Yandere! Mirror! Verse TOS Kirk and Spock HCs
(Original Post)
A/N: I think I've been reading too many fan fics.
TW: Yandere, Obsession, Possession, Exploitation, Power Play, Slight (N)SFW
Prompt: Yandere Mirror Verse ABCs (Cause why not.)
James T. Kirk

A - Attachment: How do they become obsessed?
You fell into the mirror-verse on accident when traveling through a wormhole.
It doesn't take long for him to discover that you are not the same ensign that was previously aboard.
He finds you just as interesting as your counterpart.
B - Brutality: How vicious can they be towards a rival?
He has absolutely no problem sending anyone to agonizing torture.
If anyone dared try to get between the two of them they would be met with strict force.
You belong to him, and no one else.
C - Caring: How well do they take care of their darling?
He'll always take care of your basic needs.
If you require more he'll want something in exchange.
Physical affection is one of his preferred forms of currency.

A - Attachment: How do they become obsessed?
After trying to blend in (poorly) you think you've fooled everyone, except for him.
With one good look that's all it takes to know you're not who you claim to be.
He will hide you from the captain, he's not really much for sharing.
B - Brutality: How vicious can they be towards a rival?
He will use his cunning and intelligence to cut his enemies down to size.
He may even turn them into experiments watching them suffer for their arrogance.
However, he won't hesitate to physically remove a rival if it's the most logical option.
C - Caring: How well do they take care of their darling?
Spock will take care of your needs and then some.
He enjoys decorating you in his Vulcan cultural attire; luxurious green-hued robes, various jewels, and hair adornments.
He is the perfect mate, it is only logical that must demonstrate his ability to provide for you.

Logos and Pathos (Book 2) Chapter Nine
Spock x Empath! Reader
Chapter Nine: Parallel Emotions
Summary: (Y/N) and Spock understand each other in every universe.
(Y/N) walked into the Sickbay acutely aware of Spock’s phaser trained on their back. Uhura, Scotty, Bones, and Kirk stood inside, looking on worriedly for any sign of injury. Spock was logical in this universe, but there was no telling if he was willing to be violent unlike their universe’s Spock.
“Doctor, it is time for answers,” said Spock.
Before he could continue, (Y/N) pivoted and tackled him. Caught off guard, Spock stumbled back and dropped his gun. He regained his foot and threw (Y/N) off him and over a Sickbay bed. Next, Scotty and Uhura went at him, but Spock easily pushed them back into the ground with his Vulcan strength. Bones ran at him, but Spock ducked and dumped him over his shoulder to the ground roughly. Kirk punched at him, but Spock grabbed his arm and tossed him across the room. He advanced, but (Y/N) jumped up and kicked him in the back.
Spock stumbled to his knees, and (Y/N) was on him in a moment. Their own Celian strength wasn’t equal to that of a Vulcan, but they grabbled with him as he turned over and pinned them down. (Y/N) was a sufficient distraction for Kirk to grab a ceramic bowl and smash it over Spock’s head. (Y/N) caught him as he collapsed unconscious on them. Groaning, they pushed him off of them.
“How much time do we have, Scotty?” asked Kirk, helping the Engineer up.
“Hardly ten minutes, sir, until the conditions are right to take us back to our universe,” said Scotty. “The field density between the two universes is starting to close real fast.”
“Help me get him on the table,” said Bones, beginning to pick up Spock with (Y/N). “Well, come one! He’ll die without immediate treatment!”
Kirk and Scotty joined them, heaving the body onto the infirmary bed as Uhura watched nervously.
“Everything laid in, Scotty?” asked Kirk. “Even the time lag so the operator can get into the transporter?”
“All laid in, sir,” assured Scotty. “Come on, McCoy, you’re not taking a chance on not getting back home.”
Bones prepared a vial. “This won’t take long. I can save his life. He’s still out. He should be up by now, and if he doesn’t wake up, he could be seriously injured.”
“We’ve got barely any time,” said Scotty urgently.
“And, no offense, Bones, but I don’t know if you can make the run in time,” said Kirk.
“I can,” said (Y/N). They looked at them. “I can administer medicine to Spock if Bones gives it to me, and I can make the run.”
“Are you sure?” asked Uhura worriedly.
            (Y/N) nodded. “I’m sure.”
Kirk smiled at them. He knew that their feelings lay with their Spock, but clearly (Y/N) didn’t want this Spock to suffer unnecessarily as well. Not to mention, this Spock seemed calm around (Y/N) just like their universe’s. “Alright.” He looked at Bones. “Prepare the syringe.”
Bones nodded. “Inject it as soon as we’re out of the room, that way the buffer between him waking and us escaping it right.”
            (Y/N) nodded. “Got it.”
“Be quick,” said Uhura to her friend as she left with the rest of the landing party.
(Y/N) took a deep breath and picked up the syringe. As they did, though, Spock awoke behind them, completely free of the need for medicine to wake up. They turned back, and he rosed before them, grabbing their wrist as they gasped.
“Why did the Captain let me live?” Spock gazed at them appraisingly. “Why did you let me live?”
“Let me go,” said (Y/N) softly, trying to reason with him, but Spock’s harsh grip on them didn’t let up. “Just let me go and this whole mess gets fixed.”
They tried to back away, but Spock followed them, cornering them against the wall. Spock raised his other hand and placed it on (Y/N)’s face. They immediately felt a fellow psychic’s mind trying to pry into theirs and jerked away.
“No!” cried (Y/N), putting up a barrier as best they could.
“Our minds are merging, (L/N),” said Spock. “Our minds are one. I feel what you feel.” He paused and furrowed his brow as the flood of powerful emotions came into him from (Y/N). He was inundated with their memories of their world, how they came to be in his. However, what struck Spock the most was the Spock of their universe and the (Y/N) of that universe.
He could see Spock fighting through a sandstorm to find (Y/N). He could see (Y/N) pulling emotions of distress from Spock. He could see them standing, resolute together, against Khan. He could (Y/N) removing Spock’s pain when he lost his sight. He could see the softness between them; he sensed the deep, unyielding emotions.
Spock jerked back and let (Y/N) gasp as their mind was released as their memories of their world played before his eyes. He could feel (Y/N)’s emotions toward the other version of himself, and he…he could see in that Spock’s actions a deep care for (Y/N) as well. It made this Spock…long for whatever they shared. In this universe, such emotions could not be shared. It would be weakness.
“Are you satisfied?” questioned (Y/N), eyeing him warily.
Spock straightened, still reeling from the extreme differences of his world and theirs. “You are not of this world.”
            “No,” confirmed (Y/N).
“And you are trying to return to your own?” asked Spock.
            “Yes,” said (Y/N).
            Spock paused. “Very well, then.”
“You’re not going to stop us?” asked (Y/N) warily.
“I would prefer my Captain and Interrogator returned to this reality,” said Spock. “I suppose the rest of your people are in the Transporter Room?”
(Y/N) nodded. “We’ve got to hurry. There’s barely any time before the fields between our realities can’t be passed through.”
l
Kirk and the others turned as (Y/N) and Spock walked into the Transporter Room. They immediately gazed at Spock, worried he had a phaser on (Y/N) again. Marlena, Kirk’s girlfriend in this reality, had already messed with the Transporter controls, meaning someone had to manually control it instead of having automatic controls. Spock attacking again was not an issue they needed.
“(L/N), are you alright?” asked Kirk.
(Y/N) nodded. “I’m fine. And Spock is here to help.”
            Bones frowned. “He is?”
“It is logical that I would want you to return to your own reality so my fellow officers may return here,” said Spock, taking his place at the Transporter controls.
“You’re a man of integrity in every universe,” said Kirk fondly.
“I shall operate the transporter,” said Spock. “You have two minutes and ten seconds.”
“For that time, I have something to say,” said Kirk. “How long until the Halkans’ prediction of galactic revolt is realized?”
            “Approximately 240 years,” said Spock.
            “The inevitable outcome?” asked Kirk.
(Y/N) brightened, understanding what Kirk was doing. They could feel his determination. He was trying to show Spock there was another path.
“The Empire shall be overthrown, of course,” said Spock.
“The illogic of waste, Mr. Spock—the waste of lives, potential, resources, time. I submit to you that your Empire is illogical because it cannot endure,” said Kirk. “I submit that you are illogical to be a willing part of it.”
“You have one minute and twenty-three seconds,” said Spock, seemingly unaffected.
“If change is inevitable, predictable, beneficial, doesn’t logical demand that you be apart of it?” questioned Kirk.
“One man cannot summon the future,” said Spock.
“But you can change the present,” said (Y/N), stepping towards him. “You can be what this Enterprise needs. Find a reason to spare the Halkans, stick to it, show people that there’s a path beyond fighting. If you see this path is doomed, I’m sure others do as well.”
“Captain, (L/N), get in the chamber!” called Scotty.
“What do you say?” asked (YN), gazing at Spock.
“A man must also have the power,” said Spock.
“In my cabin, there is a device. It will make you invincible,” said Kirk.
“I believe in you, Spock,” said (Y/N).
Spock blinked. The (Y/N) of his universe had never spoken his name. It was always “Commander” and “Sir.” Spock had to admit, this (Y/N) reminded him of the reports of his (Y/N) before the Empire molded them. They had been outspoken, refusing to go along until forced. Seeing them this free was…Well, it made him feel more inspired to try to change this reality if brave, strong characters like this were the result.
“So, what will it be? Will you hide in this tyranny or fight for a freer future?” asked (Y/N). They smiled. “It’s up to you.” They turned with Kirk and walked onto the Transporter. “One man with a vision. That’s all it takes.”
“I shall consider it,” said Spock, but if (Y/N) knew their Spocks, there was conviction in his gaze. He flipped the switch, and in a moment, the landing parties beamed back to their respective correct realities.
l
"Unhand us!" cried the Kirk of the Mirror universe as the original Spock and his fellow officers pushed the alternates into the Transporter.
"I assure you, this is for your own good," said Spock evenly.
The alternate (Y/N) stepped up calmly, but before they did, Spock cleared his throat. "Yes?" they asked warily.
"Ask your universe's version of me to use logic to decide his course of action," said Spock. It was quiet enough that the rest of the landing party wouldn't hear. "This empire cannot last in the vastness of the universe."
"No. I doubt it can," said (Y/N).
"Your Spock will think the same," said Spock.
"How can I be sure?" challenged (Y/N). "He may not be outwardly cruel, but he does what he needs to survive."
Because if he is like me, he'll listen to you. "Because, although logic is the most important part of Vulcan life, sometimes people need a push to do the right thing," said Spock.
(Y/N) cocked their head, a strange feeling in their chest. Swallowing hard and nodding, they stepped onto the transporter. They gave a curt nod of farewell to Spock until he flipped the switch, and the landing parties reverted to their original realities.
1
“I have heard the rest of the landing party’s tales of their time in the other universe,” said Spock, taking his seat beside (Y/N)’s workstation. “Did you find it similarly strange?”
(Y/N) nodded. “It was a weird place. I mean, can you really imagine me interrogating people? Not to mention, everyone was so mean. I hated it.” They smiled coyly, though. “One person was pretty similar to our universe’s, though.”
            Spock raised an eyebrow. “Oh?”
“It seems Spocks are always infallibly logical, no matter the world,” said (Y/N). They grinned. “I have to admit, I was worried at first since that Spock did fight us because he didn’t know we were trying to get back to our reality, but after he realized what was happening, he knew it was for the best.” Their smile softened. “And I think Kirk and I convinced him that their world can be changed for the better. I hope he’s taken our advice.”
“If you gave the advice, then I suspect he listened.” Spock’s gaze was filled with an emotion (Y/N) wished they could feel to identify. “After all, you have always had a way with words that not even I can resist.”
“Why thank you, Spock,” said (Y/N). “What was the (Y/N) of that world like here?”
“They were wild, yes, but I must admit, they seemed keen to remain safe. I suspect they, like the Spock of that world, see that there could be another path,” said Spock.
(Y/N) smiled. “Then I guess they and that Spock have a chance. Between you and me, I don’t think even a whole Empire could stop them from changing their world.”
            “A definite likelihood,” said Spock.
“All the same, while there is hope, I’m glad to be back,” said (Y/N). “I’m much better suited to this reality.” They looked at Spock softly. “And I like the people here much more. No Spock compares to you.”
Spock fought valiantly to keep a blush from his cheeks. “And I prefer you to any other (Y/N). I’m glad you’ve returned.” I’m glad you’ve returned to me.
l
“Dammit, you couldn’t have gotten us back any earlier?” huffed Kirk of the other universe. “Next time, be faster, or you’re done, Commander Spock.” He stalked out of the Transporter Room, the rest of the landing party following, as did Marlena.
“Of course, Captain,” said Spock. As (Y/N) passed by, he called out, “Lieutenant.”
            (Y/N) paused. “Yes, Commander?”
Spock’s own slight preference for (Y/N), the only person of the Enterprise who didn’t look for trouble, was spurred on by the memory of the other (Y/N) and Spock’s deep emotions. Hope let him have the strength to begin the steps towards the connection his heart longed for and the future of peace he desired. “I’d like to speak to you.”
A flash of worry passed over (Y/N)’s face. “Oh? What about?” They were wary, prepared to fight their way out of dnager.
“The future,” said Spock, stepping forward. “The future of us and our world.”
(Y/N) felt themself relax for the first time in years as they saw something within Spock’s gaze that suggested they were not the only one tired of the cycle of pain the Empire created. “What type of future?
And so, in two universes, Spock and (Y/N) drew closer—one pair with feelings as steady as the sea; the other just beginning their connection—both with hearts in synch.

Tropetember Day 8 - 5+1 / 3+1
You're in my sickbay again...
Pairing: Leonard McCoy x GN!Reader
Fandom: Star Trek (I was writing it as AOS but pretty sure it works for TOS as well if that's your jam)
Rating: Teen and up
TW: Mentions of torture, mention of injuries
AN: Day 8 of @tropetember. Not a massively in depth fic, more like snapshots of situations that occur through the relationship.
3 times Dr McCoy didn't want to see you in his medbay and 1 time he did
Find this story on Ao3 here.
Word Count: 1.3k
1
While you hadn’t been expecting to be beamed directly into the quarantine suite in the Medbay of the USS Enterprise, after three months working with Captain James T for Trouble Kirk, it wasn’t totally surprising either.
Kirk had been invited to a celebration feast in a system you were exploring, but had only been allowed to bring one guest. As Chief Security Officer or CSO, you had been volunteered for the position.
You had done everything you could to keep the Captain away from anything questionable. Sadly, conversations with him usually went something along the lines of:
“Jim, no”
“Jim, yes”.
It was something you regularly discussed in your sessions with the ship's newly appointed counsellor.
Since quarantine procedures were only instigated when the transporter detected an anomaly in the crew members being transported, and assuming it was due to Jim, you just sigh to yourself and shake your head.
“I told you to watch him closely!”
The southern drawl didn’t soften the accusation, even deadened as it was by the plexiglass divider that separated Quarantine from the rest of the medbay.
“I did! I don’t understa…”
You trail off as you have a sudden realisation and groan.
“I found him with his tongue down the Princess’s throat.”
Dr McCoy gives a long suffering sigh.
“I’ll have to run tests on both of you. The transporter team couldn’t definitively tell if you both have it.” He pauses and looks you up and down. “I expected better of you Lieutenant Commander”
“Yeah, cos you’re so much better at this than I am. It was Orion herpes last time, wasn’t it?”
The CMO just smirks and tells you to stop pointing fingers before sauntering off towards the storage cupboard. You respond by flipping him off. And you maybe watch his ass a little.
Turning to the Captain, who has been uncharacteristically silent until this point, you channel your inner McCoy.
“Goddamnit Jim!”
Jim decides that you and Bones are spending too much time together.
2
When Scotty had called to warn Dr McCoy of an incoming victim of an explosion in engineering, he had not expected it to be you.
“You’re in my sickbay again sweetheart.”
He uses a sing-song tone that he doesn’t employ with the rest of the crew. Nurse Chapel, who is at the other side of the bed, takes note to check in with the Captain as to the state of the betting pool. She believes she may have lost.
You nod in response to the doctor’s enquiry. You’re in far too much pain to think of anything more complex than that in response.
“What were you even doing in Engineering?” he grumbles to himself, moving around in the space to grab hypos, bandages, burn salve and a dermal regenerator. “You’re almost as bad as Jim and Spock.”
You try to focus on him but you’re struggling to stay conscious. It’s not aided by the painkillers he dumps into your system.
McCoy gently moves you to be laying on the bed. He’s concerned at the extent of the damage done and the nerve trauma to your arm. To ease your pain, he hits you with a sedative and you’re out like a light.
-------
You groan as you come back to consciousness, the light of the medbay hurting your eyes.
“Welcome back darlin’” you hear.
Smiling despite yourself, you squint in Leonard’s direction.
“I was helping with the repairs on the lower decks. I assumed it was safer than an away mission. Apparently I was wrong.”
Surprised laughter bubbles from the grumpy doctor as he agrees.
“Well, get yourself rested up. I’m serious this time. I don’t want to see you back in my medbay.”
“Sure” you agree, both of you knowing it won’t last for long. Occupational hazard. “Dinner and a movie on Saturday if the mean Doctor lets me go?”
3
It made a change for a mission to go wrong due to something Spock did but in a culture that valued feelings as much more important than logic, it was not that surprising.
Most of the crew had made a successful escape but yourself and Dr McCoy had been taken hostage during the initial skirmish. You’d been thrown in a cell together and that had been that.
Or at least, so you’d thought.
You’d been dragged from the cell, questioned and beaten in front of McCoy in an attempt to find out details of the Enterprise and it’s crew. You hadn’t broken, but by the time you’d been rescued, you definitely had at least a couple of broken ribs, a black eye and various assorted cuts and bruises.
Len was quiet as he helped to repair your injuries. Where you were black and blue, his torture had been psychological. He couldn’t get your screams out of your head.
Noticing his distracted state you grasps his jaw gently, disguising the wince it bring when it pulls a little, and raise his eyes to yours.
“This isn’t your fault.”
His eyes dart away but you stay firm.
“I am trained for this, Len. I’d do it again to protect you. But you’re going to need to let the guilt go.”
He sighs heavily.
“I’ll try.” He pauses to run the regen unit over your upper arm. “You’ll need to do me a favour though.”
“Anything.”
“Go on a date with me?”
Mr Spock had been on his way to apologise for the consequences of his actions but is distracted by the fact that he has won the betting pool. He better inform the Captain and come back later.
1
You’re still not sure how it happened. As CSO, your main responsibility was the Captain and when things went wrong, his safety was paramount. You couldn’t check on everyone else. You just had to trust that your team was doing their job.
You hadn’t even realised Len had been hit until you landed on the transporter pad.
There had been so much blood.
Now, you were pacing outside the OR. It had been hours since the beam out when finally M’Benga pops his head out.
“He’ll be ok. He won’t be working for a few weeks but he’ll be ok.”
Your knees give out from under you and you land heavily on the chair behind you. Tears of relief escape without your permission and you drop your head into your hands.
M’Benga gives your shoulder a squeeze, letting you know where Len is being moved to and giving you permission to stay with him, before heading off to finish cleaning himself up.
You take a deep breath and approach Len’s bed. His larger than life presence is softened in sleep and you can’t help but notice how fragile he looks.
Taking his hand, you place a kiss on his knuckles and then rest your head against the mattress. After nearly 36hrs awake, you’re out like a light
-----
You wake to the feeling of fingers running through your hair which you automatically nuzzle into. It’s nice. Comforting.
It takes longer than you’d ever admit to orient yourself, but when you do, you raise yourself and meet Len’s eyes. He has a soft smile on his face that you can’t help but mirror.
“Sorry for dropping in, I know you didn’t want to see me in your medbay.” It’s a cheeky comment but it widens his smile into a grin. You pat yourself on the back for lightening the atmosphere.
“I’ll let you off this time.” His voice is a bit scratchy from lack of use but it sounds like the finest music to your ears. How could you have been so close to never hearing it again? He continues, “care to join me for dinner? I’m afraid there’s only jello.”
You laugh at the silly grump of a man in the hospital bed. Your best friend. Your favourite person. The love of your life.
“I’d love to.”

