Eddsworld x Reader Drabbles
———
Characters: Tom
Warnings: None! Might get suggestive though…
Author’s note: This’ll be split into parts :3 How many ? Idk !! I’ll edit this post to add the links if i ever get to it.
—————
First impressions
> Tom is of particular interest to anyone he encounters. He stands out, and not just because of his literal voids-for-eyes, but because of that damn attitude.
> In 2024, it’s addressed as the sassy man apocalypse, but universally, Tom is dubbed an asshole… amongst a bunch of other very colorful colloquialisms.
> When Tom chooses to speak to anyone, it’s not the accent that swings first, it’s the quickness of his “don’t care” response that uppercuts, and he relishes in watching people struggle to find the words to respond.
> For whatever fantastical and universal reason, when he came across you, things were different… and no, he didn’t change overnight because he saw you and it was “love at first sight”. More so, your ability to rebuttal his stupidity stood out.. and he wanted to know what made you.. you.
> Admittedly, when you met Tom, you were hooked. Something about having a taste for men with a less than stellar track record.. and that’s putting it lightly.
> The light and unintentional tan, the eyes, the dirty blonde hair, the piercings, the way the moles on his face were placed in an aesthetically pleasing way… need you go on?
> You pondered if he had any muscle to match the verbal punches he gave those around him.
> He definitely smells like alcohol.. but you’re also picking up the scent of ‘male manipulator’ cologne.. it’s soft but it’s there.
> Totally random, but are those fuzzy dice hanging off the side of his jeans? Amazing. Goes well with the mini harpoon gun keychain next to it.
> “..and this is Tom! Tom, say hi to y/n!” The taller boy in green motioned to the freak in blue, and you beamed as you waved at him. He came prepared, however, with an umbrella that naturally blocked your rays. In other words, he had a resting bitch face.
> Cliche, but you knew that if push came to shove, he cared about hurting others— he has emotions. You just didn’t know how much it would take for him to show them.
> You had all the time in the world… well! Technically, as much time as your landlord wanted to give you when renewing the lease. You and the three taller boys in front of you lived in the same complex. You needed a place to stay while studying away at uni.. and this place was perfect. The fact new friends came with it was a plus you didn’t really see coming.
>“Twiddling with your hair isn’t gonna make it grow any longer.” a gruff voice said. You looked up to match the voice with Tom. His voice sounds like he just woke up from a bad hangover, and honestly you wouldn’t be surprised if that was the exact scenario. Considering, well…
> “And drinking more won’t make the problems any better,” you retorted and gestured towards him and his flask , “exhibit A.” The blue boy was taken a back, clearly by the way his facial expression illustrated confusion.
> “Some people do it for the fun of it.”
> “Some people should really pick up a book if they consider taking a swigs’ a hobby..”
> “Oh really?”
> “Make the book high school biology, yes.” what a nerdy response , you say you yourself.
> The two of you stared each other down. Honestly though, what was there to stare into? Trying to find his soul was like walking in the dark, really. Your peripheral vision caught the redhead and the green hoodie boy fidgeting in place, so you knew to stop here.
> To your surprise, Tom’s face then broke character with a smile.
> Oh.. his smile.
> Toothy, sly, and alluring. Your face was heating up. The way his lips curled.. it was something you wanted to see more often. It’s decided then.
> “You’re different, y/n, I’ll give you that.” You then snapped back into reality after feeling his hand land on your shoulder a little rough like.. especially since the spiked bracelet he wore on that hand jabbed a little into your skin.
> Make no mistake, you were attracted to him surface level. However, you wanted to know more. Little did you know he shared the same sentiment.
How did you find out
> Tom sucks at compliments. No, really! Especially when he’s crushing on someone.
> He doesn’t want anyone to find out. Which is code for he doesn’t wanna seem vulnerable to anyone. His rationale is if he were to compliment someone, that person and the others around them will get to thinking.
> You, however, are blissfully unaware.
> Tom sucks at hiding his feelings. Shit, he sucks at hiding anything in general. He wears his emotions on his sleeves, and then expresses them in a pretty fucked up way. So, no, your ignorance isn’t because he’s good at bottling things in. It’s because you’re genuinely empty in the noggin.
> Everyone around you knows. Tom knows everyone knows. It’s just better if he gaslights himself into thinking otherwise, it helps him sleep at night.
> Your presence amongst the group is almost a daily occurrence. Edd tries to throw hints, but they’re drowned out but Tom’s sudden outbursts.
> Sudden outbursts could range from burping, shouting vulgarities, injuring himself ‘by accident’ and then channeling his inner sailor some more, or punches to the arm of the messenger. You take your guess, he’s probably done the latter.
> Back to the compliments. There was a particular time where Matt and you decided to have a silly little shopping trip. His invite! You guys went around 10 in the morning, only to come back to Matt’s apartment around 8 in the night. To your surprise, you see Edd and Tom already comfortable on the couch. Tom was in a tight band t-shirt and some sweats, while Edd wore a silly creeper onesie.
> “How was the adventure you two?” Edd hums and smiles. You struggled with your bags and gently placed them down to the side. You had quite a few and your arms felt a wave of relief once you set them down. “I had so much fun! Matt was super helpful in my wardrobe cleanse mission.”
> Matt frowned slightly as he set his bags down and his hands magnetized to his hips, “ What’dya mean cleanse? We didn’t buy cleaning supplies!” You giggled at his empty headed moment and changed the subject.
> “Want a fashion show?” You smiled once you noticed Edd’s visible excitement at the prospect. You also couldn’t help but notice Tom shifting in his seat at the mention. You took a glance in that direction and decided to be a little direct.
> “How about you, Tom?” He cringed at your question. Again, not because of your doing.. necessarily… but because he was nervous. His head was being imaginative, put it like that.
> “…Whatever..” He mumbled, and you shrugged it off. Fashion show time!
> You and Matt were having fun doing silly poses and pretending to vouge. Edd was super encouraging, loved every outfit, and even clapping to the music that was playing. Tom, however, was sunken in the sofa with his arms crossed just glaring at the floor.
> Tom isn’t and wasn’t going to praise you. Again, he had a weird stigma about compliments.
> However, those lowrise bell bottom jeans with that studded belt and that fitted sleeved shirt in what he knows is your favorite color. He couldn’t help but stare at your waist and what little view of your chest your shirt had to offer.
> You noticed how Tom rose in his seat, and felt your face break into a sly smile at the realization that he was interested. His face screamed that sentiment. Everyone noticed it too, and it quickly got silent.
> You try to poke. “What’s with the face, nerd.”
> He deflected next. “You look stupid.”
> “Do I really?”
> “Not gonna repeat myself twice.”
> “If I didn’t know any better, I’d say I’ve piqued your interest.”
> “You fucking wish. I’d never be into someone like you. Honestly, you’re such an air—”
> “Hey Tom, your face is really red… are you okay?”
> “Yeah.. Tom… you look like you’re suffocating! I’ve never seen you so-”
> Tom threw up his hands in surrender and shouted “I’m out!” With that, he stood up and walked out. There was a brief moment of silence before there was a slam of the door. You looked back at your friends and sighed, “Sorry guys.. maybe I took it too far..”
> “Seriously..?” Matt facepalmed.
> “What..! I Already said s—“
> “What Matt means to say is, have you really not noticed yet?” Edd asked genuinely concerned. You looked at him and laughed awkwardly before realizing he was serious. “What’s.. what.. huh..? What did I do.. wait- what’s going on?”
> “Tom is whipped for you, y/n,” Matt exclaimed, “Even I knew that!” You felt your face heat up and your head whipped around to face both at them.
> “Huh..?” is all you could manage out before you focused on Edd.
> “Yes! He just doesn’t know how to express it.“ You swing your head to look over to Matt and begin to twitch, “He needs to figure it out then!”
> “That’s the thing y/n, he doesn’t do that all the time. It’s just with you. Sure him and I have our moments, and then there was Tord, but those two genuinely couldn’t get along. Have you not noticed that after your arguments how he hides his face-” Matt then interjects, “Or that time when it was your birthday, and he helped you clean cake off your face after arguing about how much of a slob you were,” Edd then copied Matt, “or when you had just failed your chemistry exam, and all you could do was sulk and watch My Little Pony, and so he stayed the night with you saying the excuse that-“ and in unison the two sung: “I’m bored, and terrorizing y/n sounds like fun.”
> You felt your face heat up recalling just those handful of moments. “I thought he was just being a friend…” you mumbled.
> “It would…! If it was anyone but Tom, of course.” Edd chuckled and shrugged. He was right.
> The MLP binge watch weekend should’ve been so obvious. I mean, come on, you two shared a throw blanket and your legs intertwined with his. Tom isn’t touchy with anyone. You had failed a chemistry exam, yes. It got especially emotional since that week you were already feeling homesick, and you had sacrificed phone time with your family to study.. and failure. When Tom came over, you’d cry everytime the episode had a familial lesson— it sucked. Next thing you knew, Tom put aside your one sided beef when he wrapped you into a tight hug.
> “Well what now…?”
> “Run to him!!!” Matt exclaimed dramatically.
> Do you even wanna give the punk rock boy a chance?
How did he find out
> Laying there sprawled out across his bed was Tom. His bed was the safe haven in the mess that was his room.
> Dirty room. Very Cluttered. Clothes scattered the floors, clean and dirty. It smelled like his cologne took a stroll through a bar.. minus the pungent scent of stomach acid.
> His bed consisted of his precious Tomee bear, two pillows with gray cases on them, and 6 blankets. Half of those blankets were throws, but still.. why so many blankets?
> Posters scattered across his room walls. Old band posters, classic anime franchises, and a few posters of video game crushes he had over the years. In the corner was a cluster of polaroids of all his friends! Yes, Tord included… and yes, even you.
> Tom found himself shifting his gaze from the white ceiling to that corner. There was a picture you took where he was caught mid laugh and you took the opportunity and posed with your polaroid. He loved that picture, to the point where he placed it in a position where it would be the first one his eyes went for. That day, he thought you looked the prettiest. Not like you don’t look pretty everyday, it’s just that one he appreciated because you were in bliss. All he could do that entire night was fight back a smile when you smiled, when you laughed, and when you looked at him with those caring warm eyes.
> “What am I thinking…” He groaned and threw his hands over his face. He wants to tell you, trust, he really does! He’s just.. afraid of rejection.
> It’s a pretty typical fear amongst many people. So he wasn’t alone. He just feels humiliated and embarrassed for having weaknesses. What if those feelings transferred to the relationship? Is there even a potential relationship.
> Gosh you were so pretty to him. He loved every detail about you. There wasn’t a moment he didn’t fantasize about you. He’d probably take you to a museum for a first date.
> Tom loves art. It’s kinda obvious. Unless you view music and art as separate catagories that never merge.. then I don’t know what to tell you.
> He noticed what kind of media you consume, which was a lot of animation, and he wanted to explore other genres with you on that first date. So what better place than a museum?
> There was a knock.
> It shook the man out of his fantastical wonderland, and he shot up.
> Tom has this terrible habit of opening the door without checking the peephole. Opening the door he found himself devoid of air coming face to face with the person in front of them.
> It was you.
> You weren’t wearing the outfit you were modeling earlier. To be fair it’s been about 2 hours since then. You were wearing a silly cat onesie, and in your hand was a reusable grocery bag. Unknown to him, you gambled on having a sleepover with him, and in your bag was a bunch of ingredients to make milkshakes.
> He didn’t have the energy to disguise the emotions he was feeling, and leaning against the door frame, he spoke to break the ice.
> “Uhh, what’s- What’s up ?”
> “Wanna have a sleepover?”, you smiled and shifted the bag to the front of your knees and grabbed it with both hands.
> “Uhmm..” he shifted off the doorframe and let out an unsure sigh. Grabbing the ends of his fitted band tee, he pulled and looked behind him.
> “If it’s a mess you’re worried about, I don’t mind! I can even help you clean up.” you offered.
> “Oh no- you.. you don’t have to do that. Uh. I’m down, I was just caught off guard because when you showed up I was zoned out.” he nervously laughed and opened his door wider, gesturing for you to walk in.
> You walked in and set the grocery bag down on the kitchen island to the left. He went straight for the bag and started snooping while you started picking up items to clear the space you were going to get comfortable in.
> “Smirnoff…?” He said in an almost childlike wonder way.
> “Ah, yeah,” you started, “I remembered it was your go to at bars, and I wanted to see how it would taste in a milkshake.”
> Oh you were perfect.
> “Also, Tom, We need to talk.. but don’t get mad with me.”
> Tom scoffed and turned around to start the dishes, “I could never be mad at you y/n, don’t be stupid.”
> “I don’t, actually. I feel like some of our bickers are not jokes.”
> “Well to clarify, I’m only teasing.”
> “Back to the point, Tom,” you started and he hummed in response, “I like you Tom.”
> No.
> “Yeah me too y/n. You’re fun to be around.”
> “Nono, Tom, I mean.. romantically.”
> The sound of dishes stopped with a crash of glass. Nothing broke, but it was loud enough to startle you.
> You stood up and turned to look towards Tom to see him standing there with wide white eyes and a red face.
> “What..?” He said like a child, and it made you laugh.
> “Yeah, I love being around you, I like your presence.. albeit I could live without the insults, but I love your sass and your jokes. You’re funny, you’re pretty, and I wanna know more about you.. more than the Tom I know.”
> “y/n.”
> “Yea?”
> “I don’t even know what to say in this situation, but know I do feel the same. I feel strongly..? If I could jump off the walls like a damn molecule, I would. Y/n, I really like you too.”
> “Oh what a relief. For a second, you had me believing that the boys were wrong.”
> Tom laughed.. out loud. It made your heart melt because it was a genuine one for once, “You dummy! I’m sure you had Edd and Matt biting their fingernails in frustration over this.”
> “i’m sorry I didn’t notice sooner!”
> “I’m just happy you noticed at all.”

tongue in cheek - three
Tom Bennett x f!reader
word count: 1.3k ▪︎ masterlist ▪︎ part one ▪︎ part two ▪︎ part four
The reader finds herself properly settling in the Bennett household, much to Tom's pleasure.
Tumblr media
a/n: I've set the story post-WW2. So if in S1 of the show, Tom was around 23-24(?), here he is 26-28. The reader and Lois are just a bit younger than him. Also, I've only watched Tom's scenes so I'm probably not going to write 100% in line with the world of World on Fire! But the focus here is - Tom and the reader 🖤
- - - - - - - - - - - - - - -
Time seems to pass quickly under the Bennett household.
With everyone keeping busy – you with your job at the local paper, Lois as a secretary for the newly-created NHS, Douglas getting his veteran support group up and running, and Tom… well, Tom just does what he does, let’s put it that way.
Just two weeks prior, a few days after the window incident, an issue arose with your former accommodation. More so with your former landlord, that is, and how he has all but kicked you out of the flat due to “safety concerns”.
It all boiled down one morning, with that telegram sent to you by your landlord, telling you to retrieve the remains of your possessions from the flat. Apparently, he was enraged about the damage done to the wall, even though you had already explained that it was your neighbour’s doing. Additionally, you had been asked to pay a hefty fine for “reparations”.
And it wasn’t that bad. “Clearly the ol’ bloke is just trying to rinse a bit more money out of ya,” Tom exclaimed, after he fished the telegram from your hand.
“Impossible,” you scoffed, “how is he coming up with this shit now? We agreed that he would have that damned wall repaired. We even spoke to the man living on the other side of that bloody wall and he explained everything - ”
Tom put a hand on your arm, making you cease your rant.
“Want me to beat him up for ya, doll?” His thumb gently caressed your upper arm. For a second, you forgot all about the problem at hand.
“I… well…”
Douglas intervened, “There will be no beatin’ up anybody, son. Surely this man can be reasoned with, and if not, then there’s going to be a solution, y/n. We’re here to help.”
You breathed out, already relieved. “Thank you, Douglas.”
“Right, maybe it’s all for the best, doll. After all, I’ve gotten way too used to having you sleep in the same room as me.” Tom said with his signature shit-eating smirk. You attempted to appear unaffected, and rolled your eyes in return.
“Sure.” You shrugged your shoulders, looking around the living room. What to do now? “I suppose I should head over there, find out if anything can be done, but if the flat is lost…” Your voice broke slightly at the end.
“Then you can stay with us. I’m sure Lois will be happier for it.” Douglas smiled comfortingly.
“And me.” Tom mumbled under his breath, but you heard it clearly.
“I’ll pay rent,” you said determinedly, “I’ll help out with everything around the house.”
“There’s no need for that, kid. We’re happy to have you.” Douglas patted you on the back.
You turned to face Tom, who had been lounging in a chair, cigarette carelessly dangling from his lips. He breathed out a puff of smoke, and the motion catches your eye. His lips began to curve in mischief when he caught you looking, “So, dollface? Shall we?” He stood up, and held a hand out for you to take.
“Pardon?” You asked, startled out of your haze.
“There's no way you’re going to go meet this arse all by yourself. I’m coming with ya, and there’s nothing you can do about it.”
And that was that. You found yourself saddled with your new living arrangement. Weeks on, you can admit that you have gotten used to being the “honorary Bennett”, as Lois kindly puts it.
You can also admit, albeit reluctantly, that Tom Bennett is starting to get under your skin.
- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -
“It’s just a small shindig, a few blocks from here. Should be fun.” Tom says. The partition between his and yours and Lois’ beds is pushed aside, and you can see him completely. Clad in nothing but boxers and a tattered wife beater, Tom sure has gotten comfortable around you.
Not that he ever wasn’t.
The three of you remain awake late into the night, conversing. You sit by the foot of your bed, sipping from a cup of tea, while Lois leans against the headboard, newspaper in hand.
“A bit too soon for that, isn’t it?” Lois remarks, referring to the end of the war, which officially happened just one year prior. Everyone still feels the effects of the devastation suffered, but life goes on. Britain is currently in rehabilitation mode, tending to the infrastructure and the various industries. Majority of the soldiers and officers have since been repatriated, including Tom.
“Don’t think so,” Tom puffs his smoke, “if anythin’, we should bloody celebrate.”
“Could be a good idea.” You shrug. “We haven’t had a chance to just… be… you know? Not for a really long time.”
“That’s right, sweetheart.” Tom smiles at you, and you mirror the gesture.
Lois narrows her eyes at the exchange. She hasn’t been blind as to how Tom is around you. Not that Tom doesn’t have his way around dames – he normally draws them in like moth to a flame, with his charm and devil-may-care ways. But with you…
It’s like her brother is the moth and you’re the sacred ball of light.
Lois thinks it may be only a matter of time before things get going, as it tends to be in these situations. But she also thinks that you might be too guarded, and Tom too roguish.
With the two of you, it could possibly take a while.
“Alright,” Lois relents, “tomorrow night, was it?”
“Yeah,” Tom confirms, “you can take Harry if you want.”
“I’m sure he’d love that.” Lois thumbs through her paper, her attention caught on the page.
Standing, you place your teacup on the dresser against the wall opposite the two beds. You stand in front of the mirror, and roll out the tension in your shoulders. The ease it brings causes you to momentarily shut your eyes, but after some movement, one strap of your nightgown falls.
Before you can pull it up in a haste, Tom stands behind you, his fingers taking hold of the fallen strap. Slowly, he takes it back up your shoulders, grazing your skin along the way.
The entire time, his blue eyes are locked on yours in the mirror. Tom is arrested by the way your lips are slightly parted, by your startled expression. By the feel of your skin, the sight of your exposed décolletage.
The reflection betrays the fact – that of the moth and his flame.
Then the sound of shuffling newspaper crunches in the room, and you turn to see Lois getting up to leave. “I could use some tea,” she mutters quickly, and she flashes you a knowing smile before shutting the door behind her.
What on earth? The moment persists for a few more seconds, before you found the nerve to speak.
“Hmm,” you place your hand above his and pry it from your shoulder, “good job, Tom. I think we’ve made your sister uncomfortable.”
When you turn around, he stands close. Very close. He towers over you, making you lean back against the dresser, almost sitting atop it.
One think you notice is that Tom doesn’t have his usual smug smirk. Rather, his brows are slightly furrowed, as if he is pondering something.
His teeth clamp on his bottom lip, and he just… stares at you.
You look to the side, searching for something. Anything. A distraction. But that doesn’t last long, because Tom finally makes a move, cupping your face with one hand, and prying it towards him.
He leans in, eyes heavy-lidded.
“Tom?”
He pauses halfway, “I’d like to try something, doll.”
“Try someth - ”
You don’t get to finish the words.
end of part three.

