So are we just playing “send Shima quick doodle prompts to shake off the rust”?
In that case, you can never go wrong with toothcup
AUGH...AUGUGHHG...
Tumblr media
I haven't drawn them in YEARS thank you for this
Also like. I know initially my idea was that human Toothless could talk regularly like everyone else. But mute Toothless who can sign is also......so good......
This is Perry's fault for poisoning my brain /j
#HTTYD#How To Train Your Dragon#Hiccup#Hiccup Horrendous Haddock III#Toothless#Toothcup#Human Toothless#I actually DO have thoughts about this.#So this AU...I guess it is an AU now--Toothless and the other dragons can shapeshift between human and dragon form#Which is like. Considered a rarity. And a privilege for dragons#The only drawbacks is that they kinda stick out...they retain a lot of their dragon-like qualities#Which makes it tricky to blend in with humans if that is the goal. But most dragons with this ability manage (if they choose to do so)#It varies from dragon to dragon ofc. But Toothless is one of the few who just CAN'T speak as a human#He's tried. But it sounds like a garbled mess lol#Some of the other dragons have a much better grasp on the human language and how to actually speak#But it's cool bc Hiccup teaches Toothless sign and that's how they communicate#NOW. The difference between Perry and Toothless is that generally Perry is very quiet. Kinda comes with the territory of being an agent#Toothless on the other hand. He's very loud. Even if he's mute#I mean yes he CAN be quiet if he wants. Night Fury duh. He's very good at stealh#*stealth#BUT if he's not focusing on being sneaky he's actually quite rambunctious lol#He may not be able to talk! But he sure does make a lot of other noises!! Most very dragon-like!!#Hiccup unconsciously mimics Toothless every now and then. It is VERY cute#Shima arts#ANYWAY I'm done rambling now lol thank you for giving me the excuse to draw them <3333#Doodles#Art#Digital art#shima-draws

How Dare You?!
(Toothcup week ‘HTTYD3 AU’)
Toothless could smell something. It was oddly enticing, which was annoying, because he was perfectly comfortable right here with Hiccup. Watching his adorable, beloved, clever human play with bits of prey-skin and a charred stick. Listening to his voice eagerly chattering to about something called ‘the hidden world’, whatever that was. It sounded like a hatchling’s story time.
At last the urge to follow that odd smell became too strong. Toothless still didn’t want to leave Hiccup, so he nudged his human until Hiccup asked “what is it, bud?” He jumped around urgently. “You wanna go flying?” Hiccup got to his feet at last, and Toothless immediately scooped him up. “Whoa! Okay!”
Whatever was making the weird scent, it was coming from the woods of Berk. Toothless landed not far away and made Hiccup dismount, so he could approach with caution. Of course Hiccup tried to follow him. Toothless growled softly until his human got the idea and stayed put. Then he slunk forwards.
When he emerged into the fern-filled clearing, it was to see something very odd. A pure white dragon that looked like him. Well, a Night Fury, anyway. Only something was off - and not just the colour. This dragon was smooth, barely any scales at all, and there was a very strong female scent coming off of them.
He hadn’t smelled a female-scent that strong before, and wrinkled his snout up. The female looked over her shoulder at him and purred. ‘Hello, alpha.’
His eyes narrowed. ‘Who and what are you?’
‘I’m just a lonely, lost drakaina in need of protection,’ she replied, slinking towards him. ‘As for my name, you can call me whatever you like, alpha…’
This close, her scent was overpowering. It made him sneeze. She recoiled. ‘Sorry. Please don’t stand so close… you smell kind of weird. No offence.’
The white dragon pouted at him. ‘Don’t you like it? This is my natural scent.’ She fluttered her wings to waft it at him. ‘It’s stronger than normal because… well, I don’t have to tell a strong male like you what time of year it is, do I?’
‘It’s summer.’
She purred. ‘No, silly. It’s mating season for us Furies. Just so you know, if you’ve been getting any urges, I am available.’ She stretched luxuriously.
‘No thanks. I almost forgot. Welcome to Berk. Help yourself to fish, don’t set stuff on fire, and no matter how annoying some of them are, don’t hurt the’-
‘Human!’ she snarled. It looked like when Hiccup scrunched his pillow up. She reared up and fired a blast over his shoulder at - his human, who hadn’t stayed put after all. Toothless leapt in the way and took the blast on his wing.
‘HOW DARE YOU!’ he roared at her. ‘I just told you not to hurt the humans!’