Special Day- TOS Spock x Reader
Plot: {Requested by @groovyfluxie} Spock and the reader on their 3rd anniversary date.
Words: 743
A/N: I honestly don't know why I don't write more for TOS Spock because I adore him so much! Also I hope you enjoy this, I tried to make it as gender neutral as possible.
Tumblr media
~
"Come on, Spock," you whined while tugging on his shirt sleeve, "We've been together for three years, don't you think that we can do something?"
"I don't see the point in doing something when you know I have sincere affection for you every day."
"I know but it's our anniversary. This is a special occasion, Spock." You pouted while looking up at him with puppy eyes.
He looked down at you and let out a quiet sigh. You grinned as you knew that you won him over. "Meet me in the observation deck at 1700 hours."
"Aye, aye, sir," you said cheerfully as you stood on your tiptoes and placed a kiss on his cheek. "See you later, Spock."
~
You looked in the mirror one last time, making sure you looked decent enough. Three years was a long time, especially with Spock. People would always question you about the relationship, asking why an emotional person like you would love a Vulcan, but they always forget that he's half human too.
You made your way down to the observation deck, wondering what Spock had set up. Sure, this was your idea but Spock always found a way to surprise you.
You entered the observation lounge and you were astonished. He was holding a small bouquet of flowers and wearing his suit from his mission on Beta III.
"Aw, Spock, you shouldn't have," you gushed as he handed you the flowers.
"If I recall, you were the one who wanted an event," he teased, a slight smile on his voice. "And I am more than pleased to hold such event for my Ashayam."
You always blushed when he called you that. "So, what do we have on their agenda?"
"Well, I know that you haven't eaten yet," he stated while moving away and revealing a small table with a candle and food.
~
After dinner the both of you sat on the floor and looked at the stars. You sat in Spock's lap as you made shapes from the stars.
"See, there's the ears and the tail and then you connect the body and it makes a bunny. Come on, you try."
He focused closely on the stars until his mind could make a shape. "There, that looks like a fish."
"Where?" You asked, making him point out and trace what he saw and he was right, it looked like a fish.
"Is it a random fish or it is Pisces?"
"Pisces," he muttered making you laugh. Your laughed died down and you put your head against this chest.
"Y'know, you really didn't have to plan anything. I was just teasing you earlier. Spending time with you in your quarters would've suited me just as well."
"If you ask for a whole universe I will make sure you recieve it," he said with a smile as he ran his hand through your hair, making sure to miss your tangles. "I thought you were aware of this."
"I mean three years later and you're still surprising me," you chuckled. "Was this Amanda's teachings?"
"My mother has taught me some things about dating humans and the traditions they follow."
"Your mom is a good woman, very lovely too. No wonder why you get all the ladies."
He frowned at you as his hand abruptly stopped moving, but he let out a laugh. "No, I only have you and that's all I could ask for."
"You better, you've been dealing with me for three years and you better not stop now," you growled playfully as he kissed the top of your head.
"According to my calculations, there's a less than one percent chance of that happening, Ashayam," he whispered while pulling your hand into a Vulcan kiss.
"You wouldn't mind a human kiss too, would you?"
He acted like he was thinking, but you knew the answer. You always knew the answer when you asked him that question. "I would not mind."
"Perfect," you whispered as you leaned in to kiss him.
{BONUS}
Spock held onto you as you slept against his chest. You both came back to his quarters after a while of spending time in the observation deck. You spent some time cuddling before you ended up falling asleep in his arms. Some hair fell over your eyes and he gently moved it to the side.
"My Ashayam," he smiled sweetly before placing a kiss on top of your head. "You deserve every galaxy and beyond that."

The Lone Survivor: Part 5
Tumblr media
TOS!Spock x Fem!Reader
Spock saves the reader from an icy starship crash, only to accidentally form a bond with them in the process. They are called to investigate a happening in the morgue, seemingly to face the unseen enemy that caused the crash in the first place.
PART(S) ONE TWO THREE FOUR
WARNINGS: Blood, violence, death, corpses, language, and sexual implications. The body eating gets vivid so if you can’t ride, please don’t.
I’m so so so so sorry this took so long to come out. I’m not good at actions scenes so I did my best! Part 6 will be out soon. If I missed you on the tagged list I’m so sorry!
Part 5: Isn’t is lovely? All alone. My heart made of glass, my mind of stone.
Captain Kirk and Doctor McCoy tried to shield you from the carnage, but you broke through their human shield to see Commander Craft surveying the morgue with a grim expression.
Only a portion of the crew were brought aboard-the rest were still being recovered by multiple teams below. Along with Craft came other starships to help with the recovery. The tundra below was harsh and made recovery an even more difficult process. Bodies that were still intact were brought aboard the Enterprise to be identified. The others well were left in makeshift morgues below waiting to be put together with their other pieces.
What you hadn’t known before yesterday was that some of your crew had been devoured.
More had been devoured now. Bodies were littered about the morgue, torn from their bags. Some were only half eaten at the limbs and thighs. Heads and torsos were still left in contact where it was less meat and more viscera and soupy organs. The poor morgue workers were left alone.
“Blunt force trauma,” McCoy noted into his recorder. “Why didn’t it eat them?”
“It appears...it only ate the Calvary crew. The ones that had been on ice,” Kirk murmured, fist pressing into his teeth.
“It likes its food served cold,” you said, absent mindedly.
“Fascinating,” Spock said.
You glanced over the logs last input by the crewman, “He listed finding my father. Right here! Doctor L/N. My father’s dead. It must have kept his form.”
“Which must be why the creature could not be detected on our scanners. It perfectly mimicked the dead,” Spock said, bouncing ideas off of you, “It may be possible to feign the absence of a pulse or temperature-or perhaps it can alter its physical state enough to where it appears to be a lack of both.”
“Why did it take so long to recognize Doctor L/N, then? The man’s been dead for years.”
“The bodies were beamed up in droves, Jim,” Bones answered, “Then picked through. After were found the Calvary’s lone survivor we stopped bringing up one by one.”
“How...” Commander Craft said slowly, through ground teeth, “Could you be the only one?”
“I don’t know,” you answered.
“Four hundred men dead and you...still alive having wrecked in an escape pod,” the commander snarled, seemingly refusing to even look at you. He still surveyed the frozen dead.
“What?” you asked in disbelief, “I was in an escape pod?”
“Don’t play cute with me,” he jerked to look at you finally, eyes blazing, “You launched the pod right before the ship went down. My crew scouted out the area you were recovered from. Only a single pod launched with only you in it. Or did your husband not tell you that’s where he found you?”
“Spock, is this true?” Kirk asked.
“It seems I may have accidentally omitted such a finding...as I was not aware of it.”
“You’re a Vulcan-you don’t miss things,” Craft spat.
“One forgets my human half-although I have never found myself so personal with you, Commander, to share such a fact.”
Craft looked to you and back to Spock and then back to you again.
“You were both with one another the whole evening?” Commander Craft asked.
“I had two guards posted out side their quarters,” Kirk said, his temper flaring, “I doubt she’s in cahoots with the damn thing. Spock looked into her mind and it seems she’s nothing but a scapegoat for a monster to get its next meal! Now you can stop targeting my officers and start cooperating.”
You reached for Kirk’s arm desperately, “Captain, I didn’t put myself in that pod. Captain, I didn’t do this-you’ve got to believe me still.”
“It doesn’t matter what I believe. What see is your crew in bits and pieces down here and that thing is going to do the same to my men,” Kirk said, patience wheedling thin. “Bridge, this is the captain. Issue a red alert. Lockdown all decks.”
“But captain,” a woman’s voice replied, “You just issued a command stating that the ship take a landing and to disregard any other orders.”
“Lieutenant, where was I when I gave such orders?”
“On deck three.”
x
The red alert beacon seemed like it would never fade into the background but it was eventually drowned out by the sound of blood rushing in your ears. Kirk had ordered you all to stay together after a trip to the armory and that you were all going to the third deck, whether the commander liked it or not.
The assent to the third deck was painful as the commander and Kirk had it out with one another. The lift felt extremely cramped, but the tension in the air made it worse.
Splitting up the party had perhaps been briefly suggested by your husband to cover more ground, to which the commander argued, “Don’t let Spock take her anywhere. I don’t trust those two!”
“No ones going anywhere unless it’s with me,” Kirk retorted, “Set your phasers to stun. We don’t know who the real crewmen will be apart from this thing. We don’t want to kill anyone else.”
“Then how to do we know you’re not the imposter then? How do we know the real you isn’t already on the third deck or even the bridge by now?” the commander asked, nearly spitting.
“I wouldn’t have asked to land. I’m getting really tired of you,” Kirk said.
The doors to the lift finally opened, showing and eerily empty third deck washed in the red light.
“Daddy?”
A small voice, a woman’s voice in fact so far away you could barely hear it.
The doctor stepped passed you eyes bugging out of his skull, “Didja hear that?” He whirled back around to you, “Did ya’ll hear that?”
“Indeed, doctor,” Spock replied, “It seemed to be coming from that corridor.”
“Daddy!” came the woman’s voice again, now sobbing and strangled.
“Joanna?” the doctor asked, immediately breaking away with full stride.
You seized him around the waist, trying to prevent him from going, “Wait-doctor-!”
“Simon!” came a wavering moan from the adjacent hall.
Commander Craft was less vocal than Bones and bolted immediately with a tailing Kirk who was then seized up by Spock, “Captain, don’t-”
“Daddy!” Joanna’s wail was blood curdling and McCoy broke free from your hold like a frenzied horse. You bolted after him immediately.
“T’hy’la!” Spock began to which in the confusion Kirk said, “Go after them-I’ll get Craft!”
x
Could it possible the creature could multiply? You hadn’t seen it for yourself, but fear blazoned in your body and drove your legs to pump themselves as far as they could go. You were younger than Bones, but your weak leg gave out. Spock was faster than you anticipated and with thundering footfalls you felt him upon you.
He swept you up quickly, “That was foolish.”
“It’ll kill him, Spock!”
“I do not think it can be many places at once or it would have acted upon the crew sooner.”
“It’s just throwing its voice?”
“Possibly.”
He was moving at a light sprint, cradling you up like a baby.
“If it likes its food cold it will go for the bridge. It’ll wreck the ship to the snow below,” you breathed, clutching onto Spock’s uniform.
“I suspect the same thing-” his running faltered a bit, “-it will pursue the captain in attempt to control the ship.”
“Fuck.”
x
“Jim!”
“Sam?”
Long ago had Kirk lost sight of Craft, now lurking beyond every corner. It seemed the third deck was empty and he found out quickly why it was so quiet, save the bells. He came upon the mangled bodies of his crew, not eaten, but twisted like rag dolls in their heaps.
Now it was mimicking his brother. The bastard of a thing-whatever it was.
“Jim, help!”
“I’m coming, Sam!” Kirk called, moving carefully down the hall, phaser in hand. It was leading to him to his own cabin. He knew his brother was dead, but it was almost like he couldn’t stop himself. It was a painful desperation and it burned like fire in his chest.
He opened the door and stepped inside. His room was the same as it had always been. Bed in one area, dress and mirror in the other. His antique weapon collection of old era muskets, sabers, and spears freckled his walls but were hard to be seen as the lights were oddly set dim.
“Captain!” a distressed voice cried from the corner. A female voice.
“Y/N?” Kirk asked, moving closer, “Kitty, is that you?”
The person moved from the corner and into the light and indeed to the captain it appeared to be you. But how? Kirk questioned.
Your face was beaten and your body was bloodied. Your dress which once was white was almost completely dyed scarlet and it was ripped all the way down, revealing your right shoulder and breasts.
Kirk snatched the blanket off the bed and brought it to cover you. “How did you get here so fast? Did it do this to you?”
“It ran as soon as it heard you. It was a man. He looked just like you. I thought it was you,” you cried.
He skimmed the tears off your face with his thumb, “There, there. I’m here now.”
“You’ve got to help me. Spock tricked me, Jim,” you said, moving closer. “I need you.”
x
The third deck was so confusing you (the real you) thought you and Spock would get lost but you honed in on the doctor’s desperate cries of “Joanna!” like breadcrumbs.
You both came to a dead end to see the doctor there, bumbling at the wall, clearly confused.
“Doctor!” you cried in relief.
“I heard Jo one second and the next-I’m at a loss!” he attempted to explain, scratching the back of his head.
The doctor stared at the bare wall as if his daughter was apart of its making. She was there in his ears and the next she wasn’t.
“She was never there,” you sighed, still cradled in Spock’s clutch.
“It was a trick, Doctor,” Spock concurred.
“Lemme down,” you reached for Bones almost desperately.
You felt like you had to touch him to truly know he was alright. His face looked alright as well as the rest of his body, but his eyes were still large with bewilderment and grief. Joanna had not been there, but she had sounded so real and seemed to be in so much pain as the ghost of your own father had been.
“Doctor, are you well enough to care for my wife? It seems she has reinjured her leg to some extent,” Spock inquired, allowing you to bear weight on your good limb.
Bones reached for you immediately and then asked Spock, “Where the hell are you going?”
“I must relocate the captain and Commander Craft for their safety,” Spock explained, already having turned promptly to leave.
He broke out into another sprint, which looked faster than it had while you were being carried. Vulcans were faster, stronger than humans naturally, it seemed.
Bones fussed over you and you shushed him, “It’s just a limp-I’m fine-no, we are not going to sickbay!”
“Where do you suggest we go then? We might as well be sitting ducks.”
“We’re going to catch up with, Spock,” you said in a definite tone.
“In your condition and mine? it’ll take this old man two weeks to get you there,” he said, shaking his head.
“Hey,” you grinned, “It’s not the first time you’ve walked a pretty girl down the aisle.”
Bones face heated up with a large grin.
x
The door shifted open and Spock was greeted with the sight of his nude wife fondling his captain. Except you were had been left in Bones’ care behind him. Something white hot and broiling ignited in his very being.
You could feel it from down the hall.
He’s mad-why is he so mad? you questioned internally, limping as fast as you could.
Kirk fired his phaser immediately into the creature’s belly, after letting it draw itself close. The mirror version of you somehow enclosed its hand around the firing phaser, crushing it completely.
Kirk shook his hand free, screaming. The creature seized Kirk by the shoulders and flung him effortlessly into the wall. He hit part of his antique weapon collection, spears and swords clattering to the ground with him.
“Captain-!”
“I’m alright.”
The imposter whirled around and grinned like a Cheshire, “Well the infamous Mister Spock! I can read the crew’s thoughts y’know. Plenty of gals seem to like you. But you only like this one, don’t you?”
The imposter ran her hand down her naked form, taunting him.
“Too bad your captain got the upper hand on your wife first. Didn’t even stop himself when given the opportunity.”
“That’s a lie, Spock,” Kirk choked.
Spock shot at the creature, phaser still set the stun. The creature was knocked back only a little, seemingly unfazed. Spock shot multiple times only with the same result.
“I like it rough,” the creature laughed, “Keep on.”
“Why did you place Lieutenant Y/L/N in the escape pod when you could have devoured her?” Spock inquired.
“I seek the weakest link of all that visit my land. I seek their fears, their sorrows and hers was most adequate for my use,” it said, “The other ships that follow after every crash always tend to stay longer when there’s someone to blame. Everyone likes someone to blame.”
“How many other starships have you sabotaged?” Kirk asked, moving slowly about the weapons on the floor.
“Enough to feed me my due.”
Kirk launched one of the old spears at the imposter and it grazed its belly, spurting purple blood.
“Run, Captain!” Spock ordered.
The creature seized the spear and thrust it a Kirk as he ran to the door. Spock was faster and quickly moved in front of Kirk, catching the spear deafly with one hand. The blade was merely inches from his nose. The phaser clattered to the ground.
“Fascinating,” the creature said mockingly and changed it form from you to Spock himself.
x
Eventually you and Bones were able follow the trail of downed crewman to the captain’s cabin. Upon opening the door you were gifted with the sight of two of your husbands wrestling with one other over some ancient spear.
Where the hell did that thing come from?
Long forgone on the floor was Spock’s phaser and you knelt to grab it.
“Jim!” Bones exclaimed.
Kirk was once again a heap on the floor, already having been assaulted twice by the imposter and saved by Spock. He was bleeding from his right flank.
Bones quickly moved to him, dragging you long with him.
“We’ve got--got to kill it--” Kirk stuttered, staggering upward. You caught him under the arm, supporting him. “The phaser doesn’t seem to work on stun. You have to set it to kill.”
Bones caught the other, “But how can we? Which one is it?”
You shakenly pointed the phaser even though it seemed it had no effect.
“Alright you two!” Kirk yelled, ‘Stop or we’ll be forced to shoot the both of you!”
The wrestling came to a still and the spear was tossed aside, rolling to your feet.
They were identical, completely. Fuck.
“T’hy’la, it is I,” said the one on the left.
“No, that is incorrect,” said the one on the left.
Down to the nose, the hair, the faint hue of green in their cheeks and lips. The familiar warmth pulled you at the back of your mind.
“Kitty, what are you doing?” Kirk began.
You moved forward, with two fingers extended, “Husband, attend.”
The one of the left immediately came forward and you felt the warmth surge closer at is it, enveloping your mind as your fingers touched.
“Fools!”
The one of the right’s entire mouth opened up as if it was a venous fly trap, launching itself at you and Spock. You fired the phaser, blasting a hole on its left side but it still came.
Kirk was faster on the draw, and launched the spear into the creature’s mouth, splattering purple liquid everywhere. Its lifeless body hit the ground with a wet thud.
The spear had ripped through its body and pierced itself into the wall behind it.
“Good shot, captain,” Spock said. “And you as well, wife.”
“Second time’s the charm,” Kirk said, holding his injured side.
You let out a dry sob, mixed in with a laugh. Bones patted your shoulder, letting out a large sigh.