Know you better
Adam Warlock x Reader
Plot: It’s moving day and you meet a handsome stranger due to unexpected circumstances. Shenanigans occur that ultimately get the two of you closer.
Genre: PG-13 (Neighbor, Modern Day AU)
A/N: I did not write this till 2am😂 Might as well capitalize on these influx of ideas while I can right? I intended for this to be a meet cute kind of thing, so hopefully it looks that way to you readers?😅 Reblogs and feedback always appreciated!💜
Shamelessly tagging my partner in crime for Adam🤡: @tom-whore-dleston
Tumblr media
Finally.
You had your very own living space. Amidst skyrocketing rentals and weird landlords, you managed to get a decent space beside the train station. That will earn you a few minutes of extra sleep in your battle of commuting to work. You set the last of your box in the room.
Making sure that everything was accounted for, you went back down to settle the bill with the moving company.
Heading back up, you see a shadow at the entrance of your door. You shouldn’t have cursed your luck. You spot the communal potted plant beside the lift and decide that would have to settle as your weapon of choice.
As you control your breathing, you take tiny steps forward, hoping to get a glimpse of which idiot was dumb enough to commit a house burglary at two in the afternoon. The shadow starts to move and you prepare for the worst…
“Excuse me?” Someone pipes up from behind, nearly sending you into cardiac arrest. “I’m so sorry, I didn’t mean to scare you.” You turn around to see a male with curly brown hair, listening to a cassette tape. “I was wondering if you saw a friend of mine? He’s about 6’3, golden hair and eyes if you stare hard enough.” The male chuckles at his own description.
“Quill?” The supposed burglar steps out of your house, looking at the two of you in confusion.
“Adam, what the hell? You can’t just enter a stranger’s house?” The male frowns, rushing to pull his friend out of your residence. “I’m so sorry, I think he must have gotten the numbers mixed up. We’re having a party today for one of our friends.” He extends a hand. “The name’s Peter Quill.”
You can’t help but to feel relieved, any easy smile etched on your face. “Thank goodness. For a minute there I thought I would have to call the cops. It’s nice to see you neighbor.” You move towards the other man, extending your hand for a shake. “Sorry for wanting to throw a plant on you.” You apologized sheepishly. “Nice to meet you, Adam..?”
“Adam. Adam Warlock.”
***
Six months later,
Each day was the same, familiar routine. Work, home or the resident gym that you probably frequented the most out of all the residents. Except for Peter who would occasionally engage with you in small talk. Then one day, you stopped seeing Peter.
You don’t blame the guy. Gym routines are notoriously hard to keep up with while trying to survive in this bustling city. It was a Friday evening and you were glad to be able to leave the office on time. Walking to the gym, you see that the lights are on. Curious, you push the doors open to see who else has decided to work out a sweat along with you.
You see a familiar muscular back lifting weights at the corner, oblivious to your entrance. He breathes out once more, earning a well deserved water break.
“Adam?”
The man turns around, initially alarmed but happy when he finds out who it is.
“Evening. Working out?” He sets the weights neatly back to their original position. Grabbing his bottle, Adam walks over to you, taking big gulps. You find yourself looking at how his sleeveless shirt had accentuated his arms. Focus. You harshly reprimanded yourself.
“Yeah. Was cramped up in office all day. Thought it’ll be good to sweat it out.” Your tone was a little higher than usual. “Hey, do you where Peter is? I haven’t seen him in a while.”
“He’s moved out. Found a place nearer to his grandfather. Peter didn’t want to sell this place to just anyone and I needed a place.” Adam tells you. You couldn’t deny but a part of you was delighted at the news.
“So… we’re neighbors now?”
“Neighbors.” He confirms with a boyish smile. “Oh, if you don’t mind, I think I should return back to my weights. Shouldn’t rest for too long.”
“Of course. I should get going too.” You make your way to the treadmill, not before giving one last quick glance at his shaped rear as he started to perform a series of squats.
***
“That hot guy you tried to take out with a plant?” Your best friend and colleague in crime squeals. “Girl, you have to tell me more!”
You sighed. “I wish I could Liz, but I barely see him except when he’s in the gym! Not that I’m complaining though, you should see him at pull ups.” Your brain goes into overdrive, thinking about last Friday’s gym session.
As usual, it was only the two of you. It was kind of an unspoken agreement, going around quietly to get the endorphins going. Instead of the boring treadmill, you opted for the dynamic rower machine, having a first hand view of Adam’s behind in full glory. It certainly did not help that the gym was surrounded by mirrors, giving you a sneak preview of his toned stomach.
“I need the photos.” Your friend insists. “All this talk and I would think you’re talking about a Greek god!”
You open your mouth only to close it shut. She did have a point. If you knew better, Adam was probably sculpted in the museum before being gifted to mankind. Room suddenly feeling much warmer, you decide to move out to the small balcony, still holding up the phone in front of you.
“He is! Too bad I can’t say anything else but ‘hi’ and ‘bye’ because I almost took him out with a plant! I know he thinks I must be crazy.” You groaned. “I guess I can still continue to dream about my unattainable, utterly sexy, Greek god right?”
You notice that Liz has went silent on the other end, eyes widened. You whip around to find that Adam was also at his balcony, reading a novel that was now abandoned at the side as he stares at you curiously.
Oh. My. God.
Your new and very hot neighbor had just overheard your entire conversation with Liz. About him.
Kill me now. Your brain freezes and time has paused. Instead of walking back like a dignified woman your mother always trained you to be, you scramble back in, knocking over your plastic yellow IKEA stool in the process.
Locking the sliding door, you draw the curtains before landing flat on the sofa, shocked into silence. Liz breaks the silence first, as she burst out into raucous laughter.
“Girl! You did not just did what I think you did!” She’s out of breath and you can almost see the tears threatening to spill from the corner of her eyes.
“Is there anyway to be wiped from Earth? At least until he forgets.” You whined, resulting in a cackle from your friend. How wonderful. Within a span of six months, you’ve managed to colossally embarrass yourself twice.
“It ain’t too bad.” You frown at Liz’s attempt to be serious. “Personally, I would be flattered. Maybe a little creeped out but flattered nonetheless.” She gives a mischievous grin. “Especially when you tried to bonk him with a pot on your first meeting.”
“Liz! Not helping!”
***
Thankfully, the next couple of days weren’t as bad as you expected. You didn’t run into Adam in the hallway or the lift while going to work, and you found yourself staying in the office to complete last minute tasks.
Friday came around and you took longer than usual to change into your gym gear. As much as you prayed for Adam to magically not be there, you were sure that a guy like Adam would not skip his regime unless he had a very good reason. Rounding the corner, you see the lights on, confirming his presence.
Here goes nothing.
The gush of cool air greets you as the door opens and you thank your lucky stars. Adam is on the treadmill this time, and with wired headphones plugged into an iPod. You were remotely amazed that people still had such an old device. Then again, you weren’t too surprised seeing that Peter had a cassette on your first meeting.
You decide that trying to avoid him wasn’t going to help you. Instead, you chose to play it cool. Catching his sight from the reflection, you give a small wave that he returned, indicating that you were going to start your workout.
Pressing the play button on your phone, you started your own routine, pushing out the thoughts of your embarrassing encounters with Adam to get the most out of your exercise.
The continuous feminist anthems that you prepared for times like these worked its magic, as you were engrossed in completing your abdominal exercises on the reclining bench. Finishing your final set, you slowly lie back down, hoping to catch your breath before taking a quick break.
You certainly did not expect yourself to be upside down, facing Adam’s crotch in close proximity. Giving a loud gasp, you fall on to the mat, landing ungracefully.
Why did the universe conspire against you? You see Adam’s mouth moving, a concerned look on his face and you realized you’re still wearing your headphones . “Hi!” You squeak, once you removed them.
“That’s fine. Are you alright?” Adam asks. “Sorry I scared you. That was a pretty hard fall there.”
“Yes, I’m fine! Do you want to use this? I’m sorry I took so long.” You rattled off, not giving him a chance to speak. You stumble from standing up a little too quickly. Adam rushes forward to help you but you reassure him while dusting yourself off. You don’t need another accident today.
“Go ahead! It’s all yours.” You bend down and fumbled for your things, deciding that maybe you had enough exercise for today and that it was time to retreat when Adam holds you by the wrist, hesitant to start. “Have I offended you in anyway?”
You blink at the sudden question. “No. Of course not.”
“Then why do I feel like you’re avoiding me?”
You wince at the sharp question, hearing your heart crack a little at the sight of Adam looking like a puppy who had just been disciplined. That’s the thing, he didn’t do anything wrong.
How do you tell him without revealing your growing crush on him and not look any more weirder than you made yourself out to be?
“Well…” You start, suddenly finding your trainers to be very interesting. “I thought you would have been freaked out by what I said the other time.” Adam cocks his head slightly in confusion and you mentally kick yourself. “You know, about how you look like a Greek god.” You mumble the last couple of words.
“I’m sorry?”
Was that deliberate? You could feel your face turning redder than they already were from your workout. You gathered your courage to stare at him straight in the eye, desperately trying to ignore the faint freckles across his cheeks.
“I said, you would have been weirded out by your neighbor lusting over you because of your stupid good looks!” You raised your voice, not realizing the damage you just caused yourself until the words had spilled out of your mouth.
It was Adam’s turn to digest what you had just said. That did not stop him from breaking out into a dopey grin that only caused your heart to beat faster.
“Thank god for that. I was starting to think otherwise.”
What did he mean by that?
Adam appears to have read your mind and chuckles, the deep vibration creating butterflies in your stomach. He scratches the back of his head and if you weren’t mistaken, he was… nervous?
“I was hoping I could get to know you better, outside of this gym that is. You see, I couldn’t forget about you since our first meeting.” He laughs sheepishly at the thought of almost being charged for breaking and entering. “I never seen someone look absolutely threatening yet adorable while holding a plant as a weapon.”
You can’t tell if he’s being serious but you let him continue. “I wanted to talk to you, but I figured after that first meeting it probably wasn’t wise to suddenly appear at your doorstep without any reason. So when Peter was going to move out, I jumped at the opportunity.”
At Adam’s revelation, you can’t help but to smile. He takes this as a sign of encouragement and goes on. “I was waiting for the right time to ask you out and I must admit, I had cold feet on certain days. So when I heard that conversation with your friend, I was… glad.”
If Liz saw you now, she would have been gleaming with pride at her accurate assessment of Adam’s reaction to your feelings towards him.
“Maybe, we both got on the wrong foot. A shaky start. How about we try again? My name’s Adam.” He offers a hand and you giggle at the familiar scene. You extend yours to meet his. “My name’s Y/N. It’s very nice to meet you.”
You can’t believe how fast the night changes, how lucky you got with the move six months ago. You swore that he held onto your hand for a few more seconds before letting go. Adam grins.
“It’s nice to meet you too. Would you like to join me for dinner tonight? Say, to get to know each other better.”
“I would love that.”

