St Anthony’s Chapel ruins

There's not a lot known about this wee ruin, it dates at least to the 13th century though, it's a great wee place just to grab some photies on the way down Arthur's Seat, or up if you are coming from this side.

Bearing the name of the patron saint of lost things, it is quite apt that the precise origins of St Anthony’s Chapel have long been forgotten.

Given its commanding position and panoramic views of Port of Leith and the Firth of Forth, is has been put forward that St Anthony’s may have also been used as a beacon tower to guide ships so that they could acknowledge the saint.

Excavations around St Anthony’s Chapel down the centuries have revealed it was also a grave site, and human remains have been unearthed on numerous occasions.

Sokka splashed a line of water through his path. The fire fizzled. Zuko’s eyebrow raised, then he forged on. The path zigzagged out of the constellation, hopped eastwards through the galaxy’s north. Hiss. Hiss. Sokka met him each time with a streak of water. Zuko pressed on, building rhythm with each star he joined up.
