relaxation they both enjoy. He even calls her “honey” occasionally, and she must admit, it makes her feel pleasantly warm to hear it.
It wasn’t right to keep him out of the loop.
Sitting on the tile shower floor, Scully washes the last six hours from her skin. In an attempt to prove to herself, to everyone, that she can still do this, she pushes herself too far. The best decision for the case was to take down the nurse. For her fragile body, not as much.
A small box sits on top of her towel. She picks it up, weighing it gently in her palm.
Mulder already lies innocently under the covers and appears deeply enthralled in his nighttime reading. He looks very youthful and sweet in his wire-framed glasses and his large feet poking out at the end of the bed. She presents the box in question and inquires, “Mulder, what’s this?”
“Hmm?” he murmurs. He glances up briefly, taking off his glasses. “Oh. Wedding present.”
Eyebrows drawn together in confusion, she sits down on top of the comforter, and cautiously opens the box. Her eyes fall on a gorgeously dainty bracelet with a small diamond affixed to a silver chain.
“I don’t know what to say,” Scully finally admits. Mulder smiles, wordlessly leaning forward to close the distance between them. His kiss finally comes with soft lips and firm resolve.
--
A keen ear kept on the exchange occurring in the hallway, Scully hears the malice in “let her die with dignity,” the intense intent to guilt. Since childhood, Bill has been masterful at identifying a scapegoat.
Appearing at her bedside, Scully takes her brother’s hand. It has been quite some time since they were together in person and she is aware she should focus on the grand gesture of his presence. But they have always sparred on injustice and she just witnessed him as the purveyor.
“I don’t want you to talk to him like that,” she tells him.
It takes almost nothing to generate a quarrel between the two of them. “You keep defending him, Dana, and I don’t see what there is about him to protect,” Bill argues. “You wouldn’t even be in this situation if...”
“Fox has been very helpful,” Maggie interrupts. Their mother is well versed in deescalating the disputes of Dana and Bill; the oil and water of the Scully children. “Bill, sit down and be civil.”
Where Mulder pushes, Bill pulls, and Dana is left somewhere in the middle. Something akin to a jealous feud brews between the two men in her life; each vying for the role of ultimate fixer. It is only when Mulder orchestrates the impossible that her brother cannot deny the miracle.
Most conversations were plans for a comfortable end or perhaps a prolonged, managed experience. The concept of remission, a life without the dark cloud of cancer, was a possibility never even considered.
The day of her discharge finally arrives after a final weeklong observation of her progress, and Mulder, as a now regular fixture of the post-critical care ward, shows up to her room early as usual. He drops a bag on her empty hospital bed. “I brought you some clothes from your apartment,” Mulder informs her. “Unfortunately I couldn’t find anything as uniquely versatile as the hospital gown.”
“I appreciate the effort,” she smiles, ripping open the plastic bag.
Scully can feel an awkwardness emanating from him with three feet between them. She is taking stock of the items he provided when he finally speaks, “Listen, I can be out--”
With a week to discuss the topic, neither of them were brave enough to allow it. The last thing Scully wants Mulder to believe is she married him to take advantage of a kindness he extended to her. It was done with such a different outcome in mind; a selfless act with an outcome to be bathed in heartache.
Now, there is no plan on how to approach where things will go from here. Scully didn’t ever think she would be in a position to have to consider it.
At the very least, they deserve time to enjoy a lack of this particular impending doom.
“Should we get dinner tonight?”
If there is anything they deserve more of, it is time.
It is health.
It is stability.

Chapter 3 of my modern AU holiday fic series is up, and this one is the much-anticipated Jewish!Ciri chapter.
Hanukkah 2018, or The One Where Jaskier Conquers Judaism (A Year in Review):  When Jaskier discovers Ciri's birth mother is Jewish, he's determined to help her keep in touch with her heritage. He tries - and oftentimes fails - throughout the year to provide her this connection. Maybe he'll finally get it right for Hanukkah.
Find it on my ao3, or keep reading below the cut:
It all began with an offhand comment from Geralt not long before the new year. It was burger night, one of the few nights Geralt was actually around to cook. Most evenings Yennefer prepared dinner, or else they were left with one of the handful of dishes Jaskier could reliably not burn. And when he called into the living room for everyone's cheese preference - cheddar for Jaskier, pepper jack for Yen - Ciri had asked for a slice of American on hers. And Geralt had huffed a laugh, bemusedly muttered,
"That's not kosher." And for whatever reason, the statement attracted Jaskier like a moth to light. Before Geralt knew what was happening he'd flitted into the kitchen, pressed his elbows on the island counter and leaned forward.
"What's not kosher?" It sounded like an innocent enough question, but the shit-eating smirk on Jaskier's face said otherwise.
"Cheeseburgers," Geralt shrugged, returning his attention to the stove. Jaskier raised an eyebrow, dropped his chin into his hands. "Her mother was Jewish. Clearly not that Jewish, though."
"Huh." And that was the end of the conversation, except the wheels were already spinning in Jaskier's head. He knew very little about Judaism, but he did know it was matrilineal, making Ciri, by birth, a Jew. And, just like that, Jaskier had found his new year's resolution.
Jaskier was by no means a religious man. He loved his Hallmark holiday Christmas, but that was about the extent of it. He was certainly not a Jew. But how hard could it be, he figured. If he found a way to celebrate Christmas and Easter without really knowing what he was doing, he could surely find a way to give Ciri a slice of her heritage.
Shabbat seemed like a reasonable place to start. Light some candles on Friday night, take a much-needed break from tech, have some challah. Except, Jaskier was no ordinary parent; he was going to go above and beyond for his lion cub and bake his own challah.
This was mistake number one.
The challah caught fire in the oven. He only had a split second to react before that godforsaken fire alarm went blaring, sending Yennefer trudging down the stairs to inspect the situation. Thank god Ciri's school let out later than the high school. He yanked the charred bread from the oven, sustaining a neat little burn on the inside of his wrist that he'd have to find an excuse to explain away later.
"I'm going to try again," he declared, more to himself than anyone else, his wrist held under the running faucet. Yennefer shook her head, busying herself rummaging through their first-aid kit.
"You're no cook, Jask." She turned the faucet, dabbed carefully at his arm with a paper towel. "Just go to the store and buy one. Ciri won't know the difference." His face fell, and he rubbed at his jaw with his free hand.
"But I will." She spread a glop of antibiotic ointment over the wound, trying her best not to scratch him with vampire-red nails.
"You better not burn the house down," was all she had left to add, smoothing the band-aid over his skin.
The second challah (mistake number two), thankfully, did not catch fire. It did, however, refuse to rise, remaining a goopy mess in the bottom of the pan. Yennefer shuffled back through the kitchen again, presumably just to tease him further. A quick glance at the clock informed him he had just enough time for a third try before Ciri came careening in from the bus. Yennefer not-so-subtly recommended he go to the store yet again.
The third challah (mistake number three) did not catch fire. It didn't refuse to rise, either. Instead, it simply exploded, sending half-baked shards of bread splattering all over the interior of their oven. Geralt was going to kill him. Hell, he still didn't have a challah to show for his labors, and Ciri was going to kill him. With a beleaguered sigh, he shuffled on his coat, yanked his keys from their hook in the foyer, and called up to Yennefer that he was running to the store.
After nearly wrecking his car in a race against the school bus and almost cracking his head open on the counter in a dash to make it to the kitchen, Jaskier finally had a beautiful, golden-brown challah waiting on the table. Well, actually, two challahs. He wasn't sure if he should get the regular one or the kind with raisins and, not wanting to mess up any more than he already had, he bought both just to be safe.
He wasn't sure the hug Ciri flung herself into when she caught sight of the rolls waiting for her was well-deserved, but he found his voice wavering with the threat of tears anyway as he stumbled through the blessings over the candles. On the bright side, Kiddush was a fantastic excuse for a glass of wine. With a joyful b'tayavon, they tore into the challah. Yen was right; Ciri didn't know the difference.
Purim was early in 2018, on the first of March. This was, admittedly, something he knew very little about. But he did know that there were services for Purim, so he perused Google until he found a nearby synagogue that welcomed non-members. Perhaps it would've been better advised to reach out ahead of time, but Jaskier was never really one to plan in advance.
This was mistake number four.
He dug out one of the suits he reserved for parent-teacher conferences, enlisted Yennefer's help in wrestling Ciri into a sparkly yellow dress with more ties and zippers than Jaskier knew what to do with (mistake number five), and loaded her into the car before heading off. The first thing he noticed upon crossing the threshold was the costumes. A Batman sprinted past him, followed by an Optimus Prime, while a Princess Anna shouted after them. He glanced from the costumed children, down to his dolled up lion cub, and then back up. Fuck. A sympathetic father wriggled away from his wife and approached him, sticking out a hand for Jaskier to shake.
"You're new, aren't you?" He asked, and Jaskier nodded slowly.
"She, uh… her mom's Jewish," he muttered, tilting his head towards Ciri. She beamed up at the man.
"Papa is learning how to be Jewish for me because Momma celebrates Diwali and Daddy doesn't like holidays," she declared, and Jaskier tightened his grip on her hand. He was humiliated enough as it was; the last thing he needed was to explain his unusual family arrangement to a total stranger. The man quirked an eyebrow at her before returning his attention to Jaskier.
"She's a charmer, isn't she?" He laughed before gesturing towards a redheaded little girl around Ciri's age in a Wonder Woman costume. "That's my little girl, Eliana." Jaskier breathed a sigh of relief.
"This is Ciri." She waved up at them with her free hand. "And I'm Jaskier."
"David." Jaskier shook his hand again, not really certain whether he'd already done so. "Well, I think it's awfully sweet that you're trying to learn for her. But for future reference, the kids usually wear costumes." Jaskier wanted to ask whether that applied strictly to Purim or services in general, but didn't care to embarrass himself further.