good bad luck | p. parker
Tumblr media
the black cat — a master burglar who has come swinging into peter’s life like a fist, to snap him out of it with witty comments and breath-taking punches. even when he thinks he hates her, he absolutely adores her, and unfortunately for him, he’s failed to realize he’s falling until he’s inches off the ground…
PAIRING: peter parker (mcu) x blackcat! fem reader
WORD COUNT: 6k
CONTENTS: post nwh, peter’s pov, pining and blushy messy peter, some suggestive stuff but mostly sfw, a lot of cute banter and a heist? also, i mention the cat has white hair like once, but she’s completely self-insertable, just like the rest of my fics!
A/N: tried to be as loyal to the black cat as I could because I adore her in the comics, but I totally made her my own here for the sake of having a version that would make sense with a younger Peter :)  first time writing for Tom’s Peter and I’m: scared. ok enjoy <3
Peter’s number one, most hated, vilest enemy he’s fighting nowadays is… biochemistry. And he’s losing, by a lot. Not because he doesn't possess the capabilities to defeat said enemy, but because New York City doesn’t give him a damn rest, and he’s exhausted.
In the few months he’s been in college, to no one’s surprise, he’s already managed to be late on a pile of assignments. He doesn’t have the time to work on them, and even when he does and sits down to get on with it, it’s like his brain won’t stop running.
It should be easy for him—he’s good at it and he’s passionate about it, after all—but he can’t focus on the task at hand. His brain keeps shifting back to the city, to the rooftops, to the people who need his help, to her, and suddenly his cheeks start heating up and he’s back to thinking of how good it would feel to swing around the city, with the sun behind him and the wind whizzing by, clearing his mind of everything.
Peter huffs, clicking the delete key on his run-down laptop until the two lines he’s managed to write in the last half an hour disappear from the document, leaving it blank once more. His suit stares back at him from the other side of the room, laying on a chair, the goggles on his mask ogling at him, as if begging him to please put it on and take it out for a stroll.
For a few seconds he thinks he’s actually going to give in, but then he shakes his head, reprimanding himself and murmuring a No. No, Peter. No. He can’t keep avoiding his responsibilities, he needs to get the assignment done. College is far too expensive for him to throw it all away just to swing around like a monkey. He’ll have plenty of time to do that later.
He accommodates back on his chair, cracks his knuckles, and is about to begin typing away when–
Tap tap tap.
His head shoots to his right, facing the window where the sound has come from, to be met with nothing but that—the window. Chastising himself for getting distracted once more, he returns to his work, thinking it must have been the wind, or a knocking next-door.
But as soon as he looks away, there it is again, tap tap tap on the glass.
He turns on his chair once more, expecting nothing again, but gives a little jump at what he sees, surprisingly startled.
A head hangs upside down from the top of his window, wide eyes staring at him through even bigger spectacles, hair the color of snow flowing in the breeze.
He furrows, “Again?”
She waves happily, still upside down, and points at the lock on the window, asking him to let her in. She could bust it open easily—she is the best cat burglar ever, after all—but she doesn’t want to get him in trouble with his landlord. Not again.
“What are you doing?” he asks, slightly annoyed as she jumps over the windowsill and into his one-room apartment.
“Aren’t you happy to see me?” she asks with that playfulness that comes naturally to her, even in the worst of situations.
“I told you not to come around here, Cat. Someone could see you.”
“So what? No one’s gonna think you,” a sharp fingernail pokes at his chest, “Of all people, are Spider-Man.”
“Wow, thank you. A lot. That’s really kind.”
“I’m joking, Spider. Who’s gonna see me hanging out of your window on a 4th story, anyway?”
“My neighbors? I don’t know. Don’t do it again.”
“Relax, Spider-Boy. I won’t,” she rolls her eyes, and he knows reprimanding her is of no use. She’ll do it again whenever she pleases.
Peter’s eyes follow her as she moves around his apartment comfortably, opening up cabinets in search of food, running her fingers over the notes on biophysical chemistry on his kitchen counter, straightening up items here and there. He watches with narrow eyes as she finds a pack of cookies and pops one into her mouth, sitting down on his bed.
How has this become his life? Two months ago they were kicking each other’s asses out in the cold, and now she’s laying on his pillow. He’s not sure if he likes it or it unnerves him, how naturally it comes to her to invade his personal space.
“What are you up to? Wanna go out for a stroll?” she asks, still chewing.
“No. I’m doing school work.”
“Okay.”
They sit in silence while he waits for her to get the hint and leave, but she doesn’t, just stares at him. So he stares back, blinking awkwardly, arms crossed, and then cocks his head toward the window.
“Oh, you want me to leave?” she realizes.
“Well, yeah, I have things to do.”
“I’ll be really quiet,” she shakes her head, a grin on her face. “You won’t even notice I’m here.”
Sure.
He’s probably going to regret this, but how can he tell her no? She’s not going to leave either way, and the more he presses, the more she’ll do the exact opposite. He knows her well by now.
For a few minutes, as he stares at the blinking cursor on his screen, he actually believes he’s going to get some work done, but he can hear the tapping of her fingers on the leather of her suit, the steady up and down of her breathing, and if he concentrates hard enough, even the fluttering of her lashes. It’s driving him nuts.
His brain is foggy, and he’s itching for that freedom only the free-falling can provide him with. And he’s thinking of last week, when they played tag over Queens, swinging and chasing each other around narrow alleys and crowded streets. It’s just what he needs, exactly what the doctor ordered.
Peter gets up from his chair abruptly, closing his laptop and already reaching for his suit, “Okay, let’s go.”
And they’re stumbling back onto a rooftop, giggling and out of breath. This in particular is the one they favor, one that overlooks Central Park, and a little further away, the Empire State, peeking its pointy head over the less impressive skyscrapers.
They sit at the edge, legs dangling off the ledge, watching as the sun sets and hides behind the buildings in the distance, recalling the amazing stunt she’d pulled by swinging off his web and landing flawlessly on her feet.
It’s funny how things work. She found out about his identity completely by accident two months ago, catching him half naked in an alley, all bloody, with his suit torn and no mask on. “I knew you were cute, Spider,” was all she said as she offered him a hand to help him back home, and ever since then, they’d grown closer.
Now that she’s on his side–at least, most of the time–he finds himself enjoying his patrolling nights. Their nights together. Sometimes he even catches himself looking forward to the sun setting, running back home from class, dying to get into his suit just to do this. And he likes doing it with her. He’d spent so much time alone, he’d forgotten how good it felt to just be around somebody, no matter how bothersome they are.
It really does mess with his head, because technically, he’s not supposed to like her. She’s been trouble from the start, and she’s made things more complicated for him countless times, but he has so much fun with her. And sure, if he doesn’t think about the morality of her profession, she’s the best partner he could ask for.
“These are really good,” he points out, scrolling through the pictures she’d taken of him mid-air on his second-hand camera.
He’s been selling pictures of Spider-Man to The Bugle for a couple months now. It’s a job he’d rather not do—after all, they do literally hate his guts over there—but it’s one he has to do if he wants to keep a roof over his head. At least, now he doesn’t have to tape his camera to a wall to take his pictures. She does the job for him.
“I have many talents.”
“Yeah, I can tell,” he says absentmindedly.
Her brow shoots up, “Can you, now?”
His slow brain doesn’t realize she’s messing with him until a few seconds later, when he sees through the teasing smirk on her face and her comment downs on him. “I mean, thank you.”
“You’re so easy,” she laughs in a bright smile that reminds Peter a little too much of pure sunshine, pointing out his reddening cheeks. “Anyway, wanna make out?”
“Wh- what?” he chokes out. Did he hear correctly?
“I said: do you wanna get takeout?”
“I don’t think that’s what you said.”
“I’m pretty sure it is.”
He’s sure his face is bright red at this point. Now he’s really wishing he hadn’t taken his mask off. She’s messing with him again, and he’s fallen for it, again. How embarrassing. “Why are you like this?”
“Like what?”
“Do you have a thing for me blushing or…?”
“You are just so damn cute, Spider,” she bumps his shoulder, leaning into him slightly.
She blinks slowly, her lashes fluttering softly, and Peter starts shaking.
Maybe not literally, but on the inside, it feels like every cell on his body is vibrating, shaking away, like turbulence on an airplane, and he feels like he’s about to crash. It’s too late to worry about a bad landing, because he’s already trying to shove his wildly beating heart back into his ribcage before it spills out through his mouth.
Fortunately for him, just as he feels himself shifting forward the slightest bit, before he dares do something stupid, she stands up in a gush of energy and leaps onto the ledge of the roof.
She walks along the dangerously narrow path, putting one foot in front of the other with cat-like grace, her arms spread out. He knows her balance is quite literally perfect, knows she would never fall, and if she did, she would land on her feet, and yet, he can’t help it, it comes out of his mouth, easy as breathing, “Be careful.”
She turns around to face him, a smile on her face that is as sweet as is dangerous; a double edged sword. “Would you catch me? If I fell?”
“Always.”
And he means it, of course he does. She’s the closest thing he’s had to a friend the past few months, the only person who has been around, getting to know Spider-Man, and now Peter Parker alike.
After losing everything he’d ever had, he felt lost, angry and lonely. And that’s when she came around, swinging into his life like a fist, to slap him back into the world of the living and fill him with something other than grief.
Those first few months, when he chased her around the city, hoping to catch her with her hands on the smoking gun, he felt alive again. And then everything changed between them, and she went from foe to friend.
Now he can’t think about patrolling without thinking of her. He can’t picture the night without an image of her popping into his head, with her bratty attitude and wolfish grin, about to make a comment that will turn his ears pink. But he enjoys it, how she fills up the silence, how warm he feels next to her. Sometimes that warmth is anger and annoyance, sometimes it’s other things. Things he doesn’t dare admit, at least not yet.
She doesn’t say anything at his answer, even though he’s well aware that it sounds more like a confession than an offhand comment. If it has affected her in any way that isn’t prideful, she doesn’t let it show,  just smiles triumphantly.
She’s got him wrapped around her finger, and she knows it. And maybe he’s in deeper than he thought he was. Maybe.
•••
A week of absolutely no distractions and assignment after assignment has given Peter a lot of time to think about various things. He’s come to a few realizations:
He should probably not take off his mask when he’s around the Cat, just so he won’t give her the satisfaction of seeing him blush anymore.
College really is just not worth it.
He can’t live off of cheese strings and coffee.
College is not worth it again.
There’s a criminal organization in New York he needs to take down sooner than later.
Maybe he should’ve gone grocery shopping first, but he’s already barging into their shared rooftop, letting go of the web that swung him there to walk up to the Cat, already waiting for him and picking at her long nails.
“We’re gonna steal something!”
“Hello to you, too. Did you say “We”?” she grins, instantly intrigued. “That’s very immoral of you, Spidey.”
Normally, yes, he would find it immoral, but this is an exception. He’s been thinking about it for over a month now, and every time he runs it over in his head, it becomes more and more clear that he needs her expert hand if he wants it to be successful.
“It’s for the greater good.”
“Okay. What are we stealing?
“Just some records. Numbers. Proof.”
“Records,” her brow shoots up. “From whom?”
Peter kisses his cheek, dreading this moment, and whispers the answer through his teeth, almost inaudibly as he scratches at the nape of his neck. She gets a little closer to him, her inquisitive look piercing right through him, “Huh? You’re gonna have to speak a little louder. I don’t have your abilities, Spidey.”
“The Maggia.”
Her eyes widen. “The Maggia? Yeah, no, thank you,” she turns away from him and starts to walk in the opposite direction. “Already did that once and it was…not good.”
Maybe he doesn’t need need her help, but she is really good at what she does, and besides, he wants her by his side. Of course, he’s not about to tell her that, no need to feed her ego.
“Please,” he pouts under the mask, holding her back by her wrist so she doesn’t walk away from him. Begging doesn’t work with her, not at all, but he can try. “I can’t do it without you.”
Her stance softens at that, so she sighs, annoyed, “You know I’m all about being reckless, but not without a good reason. So what’s in it for me?”
“The satisfaction of knowing you’re going to help a lot of people by overthrowing organized crime?”
“Ugh,” her nose scrunches up in disgust.
“Why do you always need to get something out of it? We have a deal, don’t we? You help me sometimes, and I overlook your ‘visits’ to the Guggenheim,” he says, making air-quotes.
“Why do you care about that, anyway? I’m like Robin Hood.”
“You’re the British Museum at best.” She gasps, looking extremely offended for a few seconds, her hand over her heart, so he clarifies, “You don’t take from the rich to give to the poor.”
“Yes, I do. The rich being,” she makes a vague gesture with her hand, as if batting away some fly. “And the poor being me, of course.”
“I’m pretty sure that’s not how it works.”
“Whatever you say.”
“It doesn’t matter,” he shakes his head, catching her before she tries to divert the conversation. “Are you gonna help me or not?”
Her eyes roll, “Well, if I must…”
Barely a few hours later, once the sun has set, the crescent moon providing them with enough coverage in the shadows, they’re already on the go, towards the outskirts of the city.
It only takes them a few minutes to get to their destination, and once they do, they wait, watching the entrance of the property from their hiding place in the heights, observing in silence and coming up with their plan of action.
“Rooftop, you think? The skylight?” asks Peter.
“Yeah, that’ll be the quickest and safest way. You web me down, I’ll get whatever I can find. Nobody will even notice we were here. Easy as that.”
“Are you sure? I should go in with you.”
“No. They probably have security systems you won’t be able to recognize or avoid. I’ll go in. You keep watch.”
“I really think I should go in with you. What if–”
“Spider,” she interrupts him, getting closer to him until they’re face to face, inches away. “Let me do my thing. You don’t need to worry about it.”
Peter is not particularly fond of this plan, but she’s the expert at this sort of thing, so he follows after her, silently swinging past the guards patrolling the perimeter and landing on the rooftop unnoticed. Once they reach the skylight at the center of it, she pulls a pin out of her suit and starts fumbling with the lock with expert hands.
Nearly two seconds later, it pops open, “Ta-da!”
“Wow. You are really good at that.”
“The best,” she announces happily. “Alright, pull me down.”
They manage to create some sort of make-shift harness out of his webs, wrapping them around her waist tightly so he’ll be able to hold her easily and bring her in and out of the facility with no problem. Once they’re done, she jumps down into the building with no hesitation, and he steadies himself, bending his knees and planting his feet firmly on the floor to hold her up.
And damn her, because even now, as he slowly lowers her down the skylight, she looks beautiful, with the moon shining down on her, her body contorting on the web to keep herself steady, her doe eyes looking up at him, instructing him to go a little slower now, more to the right then.
The Cat has many good qualities and abilities, but Peter found out very quickly that the weapon she wields the best is her beauty—a perfectly angled knife that slashes through him, punctures his lungs and leaves him gasping for air. It’s the one thing he hasn’t learnt how to dodge yet.
“Spider?” she asks suddenly. “Why’d you stop?”
“Sorry,” he clears his throat and resumes his job in aiding her to rappel down. “Got distracted.”
“Why? Do you like what you see? Is that what it is?” she purrs, obviously trying to make him tick. He’s not falling for it this time.
“Sure. Indiana Jones could never,” he jokes, and unfortunately it’s true. He might have the style, but he doesn’t have the elegance nor the effortlessness of the Black Cat.  “What do you see?”
“Give me a second. It’s too dark.”
“You can’t be too far off the ground, can you?” It’s just a warehouse. “Can you?” he asks again, but there’s no answer, so he tries once more, “Cat?”
No answer still. Was this part of the plan? Wasn’t he supposed to get confirmation that she’d made it in? Sure, they didn’t talk about that, but isn’t it a normal thing to check on? Now he can’t recall what they’d discussed and his palms are starting to get sweatier and sweatier by the minute.
She told him to wait and keep watch, but he can’t just sit back. He has no business getting so worried, so quickly, but he’s not the most patient person, and he doesn’t like a single one of the hundred different scenarios that are rushing through his mind right now.
So he jumps into the building, with no thought in him but his partner getting hurt or taken or worse. And two seconds later as he lands on a dark hallway, just like she said he would, he triggers some sort of alarm, and the whole building goes on full blast, blaring a high pitched noise, bright red flashing lights and all.
“Shit,” he murmurs under his breath.
Peter doesn’t know what to do except run, instead of back through the skylight, right down the hallway, in search of The Cat. Just when he rounds out the corner, running frantically like a maniac, he slams hard against something, sending him almost straight to the floor.
“Peter?”
“Oh, thank God, you’re okay,” he places his arms on her shoulders to ground himself, relieved once he sees her, safe and sound.
“What did you do?” she asks, annoyed, over the deafening sound of the alarm.
“You weren’t answering! So I came in.”
“Yeah, no shit.” Red light illuminates her face, matching her annoyance. “I was doing my job. You clearly didn’t do yours very well.”
“Uh, excuse me, lady, for worrying about you.”
“Get us out of here, Spider. Out, out,” she taps his shoulders.
They run back down the hallway, to make their way out of the skylight once more, and he’s wrapping his arm around her waist to swing them both out and away when-
A bullet whizzes past them, making them jump.
“Holy fu-”
“You!” Two burly men in suits are sprinting down the corridor towards them, guns pointed, fingers on the trigger and ready to shoot again.
Peter tugs at her hand to get her out of there, but she steps in front of him instead, on the line of fire.
“Watch out! Faulty construction!” she yells out in a mocking tone, and somehow, the whole ceiling panel ahead of them breaks away and tumbles down onto the men, knocking them down and burying them under plaster. “Oops!”
Peter’s eyes widen, weirdly impressed. Those bad luck powers truly are something.
And as soon as he’s about to praise her and her little stunt, a whole group of mobsters round the corner, marching at them with all kinds of weapons ready to fire. They’re way too many to fight on their own, so like real heros do in times of trouble, they make a run for it.
“Hold on tight!” His arm wraps around her waist as her legs wrap around his, and Peter leaps out of the skylight, carrying them both out into the night.
A bullet whizzes by way too close to them, cutting through the air and making his hair stand on end as he shoots out a web to propel them towards the edge of the building. He jumps off the railing, the arm around her tightening its grip, and for a couple of seconds where time stands completely still, they’re free falling, and falling, and falling, until Peter shoots out another web, preventing them from slamming onto the pavement.
He swings them back to his apartment, his mood souring further the closer they get, guilt starting to creep in as the adrenaline washes away. Perching her gently on the window ledge, he allows her to crack it open and let them in easily, too defeated to even try to argue about it.
He rips his mask off as soon as he steps in, throwing it across the room carelessly. “Damn it,” he barks frustratedly, kicking the floor. “I messed it up, didn’t I? I almost got us killed.”
“You did,” she nods her head, adjusting the fur on her collar. “But it was fun. A little run in with the mob is always good. Could’ve gone worse.”
“Fun? They were firing multiple guns at us. That wasn’t fun, that was insane!”
“Spider-”
“That was all my fault! I almost- How could I be so stupid?”
“I can assure you, you can get stupider. it wasn’t that big of a deal,” she tries to cut in again, but Peter keeps on frantically pacing, his breathing getting agitated, his face blotchy.
“I didn’t listen. I should’ve listened to you.”
“Don’t worry about that.”
“Oh my god! I put you in danger! I fucked up and I put you in danger and it was all for nothing-”
“Peter!”
Now, that shuts him right up.
“I swear to God, you better shut up right now.”
But he’s so caught off guard that he wouldn’t be able to speak even if he tried.
Peter.
She has never called him that. Never by his name. Always Spider, sometimes Spidey, other times any weird name that crosses her mind. Never Peter. And he doesn’t understand why he’s so shocked by it, but he guesses it’s because it’s been a while since he’s heard his name coming out of the mouth of a friend.
And the realization is soul-crushing.
He’s too preoccupied with that to process anything else she’s saying or to notice how she’s ruffling through her pockets in search of something.
“Hey!” she snaps her fingers to get his attention. “Who said it was for nothing, huh?” she purrs, a smirk on her face, and in her hand, between her index and thumb, a shiny, silver pendrive, glinting in the dim light, like the final quest reward in some videogame.
He takes it from her and studies it in his hand, fascinated with the little token and even more fascinated by her and her abilities and how she somehow keeps surprising him again and again. “Cat, I could kiss you right now.”
“All in its right time,” she laughs, sitting beside him on the end of his bed, her hand on his shoulder. “I told you I had your back if you had mine, didn’t I? When I found out,” she points at his face. “I meant it. Don’t beat yourself up. We did this together. I know you don’t like me most of the time, but-”
“Don’t say that. I do. Like you. All of the time.”
How could he not? Even back when he thought he hated her, he adored her. Cherished every second they spent together, throwing punches and kicking each other in the shins, throwing witty and snarky comments back and forth like daggers.
Bold and brass, she’d shaken him awake from a deep slumber. Not gently like the warmth of the early morning sun on your closed eyelids would, heating up your chilling bones; but more like the punching shock and the grimace that follows after sucking on a lemon. Or getting kicked in the mouth, those terrible seconds when you notice that rusty taste on your tongue and you check in fear if you’ve still got all of your teeth.
That's how she makes him feel, which is not a pretty picture, but somehow explains it perfectly.
“That’s very sweet of you, lover,” she says with a fond smile. “I like you too, even when you’re scolding me for being a master at my craft and looking good while doing it.”
“Ha-ha,” he fake-laughs despondently. His hand finds hers on her knee, and he interlocks their fingers, squeezing reassuringly. “Is that really what you think? That I don’t like you?”
“Not really. I’ve seen your cheeks turn bright red enough times to know it’s not exactly anger. But…”
“What is it?”
“I dunno. I feel like there is a side of me you can’t get behind, and that really bothers me,” she says honestly, in a tone he’s not used to hearing from her. “This is not a game to me. You know that, right? I know I say I’m having fun all the time, but really, I do have my reasons for doing this. I’d much rather be in college, like you are.”
The breaking and entering, the robberies, the fights, the getting acquainted with the wrong people. Of course he knows there’s a reason behind all of it. She’s young and on her own. He doesn’t know what brought her to this point, but he understood from the beginning that she’s just looking out for herself.
“I’m sorry,” he says. “If I ever made you feel bad about that. I know you’re just doing what you need to do. We all are.” They just have different ways to it. But he can’t judge her for that.
“It’s okay,” and her smile is back. Sunny and undefeated. “You couldn’t bring me down if you tried. I’ll beat your ass.”
“Oh, I’m sure,” he laughs with her, and it flows easy and free, his chest feeling lighter, his hand still on hers.
But then the laughter dies down, and the silence settles in, and they stare at each other with nothing to say for once. They’re sitting way too close together. The faint fragrance of her perfume–something sweet and floral he hasn't had the chance to indulge in until nowfills up his nostrils, making his head spin.
Tentatively, he reaches up, his gloved hand meeting the side of her face, and he expects her to pull away, make some comment about him keeping his hands to himself. But surprisingly, she gets even closer, nuzzles into his touch, and he’s suddenly wishing he wasn’t wearing his suit, just to feel her warm cheek under his fingers.
“Can I?” he simply whispers.
Their eyes meet, and she nods coyly, giving him the green light to move forward. His fingers clasp around her goggles, perfectly fitted to her face, and he pulls them off, slowly.
She once said she wore them only for theatrics, not to actually hide who she was, because she was too pretty for that, and besides, no one would ever catch her. Peter wasn't too sure about that, but he agreed on the former.
He’s never seen her without them, and even if they don’t do much in covering her face, it feels weirdly intimate. Like some sort of metaphorical mask; a veil that’s being lifted to reveal truths, ones that he suspects have been ready to be uttered for a while now.
And it’s like he’s seeing her for the first time all over again.
He remembers the shock, the awe, the intrigue. It still feels fresh in his mind, imprinted there, the way it does when someone makes one hell of a first impression. He recalls every single move she’d made during that first fight, every punch she’d thrown, every kick he’d received.
And yet, all of it dissolves into nothing but feelings and sensations, faint memories, because the girl in front of him–the girl he’s seeing–is not The Black Cat, infamous master burglar. He’s seeing her, just the girl, more akin to him than he’ll ever know.
The girl, who fills his nights with giggles and joy, amidst the blood and the bruises and the darkness.
Sure, she enjoys teasing him, toying with him, pressing all the wrong and right buttons. Her presence is intoxicating in all senses of the word. Most of the time, he finds her extremely annoying, especially when she goes a little rogue, but he wouldn’t trade her company for anything. She fills up all the empty spaces in his life left by the people who are gone, and the ones that no longer know him. But she does–know him. He’s gotten the chance to start over, with her, a blank slate.
He’s afraid he’s given her too much of an in into his life, and having someone know about his identity again is terrifying, it strangely feels like he’s doing it all over again. He just hopes history doesn’t repeat itself, and although he’s learned to not take anything for certain, the one thing he knows is that he wants her here, by his side. He wants her.
He can pinpoint that feeling now, clear as day. It’s that very last second playing roulette, when you see it’s about to land on red after you’ve bet all of your money on it.
He might have just gotten lucky.
Before he knows it, he’s leaning in, and after a beat of a heart, his lips are on hers.
She doesn’t pull away, just leans into it, letting him take the reins of the kiss, his hand cupping her cheek, her hand wrapping around his wrist. She presses on a little closer, her other hand falling onto his thigh that’s brushing against hers on the bed, tainting the kiss with a fervor unfamiliar to him. He welcomes it gladly, allowing her to climb onto his lap, his hands coming to rest on her waist, pressing her body against his as she lays him on his bed.
Her kiss is tender, and strangely sweet considering she’s sitting on top of him, but not gentle–more so, demanding. He’s tempted to move his hands on her waist a little lower, explore every inch of that damned leather suit, but he doesn’t dare move them, just keeps kissing her. It’s only when her hands start snaking down his body and her lips move down his jaw and neck to plant open-mouthed kisses there that he snaps out of it
“Wait, wait,” he pulls away, holding her face in his hands. He can’t believe he’s saying no to a girl already in his bed–even if it’s the stuff of his wildest fantasies and a younger version of him would smack him on the back of his neck–but he wants to do this the right way. He owes her that. “I really like you.”
“I can tell,” she assures him with half a smirk, her eyes drifting down between their bodies.
But he doesn’t blush this time, not even under her scorching gaze. “And I really, really want to keep kissing you.”
“Okay,”
“But I really, really care about you, so let’s not jinx it?”
“You really just don’t like fun, huh?” she sighs.
He laughs, sitting up to rest his forehead against hers, his nose gently grazing hers, his hands flat on her back. “I wanna be with you, Cat,” he whispers.
She just studies him silently, pondering his words, her mind surely working through a hundred different scenarios and outcomes. “You’re too good for me, Peter.”
By the way she’s looking at him, he can almost hear her next words in the silence. I’m not a hero. I’m not some broken toy you can fix. I’m a thief, proudly so. And I’ll always be one. You can’t change that.
And that’s the thing: he doesn't want her to change. He’ll take the good with the bad, the shiny and the rusted. He likes her as she is. Even if she does not understand boundaries, even if she’ll go to the ends of the world just to see him blush at one of her dirty comments.
Most of the time, she represents everything he’s trying to fight, but it’s like every single time he thinks he can’t see past it, she surprises him with some small, little confession in the midst of some casual conversation that hits too close to home. He can’t help but feel like there is more to her. There is something hidden under the leather and the pout and the pretty face and the witty, flirty comebacks, and he’s more than willing to uncover it all, if she’ll let him.
“What if it doesn’t work?” she asks, their bodies still tangled together on his bed. “What if it ends up horribly and I’m just someone else you have to lose?”
Peter places the softest of kisses on her forehead.
She looks so sad, and he gets it; he really does after losing everybody. This lifestyle is not easy, and it’s hard to let people in. Fear eats away at you slowly, until you’re left with nothing, all jagged and sharp edges, with a “Danger. Do not touch.” sign printed on your chest.
But it’s been a year already, a very long year, and he’s already gotten a taste of what a second chance might look like. If he thinks back on everyone who has ever loved him, he knows he can’t let her go. He wants to try his luck.
After all, she came in right when he needed her the most, and if that’s not good luck, he doesn't know what is. It’s a lonely life, the one they’ve chosen, but it’s theirs, and they have each other now. She’s got his back, and he’s got hers.
“I’ll always be there to catch you, remember?”
Both her hands come up to his face, and a second later, she’s kissing him again, with the same passion from that first kiss, but still gently, confirming everything Peter needed to know. That she might be the one–the one who sticks around, who understands him.
She pulls away, with a smile threatening to break free on her face, and whispers against his lips, “You’ll have to let me go about my business, though. You know that.”
His whole face lights up wtih a silly, shit-eating grin. “Don’t I already do that?”
“Alright,” she hums in agreement, tilting her head like a kitten with glossy eyes. “Can we keep kissing now, or…?”
“Yes.”