Electic Moves--Montgomery Scott x Reader (ToS/AoS compatible)
This is the LONGEST insert I have ever written holy MOLEY. Here it is at a whopping 5,423 words. I mostly wrote this with ToS!Scotty in mind but I think it also works for both ToS and AoS! I’ll also pop this up on Ao3. Fic is based off my favorite band The Orion Experience and their song Electric Moves
Warnings: Kissing
Electric Moves
“Alright that’s the last of the wires!” you yelled to your superior wiping your safety glasses clean of debris.
“Alrigh’ let me take a look at ‘em,” Montgomery Scott said, crouching next to you. He examined the junctions of the circuit boards and nodded in approval. “Not bad…not bad at all Lieutenant. No bubbles… joints are solid. This soldering is better than some of my own. Must be those steady medical hands.” He winked at you and you put your safety glasses back on to conceal a blush.
“Thank you Mr. Scott,” you replied.
“Lass, I’ve told you already just call me Scotty. Don’t make me order you now,” he joked.
“Sorry. Thank you Scotty,” you put your tools back in the small box and hand it back to the older man. His hand brushed over yours as he takes it from you making your breath hitch.
“No thank you for lending us a hand down here. Doctor McCoy said you were a fast learner but neglected to tell me you were a near genius with mechanics. I ought to have a word with him, keeping a talented lass like you all to him—_______, you alrigh’?”
Scotty must have noticed your face morphing into a deep red from underneath your goggles. You run the back of your hand across your forehead, hoping he’d buy the redness from the heat down in the engineering room.
“Yeah I’m…I’m fine just warm. Goodness how do you live like this down here all the time? It’s hotter than Vulcan!” You exclaimed, earning a chuckle from Scotty.
“Well I s’pose we just get used to it eventually, ain’t that right Kern?” A man slightly younger than Scotty nods in agreement, through you’re pretty sure he didn’t hear what Scotty asked. “Well I think we’re all done down here. Thank you again. It was an absolute pleasure having you down here. I hope we’ll see each other soon.”
He held his hand out to you and you took his surprisingly gentle hand in your own. “Any time, Scotty. It was an honor working on her.”
“Her?” he asked, eyebrows raised.
“It! Her—uh the Enterprise!” You ran your hands over your face. Surely your blush was obvious by now.
Scotty belted out a hearty laugh. “Lass, I thought I was the only one who referred to the ship as a lady, other than the Captain of course.”
“Well—yeah it’s like in those old stories about sea mariners and pirates and even in early space exploration. Their ships were always referred to as female so I just kind of let it slip into my vocabulary. Besides,” you gestured to the warp core. “The Enterprise is like a human being. She has a heart, a circulatory system, a brain…All sorts of anatomy. It’s just made of metal.”
Scotty looked at you full of admiration. “Lieutenant _______ I believe you and I are going to get along quite well.”
You turned to him and smiled. “I sure hope so Scotty.”
The next few days you doubled back and forth as both Assistant Medical Officer and engineer. Though most of your time was spent in med bay assisting Doctor McCoy with patients and testing, you also assisted Scotty with warp core diagnostics and repairing small details on the lower decks. You grew fond of the crew down below becoming friends with Ensigns Kern and Russell but your admiration mostly resided with Scotty. If fact, your admiration was becoming even more: each time you passed him your heart would speed up and you could feel yourself going red. Your stomach flipped and your knees weakened and if your eyes met his, oh stars your words would catch in your throat and you could barely keep yourself from stammering. Eventually, though your heart still raced when he got too close, you managed to get used to his sweet conversations about the starship and his daily life.
Two weeks after the two of you met Captain Kirk announced there would be a week-long shore leave after a recent encounter with Harry Mudd left the Enterprise in disarray and in need of refueling.
“Can’t believe we nearly lost the ship in a bet. Mudd would have had us floating through the galaxy if you hadn’t gotten that gauge recalibrated Mr. Scott,” Bones said as he stepped off the landing pad and onto the Federation sanctioned planet.
“Aye, but I can’t take all the credit Doctor. In fact it was your assistant who wrote the equation. She’s the real star of the show,” Scotty said clapping a hand on your shoulder.
“Well Lieutenant, seems like we owe you a drink or two,” Bones said.
“That’s very kind of you but I plan on curling up with a good book and working on some small projects I’ve been meaning to get done during leave,” you replied.
“Ach lass you have to take a bit of a break. You’ve been working plenty,” Scotty said.
“Thank you Scotty but I’m going to sit this one out.”
“I understand,” he replied. You didn’t catch the sadness in his eyes as you turned to head to your hotel room. “It won’t be the same without you!” He called after you.
You turned around and threw him a dazzling smile. “Enjoy your evening gentlemen!” You responded with a mock bow and disappeared into the crowd.
As soon as you were out of sight Bones turned to Scotty. “You really have it bad for her, don’t you?”
Scotty scoffed at the doctor. “I haven’t the slightest idea what you mean!”
Bones rolled his eyes and retorted, “Oh please. ‘It won’t be the same without you’?”
“Well I simply meant we would miss her.”
“You’ve been looking at her like a lovesick teenager. It’s sickening,” Bones responded. The two of them began to walk to a small diner, serving refreshments from different parts of the galaxy. “One bourbon and a scotch on me.”
“Doctor you aren’t going to get me drunk and have me spill my secrets.” Scotty said as a Betazonian male placed his drink in front of him.
“You don’t need to spill anything it’s written all over your face. You get all goo goo eyed with her. Nurse Chapel noticed it, Uhura noticed it, hell, even Spock has mentioned how you’ve been talking about her nonstop.”
Scotty sighed and took a sip of his scotch. He ran his hand through his chestnut hair for a moment before saying, “I don’t know what to do McCoy. She’s on my mind constantly. Working, off duty, hell even in my dreams. The first day when she came down to work on the circuitry she was so kind and sweet, a wee shy too, but she’s also smart and creative. The way she figured out the equation to save our ship was incredible!”
“Then what seems to be the trouble, Mr. Scott? You aren’t technically her reporting officer so there aren’t any regulations against it.”
“That’s not the problem I just…I don’t want to make her feel uncomfortable. She’s a quiet woman and she hasn’t made any indication that she wants to pursue anything outside of work. I, well, I don’t even know if she considers me a friend,” saying that out loud broke Scotty’s heart and McCoy could see it on his face.
Bones waved the bartender over and ordered another round for his friend. “Listen Scotty, I’m a doctor not a love expert. But I do know my assistant pretty well and she talks about you a lot. She sings your praises. Hell, she’s been spending more time with you than in her own office. The girl likes you she’s just too shy to make the first move.”
Scotty shook his head in doubt and McCoy sighed. “Come on Scotty. Let’s finish up our drinks and we can talk about this some other time. I know Jim was thinking about going to a little hole in the wall club of some sort and I’m going to need someone to help carry his miserable behind back when he out drinks himself.”
Scotty stared into his glass and said, “Aye.”
 ***
Meanwhile you began to unpack your shore leave bag, distracted by Scotty’s words.
‘It won’t be the same without you.’ What could he mean by that? He’s never been out with me before, heck I’ve never been out with anyone on the starship before. Could it be that he had hoped I would come out?
“This is all so confusing!” You yelled to yourself, throwing down a towel. “Stupid feelings.”
You flopped on your bed and stared at the pastel purple ceiling weighing your options. You could continue to pine after Scotty in secret, watching him as he eventually fell in love with someone else and—no that felt awful. You could tell him how you feel, get rejected, and never be able to work in the same room with him—that felt even worse.
You sat on the edge of your bed and sighed. You needed to do something to keep your mind off Scotty. The clock on the computer on your desk flashed 20:00.
“Computer, what is there to do on this planet during the evenings?” You asked. The computer whirred to life, ticking with calculations.
“Sources for entertainment near your current location. There are six bars within walking distance. Two are karaoke bars, three are exotic stripping clubs, and one is a dance club.”
A dance club? You thought excitedly. It’s been so long since I’ve been dancing. “Who’s performing at the dance club? Anyone good?”
The computer whirred again before stating: “Popular intergalactic band The Orion Experience will be performing live throughout your shore leave.”
“Thank you Computer. That is all,” you said and the computer powered down. You sat on the edge of your bed staring at your luggage in front on you. If I’m going to do this, I’m going all out tonight.
You sprung up in excitement and grabbed your bag. “Screw sadness, screw the rules, I’m about to be Cinderella at the ball.”
An hour and a half later you checked yourself out in the mirror. You purchased two dresses, your choice for this evening was a jeweled emerald green dress that stopped mid-thigh and white boots. You even splurged on some makeup and changed your hair. At a glance you could barely recognize yourself.
Shooting a wink at your reflection you strutted out of your room and out the door not even noticing the three Starfleet officers you passed on the street.
***
“Mr. Scott, Bones is right. You need to just come right out and say it. Quick, like a band aid. It will be over in a minute.” Captain Kirk tried to persuade the Scotsman.
“Thank you, Captain, for the sage advice. And thank you Doctor McCoy for telling the Captain about my personal affairs, I greatly appreciate it,” Scotty replied with a glare to the brunette.
McCoy rolled his eyes. “Well I’m sorry but I wasn’t going to let you look like a depressed Sehlat the whole shore leave.”
“I do not look like a depressed Sehlat!” exclaimed Scotty. Bones and Kirk stared at him intensely and he relented. “Gentlemen, I thank you for support. But I’m an old man—much older than __________. And she should be with someone else her age. As beautiful as she is, finding someone else wouldn’t be a problem.” Scotty’s eyes began misty and he blinked back tears.
Kirk clapped a hand on his friends shoulder. “Now Mr. Scott there will be no tears tonight. The night is young and there is a bar just down the streets with all sort of intergalactic alcohol. Let’s forget about our problems even if it’s just for the night.”
But I don’t want to forget about her. Mr. Scott thought to himself, but he knew voicing his opinion would get drowned out by his two friends. “Aye, where are we going lads?”
“Well,” Kirk began rubbing his hands together. “I thought we would check out that bar I was telling Bones about earlier. I’ve heard that they have these dancers that—“
Kirk was cut off as a woman walked past in a short green dress and white boots. The three men stared after her as she sashayed out the door into the crowd.
“Jim…who was that?” McCoy asked staring after her.
“I’m…not sure. I don’t recall ever seeing her before,” Kirk replied.
“She has to be on the Enterprise though. This hotel was booked for us by Starfleet and no other ships are docked so it’s just us,” Scotty said.
“She couldn’t be a Romulan spy could she?” McCoy asks.
“A Romulan, spy or not, would never—could never—have that strut in their step. Especially in those shoes,” Kirk responded.
“Of all things you could comment on you mention her footwear?” Bones joked.
“Of all the things I could comment on her shoes were the most appropriate. Do you have anything to add Doctor McCoy?”
“Not at all, Jim.”
“Good,” Kirk began to follow the woman but was stopped by Scotty.
“You don’t plan on following her do you?” He asked.
“Scotty, the three of us have no idea who she is and we know our crew better than anyone else. Whoever she is, she’s obviously gotten through our security systems and we need to know how. Besides aren’t you two a little curious to see who she is?”
Scotty sighed for what seemed to be the hundredth time that day and he followed his two friends through the street after the mysterious, and yet oddly familiar, stranger.
The bar pulsed with the beat of the band and you were bumping and grinding your way through the crowd. You felt different, alive, on the dance floor. A cheer went through the crowd as you spun through a dance circle. Each move was filled you with energy, you were electrified by the music and you sang out with the rest of the crowd.
“Somebody told me, you got electric moves. Out on the floor you’re like lightening striking,” you sang off key with everyone as the band went into the final chorus. You turned again as the song began to transition to another but froze mid step as you spotted McCoy, Kirk, and Scotty staring in your direction whispering to themselves. You made eye contact with the chief engineer for a brief second, both confusion and recognition evident in his eyes. He slowly got off his chair and began to walk towards you, startling you out of your trance. You turned your back towards him and ran out the door.
***
The three men sat down at bar scoping the dance floor for the mysterious woman.
“You sure she went into this one Jim?” McCoy asked the blond sipping a drink.
“Positive. Keep your eye out for anything suspicious,” Kirk said surveying the dance floor. “Mr. Scott, have you given any more thought to what Bones and I were saying earlier.”
“Now Captain, I told you I don’t want to pursue anything—“ he was cut off by a cheer and applause on the dance floor.
“There Jim! She’s over there,” McCoy exclaimed. The three men stared in her direction, watching as she danced sensually, hands in the air laughing and stomping her foot to the beat.
“She looks familiar. I just can’t put my finger on it,” Kirk said. McCoy and Scotty nodded fixated on the woman. She did one final turn as the song transitioned into a new one but, as she looked in their direction she froze.
“It can’t be…” Bones mumbled.
“Is that…Lieutenant ___________?” Kirk asked still staring at her.
Scotty watched her intently as they maintained eye contact. It was _________ there was no doubt in his mind. Seeing her with such fire in her soul was intimidating, there was no doubt about that. She radiated confidence and seeing her with such energy made Scotty’s heart swell in infatuation. Clenching his fists, Scotty knew he had to take a chance or he was going to have a heart attack. Taking a deep breathe he stood up, knees weak not from the alcohol but from the nerves. He steadied himself and began to approach her gaining confidence with each step. However about ten steps in the woman who held his soul broke eye contact and ran out the door, leaving the shattered pieces of his heart where she last stood.
***
Morning hit you like a Bat’leth; your mouth was dry and every vibrant color of the wall sent a wave of nausea through your body. The headache you had was unsurmountable and you grabbed the hypo you left on the table and injected it. Moments later your headache was gone and your nausea was slightly more manageable.
You revisited the events of last night grinning s the memories came back to you. You looked at the dress that was discarded on top of your suitcase with a fond grin, eagerly thinking about the second number you had waiting for tonight. However your feelings of excitement were smothered as soon as you remembered who saw at the bar watching you. McCoy. Kirk. Scotty.
“Oh my God,” you cried out to yourself putting your head in your hands as you tried to erase that memory from your mind.
They must have thought I looked ridiculous, you thought. I made such a fool of myself. Tears pricked at your eyes and you tried to will them away. Even though you knew none of them would make fun of you—well McCoy might tease you but you could handle him—you knew it would impact how the other two would look at you. If there was a black hole close enough you would jump right into it.
Your stomach growled and decided to get something to eat to keep your mind off of everything. Throwing on your blue Starfleet uniform you walked across the street into a diner. Beings of different races, genders, and ages sat throughout the establishment and were even peppered with Enterprise officers and crew.
Walking to your table you heard the voice of someone you didn’t want to hear: Captain Kirk.
“Lieutenant _________! Come have a seat with us,” he said.
You sighed and though you could have rejected his proposal you also wanted to have a moment to explain yourself—to explain you didn’t always look so uncoordinated and dramatic.
“Good morning Captain, gentlemen,” you nodded to McCoy and Scotty as you sat beside the latter. He didn’t greet you with the usual smile he always had around you. In fact he didn’t greet you at all.
“We were just discussing this woman that we saw dancing last night. It really was something else,” Kirk said.
Oh God here it comes, you thought to yourself.
“She was fantastic, _________, you should have seen her. She had this control over the floor. It was almost supernatural,” McCoy exclaimed. “At first glance we thought she was you,”
You nearly choked on your water. “You thought she was me?” They didn’t realize it was me?
“We certainly did. Then Scotty said you planned on working on some projects during shore leave,” Kirk replied. “How did they turn out?”
“O-oh. Fine. They weren’t anything too difficult,” you replied, relieved.
“And your reading? How was that?” Scotty asked bitterly.
You were taken aback by the harshness in his voice. “It was…fine I guess. Scotty are you—“
“I’m fine Lieutenant __________,” Scotty said. Kirk and McCoy exchanged looks as Scotty got up from the table. “Lads I have some work that I need to catch up on so I’m going to head back to my room. Have a good day.”
The three of you watched as Scotty left the diner without as much as a goodbye to you. You looked down at your plate of food that was just served suddenly nauseous again.
“What the hell was that all about?” McCoy asked in shock.
“I have no idea,” Kirk replied. “But I intend to find out.” He and McCoy followed the Scot out the door leaving you behind, your food hardly touched as tears welled in your eyes.
***
“Scotty! Hey Scotty!” McCoy pounded on the door to the Chief Engineer’s room. “Open up we know you’re in there.”
“Step aside Bones,” Kirk said, punching an override code. The doors slid open to Scotty’s room revealing the Scot seated at his table a bottle of scotch in hand.
“Hello lads, I wonder what brings you here?” Scotty asked sardonically, taking a hearty swig of his drink.
“You know very well what brings us here Scotty. What the hell is your problem? You’ve been in a crappy mood since we got back to the hotel last night and now you’re taking it out on _________?” McCoy asked, arms crossed over his chest. Kirk watched Scotty, slowly putting pieces of the puzzle together.
“I don’t feel like answering that question, Dr. McCoy. Frankly I don’t want to discuss anything with anyone. I wish to be left alone with my scotch,” Scotty said.
Captain Kirk sat at the table to level himself with Scotty. “Scotty,” he said. “Mr. Scott, look at me.”
Scotty sighed and turned to Captain Kirk. Kirk studied him for a brief moment.
“We were right weren’t we Mr. Scott?” Kirk asked softly and put a hand on his friend’s shoulder.
McCoy looked between the two. “Right about what, Jim?”
“The woman at the bar last night. It was Lieutenant __________, wasn’t it?” Jim asked.
Scotty stared at the Captain for a long time before whispering, “Aye.”
The three men waited in silence, waiting for someone to say something. The room was filled with nothing but the ambience of chatter in the halls and the echo of Scotty’s affirmation.
“She ran from me,” Scotty said mournfully.
Kirk nodded.
“Why? Why would she run?” Scotty asked.
“I can’t answer that for you, Scotty,” Kirk said.
Scotty stood up and walked to the window, looking out at the city below. Midday had approached by then, the sun high up in the cyan sky. “I don’t know what I was thinking going up to her. She was having the time of her life dancing and singing. What would she want with an old fool like me?”
“That’s horseshit,” McCoy said, going over to Scotty.
“Bones…” Kirk warned.
“No, Jim I have to say it. Scotty what you’re saying is pure horseshit and you know it. You’re making assumptions and that’s all you’ve done this whole time. Have you even talked to ________ about your feelings yet? I bet you haven’t and I guarantee you have her feeling like complete crap after the way you ignored her this morning.”
Scotty contemplated everything his friend said, knowing he was right. He hasn’t talked to ________ since they docked and not giving her a chance to explain herself wasn’t fair.
“But why would she run from us. From me?” Scotty asked.
“Hell if I know. Maybe she was embarrassed that we saw her, you know how shy she is. And I’m not saying what she did was excusable, but dammit talk to her. Ask her why she ran away and tell her how you feel. Because if you don’t you’re going to lose any chance to have with her, and that will be a damn shame,” McCoy said.
Scotty nodded his head, understanding that everything McCoy was saying was tough love. “Do…do you have anything to add, Captain?”
Captain Kirk waved his hands innocently. “No…no I do believe Bones covered it all.”
Scotty grabbed some glasses from his cabinet and poured drinks for the three of them. “Well then let’s have a drink shall we? And then…well then I’m going to go make a visit to ________’s quarters.”
***
You wrapped your hair in a towel as you stepped out of the shower and threw on some loungewear. Your hangover was completely gone by now but in its place was a heavy heart. You messed up really bad, running away from him last night and then not explaining yourself this morning. You looked at the dress laid out on your bed and sighed, debating whether or not you still wanted to go out when you heard a knock on the door.
“Who is it?” You called out.
“It’s Scotty. May I come in lass?” He asked.
You nearly tripped over yourself running to the door, pressing the button to open the door to let him in.
“Mr. Scott, good evening,” you said hoping the waver in your voice wasn’t as prominent as you thought.
“Back to calling me Mr. Scott are we?” He asked gruffly as he stepped inside.
You winced at his tone. “Sorry…Scotty—“
“I was joking _________,” he said with a small smile tugging at the corners of his mouth.
“Oh.” The two of you stood in silence trying to figure out what to say next. Moment’s passed, then you two both began at once.
“Lass, I—“
“I’m sorry.”
The two of you looked at each other at the same time before letting out nervous laughs.
“You’re sorry?” Scotty asked in slight confusion.
You nodded. “Yes I…I’m sorry. I shouldn’t have run from you. I didn’t…I didn’t want anyone to see me dancing and I was so embarrassed when I saw you…” You were so overwhelmed with everything your lip began to tremble.
“Now, now ________, don’t you start crying,” Scotty said as he wrapped his arms around you and pulled you close to his chest. “You have nothing to be sorry for, this is my fault. I jumped to conclusions.”
You allowed yourself to be held by him for a moment, relished breathing in his scent of scotch and oak, and savored the feeling of his one hand stroking your hair while his other hand rubbed circles on your waist.
After a moment you pulled back to look him in his eyes. “Jumped to conclusions?” You asked.
Scotty took a deep breath and took your hands in his. “Yes I…I may have thought you didn’t want to have a dance with me. Thought that you thought the idea would be repulsive.”
Your hand flew to your mouth. He was going to ask me for a dance?  “I thought you were going to tell me that I looked ridiculous,” you confessed.
Scotty’s eyebrows shot up his forehead. “Now why in heavens would I do that?” He exclaimed.
“I mean…I probably did look ridiculous flailing around like I was,” you said.
Scotty laughed. “You looked nothing of the sort. You…you were incredible! You dance beautifully, hell McCoy and Kirk didn’t even recognize you until I told them today. We thought you were a spy.”
“A spy?” You shout in laughter.
“You have to admit you looked a lot different last night.”
You chuckled and nodded. “I certainly did.”
You two stood in silence for another moment. “Why would you think I wouldn’t dance with you?” You asked.
Scotty sighed, “It was a little foolish of me. I’m so much older than you are—“
“Not by that much,” you cut in.
“But still old enough. I thought you were repulsed by the thought of it. I should have known better,” he said.
“Scotty, I would have very much liked to have danced with you had I not run away,” you said placing a hand on his cheek.
He put his hand over yours, rubbing it slightly. “________ I believe we both are foolish.”
You nodded in agreement your eyes captured in his gaze.
“I—also was going to tell you something last night.” Scotty said hesitantly.
You nodded for him to go on.
“Seeing you dancing there—every time I see you as a matter of fact—I get so overwhelmed in your beauty. That day you first came into engineering you were just a ray of sunshine without saying anything. Then you finished those wires and talked to me and I thought I was going to pass out. You talk about the Enterprise like she was your child and I know you can’t see the way your eyes light up when you talk about her but I do and it can make even Klingons blush. You can imagine what it does to my heart.” Scotty paused to take a breath and you could feel your heart racing.
“_________, I know this might be wishful thinking but I need to tell you that I like you. That I am falling head over heels for you. And I don’t intend on making you feel uncomfortable in any way regardless of how you answer my question. If you want to just be friends and never speak of this again I will. If you want me to leave you alone for the rest of our time on the Enterprise together I will. I just want to ask if maybe you would like to go out with me?”
Your breath hitched head absolutely spinning with every word he said.
“Scotty,” you began. “I would like it very much if you would kiss me.”
A chuckle of relief escaped Scotty as he wrapped his arms around your waist and pulled you in for a gentle kiss. It was neither long nor short, just enough for the two of you to lose yourselves in each other’s touch of your lips.
You both pulled away, light blushes on your cheeks.
“I would love to go out with you Montgomery Scott,” you told him.
Scotty was so overjoyed that he let out a boisterous laugh and hugged you, lifting you a few inches off the ground.
You laughed, body feeling like it weighed only feathers.
“Would you like to go on a date right now?” You asked boldly. “I was thinking about going to the dance club again.”
“Now how could I pass up dancing with the most beautiful woman in the universe?” Scotty said, pecking your cheek.
You blushed, realizing you would never get used to being showered with complements. “Wait here,” you said. “I’m going to change.”
“You could always change right here.” Scotty joked, laughing as your face turned crimson. “I’m teasing you. Go ahead and get ready.”
You shook your head and grabbed your dress of your bed. “Go ahead and sit down. I’ll be right out.”
Scotty sat down and waited in anticipation. He took in all the details of your hotel room wondering what kind of stuff you kept in your room on the Enterprise. He saw your dress from last night peeking out from your suitcase and he chuckled thinking about the last twenty-four hours. You were his; he was yours even with how ridiculous you both acted.
A few moments later, you poked your head out the door. “Hey Scotty, would you mind zipping me up?” You asked holding the front of your dress up.
Scotty looked at you, mouth open in shock. Your hair and makeup were styled the same way you did yesterday but the dress was different. It was a dark blue glittery dress with three quarter sleeves. The dress was short in the front and long in the back and flared out beautifully. You wore black pumps with it.
“Scotty?” You asked, snapping him out of his trance.
“Sorry lass, you just…you look stunning.” Scotty said as he walked over to you.
You turned and he slowly zipped up your dress his fingers occasionally brushing against your skin, leaving your skin burning where he touched you.
Once zipped, Scotty kissed the nape of your neck making you go weak in your knees. You turned to him and pulled him in for a searing, passionate kiss. His hands pulled you tight, dipping you slightly, and ran them across your back. You ran your hands through his mahogany hair gasping slightly at his desperation. He took that moment to slide his tongue in your mouth increasing the passion of the kiss.
The two of you pulled away after a moment, blushes evident in your faces.
“I do believe you owe me a dance.” Scotty whispered to you.
You smiled and pulled him towards the door. “I certainly do. I believe we have time to finish this later if you want?”
“For you, my love, I have all the time in the world.” Scotty said, squeezing your hand as you led him to the club.