The service itself was not terribly long, which was a blessing, because it was entirely in Hebrew. Ciri, for what it's worth, seemed more entertained than him, enraptured by the opportunity to make as much noise as possible at the antagonist, Haman's, name. On the bright side, they got plenty of hamantaschen afterwards, and Jaskier was very grateful that he hadn't had the thought to try to bake them on his own.
Jaskier didn't know much about Jewish holidays, but he did know that Passover was pretty important, and that it was his opportunity to really test his mettle. It was perfect; he loved to entertain, and what was a Seder but one big dinner party. Valdo Marx, his distressingly put-together PTA arch-nemesis/band director of his biggest rival high school, had extended him an invitation to his massive yearly Seder, because "it's tradition to invite literally anyone ." Jaskier refused.
This was mistake number six.
The occasion started to unravel when he found out his parents couldn't make it, but he pressed on anyway (mistake number seven). He decided to cook for the occasion (mistakes number eight through twelve), but the matzo balls came out soggy and underdone, he cut himself slicing apples for charoset, the brisket ended up overcooked and rubbery, his potato kugel was a bland, tasteless mess, and he even managed to mess up hard-boiled eggs. No matter, he could surely just go to the store. But then Yennefer texted that she'd gotten caught up in City Hall and wouldn't make it back in time, and Geralt had work that night, and two did not a Seder make.
Jaskier tucked his tail between his legs and texted Valdo to belatedly take up his invitation. Along the way he ran in for a bottle of Manischewitz (mistake number thirteen). At least he'd checked the internet to make sure Ciri didn't need to be in costume for this holiday. Valdo leered at the bottle of wine he shoved into his hands as he shuffled through the door with Ciri in tow. Go figure, on the table sat an array of much more expensive (and tasty) wines.
When it came time to recite the Ma Nishtana , Valdo scanned the room before his gaze settled on Jaskier and Ciri tucked away in the corner.
"Cirilla," he asked, "how old are you?"
"Seven!" She provided eagerly, and Jaskier decided he needed to have a conversation with her when they got home about how it's sometimes okay to lie, actually.
"That makes you the youngest child," Valdo continued. "Go for it." Ciri, very clearly, wasn't all too sure what exactly she was supposed to be going for, and Jaskier's heart sank. "The four questions?" Valdo elaborated, as if that would be of any help. At her continued and increasingly distressed silence, Valdo set his sights on Jaskier. "Tell me you didn't forget to teach her the four questions." (Mistake number fourteen.) Jaskier shrunk back in his seat, guilt drawn across his face. He leaned to the side and whispered into Ciri's ear.
"I'll do it with you, okay?" She rubbed at the tears forming in her eyes with a small fist.
"You're not a kid," she argued back.
"Your Dad begs to differ," he laughed, tracing the transliterated text with his finger. "Come on. Let's do it together." She nodded meekly, and let her voice fall under his as they stiltedly recited the four questions.
Valdo was onto him and his abject failure as a parent, and if he hadn't been already, Jaskier was sure of it when Valdo interrupted himself just towards the end of the Seder and gestured to him.
"My dearest Jaskier here is an esteemed colleague of mine." His words dripped with sarcasm, and Jaskier felt very small. "A fellow music educator." He raised his glass as if making a toast. "Jaskier, why don't you treat us to that impeccable voice of yours and lead us in Dayenu?" He tried to escape, he really did.
"My concentration was in trombone, you know. Not choir, like our marvelous host." Oh, but Valdo insists he has a beautiful voice (which he does , thank you very much.) "I haven't gotten to warm up." No matter, Valdo assures him. Take your time. "I think I might be coming down with something." Well then he should be in bed, shouldn't he, the poor dear, Valdo interjects. Finally, Valdo's uncanny ability to shoot down every last excuse outpaces his capacity to wrack his brain for them. Thank god for the musical notation printed with both Hebrew and transliteration, and thank god for years of sight-reading practice. He hobbles his way through it, and Ciri buries her head in his side.
The Seder is not a total bust. For one, if someone had told Jaskier a minimum of four glasses of wine were in order, he would've converted a long time ago. Second, Valdo is actually a good cook ( damn him ), and his matzo balls are round and fluffy. Third, Ciri found the afikomen and all of Jaskier's transgressions were swiftly forgotten. She was asleep in her car seat before he'd even pulled out of Valdo's driveway. He decides to write the evening off as a wash and vows to do better next year.
Rosh Hashanah is the next holiday to roll around that he thinks is significant enough to bother with. And it's simple enough, right? Some challah, apples and honey, a few blessings? He can surely do that. Hell, how could he mess it up?
He entirely writes off the prospect of baking his own challah and picks up one of those beautiful, braided loaves the day before. Unfortunately, no one at the kosher bakery thought to warn him that Rosh Hashanah challah should be round, so he has to run back to the store and get another one the next morning (mistake number fifteen).
He cuts himself slicing the apples. Again. (Mistake number sixteen.) Perhaps, Geralt warns him, his knife privileges should be revoked. Except, this time, the cut won't stop bleeding. Spending Rosh Hashanah in the ER with Yennefer mercilessly teasing him the whole way through had not been part of his plans. Six stitches later, Yen swings by the grocery store and picks up a pack of pre-sliced apples on their way home while Jaskier slips in and out of sleep in the passenger's seat, and prays Geralt hasn't put Ciri to bed yet.
Ciri is wide awake when he sheepishly steps through the front door, curled up with Geralt on the couch and already in her pajamas. He leans over the two, plants a kiss on each of their foreheads.
"Sorry, princess," he muttered, slumping onto the couch next to her. She smiled, wriggled free from Geralt's arm and pressed against his chest. "So much for Rosh Hashanah."
"It's okay." She tugged at his hand. "Can I see it?" She asked, gesturing towards the bulky bandage wrapped around his left hand. He held it out for her to inspect while Geralt reminded her to be gentle. "Did it hurt?" He couldn't help but laugh.
"It did. Which is why we don't let you use the big knife." And why Jaskier also probably shouldn't be allowed to use it either.
"Who said Rosh Hashanah had to be cancelled?" Yennefer emerged from the kitchen with a plate full of sliced apples, round challah, and honey, shifting onto the couch next to Geralt. Ciri leapt up, elbowing both Geralt and Jaskier in the process, and devoured the plate eagerly. Maybe it wasn't entirely a bust, after all. Just no more apple slicing moving forward.
Yom Kippur is a big deal. Like, a really big deal, and very serious. Jaskier knows it's not exactly the holiday Ciri is looking forward to, but he has to prove he's serious. It's very important. So, he decides they're going to services.
This was mistake number seventeen.
Step one is waking up at the crack of dawn, dragging himself out of bed, and making an entire pot of coffee before he remembers he's supposed to be fasting (mistake number eighteen) and can't actually drink it. Step two requires digging the suit up again and stopping Yen on her way out the door so she can fix his tie. Step three is to rouse Ciri, singlehandedly deal with the inevitable meltdown that accompanies waking an eight-year-old early on a day off from school (mistake number nineteen), and enviously watch her devour breakfast before the inevitable battle of getting her into a dress.
The service is long . It is boring. It is entirely in Hebrew. And it is certainly not designed with hyperactive elementary schoolers (or their starving, restless parents) in mind. After the third time he thinks it's finally ending, only for the Rabbi to launch back into prayer again, Ciri starts to get especially antsy.
"I need to use the potty," she tells him urgently in that whisper-shout that is a trademark of youth. Fine, he can handle that. He shimmies her through rows of enraptured attendees, waits like a sentinel outside the door to the women's room, and then tiptoes back in.
"Papa, I'm hungry." Not exactly something to announce to a room full of people who can't eat, but so be it. Another hushed escape, a quick munch on the Goldfish he'd been smart enough to pack, and then their cautious reentry.
"Papa, I'm bored." There's not exactly much he can do about that, so he shuffled his phone out of his pocket as discretely as possible, makes absolutely certain the volume is off, and passes it off to her. Unfortunately, this is only a temporary solution, and she's squirming in her seat before long. "Papaaa, I'm reeeally bored."
"Just a little longer, lion cub," he assures her. He should've fled while he still had the chance to do so with dignity and grace, but he's sure it must nearly be done, and they can brave it out (mistake number twenty). This is, apparently, the very worst decision he could make. It is not, in fact, nearly done.
"Papaaa!" She's getting increasingly louder, wriggling around with increasing intensity. That heart-melting, will-bending pout of hers is drawn on her lips. This is decidedly not good. "I wanna go home!" That one was loud enough to turn a few heads, which means it's definitely time to go.
"Okay, okay," he attempts to placate her, "we're going now." But it's too late. The tears are coming.
"Now!" That one's nearly enough to grind the whole service to a halt. He does the only thing he can think to do: tuck her under his arm, scurry through the aisle, and run.
He feels dizzy and especially winded by the time they reach the car, and he's not exactly sure why. All he knows is that Ciri needs to please stop crying for a moment so he can catch his breath. It must be a Yom Kippur miracle (do those exist?) when she relents, jerking a hand free and placing it against his cheek.
"Are you okay?" Her voice is so tiny he nearly doesn't hear it.
"I'm fine, kiddo, just gimme a sec." He leans heavily back against the car, Ciri still clung around his chest. The dizziness passes just as quickly as it came on, and he hurries home eagerly, relieved when Ciri dozes in the back seat.
They cozy up on the couch while Geralt mows the lawn outside, and spend the rest of their day off watching a movie - Ciri's choice, which is Moana, no surprise. He's sick to death of the movie but he sings along with every last song anyway. Damn that Lin-Manuel Miranda can write a catchy tune.
Jaskier has all but forgotten about the earlier dizzy spell when the front door clicks open and a very sweaty Geralt parades inside, Yennefer, fresh home from work, on his heel. Which is why he really doesn't understand what's happening when he rises to greet them and the whole room tilts with him. He wavers, eyes squeezed shut and hand pressed against his face in a desperate attempt to will his head to stop spinning. It's no use, and before he can even go to sit back down he's careening forwards.