Hidden In Plain Sight
Tumblr media
Warnings: Cursing, Violence, Guns, Angst-ish?, Fluff, Smut (Later Chapters), Possible bad writing? Def not proofread.
Pairing: Mob!Tom Holland x Detective!Reader
Summary: The Hollands have built their empire for years and now a young detective wants to take them down. In a world where Tom figured it would be kill or be killed, He’ll soon find that maybe, just maybe...She can be convinced.
Y/N: Your Name  Y/L/N: Your Last Name
The sound of your gun clinking in its holster echoed throughout the room as your eyes scanned for any clues they could find. “Man, are we sure this is the right place? I mean... I trust your judgement y/l/n but...this place looks like it’s been abandoned for a while.” Hugh furrowed his brows shining his flashlight while gesturing to the ragged furniture and family photos seeming to be left behind. “That’s what they want us to think Greene.” You sighed giving your partner a glance before shining your light in another direction. “Called the landlord. This place was owned by a Mrs. Gertrude Lightwood.” you couldn’t help the concerned look on your face. “Sure, most of this is hers...but she’s been in a nursing home for years. Do you honestly think this is her mess?” you kicked a few old beer bottles around for emphasis. Hugh’s head dropped shaking a little, “No...No I suppose not...” His British accent thick with the same concern shown on your own face.
“You think it’s them?” Hugh leaned against the kitchen countertop, asking a question he knew the answer to.
“I know it is.”
You’d only been a detective for a short amount of time, but you’d surely proven yourself with a knack for research. At the ripe age of 20, you’d solved your first case just about all on your own. The department paired you up with Hugh since the beginning of your career, now the slightly portly old man seemed like the only family you had since moving to London. The current case? Thought to be a band of misfit teens, turned out to be a link to one of the largest mafia’s London has to offer. The Hollands, their power is deep seeded in SouthWest London. No one dared to touch a part of their case, that is until now. Hugh figured you’d gone mad when you offered to take them head on, but he’d help none the less.
“Well...Let’s get going before the sun comes up. No telling if or when they’ll come back.” The white haired man clapped a large hand upon your shoulder. “I could go for Greggs right about now.” He smiled wide making you smile in return. The two of you walked out of the old townhouse and heading into the car. “I think they know we’re onto them.” you stated while bucking up. Hugh nodded “Probably. You don’t keep up with something like this for so long if you aren’t good at hiding it. No one even knows what these people look like, only guesses.” He pointed out and took off towards their favorite breakfast place. “Hey..That’s not bad..” you smirked jotting down something on your little notepad using a cute pen with a duck at the top Hugh had gotten you a year ago. “What?” Hugh’s eyes darted over confused “Oh don’t start with this shi-”
“I’m just saying!” you laughed, pleased with his reaction. “What if they’re not hidden...or better yet.” you winked. “Hidden in plain sight?”
“You’re due for the looney bin any day now y/n!” Hugh laughed parking in front of Greggs, you only chuckled and shrugged back. The little breakfast shop was full, but it is eight am on a Wednesday morning. your detective side was still in high gear, making sure to memorize every face you could since the stake out house hadn’t been very far away. Over at a table buried away in a corner sat a group of young men. A tall blonde with striking blue eyes, a shorter curly red head and a grumpy looking brunette. What a group. Hugh Ordered for you both, opting to chat with the cook rather than join your speculation. you took a seat at a table not too far but not too close to the group of men, scrolling through your phone to seem as though you were minding her business. That is until you locked eyes with a chestnut brown pair.
“Psst!” a sharp kick to the shin pulled Tom from fiddling with the many golden rings adorning his fingers. “Ow! That hurt asshole.” Tom hissed reaching down to rub where Harry had abused him. “Cops.” Haz stated quietly as to not draw attention their way, which was always a difficult feat seeing that Tom ultimately looked like a mob boss. “We’re fine, just keep your cool. Try not to be an idiot and they’ll move along.” Tom hummed clasping his hands together so he could rest his chin atop his bruised knuckles. His eyes found you sat at a table playing on your phone, He couldn’t quite tell your age but, he knew you were young, around his age maybe? He didn’t recognize you though. Tom couldn’t help but swoon at the way your hair framed your tired face perfectly, eyes holding a bit of dark color beneath them. He must’ve been staring too long, seeing that your eyes flicked up just in time to meet his own. Boy was Tom enthralled, but the interaction was short lived as his brother and best friend tugged him out of the shop.
“What was that about?” Hugh muffled out through a bite of his breakfast sandwich. “I....I don’t know..” you for once felt stuck so, you opted to eat your breakfast instead of talking. “Those boys sure did look flashy.” Hugh pointed over towards the table the group had previously been sat. You nodded giving a content hum “Maybe, but we can’t just jump to conclusions. Maybe they’re just rich.” Hugh snorted a little at your sudden halt on the whole ‘It could be anyone’ idea. “Why don’t we rest up, you give me a call if you catch anything new and I’ll do the same? Sound good?” He slapped his cap back atop his head crumpling up a food wrapper. “Good to me.” you confirmed standing up from your seat to say goodbye to Hugh before walking the short distance back to your apartment.
 ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
The day had gone by and shifted London into darkness, but lights and music still boomed on for the drinkers, dancers, and all of the above to enjoy. Tom would be one of them if he wasn’t getting his ass chewed out. “You mean to tell me after being told police were on their way to your hideout, you chose to go eat breakfast in the middle of fucking town?!” Dom yelled down at the three boys. “Yeah well we were hungr- I’m sorry.” Harry’s head hung in shame, Haz stood tall and calm whilst Tom’s face begin to turn red. “You’re the one who can’t handle his own fucking dirty work! It’s your guy we’re after, why didn’t you go and sit in an old run down house that smelled like mothballs for hours to watch some guy’s house? Oh RIGHT because you’re the boss of course!” He laughed deep in his chest. The rest of the family backed away but kept watching, Dom and Tom are like dynamite together it just takes one to be the match that strikes the others fuse.
“Correct! I am the boss, so you will listen to me or you’ll suffer just the same as that man will when I get my hands on him.” Dom growled, gripping Tom by his white button up. “I can’t believe you’re the one I’m passing this shit down to..” He puffed letting Tom go due to Nikki’s pleas. Tom’s courage faltered at his father’s insult, it felt like a low blow. “Yeah...Whatever..” He huffed back fixing his jacket. Dom lit a cigar sitting next to his wife waiting for the explosion. “Now Tom, why don’t you take off your shoes and have a seat. You know your father didn’t mean that- He just gets that way.” She smiled patting the couch. Tom felt a heavy, sickly, almost guilty heat rise to his chest. He’d have to deal with that feeling the only way he knew how, to cover it up with something else. “You know what. I’m sick of being treated second hand by him, I’m sure everyone else does too!“ He seethed beginning to push insults towards Dom. Rage was like an illness to Tom, so easy to fall back to. Before Dom could shout anything back Tom grabbed the nearest lamp and tossed it against the wall with a loud crash. “I’m- I’M FUCKING GETTING OUT OF HERE, FUCK THIS HOUSE, AND FUCK YOU DOM” Tom shouted. He didn’t hear footsteps following him, so he didn’t look back.
The thumping of his heart in his ears had been replaced by music with thick bass. Making his way into his family’s bar Tom found a table with ease. “Woahhhh...Rough night?” Skips, the main bar tender around the places laughed only to shut down the second he met Tom’s killer gaze. “I’ll just...Leave this here.” Skips practically yelped setting down a bottle of whiskey while he ran off to get a glass and ice. Tom popped the top off the bottle of expensive whiskey downing a few chugs before slamming it down on the table again. His outburst was starting to become hard not to notice but if you wanted to keep your eyes, you’d act like you didn’t even if you did.
That is unless that someone is you. You’d found your way into the bar confident there would be evidence of anything from the Holland in there, it is their side of town after all. Deciding to blend in a bit and to purely have some fun you joined in on the dance floor scooting through the crowd trying to get to the bar. Suddenly a large man in a suit stood before you. “Uh..excuse me if I could just slip-” “My friend asked for you at his table.” The large man oddly enough was the sweetest person you’d met all night. “Uhm..” You turned your head in the direction the man pointed in and froze. The guy from Greggs this morning. “Thank you!” you smiled calmly, making your way over to the brunette. Your eyes couldn’t help but drop as he leaned forward and unbuttoned his shirt enough to expose his toned chest while sending you a smirk.
“Hello Darling! I thought I recognized you~” Tom teased, obviously a bit buzzed from chugging whiskey. “Yeah, breakfast this morning..um. I didn’t catch your name however-” “Tom.” He spoke immediately taking two glasses pouring whiskey for them both and slid a coke your way. “Nice to meet you Tom, I’m not much of a drinker.” You cleared your throat a little. “Well for tonight, maybe you should?” He nodded pushing your glass closer towards you. Why the hell not? “Okay, Tom. What exactly..” “Your name Darling.” He smiled sipping at his own drink. “Y/n.” You swirled your cup around a little before drinking half of it to ease your nerves. Why was this guy messing with your nerves? “Pretty~” Tom’s voice deepened and his eyes darked while raking over your figure. You’d chosen a tight red dress that showed just enough cleavage for most, but not enough for Tom
Tom watched as you finished your first drink and drank a little coke while he poured you both another. Thirty minutes became an hour, an hour became two and before you knew it you and Tom were on the dancefloor together. His firm hands gripped tightly at your hips keeping you close in the dancing crowd as the two of you grinded together. “You’re fun!” You drunkenly laughed wrapping your arms around Tom’s neck. “That’s what I like to hear Darling!” He grinned dipping his head down so his nose brushed yours. Your mouth fell open slightly and everything seemed to slow down. What were you doing. “There is of course...” Tom slid a hand up your body grabbing your chin with his thumb and index finger, the cooling effect of his rings against your warm skin made you shiver. “Something else I’d love to hear you say as well.” He tisked leading you towards the back of the bar. “And what’s that?” You raise a brow, tilting your head making Tom pull his bottom lip between his teeth. The next thing you knew you were in a private area and Tom pulled two red curtains shut before turning back to face you. “Daddy.”