‘It was sneaking up on us!’ she protested, trying to get past. ‘It’s a threat!’
Toothless growled. ‘No, he isn’t. The humans here don’t hurt dragons. The one you nearly killed is my human. My best and dearest friend. Understand?’
She stared at him in disbelief. ‘Humans are dangerous! Quick, we must go!’ With that, she leapt into the air and flew away. Toothless blinked. Then he turned to check on Hiccup. “Woah. Did you see that? It was like a Bright…”
“A Light Fury!” Astrid exclaimed breathlessly. When did she get there?
“Yeah, yours is better, probably. Whoa, bud. What’s wrong?” Hiccup asked when Toothless nuzzled him. “I’m fine. Thanks for the save. Sorry for scaring off your new friend.” Toothless snorted. He wasn’t friends with that female.
A few days later, Toothless and Hiccup were flying off in search of this so called ‘hidden world’. They were accompanied by Astrid and Stormfly, Valka and Cloudjumper, and the rest of their friends. As they were gliding beneath the clouds, Astrid suddenly exclaimed “up there!” and pointed above them.
Toothless looked sharply, in case it was a threat. At first he didn’t see anything. Then a white silhouette that wasn’t a cloud soared past. That female was back. He caught a whiff of that overly strong scent of hers again and sneezed.
“She’s beautiful,” declared Astrid. Toothless wasn’t so sure. He thought she looked weirdly smooth. Why was she following them? As he watched, she flew through one of her own fireballs and disappeared. Toothless shrugged and kept flying. Then out of nowhere, he felt Hiccup get ripped off his shoulders.
His human yelled, and Toothless roared. He dived and easily swept Hiccup out of the air, then slowed to a hover and looked around for whoever had attacked them. The Light Fury reappeared not far away, looking confused. ‘What are you doing?’ she asked him. ‘I just saved you from that human on your back!’
Toothless snarled at her. ‘I need his help to fly, you idiot! And even if I didn’t, he’s my best friend. You could have killed him!’ She looked scared and fled.
“Man. She really doesn’t like me, does she?” remarked Hiccup.
‘I don’t like her either’ Toothless growled as she turned herself invisible again.
The hidden world turned out to not only be real, but beautiful. Toothless couldn’t wait to explore it further with Hiccup. On the way home they passed over an island and heard frightened roars coming from it. ‘Help me! Help me!’
Toothless recognised the Light Fury’s voice. “Did you hear that?!” asked Hiccup. Yes, he had, and now they were going to have to save her. Great. He flew down, followed by Stormfly. They found the Light Fury lying unconscious in front of some thick ferns and bushes that and no sign of her attacker.
Stormfly’s nostrils flared. ‘I can smell a bad human’ she snarled, and flicked a spine from her tail. It landed in the ferns and they heard a muffled cry of pain. Toothless promptly fired at the same spot despite Hiccup’s protest. When the smoke cleared, they could see a man with a crossbow dead on the ground.
The Light Fury jerked to her feet in alarm. Toothless and Stormfly landed behind her. She stared at the man’s body and exclaimed ‘you killed him!’
‘He was a threat! He was using you as bait to lure dragons in’ he told her.
She rounded on him and snarled. ‘You killed my human!’ Then she flinched, as if realising what she’d just said. Toothless’ eyes widened. ‘No, wait. I mean’-
‘You help him!” Toothless roared. ‘You were trying to help him kill me and Hiccup this whole time! HOW DARE YOU?!” Enraged, he leapt at and grappled with her. She shrieked and struggled, but she was weak compared to him, and he easily pinned her down. Then he began to charge another blast.
“STOP!” yelled Hiccup, running forwards. “Toothless, stop. Just let her go.”
Toothless hesitated. Hiccup would be upset if he killed her, and he didn’t want that. ‘I’ll spare you’ he growled at the Light Fury. ‘But if you try to hurt him again, I will kill you.’ Then he stepped back. She scrambled to her paws and fled once more, hopefully for good this time. Toothless snorted irritably.
“What was all that about?” asked Hiccup, reaching out to him cautiously. Toothless nuzzled his beloved human. In that moment he realised, even if the Light Fury hadn’t secretly been working with their enemy, he still wouldn’t have wanted to be her mate. All he really wanted was to stay and be with Hiccup.

Note:
The plan was to take the last week of February so we would include Hiccup's technical birthday, but I felt like beginning in the middle of a week and ending it in the middle of the week may have been too awkward.
If anyone disagrees, feel free to drop a comment in the replies or my askbox. Now's the time to move the date, not later when February's here.