I Will Spend My Whole Life Loving You (Spock x Fem!Reader) [Request!]
Tumblr media
“Fic Request: Spock x Fem!Reader (Vulcan/Human hybrid) go on a romantic date!”
”Headcanon or Fic Request: fem!Reader being married to Spock!”
“Request: Spock x Human-Vulcan Fem!Reader get married on the Enterprise. Preferably TOS Spock please.”
- @sovereignoblivious
Hi there! Thank you for requesting :) I decided to mash these all into one since they are all kind of similar. I hope you don’t mind! Also, I write for mainly AOS but nothing really distinguishes it from TOS so you can imagine it taking place in TOS if you would like! I also totally forgot about the vulcan/human hybrid until I was about 1k words in, so if it’s not as well represented I’m so sorry!! I tried to fit it in as best I could :(
I wrote this like a recap of your relationship with Spock, so there’s not much dialogue. I tried to be as detailed as possible!
Also, sorry for the lack of updates... the school year just ended and I went on vacation for two weeks to visit my family in Hawai’i! I had no wifi for nearly 10 days and let me tell you it was AWFUL. Haha. I’m so glad to be home. The rest of this summer will hopefully be full of updates! Keep the requests coming!
ALSO, THANK YOU GUYS FOR THE FOLLOWS!!!!! I gained 20 more followers while I was away! I love you all so much :D!!!
Word Count: 2377 Warnings: fluff, swearing, mentions of self-harm/self-loathing
Send a request!
You had absolutely hated Spock at first. Boiling, raw, pure hatred for him, even though your reasons were unfair and you knew it.
Your initial thought was to just avoid him as much as possible, but that plan was eventually foiled when you realized how difficult that was going to be when he was in almost all of your classes, his dorm was literally directly across the street (like you could look out your window and see right through his window, how you both happened to be on the 17th floor in separate buildings and the same room number was beyond you) and you saw him probably more than ten times a day.
He was there on the walk to class in the morning, there during class, there during lunch hour, even there sometimes on the walk home after class. Once you thought it couldn’t get any worse, your professors started pairing the two of you for group projects. When you asked why, all of their answers ran along the same lines: ‘You both need to learn to get along’ or ‘You could learn a lot from each other’ and other shit like that. You started getting suspicious when you suddenly had four projects assigned with him as your partner. You asked your friends about it when you were getting frustrated and all they did was share a look between each other and shrug. When you and Spock set a date to finally start working on all of your projects, you started dreading it. You found yourself lingering around, whether it be to ask a professor a question that you already knew the answer to after class was over or staying late at the library so that you wouldn't have to go to bed and wake up the next morning, a whole day closer to doomsday. You tried to tell yourself that the reason you were doing that was because you hated him and didn’t want to be around him for any amount of time, but when the familiar burning sensation you always felt when thinking of him started morphing into something else you got scared. The change startled you, suddenly feeling self-conscious and unsure as opposed to your typically confident nature. It was all so new and it was especially frightening when you didn’t have enough time to unpack it before your workday with Spock, so, instead of dealing with it, you tried to push it all down.
When the day finally came, it took every ounce of willpower you had to roll out of bed and get dressed. It was a Saturday so you didn’t need to be dressed in uniform, so you went with some black sweats that had ‘STARFLEET’ written down one side and a  [f/c] tank top. It was a little chilly outside, so you threw your favorite hoodie on as you walked out the door. You tied your hair back in the elevator, careful to leave enough down to cover your ears, put your keycard into the side pocket of your backpack and you started the walk to the campus library.
If there was one thing you were most self-conscious about it was your Vulcan ears. You didn’t like your Vulcan side as much because of your father. He was half-Vulcan half-human, while you were three-quarters human and only one-fourth Vulcan. You were glad you only inherited the ears, not the eyebrows. You and your father didn’t have the best relationship, or any relationship at all, really, and you never knew why. He was often strict and unfeeling, never exercising his human side in front of you. He left when you were eight years old for a Vulcan science mission and never came back. Your mother still loved him, though you never saw him show any sign of affection back. You always believed your mother deserved better, and that was when your hatred for Vulcans started to manifest. Starting with yourself.
A few years after he left you fell into a dark place, although you were exceptional at hiding it. You would often stare at your sharply pointed ears in the mirror and pull on them, hoping that if you pulled hard enough from the bottom they would even out. You would wear earmuffs year-round so that nobody would see. When you were fifteen, you snuck out and got them pierced several times so that they would appear more human. They also compelled you to become more emotional to appear less like your father.
You shook yourself out of your reverie as you walked out of the front entrance of your building.
Luckily for you, Spock was not walking down the opposite sidewalk so you slid your headphones under your hood over your ears and shuffled your playlist. The walk was much shorter than you would’ve preferred and you sauntered up the steps into the vast hall. Since everybody was off, the library was used more as a hangout area than a quiet study hall, save for the actual study hall in the back, so it was a bit louder than usual.
You spotted Spock sitting at one of the smaller open tables next to one of the windows overlooking the grounds. The fluttery-anxious feeling was back again, causing you to swallow hard as you approached him.
“Hey,” you called as he looked up from the window.
“Hey,” he greeted, somewhat awkwardly. Setting your backpack down, you sat down across from him. He was wearing casual clothes too; a plain green sweater and some jeans, though you thought it was cute how he still wore his badge. You shut your eyes tightly and cursed yourself.
I don’t think he looks cute, I don’t think he looks cute, I don’t think he looks cute-
“[y/n], are you feeling alright?” he asked.
You opened your eyes and glared at him.
“Fine, just mentally preparing,” you snapped.
He did what you could only assume was his version of an eye roll, but what surprised you was the flicker of a smile that passed over his features. It was only there for a fraction of a second, but your cheeks reddened as your heart raced.
What is happening to me?
“Would you like to begin?” he started pulling out papers and you gulped.
This was going to be a long day.
Surprisingly, that wasn’t the case. You had never really sat down and talked with Spock before, and to your astonishment, he was a really cool person. You both talked for hours, barely getting any work done, and before you knew it the library was empty and it was almost nine pm. You packed up your things and headed back towards your dorms you continued to talk and he continued to make you laugh and once you made it to the front entrance of your building you couldn’t even remember why you had hated him in the first place.
You smiled and told him goodnight, feeling the heat creep up on your cheeks. You swore that you saw his own cheeks tint green. You both stared back at each other for a moment, feeling yourself gravitate towards each other for a brief second before you realized what you were doing and leaned back a little. He bid you goodnight and with the tiniest little smile you had ever seen, he turned away and crossed the street. You shook yourself out of your daze and hurried inside, texting your friends to meet you asap in your dorm. Even though it was late, you knew your friends and their Saturday night habits.
You asked them about Spock again, this time a little less aggressively. They looked shocked at your calm, almost lovestruck expression settled over your features, glancing worriedly between themselves.
Your friends were there for hours talking with you about your feelings and how you were to deal with them until you all fell asleep. They told you that this was just a case of misinterpretation of feelings, so when you felt so strongly towards Spock you mistook it for hatred when it was really admiration and infatuation. The confirmed that the same thing had happened to Spock, though he had realized much sooner. When you asked them what that meant, they dropped the bombshell on you.
“[y/n],” [friend’s name] said gently. “Spock has been smitten with you since midterms. Almost everyone knows, except for you apparently.”
You sat and stared for a minute, unsure how to react. Giddiness rose above all the other emotions you were feeling, forcing a smile to form on your lips. You felt all choked up, excitement raising your heartrate and slowly taking away your ability to breathe.
“So, even the teachers know?” you managed to force out. Your friends chuckled.
The teachers assumed something was going on, but didn’t know for sure since you acted so hostile towards him all the time so they went out of their way to pair you and Spock together.
You thanked your friends and invited them to stay the night.
The next day you had planned to work with Spock again, so you left your friends a note and told them they could stay as long as they liked as long as they locked the door before they left.
You met Spock at the library again but this time you actually did get some work done, and quickly. When you both finished, you packed your things and took a walk around the grounds. You talked all day about random things, interests, favorites, childhood (you tried your best to leave out the part about your father) and a little bit about your hopes for the future. You did most of the talking, though Spock did contribute on occasion, like he talked a bit about his love (or as he put it, ‘subtle interest’ but you knew better) for music and his passion for science.
Hours passed quickly and the sunset came quickly. You and Spock were sat on a grassy slope overlooking the San Fransisco Bay, watching the sunset.
“[y/n], I have something to confess,” he broke the silence. You turned to him.
“Go ahead.”
“The truth of the matter is that I harbor no malice or hatred towards you,” he started, looking away from you. Even in the dim golden light from the descending sun, you could tell he was uncomfortable. “My... feelings towards you are quite the opposite.”
You stared blankly at him for a moment. Even though you had already known, hearing it come from his was a totally different story. You scooted a little closer to him and placed your head down on his shoulder. He relaxed beneath you, accepting the action as one of reciprocation. You felt his hand brush over yours and the spark that followed after confirmed a Vulcan kiss. You raised your head up to meet his eyes, which flickered between your lips and back up. You leaned in slowly to give him time to back out if he wasn’t comfortable, but to your surprise, he was the one to close the distance.
This kiss was sweet and only lasted a few seconds. When you pulled away, you could see the tiniest hint of a smile on his lips. Your smile faded, though, when you remembered your lie.
“I have to tell you something,” you said softly. He nodded slowly, letting you remove your hand from his light hold.
You pulled your hood back and tucked your hair behind your now exposed ear. You couldn’t look him in the eye as he stared at your earring-ridden ear that mirrored his.
“You’re... Vulcan?”
“A quarter,” you replied softly, wringing your hands in your lap. Spock reached out to grasp them in his own, forcing you to look back up into his eyes.
“Why did you feel the need to hide this from me?” he asked you gently. “It would not and does not change the effect that you have on me.”
So, you explained in the waning sunlight what actually happened in your childhood and the issues with your father, why you ended up hating all Vulcans and that’s why you hated him too in the beginning.
“You don’t need to be ashamed of your heritage because of him,” he told you when you finished. “You don’t need to hide part of who you are because of his mistakes. I can assist you in exploring our culture to help change your views if you would like.”
You threw your arms around his neck in a tight hug.
“Thank you,” you murmured.
                                                      _____________
You and Spock stayed together for the remaining years at the academy. You brought him home to meet your mother (who instantly approved) and you did almost everything together. Date night was your favorite time of the week, which ranged from movie nights or fancy dinners. Your favorite one was when he took you out of the city to go stargazing and set up the cutest little picnic complete with lanterns and fairy lights. It was romantic and beautiful being there with him and listening to the wildlife as the stars made themselves known. He showed you all the constellations he knew of.
Before you knew it you were both assigned on missions. At first, you were separated; you on the USS Bradbury and him on the USS Enterprise, but with some convincing, you were reassigned to the Enterprise.
After your first run-in with danger when Nero attacked and your near-death experience, Spock decided it was time to pop the question. You were married not long after by Jim, who you had gotten very close to because of Spock. You had asked Nyota to be your maid of honor and Spock chose Leonard (who agreed despite his recurring annoyance with the Vulcan). You were awarded a larger, shared quarters and time off duty to spend time together.
Married life was much more normal than you had originally thought it was going to be. Everything just started to slow down around you, and you always had a sense of calm whenever Spock was near you. The butterflies you always felt when he was around died down and instead you felt an overwhelming amount of safety and comfort.
He was all you had ever wanted, and he was forever yours.

Yandere/Mirror! TOS HCs: Kirk + Spock
A/N: I love how goofy this episode is, that and Naked Time.
TW: Yandere Themes, Harassment, Abusive Power Dynamics
Prompt: You've been transported to a parallel dimension where you run into familiar faces, but contrasting personalities.
Mirror! James T. Kirk
Tumblr media
He can tell you're not the same Ensign that was assigned to his ship.
He practically stalks you around the bridge, his eyes follow you everywhere or he's constantly leaning over you.
He'll even find ways to try and trip you up.
He asks you complicated questions that he knows you should be unable to answer.
He likes to drag it out like a game of cat and mouse.
Eventually either you'll mess up or he'll get impatient.
He pins you to a wall or a console leaning in close and reveals his plans.
"You may look like our Ensign, but you are nothing like them. You're more fun to play with."
He demotes you to Captain's Pet and forces you to go everywhere with him.
He puts you in an even more revealing uniform and has you either sit on his lap or on the floor next to his chair.
When you're not on the bridge he's constantly touching you; holding you in his arms, groping you in (fun) inappropriate places, and using your lap as his own personal pillow.
"I think I've taken very good care of you, don't you agree, pet?"
Mirror! S'Chn T'Gai Spock
Tumblr media
No matter what dimension you were in he could see through you like glass.
He constantly follows you, studying you like an animal in the wild.
He lords over the fact that he can ruin you with just one whisper to the captain.
He does eventually tell him but he requests that you be relinquished to him for "further research".
He puts you in a private lab to study you; your behaviors, your physiology, but especially your mind.
He forces you to mind-meld with him often that way he can explore your thoughts and feelings.
You're always left tired and overstimulated. He walks away with an overwhelming sense of euphoria.
"You're thoughts intrigue me kafeh, what else are you hiding?"
When there is nothing left to test he takes you back to his quarters.
He has you dressed in traditional Vulcan koma and teaches you his language.
After that he treats you more like a mate; holding your hand, having you sleep in the same bed, and doesn't meld with you as forcibly.
"You belong to me, and I belong to you, ashal-veh adun('a)."

