Ice cream soup

--Todoroki and Yaoyorozu were best friends since age five. They met on the first day of kindergarten when Yaoyorozu stomped up to the boy and complimented his hair.

She was the only friend he had up until high school. The other kids thought he was... weird.

Shouto almost never spoke unless called on by a teacher or to answer a question. He was more a fan of observing than joining in. And he was... socially awkward. Socializing wasn't his strong suit.

But Momo didn't have much of a problem with that. She took the lead in most of their conversations and Shouto would listen (mostly) and chime in sometimes with a "Really?" or "Did you know that there are theories that aliens built the pyramids in Egypt? Crazy, right?"

The pair had a ritual. Once every month, they would walk to a little ice cream shop, hidden behind bigger buildings and blocked from advertisements of "better" places. The Cream Dream was Shouto and Momo's favorite place for a treat and they savored the moments they had there, albeit few because of their parents. (Endeavor only let Shouto go because he was happy he already had "plans of making his own number 1 someday." Gross.)

Momo would always get their flavor of the month. Sometimes it was gross and sometimes she wished the ice cream wasn't seasonal. Shouto always got vanilla, though he had a... quirky little habit.

Their outings would take longer than normal because Shouto wouldn't eat his ice cream until it was melted into soup. Originally, Momo thought that was weird.

"I must say... I don't think I could eat a whole cup of melted ice cream. It's so much better cold!"

Shouto would shrug and slurp his ice cream soup. "I don't like how it feels all weird when it's frozen."

"Feels all weird? What do you mean?" Momo asked, her cup already empty.

Shouto shrugged again. "Tingly, I guess."

So Momo would wait for her friend's treat to melt to "perfection" and learn to be grateful for the fact that they could have more time because of how darn long it took for Shouto to consider his ice cream acceptable.

Though she had to admit, ice cream soup wasn't all that bad.--

It's from our first date" Admittedly, you're surprised they figured it out so quickly. You don't have much time to ponder anyway because they're pulling you to the couch and kissing your lips again. The door to Katsuki's dorm room slammed open.

There he was. Sitting on his comfy little bed.

He was reading a book and when he saw your angry face he quickly put it down and stared, "What the hell happened to you?"

Your eyebrow twitched as you stomped over to him.

Katsuki was still wearing his school uniform, he barely had gotten back from the last class before you got here. His tie was loose and the first few buttons of his button-up were unbuttoned.

The poor boy felt something tug around his neck. With a big pull, he was on his feet.

"Katsuki Bakugou."

"... Yes?"

"Why the hell did you eat my cake?"

"What are you talking about?"

"You were the one in my mini fridge last night. I had a strawberry cake in there. You took it didn't you?"

"That cake had been in there for two weeks. I threw it out."

Betrayal.

"I was saving that for a special occasion!"

He snarled, "Like what?"

"I don't know!"

Bakugou sighed, "I'll buy you another one if you want it that badly."

Your face brightened, "Really?"

"Just don't pull me up by the tie. It's stupid."

"You're stupid."

"You wanna repeat that?" A smirk made its way onto his face.

"You're stu-" He yanked at your tie, pulling you in for a kiss, "That ought to shut you up."

That left her with a blank expression, cheeks flushing a bit.

Bakugou turned and walked past her, "C'mon, let's get your damn cake."

It was a Thursday evening. You were leaned back in your bed, pillows propped up against the wall for comfort. In your hands was a shoujo manga Mina recommended to you.

The current scene was of a girl tugging her boyfriend by the tie for a kiss. And it caught your attention.

A certain two-toned haired boy would be perfect for a stunt like this. You couldn't help the sly smirk making its way onto your lips. Your bookmark was placed neatly in the page before you set it down on the table next to your bed.

With a skip in your step, you made your way down from your dorm room to the common space.

And there he was, he had just gotten back from class a few moments earlier, so his uniform was still on.

"Hey, Shouto?"

Your voice made him perk up a bit, he turned away from his conversation to smile at you. He was about to say something but was cut off by your iron grip on his tie.

He looked confused for a moment, but was caught more off guard by you tugging on his tie and bringing him down to your level.

Your lips ghosted over his in a small smile, it only took another second to give him a smooch worthy of the Gods.

Todoroki's face turned a little pink, but he reciprocated the kiss in no time.