Httyd Writing Commissions
What I can write:
Fluff (or general)
Smut
Whump
Any ships (unless stated otherwise)
Some examples:
Little Dragon Claws: A Teen and Up hurt/comfort fic.
Set during the episode, The Terrible Twos. Torch shows Hiccup what his talons are for, although he seriously overestimates the thickness of a human being's skin.
Death: A darkfic of the "dead dove, do not eat" variety.
Post Httyd 3, the dragons never left. When Hiccup and Toothless disappear after responding to a distress message, Astrid and the Dragon Riders give chase.
Looking Out For The Twins: A Modern AU Fluff fic.
Set in a Modern AU. While waiting for the twins, Hiccup has an unexpected talk with their mother that leads to a promise.
Going Official: A genderbend Eretcup smut fic.
Written for Any Fandom Goes Kink Bingo. Set after THW, the dragons never left. After almost a year of sneaking around, Hiccup wants more than that.
Ships?
I am fine with almost any ship.
Some of the ships I've written (so far!) are: Hiccstrid, Toothcup, Snotcup, Tufflout, Vigcup, Vigstrid, Rykstrid, Dragcup, Dagcup, Heathstrid, Dagther, Eretcup.
Where I draw the line:
Vore is one thing. Also at anything else that makes me uncomfortable. Sometimes I won’t know if I am until we discuss your idea.
How to pay:
I prefer to use Paypal or Ko-fi.
Payment:
1 Ko-fi = 500 word fic. (strict)
2 Ko-fis = 1 000 word fic. (strict)
3 Ko-fis = 1 500 word fic. (strict)
Otherwise: 0,01 per word. Which means a 1k one-shot would be 10$, 2k would be 20$ and so on.
Practical:
DM me with your idea and we’ll discuss the details! :)
Slot:

I hate how many hypocrites there are in the HH/HB fandom and the Critical side of the fandom--
Like- Chaifootsteps had been called out for their ToothCup AU and other stuff, YET nobody except me are calling out DANI DRAWS for making a guide on drawing a accurate cloaca for NSFW purposes and lastly advertising a Octavia body pillow (note: the pillow isn't NSFW but people are finding it REALLY WEIRD that their advertising the pillow on her nsfw account alongside two nsfw body pillows) on their nsfw account.
Like.... you guys need to have some integrity right?

I swear that on occasion I look through my fics, and I’m like man I write a lot of fics with Viggo in them.
Looks at wips. Yes guys there’s still more to come.
But lately, I mean there’s still ideas with Viggo, yet have a different motivation.
I want to publish Hijack fics. I have a handful of ideas of Toothcup.
I’m also obsessed with my stats on AO3. Left me wide-eyed when I realized that people really like Taking Unusual Form, which is essentially a Toothcup human au.
I love that concept so much, thinking up different ways of turning Toothless human.
Would y’all wanna see that? More of those ideas?

In A Different Form
Chapter 3 - Persistence
Summary: Set long after THW, the dragons never left. A Reincarnation AU. In his old age, the Night Fury wants to be left alone, but that doesn't stop a youngster from seeking him out.
Warnings: /
Rating: Teen and Up
Words: 956
Fandom: How to Train Your Dragon
Characters: Hiccup, Toothless
Pairing: Toothcup
Author's Notes: Toothless is a little bit of a grump, but luckily, a certain Night Fury is not so easily dissuaded. :)
Enjoy!
-XOXOX-
That runt of a dragon just isn’t going to give up. He was chased out of his elder’s den, away from the creek, his fish were denied and yet he continues this fool’s errand. The Night Fury would almost start to suspect something is physically wrong with the younger one if not for the fact that he has known plenty of people who were just as impossibly stubborn. Both in the human and dragon kingdom alike.
As today’s sun set, it’s been days since his little pain in his rear first showed up, the elder dragon exits his den and tries very hard to ignore the curious gaze coming from the brush as if he can’t see him. He has no idea for what reason the other could be so curious, he goes where he always goes this early in the night. First his creek for a drink and then he hunts in his lake.
The Runt follows as quietly as he can, sneaking through the bushes after him. Fortunately, he knows better than to do the hunting for him this time.
And after the Night Fury had his fill, he does what he always does. He finds a nice soft spot and takes a nap. There is nothing else that a dragon at his age should be doing. Teaching and playing with the youngsters, getting involved in pack politics, wrestling just for the fun of it is no longer for him. Napping the night away, that is perfect for him.