Spiderman: No Way Home
>Spoilers!<
- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -
A place like home.
Pairing: Peter Parker x Male Reader
Summary: Peter reenconters with someone he loved profoundly, celebrating Christmas with hugs and words.
[NOTE: This is my first time writting fanfiction and posting about it. Who knows if i will turn this into something bigger, but i just enjoy living the fantasies in which i know i will never achieve...ik im sad]
- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -
Tumblr media
After the incident in the new modernized Statue of Liberty, Peter lost everyone he loved. A sacrifice had to be made to save the multiverse from collapsing into chaos. Everyone he cherished, forgot about him.
But there was someone very important in his life who did remember him.
He contemplated about the good times he had with this friend, well they were dating but for Peter it felt like they weren't anymore. His name kept ringing in his mind and he just couldn't shut those thoughts away. He missed him dearly.
Knock knock
The sound of knocking on wood, although usual, it felt different. It felt diferent for Peter. But by the sound of it, it just might be the landlord.
-What is it!? I said i would pay you tom-
For a moment, he thought he was dreaming. Another ilusion of some kind, and he was skeptic of it, with his mind overly saturated with paranoia and regret. It couldn't be possible... and above all so coincidental. Y/N was standing in front of Peter, worried and desperate.
-Hello Peter!
Peter only stood there, reminiscing over their most memorable episodes and their break up before the first battle with Thanos (2018). He knows what happen between them was quite intense and over all fixated on their own worries but even then he never doubted or disrespected his ex.
Y/N smirks before entering the apartment. After closing the door, the H/C boy demands gently for Peter to sit.
Peter was a little weirded out but sat down, and so did his ex.
-You have changed Peter, what happen?
Peter felt Y/N's hand caressing his face, and this was certainly becoming overwhelming for him but he didn't refuse the touch. He let himself succumb to the other boy's warmth, letting his eyes look down and sob. Those same tears, held so much suffering, suffering that Y/N wouldn't bare to look at.
-Oh peter, come here.
Y/N quickly engulfed his ex in his arms sharing his warmth with the spider boy. Peter knew that this level of affection might be uncanny or bizarre, considering what has happen in the past, but it felt good receiving this embrace from someone that he knew would always love him.
-You might be wondering why do i still remember you...To make long story short, before that last spell, I protected myself with my own incantation that Wong teached me. So i would never forget you. At that time i was at the Sanctum.
Peter was relieved and grateful for this.
-I just couldn't bare to see you living alone, with no one to remember. I know that we might not even be in the best terms, but i look up to you. I admire you Parker. Quite a lot.
Y/N felt Peter hugging him once again, relishing in that warming presence of his ex-lover.
-I'm happy you are here. I missed you.
Peter held Y/N's cheeks and they stayed like that for awhile. Peter just came from this mess, and Y/N had lost connection with former Avengers and other familiar faces. Plus the feelings for Peter were always there to tickled him in the worst times.
After they calmed down from sobbing uncontrollably, the boys were laying down in the bed, next to eachother with Y/N embracing Peter from behind. They missed this, and even if Peter had strong feelings for MJ, this intense warmth of Y/N was fundamental for him.
Y/N then looked at Peter and his glazy eyes.
-If i could, i would turn things back to how they were. And if i had the chance i would have killed that Mysterio guy from revealing something so important to you. I'm so sorry.
Peter smirks, understanding this frustration.
After rubbing circles on Peter's scalp, the spiderling engulfed his ex in a tight hug, thanking him for everything.
-Even if we don't become a thing, i want you by my side. I think loosing you again would be a big mistake.
Y/N tears up a little and nods.
-Don't worry, i will. Whenever you are with me, you will feel at home.
Suddenly, as the snow fell in the window, Y/N remembered something. Peter sensed this slight anxiety and got worried. Moments after, Y/N conjures up a small gift from his hands that he had prepared for Peter.
Peter was suprised and excited, feeling slightly better then before.
-This is for you, might not be much, but i saw it and reminded me of you...Happy Christmas, Pete.
Y/N sat behind the spider boy, gently putting his hands on Peter's hips, waiting for his response.
Peter was in awe, it was a snow globe that had a spiderman inside, fully decorated with Christmas ornaments. It was small but profound present. This was a moment of choice. Peter finally looks at Y/N, and quickly kisses him in the forehead.
Making both boys blush tremendously, appreciating eachother's presence. Y/N, lays his head on Peter's shoulder, making both boys appreciate their Christmas together.
With a bright new future and a new life to begin with.

Only Love Can Hurt Like This
Pairing: Isaiah Jesus x Shelby Reader
Requested by: @beth-winchester21 ‘Where I'm the youngest and I fancy isiah and my boyfriend breaks up with me so I go and get drunk and esme snitches on me to the boys and isiah they come look after me and I confess to isiah I'm in love with him and we get together thanks xx’
Note: I feel like this song describes the mood of this perfectly!
Warnings: breakup, alcohol, swearing, protective older brothers
Tumblr media
“Fine! Fuck off then!” You yelled, begging your tears to not fall. Your now ex boyfriend walked away from you.
“Stupid little slut! At least Fran lets me fuck her. And I won’t have to even worry about your idiot fucking brothers. Good riddance, Shelby whore!”
***
The landlord at the Rusty Anchor knew better than to cut you off. The pub may not be Peaky territory, but you were still in Small Heath and you were still a Shelby, albeit barely old enough to drink.
“Come on, Miss,” the bartender said gently, sliding you one last (slightly watered down) drink. “Time to go home, especially now the lads are coming in. Don’t want them causing you any trouble. You gonna be alright getting home,”
You nodded and stumbled home, taking a detour and winding up in the warehouse that had been turned into a boxing ring. In your drunkenness, you didn’t recognise the late hour, expecting Isaiah to be here, the thought of the slightly older blinder comforting. Over the years you had harboured somewhat of a crush for him, but knew your brothers would never allow it. But right now, as tears streamed down your cheeks and you drew your knees to your chest, you hoped he would come, as he was there so often.
***
“John, you better get down the Anchor,” Esme said quietly to her husband as she walked into the Watery Lane dining room.
“Eh? Why?” He asked, looking up from his card game with his brothers. “Anchor’s not one of our pubs, love. It’s the Ruby Track that’s one of ours,”
“I know that. But... well I nipped in to fetch my cousin for my Auntie and... YN was at the bar. She looked rotten,”
“What’s our YN doing down the Anchor, eh?” Arthur said, laughing slightly. Tommy and John didn’t seem to find it funny.
“You’re right, Arthur. What’s our YN doing there when she could get drunk in the Garrison, eh? Anyway, I thought she was seeing that butcher’s boy. The Peters kid,”
Finn piped up. “She still seeing him? I saw him snogging the postie’s girl this afternoon,”
Everyone was quiet for a moment before Arthur stood up. “I’ll bloody kill him, the little fucker. I told him, Tom, if he hurts our YN I’ll cut him a smile,”
Tommy sighed. “You can cut him a smile once we’ve found YN, brother. John go to the Anchor and see if anyone’s seen her around. Arthur, you can come with me. Finn... get to Charlie’s yard. Check the stables. She goes there when she’s upset,”
The brothers set off while Esme sighed, sitting herself at the table, waiting for Polly to get back from the chemist.
***
“Oi, Finn, where’re you off?”
Finn skidded to a halt, turning as he saw his best friend. “‘Siah, have you seen YN? She’s drunk and wandered off somewhere. Think that lad she was seeing cheated on her,”
Isaiah frowned. He had always cared for you, even if you were barely a year younger than Finn. “Havent seen her, no. Where’re you lookin’” he asked, falling into step with Finn.
“John’s gone to the Rusty Anchor, Arthur and Tommy are patrolling the streets and I’m meant to be going to the yard,”
Isaiah nodded. “I’ll... start looking too. I think my dad’s out preaching tonight, I’ll tell him to keep an eye out,”
The boys nodded to one another as they ran off in opposite directions.
***
Isaiah almost walked past the warehouse when he heard a bang and a sharp gasp of pain. Curious, he pushed the door open, holding his bladed cap at the ready.
As he rounded the door, he saw you cradling your hand as you sat on the edge of the ring, face blotchy with tears.
“YN, that you?” He asked. “It’s Isaiah,”
“I know,” you said quietly, voice still a little slurred.
He walked over to you slowly, stuffing his cap away before sitting next to you, about two feet away. “What’s up?” He asked you gently. You sighed, shuffling a little closer to show him your quickly bruising hand.
“Punched the wall. Hurt,” you shrugged. “And he’s a bastard, you know that lad I was seeing. Kept wanting me to do stuff with him... didn’t want to so he cheated on me and then got shot of me. Then I went to the Anchor because the garrison don’t serve me when I’m pissed unless one of the boys are there. And I got cold on my way home and I wanted to see you so I came here instead,”
As you rambled, isaiah smiled softly. “I’m sure Tommy will see to that lad,” he said gently and you nodded. “And your aunt Pol will see to that hand,” you nodded and sighed, resting your head on his shoulder. He stiffened slightly before relaxing, putting his arm around your shoulder. You smiled sleepily.
“This is nice,” you said. “I’ve fancied you since I was fourteen and you were sixteen, you know,” Isaiah gulped, thinking it was just your drunkenness talking. “I’m not saying it because I’m drunk. Well I am. But it’s true. Promise,”
“Tell you what, YN, if you remember this when you’re sober, we’ll talk about it, okay?” He said quietly, brushing his lips over your forehead gently. You nodded, nuzzling closer.
“I wanna go home, ‘Siah,” you mumbled and he nodded, helping you up.
“C’mon, put this on,” he said gently, draping his black cloak over you. You smiled sleepily, pulling it closer to your body and inhaling the smell of his aftershave.
Sensing your sleepiness, he slung your arm around his waist, his around your shoulders as he guided you to walk home. As he walked you down Watery Lane, Tommy, Arthur and John came the opposite way.
“S’alright, I found her in the warehouse,” Isaiah called as John ran over to you, taking your other side and helping you walk.
“I’m drunk, John,” you giggled softly, eyes already slipping shut. “Don’t tell Tommy,”
Arthur took over from Isaiah to help you upstairs, where Polly and Esme helped you into your pyjamas and then to bed. As the men came back downstairs, they stared hard at Isaiah.
“Where was she?” Tommy asked.
“Warehouse, the boxing rings. Said she was making her way home and she got cold,” Isaiah said, omitting the part about your waiting for him.
“What about the butcher’s boy. She say anything about him?” John asked.
“Said he cheated on her and got shot of her because she wouldn’t let him... you know... sleep with her,” Your brothers briefly looked away, feeling a little out of depth when it came to your romantic relationships and sex life (they’d left that up to Ada and Polly). “He hasn’t hurt her,” Isaiah said quickly. “At least not physically. She’s upset. And she might’ve broken a finger or two,”
“So she got a good punch in then?” Arthur said proudly, quickly shutting up when tommy glared at him.
“Er... she punched the wall. Pretty hard by the looks of it,”
It was quiet for a moment before tommy cleared his throat. “Thank you, Isaiah. For bringing her home safe and looking after her,”
Isaiah nodded before rubbing the back of his neck. “I’d do anything for her,”
John let out a laugh. “Alright, mate. One step at a time, yeah? She may have been giving you the look for the last four years, but she’s still our baby sister,”