Logos and Pathos (Book 2) Chapter Eight
Spock x Empath! Reader
Chapter Eight: Parallel People
Summary: (Y/N) learns more about the brutality of this universe, and Mirror! Spock gets suspicious.
“Deck five, sir?” asked Chekov as he entered the elevator with Kirk and (Y/N).
(Y/N)’s guard was immediately up. Chekov was radiating a sickly aura of aggression tinged with sadism. They tugged on the sash around Kirk’s waist and gave him a look behind Chekov’s back to say “Danger!”
Kirk nodded to (Y/N). “Yes,” he said to Chekov.
As soon as the doors opened, Kirk rushed to get out before Chekov could try anything. However, men in yellow jumpsuits punched Kirk and grabbed (Y/N) before they got far.
Chekov drew a gun and approached. “When you die, Captain, we all move up in rank.” He smirked. “And now that you’ve softened with the Halkans, it’s time for something to change. No one will question the assassination of a captain who has disobeyed Prime Orders of the Empire and an Interrogator who couldn’t assist the Empire in getting the answer they wanted from the Halkans.”
The men holding (Y/N) grinned and tightened their grip on them. (Y/N) shivered and pulled against them, hating the emotions radiating from them. It made them want to retch in disgust.
Before Chekov could shoot them, however, a man in a blue jumpsuit attacked him and threw him down. He grabbed Chekov’s phaser and shot the men holding Kirk while (Y/N) used their captor’s surprise to their advantage and knocked them to the ground. The man in blue finished the job and killed them, too.
Two more men in blue walked out of the elevator. These (Y/N) recognized as Kirk’s “personal guard.” They raised their phasers to Kirk and (Y/N)’s rescuer, and he held up his arms.
“I did your job for you,” he said. “Ask the Captain.”
“Sir?” asked one of the guards.
“Yes, he did your job,” said Kirk, forcing his voice to come out harsh.
“We’ll get Chekov out of here,” said the guards, nodding.
“Mr. Chekov was going to make me Chief, sir,” said the man in blue. “You could make me an officer.”
I can’t believe this society still functions. Killing for moving up in ranks? Bargaining? There’s no true order, just a mess of chaos and violence. It can’t last, thought (Y/N).
Kirk nodded. “Alright. You’re working for me.”
            “A commission?”
“You’re in line,” said Kirk, employing a tricky mixture of truth and lie. “You might even make Captain.”
“Yes, sir,” said the man excitedly.
Kirk punched him in the face. “Not on my ship.”
Still protective of the Enterprise, thought (Y/N).
“Shall we take Chekov to the Booth, sir?” asked Kirk’s guard.
“Yes, the Booth,” said Kirk absently. He had no idea what that was.
As soon as the men were gone, (Y/N) looked at Kirk. “Let’s hope Scotty’s figured a way out of this place. I don’t like it very much.”
“Let’s go find out before another person comes looking for a promotion,” muttered Kirk dryly.
l
“You look terrible,” observed Bones, looking at Kirk’s bleeding lip.
“It’s blood,” said Kirk. “Watch your step. Officers move up by assassination.”
“Chekov just tried it on us,” said (Y/N), shrugging. “And I’m an interrogator who uses my subjects’ emotions against them.”
“Mr. Sulu is the Security Chief, like the ancient Gestapo,” said Scotty.
“And my Sickbay is a chamber of horrors. Two of my assistants were betting on the tolerance of an injured man—how long it would take him to pass out from the pain,” said Bones distastefully.
Kirk pursed his lips. “Report on technology.”
“Mostly variations in instrumentation,” said Scotty. “Nothing I can’t handle.”
            “Star readings?”
“Everything’s exactly where it should be, except us,” said Scotty.
“Let’s find out where we stand,” said Kirk. He flipped on his computer. “Computer.”
            “Ready,” it replied mechanically.
“This is the Captain. Record Security Research, to be classified under my voiceprint’s order Mr. Scott’s. Produce all data relevant to the recent ion storm, correlate the following hypothesis: Could a storm of such magnitude cause a power surge in the transporter circuits, creating a momentary interdimensional contact with a parallel universe?”
            “Affirmative,” said the computer promptly.
“At such a moment, could persons in each universe, in the act of beaming, transpose with their counterparts in the other universe?” continued Kirk.
            “Affirmative.”
“Could conditions, necessary to such an event, be created artificially by using the ship’s power?”
“Affirmative.” The computer printed out the necessary conditions.
Kirk handed them to Scotty. “Can you do it?”
“Not by myself,” admitted Scotty. “I’ll need help. And Captain, you’d be too conspicuous.”
“I’m a doctor, not an engineer,” said Bones.
“I only have the basics of engineering. Something like this, I’m out of my depth,” said (Y/N).
Scotty sighed. “I’ll have to tap the power we need from the warp engines and balance it for the five of us.” He moved to another computer to begin figuring out a plan.
“Jim, the way this ship is run, what kind of people are we in this universe?” asked Bones.
“Let’s find out,” said Kirk. “Computer. Read out official record of current command.”
“Captain James T. Kirk. Succeeded to command the I.S.S Enterprise through assassination of Captain Christopher Pike,” said the computer.
(Y/N) let out a small gasp and covered their mouth. Kirk killed Pike? This was truly a twisted reality.
The computer continued, though. “First action—suppression of Gorlan uprising through destruction of rebel home planet. Second action—execution of five thousand colonists on Vega IX—”
“Cancel,” said Kirk, disgusted in his other self’s actions and unable to hear the type of man he was here.
“We need to get out of this reality. We’ll never make it among these people. Our natures are too different,” said (Y/N), crossing their arms.
“Captain,” said Scotty, standing. “We can do it. We have to lay in an automatic transporter setting, but when we interrupt engine circuits to tie the power increase into the transporter, it’ll show up on Sulu’s Security Board and Spock’s Ship Monitors. Of course, we’ll only need a second.”
Kirk nodded. “I’ll tell Uhura to create a diversion to distract Sulu’s attention, at your signal.”
            “What about Spock?” asked (Y/N).
“Goldie, if it wasn’t obvious, you’re the one distracting him,” said Bones.
“Do you think it will work?”
“Well, if you distract him here as well as you do back in our universe, then yeah,” said Bones.
            (Y/N) blinked. I distract Spock?
“Just one more question,” said Bones to Kirk. “If we’re here, what do you suppose our counterparts are doing back in our universe?”
“Hopefully not much,” said (Y/N), trying to clear their mind of Bones’s comment.
l
“Unhand me! I order you!” cried Mirror! Kirk in (Y/N)’s true universe. “Let me go!”
It was futile, however, and Kirk was forced into a cell with the rest of the landing party capture. The (Y/N) of the other universe, though, was proving more difficult. Every time a security officer approached and grabbed them, they lashed out and manipulated the officers’ emotions to frighten them away.
Spock narrowed his eyes. He was watching the scene carefully before making a move himself. This (Y/N) was using their abilities in a far wilder way than his (Y/N), but they were not physically attacking. It suggested that unlike the rest of the switched landing party, they could be reasoned with.
            “(Y/N),” said Spock, stepping forward.
They turned on him; their gold eyes flashed in a feral manner. “Don’t call me that!” They narrowed their eyes.
“(L/N), then,” amended Spock. “I understand that you have switched realities. We are producing a solution, but you must wait in the cell. Fighting prolongs your situation.”
“I refuse to be locked up with them,” spat (Y/N), pointing at the rest of their landing party. They shouted at them angrily, but (Y/N) sneered back. There clearly existed a rift where (Y/N) didn’t like them.
“Would you accept another cell, then?” said Spock.
(Y/N) paused and narrowed their eyes, looking at him appraisingly. “You aren’t…tricking me, are you?”
Spock was struck by how hesitant (Y/N) seemed to speak. They were wild and dangerous in their reality, to be sure, not the same merciful soul Spock knew and loved, but he could see something damaged within them. This (Y/N) had been through quite a bit, he could tell. It…saddened him to see a version of (Y/N) unable to act freely.
“I am a Vulcan. I do not lie,” said Spock.
“Yes, they do. Vulcans are the worst. They twist their words to make you think they are sensible, but really, they’re just using you,” said (Y/N). They took a deep breath and straightened; their body language became less of that of a cornered animal. “But…Spock never acted that way, so I’ll believe you.”
Spock nodded. “We will not harm any of you if you do not cause harm to the officers.”
“What a strange place,” murmured (Y/N) as they passed into their cell. “To care about fellow officers…what a kind, weak place.”
Spock furrowed his brow. The comments and state of these versions of his friends were concerning. Just what type of place were they in? He could only assume they were discovering a way back to this reality. He hoped they arrived back soon. He wanted his (Y/N) home.
l
Back in the Mirror Universe, (Y/N) wandered about the ship as Scotty began preparations to escape this reality. They weren’t sure what their job as an Interrogator entailed exactly, but they didn’t want to find out. Moreover, (Y/N) didn’t want to have to interrogate anyone. Plus, people kept…looking at them here. It was unnerving, and they didn’t like it. Their best course of action was to wander until it was time to distract this Spock and return to their reality to find their Spock.
“(L/N),” said Spock, as if conjured by their thoughts.
“Commander,” greeted (Y/N) as he fell into step beside them.
“I am pleased that Chekov’s assassination attempted was frustrated,” he said. “I should regret yours and the Captain’s death.”
(Y/N) raised an eyebrow. “You don’t look forward to ‘promotions’ like Chekov?”
“I do not desire Captaincy,” said Spock. “And you are a noted Interrogator with empathic capabilities far beyond that of your fellow Celians. The Enterprise would not succeed in its missions without your expertise.” He glanced at them. “I wouldn’t be surprised if you would have preferred to handle his men yourself. I know this is not your first incident being...accosted by such men.”
(Y/N) nodded but didn’t reply. They didn’t like the picture of themself enjoying working in others’ pain, even if it was men who “accosted” them. They had dealt with people harassing them before, and although they had always firmly dealt with it, (Y/N) never reveled in any pain they inflicted on others. It’s what made them different from those types.
“Do you believe the Captain’s plan with the Halkans will garner results?” asked Spock.
“There is a chance,” said (Y/N) absently. “They are people tied to their morals, though. I don’t think much can be done.”
“And yet you didn’t attempt to manipulate their emotions? Cause them fear enough to bend to the Empire’s wishes?”
(Y/N)’s eyes widened slightly at the idea of such misuse of their empathy. “I—They would not bend. I know it.”
“How? Emotions are not logical. They may be easily swayed,” said Spock.
“The heart speaks true,” murmured (Y/N) before they could stop themself. They couldn’t avoid speaking naturally. “Someone with true strength of heart can never be intimidated.”
“I’ve never heard you speak like that,” remarked Spock.
“Oh, it’s…it’s an old Celian proverb. I think the humans say something similar,” said (Y/N) hastily.
“No. They do not. And such Celian proverbs are…unmentioned,” said Spock. He looked at (Y/N). “You were punished for defiance like that. Why do you risk showing weakness?”
(Y/N) blanched. “I…the incident with Chekov unnerved me.” They attempted to cover for their lapse in judgement.
“The (L/N) I know never falters. They learned long ago what it meant to su—work on the Enterprise. They don’t make mistakes like yours.” Spock turned on them suddenly, and he drew his phaser. “So. Who are you?”
            (Y/N) backed away. Shit. “I’m (Y/N) (L/N).”
“No. (Y/N) (L/N) is not soft, nor are they merciful. They are manipulative and determined to survive by any means necessary on this ship,” said Spock. His finger was on the trigger. “Something is wrong with you and the landing party. I intend to find out what.” He held out his hand. “Your communicator.” Under gunpoint, (Y/N) handed it over, and Spock flipped it open. “Captain, Doctor, Commander, Lieutenant—I suspect you are on this specific wavelength. I have (L/N) here with a phaser, and I know you are planning something that jeopardizes my position on this ship. Report to Sickbay for a…conversation, or I will shoot (Y/N) (L/N).”
(Y/N)’s eyes widened. Hearing Spock threaten them…it was unnatural, and even if it wasn’t their Spock, it still hurt them.
“To the Sickbay, Lieutenant (L/N),” said Spock.

Shipping Experiment– Spock
Pairing: Spock x reader (gender neutral)
Warnings: involuntary drunkenness
Words: 3686
A/N: I got this idea when I stumbled upon a BTS picture of the AOS movie productions. Then I discussed it with @cleversturmhond and decided it had to be written. I know the pic is for AOS but can be read for TOS as well.

