"The world's coral reefs are close to 25 percent larger than we thought. By using satellite images, machine learning and on-ground knowledge from a global network of people living and working on coral reefs, we found an extra 64,000 square kilometers (24,700 square miles) of coral reefs – an area the size of Ireland.

That brings the total size of the planet's shallow reefs (meaning 0-20 meters deep) to 348,000 square kilometers – the size of Germany. This figure represents whole coral reef ecosystems, ranging from sandy-bottomed lagoons with a little coral, to coral rubble flats, to living walls of coral.

Within this 348,000 km² of coral is 80,000 km² where there's a hard bottom – rocks rather than sand. These areas are likely to be home to significant amounts of coral – the places snorkelers and scuba divers most like to visit.

You might wonder why we're finding this out now. Didn't we already know where the world's reefs are?

Previously, we've had to pull data from many different sources, which made it harder to pin down the extent of coral reefs with certainty. But now we have high resolution satellite data covering the entire world – and are able to see reefs as deep as 30 meters down.

We coupled this with direct observations and records of coral reefs from over 400 individuals and organizations in countries with coral reefs from all regions, such as the Maldives, Cuba, and Australia.

To produce the maps, we used machine learning techniques to chew through 100 trillion pixels from the Sentinel-2 and Planet Dove CubeSat satellites to make accurate predictions about where coral is – and is not. The team worked with almost 500 researchers and collaborators to make the maps.

The result: the world's first comprehensive map of coral reefs extent, and their composition, produced through the Allen Coral Atlas. [You can see the interactive maps yourself at the link!]

The maps are already proving their worth. Reef management agencies around the world are using them to plan and assess conservation work and threats to reefs."

I'm slowly making my way through a new project- editing the entirety of the album PUNCH by Autoheart to the Life Series.

I was originally planning to post all of the edits in order of the songs on the album, but I instead made the Lent one first and am too excited to keep it in my drafts any longer while I work on the first four songs of the album (especially since we're coming up on finals seasons and the amount of time I'll have to work on these is gonna plummet so fast). So instead, I'll be posting them as I make them and make a masterpost of them all in order at the end.

That being said, I hope you enjoy this! I'm really proud of it and a lot of work went into it.

Off topic but maybe good to know. Here is the link for the wildfire smoke map of North America. It’s updated often so at any time you go to it the smoke levels are close to real time. (The image above will remain the same but if you click on it you can see the current map at any time.)

Thank you so much! I have actually started the process of writing down my thoughts and even realized that, because of how much all of Kaeya’s lore and implications and references connect together, a mind map might actually be a better format for listen all of my thoughts than just a text post. But then, ah…I started the VERY rough draft for this mind map and I’m realizing it’s already getting so huge and complicated, I’m actually worried about whether or not I’ll be able to make it cohesive and readable.

I think that might be why it’s so hard to find anyone talking about ALL of Kaeya’s lore & myth connections & implications. THERE’S JUST SO MUCH!!! Kaeya, you have so much going on!!!! And, like, good for you, beloved, but it’s not easy for the theorists!

Anyways, in case anyone is curious, here’s a look at what I’ve got so far for the super-rough draft of a mind map for all my unhinged Kaeya lore thoughts:

Once again, ccs redacting lore without other ccs consent. I reiterate as stated in my previous post. Even if it was partially genuine turmoil, it doesn’t matter because it affected the story. Sapnap and Dream burned down Tubbo’s house at the start of the war and this is important, without the context of them being the ones to rebuild it in the first place [post], that moment goes from one of bitterness and betrayal and symbolism to two guys burning shit and calling out for war. 

Plus, Tubbo actually explains in the following stream about how it wasn’t real and for the bit, implying it was very much c!Tubbo who was upset but not cc!Tubbo [I can’t clip the vod but here is where it starts and ends at 6:24]. Because like you and your sister - it’s just a game and all in good fun.

sigh... i would give credit but this time i cant do it.. i can handle being blocked by said woke person for some petty reason however, this ones a different case, the artist is a creep, eugene, child sniffer -... i found porn of the ppg from this guys archive, it was originally posted by him on his socials, but i do believe someone called him out on it - now you would think calling a person that had the process thought, knew what their doing, by drawing 5-year-olds in sexual stuff would "change".. that does not work that way.

a person who has a process thought as sickening as that, doesn't just appear one day it was a thing before we were even aware of it, remember people can hide stuff but not all, and thats what happen.. he decided to take down all the sexual work he did of the three little girls and decided to not talk about it which is another red flag, to move on like he did no wrong.

honestly i would not be surprised if he still did draw little girl sexual art or just liked it in hidden door because, if my memory serves me well take this with a 50-50 here cause this is from my memory mates: i found out he has or maybe he deleted the account? a profile on a well known if you know how to find it a predator website where you can find child porn raw right off the bat.

just a fruit for thought tho, and for the suggestive artwork he had? i saw them, it was gross when he had released it at said time, and i did get screenshots of the gross artwork that i could find before he deleted it off the web. with that being said.. i will possibly share the rest of his art? i dont know... it sucks really...