TRIPLE TROUBLE
Pairing- Tom Holland(x3) x Reader
Tumblr media
Warnings- Language, extreme smut (I think most of it is just smut 😅), extreme cuteness.
Summary- Who knew moving into a new apartment would be so much fun if you have triplets as your neighbors. How much trouble can Peter, Tom and Arvin cause? only a lot...
MASTERLIST | REQUESTS OPEN |
PART 2
______________________________🤍_____________________________
There you were standing below a building in front of the entrance with the truck that carried your stuff on your left and surrounded by utter commotion. Why were you here again? Oh yes, you had to move out of your apartment because your godforsaken landlord, well ex-godforsaken landlord had to hike up the rent. You couldn't pay that much of an amount just for your rent to live in that matchbox of a place. Of course it had a nice view, office was closer but the world had to adjust and so did you.
"Miss we are done unloading!" grunted the man. You flinched because of his tone but then you realize you had to pay the man. After fetching a couple of bucks and paying the man, you started your journey to the fifth floor because the lift decided to sleep that day, the very day you had to move and who were your travel buddies? fourteen cartons. Why did you have so much luggage in the first place? you could literally contemplate your life's decision in the time you would have to waste carrying each one them, one by one to your apartment. "Fuck man!" you cursed as you kicked an imaginary rock to let out a bit of your frustration.
Where was your boyfriend when you needed him? oh how could you forget! He cheated on you. There you have it, your life. You stopped thinking as you picked one of your box, just then you heard a voice, "Do you need help?" that angel asked you and you would have cried. you looked at him and you were mesmerized with his curls and a jawline that could cut paper.
"Is it that evident?" you asked and he chuckled. "Are you new here?" he asked picking up one of the boxes. "Yes, my name is Y/N I moving in to 503" you informed as you picked one yourself. He looked at you wide eyed with ripples on his forehead. "Oh so you are the new neighbor. Hello there my name is Peter. W- I live in 502" he smiled as you both entered the building. The work got done easily with someone helping you out. The view from here was not that great, all you could see was your neighbor's balcony. Peter joked that this way you could meet each other every day.
Oh wasn't that guy an absolute sweetheart. If he had a little bit of attitude he would totally be your type. He left after wishing you a good night and flashing that beautiful smile of his, damn you could melt. After moving so many boxes and climbing up and down the stairs, tiredness captured you. You changed into your pajamas and finished the pizza that you had earlier ordered and slept on the couch. Tomorrow was going to be a long day, after all those boxes had to be unboxed.
You woke up to someone's washing machine's sound. You were pretty sure that washing machine was trying to run away because of low maintenance. You tried not to stumble over you unpacked luggage as you walked down your hallway tying your hair up in a bun.
Your scrunchie that was tugged onto teeth as you were getting your disheveled hair together fell to the ground. There was a girl sitting on top of the washing machine, naked and the guy was busy eating her out. You sprinted into your room as you saw the scene unfold in front of your eyes. You could feel your panties dampening because of her moans that were getting louder by the second. Luckily they took their show inside and you could finally breathe. Well, you didn't expect the view to be like that. Your neighbor with someone. Wait a minute, your neighbor, Peter?
"Wow" was all you could say before brushing your teeth and taking a bath. You never felt so ridiculously single before as you felt now. "fuck my life" was the mantra you kept chanting as you put on your shirt. "Idiot" you grunted as you realized that all your pants were packed and there was nothing you could put on below your shirt. Maybe except for the pencil skirt that somehow managed to escape and you had put it in your handbag as you found it at the last moment.
"Ah yes" you said grabbing the file which you were supposed to hand in today. You locked your door, double checked it and pressed the lift button.
As you were waiting for the lift, you heard Peter's door click open and the girl you saw today morning, yes the one sitting naked on the washing machine, made her way out. Her stumbling feet and incapability to even walk straight summarized her night. "Didn't she have a good time?" you thought to yourself and chuckled as she dared to take the stairs. Who takes the stairs when you have a perfectly fine lift?
"Good morning?" a very heavy voice said behind you. You turned behind to take a better look at him. "Good morning uh..Peter" you said obviously uncomfortable because he still smelt like sex.
"Oh yes me, Peter" he said laughing hysterically. You gulped as you stepped away from him. Sure you wanted him to have attitude but this is not what you expected. His cute little eyes were all hooded and spoke a different language today. As if you met someone else yesterday.
"Are you going up or down?" you asked in effort to change the topic as he walked closer towards you. "Going down kitten" he panted and smirked sheepishly. You could feel his breath as his hands checked you out. He smiled and started to walk away. He looked at you one last time before he locked his door. "Oh God" was all you could say as you clutched your shirt together. You would lie if you didn't feel aroused. Of course he was weird, hell, he was kind of a boy all mothers tell their daughters to be aware off. But this guy had a lot of surprises and were you gonna figure all of them out? Fuck yeah.
After handing over your file to your senior, you took the rest of the day off. On your way back to your apartment, you spotted a café. It was rustic and elegant and beautiful paintings hung on the wall. You stepped up to the cashier to place your order.
"Hi how may I help you?" gleamed the guy. Your smile disappeared when you looked at him. "Peter?" you questioned in confusion. "Peter?" he questioned back. "Uh we met today morning. Don't you remember? You helped me with the boxes too?" you explained. "Are you Y/N?" he asked hopefully.
"Yes" you replied in confusion. "Hi my name is T- Peter." he introduced himself. "yeah I know" you smiled embarrassingly. He noticed your expression and took a deep breath. "Miss Y/N why don't you have a seat? I think we need to talk." he spoke as if in an attempt to not mess things up.
You decided to sit down and talk to him. And you did. You realized he owned this café and a couple more around the city. His gentlemanly behavior was like a spell that enticed you. You could listen to him for hours. His honey glistened tone played their tricks on you.
"Why don't you come over for drinks tomorrow? We can spend a bit more time together" he suggested in a calm tone as he walked you towards your apartment. "Sure. Does 7 sound good?" you asked as you looked for your keys. "Perfect actually, we all will be home by then." "Great, I will see you tomorrow then" you said as you locked the door. What a strange guy? If someone would come and tell you that you saw three different versions of the same guy, you wouldn't be surprised.
You stood in pale pink dress that rested your hips and covered you till your mid thigs, that you hunted from your closet. You had spent the entire day unboxing and setting up your apartment. It was almost 7 and you were a bit tired but you would throw your away for the little get together you had with Peter.
Now standing outside their door clutching to the scented candle, you rang their bell. He opened the door and gestured you to come in. "In here" he said pointing towards a room that was co-joined with the balcony. As you were walking towards that room, you saw a photo frame. Your heart dropped. "Fucking triplets?" you murmured. "Hey kitten" "Hi Y/N" two voices spoke. You flinched at the sudden sound and they stood right behind you.
"Why didn't you tell me earlier?" you blurted out your question. You were no longer worried if you sounded rude. "All this time I thought I--you were lying to me?" you asked. "Y/N please listen" Peter spoke, the cute little one you had met for the first time.
You sat down, when they all started explaining themselves. First the other two introduced themselves. The guy near the lift was Arvin and the guy you had met at the café was Tom. Peter told you that he was the one who had started all this confusion because he fell for you at the first sight. He knew Erwin and Tom would like you too and how right he was.
"Peter couldn't control his excitement when he told us about you." Tom said caressing Peter's hair. All the anger somehow melted and turned into a genuine smile. Peter blushed when he saw you smiling, the same smile he fell in love with, they all did.
"Look I had a break up recently. He cheated on me and I might have a tough time adjusting to have another person in my life so soon and three of you together would be overwhelming so can we take it slow? like get to know each other first." you suggested to which Arvin sat down next to you.
"Take all the time you need kitten, we will be right here" he said as he stroked your hair. Soon he was joined by Tom, "1 month, spend one month with us and if its too much for you we will respect your decision." he said as he squatted down to your level. "Okay" you said after thinking about it for five minutes. Peter, baby walked to you and rested his head on shoulder as he sat next to you. Giggles filled the room as Tom cracked his bad jokes. Oh dear the three of them were walking trouble, triple trouble.
Now that you knew about their little secret, they took turns in spending time with you. Everyday Tom would drop you to your office and Arvin would pick you up. Peter would spend the weekends with you. Sometimes all the four of you went on a drive together. Peter would hold on to you as he clutched you from behind when you sat on the passenger seat.
1 month passed away like a jiffy taking away all the confusion and panic you had about being in a polyamories relationship and were you whipped for them. Of course you were.
It was a Sunday, exactly 1 month later, here you were sitting on the couch with all three of them. "So what do you think?" Tom asked you as he pulled you closer. "Do like us now?" Peter asked you with his puppy eyes. "I have always liked you but" you smiled as you continued, "I love you, all the three of you." you smiled with how fast Peter started crying after you finished. Arvin came close to you as he caressed your cheek.
Tom pulled you in for a kiss. His tender lips felt so soft on yours. You moaned into the kiss and he could easily slip his tongue in your mouth. Arvin dragged his lips on your neck, marking you as his, their's. Never breaking the kiss Tom dragged the zip of your dress exposing your black lace. "So pretty" Arvin moaned as he took notice of your exposed self.
You broke the kiss as your eyes landed on Peter. Tom and Arvin sensed you pulling away and looked at each other. "Peter is it too much for you? if you don't want-" "No" Peter's sudden confession stopped you midway.
"I want this, I do want you but I have never done it before." Peter confessed embarrassingly. You smiled as you pulled him close to you. "It's okay I will take care of you, don't you worry." As you pulled his pant's zip down exposing the dent that he was trying hide, Tom chuckled. Peter whimpered when you fetched his member out the confines and licked off the leaking precum. Tom slid your bra away and Arvin had his hands exploring your womanhood.
You licked a wide strip, leaving Peter withering above you. He clutched your hair when you suddenly made eye contact with him and pushed you down on his cock. His cock was girthy and long with made arousal drip from your pussy. Arvin was quick to spread your arousal, lubricating you. Tom had one of your nipple in his mouth as he lay below you.
Peter's girthy cock sat at the back of your throat leaving him in all moans. Suddenly Arvin pushed one of his digits in your leaking pussy. The sudden intrusion choked a moan out of you. The vibration of your moan had Peter's head falling back in pleasure. "You like that, kitten? You like my fingers in you?" you swallowed at Arvin's filthy words. "Do you want him to fuck you with his fingers, fuck you till you are shaking?" Tom said while rubbing your nipples together at the same time. Arvin rubbed your clit with his thumb as you bobbed you head up and down on Peter's cock.
"Such a good pussy, Tom" Arvin panted. "Vin' e-every time you talk like that, she s-swallows and it feels so fucking good." Peter said in between his moans. "Yeah? you like it when we talk dirty?" a sudden slap sent vibration throughout your pussy and you swallowed your moan. That was it for Peter, he came in your mouth and you could feel hot cum filling your throat.
You popped off of Peter's cock as Arvin pulled you backwards and kissed you. It was messy and rough and you loved it. "Do you want Tom to fuck you?" Arvin asked. On his cue Tom pulled out his cock and slid a condom on it and lined up at your entrance. "P-Please" you managed to say while Arvin continued to rub your clit. "Please what kitten?" he pushed you towards your edge. "Please fuck me" you moaned. "Fuck her Tom and don't cum till I say" Arvin commanded.
Peter took one your nipples in his mouth as he Arvin pushed through your velvety folds slowly allowing you to adjust. Arvin wasn't as girthy as Peter but he was longer than him. Tom bottomed out with a grunt, "so tight and wet. N-Not gonna last".
"P-Please m-move" you mumbled and it was enough for Tom to fetch out his cock completely and slam it in again. Soon he set a pace which had you writhing under him.
With Tom fucking you at a past that has you drifting to heaven and Arvin rubbing you clit vigorously with Peter sucking your nipples together was enough to send you over the edge. "Can I cum, Pplease?" you panted. "Not yet kitten" with that soon Arvin replaced his thumb with his tongue. "Come on kitten cream all over his cock. need you taste you." he said and it was enough for you to let go.
You had never cum this hard in your life. You could feel Tom's softening cock slip out of your pussy and Arvin was kind enough to clean all the mess with his tongue. The overstimulation was too much for you so you came second time that night.
All the three of you were staring at the ceiling, panting when you spoke, "Oh I am definitely into trouble".
"Triple Trouble" all of them spoke together.

Winter Storm
Jared Padalecki x Reader
Summary: You play Cordell Walker’s daughter on the new show Walker. Jared takes you under his wing. What happens when a winter storm hits all of Texas.
Warnings: Mentions of a rough upbringing, Texas winter storm, power outage, water problems, some angst, scary weather, fluff, protective Jared, maybe a cuss word somewhere
A/N: As a Texan, this past week has been scary. I have been extremely blessed to not have the problems that a lot are. I was lucky and did not lose power and did not have any pipes burst. This idea came to me after seeing that Jared and Gen were helping others while dealing with their own problems at their house.

MASTERLIST   BUY ME A COFFEE
Tumblr media
Winter weather will be hitting Texas this weekend. You can expect lots of snow and ice. It is best to prepare for possible power outages and water being turned off. That is worst case scenario, but be prepared as Sunday will be a cold one.
You panicked. Growing up in North Texas you never had to deal with severe winter weather. You were used to dealing with tornados. But the way they were talking on the news, this weekend was going to be bad.
Thankfully you had the day off and were able to go to the store. You grabbed a case of water and food that you could prepare and food that didn’t have to be cooked to eat. You were still getting used to the adult life as an 18 year old, but since you had been taking care of yourself the last few years, you learned a thing or two in the kitchen. You made sure to grab some snacks as well since they didn’t have to be cooked or stored in the fridge either.
As you pulled up to your apartment building, you got a call from the lead and producer of the show you were on. You still weren’t sure how you managed to land the role of Stella in the new show Walker, but you were grateful. You put the car in park and grabbed your phone.
“Hey Jare.” You said. Jared was the older brother you always wanted, even though he plays your dad and he has moments where he acts like your dad. You didn’t have a great life growing up and to have a male figure in your life to help you in anyway, made you happy. Same thing with Gen.
“Hey Y/N/N. How’re you doing?” He asked.
“I’m doing good. Just got back from the store. Am I needed on set?” You asked in a panic thinking you missed something.
“No, no you’re not needed. Just wanted to call and tell you we are not filming Monday or Tuesday next week. And depending on the weather and roads, we may cancel Wednesday as well.” He informed you.
“Oh. Is it because of the storm?” You asked.
“Yeah. We aren’t sure how bad it’ll be, but we are hoping we are just being over cautious.” He said. “You said you went to the store?”
“Yeah. I just wanted to get something’s so I won’t have to get out. And I got some stuff. I won’t need to cook in case we lose power. Also filled up with gas in case I lose heat and need to warm up some.” You told him.
“Come stay with us. We have plenty of room and we have a fireplace. We just restocked our firewood supply. I don’t want to be worrying about you all weekend.” He said.
“I’ll be okay. Really. Thank you for the offer though.” You said nicely. You really did mean it. You were used to taking care of yourself that when people did want to help you, you appreciated them.
“Well. I have my truck if I need to come get you. If you change your mind, come over. The kids would love to see you.” He said. You heard Gen agree with him in the background. “And Gen would too.”
“Well after the storm, I’ll come over for dinner to see everyone. And I’ll even come another night to babysit so you and Gen can go on a date.” You said with a laugh once you heard Gen immediately laugh.
“Gen says you don’t have to, but I will take you up on both offers.” Jared told you. “Okay. Well stay in touch. They say it’ll start sometime tomorrow night.”
“Y’all stay safe and stay in touch too.” You said. “Bye Jare.”
“Bye Y/N/N.” He said before hanging up. You put your phone back into your pocket before lugging all of the groceries into your apartment. You put everything away before going to change out of your winter clothes.
After changing into some PJs to be comfortable. You decided to meal prep some so you wouldn’t have to worry about it later. And if the weather isn’t as bad as they think it’ll be, you can just eat them throughout the week.
Sunday morning, you woke up and looked outside. All you could see was white fluffiness. You smiled as the world looked at peace. You loved snow. You always thought it brought beauty to the world.
When you walked back to your phone where it laid on its charger, you saw a couple of texts from Jared and Gen. Both had sent you photos of Tom, Shep, and Odette playing the in the snow. Then you saw Jared’s text about possible rolling power outages.
You picked up the phone and called Jared and before he could even say hello, you asked, “What does that mean? Your text... I don’t understand it.”
“It means they’ll shut the power off for an hour to three hours to preserve energy.” Jared said.
“Oh.” You said.
“Yeah, so if the power goes out, don’t worry, it should come back on.” He reassured you.
“Okay. Thank you for letting me know.” You replied.
“Of course. How are you doing anyways?” He asked.
“Good. Just woke up. Felt good to sleep in. I’m probably about to start warming up my lunch.” You informed him. “How are y’all handling it over there? I saw the pics you and Gen sent. The kids look like they’re having a blast.”
“We’re doing good. The kids are definitely loving the snow. I did have to help Gen gather the chickens this morning which wasn’t fun.” He said with a laugh.
“Oh gosh. Yeah chasing chickens isn’t fun. Are they okay? I didn’t even think about y’all’s animals?”
“They’re all in the barn with heat lamps. Thankfully the barn is powered by solar so we don’t have to worry too much if the power goes out since we have a lot of energy stored up.” He said.
“Good that’s good. Well I’ll let you get back to doing whatever you were doing. Thanks again for letting me know.”
“Anytime. If you need something, holler. Okay?” He asked.
“I will. Bye.” You said. You heard his farewell as you went to hang up the phone. After preheating the oven, you took the lasagna and boxed garlic bread out of the freezer. You figured, while the power was still on, you could cook the one meal you prepped that couldn’t be eaten cold until you cooked it and it was leftovers.
An hour later, you sat at the counter charging your phone and iPad while you ate. When you went to take another bite, the power cut off.
“Great.” You whispered. You knew it was only going to be for a few hours, but you were a little aggravated by the inconvenience. You stood up and went and put on thicker sweatpants and your socks. When you made it back to your phone to text Jared that your power went out, you saw you barely had any service. That concerned you in case you needed to make a call for an emergency.
Power just went out. Hopefully y’all didn’t lose power. I’ll let you know when it’s back on. Sent 1:23 pm
You continued to eat as you awaited a response. Shrugging when you finished your meal and put the dirty dish in the sink, you moved to the living room to read a book you started the night before.
Hours later, you still had no power and you still hadn’t heard from Jared or Gen. You had checked social media, but neither had posted anything. You decided to scroll through Twitter and saw the horrors of people’s pipes bursting and roofs caving in flooding their homes.
Seeing people in Austin posting that, you decided to grab a tote to store your valuables in. Sadly, it wasn’t a lot, but the idea of losing what little you had that meant something to you scared you.
You needed to go to your car to charge your phone and warm up some, so you decided to store your valuables in the trunk. Thankfully you had a covered parking space that was right in front of your apartment. When you put the tote in the trunk, you checked to make sure the tail pipe was clear of snow before you started the car.
After spending an hour in the car, you decided it was time for bed. Grabbing every piece of blankets you had, you cuddled up in Jared’s hoody that you stole from him when you filmed episode 2 of Walker and all the blankets. You even had on two pairs of socks on since you got cold earlier.
The next morning, you checked to see your phone still had more than half its battery life left. But what shocked you was still no response from Jared. You got on Instagram and saw that Gen had posted a boomerang of him with his socks on as gloves, but neither had checked in with you.
You were kind of upset by this. You knew they didn’t owe you anything, but it still hurt. Going to the kitchen, you saw it was flooded.
“Oh no. Oh no. Nonononono.” You panicked. You ran to the bathroom and grabbed all the towels you owned and rushed back to the kitchen. You threw them down to try and absorb as much water as possible. You opened the cabinet and saw the pipe that had burst. You grabbed your phone and called the landlord.
“Hey Craig. I had a pipe burst this morning.” You said when he answered.
“Can’t do much with the weather like this.” He said not really caring.
“Can you turn the water off or something? Or tell me where it is and I’ll do it.” You said getting angry.
“Can’t do that either. If I do that, your neighbors lose their water too.” He said.
“Well what am I supposed to do. Just sit in water all day?” You asked with an annoyed tone.
“City’s running out of water anyway so they may shut it off. So won’t be long before it stops.” He said. You got so mad that you hung up. He was useless.
After 3 hours, all of your towels were soaked and you started using some of your clothes to help absorb what the towels couldn’t. You had tried calling Jared to see if he knew what to do but it went straight to voicemail. Same with Gen.
After using most of your clothes to stop the water, you decided to pack a bag in case you had to leave. Plus it would let you know what you could use to absorb the water that still remains. Thankfully your landlord had turned the water off after multiple people called about pipes bursting. All you had to do was finish cleaning up the mess.
Two days later, you were sitting in your car, about to go back into your apartment when you got a call from Gen.
“Y/N. Oh my gosh it’s so good to hear from you. We haven’t had service, plus we lost power and had a few pipes burst. Are you okay?” She asked worriedly.
“I’m okay. Sitting in my car right now so I could charge my phone and warm up a bit.” You told her.
“You don’t have power still?” She asked.
“Nope. And I also had a pipe burst. But I cleaned it up and nothing was damaged. Did you have any damage done? Is everyone okay?” You asked concerned.
“Yeah. We are fine. And just minimal floor damage.” She told you. “Jared is cleaning that mess up while I’m going to the store. Do you need anything? We have some of our neighbors over trying to stay warm and I’m grabbing them stuff too. So I don’t mind getting you anything.”
“I’m okay. I have plenty.” You said. You wanted heat. You wanted to sleep without having to wear five layers, but you refused to ask.
“Well if you do need something, text or call. Hopefully we get service back.” She said.
“I will. Thanks Gen.” you said as you hung up. Ten minutes later you got a call from Jared.
“Pack a bag and bring some blankets.” He said before you could even greet him.
“What?” You asked genuinely confused.
“I said, pack a bag and bring some blankets. Also if you want to bring any food you don’t want to go to waste or if you have water, bring that too. I’ll come in and help you carry.” He said.
“Wh-wait.. what is happening?” You asked.
“I’m coming to get you and you are going to stay with us for a couple of days. I just got off the phone with Gen and she said you had a pipe burst and you don’t have heat. So you are going to come stay with us until your power is back on and the pipe is fixed.” He said. “I’m pulling up. I’ll be inside in a second.” He hung up before you could say anything.
You went and unlocked the door before moving to your room. You grabbed your big suitcase and packed what few pair of pants you had, a weeks worth of underwear, two weeks worth of socks since you hated having cold feet, and the remaining three sweaters and seven shirts you had. It barely filled your suitcase so you decided to throw in a couple of hoodies as well.
“That all your packing?” Jared asked concerned. No one knew how long this was going to last.
“It’s all I got clean.” You answered honestly.
“No way.” He said in disbelief. You shrugged and told him to follow you as you walked into the kitchen. He saw the pile of clothes and towels on the ground. “Oh Y/N. I’m sorry this happened to you.”
“Happened to you too.” You said before moving back to your room. You grabbed a blanket and started to fold it, starting a pile you were taking with you to the Padalecki’s. Once you finished that, you grabbed your pillow too.
“Want any books or anything? You have room in your suitcase.” Jared said as he pointed to it. You shrugged and grabbed a few books you had been wanting to read. After throwing them into the suitcase, you ran to the living room to grab your iPad and chargers.
“We can charge them in the cars if we need to.” Jared said when you thought about not putting them in your bag. You nodded before throwing them in and zipping it up. “This ready to go to the truck?” You nodded once again before he grabbed the suitcase handle and stack of blankets and your pillow with ease. “Go figure out food and I’ll come back to help.”
Once in the kitchen, you grabbed the full water case you had bought a few days before and the almost empty one that you had already opened. You then moved to the fridge to grab the few casserole dishes you had left to eat. You grabbed your travel food carrier and put the casseroles in first before the almost empty case of water in after it. You saw Jared walking back in and asked,
“Is there any food of mine you want? I’ve got everything packed that will definitely go bad before I get back. The rest has already gone bad.” You said while looking at Jared who was looking through your cabinets. He found your snack one and grabbed a few things and shoved them in your carrier.
“That’s all I want.” He smirked. “Ready to go? We can come back in a couple of days if we need to.”
“Ready.” You walked to his truck and he helped you load the water and carrier. As you got into the passenger seat and started to buckle, you said, “thanks for coming to get me and letting me stay with you.”
“Anything for family.” He said smiling at you before driving carefully back to his house.
“But we aren’t family?” You said more as a question.
“You’re my tv daughter, so technically we are.” He said with a laugh. “But in all seriousness, I do see you as family. Me and you have gotten close over these past few months. I can see you as a daughter and I can see you as a little sister.” You could hear the sincerity in his voice.
“Really?” You asked. He nodded his head. “It means a lot to hear you say that. I see you as a big brother.”
“Good.” You saw him smile. “That means you can ask me for anything or do anything and I’ll be there for you. Sorry I didn’t come get you sooner. I thought about it.”
“It’s okay. I tried calling but could never get through. It happens. I’m just glad nothing more serious happened. I’m glad we are all safe.” You said honestly.
“And we are about to get you warm. We have the fire going in the living room and in mine and Gen’s room. Kids have been sleeping with us or on the floor in our room. You’re welcome to make a pallet in front of the fire and crash there.” He said as he pulled into his driveway.
“Sleeping in front of a warm fire sounds lovely right now. Thank you.” You leaned over and gave him a big hug. “I love you Jare.” You said before pulling back to kiss his cheek.
“Love you too y/n/n.” He smiled at you. “Now let’s go take all this in and get you warmed up.”

