I have a policy (that I just made up, in my head) that I'm not going to write a fic if it would be incomprehensible to anyone who hasn't seen a bunch of stupid fandom discourse. I am often inspired by bad fandom takes, so it's a fine line.

And that's why I'm not writing my grim the-law-is-wrong idea.
