have i not been through enough. have i not seen and felt it all.

i have found true love for the rest of my life but all it requires is patience. and boy am i trying. but have i not seen enough? evil and rust that manifests itself in my own bedroom. skin broken from the assaults. flesh and mind bled from the raping.

ive found something beautiful. in the grace of fifteen hundred miles and a cold bed.

haven't i suffered enough? must i wait in the burning solace of a bimonthly visit and a sick stomach? forever and ever, until the next life i vowed. i will wait until my teeth rot.

but my mind beckons, haven't i seen enough? must i wait for something which carries such euphoria? years on end will i wait to feel a warm heart in the form of skin on skin contact.

was my pain not enough to grant something as beautiful as you are? i will wait. i will weep. i will beg. forever we will spend. in the eye of a cold mattress for the lot of the year.

until you can live somewhere safe inside of me.

I love the pale garden and how it's like a parallel to dark forests. I love how the two divert expectations.

Dark forests, despite their name, are saturated and full of life. Even compared to regular forests, there's a lot more biodiversity than many of the "basic" biomes. There's three whole different trees found there, giant mushrooms, and plenty of flowers. They're one of the biomes capable of spawning a lush cave underneath it. It has its dangers just like any other overworld biome, obviously, but it's nothing overly more than anywhere else. Traversing it can be tricky sometimes and illagers may take residence in the biome's woodland mansions, but it's ultimately a very colorful and lively environment.

Opposing it is the new pale garden. Usually white and light colors are seen as pristine and good, but the pale garden takes it the opposite direction and goes right into uncanny valley territory. It has none of the color of dark forests, none of the biodiversity, none of the liveliness. It has trees and moss that look familiar, but something is off. It has a signature mob, but even the creaking is just a puppet of the trees, not really sentient, not really even plotting against anything. There's "life", but, once again, it's wrong.

I think the pale garden is a wonderful addition to Minecraft's world building as it is, but the deliberate parallel to dark forests? Delicious.

people love to compliment tiktok's algorithm on how good it is at showing them updates to videos they'd seen in the past but tumblr, man. tumblr doesn't even need an algorithm. it's just a bunch of nosy ass people spreading around the information and it is almost always a reliable system. if i see a post on tuesday the update will come around on my dash by friday without fail

just saw a tiktok about "guys you would never expect" create a group chat dedicated to exposing non consensual images they took of the women they hooked up with naked and I think everyone needs to collectively drop the idea that these men have a "look" like you assume incels have a "look" and like you assume child predators have a "look". personality too! someone can seem "weird" to you and actually be completely harmless, and the most charming person you'll ever meet could do something awful when you assume otherwise. I actually have a coworker like this! super charming normally but when customers aren't around says derogatory things about other coworkers and makes fun of them to their face. you would definitely NOT want to be alone with him. but no one would believe that on the surface.

laios has very quickly become dear to me not just because he's an autistic protagonist but because his autism is itself one of the reasons his party has an edge over others. though we see him struggle in social situations, his special interest makes him hypercompetent in the context of dungeon survival. i'm aware that's not a NEW observation on him but i was impressed that he even used his special interest to successfully solve a crisis that relied on noticing social cues- he was able to pick out the impostors bc he honed in on the small discrepancies in their attitudes toward monsters. if that isn't weaponizing your autism, i don't know what is