Or it certainly would be if the Runt doesn’t find some way to ruin that for him, too.
The Night Fury knows he’s there, watching from a safe distance. Somewhere where he can’t be scratched or bitten. However, he still remains well in distance for a plasma blast and he won’t even need to aim.
The rustling of the foliage disturbs him. The elder dragon’s eyes were only closed for a little while when the Runt moving noisily through the thick brush causes him to open one up and spot him swiftly. It’s not hard, he’s standing just feet away from him now.
When he growls to show how unwelcome he is, the smaller one quickly turns tail again and… He doesn’t run away this time.
The Night Fury lifts his head up, almost confused as the other puts distance between them, but doesn’t leave. Instead, he curls up on the grass himself, eyes uncertain for a moment. Then they disappear behind his pair of tailfins. He has a hard time lying still, needing to adjust more than a couple of times before he finally finds rest.
His elder watches with his agitation growing again, though this time it may not entirely be his fault. His curiosity, his endless stubbornness, his showy flight, his want to provide, his missing leg and that specific eye color. Every single one of these traits remind him of someone he doesn’t want to think about, because doing so still tears his soul in two even after all of this time. There’s a reason why he abandoned the surface after his death.
The Runt keeps his distance, respects his desire for personal space and by doing so brings the elder back to a very specific moment in his youth. When he was but a young Night Fury himself, trapped in a cove with an overly curious human boy who would not leave him alone and helped him find the love of his life.
His soulmate.
Despite all the conflicting emotions inside, the older dragon tries to lie his head down and close his eyes again. He tries to nap the night away, just like he’s been doing almost every night for years and years and years.
Because it’s less painful than facing the reality that human lifespans are so painfully short.
-XOXOX-
The Night Fury is old and not just by a mere few decades.
His memory isn’t what it used to be and he hates that he can hear someone’s laughter, hear them talk without recalling the words spoken, feel their touch and know exactly what they look like without being able to remember them properly. He knows facts. Auburn hair, forest green eyes, a freckled face, a missing leg, a lean physique. These are facts and individually, he can recall them clearly, but the full picture escapes him and that hurts.
It’s not the first time he dreams of his Human as he naps and it certainly won’t be the last. He spends his nights napping specifically because that’s when he’s the closest to him.
But that night, he dreams of his hands. Of how, sometimes, he would wake him up from a nightmare by bringing his fingers or the back of his hand close to his nose. His scent used to ground him, it gave him a way back, brought him to his Human without startling him awake and make a potentially bad situation even worse.
He smelled human, of the salty sea, the pine forest outside of home, of smoke.
And now there’s a dragon who smells exactly like him.
The Night Fury’s eyes snap open, the Runt is suddenly right in front of him. Still flat on the ground, head on the grass, clawed paw in front of his nose. He woke him up…
Exactly like Hiccup would.
The Runt must be expecting retribution, because he’s quick to climb to all three of his feet, turn away and take flight with a mighty beat of his wings when the elder lifts his head. With just a couple of flaps he’s already long gone and the Night Fury watches him go.
This is the first time in days that he’s a little sorry to see him leave.

Immortal Hiccup au pt 1 and 2
Hiccup was born about 1000 years before the events of his original birth. Having a power to change his age and appearance to suit what is better in his opinion.
He has been around dragons for most of his time on this earth, they had much more time to be on earth then humans did. Hiccup learnt how to understand most dragons within his first 50 years on earth since they had seen him as something not so human which is fair in his opinion. He learnt that dragons could live up to Thor knows how long due to hearing that a dragon has been alive since what the dragons called the giant lizard era. Though sadly that dragon is not around anymore due to humans, a shame really he would of loved to know more about the giant lizard era. (Dragons in this au are cousins to what would later become dinosaurs and todays mammals and reptiles)
Hiccup managed to be on berk during the time his cannon mother was supposed to give birth in the form of a 5 year old due to him preferring this form. Anyways Valka gave birth to a girl that looks like Stoick.
5 years have passed and hiccup finds Berk fascinating because of everything that has happened to the villagers and the village. So he made the woods his home.
Hiccup decided to go into the village one day since he was bored and didn’t want to explore the forest since he knows it all to well now. He walked into the village in his 5 year old form getting a few stares from people until he bumps into Stoick, now to Stoick Hiccup looks a lot like valka but with his own eye colour. Being that this was really weird to the chief he asked hiccup who’s child he was. Hiccup not having parents for over 900+ years had said he had none, Stoick told hiccup to follow him and hiccup followed without questions due to still being bored.
