It's been more than 20 years and for some reason I feel that Gosho hasn't given Kaiao any development, how can more than 20 years pass and Aoko dynamics, relationship and feelings remain the same? At this point I feel like Gosho is just going to make them date because "they already liked each other" they remain in the same status quo

Hey, if we go by DC romance progress, they've been going too fast. We've already had suspicion of identity chapters, and that didn't happen until more than 400 chapters in DC. /j

Since heists have taken over any character development recently, I don't even know if Kaito and Aoko will even get any romantic progress. Maybe the actual identity confrontation will happen down the line, since that's thief drama, but atm, it really wouldn't surprise me if they only ask each other on a real date at the very end of the manga.

Like. I'm sure Gosho would love to make MK a love drama as well, but he writes MK so rarely, and usually as hype for something Kid related in other media. So the MK stories tend to be heavy on drama that can only take place at Kid heists. (To the point that the new chapters just. Use Kid as the plot device to show off a new character. Even Hakuba's never gotten so much 'look at this character being a detective' treatment in MK.)

-sighs- I just feel bad for MK as a series at this point. I like the characters, I like the general story idea, but. It's been going down a very steep hill with Gosho wanting things exciting, but not wanting any real progress in. Anything. But unlike old MK, the new stories aren't even nice standalone setpieces of story, they're... mundane. They could be high stakes, if you purely look at the scenarios on paper, but. We all know nothing's gonna happen to Kid. Nothing even happens to him when the actual bad guys show up, much less one-time antagonists.

We need actual character focus and development, not heist drama. Badly. Not even romance, though that'd be a nice change. Just any character expansion of our limited cast of characters. Gosho wants big, all the time, meaningless big stuff, when small would be so nice.

I was watching Peace Petal's video on what might happen with MLP G6 (you should watch it, it's good).

Because I mostly agree with points raised, I want to instead focus on the fact that I find it rather funny that fans get up in arms at the idea of a new gen where the character names and colour schemes etc are re-used but with new personalities, with the argument that "that's not XYZ, they're changing the character etc"

Funny because I felt like that when I first saw g4. I was so upset to see Rainbow Dash was no longer the elegant and stylish mare she used to be, and how Pinkie went from being the voice of reason to essentially the opposite. And so on and so on.

But I happened to watch g4 in 2013 and I liked it and then I came to love it. The realisation that helped was the fact that Hasbro recycles characters all the time. It's most notable in g4, partly because the show had so many named characters while in g3 most repeated names would've been toy-exclusive and so you didn't explore their personality as much. It's a weird concept, since I can't think of many series that do this. Shows/toylines often either reboot the series with almost exactly the same characters (e.g. transformers has had the same Optimus Prime every time), or they start from scratch.

This is also why I don't feel too bad about Monster high's changes to the characters between generations. They're mostly using the names and stylistic elements to act as a springboard for a new series.

A similar thing could even be said about bionicle's g2. OK I'm finding a lot of examples, but these are all the ones I can really think of right now.

I do agree with Peace Petal that it would be wiser to distance itself completely from g4 and thus use inspiration from characters that aren't the mane 6, but if they do re-use Rainbow Dash's name for the third time (or Applejack for the forth) and make her a completely different pony, I really would not care. They're not the same character; it's not the same universe. They just happen to share a name and design influences.

But yes, the key thing is it needs to be a complete separation from g4. g5 was quite an outlier by retaining ties to the previous gen and I think that missed the opportunity for a fresh start, a blank slate with none of the complicated lore that had built up and complete freedom to do as they pleased.

I also really want them to bring back Wysteria. She could be the Rainbow Dash (g4) equivalent and I would not be mad I just want my first pony to get speaking roles and toys.

my own personal interpretation of the spawn killing rule was, it was made to prevent spam killings and point farming. no more elquackity killing jaiden so many times in rapid succession even consensually, no more pierre standing at the door waiting for his turn to farm off jaiden. the kills were so close together that i think it's close enough to be considered either against the rule or not, meaning it's wholly up to the admin's discretion and their own interpretation of the rule

i also wasn't watching it happen (listening to the stream) but checking the vod i can confirm, forever ended up killing bad four times. [in the span of 17 seconds; 9:33:00-9:33:17 in bad's vod]. twice could be let slide due to quest requirements (which i have an issue with; if they're going to require two kills it should be one player from each opposing team and def not the same person twice), four is a lot more dicey. again, in my opinion, even consensual spawnkilling is still spawn killing and therefore against that rule, especially considering that when quackity was consensually killing jaiden over and over, he still said "there should be a rule against this".

the last two kills were purely for points and to put green team in the lead. those are where it gets dicey for me personally; the deal to complete the mission was a lot easier to rationalize bc the admins basically designed the quest that way. killing the same person twice on this island is nigh impossible, especially if they know you're after them and are hiding. good luck finding someone who spends their entire time on the server in various holes just mining.

but again idk, the admins are the ones who know what the spirit of the rule was and in the end make the final call. i'm gonna straddle the fence on this one personally. thought i'd clarify one place the "it was spawn killing" claims could be coming from