idk if you're taking requests but I would die to have a tom x bi!fem!reader I guess I never read one. like something with her ex girlfriend calling and him getting jealous. treating this as a normal thing CAUSE IT SHOULD BE A NORMAL THING. sorry my bi-self its kinda angry today lol. BTW you're writing its just... omg so good, you're freaking talented girl!
you had me at bi!reader lol also yes i named the ex after jade from victorious don’t @ me
i’m also tempted to make a nsfw version of this but...
warnings: swearing, drug mention
You sighed when the music you had been playing in Tom’s car cut off suddenly and reached up to reject the incoming call, but froze when you saw “j (don’t answer!!!)” pop up as the Caller ID. Your thumb hovered over the End Call button, hesitating for a second too long before finally tapping it and swiping away the notification. You held your breath as the music came back on, hoping your boyfriend hadn’t noticed your reaction. But he knew you better than you knew yourself and picked up on your nerves instantly.
“Who was that?”
You cursed under your breath and sunk further into your seat. “Oh, uh, just... Jade.”
A spark of recognition lit up behind his warm, brown eyes and he pursed his lips. “Jade? Your ex-girlfriend?”
“That’s the one,” you confirmed, nodding.
“Why is she calling you?”
You shrugged and tried to play it off. “I don’t know.”
To be fair, you didn’t know why she was calling, but you knew it had to be important if she was reaching out at all. Your relationship hadn’t ended on the best of terms all those months ago, and there was still the dull ache of what was associated with her name. You didn’t want to talk to her. And you really didn’t want Tom to watch you talk to her.
“Should you... call her back?” he asked.
“No,” you answered a little too quickly, averting your eyes from your boyfriend’s gaze. “It’s fine.”
“Are you sure?”
You were about to reply when the Incoming Call notification popped up on the Audi’s touchscreen display again. You muttered fuck under your breath and pressed the answer button against your better judgment, worried that she might be in some sort of trouble.
“Hello?”
“Hey, y/n,” her voice echoed through the speakers softly and you had to force yourself to take a breath before responding so your voice wouldn’t shake.
“Uh, Jade. Um, is everything okay?”
You glanced over at Tom who was focused on the road. He appeared to be as calm and composed as ever, but his grip on the steering wheel gave his true feelings away. His knuckles were turning white around the dark leather and the seams were pressing into his skin. You reached out and put a hand on his thigh in an attempt to calm both his and your own nerves.
“Yeah, everything’s fine,” Jade said after a moment, clearing her throat awkwardly. “Actually, no it’s not.”
“Oh, what’s up?”
“Do you remember our shitty landlord back at Monty’s?” she asked.
“How could I forget?” you laughed bitterly, even though it was all you wanted to do. “That asshole tried to make us pay double rent like six different times, claiming we hadn’t already paid it.”
“He was also homophobic as hell,” Jade added.
“And creepy.”
Jade laughed and those old, fluttery feelings in the pit of your stomach threatened to surface again. It was the effect she always had on you and apparently still did, at least in some capacity. Guilt began to set in when you felt yourself smile listening to her laugh and you retracted your hand from Tom’s leg.
“But why do you ask?”
“Oh, right. He’s being a dick about the faucet in our- my bathroom. It’s leaking and he won’t fix it because he says it’s my fault that it’s broken in the first place.”
You hadn’t realized Jade still lived in that old apartment you used to share. Maybe you should have guessed, since you had been the one to move out when things ended, but it had been so long ago that you had just assumed she was living somewhere else now. You wondered if she had taken other people home there, if there was someone different sleeping in your spot on the bed every night, cooking for her like you used to-
“Anyway,” she went on, snapping you out of it, “it’s bullshit. It’s leaking because it’s old, not because I did anything to it. But he always listened to you because you were better at sweet-talking him. I’m... too bitchy, I guess. I know it’s a lot to ask after everything that happened between us, but I was wondering if you could maybe... give him a call? And ask him to fix it?”
Tom looked over at you with eyebrows raised expectantly, him and Jade both waiting for your answer.
“Yeah, I can give him a call,” you sighed reluctantly. “But if he says no, I’m not asking again.”
“Oh my god thank you, y/n,” she gushed. “You’re the best! I-I wouldn’t have called, but the leak has already damaged part of the floor and he’s dodging me-”
“You don’t have to explain it all. I’ll call him, okay?”
“Okay, okay. Thank you so much. You’re a fucking lifesaver.”
“Don’t mention it,” you said, “I’ll uh, I’ll text you to let you know what he says.”
“Sounds good!” she chirped. “Hey, if everything goes well you should let me smoke you out as a thank you.”
“Oh,” you paused, glancing back at Tom who wasn’t even hiding his scowl now. “You don’t have to do that.”
“Well the offer’s open if you ever want to take me up on it. Ya know, for old time’s sake.”
“I’ll keep that in mind,” you promised.
“Okay,” she said with a sigh, “I’ll let you go now... it was nice hearing from you again.”
“Yeah, likewise,” you lied through gritted teeth and hung up, finally feeling like you could exhale.
Your music started playing automatically again once the call had ended, but Tom turned it down immediately, clearly distracted.
Your head was still reeling from the conversation you’d just had and you would need three to five business days to process it, but you knew you had to say something to Tom. You couldn’t tell what he was thinking, but his jaw was clenched like it was when he was upset so you knew it couldn’t be good.
“I’m... sorry if that was weird for you,” you tried. “I know it was weird for me.”
Tom turned his head toward in surprise, as if he hadn’t been expecting you to say anything, and his eyes softened immediately. “Are you okay, love?”
“Yeah,” you said and nodded like you were trying to convince yourself too, “I think so.”
“You sure?”
You nodded again, then asked him the same. “Are you okay?”
He took a deep breath. “I’m trying to be.”
“What do you mean?”
“I mean, my girlfriend’s ex just called her out of the blue and basically asked to hook up with her right in front of me, so I’ve been better.”
You fought the urge to roll your eyes at your boyfriend’s jealousy and settled for crossing your arms over your chest instead. “Tom, she did not ask to hook up with me. Were we listening to the same conversation?”
“It wasn’t that hard to read between the lines, y/n. ‘You should let me smoke you out as a thank you’, like that wasn’t just straight-up flirting. She was obviously using the god damn faucet as an excuse just to talk to you again.”
“I-”
He wasn’t wrong, and evidently you both knew that. The faucet might have been a legitimate issue, but it was an awfully convenient one too. You brought your thumb to your mouth and started chewing on your nail anxiously, not even realizing you were doing so until Tom gently pulled your hand away.
“Sorry,” you murmured.
“No, darling, don’t apologize,” he insisted. “I know it was probably difficult to hear from her after so long, and I, I’m not making it any fucking easier. I just got in my head about things... because your relationship with her was so serious and it lasted for like two years and you lived together and we’ve only been dating for a few months-"
You sighed and leaned over the center console to rest your head on his shoulder. “All of that may be true, but you know I would never go back to her, right?”
He paused for a moment before finally nodding. “I do.”
“She’s my past. You’re my future.”
Tom smiled and leaned down to kiss you on the forehead. “And you’re mine. For as long as you want to be.”

The Bebop Blues - [Animal Crossing | Tom Nook x Reader]
[Gender-Neutral Reader | Slow Burn + Tragicomedy]
Part 1 of 10 | And They Were Business Partners
[Next]
Rating: PG
Updates: Twice (to thrice) a month on Wednesdays
• • •
The melodies that follow after he ends his song become a blur as you contemplate his choice of music.
You'd heard him mention it being his favourite a long, long time ago, back when the island had only just managed to have an upgraded Resident Services building. It's almost half a year after that you're able to hear him sing, and it leaves you to wonder over what a successful man like him could be troubled with. The both of you were the main people responsible for making the island thrive as much as it had to this day, and every time he seemed to be in a tight spot, he relied on you without fear over making himself appear weak.
So if the island was doing well under his care and he had you around for whenever matters got too complicated for him alone, then what was he feeling down about?
Or was that song simply one he liked for its melody, and nothing more?
Either way, you don't have much time to think about that now with the sound of him calling your name. He gestures for you to follow him off to a less crowded area, farther away from those lining up to sing their heart out for what's left of the night. His directions lead you to the beach, though the chilly air sends you backtracking in your steps, avoiding the water at all costs.
As much as you liked swimming and doing pretty much just a bit of everything around the island, you're not feeling up to it presently. The night's far too cold, and though it doesn't snow on the island, it's clear winter's here. You search your inventory for some warmer clothes, yet you realize you've nothing but your tools and swimsuit with you. All other items had been stored away in order for you to carry all the materials necessary for your next big project.
"I'm afraid I don't have a coat with me, but…" Nook stands right beside you, almost brushing shoulders with you in the process. "We can stay like this for a moment, if you don't mind." He then excuses himself to retrieve something from his pockets, though he stays close to your side while he does that. When he finds what he's looking for, you see it's a song, though unlike Slider's disks, his has no album cover, title, or any of that sort; only your name can be seen scribbled on it at a first glance. "This is for you." He offers it to you and takes his gaze elsewhere once you have the disk in your possession. Nook doesn't say anything else, and -- instead -- waits, though all while simultaneously pretending not to.
When you flip it over, you see it's one of your top three favourite tracks: K.K. Metal, but sung by him.
...Yeah.
Not exactly what you expect a guy like him to be capable of singing, yet curiosity helps you imagine him trying to match his voice and attitude with the tone of the song.
You thank him, and -- being the small villager that you are -- stand on your tiptoes and offer him a kiss on the cheek.
He takes a few steps back and keeps his hand pressed against the spot you've kissed. Pink spots his cheeks, but it's not quite like that embarrassed reaction you were given when you just discovered how to display emotions. Rather, he seems to have transcended beyond the realms of the game's possibilities enough for a new emotion to be unlocked, and so you mimic the expression out of pure custom -- therefore creating a glitch, as you already have all reactions unlocked.
It's like… imagine a hamster when it hears something: ears perked, wide eyes, standing on two legs and all that -- but blushing, as well.
That's the emotion he's displaying to you right now.
"...Are you okay?" you ask, oblivious as always. "Do you… Do you need me to call a doctor?"
It takes him a minute, but he manages to snap out of it.
"It's quite alright," he says, shaking his head. "But… May I, by any chance, reciprocate your kiss?"
Though his word choice is awkward and odd, you smile and nod, replying with, "Sure -- Now, c'mere!"
You tug him by his Hawaiian shirt's collar, stand on your tiptoes again, and bring him closer, allowing him to kiss you back, something proven to be difficult for how long his snout is. Still, he persists and presses a quick kiss to your cheek, though it goes a similar way as to when people wearing glasses try to do the same thing; it's like that for him, though it's his snout what blocks him from doing it properly, rather than a pair of glasses. It's an endearing act from his part nonetheless, prompting you to bring him closer for a hug.
"Happy one-year anniversary," you say, words murmured. "I'm glad to have met you." A pause follows, though you soon continue with, "It's not everyday people get to have landlords like you -- with no rent payment deadlines, and no threats of being kicked out whatsoever, y'know?"
Nook chuckles. "Happy one-year anniversary." He then takes a breath. "You say that, and yet you've paid every single debt so far."
"What can I say?" You grin. "We make great business partners, don't we?"
He seems disappointed, though you don't think much of it. "...Yes." A sigh leaves him, though it's barely audible and could just as easily be confused with the soft, nightly winds of the beach. "Truly so."
Wanting to cheer him up, you sit down on the sand and extend your hand out to him, pulling him to sit next to you once he takes your hand in his.
"What's troubling you, Tom?" you ask, frowning. "You know I'm here for you."
His eyes squint into a smile, yet the words that follow contrast with it. "I'm afraid this isn't something you can help me with, (Y/N)." He looks away for a split second, distracted by a moth fluttering next to a lamp. "But even so, thank you for your concern," he adds, squeezing your hand tight.
You squeeze it back and return his smile. "Anytime, friend."

Off-Limits: Part 1
Tumblr media
Characters: Tom Holland X Reader Osterfield, Harrison Osterfield
Word Count: 2005
Warning: language, fluff (I think that's it...)
A/n: This is the first of many parts. I want to apologize now, this part is a little on the boring side (well that's what I think) but I needed to set a lot of things up in this in this one. It gets better I promise.
Also Feedback is more than welcome, the good and the bad.
Tumblr Masterlist. Off-Limits Masterlist
Today was a hectic day for you to say the least. You had to make sure everything was set for your move back home tomorrow. You have been living in the states for the last four years. You had left home to pursue dancing. You had gotten into Juilliard. It was something that you had dreamed of since you were a little girl. Your mother had signed you up for dance when you were about 4 and you just never took off your ballet slippers. When you had gotten accepted, you were in shock. Only 7% of applicants are actually accepted. With the support of your amazing family, you were able to follow that dream. You had left home at 17, now here you are 21 and a Juilliard graduate.

