Chapter 2, part 4/6

(if you look closely at the first panel you might recognize some certain characters…)

Luz had no idea that she had accidentally interrupted a very important meeting, but the Queen of Boiling Bay didn’t care for motivations. Lilith forcefully grabs Luz by the arm and screams at her disrespect. Eda, who was forced to come to the meeting by Hooty, rushes in front of Luz. She tries to explain to Lilith that she had found Luz on the surface and she had brought Luz into the castle to try to help her. However, a very noisy Hooty came up behind Luz and snatched the compass Luz was wearing around her neck.

Hooty gives it to Lilith and she immediately recognizes it as a human artifact. She asks Luz if she knows anything about humans, to which Eda tells Lilith that Luz is unable to speak. Lilith tries a different method and gives Luz a bunch of human stuff in a box and asks her if she can show her what they can do.

Luz, terrified of getting in trouble, obeys and shows Lilith how to use a music box. Lilith is impressed, she had no idea that’s what the box did and immediately asks an even more scared Luz a bunch of questions. Eda interjects, saying that it’s late and maybe we can asked the traumatized child questions in the morning.

Lilith agrees and tells Eda she’ll set up a room and new clothes for Luz. Lilith says that Luz might be a usual asset to dealing with the “confidential information,” whatever that means.

As Lilith glares down at her, Luz has no idea what Lilith wants or what she is planning, and doesn’t know if it’s good or bad…