His eyes fluttered open to a sharp prick on his hand, a high-pitched beep, and a total stranger hovering over him. He startled, fighting to prop himself up in a sitting position, but a firm hand he recognized could only be Geralt's forced him back to the ground.
"The fuck's going on?" He managed to ask, and his own voice sounded oddly far away. He scanned the room for clues as to what could possibly be happening and settled on Yennefer's face just as she shot him a glare that he knew translated to watch your language.
"You passed out, Jask." Geralt, somewhere overhead and out of view. "Hit your head good on the coffee table." Well, that would explain the pounding headache.
"And he is…?" He gestured vaguely at the stranger only visible in his peripheral.
"An EMT, sir," the man supplied, shifting back into view and shining a flashlight in his eyes.
"Ah." He blinked reflexively, wincing at the fingers that firmly held his eye open. "You didn't have to call an ambulance, you know."
"I didn't." Of course Geralt didn't, the man would probably gladly perform an appendectomy in the back of the bar at which he worked. It had to be Yennefer.
"Wasn't me." He considered for a moment if she could read his mind or if he was accidentally saying everything aloud before shakily remembering that he had a betrayingly expressive face. Well, if it wasn't Geralt, and it wasn't Yennefer…
"They taught us at school to call 911 if there's ever an emergency," Ciri casually explained. He couldn't help but smile. His little lion cub looking out for him, it made him feel warm.
"Alright," the paramedic commandeered his attention, helping shift him upright and propping him against the couch. "You're not diabetic, correct?" He nodded, which was a mistake, because silver stars erupted in his vision. "Your blood pressure is a little on the low side and you're pretty hypoglycemic. When did you last eat?" Oh, yeah. Fuck .
"Last night? It's Yom Kippur, I'm fasting…" He felt thoroughly, indescribably humiliated. He tries to be a good dad/surrogate Jew, and this is what he gets. As they say, no good deed goes unpunished.
"Happy new year," the EMT offered earnestly. A bottle was pressed into his hand, and he shakily raised it to his lips and drank without even questioning it. Whatever it was, it was incredibly sweet. "Some fast-acting carbs and a good meal should sort that out, but I'd still recommend you go in, just to rule out a concussion." He sipped some more on the mystery beverage and was fully prepared to politely decline when he felt small arms wrap around his shoulder.
"Fine." The second Jewish holiday in a row spent in the ER, just what he wanted . He was going to start racking up frequent flier miles if he kept it up. And all three of them accompanied him, evidence enough that he'd clearly rattled them. At least the doctor was sympathetic, suggesting he eat a bigger meal later at night next year. (Which was giving Jaskier a lot of credit, assuming there would be a next time.) He typed out sub plans on his phone while he waited for the discharge paperwork, knowing full well he wasn't making it to work the next morning. On the bright side, he didn't have a concussion after all.
Hanukkah was his chance to finally get it right. It was Jewish Christmas, right? And he'd always been pretty good at Christmas, so surely he'd nail this one. He dug around a few shops until he found a menorah he was fond of - cast in gold and decorated with music notes and a big treble clef - and proudly set it on the kitchen counter. He even bothered to watch a few YouTube videos of the blessings over the candles, so he'd nail the melody. Finally, he had to buy gifts. Eight of them. For three people. So, twenty-four gifts. He perused the dollar store, the budget section at Target, and every clearance section he came upon until he'd collected every last gift. Even wrapped them in paper adorned with little menorahs and dreidels.
The first night finally rolled along, and he could hardly contain himself. Ciri, too, was bursting with excitement; apparently Hanukkah was the one holiday her mother ever really bothered to celebrate with her. He wedged the first candle in place, carefully lit the shamash candle, and managed to return it to its spot without burning the house down. He led them in the two blessings without so much as a crack in his voice - plus shehecheyanu, which was reserved for the first night only (if reformjudaism.org was to be trusted, which he was sure it was) - and breathed a sigh of relief when even Geralt knew better than to blow out the candles.
Gift-giving was always one of his favorite aspects of Christmas, so watching his family tear into his tiny presents and enjoying a warm embrace from each was easily his favorite part of the evening. They played a rousing few rounds of dreidel, in which Ciri inevitably won every last piece of gelt. The latkes he'd picked up at the kosher market were delicious, and this time it didn't even take Yennefer to convince him not to try cooking them from scratch. The final piece of the puzzle was the box of jelly donuts he'd hidden away from Geralt all day.
And yet. Something was wrong, he felt like something had to be missing. It made him uneasy. So he finally did what he probably should've done to begin with; he reached out to a Rabbi.
"Are you looking to convert?" He was not prepared for the first question from the Rabbi - an older fellow named Levi with a gentle smile and kind eyes.
"I don't think so. I'm not really sure what I'm looking for. Just to give my daughter a connection to her heritage, I guess." He'd been caught up in the personal mission of it all, but that was truly all that mattered. "We've always kind of been the spiritual-not-religious type, Christmas-Easter only. I was hoping there was something like that in Judaism, but there's so much history. It's hard to keep track." Levi nodded sympathetically.
"Judaism is beautiful because we are more than a religion - we are a people." He smiled fondly. "If you ask me, I don't think there's a wrong way to be a Jew."
"Then how do I know I'm doing enough?" That's all he really ever wanted, was to be enough. For Ciri, for Geralt and Yennefer, for his parents, for his students. "Which holidays do I celebrate? Is it okay if I can't bake my own challah? Do I really need to drag her to Yom Kippur services? Should she be Bat Mitzvah'd?"
"You ask a lot of questions, young man," he chuckled,  and Jaskier felt his cheeks flush. "Is she happy?"
"Yes." That was at least an easy question to answer. Every step of the way, as overwhelmed and harried as he was, she was always a constant source of joy (or, at least, most of the time).
"Then there's your answer." There's his answer. Ciri is happy, and that's all that matters. Hanukkah 2018, it seems, was a success.

7 Things That Make A Great Kitchen Faucet
For most people, kitchen is not just a place for cooking. In the real life, we use our kitchens for relaxation, socializing, studies. Modern kitchens are also arranged accordingly to allow for multiple activities. They now accommodate not only the things we need for cooking and wash-up but also TVs, music centers, bookshelves, adjustable furniture and many more. The kitchens are different, and so are the things they are equipped with https://www.faucetguides.com .
But there is one thing that nearly every modern kitchen has. It is always there, silent and unpretentious. We usually take its existence for granted. Yet there is hardly any other thing that has as huge an impact on the overall quality of our kitchen.
A successful faucet makes the kitchen look great and function well. We love to stay longer in such a kitchen and come back more often. Or, on the contrary, when the faucet is a failure, we cannot love the kitchen quite as much.
I did an online research, compared the most popular models, read the product descriptions and customer reviews, and I found the seven things that make a great faucet.
1. A great kitchen faucet has a brand
Honestly, I do not understand why should anyone even consider a non branded faucet as an option. Do people think they are saving? But that is not true. In fact they are wasting big. The non branded faucets wear out soon. They break, drip, leak, waste the water and keep their owners busy and spending for good.
It is not just the name we are paying for. It is reliability, the newest technologies implemented, customer service ready to help in case we run into problems, warranty that for most faucets is lifetime. Save a few bucks and lose all these. Ready to go?
There is a wide choice of brands and manufacturers that make beautiful, efficient and reliable faucets. Just pick one according to your taste and needs. Just keep in mind that "Made in China" is not a brand name.
2. A great kitchen faucet harmonizes well with the interior of the kitchen
Well, you might think this aspect would have to come much lower in the list. Isn't the functionality and reliability much higher priorities? Yes, they are. But being functional and reliable is now really common for the faucets from all the respected brands. So design has become one of the most important factors determining the choice. Being confident in other things, we may now afford to view the faucets with much more relaxed eye and pay greater attention to the appearance.
The shapes are countless. At a closer look, however, five categories may be distinguished:
industrial nature inspired a fusion of the upper two retro modernist The modern industrial design mainly consists of strict cylindrical or conical shapes. Nature inspired designs resemble plants and nature objects. Not many faucets, however, feature such a pure style. Most often we meet a fusion of those two.
Retro faucets are continually popular and used for period style kitchens while modernist ones are equipped with unexpected combinations of springs, hooks and lots of other daring attributes and accessories. They both require a corresponding style kitchen and are much less of universal use than the simpler models.
3. A great kitchen faucet is easy to install and operate
Installation should not take more than 10 minutes for a person with very basic DIY skills, dismantling of the old faucet not included. Basically, it is getting the hoses through the hole in the sink or the countertop, putting the faucet in its place, fastening it from underneath with screwing on a nut (or nuts) and attaching the ends of the hoses to the warm and cold water supplies. There is normally no mess with tightening, rubber gaskets and similar things since the connections are now watertight as they are.
The handle adjusts temperature and the strength of the stream smoothly and precisely. It is possible to direct the stream all over the sink and even beyond.
In the faucets with detachable spray head the hose slides out with no effort. It does not touch the body of the faucet on the inside and easily runs through the bearings installed in the spout. The spray head reconnects with certainty, and there is never the feeling of it being loose. Some faucet models even use a strong magnet to hold the spray head in place.
Pull-down faucets normally use a spring that makes them return back to the holder when having been pulled out. In a good faucet, the spray head will tend to return back to the holder without being directed by the human.
The swiveling range is wide enough to position the spout in the exact position you want it to be.
4. A great kitchen faucet is leak free for lifetime
The business with changing washers and gaskets belongs to the past. The valves have evolved. Hard ceramic discs, in some cases covered with diamond, make the faucets practically impossible to wear out. They do not leak all through their lifetime, and the handle adjusts the temperature and stream very precisely.
5. A great kitchen faucet has a clearance that allows even the biggest pots and pans go under it
If a faucet is low, it does not necessarily mean that it is bad. Depending on the depth of the sink you may be still able to place quite large pots under it and wash. But due to limited height of the faucet, you may have to get it out of your way now and then. Not a big deal, I agree. But since you are now after a really great faucet, it may be worthwhile to get the largest kitchenware item that will be washed under this faucet, and measure how high the arch of the faucet needs to be to allow you the freedom of movement even when you are washing those large items.