The shocked faces of everyone around them were a nice cherry on top as your faces drifted apart.

"Just wanted to try something." You winked and gave Todoroki another kiss, this time on the cheek. You walked out and back to your dorm not long after.

"U-uh... Todoroki?" Midoriya asked with a concerned look on his face.

He had a dazed expression, once he snapped out of it his fingertips flew to his lips.

"I'll be right back."

He raced after you and soon caught up back in your dorm room.

"Y/n?"

"Hm?"

"Do it again."

Gojo

"Do I have to?"

"Yes. Stop complaining."

Gojo lazily laid on their shared bed, "But I don't wanna... formal events are so boring!"

Y/n turned toward him and scoffed a bit, "You sound like a child, Satoru."

He frowned a bit, "I'm just saying that we don't exactly have to go."

"I thought you enjoyed parties?"

"Not with a bunch of geezers, I'd rather stay here with you."

The h/c haired woman sighed, walking over to him. His tie was loosely around his neck, not properly tied.

"Let me fix your tie."

He pouted, "Honeyyyyyyy... please, let's just skip."

"Let me fix it."

Gojo made a little humpf sound and only sunk further into the pillows of the bed.

"Fine. Be that way."

He brightened a bit, "So we're not going?"

Instead of answering, Y/n simply leaned over his muscular frame, hovering with both hands placed on either side of his shoulders.

She leaned a little further down, Gojo pushed his head towards her to meet in a kiss. But rather than doing that, she grabbed hold of his tie, and with a big feat of strength, Y/n pulled him to his feet.

He was hunched over, Y/n fixing his tie. Once she was done she kissed his cheek.

"I'll grab your coat."

Gojo blankly stared at her retreating figure. He sighed, now knowing that there was no changing his girlfriend's mind.

"Honey?"

"Hm?" She came back in, his suit jacket in her hands.

"If you give me a kiss we'll get going."

She smiled and gave him another kiss on his cheek.

His hands landed on her waist, holding her in place as she tried to get his jacket on him.

"A real kiss."

Y/n smirked, "You'll get one if you can stay for the entire party."

She slipped the jacket onto him, a frown evident on his face.

"You're a tease."

"Only for you."

I have this different (platonic) ships I have and was wondering about your thoughts on them since you really know the characters! I don't like shipping non-compatible characters so your thoughts on if they'll get along or not would really help!

The platonic ships are:

Baku&Camie (I feel like he would put up with her slang bc of dealing with Denki)

Melissa&Deku (They would totally [and did] geek out on tech/quirks)

Baku&Ocha (He already acknowledges her strength)

Kiri&Tamaki (They already work together with FG so I like to imagine Kiri begging Tamaki to spar with him)

Momo&Iida (With being Class president and vice, I feel like they would hang out a lot and develop a friendship that way)

Sero&Todoroki (Todoroki is pretty dense romantically and I think the same applies platonically, but Sero probably approached him after the sports festival because he found him interesting)

Anyways! These were just some of my platonic thoughts because I've noticed how crazy the fandom is with romance and thought why not mix it up a lil with asking your opinion on them!

So I love these! I’m big on platonic ships.

But here’s the thing,

Bakugou is friends with all the girls (whether he’d admit it or not). Canonically, he gets along with them because they simply do not care about his little attitude issue. My favorite platonic Bakugou pairing is him + anyone in the rich kid club. (Momo, Iida, Todoroki, & Jirou)

Melissa and Izuku but also Monoma (If he can figure out how to stop being a dirt bag). I feel like they all geek out about quirks, especially Monoma because he wants to try them.

Kirishima and Tamaki are already sweet on each other. They both push each other to be better and Kirishima likes to take him on little introvert adventures to make him feel good. (Book cafes, walks, etc)

Momo and Iida, I feel like they get along outside of school very well, but often they’re together for things like press conferences and business meeting, same with Bakugou and Todoroki.

Todoroki and Sero are friends, but I think there’s a very specific dynamic they have. Tired friend + Snarky friend.

Jirou and Mina are BESTIES. Typical yapper+listener friendship. Can be very messy with gossip lol. They are normally who plan dorm activities (movie night, game night, birthday parties, etc). The equal opposite to their friendship is Kirishima and Kaminari.

Sero and Ojiro are best guy friends, they can talk about just calm, normal things. Low energy pals.