Stoick brought Hiccup to his house to let Valka see him. Valka was shocked seeing a boy who looked her daughters age that looked nearly the same as her but with freckles and Stoicks eyes.
After the shock died down Valka asked if hiccup had parents, but hiccup gave her the same answer as he had given Stoick before.
Skip 10 years to cannon events Hiccup is a haddock now and Valka left when she was carried off by a raid 9 years prior.
I will leave this chapter here as to have abit more suspense for chapter two :)
————————————————————————
Chapter 2
The night was the one he would shoot Toothless down on. Being nearly the same as cannon but the difference being Hiccup could understand Toothless. Skip to when hiccup finds Toothless in the cove after the first meet.
“A new dragon type” Hiccup whispered to himself slightly to loud gaining the dragons attention. He had decided to give Toothless the fish he brought for him. Still being giddy about a new dragon type hiccup watches toothless for the day after the fish thing in the original movie.
Skip to right after the fight with the red death, due to not needing to change much about anything else for the plot.
They are sitting in hiccups room talking about things when hiccup asks toothless about basic information like what toothlesses age is and if he has a mate since it’s completely slipped hiccups mind to ask before.
“I’m not a very seasoned night fury age wise I guess, I mean I’m only something like 1100 years old” Toothless explained to hiccup with a smile.
“So what about you how old are you Hiccup?”
Not expecting anything substantial for a human he was suprized.
“Funny thing Toothless i myself am about 1000 years old due to being immortal” Suprize fading Toothless is now hellbent on knowing more about his human.
So this is the end of the chapter. I’m thinking of making this full on Toothcup instead of just having them as best friends. Plus I enjoy the ship.

To all you Toothcup fans out there
This one's for you.
Just imagine: a Romeo and Juliet sort of setting (this is nothing like them, trust me) where Vikings and dragons are like the two houses except they want to have peace. And the way they have done it was through marriage.
Each chief would present a daughter or son to the Green Death (since dragons live longer than humans, I'm willing to bet that this one has hand many-a-mates) and the other child would take over as the next chief of chieftess.
Anthro dragons. It's the only way this will work.
Okay, now Stoick refuses to give Hiccup away because he has no other child to lead the village (even if he did, he would still refuse, even at the cost of his life). He is not the first to refuse, obviously, but the first one to go to great lengths to do so. He declares war on the dragons.
So, the war has been raging on for years now (Hiccup's around 16-17) and helps around the armory. He was taught that dragons were enemies and to never ever trust one.
We'll see how that one goes.
The teen creates a contraption that wrapped ropes and balls of rock around it. He catches a Night Fury.
Let's back up a little here.
While, yes, the dragons are raiding Berk in order to feed the Green Death, they also come to get Hiccup. Their numbers are being lost with every unsuccess at bringing back the boy.
Having been fed up with all the failures, the alpha sends the greatest dragon in the armada. Enar (ei-nar), a Night Fury. The last of his kind. You can guess the Green Death's mood when the news finally got back to the nest that the other was braught down.
Fast forward, Hiccup tells his father about the Night and Stoick, obviously, doesn't really believe him.
So, the teen went on his own, searching for hours. Just as he was about to leave, Hiccup sees something move. He goes towards the bushes and finds the Night Fury laying there tangled in the ropes.
Hiccup does his monologue and raises the knife, blah blah blah - but. When he's about to look at the dragon, when he passes the wing, instead of seen the dragon's head, his gaze locks with a human eye. The teen stood there, shocked for a minute, before he finally snaps, shaking and taking hesitant steps back.
(Imma go into a spiral rn, ya ready?)
Piercing, green eyes stare right at his own. How could this be? The dragon was there a minute ago! All scales and black and... and no skin... no dark, tan, soft and cut skin...
How could this... teenager be laying where the dragon was? And just as Hiccup fell out of shock, the other sat up. Those eyes congealed all emotion, narrowed and watchful. Oh Gods, he must be hallucinating right? Yeah, must be that. I mean, he didn't sleep at all last night, what with the raid and everything...
Yet the cold metal of the knife in his hand felt so real... the softness and silliness of the still damp grass felt so real... and those eyes looked... so...
"Hiccup!" His father's booming voice came in, his footsteps fast and urgent. Why was his father here?
Panic lit up on both teens faces, locking eyes fro a bread moment before the Night Fury began to struggle.
"Stop." The viking said softly, startling the dragon. "You'll only tangle yourself more." The dragon growled.