“Hello?”
“Hey Y/n!”
“Harrison, how are you?
“I’m good, Are you ready for tomorrow?”
“Well since you called me in the middle of me packing, I’m going to say no, I’m not ready at all Haz.”
You were so excited to hear from him. It felt like you haven’t talked to him in ages. When in reality you talked to him almost every day. You were looking forward to seeing him tomorrow. It has been hard on you not being able to see him. You guys were super close before you left. Which made you try that much harder to keep in touch with him. There were nights where you were up extremely late, because of rehearsals, and you still wanted to talk to him. So, you would call, and every time without fail, he would pick up. Some nights you guys would just sit on facetime and not actually be talking. You have fallen asleep on the phone with him many times, but you wouldn’t change those moments for anything.
“Well maybe you should have started earlier.” The sass coming from him made you chuckle.
“I started three days ago. I just get sidetracked easily remember.”
“With what? Have you collected that much stuff in the last four years?”
“No, it’s just I have tons of photos and things that bring up memories. Mostly it’s the stuff that I brought with me that keeps distracting me.”
“Oh well, soon you will be back home, and you won’t have to look at my adorable face through photos anymore.”
“Bold of you to assume that they are all of you.”
“Well who else would they be of?”
“Hold on.”
You switched to facetime. After Haz popped up on your screen you propped up your phone on the table. You walked over to one of your bags and pulled out a box. Bringing it over to the table before opening it. The first photo was of you and Harrison. You were about 6 and he was 5. You had your hand on your hip, you were also kind of glaring at Haz because he was making fun of you for being shorter than him.
“I know this one has you in it, but I absolutely love it. Do you remember when mum took us to that studio to have professional photos taken?” You flipped the photo around for him to see.
“Yeah, I looked good in those photos.”
“Haz, I’m in those photos too.”
“Sorry, my eyes went straight to me.” He gave you a little smile.
“Of course, they did.” You picked up the next one. “This one is of me and my favorite Holland boy.”
You showed him a photo of you and Paddy. It was from the day before you were leaving for New York. He was super upset that you were leaving. He was hugging you and didn’t want to let you go. You asked him if he had a photo of the two of you, would it help him. He of course said yes. So, you pulled your phone out and took a photo. Later you had two of them printed, and you gave one to him and kept one for yourself.
“Aww Paddy. Okay I will give you that one. He’s my favorite too. Next one.”
“You do realize that this isn’t helping me get any packing done.”
“I know but would you rather be doing this or packing?”
“You got me there. Moving on, this one is of Tom and I.”
You show him the photo. Tom had picked you up and had you hanging off his shoulder. You were laughing pretty hard at his sudden movement. You remember being too far back, you thought that he was going to drop you. So, you had wrapped one of your arms around his waist to make sure you had an anchor if you slipped out of his hands.
“If I remember correctly, I took that photo.”
“Okay, I am so done with you.”
“No, wait what else do you have in that box?”
“Umm, a bunch of little things. Like movie stubs, a small notebook that has drawings, concert tickets, some old jewelry that is too small for me now, my first pair of ballet shoes, some cards, figurines and a few other things.”
“Wow, I didn’t know you were so sentimental.”
“Well I am. This box is basically my life. Everything in here has a memory or a feeling attached to it. Whether it was mine, someone gave it to me or even just one of the photos. I would be absolutely devastated if something happened to it”
“That’s a lot of pressure to put on a box Y/n.” This caused both of you to chuckle, you could tell he was trying to lighten the mood.
“I guess it is, but it is literally my world in a box.”
You started hearing talking in the background. Harrison looked off to the side and started talking.
“Oh, sorry mate I didn’t realize you were on a call.”
“It’s okay, she won’t mind.”
“You sure?”
“Yeah.” Harrison turned his phone slightly to the side so that half of his face was still on screen. The other half was to dark to make out a face. You started looking around at how much you had left to do.
“Y/n?” The voice sounded familiar, but you looked around for a few more seconds.
“Yeah. Hey Haz, I think I should…” When you finally looked back Tom’s face was next to your brothers. “TOM!!”
“Hey! How are you?” He seemed genuinely excited to see you.
“I’m doing alright. I have a lot of packing to finish up in the next few hours though. How are you?”
“I’m good. I’m on holiday right now. I must go back to work in a few months. So, I’m enjoying the time I have at home.”
“That’s great. Soon you will be back to saving people around the neighborhood, right Spiderboy.”
“Oh, now that hurts. It’s Spider-Man Darling.” He put his hand on his heart like you had really offended him.
“Umm… I like Spider-Boy better.” You had a cheeky grin on your face.
“Wow… I didn’t realize how much of an accent you had gotten from being over there.”
“I don’t have an accent.”
“Yes, you do. It would be weird if you didn’t though. You have been there for four years.”
“I personally don’t think I have an accent, but I guess I can’t really hear it while I’m speaking.”
Harrison was just looking between the two of you. He didn’t like the fact that you were flirting with each other, but he didn’t say anything. They have been friends just as long as he and Tom have. He decided to let the two of you talk for a little bit longer.
“I would love to keep talking but I really do have a lot of things left to pack.”
“That’s okay, I will see you when you get back.”
“Absolutely.”
“Bye Y/n. See you tomorrow. Love you.”
“Bye Haz, love you too. Bye Tom.”
“Bye.”
-The Boys-
Harrison ended the call he looked over at Tom, who was looking at his phone with a large grin on his face. Tom quickly noticed that Harrison was looking at him, and his facial expression changed.
“What? Why are you looking at me like that?” Tom had a confused look on his face.
“Nothing.”
“It’s not nothing, what’s wrong man?”
“I’m fine.”
“I have known you long enough to know when something is wrong. So, let’s just skip this and tell me what’s wrong.”
“Nothing’s wrong.” He paused for a few seconds. “How long have you liked Y/n?”
“What?! I don’t, we are just friends.”
“Then why are you flirting with her?”
“I wasn’t. Like I said we are just friends.”
Harrison got up and started walking to the door to leave. “Let’s keep it that way Tom.”
-Back to Y/n-
After the call ended you got back to work. You were able to get the rest of your things packed with little to no distractions. Once that was all done you started on the cleaning. You also made sure to lay out everything on the counter that you would need for the morning. After going through your mental check list, you packed it all into your backpack.
Once everything was done, you looked around the empty apartment. Thinking about all the memories that you have made here. You were going to miss it, but you couldn’t wait to go home.
You remembered back to when Tom and Harrison were in New York. You had been able to see Tom in action. Harrison brought you to set a couple of times while Tom was filming. You had an awesome time seeing how all the things on set work. How even though there are a million different moving parts, they worked like a well-oiled machine. You were also able to meet a few of the cast members while you were there.
In return, you had taken Harrison and Tom with you to a few rehearsals and then your final showcase. You know that it wasn’t as exciting as watching a Marvel movie being made but you wanted to show the guys what you had been doing. They were excited to go with you. After the showcase you had found them, they were telling you how awesome you had done. They also told you how proud of you they were. Tom had gotten you a bouquet of flowers, which was another thing you had in your box. You had taken a couple of the flowers and pressed them until they dried. Then you sealed them so that they would stay like that forever.
The next day, you were up early enough that it didn’t seem like you had gotten any sleep. You packed your rental car with all your bags before going to return your keys to the landlord. Then you were off to the airport. After the car was returned, bags were checked and you were on the plane, you finally felt like you could relax. You had a 7-hour flight ahead of you. You had plenty of things to distract you for that time. You would be getting to London around 20:00 (8pm) Due to the time change.
Once you landed, you had to get a trolley for your luggage. Your Mother had dropped off a car for you. Thankfully she had given you a spare key before leaving. You packed the car and drove home. You had so much anxiety built up from the last few days. Now as you were getting closer, you could start to feel all of it melting away.
You pulled the car up in front of your childhood home. You decide to sit there for a few moments. You couldn’t believe after all this time you were finally home. You loved America, but nothing can compare to being back in London. You took a deep breath before getting out of the car. You decided to unload all your bags and carry them up the stairs to the door. After you had everything there, you were finally ready to opened the door.

Tumblr media
I sighed as I dumped the shopping on the floor
"You alright love?" Tom asked coming out of the living room having finished up whatever he was doing
"Fine. tired" I smiled giving him a kiss
"Awww my poor girly, hey how about we have a nice night in tonight?" He offers to give me a cuddle "Yeah?" "Yeah" I nodded
"Alright if you finish up putting the shopping away I will make things cosy for us," He says I nodded and finished up putting all the shopping away once I was all done I went to the living room, the Christmas tree stood in the snowy window the lights flickering and glowing sweetly the tv had a fire on it like a background of a fireplace with sweet Christmas music on low, he patted the sofa beside me so I smiled and sat beside him he threw the blanket over us both and handed me my favourite mug filled with hot cocoa he wrapped his arm around me and gave my cheek a kiss "Better now love?"
"yeah I feel better now tom, thank you" I smiled giving his nose a kiss and nuzzling close to him as he plaid with my hair
"Good you rest and relax my love I'll take care of you" he smiled kissing my head "watch the fire"
"on the tv?" I giggled
"I would light you a real fire but your landlord would be very mad" He says
"He would"
"would you like a marshmallow in your cocoa?" He asked getting a marshmallow bag from the side
"two please" I giggled
"two marshmallows for you" He smiled dropping them in for me
"Do we have cream?"
"Ooohh I want cream actually" He smiled I grabbed the cream from the side and did it on our mugs getting the cream to go high "Kinder?" "Oohh yeah shove a kinder in the cream" I giggled grabbing one unwrapping it and shoving it in the hot chocolate "Can we watch a movie?" "of course we can, wanna watch a nice Christmas movie? wonderful life? charlie brown? Santa clause? die-hard?"
"Krampus?"
"Krampus. it is my love"

Taking summer classes had never been on my agenda, my studies having been mapped out in detail since the day I arrived on campus three years ago. And then the university’s president suddenly has this utterly groundbreaking epiphany and adjusts the curriculum to “ensure that all students will leave Bangtan University well-rounded”.
Screw that. My ass is already well-rounded enough, thank you very much.
But despite my best efforts (i.e. begging President Kim to make an exception followed by crafting a petition that gained over ten thousand signatures), I have found that there is no avoiding the dastardly new physical education requirement. And since my schedule for my upcoming senior year has been planned and set for literal years, I’ve been forced to enroll in the sole summer physical education class offered at Bangtan University - Introduction to Weight Lifting.
I wish I was kidding.
To say that I am dreading the start of class tomorrow would be an extreme understatement. I’ll be lucky to escape this summer without physical injury or the loss of my dignity. Athletics have never been my strong suit, and I’ve only entered our campus gym to go to the smoothie bar.
Groaning at just the mere thought of working out and being graded for it, I trek down the streets of outer campus towards the library, swearing under my breath and sweating profusely.
It’s a blazing hot, blue-skied Sunday in July. Typically, I would be lying on a beach somewhere with a drink in my hand, soaking in the warmth of the sun with joy. But instead, here I am, sweltering and desperate for air conditioning after my ancient window unit wheezed its final breath last night. The comfortable chill of the library is my only hope aside from my landlord who promised to fix my air conditioning by tomorrow.
My frustration builds as I turn onto the block lined with imposing and picturesque estates in which the upper echelon of Bangtan University resides. I’d bet the very last ice-pack in my freezer that these houses have unfailing central air.
I pick up my pace, worn Doc Marten platform sandals slapping against the hot pavement. The pristine mansions seem to mock my distress as they exude the coolness of unbothered wealth. Despite there being no Greek life here at Bangtan University, the lack of letters emblazoned on the numerous estates I pass does not symbolize a lack of status.
This block is home to the athletic teams who throw massive parties whenever they happen to be in the off-season. It’s also home to the legacy clubs - the exclusive groups of current students who are relatives of past alumni.
And last but not least, this block is home to the infamous Bangtan Host Club, a small group of idle rich boys with exceptionally good looks and a penchant for entertaining.
The aforementioned group’s house comes into view as I draw nearer to campus. The host club’s mansion sits on the corner lot right across the street from campus. Typically, students are wary of such proximity - but not those boys. No, they’re un-phased, throwing massive parties every weekend without fail and without repercussion.
During my first semester, I had been confused as to why their parties had never been shut down; but now I know better. The host club’s president Kim Seokjin is the son of none other than the fucking president of the university - the very same man who damned me to my weight lifting fate.
In fact, almost the entire host club is related to someone with influence - either at the university or within the surrounding community. The only exception to the wealth factor is Jeon Jungkook, who attends Bangtan University on a scholarship not unlike myself.
About 99% of the university are host club stans. As for me? I don’t subscribe to that bullshit. And I do mean literally ‘subscribe’. They have newsletters, merch and everything. I would say I don’t understand it at all, but a small part of me does.
They’re fucking gorgeous. Like I’m talking Tom Ford at New York Fashion Week gorgeous. Armani catalogue centerfold gorgeous. Goddamn Sports Illustrated Men’s Swimsuit Edition gorgeous.
In fact, I’m pretty sure Kim Seokjin actually does model in his spare time. With his long limbs, broad shoulders and pillowy lips, Seokjin certainly has the features for it. My freshman year roommate bought so many posters of Seokjin from the host club’s merch website I think I could identify him from a hundred yards away in the dark.
“Hey!” The bellow emanates from the porch of the host club’s house and jolts me from my memories, “Hey, princess!”
I let out a snort. Whoever that pet name is directed at needs to shut that down immediately. I mean, ‘princess’? In this economy? Please. I need off this block ASAP.
“Hello? I’m talking to you, angel!”
The voice sounds closer now, and my eyes squeeze shut. Oh god, this person cannot be talking to me, can they?
Princess? Angel?
The sheer absurdity pushes me onward, and I do not spare a single glance in the direction where the inane greetings originated. Alas, I barely make it two feet before a tall figure screeches to a halt in front of me, panting like he had just run a marathon.
I blink as I take in the very boy who just crossed my mind a minute earlier. Kim Seokjin looms over me, chest heaving and smile gleaming.
“Cupcake, hello!” his smile grows wider, “Why didn’t you answer me? I was talking to you.”
My brain is trying to wrap itself around the unfathomable phenomenon I’m currently witnessing. The host club president is beaming down at me like I’m the last custom Rolex ever made. His white t-shirt that probably costs more than my rent stretches across his shoulders in a way that has to be illegal.
A bead of sweat drips down my back between my shoulder blades. I don’t have time for this attractive detour; I only have time for a long sip of iced water and a seat under an air conditioning vent somewhere deep within the recesses of the quiet library.
“Were you?” I shrug, looking over his illegally broad shoulder and plotting my escape, “I didn’t realize, considering my name isn’t princess, angel or cupcake.”
I inwardly cringe at my tone. I have a tendency to be irritable when the weather is hot, and it seems like today is no exception.
Seokjin stares down at me, his cocky expression wavering for a split second before snapping back into place. “Well, tell me your name then, sunshine, so that I may cordially invite you to the host club’s latest summer extravaganza!” His dark brown eyes sparkle as he remains seemingly impervious to my building ire, beaming down at me.
“No, thank you,” I shake my head decisively and attempt to sidestep around him.
None of my friends are on campus for the summer, and there is no way I'm going alone to a party full of strangers. That just screams bad decisions, just like the time I willingly ate the dining hall’s “Mystery Meat Special” during my second semester.
Seokjin cuts off my path yet again, and my scowl intensifies as I glare up at him, “Could you move, please?”
Seokjin gapes back at me, “D-don’t you want to come to our party?” I stare at him with eyebrows raised. He continues at a higher decibel, “Don’t you know who I am?”
The nerve of this boy. My eyes scrunch shut as I send a quick plea to anyone out there in the universe to send me patience and then internally count backwards from ten.
“Yes, I know who you are, Kim,” I finally say, completely exasperated, “And no, I still don’t want to go to your party.”
Seokjin is gobsmacked, looking like he’s seen a ghost as he stands before me open-mouthed. For a second, I allow myself to indulge one more time in his attractiveness, my eyes wandering along his toned torso, his muscular arms, his high cheekbones, his messy brown hair.
And then he bounces back, snapping his fingers, “Aha! I know what this is. You’re playing hard to get! Okay, I can play along with you, sunshine.”
It’s my turn to gape at him this time, watching as he mumbles to himself about how I must want him to beg for me and how he would just love to do so. I’m about to put a stop to this madness when he spreads his arms wide and announces loud enough for the entire block to hear, “Sunshine, please, attend our party! My heart longs for your presence, and I will only be happy if I can have your arm in mine next Friday night...”
I’m honestly beginning to worry about the boy in front of me. Is he completely unhinged? Am I being Punk’d right now?
Seokjin prattles on, “So, my sun, my moon, my stars, will you please do me the honor of joining me for a night of fun courtesy of the host club? No guest has yet to be disappointed and—!”
I finally just reach up and cover his mouth with my palm, steadfastly ignoring how plush his lips feel against my skin. “Kim Seokjin!” I hiss, “I promise I am not playing hard to get. I simply do not want to go to your party. Now, please, for the love of god, let me walk by you in peace.”
Loud bursts of laughter sound immediately after I finish speaking, and I whip around to locate the source. Two boys jog over to where Seokjin and I are standing on the pavement. Their laughter doesn’t subside with their approach. If anything, it grows louder.
“Oh, come on, pres,” the pink-haired boy who I know to be Park Jimin jeers, his melodic giggles punctuating each word. “Is this how you plan on handling your first rejection?”
My eyebrows pull together in confusion as I turn to face Seokjin, only to find him lying dramatically on the lawn in front of his house with one arm throw over his face.
“Go away, Jimin,” Seokjin groans, ripping out a handful of grass and throwing it at the other boy. Obviously, he doesn't calculate for the wind and sputters when the grass blows back in his face.
“Boss, you’ve really hit a new low,” the blue-haired boy - Kim Taehyung - grins as he looks back and forth between me and the over-the-top performance happening on the lawn. All Seokjin does in return is flip Taehyung off, seeming to have learned from his grass-throwing lesson.
Well, there’s no need for me to stay a second longer within this realm of crazy.
I turn on my heel and head off towards the library, renewed in my desperation for the relief of blissfully cold air.
Alas, I don’t get too far before the two boys with colorful hair are in front of me - each with an arm thrown over the other’s shoulders.
“Well, well, well… I must say,” Taehyung drawls.
“You’re quite an intriguing little thing,” Jimin cocks his head, looking me up and down. I try in vain to steel myself against the heated assessments both boys are giving me.
I’d heard a lot about these two - most of it being completely outlandish and borderline unbelievable. Do they really do everything together?
It’s as if that thought is written all over my face as the smirks grow on the faces of Jimin and Taehyung. “If you don’t want to come to our party for Jin-hyung…”
“Will you come for us?” Taehyung finishes Jimin’s thought, and I am almost certain that he intended for that question to be as suggestive as it sounded.
Before I can even attempt to answer, Seokjin launches up from the ground and barges in between the two boys. “Yah! That is no way to speak to a lady! Have I taught you nothing? Don’t you fools remember lesson number fifty-two on being a good host?”
“We didn’t say anything inappropriate, pres,” Taehyung shrugs, looking pleased with how riled up the older boy is growing. His pink-haired counterpart grins, “If anything, you’re the one with the dirty mind, twisting our innocent words into such filth.”
It’s as if Seokjin is struck by lightning - his shock turning him pale as a ghost before the redness overtakes him. I cannot tell if it’s due to embarrassment or anger. All I know is that I need to bounce.
When Mt. Seokjin finally erupts, I slink away and practically jog across the street to campus. Ah, free at last...