Probably rambling, but here are some more reasons why I don’t (romantically) vibe with MHA’s Shoto Todoroki/Momo Yaoyorozu. Whenever the pair are painted in such a light, Todoroki’s needs are highlighted more while Yaomomo’s are often overlooked (as if her needs aren’t as important). A more realistic/plausible take would mean that neither of them are truly happy being in a relationship with each other. Which would lead them to seek their (non-material/financial) needs elsewhere. Also, I’m not fond of the fact that both Todoroki and Yaomomo are pretty watered down when romantically paired together (character-wise). Any problems they may potentially have are often swept under the rug (notwithstanding Todoroki’s difficult past). The combo of OOC (out of character) and sheer sexism are some of the major turn offs for me.

About Ships;

You explained it well, anon. Thats also my problem too.

Actually, thats a common problem with most ships, especially canon romantic ones. There is a reason why people are interested in so called 'platonic friendship' between others than actual romance because when it comes to romance, authors dont seem to put any effort in it. Especially because of 'power of friendship' thing in shounen and mangas, besties have more chemistry than actual romance. Why? Because they are their own characters first. Because whole series is about their relationship and their center arcs connected to each others BECAUSE they care about each others a lot.

For some partners, 'friends' (or even bros/sis) have lines that used in romance movies. (I didnt realize this until others point this out).

'Its always been you and me.' , 'If only i have you'.

Difference between that scene for so called friends and romantic scene? For 'friendship' or 'brotherhood/sisterhood' scene, its earned. Its not out of nowhere. It took a lot times them to get there. Its deep. Its so beautifully written to the point that it makes many readers question that those so called friends are actually in love with each others. And honestly, in most series, it is really questionable.

Well, while platonic relationships are exist and its completely natural to explore those platonic relationships too. People can love each others without any romantic feelings but we rarely get actually well written romance without basic rules. Thats why it feels empty and superficial. And most of the times, its really toxic. It feels simple crush. It feels like it happenned because boy and girl are in same scene. It doesnt feel impactfull enough because in the end, we all know that its not true love. Because love is about getting to know each others, it happens with trust and respect. It takes time and effort. It doesnt happen out of nowhere. Especially at writing, i think it should be explored.

Like, some people already pointed it out;

Romance doesnt even need to happen but if you are gonna put it into your story but dont make any effort to write or actually explore it, then whats the point of writing it?

This is also what i think about todomomo too. I kinda explained it in here. They feel like classic shoujo manga dynamic but just like you said, anon, i think they both are/can be more than that.

Another reason why i think this happens is maybe because the idea of romance for them/media etc. Ships that naturally happen in story also works better than this. In real life, love that starts with friendship is the best, i mean if you cant even be friend with your partner, how can you even have healthy relationship with them? Let them interact first. Let it happen naturally. Let them have conflict. Let them try date. If it doesnt work, then it doesnt. Dont ruin your characters to make 'romance' work. (Because in life romance, most patners wouldnt want to date with someone who is 'in love' with their so called friends. Imagine, actually dating with brocon/siscon or some guy who would prefer their friends/or one specific friend over you, lol. Literally break up reason.)

Basically, i agree with you, anon and its fun to make discussion so dont be afraid to send more asks, if you want, lol.

This post kinda become about ship post discussion but this happens too often and some people even wonder why others dont like their ships or they get mad at people for shipping so called friendship type of relationships. Hm, i wonder why, my friends.

Todomomo,Jaysumm and Bubbline for the ship ask pls!!

I've never done a Ship Bingo before, so this is gonna be fun. Right! So. Here's a few from mah bestie, @supermansbisexualson!

First we got Todomomo, which is Shoto Todoroki and Momo Yaoyorozu from My Hero Academia.

Next we got Jaysumm, which is Jason Todd, aka the Red Hood (also the second Robin!), paired with Summer, whom is bestie's self-insert!

And last but not least, we have Bubbline, which is Marceline the Vampire Queen and Princess Bubblegum (the cutest couple in all of Ooo, imho) from Adventure Time!

So a while back I was talking about a quirkless Deku’s fighting style. Now I have a strong urge to talk about everyone else in his class in this AU. This will mostly be story changes but in some characters’ cases there will be entire personality overhauls.