"No human tells me what to do." So he does talk.
"Hiccup!" His father's voice was coming closer along with other villagers. Getting up quickly, he moved to the other with the knife in hand. The dragon hissed.
"I'm trying to help, sit still." He said urgently.
"Don't touch me!" The Night Fury growled, his sharp nails scratching Hiccup's outstretched arm. The teen hissed in pain, sitting back, farther away from the dragon.
"Hiccup!" His father arrived at the scene. He stood, quiet for a moment, taking in what was before him. "By Thor..." he started. "Ya did catch him..."
(Okay, I'm done)
When Hiccup turned to look at the Night Fury, he saw that he was a dragon again, tangled up even more in the ropes (he told him).
Stoick rushes to his boy and orders the others to detain the dragon.
Now here's the part im excited about (ka ne that kinda spurred the 'Romeo and Juliet' vibe): its noon and everyone's celebrating blah blah blah, but Hiccup can't stop thinking of the dragon. He looked... scared when they were taking him away... he also wondered if what he saw was real.. had the dragon really turned into a... human? Hybrid? Well, only one way to find out.
(Another spiral)
It was Night, somewhere around eleven and midnight. There were a few Vikings lurking around, some struck, others on patrol in case of a dragon attack. His father was at the great hall, discussing the raid and their newest catch (and probably boasting about the fact that his son caught a Night Fury.) He'd be there for a while.
It didn't matter to Hiccup as long as he wasn't disrupted.
Quickly, he jumped down his room's window and ran off to the dragon killing arena. He had to take the scenic route so he wouldn't be spotted by the patrollers.
It was a long run (and/or walk, we'll never know) to the arena but he was glad he made this choice. He wanted answers and his father wasn't going to give them to him any time soon so he resorted to the next best thing.
He stepped inside the scratched and bloodstained circle of the dug up cage. He never really like going here, all things considered. Sure, he was taught to hate dragons and kill them but honestly he never saw them do anything wrong. They rarely stole food and burned up only a few houses. Sometimes they looked like... like they were searching for something...
Shaking his head, he focused on the task at hand. He looked towards the cage opposite the entrance of the arena. It was wide open. Moonlight hit the bars, making them glisten slightly in the night. It looked spooky and very dark inside. He gulped, stepping towards the cage slowly.
He was sure the dragon had already heard him. How was he sure, you ask? Well, if the low growling wasn't the indicator then how about green eyes? Somehow they seemed to just... light up in the night.
"Hi..?" Nice greeting Hiccup. "Um.." Now what?
He was standing about ten feet away from the bars, keeping his distance. Just because he was here doesn't mean he was stupid. He stood there in awkward silence. The dragon didn't seem like he wanted to talk, of the glare was something to go about. You could feel it's intensity if you couldn't see it. It made Hiccup take a step back.
"I'm sorry." Well, that was something the dragon wasn't expecting. The glare immediately turned into a curious questioning gaze, his ears lifting up and head tilting. "F-For this. Everything. You don't deserve this. No one does."
"I was raiding your village." He was human now. Well, half human. Good to know he wasn't hallucinating things then.
"You didn't take anything." Hiccup defended. Why? "You barely destroyed anything this time. Well, not any houses at least." He remembered a few watching posts being blasted but that's it.
"So?" The dragon asked, a weird sort of mix of skeptisism and curiosity in his voice and eyes. "That doesn't justify what I've done in the past." He said.
"I... guess... but... why do it in the first place?" A deep growl emitted from the cage, the teen raising his hands up in surrender. "Okay - okay! You don't have to answer." Awkward. The tan one shook his head, eyes narrowed and locking with forest green.
"Why did you come here?" He asked.
"I.. I need answers." The brunette replied.
"... For?"
"... This." He said, gesturing to the dragon, the cage, the whole arena and Berk. "Why are you doing this? Why are we fighting? How can you... transform?"
"You didn't know dragons can transform?" Now that was news to him. What human didn't know that dragons can go hybrid?
"All dragons can?" Oh boy. This would be a long night. Or many nights. Depending if the boy was stubborn. And Gods, was he.
(Here's stop)
So, they talk for a few night up to a week and no one really suspects a thing. Nothing major had happened between them and no great news was shared either. Hiccup drew Toothless a few times (he started calling him that because the dragon refused to give him his name and he braught fish one night and saw that he had no teeth [till they retracted, that is]). It annoyed the Night Fury, and Hiccup's promises of never using the name again if he gave him the real one was tempting, but he'd learn to live with it. Eventually. Hopefully.