But take care not to overdo. As in all situations, commonsense is a good adviser also here. If you, for example, have one huge size frying pan and all the other items are much smaller, choosing a faucet for the pan size may be an overkill.
6. The stream from a great kitchen faucet can be directed to any point in the sink and even beyond
It is convenient and speeds up the washing quite a lot if you are able to direct the stream of the water where you need it. Instead of juggling the pot under the spout, a good faucet will allow you to direct the stream itself.
The technologies used to achieve that may be different. I find that there is no uniform definition across the Internet as to what a pull-out or pull-down faucet is. I would call a faucet pull-out if its spray head can be detached from the spout and the hose slides out of it whereas a pull-down allows you to bow and bend the spout itself in the direction you want.
Only be careful since, as I said before, I find that the Internet stores do not use these terms consistently. Consult the available images instead. They will tell you at times much more about the faucet than its product description. You may ask what to do if the store has not provided an image for the item you consider buying. My answer would be: "Run!" Just run from there and never come back.
There are also faucets, the lower arch models as a rule, that manipulate the direction of the stream by turning a part of the nozzle. In certain situations, they too can be a good solution.
It is, after all, not the technology that determines whether the faucet is great or not. It is its ability to reach with the water stream all the spots you would need.
7. A great kitchen faucet is easy to clean
With just a few wipes of a sponge or cloth, we should be able to get the faucet clean. A good faucet does not develop stains that can be removed only with special cleaners. Fingerprints do not stay on it either.
Finally, I wish you to get your perfect faucet, install it and forget it so that it may do its humble job for years and turn your kitchen in an even nicer place without requiring any more attention from yourself.

"Her reputation going sour was no secret." – a line of interest from Ch1 of The Devil Wears a Suit and Tie. ;3 Just throwin’ that out there. Also! A definite nod to the cupcakery here, because headcanon: those recipes were taken from Drakken’s cookbook. Also headcanon: Drakken likes baking, fite me. This makes sense to me since Ron likes baking, and since Drakken’s shown interest in recipes.

[Chapter Guide]
7. Enabler – 4
As his first day alone in more than two weeks wore on, Dr. Drakken became increasingly aware he was off his game.
He haphazardly wrapped up the order of power staves and shipped them off to free up his schedule. Even left with a surplus of free time on his hands, left in the total privacy of his lab with no one to hover and no distracting upgrades to personalized combat gear to win himself brownie points, he made very little headway on his drones.
He managed to get one robot up and running, so to speak, but commands that seemed so simple like stand and walk just didn’t compute. Yet the buggy self-aware machine managed to rise on its own accord and point to the unassembled duplicates strewn about in a thousand different pieces on his worktable. Worst of all, the bare-bones robot began chanting, “sisters, sisters, sisters,” incessantly until something Drakken said or did caused its head to snap his direction. Preservation activated and an artificial fight or flight drive tripped, unfortunately geared toward fight. The skeletal droid abruptly announced him a threat to the sisters and lurched into action. Lucky for him, there was still a plug to pull.
He could have used some assistance in disabling the mutinous drone, but he managed on his own, as he always had. He shut down the project for the day to tend to a swollen lip received in the collision of steel knuckles and his face.
Back in his quarters, he couldn’t help casting glances to the phone, itching to dial – to dial someone. Anyone. He knew exactly who he wanted to ring up and give an earful to, but he clenched his fists and stamped a foot and grunted to himself as he stalked away from the landline. He had a headache and didn’t need to deal with her attitude now anyway.
Solitude was still disheartening. If he had expected a call from the runaway that evening to update him of her progress or lack thereof, or even to say goodnight or make small talk or anything at all, then he was sorely disappointed.
Drakken knew she wouldn’t have approved – in fact he was certain she would have been furious with him if she’d known – but he’d taken the liberty of sending out henchmen to gather intel on the superhuman. Granted, he’d lost those resourceful fellows, who’d only just returned from the assignment with their haul a day before getting the axe.
As Drakken lugged the overflowing box out of the storage room the next day, he reasoned with himself that he deserved to know who he’d been harboring, especially if he planned to continue to do so. He’d been just a little too wary to touch the box before, lest she pop up behind him to catch him red handed.
He deposited it on his coffee table and locked the door to his quarters for good measure, just in case the woman returned and came barging in at an especially undesirable time.
An abundance of manila folders stuffed with news articles topped the box, and if the men hadn’t already been fired, Drakken might have tipped whoever was responsible for courteously ordering the articles by date, even if he’d nearly scattered them as he unthinkingly tossed them aside while rummaging. VHS and cassette tapes at the bottom of the box made up the other half of the heft. Infiltrating a Global Justice base to steal her official records had been asking too much of the henchman, but an excess of media coverage to expose her would have to be good enough.
With the Bebe bots a bust and a woman who wasn’t even present distracting him still, Drakken settled in to squander his day reading what the sacked henchmen had scrounged up. He could spend an entire week reviewing her hero streak, reading the articles and watching the news reports or listening to interviews on tape, but he elected to skim through the past the four years worth of clippings, pulling out a folder from the bottom of the stack to begin.
A few nights ago, at three in the morning, he had been woken by the girl slamming his “front” door and stalking to his kitchen, the green embers glittering over her skin burning off perspiration and nearly setting her pajamas ablaze. She forwent a glass and drank straight from the faucet before hanging over his sink to hold her head under the stream of water, cursing about a comet. She’d looked just a little too unstable for him to hazard questioning her then, and had returned to his room to let her raid his kitchen for a midnight snack in peace.
So Dr. Drakken wasn’t altogether surprised when the earliest scant news coverage regarded a chip off a comet that had struck down in the suburbs of Go City. It had come so fast and so sudden that there had only been a couple blurry shots of the meteorite’s decent and recovery to accompany the articles. That it hadn’t left a bigger crater or caused fatalities was a mystery, but there was no mention of five quarantined adolescents caught up in the catastrophe either, so a cover-up wasn’t improbable.
Within the year, a trio of teenagers in uniform were garnering admiration of the general populace with their heroic feats. Front-page photos of a distantly familiar girl with her hair still short and boyish beside defeated villains bound up and posed with like trophies, frequently smiling smugly for the camera, should have been enough to make any villain in his right mind reconsider taking her in. Drakken wanted to believe he knew her better than that – that she wasn’t the vigilante she claimed she never wanted to be, and that there was no chance she might be on her way back to his lair with her teammates to hand his ass to him at any moment – but it wasn’t so easy.
Guiltily, he came realize that maybe she hadn’t been pulling his leg about her piloting capability after all when he found a clipping from last fall, featuring a photograph of a far more recognizable woman in uniform along with two young men like her in front of a jet as colorful as their suits, which had been generously donated to them by Global Justice. The Go Tower constructed in the bay a year earlier served as a monument and a base, and Dr. Drakken would be lying if he said he wasn’t a little envious that some superhuman youths had it all handed to them on a silver platter just for swearing an oath to use their gifts for good.
The set of gloves he’d fashioned paled in comparison to the extravagant gifts from Global Justice and Go City. Clearly, giving her things was no way to win her allegiance, because the girl’s hero career had been short-lived. She’d served little more than three years. If she’d only abided by their rules, she could have been living it up, yet she’d formally quit her team months ago.
As of this year, there was a marked change in the tone of the headers. There was less and less praise to be found, until there was next to none at all. If he’d been hoping to find reassurance she was genuinely a bad seed, he got it, though snooping made him feel worse with each article he skimmed over.
Nasty gossip sprung up like weeds. Disbelief and speculation aplenty could be found in clippings from newspapers and magazines as to why she’d abandoned her occupation as a beloved hero. The supply of libel following her resignation was endless. If he had to guess, serving under Global Justice had kept such publications suppressed before, but she’d lost that perk when she put her foot down on doing their bidding.
Blasting scandalous, one popular rumor circulated that she’d withdrawn because she was a typical case of irresponsible teen pregnancy, such negligence marking her unfit to be a role model any longer. That she was still occasionally seen in uniform despite her quitting should have proven she wasn’t expecting – but instead it inspired ridicule and controversy over endangerment and abortion. There was no wining on that front without a good lawyer, which he doubted the girl behind the mask could afford without Global Justice’s charity.
That lost traction when the former hero lashed out at a news reporter on live television. Written accounts played it off as if it had been unprovoked, but Dr. Drakken found a tape on the incident at the bottom of the box that proved otherwise. He was hesitant to hit play on the copy of the broadcast. The masked young woman trying to escape a bombardment of questions was hard to watch as she was confronted by the press with the matter of substance abuse, among other things, all because marijuana was said to be smelled on her clothes. Once detox was mentioned, the cornered superhuman – disheveled and fresh out of an unsanctioned battle – lost her cool and attacked the reporter outright. It was all caught on camera until she was swept away screaming profanities by her gorilla of a brother.
Less than a month later, paparazzi spotted her outside of her hero attire, a familiar ponytail and mismatched boots enough to give her away. It was bad enough she was recognized without her uniform and mask, but she was caught smoking with some punks on a school campus. The snapshot was fuzzy, and there was no way to distinguish what was probably only a cigarette from anything else, but nevertheless it brought an impending graduation into question.
It did not help when some wacked-out addict, an unreliable source if there ever was one, came forward claiming to have taught her the art of cooking meth. The junkie was later found battered and left on the steps of a rehab center. Her signature plasma burns left on the man sparked ever more gossip as to her changing demeanor and bad habits.
On the hero scene, Shego had been golden – but after quitting, the press wasted no time in tarnishing her reputation. Her worsening temper and foul mouth didn’t help the backlash. Her name had been drug through the mud over the past six months, with only a few gems of praise from faithful groupies to be found among the stack of slander.