Yuga Aoyama: We’re keeping the whole (Redacted) thing but now he’s even more conflicted about it as he sees Izuku do well without a quirk.

Mina Ashido: She is literally the exact same. No complaints. Love her to death.

Tsuyu Asui: She’s good.

Tenya Iida: Stain actually manages to get away in this AU and acts as a wild card for the rest of the series, working with whoever best suits his ideals in the moment. Tenya still wants to murder him in cold blood but attempts to hide that fact from everyone who would get in his way.

Ochako Uraraka: keep her pretty much the same pre sports festival. After her fight with bakugo, she realises that being a rescue hero still often requires confrontation. Instead of just going for martial arts like the manga, she realises that the main issue was that she couldn’t get close to bakugo without being blasted. The solution? A giant fuckoff suit of armor with holes for her fingertips replaces her original hero outfit. Her quirk’s endurance is trained so that she can stop the extra weight from impeding her movement. Also just involve her more. I miss her.

Mashirao Ojiro: Him and Izuku are actually pretty close since Ojiro considers his quirk underwhelming and has been bullied in the past for it.

Denki Kaminari: As we’re changing Mineta entirely, he will no longer be his accomplice in his pervy schemes. Instead; we shall take Brock from Pokémon’s gimmick and have him flirt (poorly) with most new women he meets, then either get interrupted or promptly rejected. This is a recurring thing with hagakure.

Eijirou Kirishima: Same as canon. It’s hard to improve on perfection.

Koji Koda: I genuinely don’t know what to do with him.

Rikido Sato: Same as Koji.

Mezo Shoji: emo.

Kyoka Jiro: also emo. They’re besties with shoji. Also has a crush on Momo but refuses to tell her.

Hanta Sero: Tape boy acts as class clown and is izuku’s study buddy. They compare how he uses his quirk to Deku’s support items and vice versa.

Fumikage Tokoyami: Goth. Jiro and him have a bitter rivalry but will band together if someone says they’re both goth or emo to correct them (sometimes violently).

Shoto Todoroki: Same as canon- though he could have another running gag of doing things exclusively to piss off his dad.

Toru Hagakure: Sweet and Bubbly with a gag of being considered the hottest girl at school. Think Lucy from OG Dracula pre vampirism. Also for peace of mind, we’re giving her a hair suit like Mirio. She’s a high schooler come on guys.

Katsuki Bakugo: He’s the exact same at the start but his arc is a bit different. The longer he stays at UA, the more his strength based worldview starts to crumble. The character most involved in this arc of his is endeavor. Bakugo starts to quickly notice how the number 2 hero, while solving more crimes, is still only the number 2 hero because of his lack of friendliness and cooperation. After he stops being an ableist piece of shit, he’s still an asshole. Like he’s still very angry all of the time but he cares a lot about his friends and stops other people from acting like he did.

Minoru Mineta: He is very different. First of all he’s a strategist above all else, using his quirk in interesting ways like setting traps and attaching them to ropes to pull people away from danger. Secondly, he still has a perverted side, but is way less of a creep about it. He’s respectful and normal about women, if a bit awkward and bashful. When Deku first enters his dorm he’s genuinely shocked to see the absurd amount of hentai he has under his bed. Finally he’s one of Deku’s best friends. It’s funny and they both share a love of heroes, tactical minds, and a history of bullying.

Momo Yaoyurozu: Better costume obviously (hair suit like Mirio or something) but also just More Of Her. Come on. She’s great and underutilized.

But more specifically!! I need to see more hyper specific traits in fics.

Like in one of my posts I said Bakugou would be a polyglot. Speaks at least 4 languages, including ASL and JSL. We don’t utilize him being in the rich kids club enough!!!

I feel like both Kirishima and Todoroki are the accidentally kind of mean type. Like they’d say something without thinking that was kinda fucked up (Kirishima would realize and apologize like crazy, it probably only happens with people he’s comfortable with.) ((Todoroki WOULD NOT realize unless you brought it up to him.))

Sero and Shoji are regularly with the girls for girls night, they hold everyone’s secrets and are normally the voice of reason friends.

Kaminari my sweet boy is the youngest of 6 very ill-behaved sisters which is why he’s so wary of danger.

Momo, Jirou, and Uraraka are besties. Girlfriends, plus the friend they adopted as their child.