Being an Ensign usually meant that you couldn’t go on many away missions. So it was always something very special for you to get chosen. You only hoped that your husband had no saying in it because you wanted to be chosen because of your skills and not the fact that you were married to the Chief Science Officer and First Officer of the ship. On the other hand, if it had been Spock’s idea to take you on the mission, it probably had a logical reason, after all he always claimed that he did not make emotional decisions while on duty. Maybe you could ask him later on who had had the idea to allow you to come to the mission.
For a reason you were surprised to learn that the aliens that lived on the planet were very friendly because so far you had usually only heard stories of how the landing party had been almost killed or abducted by the inhabitants of the planet. The natives even invited you for dinner and the Captain immediately agreed. You on the other hand didn’t know if it was such a good idea to just eat foreign food, what if it was poisonous for you? Sure, Kirk claimed that the alien’s physiology was not that different from your own but it still was no guarantee that the food would not hold and unpleasant surprises.
Unfortunately, the meal tasted a bit bland but otherwise it was very good and you ate a lot, probably more than usual. They even served some kind of ‘dessert’, just that it consisted of a bitter drink. After the meal, you were allowed to watch some kind of welcome dance the natives did for you and also encouraged all of you to dance as well. To your surprise, even Spock joined them a bit later, but probably only because four of your hosts were pulling on his arms and trying to get him up and on the dance floor. With determined steps he came over to you, offering you his hand
“Do you mind?”
“I’d love to” you said, taking his hand and placing the other hand on his shoulder. When you had first seen what a skillful dancer he was, you almost couldn’t believe it. Even less that he had never taken dance lessons in secret and just seemed to be a whiz kid, like at everything else. Not that you minded though, it was something you loved about him, how good he was at everything or how quickly he learned if something was indeed new for him. You amused yourself very much and also Spock seemed to do so. But then you saw him smile at you and in shock you let go of him “What’s wrong’” you asked.
“What are you referring to?”
“Your smile, you just smiled”
“I do not believe I did. You must have imagined it”
“Yeah sure, let’s just deny it all as if it was a shame” you said, gently taking hold of him again to continue your dance. Probably you would have just forgotten about it, if his smile had not etched itself into your memory and made it hard to be forgotten. And it wasn’t just his smile, suddenly, he also leaned his forehead against yours and pulled you closer, letting out a small sigh. “Are you sure you’re okay?”
“Your definition of ‘okay’ is unclear” he muttered
“I want to know if you’re feeling as usual. Or if you think that something’s off”
“Nothing is ‘off’. I simply enjoy having you close”
“Well I take that as a compliment” you pecked his cheek. While some of the other crewmembers seemed to have had enough, Spock was still twirling you around, even more energetic than before. And at times you could have sworn to see a big smile on his face. Finally, the Captain approached you
“I didn’t know dancing made you that happy”
“What are you trying to say?”
“That you’re grinning like a Cheshire cat” Spock raised an eyebrow
“You are referring to the animal from Alice in Wonderland”
“Yeah. You have something of him right now”
“Is it true?’” he asked looking at you
“Yeah you have been smiling at times But that’s okay. As long as it means you’re feeling happy that’s perfect”
“I would not call it ‘perfect’. I do not like not being in control of my emotions” you had stopped dancing by now
“So what are we gonna do? Do you want to go back to the ship?”
“Perhaps that would be a good solution. Then I can extend my meditation period”
“And leave poor (Y/N) all alone down here?” Kirk said, patting your back.
“Or I can just leave with him” you said “I kinda am getting tired from all the dancing”
“I apologize” Spock said “If you wish to accompany me back to the ship you are welcome to do so”
“Perfect” also Jim gave a nod and so your husband and you left the place after bidding your hosts goodbye and requested to be transported back to the ship. On the way to your shared quarters, Spock took your hand and squeezed it. You checked the time “It’s only 2014 hours. Would you like to do something?”
“If you do not mind I would like to engage in meditation for some time”
“Right, you said that you’d do that. I’ll just be reading something then”
-
Two hours later, Spock was still in the bathroom for meditation. But unless most times he was talking to himself. With a sigh you got up and stopped in front of the door. Of course you knew he didn’t like to be disturbed and that meditation was private to Vulcans. Yet you gently knocked at the locked door.
“Are you okay?” you asked with a quiet voice but got now answer “Spock?”
“Yes”
“Sorry for disturbing you but you were talking and I wanted to see if you’re alright”
“I am” he said “Test Object Leonard... Time: 1.28 seconds”
“What are you doing?” you asked, entering the code to open the door. You didn’t know what to say when you saw what he was doing. He had rid himself of his meditation robes and was standing at the sink in underwear, a dozen or more of origami swans or folded boats, made from toilet paper were sitting on top of the sink. In his hand, he held your lip balm, which he obviously had used to write something on the mirror “Oh Spock” you said, not sure if it was a good idea to laugh “What’s this?”
“I want to find out how long it takes until the figures are soaked with water and unfold”
“Oh well… uh” you only knew one thing. This was not normal behavior for your husband “What about your robes?” he looked at the pile of clothes, something else atypical because usually he carefully folded and put his clothes away unless he put it in the laundry box (and even for in there he did fold them a little).
“I took them off so they will not get wet”
“Well okay” you moved closer and watched, how he launched a swan called Sulu and noted that it was soaked within 1.31 seconds before noting name and the time on the mirror “Come on, you can drown more toilet paper tomorrow”
“I do not drown it. It is an experiment”
“You still can continue it tomorrow”
“Then the conditions might be different”
“Shouldn’t something be tested under different conditions?” he looked at you then turned back to his ‘experiment’, putting the next thing into the water, this time a boat called Sulu. You had the impression that he had each a swan and a boat that were named after someone of the crew. When you checked the list, you saw that also your name was at the top of the list, making you smile. “Come” you said “You can finish tomorrow. I think you have enough data for today” you pointed at the mirror
“I am not done yet”
“We continue tomorrow. I’ll help you” he looked at you
“Then I can get started with the report now”
“Or we go to bed. It’s late”
“I usually write my reports at around that time”
“Yeah but usually don’t soak toilet paper figures in the sink either. Let’s go” he looked at you
“No!” he said, rather fiercely, making you wince
“Spock!” you insisted “I don’t know what’s wrong with you but you are not alright right now. So let me get you to bed or I’ll call McCoy”
“He will be off duty by now” he grabbed the next swan but you took hold of his wrist.
“I can just call med bay. I bet you’d hate someone else looking at you even more”
“I do not need a doctor, I am fine”
“Don’t you usually not use the word fine because it has no logical definition just like ‘okay’?”
“It does, I only tried to make it clear to you by using your vernacular” still he started a lecture of the different meanings of the two words, depending on the context. You sighed and gently tried to lead him away from the sink and to your surprise and relief he complied. As long as he was talking, you could get him back to your bed room and hand him his sleeping shirt which he put on without further ado. But then he was done with his explanation and the started behaving like a kid again, refusing to but on his pajama trousers and insisted he had to continue his experiment.
“No you don’t. If you go back into the bathroom, I’ll throw all your boats and swans into the toilet and flush them” he stared at you and his mouth fell open slightly. You couldn’t hide a grin
“I will make new ones” he said and left for the bathroom
“No!” you shouted and wrapped your hands around his waist, trying to stop him. But since he was stronger than you, due to his Vulcan heritage, he managed to walk to the bathroom anyways. So you let go of him and went to the intercom instead, contacting Med bay that they came to have a look. After all it was possible that his state could be dangerous. You were quite certain it had to do with something that happened on the planet, probably something he ate or drank. When you ended the communication, you saw that Spock wasn’t in the bathroom anymore. He also wasn’t in the bedroom either “Spock?” you called but you got no answer. His figures were still standing on the sink but you noticed that his lute was gone. With a sigh you started the computer on the desk “Computer, where is Commander Spock?” you asked, not wanting to search him. Besides, he could be everywhere.
“Commander Spock currently is in recreation room 3 on deck 5”
“Oh” you said and left your quarters hurrying there as fast as you could. The scene you saw did shock you but you still had to pull back to not start laughing. It was even worse than what you had seen in the bathroom in your quarters. Spock was still only wearing his nightshirts, boxers and was sitting on one of the tables, seeming to be tuning his lute. And of course he was not alone in the rec room and almost everyone was staring at him or you “Spock!” you hissed as you slowly approached him “What are you doing, honey?” you placed a hand on his arm
“I am not making honey” you rolled your eyes
“I can see that. It wasn’t a question. I meant you by honey”
“Why?”
“You’re not in a state to discuss this. Come, let’s go back. You still have your experiment to finish”
“I am off duty” he said trying out his lute again.
“Well then we just go to bed. Or are you hungry again? Just let’s get you out of here. People are watching” you said quietly. At that, his head shot up and he glared at the people in question and they were quick to look away or pretend to focus on something else. You sighed “Come on. We can come back when you put pants on” he looked down his legs “Yes, you’re only wearing underwear”
“That is not underwear” he gestured at his shirt
“Yeah. But this” you pointed at his boxers. Come” you offered him your hand but he slapped it away, putting a foot on his table and started to play on the lute.
“I would like to play you a song”
“You can do this when I’m in bed. Because I’m very tired” you faked a yawn “Then you can help me fall asleep. How does that sound?”
“As if you think my song is boring” he pouted and you shook your head.
“That’s not what I meant. But it is very calming. And it’s been a long day. Are you not tired?”
“I am Vulcan”
“That doesn’t answer the question” he didn’t say anything and you sighed “Fine” you pulled your hand back and gave a nod, walking over to the intercom to contact Med Bay again because the doctor had to come here and not your quarters. You probably didn’t’ have the strength (or will) to bring your husband back to his quarters. When you were done, you also contacted the Captain to tell him what was going on and to let him know that maybe Spock wouldn’t come to work tomorrow
“What do you mean by ‘behaving odd’? Is it a Spocksih odd we’re used of him or odd odd?”
“Odd odd. Unless he’s sitting on the tables in rec room just wearing his boxers and playing his lute each day”
“No, you’re right that is odd. When did he start behaving like that?”
“I don’t know. He went mediating when we returned. But maybe his smiles on the planet already had to do with his situation”
“Did you let McCoy know?”
“He’s got off, so I contacted Med Bay”
“Very well. Do you need help?”
“Are you already back?”
“Yeah, we all are by now”
“Oh okay. But no, I called for a doctor he’ll help me to bring Spock back home”
“Perfect” you turned around to your husband
“Oh fuck”
“What? What is he doing now?”
“No idea”
“How do you mean that?”
“Because he’s gone. He’s not here anymore”
“Do you need help searching him?”
“Only if you don’t mind”
“My friend and First Officer is running around the ship drunk and half naked. Of course I can make time to search him”
“Good” you quickly discussed where you would go looking (respectively that you’d ask the computer for his location again) before contacting Med Bay yet another time to let them know that you had lost your husband again. Then you went to the next computer to hear his location. As it seemed he currently wasn’t in a room but was still underway to wherever he was heading. That was if he had a place he wanted to go. As you followed his path, you stopped to ask a computer again and when you heard where Spock was, you sped up even more. He had gone to the Pharmacology lab and in his state you had no idea what he’d do and he could get himself killed if he did something wrong. When you arrived at the lab, two people of sickbay were already there, talking to your husband. “What’s going on?” you asked, taking your husband’s hand.
“Your explanations made me realized that something is indeed wrong with me. I was trying to find something against it” he gestured at two small vials in front of
“Did he take anything?”
“No, luckily not” the nurse said while the doctor ran a scanner over Spock
“Is he okay?”
“No” Spock replied, making you squeeze his hand. To your surprise he pulled you closer until your head was resting against his chest. Suddenly he let out a yelp and when you looked up you saw how the doctor had injected a hypo into Spock’s neck. At the same time as your husband you asked what it was and were told that it something that would help him calm down a bit. The nurse then continued explaining that everything was alright so far and he just seemed drunk. So you should just take him back to your quarters and let them know in case something happened. With a grin you shook your head.
“What did you do huh?” you nudged his arm, making him glance down at you
“I did not take anything”
“On the planet. But you couldn’t know. We all didn’t. Now let’s get you to bed and tomorrow everything will be better” also Kirk now arrived in the lab and was asking what was going on, whereupon he received a briefing from the doctor.
“And he’s fine now?”
“He’s always been fine. But (Y/N) should keep an eye on him, just in case. But I don’t think something will happen. I’d take some blood but I have the impression that in his state he will not allow it”
“What if you wait until the sedative you gave him works?”
“Of course we could but as far as I can see he’s fine. Just not used to being drunk. I only thought we could find out what put him in that state. Maybe we’ll have to take some blood if he gets worse which he shouldn’t”
“Okay, that’s great to hear” you said with a nod and when you saw, how your husband slightly slackened you took hold of his arm
“It’s starting wo work” the nurse commented and you tried to lead him back to your shared quarters which you only could when also Kirk took hold of him and helped you. Together you more or less dragged Spock back to your quarters and after asking if you could manage, the Captain left you.  Spock pulled you to the bed, sat down on its edge and after you were in his lap, he embraced you tightly.
“Careful” you muttered “Don’t forget how strong you are and your thousand lectures about how you could snap all my bones just like that” he didn’t reply but nuzzled the side of your neck. “How about you let me get ready for bed and then we can lie down and cuddle until we fall asleep?” again he did nothing so you let out a sigh “Aren’t you tired?”
“Not very much. However, I wish to hold you longer”
“You can also do that when we’re trying to fall asleep?” now his arms disappeared and you got up, getting out of your clothes, when you heard the bathroom door close. “Please just don’t continue your experiment” you muttered as you put on a top for in the bed. You sat down on the bed, taking out a PADD to read an article before Spock returned but again he stayed in the bathroom. After fifteen minutes you put your device aside and knocked at the door but got no answer, so you opened it. You had to cover your mouth to not burst out laughing. He was cuddling his robes he had discarded earlier against his chest and was fast asleep on the bathroom floor. Of course you knew that you wouldn’t be able to bring him back to bed so you returned to your bedroom, got your blanket and spread it over him. For a while you stood there, looking down at him and considering if you should join him or spend the night in bed before you sighed and grabbed your pillow to lie down beside him as well.
-
It was one of the first times in your marriage that you woke up before Spock. But knowing he’d probably be awake any time, you waited for him with breakfast. When he appeared in the door frame you had to bite back a chuckle because you had never seen him so disheveled.
“Morning” you greeted, putting your PADD aside
“Morning, (Y/N)” he replied with a nod. “I cannot find a logical explanation why I have woken up in the bathroom”
“Because you fell asleep there. Bam, logic” you got up and walked to the replicator “Water or tea?”
“Then I cannot recall why I would have chosen the bathroom floor as suitable place to spend the night”
“Oh well I can’t answer that either. But I might have an idea”
“That is?” he asked, walking to the bed to put the blanket on it, of course folding it neatly before taking a new uniform from his wardrobe.
“You don’t remember?”
“I am not certain I understand what you are referring to”
“Well” you grinned, getting your own breakfast, “I guess I’d better tell you before Kirk surprises you with made up stories about your half-naked adventures in the rec room. Come to think of it, you might want to make sure he doesn’t find the video”
“Which video?” if he hadn’t been shocked before he definitely was now. The intercom beeped and Spock answered it
“How’re you doing, druggie?”
“I do not understand your reference”
“You don’t remember? Pity, I’d love to see your face. I could tell you everything but I guess that (Y/N) knows a few more details. In fact I’d love to hear the whole story. Anyways, I just called to let you know I pulled a few strings to let you take off this morning, Spock”
“I do not see…”
“And I don’t care. I won’t let you come to the bridge. Oh and Bone’s awaiting you in Med Bay he said” the call ended and Spock looked at you as if he was lost.
“It seems there something you should tell me”
“Yeah” you gestured at his chair “I know Vulcan got nerves of steel, not anatomically, but you might better sit before I start”

I’ve Got You Under My Skin
Fandom: Star Trek (AOS/TOS). Pairing:  Reader x Bones. Prompt: Requested by @trekken81 – Bones fluff. Word Count: 3713. Warnings: None. Rating: Teen+. Author’s Note: Sorry this took so long, darlin’!  This semester has been kicking my ass.  I hope you like this!  Soulmate AU – tattoos.
I’ve Got You Under My Skin You take a deep breath as you climb out of the shuttle that has just delivered you to your new post as head nurse on the U.S.S. Enterprise.  Looking around, you’re already thrown by the ship’s grandeur – its shuttle bay alone is easily three times the size of the one on the Enyo.  As your gaze travels back down from the ceiling, you’re met with the sight of the captain, the first officer, and another man standing in the doorway to the rest of the ship. “Welcome aboard,” he addresses you and the handful of other new crew members standing around you.  “My name is James Tiberius Kirk and I’ll be your new captain. To my right is Commander Spock, my first officer, and to my left you’ll find our Chief Medical Officer, Dr. Leonard McCoy.  I trust you’re all ready to devote yourselves to this ship and its mission.” You and the others nod and the captain continues with a bright and easy smile.
“A formal welcome will be had in the commissary this evening,” he explains.  “In the meantime, Yeoman Tsang will show you to your quarters.  As soon as you’re settled in, please report to medical for your intake assessments.  Once Dr. McCoy clears you for duty, you may report to your stations for orientation, and I’ll see you all in the mess at 1900 hours.” The captain takes his leave, followed by the two other officers, and a young, bright-eyed Yeoman rushes forward, allowing you just enough time to collect your bags before leading you off on a brief tour of the ship.  Your mouth hangs open in awe the whole time – you’d spent the first several years of your career assigned to a much smaller ship and you still can’t wrap your mind around your transfer to the fleet’s flagship. As the Yeoman gives you the passcode to your quarters and admits you, you think back on everything that has led you to where you are now.  Your tenure on the Enyo, the battle that broke her, the weeks in recovery after you’d been beamed off of the vessel as shrapnel from a core explosion tore through your body.  You hadn’t expected to survive, but with the best doctors in the universe at their disposal, Starfleet had made sure you would live to see another voyage.  You had recently been cleared for duty and promptly assigned to the Enterprise. You’ve heard stories about your new ship’s CMO. He’s rumored to have the steadiest hands and the coolest countenance in the fleet, but he’s also been described as abrasive and harsh.  You’re not overly concerned, however; after the things you’ve lived through in your service to the fleet, you can handle working under a man with an attitude. Stowing away your few personal belongings before changing into a regulation uniform, you look yourself over in the mirror for good measure and then slip out of your quarters.  You make sure to glance around and take notice of everything on your way down to the med bay so that you have no trouble navigating back to your quarters later and before long you reach your destination. You can’t help but look around as you cross the threshold and make your way to the central desk: you’ve never seen an infirmary so pristine, well-stocked, and state of the art.  Your unit on the Enyo had been good, but this is magnificent. Your mouth is agape again and you remain at a loss for words until a voice from somewhere below you catches your attention. “Nurse Y/L/N, I presume?”  The nurse at the desk asks with a smile. You nod. “Yes, I’m here to see Dr. McCoy,” you reply. “He’s with one of the other new crew members, but he’ll be with you shortly,” the nurse says warmly.  “In the meantime, allow me to introduce myself.  I’m Alice; I’m the most senior nurse on staff now that Nurse Chapel has left us, and I’ll be your second hand.  If you need anything at all, please just let me know!” You smile gratefully at the woman and nod. “Thank you,” you say softly.  “And please, call me Y/N.  I’m not much for formality unless it’s inspection day.” You wink, earning yourself a giggle from the other woman, and turn as you hear an exam room door sliding open.  You watch as one of the men from the earlier shuttle ride steps out and is followed by Dr. McCoy.  The two seem to be speaking jovially enough and you feel a little bit of your tension ease.  Still, when Dr. McCoy’s gaze turns to you, you can’t help but straighten up to stand a little taller, a little more rigidly. “Dr. McCoy,” you greet the man, holding out a hand for a shake.  “It’s a pleasure to finally meet you.” He takes your hand and you’re surprised by how warm his palm feels against yours as the two of you shake.  You’re not sure why you’re astonished – perhaps because you’d been expecting a physical chill to go with the cold personality you’d heard tell of – but you smile all the same as he releases his grip. Gesturing to the room next to the one he’d just vacated, he gestures for you to go ahead. “The pleasure’s all mine,” he says in kind. “Just have a seat and we can get this over with quickly.” You nod as you step through the doorway and you make your way to the bio bed.  You take a steadying breath before climbing onto it, the memories from after the Enyo’s destruction still fresh in your mind, and take your seat.  The doctor ensures the door is closed before moving to lean against the counter opposite you, regarding you as he picks up his PADD and pulls up your records. “I’ll make this easy on you since I’ve got all of the information from the physical you had just the other week in here,” he explains.  “Unless you’ve got any new and pressing concerns?” You shake your head, glancing around the room and taking notice of all of the equipment you’ve been trained on but had not yet had the opportunity to use during your previous assignment. “What about your mental health?”  He asks.  “Have you been having nightmares?  Flashbacks?” “They’re becoming less frequent,” you reply honestly.  “I was cleared for duty, doctor, and I assure you I’m capable of performing whatever tasks the job demands.” The doctor chuckles softly, setting his PADD aside and taking a step closer to you. “I’m not questioning your fitness for duty, Y/N,” he assures you.  “I just want to know what’s going on.  The more you tell me, the better a position I’m in to help with whatever you need. If we’re going to be working together, I need you to be honest with me and unafraid to talk about the hard stuff when the situation arises.” You stare at him for a long moment before relaxing as you realize that he really, sincerely is just trying to be supportive after what you’ve been through.  You smile, just a tiny upturn of the corners of your mouth, and watch as the doctor activates the bio bed you’re seated on.  You comply easily with everything he asks you to do – it’s all old hat to you by now -  and he’s gentle with you as he works.  The exam is over in the blink of an eye.   “Everything looks fine, Y/N,” the doctor comments, making a few notes on his PADD.  “Do you have any questions for me before we wrap this up and adjourn to my office to talk about your duties?” You’re about to shake your head but a thought crosses your mind and you refrain.  You chew your lower lip for a moment, pondering whether or not what you have to ask is important enough to bother with, but since the worst the doctor can say is no, you decide to give it a try. “I do have one thing,” you begin, continuing when he glances up, giving you his full attention.  “It’s vain and really unimportant, but…  After the Enyo’s destruction, it was all they could do to put us all back together and secondary procedures kind of fell by the wayside. I had Dr. Lawson take a crack at some of the scarring with a dermal regenerator later on, but there was only so much he was able to do.  Most of it is fine, but there’s a bit of scarring I’d really like to have you take a look at.  I’ve heard great things about you, and I’m hoping maybe you can touch it up a little bit.” The doctor glances up from his PADD to consider you and you blush a little bit.  You suddenly feel self-conscious as he steps closer to you and you hesitate, not wanting to pull your sleeve up to show him the scarring you’re talking about just yet: the scarring that’s marred your soulmate tattoo. Before your accident, it had been a beautiful work of art with crisp lines and perfect curves.  It’s centered on your right wrist and wrapped around your lower arm, tendrils extending from the main body of the image.  It’s clean and simple, yet complex enough to be interesting, and moreover, it’s your favorite part of yourself.  At least, it had been before.  Now it’s marred and damaged, and if you’d been worried about never finding your soulmate before the injury, you’re even more worried now that it’s nearly unrecognizable as what it had originally been. “Show me,” the doctor instructs, and you snap out of your reverie with a soft gasp. Nodding, you pull your sleeve up to your elbow, supinating your hand so that he can see the tattoo and the damage that’s been done to it.  You keep still as he reaches out to take your arm in his steady hands, his fingertips gently brushing over the scarring and the jet black, albeit faded, pigment beneath it.  You can feel your pulse reverberating off of his fingers where he’s gripping your wrist to steady it and you swallow thickly as he says nothing for several long moments. “So can you fix it?”  You ask when the silence becomes too much, worried about what he’s going to say. “Well I can,” he begins, glancing up to meet your gaze.  “But there’s something you need to see first.” You’re surprised at yourself when you miss his touch the moment it’s gone, and you watch as he takes a couple of steps back away from the table.  You’re not sure what’s going on, but when his hands go for his belt buckle, your eyes widen. “Dr. McCoy?”  You ask tentatively.  “What, exactly, do I need to see?” It feels like you’re in some kind of a bad comedy as his belt comes away and his zipper follows.  You’re about to avert your gaze as he drops his pants down to his knees but you stop when you catch sight of a few wispy tendrils of black pigment wrapping around his thigh.  You’re still staring as he turns slowly to reveal the outside of his left leg and the image that’s in the skin there. “Y/N, you need to breathe for me,” the doctor says gently, and you don’t even realize that you’ve forgotten how until that moment. You suck in a quick, deep breath as the gears turn in your mind.  Hopping down from the bio bed you slowly edge closer to the doctor, ignoring the fact that he’s in his briefs as you stoop down to get a better look at his tattoo. Holding your right arm out in front of you for reference even though the design has been burned into your mind for years, you compare the two pieces of art. Where your tattoo is damaged, disrupted, and disfigured from the burns you’d sustained during your rescue, so, too, is his. His is less noticeably marred, but still perfectly so.  His tattoo also hasn’t faded like yours has from the loss of tissue overlying it, but it’s unmistakable. Reaching out, you gently brush his tattoo with your fingertips, the light dusting of hair on his thigh tickling your hand as you connect with him.  You hazard a glance upward and find him staring down at you. “I’ve been wondering what happened,” the CMO murmurs, holding out a hand to help you to your full height again.  “I came back to my quarters after a late shift one night and found it all disfigured.  I knew something must have happened.  Now I know.” You smile weakly, trembling a little as the implications of what’s just transpired sink in.  You’ve just met your soulmate.  Your soulmate is none other than the legendary Dr. Leonard McCoy. You step back a little, away from him, so you can lean against the bio bed as your knees get weak.  At the same time, he quickly pulls his slacks back up and buttons them into place like nothing had ever happened before taking a tentative step toward you again. “I can’t even imagine how much pain you went through,” he says softly, reaching out to take one of your hands and squeezing it reassuringly.  “You must have been in hell, darlin’.” For the first time you notice the faint lilting of a Southern accent in his voice and you smile.  The expression is brighter and more sincere this time, and you shrug. “It was worth it,” you murmur.  “All that pain, all that heartache… it helped me find you.  If my last ship hadn’t been destroyed, we might never have met.  I was almost convinced you didn’t even exist, it’s been so long.” “Well the wait’s over,” Leonard assures you, inching in until he’s standing flush with you, pinning you to the bed. Taking the hand he has held in his, he brings it up to his chest, flattening your palm over his heart where it’s pounding away as hard as yours is.  He’s warm, soft, and vital.
“I’m right here, darlin’,” he nearly whispers, leaning in close.  “And I’m not going anywhere.” Sensing that you’re comfortable with his proximity, he lets go of your hand and winds his arms around you, pulling you in close and just holding you in a protective, possessive embrace.  You melt into him like you’ve been meant to all along and inhale his scent – a heady mixture of antiseptic and aftershave. You tuck your head into his neck and feel his cheek come to rest atop it. You’re not sure how long the two of you stay like that, just feeling one another, but eventually the doctor begins to pull away.  You let go of him reluctantly and gaze up into his lovely, soulful hazel eyes across the short distance between the two of you. “As much as I’d like to shirk my duties in favor of getting to know you, I’ve got a few physicals left to perform,” he says with a wry smile.  “But I’d still like for us to get acquainted.  I’ll have Alice keep you busy with a tour of the place for a while, and then we can talk.” “Sounds good, doc,” you say with a smile, earning yourself a chuckle from him. “I suppose we ought to dispense with formality if we’re meant to be together,” he says with a wink that makes your knees weak. “It’s Leonard, darlin’.” “Leonard,” you repeat, rolling the name around in your mouth, testing it out. You can tell he likes the way it sounds coming from you by the slight crinkling at the corner of his eyes when it rolls off of your tongue.  He moves toward the door, extending an arm, gesturing for you to make your way out ahead of him.  You push away from the bio bed and precede him back out into the med bay, clasping your hands in front of you as you consider your tattoo again in a whole new light. He leads you over to Alice and you spend the next couple of hours getting an official run down on how things work in the med bay while your mind continues to reel.  You’re confident in your abilities and ready to get right into things starting on Alpha the next day, but you’re finding it hard to concentrate with the weight of finally having met your soulmate sitting on your shoulders. You’re not complaining – it’s a warm, reassuring weight, like a lover’s arm draped there – but you’re a little overwhelmed. You’re both nervous and excited when Leonard steps out of the exam room having finished with his last patient of the day. You join him in his office as he gestures you over and you’re about to sit down in the chair opposite his desk when he takes your hand and tugs you toward the couch at the side of the room instead.  You allow yourself to be led there and you sit down at an angle so that it’s easier to face him.  Your knee is bumping his as he joins you and you flush a little as he reaches out to rest a gentle palm on your thigh. “Are you getting settled in alright?”  He asks. You nod, clasping your hands in your lap, feeling like a schoolgirl in love with the school’s golden boy.  It’s been a long time since you’ve been in any sort of relationship and you’re so anxious you swear he must be able to hear your heart the way it’s pounding along in your ribcage. “Everyone seems very nice,” you murmur.  “I feel like I’m going to fit in here just fine.” His grip on your leg tightens a bit. “I’ll make sure of it,” he assures you.  “I plan on keeping you around a long time, darlin’.” Your eyes trace his features, falling on the lines around his eyes and at the corners of his mouth, the greens, browns, and golds in his irises, the angle of his jaw.  He’s a handsome man and you can tell by the warmth in his gaze that he’s got a kind heart, his reputation be damned.  You’re distracted from your ponderings as he moves, reaching out to take your hand. “May I?”  He asks softly. You nod and offer it up, watching him push up your sleeve so he can get a closer look at your tattoo again.  His fingers are so gentle it’s like his touch is barely there but it’s enough to make a shiver run through you and goosebumps spring up on your arms.  You close your eyes and inhale sharply as his fingertips gently trace the design, leaving a burning sensation in their wake.  Your whole world is suddenly reduced to the parts he’s in contact with and you keep your eyes shut tightly, enjoying the way his fingers are exploring your wrist, your forearm. At first, you think you’re imagining it. You can feel a heat creeping up in your neck, your face, and you think you might be blushing.  You inhale, though, and realize that it’s not you – Leonard’s scent fills your head and makes you dizzy.  Opening your eyes, you gasp softly as you realize Leonard is leaning in close and his breath is what’s warming you.   “Too close?”  He queries, his voice nearly inaudible. “N-no,” you breathe. You meet his gaze as he drags his eyes up from where they’d been lingering on your lips.  Your breath is coming in short bursts as your mind reels and if he hadn’t heard your thundering heartbeat before, you’re sure he can feel your pulse in the wrist that he’s holding now, fluttering away. You’re both surprised and not as he closes the last of the distance between the two of you, pressing his lips to yours. His hand drops your wrist, moving up your arm instead until he reaches your neck.  His other hand comes up to meet the first and he envelops the column of your throat, his thumbs stroking gently just beneath your jawline as he deepens the kiss. Responding in kind, you slowly bring your shaky hands up to his neck, the five o’clock shadow on his jaw rasping against your fingertips.  You’re reassured to feel his pulse racing away against your hands just as quickly as your own and in a strangely paradoxical way it calms you. You break the kiss moments later as you run out of air completely.  You keep your eyes closed, tipping your forehead forward until it rests against his, and drag in a few deep, cleansing breaths. “I could get used to that,” you whisper. The doctor laughs and straightens, leaving you with nothing much to do aside from opening your eyes.  You blink in the room’s bright lights and consider him silently. The flush in his cheeks is endearing, and his lips are as swollen from the kissing as yours feel. “Good,” Leonard murmurs.  “Because there’s plenty more where that came from.” You spend the rest of the evening together talking, laughing, sharing a meal in his quarters.  You’re so taken with him that you miss the captain’s formal welcome. Leonard ends the questions he gets via comm message with a quick and clipped statement about having too much to go through with you to bother with all the pomp and circumstance which thankfully appears to mollify the captain. The two of you fall asleep on the couch, Leonard with his feet propped on the coffee table and his head drooping back onto the cushions and you curled up at his side, using his chest as a makeshift pillow.  In the morning, where it would have been awkward to wake up like you do with anyone else, it feels natural and familiar with Leonard and you take it as a sure sign that things are finally falling into place for you.   As you get ready for the day, you can’t help but smile at the new life you’ve found on the Enterprise.  You’d come for the work, but you’re staying for the connection you’ve been destined for since the day you’d been born.  You can’t wait to see where the future takes you.