Dr. Drakken wouldn’t be surprised if it was all true, even the conspiracy theories mixed in about her being from another planet.
"This is why I don't like the hero scene. Everyone knows everything," she’d told him the night he’d found her wandering down a highway in the dark. He hadn’t had much to lose that night when he went with a gut feeling and sprung the proposition on the downtrodden young woman, but whether or not it was the right decision remained to be seen.
Given the stress of the media hounding her every move, both on and off duty, and the family turmoil he’d witnessed from a distance, Dr. Drakken had to bottle his pity for how discontent the runaway must have been to actually jump in a car with an utter stranger and just go.
Before the guilt of prying could get to him too badly, he called it quits and stuffed everything back into the box, double-checking the VCR to be sure he didn’t forget anything she might find later. She’d made it explicitly clear she didn’t want him digging into her past. Even if the box contained publicly available media – for the most part – going through it left a bad taste in his mouth, as if he’d been reading her diary.
Despite the evidence he had that she was indeed a bad apple with a slim chance of returning to her old life, it still felt unwise to put everything on the line for an ex-hero that could easily thwart his plans from the inside. Drakken sat back and shut his eyes, straining to take her words to heart no matter how difficult it was to do so.
“Trust her,” he snorted. “Trust her to what? Bring her brothers to my doorstep?”
But then, he supposed she could have done that already. If she’d wanted to stop him before he could become a major threat, she could have cornered him back in Go City, when she had her team close by to back her up. And even once she was in the lair, she’d had ample time to call in the hounds, and plenty of opportunity to hack into his computers to uncover any master plans, yet she hadn’t busted him yet.
Drakken slumped with his head thrown back over the spine of the couch, stewing a short while on how trustworthy this new partner of his really was, before tuning in to Go City broadcasts to watch the news. She’d only been gone about thirty hours, but he still waited with the bleak expectation to hear some breaking news announcement of her return to the metropolis, anticipating it to be a reason to rejoice. None came, but it still served to worry him.
Leaving the television on, he gave it just a little longer as his stomach drew him toward his kitchen. He’d never had breakfast. He wasn’t even sure if he’d had dinner yesterday. The phone drew his eye though, and he forcibly looked away from it and to the fridge as he took inventory. It was getting a tad late to start on any lab projects, and he could still taste a sore reminder of yesterday’s mishap on his lip.
A check through his cookbook and he found himself gravitating back toward the phone once again. He grudgingly made a call, although it wasn’t the number his fingers itched to dial, and greeted his mother with a weary, “Hello,” and waited for the next half hour for the woman’s exuberance to die down enough to get a word in edgewise.
“That one?” chirped his mother. “Honey, are you feeling alright?”
Drakken blinked and sucked on his split lip. “Relatively speaking,” he slipped. He fished out his notebook and spread it open, eager to get the call over with. “Um. The market will be closing soon,” he lied. “So can I get that recipe?”
“Only if you call me later to tell me how they turn out,” the woman haggled haughtily.
“I’ve made devil’s food before, mother,” he sighed, drumming his pen on the pad. He noticed the pages of memos on the recent gloves and flipped to a fresh page with a small snort.
“Not with my recipe, you haven’t,” chided the woman, and proceeded to let him in on the family secrets in detail. Word for word, he copied down the recipe she knew by heart, running the instructions and ingredients by her once before thanking his mother and heading out the door.
By midnight, a sweet tooth had been satisfied, but sitting alone at the counter with a warm devil’s food muffin drizzled with chocolate ganache just brought his awareness to a weird sort of cavity he wasn’t unfamiliar with but had been successful in ignoring for years – until now, apparently.
He decided he’d have to tell his mother about the muffins tomorrow. It was late, and if he dared pick up the phone now, he might dial the wrong number accidentally on purpose.
The third day alone wasn’t any more productive than the last, but at least he didn’t spend it holed up in his quarters gorging on muffins. True, he’d slept through his alarm, but he gave himself the excuse that it was Sunday, and he’d spent the latter half of his night lying wide awake staring at his ceiling in a vain effort to get some shut eye.
He could tell himself all he wanted that fresh air would do him some good, but it was a lie. Testing out a back-burner product on new targets the henchmen had been tasked to whip up did little to improve his mood. The vaporizing rifle prototype did its job fine, obliterating the targets, though the sight was off and it really needed work to fix an issue of kickback that just about dislocated his shoulder.
Other than taking down a couple memos to be sure he did that, he didn’t make any progress to speak of on his projects. The random destruction of dummies and henchmen fearing they’d be the next targets did little to inspire him and get his head back in the game.
He knew exactly who to blame for it, too. Little ol’ her was a troublesome woman. Though he wasn’t sure if he was worried for her wellbeing – maybe a little, but maybe not – he was certainly stressed enough worrying about the potential consequences letting her go could have. The thorn in his side wasn’t even here and she had him more distracted and frazzled than ever.
Drakken shoved the elaborate rifle into the hands of the henchman on standby and ordered him to return the contraption to the closet, but the henchman didn’t march off immediately, and instead asked something as daringly out of line and ludicrous as, “Rough breakup?” Which sent Drakken reeling as if he’d been cut, and he vehemently ordered the goon to get a move on if he didn’t want to be booted along with the rest.
He ate another damn muffin for lunch, knowing damn well the sweet confection wouldn’t improve his bitter mood.
When the phone rang, he was all too quick to dive for it. Answering was a mistake, and he struggled with the balance of taking bites of savory chocolate and holding a conversation with his nosy mother. She accused him of being upset and went through a list of every likely reason why, and he denied every possibility. If the nagging didn’t alleviate the loneliness somewhat, he would have hung up.
“It’s a girl, isn’t it?” his mother finally guessed, and Drakken had to bite his tongue and hold the phone out lest she hear his weary groan. No matter how wildly far off the mark she was, it was an inevitable question she always fired off at some point – only this time, maybe for the first time in history, she was actually right. Sort of. But he sure wasn’t going to admit that.
“No, mother,” he droned. “It’s just been a rough week,” he assured her for the umpteenth time. It really hadn’t been. Slaving over unique gloves had actually been quite rewarding, the worst part of the week being the part where his car got hijacked and he was left worrying if the new recruit would be friend or foe when she came back, if she came back at all.
After the phone call, he eyed the plate of delectable muffins sitting out on the counter, and decided it best to stow the remaining half dozen of them in the refrigerator out of sight before he could make himself sick.
The next day, Drakken was drilling it into his own head that he didn’t miss having anyone to hover, breathe down his neck, or criticize him as he tinkered with the fine inner workings of a robot brain. If he could only get the droids up and running like half-operational human beings, the Bebes would theoretically fill the human need for company. And even if they didn’t, he still had three organic subordinates – the henchmen – to fall back on. He didn’t need a snarky girl leaning on him and giving him sass trying to get his goat.
His lip was curled at the very thought of someone breaching his personal bubble uninvited when suddenly his subject booted up. It took him a second of staring back at the robot before the Bebe blinked mechanically and he leapt back. What really scared the bejeebers out of him was the fact the android hadn’t even been plugged in to a power source. Before she could fully start up, he reached into the Bebe’s cranium to pull out the CPU to put her to sleep for a nice long while until he was ready to deal with self-aware robots sporting hyperactive preservation drives again. The other two dormant severed heads received the same treatment just to be on the safe side.
His heart was still thudding from the first surprise when he received another unwelcomed jolt.
The room flashed red and a bone-rattling siren buzzed to announce a threat. Either someone had sounded the alarm, something had been tripped, or something malfunctioned. Whatever the case, he was in too much of a foul mood to be pleased by the uncharacteristically swift response of two of his henchmen cutting through the lab with their staves ready.
False alarms were more common than not at this point. There must have been one at least once a month for the past year since establishing his Nevada lair.
Dr. Drakken cast aside his tools and replaced his goggles with his eyeglasses, ready to storm out after the goons to find out what the hullaballoo was all about. It was probably just another unfortunate raccoon stuck in the fence.
Before he could take three steps from his work station, a henchman’s voice crackling over the intercom made him jump once more. “Dr. Drakken, sir, you’re needed outside,” came the urgent summon, and Drakken heard a thunderous snarl booming before the intercom clicked off.
It certainly didn’t sound like snared wildlife.
The insistent siren alone induced a dreadfully unwanted adrenaline rush, urging him to hurry and shut the alarm off at the lab desk. Even without the blaring system that had left his ears ringing, he swore he could still feel a rumble under his feet, and cast a nervous glance upwards at the stalactites holding steady before he exited the lab.
He all but ran down to the garage. The second he opened the door and stomped out from the foyer, he heard the rumble of a jet engine dying down to a whine, and if he didn’t associate the sound with military, he might not be so concerned of the trouble that could be brewing.
The thought that he should have brought a weapon with him was fleeting.
Before he could make it outside to search the sky for the source of the rumble, his jaw dropped.
He wasn’t anticipating a jet to come rolling out of the dark and into the half-lit hangar, the wingspan barely making it through the broad garage door. The flashy new sky beast sported multicolored streaks and bolts, and as it came to a stop in the middle of the scrap-filled warehouse, it dawned on Drakken exactly where it had come from. He’d seen that jet before in a photograph just the other day.
As his men rushed in after the aircraft in the hot wake of the engines, their electrified rods raised in defense, Drakken stormed toward it, his livid glare locked on the single figure onboard.
The top popped and rose with a hiss to reveal the pilot, whose hands were held up in peace for a moment to give the henchmen pause before the intruder pulled off the helmet and mask. The aloof subordinate stood up in the cockpit, shook out her hair, and shot an outrageously smug smirk to Dr. Drakken.
++X++
Shego slid down from the body of the aircraft and didn’t have a chance to appreciate solid ground or even utter a greeting before Dr. Drakken reached her, and she could only stare in a surprised stupor as he raised a hand at her.
