Best meal of the trip so far was had at Yudale last night. It’s the sister restaurant of Machneyuda and it was amazing. We sat at the bar which doubles as the kitchen. The music was turned up 3 times, eventually reaching 11. Everyone was dancing and laughing and having an awesome time, just like us. We started with artichokes confit, sea bass tartare, and vitello tonato on perfectly burnt bread and then had a main of fish in parchment with veggies and a delicious sauce poured on delivery. Finally for dessert, we had bread pudding. Oh man! A great capper to our visit to Jerusalem, Israel.

people be like haha in your 30s living with you parents lazy loser like being in my 30s with 2 kids trying to parent while being treated like I'm still 12 years old is this easy mode lifestyle choice.
I work at a grocery store so I have to buy groceries, if I am cooking something specifically bc mysrlf or my kids want it i buy the ingredients on my dime not from the household grocery fund. I buy ingredients i want even if we already have them bc I dont want to use communal groceries for something specificly requested even if we're eating it communally, so that i can make it my way (not my mothers way) without guilt.
this makes me selfish appreciate
I cant buy specific brands sometimes bc of supply xhain issues, I used to just substitute brands bc I dod my own shopping for 10 years but that was an issue so I call I verify all subs with them, which adds sometimes 30 minutes (to my already extra hour at work after i punch out) bc my 60 year old parents just dont answer any of their phones sometimes and i have to respect that. sometimes they don't answer and i just skip it.
thats me being lazy, i should go to 4 other grocery stores where i do not get a discout bc apparently the suppliers are just skipping my store ok
today i listened to 15 minutes of what a stupid selfish person I am bc i bought tubes of tomato paste and jars of sauce specifically for the chili i made last week and then used them, you know for the purpose i bought them, the same day, and he thinks jars of sauce are too small (they're the same amount) and also he doesn't want jars and now we're out of tins and thats my fault bc i bought ingredients for my recipe the day i made it snd he's making gumbo and Im too selfish to buy tins of tonato sauce that no one told me we needed
y'all he went out yesterday and bought literally everything else for gumbo, he forgot to buy sauce bc he remembered the jars but not that i used them.
all this for a man who cooks once every 6 weeks
this is what it is like to live with your parents as an adult

ha ha HA....
pizza making was.... diffiult. but it turned out SOOOOOOgood!!!!
I had a tone of trouble getting the pizza off the peal and onto the fuckin pizza stone.... i rolled it kinda bad, so 1: the cornmeal didnt get on the bottom of it good 2: it was too thin in areas so it wasnt structurally sound enouth to move well. in the end it ended up less round tyan optinal!!!! vwry bad shape!!!!
but oh my GOD that was the best pizza ive ever eaten? maybe i was just hungry and needinf food and worked on it for three hours. but hot FUCK aas it so fucking good. i put pineapple and jalapenos and lots of mozzarella and kenji alt-lopez's recipe for pizza sauce on there. the sauce tasted. wll, like spaghetti sauce but a little less tonato i think? absolutwly smacking though holy fucking shit.
i then bummed a few hits off my friends apparently very strong cigarette and drank two blue kamikazes (w triple sec instead of curacao ::::::::::cccccc)
okay wow the combo of those last two things hiting me hard

Was worried this would be too bland but it was actually p good (a tad bland cuz frozen veg but not much worse than a mediocre cicken siup) and it took exactly 30 minutes to make INCLUDING chopping the onion. I could def throw some parm on top or eggs for more fillingness if needed. Also could do this w different spices/stock for variation. Banger meal
Okay so ingredience
1 15 oz can chickpeas
1 bag garden duo mix
1.5-2 c of chicken stock (i used bouillon cubes, 1.5 of em)
1 medium/smallish yellow onion
Jar minced garlic, then optionally italian seasoning, garlic powder, onion powder
Prep: chop onion that’s it
Cooking
Add onion+ garlic cook 3 or so mins til transluscent or whatever
Add pre-microwaved garden garden duo mix, chickpeas, any spices. (I added my spices afterwards coz i thiught the stock would be tastu enough but i had to use sxtra water so i needed more flavor)
Cook 5-7 min to get excess water out and heat and cook blah blah
Add stock + couscous, bring to a boil, cover and let sit for 5-10 mins til couscous is cooked
Optionally now taste and add more seasoning as needed, butter, etc
Was v yummy and took only 30 minutes total incl onion choppage. It wasnt the most filling thing ever so i ate it with two eggs and some parm cheese mixed in. Gonna try a variation next week w tonato sauce
I also think it was better the bext day as it did end up a lil watery from the frozen veg and stuff

My version of Quesadillas
There is a funny story behind this, since I once ate something like this in the food hall in Bremen and I loved it, but cannot find sometjing similar to the adobe pepper sauce I had with them. I loved the spice from it.
Anyway, it is really simple since you just use a grated cheese you like, I use Gouda both young and old and some fake or real cheddar depending on what is in the fridge. Saute onions, paprikas amd mushrooms untill nice and fried, add some jalapeno pepper if you like some heat. Use salami or chorizo as your meat.
Lay your tortilla open and put on the following layers: cheese, meat, tiny bit if cheese, veggies, more cheese. Either fold in half or put 2 on each other and bake in the oven or fry them in a pan. We eat these with some homemade guac, sambal and creme fraiche.
My homemade guac
Stamp your avocado untill it is a mush, add salt, pepper and some grated garlic, diced tonato and cucumber, and mix with mayonnaise (preferably Calvé, a creamy one)

Once in a while I like to purchase and try different types of pasta shapes and see how it tastes and holds up in diffeent sauces. I buy it fresh or dry in bulk when I can. Pasta is a well-loved cooking staple—inexpensive to make, yet versatile enough to turn into so many dishes.
I picked up trofiette pasta to go with my tonato sauce I already made at home.Found out that the these twisted…

North Italy Food Festival, Alto Vino, Marriott, Bangalore
Detailed review with more pictures - https://madraasi.com/2017/03/07/north-italy-food-festival-alto-vino-marriott-bangalore/
Our food started right from the salad – Vitello Tonato (Veal slow cooked and served with tuna and capers sauce), La Cisra (chickpeas coup and winter vegetables)- soup was too good, as the winter vegetables were cooked in the chickpeas boiled water, Branzillo alla livornese (marinated seabass, toasted in cherry tomato, olives, cappers and potato), Pannacotta alla fragalla (crunchy chocolate and strawberry pannacotta) – dessert was mind blowing, also there was chocolate shavings all over the plate which adds more beauty.