Moving on, it was the day Stoick and a few dozen other ships were supposed to leave when the dragon escaped the night before. The lock on the cage was strangely.. well, unlocked. Or rather loosened. And on the dragons chains as well.
Still, Stoick went off, believe that the Night Fury went back to warn the nest.
Hiccup was in training with the others, blah blah, and he went to the forest to clear his head of the first day. Gobber could (IS) tiring sometimes. The others didn't help either. That's when he fell. He turned and saw a broken tree branch. He started following the strange path of broken branches and claw marks - dragon claw marks, let's not forget.
He stumbled onto a cove and to his surprise the Night Fury was there.
(Aaaand here we go again)
"W-What are you doing here?" He climbed down the rocks, stopping on the second to last when he saw the dragon bear his teeth at him.
"It's your fault." He turned hybrid si he could talk, pulling his tail into Hiccup's view. His eyes widened, guilt quickly filling up in the pit of his stomach. "I noticed. I taught I'd be fine." He started pacing, his narrowed eyes locked with forest green, softening ever so slightly at the guilt in them. At least he knew he was the cause of this. "Turns out: I was wrong."
"I... I'm - I..." He couldn't form sentences. He knew that a dragon's greatest strength was flight. If they couldn't use their fire power then they could fly away to rest up before coming into battle again. Hiccup had taken away that break. That freedom. And from a creature so grand. "I'll fix this.." he said to himself. "I'll... I'll fix this, I promise." He turned to climb back up when he felt his ankle being grabbed and tugged at. He almost fell from the rock.
"I think you've done enough."
"Please - I want to help. I'll help you-"
"Like Hel I need your help-!"
"I helped you out of the arena didn't I?!" Qell that was a low blow to his pride. "I - I'll make you a new fin so you can fly again."
"How?"
"I- I need to sketch it out first. And I'll need measurements. And I'll need to find leather.. and metal light but strong enough to help keep you in flight..." By now, he was rambling to himself. Toothless sighed and rolled his eyes. Well, it was either being stuck here alone, on an island he wasn't welcomed, or stuck with the annoying (and slightly, ever so slightly cute) teen; till he could fly, of course.
"Fine." That was enough to cut off the other. A smile split on his face (a very pretty one, actually).
"Alright! Okay, alright - I'll be back as soon as I'm done!" The Night Fury let the human go, said human running off with this stupid (cute*) grin on his face.
What has he gotten himself into?
(And that's a stop)
A but rushed, but meh.
Anyway, they bond and talk and play around.
I have a few scenes in my head where they're sitting against the wall of the cove with a fire and cooked and raw fish at their feet and in their hands. Someone says something (unintentionally) flirtatious and/or a very intimate compliment and they blush and look away.
Another one is where they splash around in the pond and they jump each other (mostly Toothless at Hiccup, like pulling his leg slightly or straight up pulling him under water, or just plain jumping on his from the back). They end up in each other's arms with Hiccup laying down on the shore and Toothless above him.
They lock eyes. Their foreheads touch. Their eyes are closed and their breaths are in sync. The warmth on their cheeks is slowly getting hotter yet neither mind. Slowly, ever so achingly slow, they lean into each other, lips brushing softly, barely feeling each other, but there none the less. Oh how soft it was. Such a lovely, private and intimate moment. So... genuine.. so... bubbly and fluffy and cute and pure and... gentle. Oh so very gentle and long. How nice would it be to stay in this space forever.
But alas, moments like these were meant to be broken (just so another could start).
They pulled away and were blushing messes after that. When they went flying, Hiccup would hug Toothless's head softly and blush even more, the dragon would smile and avart his eyes.
When they'd say goodbye, Toothless would gently hug him and peck him on the cheek, Hiccup hugging tighter.
But, like I said before, moments like these were meant to be broken (just so other ones could begin).
It was the day of the semi-finals, and Hiccup passed. The Astrid meeting Toothless happened (mind you, Hiccup was more touchy feely than in the movie [like hugging Toothless's head more; they also had a small fight where Toothless was like "Why?" and Hiccup was like "Cause she's gonna out us before I even come out of the closet!" and Toothless was like "Fiiinnee."]) and when they landed, and finished talking, Toothless turned hybrid. He asked what they meant when they talked and Hiccup started explain but like they forgot Astrid and after the initial shock were off (quicker than Hiccup's case), she kinda understood things (sort of).