Next she was wide-eyed in shock and reaching up for the sting across her cheek. It hadn’t hurt, but it didn’t change the fact he’d slapped her. She was taken aback for a moment. “What was that?” she blurted, turning a sneer back to him. “You hit like a baby!” Honestly, her baby brothers had whopped her worse than that.
And what was that he’d said about the next man to lay a hand on her?
She could get him back later, she decided, because she was pleased to be back regardless of his indiscernible sputtering and tantrum. Though she couldn’t pretend to understand what had his panties in a twist. She’d kept her word, hadn’t she?
What she could do was chortle when the fuming man made a grab for her before he could calm down enough to think twice. It was hard to hold him at fault when he was a villain and had likely conditioned himself to act out, assuming he wasn’t already violent by nature, but she wouldn’t hesitate to teach him not to take out that temper on her if he pushed his luck any further.
Curious if he would however, she let him catch her roughly by the arm. But Drakken faltered once he had her – it was clear he hadn’t expected it to be that easy, or maybe some sense caught up to him – and his moment of surprise made it easy for her to pull her arm away.
Catching him off guard, she slipped behind his back. Her hands snuck up his suit jacket to find the back pockets of his trousers, making him jump. His yelp wasn’t particularly masculine.
“Yoink,” she chirped, making off with his wallet as the startled man swung around.
Shego impishly remained two steps ahead of Dr. Drakken in pursuit of her, purely for the sake of egging him on although he was clearly riled up enough. She stole a gander at his driver’s license as she shuffled backwards. “Andrew?” she snorted. He sputtered something with a note of embarrassment and lunged for it. She jumped back, plucked a twenty from the wallet, and finally surrendered it.
Drakken roughly snatched his wallet back from her outstretched hand, still practically shaking in his tantrum, a funny shade of purple creeping over his face. The indignant doctor barked her name furiously and lurched toward her again, but she leapt back out of reach for good measure.
“Missed me, missed me,” she sang childishly, skipping back and smiling wryly at the hotheaded man.
He wasn’t calming down, none too pleased to be played with. Before she could knock it off on her own accord, Dr. Drakken gnashed his teeth and finally exploded something coherent, “SEIZE HER!”
To which Shego cocked a brow, and before she knew it, she was being restrained and shoved to her knees by a pair of henchmen, her arms twisted and secured behind her back. She knew she could still get the better of them, but she chose not to fight it as she watched suspiciously, once again curious to see just what Dr. Drakken thought he was going to do. She was done playing now though. Did he really think she would accept being slapped and manhandled, just like that? With him glaring as harshly as he was, she had half a mind to spit plasma at him when he stalked up to her.
The mad scientist opened his mouth and raised a finger to lay into her verbally when she sighed heavily and relaxed against the henchmen’s clutches. “Okay,” she began. “So I lost your car, but I got the jet, didn’t I?”
Drakken’s purple-faced humiliation and anger ebbed as he threw a glance back, and his rigid shoulders slumped. She could see his temper cooling he studied the aircraft parked in his garage. She’d stayed true to her word, but it seemed like he was only just now registering that she had in fact brought him a jet.
“Where did you get it?” he quizzed suspiciously as he turned back to eyeball her. Just about anyone else would have received plasma to the face for eyeing her body, but Shego had the funny feeling he was looking less at her figure and more at her pristine new uniform she’d stolen from the Go Tower – although the nature of his stare made it only slightly less unnerving.
“Just something from home,” she said flippantly, fixing a wry smile on her face.
“You stole tech from Global Justice,” he uttered.
“Not really, I mean – it was a gift,” she grumbled, casting her eyes down. That didn’t change the fact that big brother monitored its usage.
Drakken must have realized that, because his eyes shot wide in dismay an instant before the anger from moments ago boiled back to the surface. “They can track it here!” he gasped in alarm as he whirled on the threat in his lair.
Shego, on the other hand, lacked the same fear. The fact she remained unbothered seemed to enough to distress him.
“Cool the engines, Dr. D,” she called nonchalantly before he could fret over how to get a beacon out of his lair. “I squashed a few bugs, snipped a few wires. Give me some credit. I’m not just another stupid thug here.” He looked back to her as she nodded back to the henchmen holding her to make a point, but it hardly calmed him.
She tried to add a smile and a cheery on top, “Oh, and – it can hover. It’s a hover jet. Far out, right?” She was really quite proud of herself, and couldn’t help beaming as she patiently waited to be commended. An order for her release would be nice, at least.
Dr. Drakken stepped back from her and ran a hand down his face. He held it over his mouth and stifled a whine, and Shego noticed he looked almost pained as he glanced back to the stolen mass of technology. “Release her,” he grunted to his men with a dismissive wave, and stalked away to go inspect the aircraft. As Shego crept up carefully behind him, she heard him muttering incredulously to himself, “I can use this. I can really use this.”
“So, uh,” she started, and he flashed a glower back at her over his shoulder. She smiled sheepishly. “Does this make up for taking off and losing your car?” She decided, maybe, he didn’t need to know yet that she’s driven it off a pier and sank it in the ocean in the heat of the moment whilst fleeing the police earlier. She hoped there hadn’t been anything important in it.
Dr. Drakken surveyed her, his brow creased and his expression that of indecision as he considered the loss of his car in return for the multi-million-dollar aircraft. He settled for giving Shego’s shoulder a ginger pat. “I think I’ll keep you,” he said finally.

Half-Bathroom Remodeling Design Guide
Whether you are completing a half-bathroom remodeling project in your current home, or designing your half-bath for a new home, there are several considerations you should take to ensure the project is executed seamlessly.
Tumblr media
Will You Need a Plumber or Contractor?
Typically a bath-remodel involves removing old and adding new fixtures like a toilet or sink, so you will want to hire a professional plumber or contractor to make sure the remodel is completed safely and up to code. They will help plan out your design to minimize the chances of anything going awry and certified to complete the project. Make sure to read reviews and ask the contractor about previous work to ensure they are qualified.
Elements to Consider in Your Half-Bath Remodel
There are several categories of consideration when completing your remodel or design project. Remember, a half-bath is often near public spaces, so having proper ventilation and a loud fan is a necessity. Besides this, you can upgrade your tile and/or flooring, cabinetry, fixtures like your toilet sink and faucet, and other features for accessibility and function such as placement of your towel rack.
TILE AND FLOORING
Tile is a great option for your half-bathroom. Using larger tiles can make a small bathroom seem bigger. Ceramic tile and natural stone are two popular options. You can also opt to have heated tiles to keep your feet warm on cold mornings. (You will want to make sure to have these on an automatic timer so they begin warming up before your morning bathroom routine.)
CABINETRY AND COLOR
Having some cabinets in your half-bathroom design is useful for storage and keeping the room orderly. Keep in mind though, you often do not store personal products in a half-bathroom, as these are typically stored in a full bathroom or closet. You may still want to keep cleaning products in a cabinet under the sink. Or, if you opt for pedestal or wall-mount sink to save space in your half-bath, you can keep cleaning products in the laundry room or another area.
White and lighter colors are typically best to use in bathrooms. A colored accent wall can add a “pop” to your bathroom. But keep in mind that deep colors can often make the room feel smaller and closed-in. Using lighter colors is often a best practice in half-bathroom remodeling projects.
BATHROOM FIXTURE UPGRADES
Updating your toilet, sink, faucet, and lighting will typically make your half-bath seem more modern and functional.
Sinks
A pedestal sink can help you save room in a small space.
A wall-mounted sink will help you save even more space and simply mounts to the wall.
Undermount sinks work well with marble or stone countertops and attach to the cabinet below the sink.
Drop-in sinks attach from the countertop of the sink. There are often budget-friendly options for drop-in sinks.
Vessel bathroom sinks are free-standing basins that sit on top of counters. This makes your sink look separate from the vanity itself and gives the room more form.
You will also want to consider the type of faucet that will work best for your half-bath, as well as lighting options.
ACCESSIBILITY AND FUNCTION
Don’t forget to consider things like towel racks, hooks and where these should be placed to maximize function. If you do need storage space in your bathroom, consider wall cabinets or a sink that allow for storage underneath.

Weinstein Kitchen & Bath Showroom in Broomall can assist you with your bathroom remodeling project. Decent Performance

CHECK WHETHER THERE ARE ENOUGH HOLES IN YOUR SINK FOR FAUCETS.
Normally, your kitchen sink will have pre-drilled mounting holes dedicated to kitchen faucets and other handy attachments. If you are planning to buy the best faucet for your existing sink, you must consider whether it will fit in the sink. If not, you may need to make some adjustments before buying You should have a base plate on top of the sink if you want to hide a hole. Many models come with a base plate by default. Be careful not to buy a kitchen faucet with more holes than your current sink can handle. Drilling extra holes is expensive and unnecessary for this product. Try honestly.
2. STYLES AND SHAPES OF SPOUT
Straight spouts are known for their compactness and affordability. Yet users find it hard to fill large pots with water. In contrast high clearances are the main advantage of gooseneck kitchen faucets. Yet it also means that there will be more splashing. The shallower your sink is, the more you will splash. You will have to deal with splashing. It is best not to splash you directly in the face. For aesthetic reasons, you should pick a sink that fits your sink size. Small sinks don’t seem right with big water faucets and vice versa. inversion.
3. THE EASE OF INSTALLATION AND REPAIR
It is worth noting that it is easier to change kitchen faucets and sinks together when you can set the faucets first and install the sink later. Connection fittings that users may perform using a screwdriver also make it simpler to setup. It’s best to go for long supply lines. Since they are deeper in the cabinet, it allows for easy installation. And if problems arise, you will have no other support from the maker than replacement components. So you can install them on your faucets.
4. DIFFERENT TYPES OF FINISH
The most affordable faucets are solid. These finishes are typically laden with metal atoms that interact with the base metal’s exterior through physical vapor deposition (PVD).
Nickel and bronze finishes resist scratches, but can be stained by a scouring pad. Stainless steel is long-lasting and resists scratching and stains. Bronze is an affordable, rustic finish that gives out a certain vibrancy. It also has better PVD interaction than other finishes.