Logos and Pathos (Book 3) Chapter Thirty-One
TOS! Spock x Empath! Reader
Chapter Thirty-One: Bond of Love
Summary: The marriage of Spock and (Y/N) arrives.
“Remember, Spock,” said Amanda, dusting off Spock’s shirt. It was blue and a formal Vulcan outfit. It was fit for a wedding. After all, that was what he was preparing for. “Marriage is a big step in a relationship. You must always remember it is not the end goal of your relationship but the beginning of an even more important part.”
            “Yes, Mother,” said Spock.
“So, treat (Y/N) right every day. And make sure they know you love them,” said Amanda. She smiled at her son. “I’m so proud of you. And so happy. You two are so good for each other.” She squeezed his arm before walking out of the room.
Sarek and Spock were left in the room as Spock examined himself in the mirror and once more made sure he was presentable. Then, he turned and faced his father.
“Spock,” said Sarek, as official and formal as ever.
            “Father,” said Spock.
“After the…incident with T’Pring, the question of your marriage has been of some consideration for your mother and I,” said Sarek.
“I am aware that you all intended me to marry T’Pring and that (Y/N) is not a Vulcan,” said Spock.
Sarek raised a hand, and Spock stopped. “Your choice is no issue. It never would be.” That was as close as Sarek would come to saying that what he wanted was for his son to be happy. “And (Y/N) is an efficient, intelligent officer. They are very suitable.”
Spock nodded. This was Sarek’s approval (and it was quite the approval. It was Sareks version of saying “(Y/N) is a good choice, and I’m glad you’re marrying them”). Both of his parents liked (Y/N) and were happy for the pair (even without saying it, Spock knew).
Sarek nodded in return to Spock and raised his hand in the Vulcan salute. “Live long and prosper, Spock. Together with your spouse.”
Spock returned the gesture. “Thank you, Father.”
Sarek nodded and exited. A moment later, Spock walked out and moved towards the garden of one of Celia’s parks. Flower bushes and trees lined the paths, and Spock made his way towards the canopy of petals woven for fiancés to stand below and marry.
“How are you feeling?” said Kirk, peeling off from where he’d been sitting in the chairs set out for guests.
“Captain, I would think by now you would know that sort of question is unnecessary,” said Spock.
Kirk waved a hand. “Eh, sure, but it’s your wedding day, Spock. Aren’t you excited?”
“I am…pleased,” said Spock, the slight acknowledgement of his anticipation of marrying the love of his life all he would give as a Vulcan.
“I’m so happy for you,” said Kirk, grinning. “And you and (Y/N) are perfect for each other.”
“Thank you for your words, Captain,” said Spock, inclining his head. “And thank you for accompanying me to my wedding as a friend.”
“Of course, Spock. You’re like my brother,” said Kirk, smiling.
“Hey, Spock,” said Bones, walking up in his own formal wear. He crossed his arms. “Listen, I know you and (Y/N) are head-over-heels, out-of-your-minds in love.”
“Doctor, your need for exaggeration astounds me,” said Spock, but the words had the underlying fondness that Spock and Bonse always had for each other.”
“Yeah, yeah, whatever,” said Bones. “My point is…you two are annoyingly in love, and I’m happy for you.” He narrowed his eyes. “But if you hurt (Y/N), I’m gonna use you to learn where Vulcan organs are.”
Spock raised an eyebrow. “Doctor, the threats are unnecessary. I intend no harm to (Y/N).”
“Good,” said Bones. Then, he smiled and clapped Spock on the back. “Have a good marriage. I’m sure you guys will be great.” He walked off, and Kirk and Spock watched him go.
Kirk chuckled. “Even Bones is happy. Look at that.”
“Dr. McCoy has always chosen unorthodox ways of showing his feelings,” observed Spock. “How unusual.”
“How human,” teased Kirk. He patted Spock on the shoulder. “Now, come on, let’s get in place. It’s almost time.”
Spock nodded. “Indeed.” He was almost married to (Y/N).
l
“Oh, (Y/N), we’re so happy for you,” said Eirene, hugging her child and kissing their forehead.
“Spock and you are a great couple,” said Nikomedes. He squeezed (Y/N)’s hand. “An unusual choice to some people, but seeing you two together…Oh, darling, you’re so in love with him and so happy.”
“And that’s all that matters to us,” said Eirene. She smiled. “Your happiness.”
“Thanks, Mom, Dad,” said (Y/N), smiling. “I’m very happy. I love Spock so much, and even if some people can’t tell, he loves me. I’ve never had to doubt it.”
“Then you’re going to be very happy for the rest of your life,” said Eirene. She walked towards the door. “We’re so happy, darling. So happy.”
Nikomedes and Eirene walked out the door, and Uhura peeked her head in.
“(Y/N), you look breathtaking,” said Uhura, smiling.
“So do you,” said (Y/N), smiling at their friend.
In Celian culture, a close friend walked the spouse to marry (familial love was involved in getting the person ready, then friends brought them to their romantic love. All types of love were involved and honored). Uhura had been honored when (Y/N) had explained that they couldn’t think of a friend they’d want more. She had been more than happy to accept.
“Thank you,” said Uhura, laughing lightly. She wore a long red dress. “I’m just happy to get a chance to dress up.” She winked. “And I’m happy for you to be getting married.”
            (Y/N) smiled. “Is everyone here?”
“Yeah. We’re all ready to go,” said Uhura. She extended a hand. “Are you ready to go?”
(Y/N) took it. “I am. I’m ready to be married.”
l
(Y/N) rounded the garden path and was faced with the aisle to the canopy Spock stood under. The guests at the wedding turned to watch them. Friends and family alike were there to support Spock and (Y/N) as they finally (finally) married. (Y/N) passed by T’Pring and Stonn (which was nice to see) and Regulus and Elias (who had matching rings on their ring fingers, coincidentally). They passed by Amanda and Sarek, Spock’s parents. On the other side of the isle sat Eirene, Nikomedes, Alekto, Merope, and Bones. Kirk waited to the ride of Spock, and Uhura held (Y/N)’s hand gently as she guided them towards Spock, their beloved.
(Y/N) stepped up onto the dais, and the canopy of flowers opened up in a blooming swirl of petals. Sunlight shone down on the couple and highlighted their beauty, but they only looked at each other. (Y/N) admired the intricate details of Spock’s formal Vulcan attire, and Spock simply stared at the cream gown floating around (Y/N) that glowed with the same gold of their eyes and aura. Neither had ever found another person so attractive, and they had never been so in love with each other.
No, that would be a lie. They always loved each other as deeply as a person could. That never changed.
The Celian officiant stepped forward first. “We are gathered here today to see the union of (Y/N) and Spock.” She raised her hands to Kirk and Uhura. “May we have the rings?”
Kirk and Uhura extended their hands to Spock and (Y/N), and each person took one.
“(Y/N), with this ring you give Spock your loyalty and your love. Do you understand that the bond between you entwines your emotions, your minds, and your hearts in their entirety?” said the Celian officiant.
“I do,” said (Y/N), smiling. The ring in their hand was gold and had a blue stone, the exact shade of Spock’s aura. It glowed for a moment before fading.
“Then do you accept this bonding of heart and mind in matrimony?” said the Celian officiant.
“I do,” said (Y/N), completely confident in their choices.
“And you, Spock, with this ring you give (Y/N) your loyalty and your love. Do you understand that the bond between you entwines your emotions, your minds, and your hearts in their entirety?” asked the Celian officiant.
“I do,” said Spock, voice monotone as ever but completely at ease. His gaze didn’t leave (Y/N)’s. The gold ring with a Vokaya stone glowed for a moment.
“Then do you accept this bonding of heart and mind in matrimony?”
“I do.” Spock wouldn’t have it any other way.
“You may exchange the rings and accept your bond,” said the Celian officiant.
(Y/N) held out their hand, and Spock slipped the Vokaya ring onto their finger. (Y/N) then placed their ring onto his. The instant they both wore it, they felt the beginnings of their psychic bond beginning as their marriage and devotion tied them together.
The Celian officiant stepped back, and the Vulcan officiant stepped forward.
“Raise your right hands,” he said.
Spock and (Y/N) obeyed, their left hands with rings staying by their sides. One side for the Celians, the other for the Vulcans. Spock and (Y/N) merged traditions just as they came together in marriage.
“You may touch fingers,” said the Vulcan officiant.
(Y/N) and Spock touched their first two fingers to one another.
“You are about to enter into the deepest connection a Vulcan may have—the marriage bond,” said the Vulcan. He looked between the two. “A psychic bond is not to be taken likely. Do you swear loyalty and respect to one another?”
“We do,” said (Y/N) and Spock.
“And do you swear to uphold the values of Vulcan and of Celia?” said the Vulcan officiant.
            “We do.”
“Then your minds may come together,” said the Vulcan officiant. “You may forge the marriage bond.”
(Y/N) and Spock closed their eyes.
“Your minds to each other. Let your minds connect. Forge the marriage bond,” said the Vulcan.
(Y/N) and Spock felt the threads started by the Celian traditions grow tighter, stronger as the Vulcan traditions bonded with them. They were marrying two cultures and two people. Their minds and emotions moved together, and although they separated and were individuals once more, Spock and (Y/N) could feel the connection between them.
Spock could feel (Y/N)’s love for him, and (Y/N) could feel how at peace Spock was with himself around them. The psychic bond was not invasive in the slightest. It was strong enough to tie them together forever, no matter how far apart they were, but it was gentle. Calm. Quiet.
It was the feeling of lying under the sun silently beside another person—warmth and companionship. It was everything (Y/N) and Spock could ask for. And it had all been created by their love.
They opened their eyes. Spock’s gaze softened. (Y/N) smiled.
“The marriage bond has been created,” said the Vulcan officiant.
The Celian officiant stepped up beside him again. “We give you the married couple, Spock and (Y/N).”
Amanda clapped happily, and Sarek, Stonn, and T’Pring nodded in approval. Regulus and Elias cheered and applauded. (Y/N)’s family and the Starfleet officers were the loudest, of course. They whooped and cheered, happy for their friends to be finally married and happy together.
(Y/N) laughed and curled their two fingers around Spock’s fondly. They were married. They were married. To Spock! The love of their life!
“I don’t think I could possibly be happier, Spock,” said (Y/N), smiling widely at him.
“I believe I would greatly enjoy kissing my dear spouse,” said Spock, eyes warm with love.
(Y/N) didn’t need the bond to feel his devotion. They smiled warmly. “Then kiss me, my husband.”
Spock leaned in and kissed them, pulling his fingers away from theirs only to pick them up bridal-style. But his lips never left theirs as he spun them around. Spock would love them forever. He knew that was the truest thought he’d ever had.
“I love you, (Y/N),” said Spock, separating only to speak for a moment.
“I love you, too, Spock,” said (Y/N), putting their hands around his neck and pulling him back in for a kiss, and Spock was only too happy to oblige.
Logos may appeal to logic, and pathos may appeal to emotion, but if there was one singular truth in the world, it was that (Y/N) and Spock loved each other, and it made perfect, logical sense for them to have such an emotion.
(Y/N) and Spock kissed each other with that emotion, full of the knowledge that their hearts and minds were one. They were in love.