Day of the trial, everything happens as it did, only Toothless went hybrid to get to Hiccup, arriving in full dragon mode. He turns hybrid again when he pounced Stoick, threatening him to never touch his Hiccup again. Stunned only for a second, and using the distraction Hiccup (unintentionally) provided when he yelled at his dragon to stop, he took down the Night Fury, chaining him down in his hybrid form (mind you, the saddle is still on).
Stoick then took his son to the great hall and when Hiccup accidentally spilled details he wouldn't have, the chief went ballistic.
(Cut to the scene 🎬)
"I should've seen this coming." Stoick mumbled to himself, pacing in the great hall.
"Dad, please," Hiccuo begged, eyes filled with concern for his dragon. "Do whatever you want to me, banish me, chain me up for the dragons to eat !- just don't hurt Toothless." The chief turned to his son, disbelief in his eyes.
"The dragon?" They narrowed. "That's what you're worried about?"
"He didn't do anything wrong, none of them did- or ever do-!"
"They've killed hundreds of us-"
"And we've killed thousands of them! And for what?! They barely steal food, they don't damage any houses or places we put our stock in and they come like once or twice a week! If they're not here to hurt us then what are they here for?!-"
"For you!" Silence. Time stopped... what? "They came here... looking for the heir of the chief."
"... what?" The disbelief in his green eyes..
"It's so we can keep the peace," Stoick began, dreading this conversation. "Every chief will give an heir to the dragon alpha so everyone lives in peace. I couldn't give you away. Not after your mother... Not ever."
It made sense. It all made sense now. The raids- the lack of stealing- why Toothless was sent. (Mind you, the dragon only said that he was sent to retrieve something for his alpha, he didn't specify what)
"I'll go." He said, his eyes wide and staring at the distance.
"What?" His father's head raised up in surprise.
"I said I'll go-"
"No. I will not allow it."
"Dad, please, I know how I can help, just listen-"
"It's out of the question, Hiccup-"
"For once in your life, would you please just listen to me?!" (The sentence doesn't really fit this story rn and it feels a bit too much, I might change up a few things to make the story better)
Stoick stopped. He turned towards his son. The desperation in his voice, in his eyes, on his face and whole stature. It hurt the father to see his boy like that.
"I..." He was panting slightly, trying to regain control of his breathing. "I know how we can stop the Green Death. Once and for all."
(End scene 🎬)
So, we cut to a scene where Stoick, along with Toothless (since the teen needed to tell them both of his idea), refusing to do the plan. Honestly, Hiccuo was beyond happy that his (mate in the dragon world/sort of) boyfriend and his father agreed on something, but that really wasn't the thing they wanted to agree on.
So, with a bit of convincing, and insuring that he will be fine, they started recruiting others. The trainees would become dragon riders.
We move on to the part of the story where Hiccup is on Toothless (who's a dragon), reassuring him that everything will be fine. The armada and other dragon riders and hiding behind the rocks and debris.
Toothless lands on the sand and roars out, calling the Green Death to look at his new mate. When the huge monster comes out of the rock, the scent of Toothless is all over Hiccup and the dragon becomes outraged. That's when the two give the signal.
War breaks.
We win.
Flash forward, it's been about a month after the whole Green Death endeavour, and since (technically) Toothless and Hiccup were the ones who defeated the monster of a dragon, they, or rather Toothless, were sort of the alpha of the dragons now. Which means that both were to become mates in order to keep the peace. They didn't really object. Stoick on the other hand. Well, let's not get into detail.
And that's about it. Wow, this is definitely one of the longest prompt ideas I've ever had.
I honestly have no idea if I write this (probably won't, I got a lot of other stuff on my hands rn) so feel free of anyone would like to do the honors.
Also, you got a little sneak peek of my (current) writing style. How exciting! XDD
Congrats if you made it this far XDD

Text
For three hundred years, the people of Berk have been at the mercy of a clan of terrifying vampires. These undead, accursed creatures not only steal livestock to feed on, but sometimes kidnap villagers to drain their blood and turn them into vampires as well. So Berkians have gotten very good at killing vampires.
All except Hiccup, who lacks the strength to wrestle the unnaturally strong monsters of the night. Even when he manages to trap a vampire to kill at his leisure, he finds himself taking pity and freeing them instead. Yet that same vampire is injured, and Hiccup stumbles into helping them survive until they can leave. The more time he spends with them, however, he discovers that there is a lot more to the vampires, and the reasons behind why they raid Berk so frequently, than his people have ever known.