5. TEMPERATURE SETTING
We love that several one-handle faucets can keep a certain temperature even when users switch off the units. The feature is a great help if they use the faucets on a regular basis, and do not want to have to adjust the temperature several times. You can look at the specifications or To know what the product description says, look for this function.
6. MAGNETIC DOCKING
If you have a pull-out kitchen faucet, you probably need this. When you pull out the spray nozzle with a regular mechanism, it won’t return to its original locked place. A magnetic docking fixes that problem.
7. SPRAY AND STREAM ALTERNATION
You will like the models with buttons that are on the side or on top of the spray head. You can go between spray modes without having to manually change it throughout cycles.
8. ADDITIONAL SIDE SPRAYER
You probably have some holes left in your kitchen faucet after installing just one or two-handle faucets. That’s when you can think about adding a second sprayer to the kitchen faucet for added convenience. The setup is quite simple and there’s tons of information on the Internet for you. Internet.
FACTORS TO CONSIDER WHEN BUYING A KITCHEN FAUCET.
Faucets come in a wide variety of styles, finishes, and finish compatibility. When buying a new faucet there are various factors to consider:
1. MATERIAL
The most common types of materials for kitchen faucets are ceramic disc valves, metal/stainless steel valves, and plastic valves.
2. TYPE
The two main types of kitchen faucets are pullout and deck mounted. The difference is whether the spout needs to be attached with a long handle or it needs only to be pulled out from under the sink top.
3. CAPACITY
This means how much water pressure each unit can handle before dripping occurs. For a normal household, a minimum of 1.8 GPM is necessary; however 2 GPM is recommended as this helps conserve both water and energy usage. 1.5 GPM or less should be used for homes with low water pressure. WaterSense certification.
4. SPRAY
A high-arc spout is great if you want to fill a pot or other container, but not so good when trying to rinse off dishes in the sink. Conversely, a low-arc spout could be excellent for doing dishes and bad for filling pots because it has a smaller radius, making it more difficult to wash articles in the sink. A pullout spray head allows you to either use the sprayer by itself or attach it with the hose. When filling the sink with water, push the button to activate the faucet. If you will be mostly using your sink’s spray function, you can save time by pulling back on the hose instead of moving it forward and back.
5. CENTERS PER MINUTE (GPM)
To measure the speed at which water flows out of the faucet, place a ruler across the spout. When it’s time to use more water, you’ll be able to tell how long you had been using too little.
6. SPRAY CONTROL
If you want a faucet attached to your sink, this is important to consider. There are two types: single handle and pull-down faucets. The only has one knob controlling both the flow of water and the sprayer while a pull-down model has separate knobs for controlling each function.
7. POT FILLER
To make sure your kitchen counters are not damaged by hot pots or excessive water pressure, it is important to choose a faucet that can attach to the wall behind the sink. It does not attach above the sink, so you can fill large pots with ease.
8. TOUCHLESS FUNCTION
The more popular it becomes, the easier it is to turn on the water using your fingers instead of using a faucet. This is good for people who do not want to spread bacteria with their hands!
9. OVERALL HEIGHT
The height of the unit should be over your kitchen sink by at least 10 inches. If the faucet is too low, water will splash out.
10. SPOUT REACH
The length of the sprayer will affect its reach. A longer sprayer will allow more reach but may not fit well in smaller kitchens.
11. SPOUT HEIGHT
The end of your spout should be approximately at the same level as your faucet handle base. This will ensure that it doesn’t splash or splatter too much when you turn on your sink.
12. NUMBER OF HANDLES
If you want separate controls over hot and cold water, this is a factor to consider. If one of you wants hot and the other wants cold, let them know so they can adjust accordingly!
13. FLOW RATE
Your faucet runs at a particular speed depending on its rating. If you need a fast flow rate for other tasks, look for a pullout sprayer instead.
14. FINISHES
Decorative finishes are aesthetic considerations. If you want a particular look or color, it is best to consider this before heading to your local hardware store.
15. MOUNTING TYPE
There are three types of faucets: deck mount, wall mount, and widespread. The first is mounted on the top of the sink while the latter two attach from either side. Check where yours currently sits!
16. EXISTING PLUMBING
If you need to change your sink faucet, it’s best to address these issues first. If the shutoff valves are too close to your current sink, for example, a swivel spout can make things much easier!
17. RANGE AND FLOW
If you need a specific range (less than 1 inch or up to 3), make sure your faucet can accommodate this thickness. Overall water pressure must also be considered, since it relates directly back to gallons per minute; higher water pressure will require larger rates.
18. AERATOR
This is the part that affects the rate of water coming out of your faucet. A non-removable aerator provides a stronger flow of water, which is great for household tasks.
When choosing a kitchen faucet, there are many factors to consider. Make sure to check off each one before you make your decision. If you need help finding the right one for your needs, contact your local hardware store or ask around at your local home center. The information below should guide you in making the choice that’s best for you. When selecting the right faucet for you, it is important to test the water flow.
19. NUMBER OF HOLES
If you want both hot and cold handles, include an empty hole for later installation of a spray nozzle.

A TYPICAL KITCHEN FAUCET CONSISTS OF AN AERATOR CONNECTED
A sink faucet consists of a cylindrical spout with a handle attached to the end. It also includes one or more rubber gaskets that contain water when you pull it up and that stop water from going down when you push it down. Additional valves may exist under the sink that allow for movement in either direction, depending on the pressure in the pipes. For more control over which parts are turned on or off.
8. WHAT IS THE HISTORY OF THE KITCHEN FAUCET?
The first kitchen faucet was created in 1845 by Thomas E. Warren, and it included a single valve that opened and closed water flow to the faucet as well as turned on and off a sprayer head. This design did not become popular until 1886 when Henry Suter created his own model. These designs can be seen as teardrop shapes, and they have two levers: one to activate the hot water and another to activate the cold water. These designs continued to evolve over time resulting in more widespread use today.
9. WHEN WAS THE KITCHEN FAUCET INVENTED?
The first modern kitchen faucet was invented around 1840. It was not popular until 1886, when Henry Suter created his own model with an oblique teardrop shape and separate levers for hot and cold water. Water. These designs continued to evolve over time, resulting in more widespread use today.
THE FAUCET HAS CHANGED OVER TIME.
The evolution of the kitchen faucet can be traced back to 1840 during the Victorian era, but it became widely used after Henry Suter’s invention in 1886. Modern designs include a spout with flexible hose-like features instead of having a sharp point for better rinsing and draining. This dish dries quickly and must be washed several times to remove the leftover water. It is easy to fold and store for future use.
11. WHAT DO KITCHEN FAUCETS DO?
Faucets are used in the kitchen for washing dishes, vegetables, and other foods. They are useful for rinsing fruits and vegetables under running water to reduce their exposure to toxins. It’s important to use the right temperature all the time, because cooking oils may build up over time if not used regularly. Wash your hands with hot water. Hot water will kill bacteria that cause foodborne illness like salmonella and E Coli. Cold water is best for removing dirt because it does not dry out hands as quickly as hot water; warm tap water works well for most routine handwashing needs though.
12. WHY SHOULD I BUY A KITCHEN FAUCET?
A kitchen faucet is needed if you want to save water and wash dishes without wasting it. Also, a kitchen faucet looks good in the kitchen or blends in with the decor of your home.
WHAT ARE THE MAJOR KITCHEN FAUCET MATERIALS?
There are many different materials that kitchen faucets can be made from, but metal and copper tend to be the most popular. Metal kitchen faucets offer a sleek look while copper ones add a sense of elegance to any home. The metal alloy is bonded with other metals such as nickel and chromium. The stainless steel finish of this item is durable. Stainless steel also delivers on durability and offers a modern, sleek design and neutral color. These units do not corrode or rust over time, so they deliver on long-lasting use.
A KITCHEN FAUCET HAS MANY BENEFITS
Faucets are just as durable as other types of plumbing fixtures – but have more high-tech features. The dual spray systems allow you to avoid wasting time, because you can focus water on dishes without wasting time by using less maneuvering. In addition, many faucets may be used with dishwashers and washing machines. Use filtered water so you don’t have to worry about chlorine impurities and dirt clouding your clean dishes. Don’t forget about different finishes and styles either of kitchen faucets come in different designs, colors, and finishes. Some of them are more modern while others are transitional. For buyers who want something traditional, this is the way to go.
15. WHERE CAN I FIND KITCHEN FAUCETS?
Kitchen faucets are easy to find at home improvement stores or online because they are popular fixtures in most homes across the country. Chain stores often carry different types of units that fit into specific budgets, but homeowners can also find unique high-end models on sites like eBay. If a product is not available at your local store, you could pick up the item on eBay or Craigslist. Many retailers offer online shopping with free shipping too; this is a great perk for customers looking for an item that is not available in their local store.
THERE ARE DIFFERENT TYPES OF KITCHEN FAUCETS AVAILABLE
There are four basic types of kitchen faucet designs: one handle for hot water and one handle for cold water, two separate handles on the side of the spout, or a single handle with a pull-out spout. Side-handled designs consist of two separate handles side by side. The single-handled design commonly has a spout that pulls out from the wall to make refilling easier.
A single handle should be in the center of the faucet. A dual-handled faucet has two controls, usually located on opposite sides of the sink to turn hot and cold water on. Both controls need to be operated in order to change either setting. Pull-out kitchen faucets are attached to the end of a hose that can be pulled out over the sink or extended away from it. This design allows for easier cleaning of unused areas of the sink bowl especially around the drain area.
17. WHAT MAKES UP A KITCHEN FAUCET?
Here is a list of devices that may be found in a kitchen:
There are three ways to connect potable water to your home: hot water pipes, cold water pipes, and possibly shared hot and cold lines.
The spout is located in the base of the pitcher. It has a valve that controls water flow.
The faucet body is the part of the faucet that connects water supply lines to the bottom half of the spout.