Yeoman, huh?
Tumblr media
Intro: So this is a LONG LONG LONG overdue request from @annalisehartmann so I apologize a million times over and over for the lateness of this one.  But it’s super long so I hope that makes up for it!  And I kinda love it a lot so I hope it’s alright!
I guess I’ll start us off for the Trek Fest 2017!  Organized by the amazing @outside-the-government and the first week is all about Jim!  It just so happened that I finished this and scheduled it to post today, without even knowing it was June 1st lol.
Pairing: Jim x reader
Word Count: 4,300ish (haha whoops)
Summary: The reader is an accomplished yeoman assigned to the Enterprise to work with Jim Kirk. They only know of Kirk what comes from his reputation, which isn’t very good. But once they start working together, they realize the Captain is not all of what his reputation sets before him.  When aliens attack the ship, the reader gets caught up in the battle.  Are they willing to risk everything to save the man they are falling for?
Warning: very fluffy.  much fluff.
A/N: So my starting idea for this one is that the reader has the wrong idea about Jim, and goes into working with him with this idea.  I do not think Jim is any of the things the reader thinks, but that is just part of the story.
Also, I had to throw Scotty in there, of course I did.  He’s my fave, of course!
Let me know what you think about Jim’s characterization here, because I feel like it was more TOS than AOS (see notes at bottom for more).
-Enjoy!-
You knew you wanted to be a yeoman ever since you were little.
Every other kid wanted to be a doctor, or lawyer, or a captain.  But not you. You loved listening to the stories your mom told, as she was a yeoman herself, and you knew the position inside and out, even before you could pursue the career itself.   You wanted to be the right hand of the captain, helping to organize things and filter information, and set the captain straight as needed.
You had been top of your class at the Academy, and had been assigned to 5 different ships, 5 different captains in the 5 years since you graduated, and you loved every single minute of it.
After just finishing up a 6 month mission, you were excited to hear what your new assignment would be.
But when the name showed up on your PADD, you groaned.
“What?” Your best friend, Rowena, looked over your shoulder.
“I’m assigned to the Enterprise.” You informed, skimming over your new assignment.
“What?!  That’s amazing!” She shook your shoulder, but you gave a grunt.
“Yeah, so amazing, except I’ll have to work with the infamous Captain James T. Kirk.”  Your tone was laced with sarcasm.
“DUDE!” She slapped your arm excitedly and you scowled, “You are so lucky!  I’ve heard he’s super hot.”
Rowena sighed longingly and you threw your PADD onto the bed, flopping back onto it so you were staring at the ceiling.
“Yeah, sure, and an entitled, cocky, arrogant prick who just wants to get in every woman’s pants.”
Rowena flopped down beside you, “What’s so bad about that?  God knows you could use some.”
“Ro!” You gasped and slapped her arm, but you weren’t mad, this was just how she was, giving it to you straight and narrow.
“It’s true, Y/N.” She giggled, “how long is the mission?”
“Five years.” You raised your eyebrows in mirror to her expression and nodded.
“That’s a long time.”
“I know.”
Rowena turned suddenly onto her side, making the bed jump a little, “Y/N, you are the best yeoman that I have ever met.  You can, and you have, handled complete asshats that call themselves captains, so you will give this Captain Kirk a run for his money if he’s anything like people say.  You got this.”
You smiled.  She always knew exactly what to say, hopefully this time she was right.
The Enterprise was the most beautiful ship you had ever seen, let alone been on.  As you walked the halls, you tried to admire the architecture of the inside of the ship, but you couldn't too much because you were lost and couldn't find the bridge, where you were supposed to report.
You had to ask three separate times for directions and finally when you found it, Captain Kirk hadn't even arrived yet.  You drew into the back of the mingling crowd, pulling out your PADD to get ready to take notes.  You knew you probably didn't need to, but it was part of your job and it helped you focus.
After a few minutes, Captain Kirk finally arrived, hurrying through the lift doors onto the captain's platform, looking a little out of breath.  And his command gold shirt was on backwards.
He jumped right into his speech, oozing charisma and smiles as he spoke, and you dutifully took notes.  After the speech, you watched and waited until everyone had went up to Captain Kirk and introduced themselves, taking the time to observe your new captain.   He had golden blond hair and a dazzling smile, his posture sure-of-himself and welcoming, and you tried to match your previous notions about him to this man in front of you.
"I'm going to head down to get the preliminary reports from Scotty, com me if you need me." He spoke to Spock, the first officer.
"Captain Kirk?"
He smiled as you approached, and you were thrown off by the blue of his eyes, almost crystalline, and they crinkled around the edges when he smiled.
"I'm Y/N Y/L/N, your new yeoman." You extended your hand and he took it, shaking it firmly.
"Nice to meet you, Y/N, I'm sorry but I have to get down to engineering but we can get more acquainted when I get back." He nodded and took off in the direction of the lift.
"Captain?" You called.
He stopped.
"Are you familiar with the job description of a yeoman?" You asked, placing your hand on your hip.
He turned back to you, his eyebrow raised, and his gaze searching and confused.
"It includes retrieving reports and filtering information back to the captain." You informed, walking slowly up to the puzzled captain, "So I will go get these reports, and you can sit your pretty little behind in your chair and do whatever captains do."
You knew you probably shouldn't be so sassy with your tone on your first meeting with him, but you couldn't push the thought of his reputation out of your mind.
"Right, yep, I apologize, Y/N, I'll take a seat then, and you can go run and get those reports." Captain Kirk pursed his lips and slid back over to his chair, dipping his head and actually looking a little apologetic.
Walking over to stand next to his chair, you looked down at him, "I've been told that you have never had a yeoman before, and I am here to assure you I'm here for anything you need.  I've been around the block a few times before." You found yourself relaxing next to the smiling captain.
"Good to know, Y/N," He tilted his head as he looked up at you from his chair, "I look forward to working together."
You smiled down at him, "Oh, and Captain?" You mused, "Your shirt's on backwards."
His eyes widened and he glanced down at the shirt, already starting to pull on the sleeves as you retreated to the lift.
Add idiot to your list of adjectives to describe Jim Kirk.
You could quickly scratch that off your list as Jim Kirk was definitely not an idiot.
"What is the level the war core is running at?" Jim said as he read the report that you had retrieved.
"3.5.  Scotty said we are doing jus' fine." You pulled out the Scottish accent and it made Jim smile.
"And the radio connectivity of the generators?  Are they still within normal levels?"
"Yes, Ensign Heather said they were a little high the other day but they handled it."
"And the..."
"The pressure in the power cells has not exceeded maximum level." You recited, know knowing exactly what he was going to ask. Jim looked up at you, handing you back your PADD with a brush of his fingers on yours, and he seemed satisfied with your work.
You were getting used to delivering reports like this.  Every time you came back with a report from any part of the ship, he would question you on the details.  Like when you would return from engineering, you quickly learned to gather as much information as possible because he seemed to know everything about everything that came back to him.  He would ask what levels the warp core was set at, what the detailed numbers were involving radiowaves, and generators, and comlinks were.  Things that you had never even heard of.  But you learned quickly.
And it was kind of fun, learning all these new terms.  You always loved getting to work with a new captain, falling in step next to them, learning what they liked and disliked, how they ran things.  It was one of your favourite parts about the job.
You could also cross 'entitled' off your list, because most of the time he actually forgot you were there and would get up to go get something himself.  Most of the other captains you worked with had you running around like a madwoman, retrieving this and that, not excluding coffee runs and delivering personal messages.
But not Jim.  He thanked you each and every time you returned to the bridge with something for him, and when you brought him his lunch one time, because he had forgotten to go for a break, he insisted that you needn't do that for him.
“Captain, must I remind you, again, that it’s my job?” You teased, setting down his lunch tray.
“I know, but...”
“No buts, Captain, I am happy to do it.” The genuine tone of your voice surprised you, and it made Jim tilt his head to the side and squint his eyes at you curiously.
The gaze made heat rush to your cheeks, and you quickly ducked away, claiming you had notes to organize.
"Captain, I have the report you asked for from Dr. McCoy, as well as I filed the navigation charts for our next week's journey." You walked over towards the captain's chair, engrossed in a file on your PADD, but were stopped by a set of hands on your shoulders.
"You should watch where you're going, Y/N." You looked up to meet Jim's blue eyes near inches from your own.
You stepped back on instinct, "Sorry, Captain, I was just getting the next task sorted in my head."
He chuckled lowly, "You work too hard, Y/N, and I told you to call me Jim."
"Sorry, Jim, I'm just used to calling captains, Captain." You blushed, and thrust the PADD into Jim's hands, a little too roughly.
He gave you an amused side-eye and you felt yourself blush even more.
"I'd like to buy you a drink later, if you'll have me." Jim dropped his arm, the PADD swinging at his side, and your head sprung up at the statement.
"Uh... I..." You stammered, making the mistake to meet his eyes and you nearly swooned at the sight of the bright blue irises.
"I apologize if I have assumed too much, Y/N, you don't have to." His eyes turned downwards now, his stoic facade breaking only for a moment.
"No, Cap- I mean, Jim I would love to have a drink with you." You smiled up at him and his mouth stretched into a smile as well.
"Really?"
You nodded.
"Well then, we can head there after shift."
"Sounds like a plan." You chirped, butterflies set aflutter in your stomach which brought your voice up an octave, and you tried to hide it with a cough.
Jim just looked amused at how flustered you seemed, and you gave a quick shrug to your shoulders before nearly bolting for the lift doors.
"Ro, he's actually really nice." You were sprawled out on your bed with your com to your ear, just having returned from having drinks with Jim, and you were still all jittery from it.
You and him had talked all evening, and you could definitely now cross 'arrogant' off your list because he was the sweetest person, and the best listener, you had ever talked to.  The evening was spent chatting and laughing, with a few suggestive brushes of fingers and knees, but nothing too intimate, and he had walked you back to your quarters, bidding you goodnight, nothing more.
"Have you slept with him yet?" Rowena asked, and you snorted.
"No!  No, I haven't." You defended, grinning to yourself and biting your fist.
"But you've thought about it, right?"
"RO!"
"Okay, okay!  But I can hear it in your tone, you like him." She teased.
"I DO NOT!" You argued, with much less fight in your voice than you intended, "But he's a really good guy, okay, NOT that I'm going to sleep with him."
Rowena's giggles resounded through the com, and it made you laugh too.  You missed your best friend.
"I'm glad you're enjoying yourself, sweetie." Rowena giggled.
"Yeah," You thought of his crystal blue eyes and sweet smile, "me too."
The next day you arrived on shift, expecting a warm welcome by Jim, but he wasn't in his chair.  Asking First Officer Spock where the captain could be, he told you that he hadn't arrived on shift yet, which was very unlike Jim.  You waited patiently for him, busying yourself, your eyes constantly flicking back and forth from your work to the lift doors.
"I'm going to go check the engineering room to see if Jim's there." You said non-noncommittally, to no one in particular, and turned to stride out the door.
The hallways leading up to the engineering room were eerily quiet, and you found yourself tiptoeing on instinct, your pulse racing in your ears.
"Jim?" You called into the empty corridor with no response.
Reaching the door you found it ajar, the lights in the engineering room dark as you tentatively stuck your head in.  You were going to call out again when you heard the mumble of voices.  Stepping along the metal bridge that ran along the outside edge of the engineering room, you kept silent and clutched your PADD to your chest.
Then, finally, a few figures came into view and you froze, crouching down instinctively.  Holding your breath, you peered over the edge and saw five figures, two you recognized as Scotty and Jim, the others were dark, hooded aliens.  Jim and Scotty were nearly backed up against some boilers, the aliens pointing some large weapons at them, and they were talking, but it was too far away for you to hear anything.
Jim appeared to say something, looking very fierce and captain-ly, and the voice of the aliens grew louder, and they appeared to advance on Jim and Scotty.  Panic flood through you as Jim and Scotty pressed up against the boiler and the alien's weapons raised menacingly.
"JIM!"
The syllable was out of your mouth and echoing across the engineering room before you could stop it.
The attack on Jim and Scotty paused, and all heads spun in your direction. You froze, your mouth hanging open, in a half crouch on the metal bridge.
Jim looked at you for a moment, but then turned back to the aliens and swung at them.  He managed to get the weapon from the hands of the closest alien, who seemed to bark orders at the other two, and you go the message loud and clear, even though it was in whatever language they spoke.
Get the girl.
You gulped as you saw them dash for the stairs and you took off, and the last thing you saw was Jim’s eyes on you before you were out of view.
You had been in a few battles before, but you were usually told to get out of harm’s way and hide, because you had barely any fighting experience.  You had taken a few classes on self-defense, and practiced with Rowena at the gym in the Academy, but hadn’t had to use your skills much.
Why the thought of your and Ro’s gym matches were going through your mind at a time like this you had no idea, but you were snapped back into reality very quickly.  One of the aliens was coming down the bridge in front of you, and the other was coming from behind you.  You were trapped.
Adrenaline left your mouth dry and your limps shook, when you realized you still held your PADD in your hands.  Looking around you, you decided that your only way out was to go over the edge of the railing.
So in one fell swoop you tossed the PADD at the oncoming alien, it bouncing off him uselessly, but it made him stop for a second, giving you just enough time to hop over the railing and land on the top of the nearest boiler.
The aliens shouted at you as you skidded across the top of the slippery metal boiler, and let out a garbled scream when you slid to the edge.  You managed to get a hold on one of the metal railings sticking off the boiler, and you slammed into the side as you fell, your arm nearly being wretched from it’s socket as you dangled.
“Help!” You croaked, kicking out at the boiler to see if you could pull yourself up a bit, but it was no use.
“Let go, lass, I’ll catch ya!” A voice from below you, Scotty, with his arms raised and a cut down the side of his face.
“It’s too high!” You squeaked, your arm beginning to tremble from trying to hold up your weight.
Two loud clanks sounded over your head and you managed to look up, it was the ones who were trying to get to you, landing on the top of the boiler.
You heard Scotty swear from below you, and you saw his red shirt move out of view.
“Scotty!  What-” You started, but suddenly the boiler jerked and something clanked again, and you jostled against the side.
You heard, rather than saw the two aliens fall into the boiler, Scotty must have opened a panel in the top, and they were enveloped into the water which splashed over the side onto you, and you sputtered.
Their screams were unusually loud and pained for just behind immersed in water, and you shook as they beat the inside.  Your arm was beginning to burn and you cried out again when suddenly the shaking stopped.
“Well tha’s interesting.”
You met Scotty’s eyes, who had moved back to underneath you, “Scot-”
Your hand suddenly slipped, probably due to a mix of your tired muscles and the water-covered handle, and you fell, not even able to cry out and you landed directly on top of Scotty.  His form softened your fall a little, but knocked him to the ground, you on top of him, and you could hear his groans and curses.
Rolling off of him, you bent over on your hands and knees, gasping for air.
“Y/N?  Scotty?  Are you alright?” It was Jim’s voice now, and his knees came into view.
He took your collective groans and gasps as a ‘no’ and you felt a hand on your back as he tilted you back and his concerned blue eyes met yours.
“’m okay.  I landed on Scotty, so he must’a got the brunt of it.” You urged him, but let yourself be comforted by his gaze for a moment before you pushed him towards Scotty.
Scotty seemed to right himself quickly, though he was favouring his right side, a hand on his ribs, and you felt instantly bad.  You stood shakily, leaning on the side of the boiler.
“You have to get out of here, there is another group on the other side of the room, heading our way.” Jim’s voice cut through your struggle and his hand found your shoulder.
“There’s more of them?!” You rasped, bending over to catch your breath.
“You get out of here, Y/N, I’m serious.  Go.” He placed his hand on your back and you straightened up.
“No, I can help, they don’t like water, Jim, it dissolved the other two aliens, we can stop them-.”
“No, go, now.  That’s an order.” His gaze was fierce and insistent, but you thought you could see a touch of pleading in his expression.
You only nodded and moved to Scotty, tugging on his arm to get him to follow you.
You met Jim’s eyes one last time as you retreated, silently begging the universe to let you be able to see those blue eyes again.
Once you were out of sight you turned to Scotty, stopping suddenly.
“We have to flood the engineering room.” You met the engineer’s wide eyes.
“But Jim said-”
“I don’t care what Jim said, we can’t just leave him to defeat an army of aliens all on his own.  He’ll die.” Your voice cracked on the last word, and Scotty raised an eyebrow at you.
“Alrigh’.” He nodded. “There’s a way.  As soon as I saw those things get all washed away inside tha’ boiler, I knew what we needed t’a do.  Follow me.”
You gave Scotty a nervous, but appreciative smile as you followed him deep into the engineering room.
A few minutes later, a plan was devised and you and Scotty were in position.
You were up on the metal bridge again, tucked into the side of it, and you watched with horror as the army of aliens mad there way towards Jim, who seemed to be limping.
“Y’a ready, lass?” Scotty’s voice came through your com.
Though you swear you’d never felt your heart beat this fast before, you gulped and nodded, “Ready.”
“Ok, go.”
At those words you surged forward, dashing along the metal bridge, your feet landing heavily and loudly as you ran, which didn’t concern you at all, because that was kind of the point.
“HEY!  STUPID ALIEN PEOPLE!  OVER HERE!” You yelled at the top of your lungs, and all eyes turned to you once again, the alien group changing direction and heading your way, away from Jim.
“NOW SCOTTY!” You screamed and grabbed onto the railing for dear life.
The whole room seemed to shudder, and there was an impossibly loud set of creaking, which you knew were the boilers opening and beginning to overflow.
“Jim!  Jim, get up!  Onto the ledge!” You urged, meeting his eyes with a flash of panic, having realized that you forgot to warn him.
His form was small from your high perch, but he paused for only a second before rushing to the nearest set of stairs and beginning to climb, quickly getting lost in the sea of metal stairs and railings.
Water rushed into the room, starting to flow across the floor, and you silently begged it to go faster, as the aliens were starting to realize that something was wrong and were heading in your direction.
But your pleading seemed to work as another wave of water rushed across the floor and soon reached the feet of the aliens.  Very quickly they were screeching and scattering, trying to get away from the water, but it was no use, your plan was a success.
Scotty had locked the exit doors, sealed them so the water didn’t leak across the ship, but also so the aliens had no where to go.
You sank to the floor, your hands pressed to your ears, as the screeching was so bad and loud that it was almost painful.  Peeking a glance to the aliens, you could see they were dropping like flies, slowly being disintegrated into dark blobs in the water, some of them trying to dash back to where you assumed their ship boarded, but they slipped and fell and were soon washed away.
Suddenly the room when quiet.  You could tell when Scotty shut off the water, because the creaking stopped, and the water seemed to settle.
You let out a breath you didn’t know you had been holding and pressed your head back against the railing, dropping your hands from your ears.
You did it.
Relief flooded through you as you shakily stood, and suddenly another, quieter set of yelling met your ears.  It brought a smile to your mouth when you realized it was Scotty whooping in success from across the room.
You whooped once in response and pumped your fist in triumph as you slowly made your way across the bridge again, your limps still shaky as the adrenaline began to wane.
You stopped suddenly when you realized there was another form at the end of the bridge in front of you.  This one was not a dark, scary alien, but a gold-shirted Jim Kirk, his eyes set in a glare and fists were clenched at his side as he made his way across the bridge.
"That was stupid, really stupid." Jim mumbled as he stalked towards you, looking very angry, and it took you aback.
"Jim-" You started.
"So goddamn brave but so stupid." He was getting closer now and you took a step back, unsure of how to react.
"I'm sorry." You were frozen in place.
Jim didn't respond, instead he placed a hand on either side of your head and crushed his lips to yours in a kiss.  It took you a few seconds to react, as his action was so surprising, but you eventually leaned into him, wrapping your arms around his waist to pull him closer, deepening the kiss.  It was a few moments of pure bliss.  You had just beat the aliens, saved your captain and probably the entire ship, and now Jim Kirk was kissing you.  It was exhilarating.
Pulling back to breathe, you moved your arms to wrap around his neck to keep him close, his hands sliding down to your hips now.
“Wow.” You breathed, “I should rescue you more often.”
His touched his forehead to yours, and he let an exhale out, a soft smile pulling at the corner of his mouth.
“Thank you, Y/N.” He said and gave you another soft kiss, barely a brush of his lips against yours, “But promise me you’ll never put yourself in danger like that again.”
You could only nod and you reached up, pushing his hair back over his ear, and he closed his eyes at the touch.
You took the opportunity to lean in and press another gentle kiss to his lips, a shiver running down your spine, which you could attribute to either the feeling of his hands on your waist or the fact that you were still soaking wet from the water from the boiler.
“Shouldn’t you reprimand me for disobeying a direct order?” You tilted your head at him playfully.
A smile, “We’ll talked about that later.”
He pressed a kiss to your temple and slung his arm around your shoulders, leading you across the bridge, the way he came.
“We better go find Scotty and get him and you to the medbay.” Jim said dutifully and you gave his side a squeeze, leaning into his warmth.
“And talk to him about how we’re going to clean up this mess.” You noted, looking out to the foot of murky brown water that covered the engineering room floor.
Jim huffed a laugh and helped you ease down the stairs on to the next level, nearing where Scotty was.
And in that moment, with his arm slung around your shoulders and his around your waist, you knew, with a rush of clarity, that Jim Kirk was nothing like you expected, but everything you needed.

NOTES ON THE CHARACTERIZATION OF JIM KIRK (ignore if you wish):
I really struggled with this one for a while.  I wrote a bunch of it all at once, and it just didn’t sit right, so I left it for a while, because I dreaded going back to write it.
But as I re-read it, I began to like it more and more, and found I really liked it.
I feel like Jim was more TOS than AOS in this one.  For some reason I couldn’t put my thumb on AOS Jim’s character this time around, so this feels more TOS to me (even though I heartily ship TOS Spirk).
Please let me know what you thought of his character, if it was true to him or not.
Maybe it’s because I’ve been writing and focusing a lot more on Scotty lately, that I feel like I am losing my grip on his (and Bones’ for that matter) character, and this is me easing back into it?  I don’t know.  But I like this story even so.