The spout is a separate piece from the faucet body, or it is combined with it.
The connector holds the spout in place for pouring. The spout rotates in 360-degree motion when attached to the bottom of the faucet.
The faucet controls the flow of water coming out of the spout. There are various types of faucets, including single handled and dual-handled faucets.
HOW IS A KITCHEN FAUCET DIFFERENT FROM A BATHROOM SINK?
There are subtle differences between kitchen and bathroom sinks. For instance, most kitchen sinks have one hole at their center for an uninterrupted stream of water as opposed to two holes on each side found in bathrooms. Kitchen faucets also tend to have a higher arc, or taper, which makes them more difficult for children to use. The way the word “sinks” is written is confusing to me. It looks like it says “sink”, but if you read it as one word, it makes more sense: the smaller sink (basin) requires a higher pressure from its water faucet. Some kitchen sink models even have pull-out sprayers for additional convenience.
Double-handled or single-handled designs are considered to have the best balance of strength and versatility in either hot or cold water, with one handle for each. Single-handled or pullouts are considered less aesthetic options that may not have as much build quality due to being solely focused on visual appeal. Before switching to a new dish, turn off the side-handled faucet so you do not waste water. This will save water and prevent waste.
20. WHO MANUFACTURES KITCHEN FAUCETS?
There are various companies that specialize in manufacturing kitchen faucets for household use. The following list includes some of the top manufacturers with their pros and cons:
Delta – Delta offers a variety of both pullout and single-handle types with high water pressure to make cleaning easier. Customers like their lifetime warranty covering all parts, assuring years of reliable service. One customer complains about their chrome finish, but I think most people prefer the stylish look of stainless steel over the duller appearance of chrome. The Delta has been discontinued, and the Moen has been merged with it.
Moen– Moen is perhaps the best-known company in the industry due to their wide range of products and reasonable prices. The top line (Ascent) comes with a lifetime warranty on all parts, but are only compatible with certain sink types.
Water Creation– This company specializes in wide-ranging models which provide a continuous stream of water from the faucet. The design is less intuitive to operate, since each handle has its own set of movements.
Pfister– Like Water Creation Pfister is known for widely-designed faucets that allow water to flow through with little obstruction. Their luxury designs are for those who want to upgrade their kitchen faucet.
DO YOU NEED ANY SPECIAL TOOLS TO REPLACE THE FAUCET?
A replacement faucet requires an adjustable wrench and some plumber’s putty in order to properly seal the spout onto the body of the faucet. A basin wrench would also be useful for removing older sinks from their pre-existing holes. Some companies offer specialty tools for this purpose. Tools such as sink sprayers will require a new hole drilled into the sink bowl if necessary.
HOW DO YOU PUT A NEW FAUCET IN THE KITCHEN?
If you want new faucets, you first remove the old ones and clean the area around them. The plumber installs a putty that is applied to both spouts and then tightens them with an adjustable wrench. Afterward the water lines are hooked up before replacing your old faucets. Confirm that there are no leaks coming from the faucet. Consult the faucet for leaks and ensure that there are none.
A sprayer bowl-mounted sink also needs two small holes drilled into the bowl, one on each side for the hose to connect to. Glue is then mixed to fill in the holes, and the tubing is inserted through its hole inside the cabinet. Make sure that everything is secure. Thread each leaf onto the wire stem.
WILL I NEED ANY ADDITIONAL PARTS TO REPLACE THE KITCHEN FAUCET?
You will likely not need any additional parts. If the sinkhole is too small, you may need to purchase a larger sink, or add an extra hole in order for the new sink to fit through it.
REPLACE KITCHEN FAUCETS
If you buy a new sprayer, read the instructions on how to install it first. If you buy a new faucet with a pullout spout, or a side-handle, follow the instructions that come with it to install it. Changing your kitchen faucets is easy for anyone! Someone who is able to handle basic tools without difficulty.
A sink faucet replacement requires a wrench with an adjustable head and some sealing plumber’s putty. A basin wrench is also useful for removing older sinks from their pre-existing holes. Some companies also offer specialty tools like sink wrenches, which allow you to remove old sinks from their slots. Tools such as pull-out sprayer inserts will require a new hole to be drilled in your sink if necessary.
25. WHAT IS A CENTERSET KITCHEN FAUCET?
The word faucet refers to the type of kitchen sink. The most common types are the widespread faucets, which are called centerset faucets. They are the most common types of bathroom sinks, too.
When your old sink is pitted, stained, or otherwise worn out, you will need to replace it. The doors below the sink cabinet are also susceptible to damage if they have been hit by falling objects during years of use. It takes less than an hour to install a new sink in place. Proper guidance and correct tools are needed.
WHAT IS A GOOD FLOW RATE FOR A KITCHEN FAUCET?
Most faucets run at 2.2 gallons per minute in order to keep up with modern standards. Some models offer aerated water, which actually has multiple holes to produce a continuous spray like streams in the mountains.
27. WHAT IS A PULLOUT KITCHEN FAUCET?
A pull-out faucet features a hose that pulls out and retracts into the sink. This allows for easier access to those hard-to-reach areas of your sink bowl. They can be either side or top mounted depending on the specific model you choose. Some even include the option to spray with their faucet. Pullouts are usually made by blowing the stream of water. For a “normal” stream, you would not use an aerated stream.
DOES MY CURRENT KITCHEN FAUCET HAVE AN AERATOR?
Most models come standard with an aerator attached to the spout. These small holes distribute water evenly over a wider area than usual in order to decrease flow velocity and pressure levels making it easier to use.
DO I REALLY NEED A SPRAYER WITH MY NEW KITCHEN FAUCET?
A kitchen sink replacement may not require a sprayer, but these features are becoming more standard in newer models. They make it easy to reach all parts of the sink from a single location and take less time to use than you might expect.
30. CAN I INSTALL A SINGLE-HOLE KITCHEN FAUCET?
A single-handle kitchen sink replacement can be done with the help of an optional collar nut that goes between the cabinet and the faucet. If your sink lacks space for more than one hole, this accessory will make it easier to install.
31. WHAT IS A WIDESPREAD KITCHEN FAUCET?
A widespread faucet has two openings instead of one like most other models available today. This allows you to access both sides of your sink without having to move the sprayer or pullout head around to get everything you need out of your sink. a new kitchen sink.
HOW DOES A 3-HOLE KITCHEN SINK REPLACEMENT PARTS WORK?
Replacement faucets are more complex than their widespread counterparts, but not much. Replacement faucets attach to your sink bowl with three different pieces include a spout of some kind an inner ring and base plate that also serves as your new sink’s support.
HOW MUCH PRESSURE SHOULD I EXPECT FROM THE KITCHEN FAUCET?
Your water lines can be engineered for pressures between 20 and 100 pounds per square inch (PSI). The more pressure created by your main water line, the less available room you’ll have for other appliances that may need it. There are valves that can be installed under sinks to regulate the flow of water. The toilet should have both an adjustable flow rate and higher pressures.
DO YOU PREFER A SINGLE FAUCET TO A WIDE SPREAD ONE?
It depends on what you like and whether or not you think the newer style is necessary when replacing your old sink. Some models come with their own unique designs that are meant to be aesthetically pleasing.
35. WHAT IS A SINGLE-HOLE SPOUT THAT DOESN’T LEAK?
A single hole model is exactly what it sounds like: a small circular opening in the center of the spout, with no additional holes surrounding it. A lot of older models use this design in order to limit water flow without relying on adjustable valves or other modern technologies that have been introduced over time. The plumbing system was installed because of our increased standards for water pressure and cleanliness in plumbing fixtures.
WHERE DOES MY HOT WATER COME OUT OF THE FAUCET?
Most models for hot water lines will be attached to the spout itself, whether they are mounted on top or next to it. A single-hole model can be connected to the main cold water line with ease, but it needs to go under the sink cabinet.
When bathroom sink replacement is done, it can seem like a daunting job if you have never done it before. Make sure that your faucet is compatible with your current lines to reduce installation time and get your new unit up and running in no time!
37. ARE KITCHEN FAUCETS UNIVERSAL?
The replacement of a kitchen sink can be difficult for widespread models because they require almost twice as much hardware as single-hole styles. Make sure your new faucet comes with detailed instructions so you don’t miss anything. Important.
38. HOW LONG DOES A KITCHEN FAUCET LAST?
The faucet will last as long as the sink. Single-hole designs have been known to come with a 10-year warranty from the manufacturer whereas widespread styles usually have a two or three-year warranty on average.
39. WHAT DOES GPM MEAN?
GPM stands for gallons per minute. It is an easy way to see how much water can be flowed through a faucet before the internal parts begin to wear down. The number is almost always measured at a pressure of 60 PSI, though you may see slightly less if your home’s plumbing is old or not well-maintained. The water lines are at pressure of 80 or 100 psi.
CONCLUSION
Whether you are moving into a new house or planning to remodel your kitchen, the best kitchen sink faucets will make a difference to the whole look. Modern sink faucets have many add-ons that make cleaning more enjoyable. What is your favorite kitchen sink faucet? My sink faucet is on your list? I hope you will find the best one with the help of our reviews and buying guide.

It’s also allergy-tested and super gentle.
“OMG, this really is amazing!” says a thrilled reviewer. “I have used many eye creams over the last 40 years, and this one works within a few days, and really helps eliminate crows feet around the eye area. I honestly think that it has taken at least five years off my face!…”

Treat your g’boy to a special down-home delight. (Photo: Amazon)
If you’re a pet parent, you know how important it is to ensure that your pups are eating right. While most puppy snacks are loaded with preservatives, dyes and all sorts of nasties, these bites from Amazon in-house brand Wag are made (in the USA) with chicken as the very first ingredient. For the 4th of July, they’re down to $8 from $14, with the on-page coupon.
“My dog is in love with these,” a shopper declared. “Normally she shares her treats when her dog friends come over but not these. If I give them to her friends, she takes them away from them and gobbles them up!”
